Speaker 1 (00:04):
Welcome back to the Oily Academy. I'm your host, Wendy Selving, certified,
a romatherapist, natural health researcher, and essential oil enthusiast for sure.
If you're new here, I'm so glad you've found this podcast.
I'm all about empowering you to control your health through
natural science backed practices. Today we're going to dive deep

(00:27):
into Copaieva essential oil. This is one of nature's most
powerful and underrated oils for sure, especially when it comes
to pain relief and inflammation to support. I have to say,
if you're relying solely on synthetic painkillers and you haven't
tried copaye but yet, this may just blow your mind.

(00:49):
So grab your notebook, your favorite essential oil roller, and
let's get into it. Okay, now, before I really get started,
I just want to make sure you all here understand
I'm not a doctor. I'm not your doctor. Nothing I
say should be taken as medical advice. This is all
entertainment purposes and educational purposes. So you're gonna take this information.

(01:11):
You'll go talk to your own natural health practitioner or
medical doctor and help have them help you decide if
this is a good option for you. Okay, So what
is copaieba. Now it sounds a lot like copybara. Do
you know what copy bara is? They're like rodent, but

(01:33):
like they're huge. Anyway, They're they're really cute and I've
seen them on social media a lot. That is not
what this is. This is copai aba. Copai Aba is
an essential oil that comes from the olio resin of
the Copa faira tree native to South America, mostly in Brazil. Now,
the trees have been tapped by indigenous communities for centuries

(01:55):
for the resin, which they've used to treat wounds, inflammation,
and respiratory issues. That's the historical use of copaeva and
it really is a South American oil. But what makes
coopayeva really stand out is its chemical makeup, particularly one
star constituent beta caraphiling, which you can say BCP for

(02:15):
shorts and beta caraphiling. It's a sesquoterpine right, So now
we're diving into the chemistry of essential oil here. It
directly activates something called the c B two receptor in
your indo cannabinoid system. Did you even know you had
an indo cannabinoid system like our bodies, Whether it's through

(02:38):
history and thousands of years of just what humans use
in nature. Or you could say we were created to
use these plants. Right, So either whichever direction your thoughts go,
the fact is we have receptors built into our cells
to receive this natural constituent. And now in my family

(03:05):
we use here. I don't know if this was explained
to you what the function is, but we call it
liquid thi lenol. Now, it is not thailenal. It is
not a drug. It is a natural substance that comes
out of the resin of this tree. Right. But it
influences our thoughts in that way because of the benefits

(03:26):
that we do receive from it, and it helps your
body with inflammation and all the things when your body's
trying to overcome that. It assists your body in that process.
Unlike THC that's found in cannabis, though, kopayeba is non psychoactive,
meaning you get relief benefits without any of the high
and nothing wouldever show up on a drug test that

(03:47):
would put you in jeopardy. You know that looks like
you take drugs. Now, the cbtwo receptor plays a huge
role in regulating pain perception, inflammation, and immune function. So
when you use kopa a buta, it's like flipping that
switch and all of the switches of the things I

(04:08):
just mentioned in your body. Now, why would you use
copayeba if you are experiencing discomfort in your body. Well,
here's the deal. Kopaiaba actually contains up to fifty five
percent beta caraphiling, so depending on the quality, and even
more BCP is in kopaieba than CBD oil, which is

(04:30):
often praised for pain relief. Right, so many people find
it soothing for muscle soreness, joint pain, and nerve discomfort.
Most people don't know about this, but it has more
of beta cara filing that the thing that is in
CBD oil. The reason why people take CBD oil. There's
more of it in copaieba than there is in CBD.

(04:51):
Topical application can use sore muscles and joints, and with
topical application you would just add some carrier oil to
it just to help trap the so those little essential
oil molecules into your skin so they don't like float away.
They're lighter than air. So that is one of the
reasons we do use carrier oil is because the fatty
oil traps those little molecules and keeps them on your

(05:13):
skin so you absorb it all. So you can add
some coconut oil or avocado oil to it and then
rub it in. Kopaeba helps reduce systemic inflammation, which is
at the root of many chronic health issues, so adding
this into your daily regimen could be something you can consider.
Your body has a system that works on inflammation. It

(05:37):
tries to keep inflammation down, and this is going to
support that system. Now, it also gives nervous system support,
calms nerve discomfort and promotes relaxation. It soothes irritated skin,
can reduce blemishes, and speeds wound healing. So there's a
lot of benefits for this oil. The final thing that

(05:57):
you might not think of is that it's a respiratory support,
so it acts as an expectorant and kind of just
supports the clear breathing. But it's not a menthally smell.
It really has a very light smell and it kind
of smells like a weed, not not weed, but a weed,

(06:19):
oh man. And it's I mean, it doesn't it's not bothersome,
it's not heavy, it's just like this light to me,
it's just barely there. You could take it internally if
you use Young Living brand, And the reason why I
say only Young Living is because that brand is the
only brand I know of that is labeled for internal use.

(06:40):
You never, ever, ever, ever take an essential oil internally
that is not labeled for internal use, because that company
is taking the responsibility and saying, we know that this
is clean and it does not have any chemicals in
it that are damaging or you know that would hurt you.
We know that it doesn't have heavy metals from the

(07:01):
distillation process. Like they're putting their name on the line
by labeling it saying it safe. Then you can feel
confident then it's safe. But moses into oils are truly
not safe for ingestion because there's thinners and additives that
can be toxic that get added for the perfume industry,
not for the health industry. I hope that makes sense. Okay,

(07:23):
So how do we use kopayeba? Topically? Is probably the
best way to take it, depending on what you're using
it for, of course, but if you have sore muscles
or an injury or something, you can just add, like
I said, a little bit of carrier oil with it
and then rub it into your muscles, your joints. You
can take it internally. Like I just said again, it

(07:44):
has to be the vitality line. It has to be
labeled for internal use, just to be safe. You can
put a couple drops under your tongue, or you can
put it in a capsule, or you can add it
to warm tea or water for immune or inflammatory support.
Also aromatically you can use it. You could just add
it into a diffuser and it does have a grounding

(08:08):
woodsy sense, so you could blend it with frankinsense or
even some lavender for relaxation. You can really add it
to anything. Because it has such a light scent, it's
going to be it's not going to be too overbearing
in any way. Now safety notes, Copaieba is generally considered
very gentle, so that's great. This is a great oil

(08:31):
to get started if you're just getting started with essential
oils and you want to try something new. This is
great because of how gentle it is. It's non toxic,
it's non irritating and nonsensitizing for most people. But as always,
you might want to do a little skin patch test
when trying something new topically, and if you're pregnant or
have medical conditions of any kind, just please check with

(08:53):
your healthcare provider now. If you're looking for high quality copaieva,
Young Living's kopaie Vitality is one of my favorites. Again,
I'm only going to recommend something that I know is safe,
and when I'm recommending you take something internally, it's going
to be Young Living because that is the only company
I know that truly labels for internal use. It is

(09:16):
sourced from sustainably harvest Koppa Ferra trees, and it's rigorously
tested for purity. Now, Coopayeba is like having nature's pain
relief in a bottle. Powerful, gentle, and effective. So if
you are looking for a way to support your body's
natural inflammation response and manage occasional discomfort, you know, give

(09:37):
it a try. Thanks for hanging out with me today
