Speaker 1 (00:03):
If everybody hadn't the USA, then everybody like California. It's
day two of the Muster Christmas Giveaway, a salute to
the farmers. This afternoon we're catching up with Lucas Mills
of eider Down. Good afternoon, Lucas, and welcome to the Muster.
Speaker 2 (00:25):
Thanks for having us.
Speaker 1 (00:27):
Right, we're talking douvets and pillows and the likes. I
don't know about you, but one thing I am really
retentive about this having a decent pillow in life.
Speaker 2 (00:36):
Yeah, it's it's always trucky. Finding the perfont pillows pretty hard,
but that's what we're here to help with. Really, we've
got a massive range of them. So we've got someone
that suits.
Speaker 1 (00:47):
Everyone because they you can KnowI they have a firm
or you're like a hard pillow or just the goldilocks
in between. These no real set rival reason as to
what people choose.
Speaker 2 (00:57):
Right, No, No, that's everyone's so personal with pillows. So
you know there's different cell options. You know, you're going
from your wall ones which are nice bit firmer that
more hold right up to a high down percentage which
are really soft and you can really snuggle and and
everything in between and Yeah, there's everyone's different so it's
(01:19):
definitely quite a tricky one to get right and it's
an important choice as well.
Speaker 1 (01:24):
Right douves you guys, obviously they're eider down. It's one
of the big things that you're about up. So where
are they? Where do you make them?
Speaker 2 (01:32):
Yeah, so we make them all in our Moscow factory.
All our douvets are made here Moscow and Dunedin, so
made in the South Island, which is always great.
Speaker 1 (01:40):
You guys have been around for quite a while too, Yeah, we've.
Speaker 2 (01:44):
The brand's been around for quite a while. As this
particular one, we've been doing it for about six or
seven years, but we've got upwards of thirty to thirty
five years of knowledge in the industry. So yeah, awesome
for the douvets, We've got a massive range of them
now in the New Zealand Made Museum, designed and made
for the local conditions.
Speaker 1 (02:03):
Well, it's like the pillow talk before you talk about
the douve I mean, I remember I used to go
to boarding school. I had the lightest douve available. It
didn't really offer a hell of a lot when it
came to winter time. But then I think the first
thing when I left Score was actually by a decent
douvet because it'll serve you for a very very long time.
Speaker 2 (02:23):
Yeah they do. Yep. So our Downlund in particular a
really lightweight, but they're really insulating and they can last
sort of yeah to well look after. People can get
thirty thirty years plus out of them, So they are
lifetime investment for a lot of people. And yeah that
once you get a quality douve there's nothing quite like it.
Speaker 1 (02:41):
Eider Down. You don't just talk about douvets and pillows
or produce them, but it's all about blankets and mattress
toppers as well, metros toppers.
Speaker 2 (02:49):
Sorry, yep, yep. So we have a range of colored
feather and down blankets which are really popular, added nice
popper color and a nice extra layer, and then our
mattress top we do a big luxurious down one, or
we make our walls top or underlay and they're really nice,
just to add that little bit of extra comfort to
(03:09):
a bed.
Speaker 1 (03:10):
As far as new products are coming out with Fighter Down,
what's on the horizon.
Speaker 2 (03:14):
Yeah, So we've recently done a range of New Zealand
made sheet which are proving to be pretty popular. And
I think coming in the new year, we're going to
be introducing some locally made mattress protectors and we've got
some new colors of blankets in the pipeline as well.
And you know we've for our duvets, we've got about
(03:36):
twenty four different options, but you never know if we're
going to introduce another one in there that we think
will work as well.
Speaker 3 (03:41):
Yeah, I think we do four different Fiell types and
then there's variations of each one of those, and we
do summer, autumn, winter, we do four seasons one so
there's there's a bit of a broad maxim We even
do cop dovets, so do they for children as well,
So yeah, it's quite a good mix.
Speaker 1 (03:58):
Now your factory shops nine eight Ledston's Road South in
mos Gill. As far as zion line or partnering with
Farmlands for example, is that an option?
Speaker 2 (04:07):
Yep, yep. So we shall online worldwide but mostly in
New Zealand, so that's iderdown dot co, dot jed and
then we have a partnership with Farmland as well where
if you juicy farmlands can you get a five percent
rebate as well. So that's that's been a great partnership too.
Speaker 1 (04:23):
And today we're giving away an adjustable wall pillow. But
the great thing about this is one hundred percent New
Zealand wall.
Speaker 2 (04:30):
Yep, that's right, and then they are really popular options.
It's one hundred percent New Zealand wall and it's pearl
so it's in little wall balls and it's got a
zip opening so you can take some fill out of
it to get it to that right height, so it
can be the perfect option.
Speaker 1 (04:45):
