Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hello everybody, Welcome back to my channel. I'm in my

(00:01):
comfies today because I'm in the process of recording batch
recording a load of Tom Rock sessions, so there's lots
of fun stuff coming up. But I also want to
remind you of everything that has happened this week in
case you wants to catch up with anything. Number one,
I was on the Telly on Monday. Did you catch
me on BBC Morning Live? I had such a good
time when all the way back to Manchester. I used

(00:22):
to work for a BBC and ITV when I was younger.
I used to work in the production team on the
Telly and it was like going back in time. I
had an absolute ball. So if you haven't already go
and checked that out. On BBC Iplay, we talk about
how to break the housework down when it feels really,
really overwhelming, and of course it was organized Christmas a
week two this week. Do not pan it if you
haven't done any of your tests. There's still plenty of time,

(00:43):
and don't forget. We do an organized Christmas catch up
by size week at the end of November as well,
so that is perfect if you, for whatever reason, have
missed out on a couple of weeks, or maybe work
gets busy at at some point that is going to
be like your little safety net. And the tom Rock
sessions that went at Live this week work Organized Christmas
Ambient session for week two. There was also a really

(01:05):
lovely guided toy cull session that was a thirty minute
session and that fits perfectly in with the tasks that
you've got for Organized Christmas week too. And also I
catch you company whilst she did thirty minutes of laundry,
So go and check those out. They're available both on
Patreon if you search for the Organized Mom or if
you've got the Organized Mom app. They are available in

(01:25):
the tom Rock section if you have upgraded to that.
But today we are talking about bedroom and how to
create and keep a calm bedroom space. So I'm going
to share my organization tips with you because let's face it,
the bedroom should be our sanctuary, but for so many
of us it turns into this drop zone for everything

(01:45):
like toys, laundry, random books, like stuff that you like.
I will get around to it, classic mess and magnets
the bedroom. Creating a calm, organized bedroom is much easier
than you think. Don't need to go fall on to
make it happen. So let's dive into some simple, yet
effective bedroom organization tips. It will help you reclaim your

(02:08):
peace without losing your sanity or spend hours of folding socks.
Start with decluttering. It is impossible to clean clutter. It's
impossible to organize chaos. So first things first, you must declutter.
I know this can sound like a really daunting task,
but break it down, hick, one area of a time.
We talk about it all the time. Don't we start

(02:29):
with a wall over there, Maybe start with the top
of the dresser, Maybe start with your flow drobe. Ask
yourself do I really need this? Is this adding to
my life? And if the answer is no, toss it,
donate it, sell it. Now is the perfect time to
be doing a declutter so that you can list on
selling sites and clause some money back for Christmas. And
if there's something that's been sitting there for six months

(02:50):
and you haven't touched it, it's probably not serving a purpose.
Second thing is invest in smart storage solutions. We love
a good storage hack, and the bedroom is full of
opportunities to maximize space, So think under the bed storage bins.
They're a game changer for seasonal clothing, especially at this
time of year as we're moving into winter. Putting those

(03:11):
summer clothes away, you can start extra bedding there. Draw
Dividers are also a must for keeping the chaos in
your dresser under control. And if you are sure on
space in any room but your bedroom as well, look up.
Can you utilize the space above you think hooks? Can
you use shelves? That sort of thing? And baskets are
your new best friend. Keep it stylish, keep it functional,

(03:33):
use them for extra blankets, toys, if it's a kid's
bedroom or anything that doesn't really have a home. I
love this one. Tip Number three is keep your bedside
table as minimal as possible. Your bedside table should be
like a peaceful place. It's not like a junk surface
with a lamp on top of all of the stuff.
Keep only the essentials there, a book, your lamp, a

(03:54):
water glass. I had to have some hand cream there
is put hand cream on lasting for a go to bed.
Everything else it goes. Because if you're someone who tends
to pile random stuff up there before bed, give yourself
a space to put it like a container, could be
a drawer, just to keep things contained. Hair tied phone charges,

(04:15):
that sort of thing. Try and keep everything in your
bedroom visually as clutter free as possible. You could maybe
install a floating shelf right above the bed for books
or lovey little candle, just perfect way of keeping your
bedside table. Plus, a free bedroom is where the floor
drobe lives. So try and create a laundry system. We

(04:36):
all know, don't we that If you're following Tom, we
try and do a load of laundry from start to
completion every day because a designation like a system makes
a huge difference. I have a washing basket in each
and everybody's room so that everybody has somewhere for the
dirty clothes to go. That way, they don't end up
on the floor. So make sure that you are keeping

(04:58):
on top of the laundry and ask yourse when you're
liking at your floor drobe or your chair drobe or
whatever it is. It will probably take me ninety seconds
two minutes to hang up three or fours of clothing.
If I just leave these here on this chair or worse,
on the floor in my bedroom over the course of
a week or two weeks, I'm going to be left

(05:18):
with a big mountain of laundry to hang up or fold,
and what's worse, it's not going to stay its cleanest
on the floor and also is going to crease, so
you might actually be creating more work for yourself. Mess
magnet in your bedroom is probably the clothes. Give yourself
a little bit of time each day, maybe at the
end of every day, just to pick up any clothes

(05:39):
and make sure that they are stored neatly. Aching at
your bed. This sounds like it's such a simple tip,
but it's so so important. I know that you're probably thinking,
but do I really need to make the bed? Nobody
else is coming in here, but hear me out because
making the bed takes less than two minutes. It doesn't
need to have hospital corners. It might even be folding
the DV back on itself just to air your room.

(06:00):
It has an amazing impact on how your room feels.
It's a quick win that instantly makes your space looks
more put together and also sets a calming tone for
the day, sets you up on the right foot, and
also when you come in after a long day, it's
a little bit more inviting than a crumpled up do
thet and pillow and trying this in some cozy bedding.
If your bed looks inviting, you're more likely to make it,

(06:24):
and then you're more likely to enjoy crawling into it.
If you can try and keep decord simple and soothing,
so less, it really is more when it comes to
a bedroom, more clutter free your bedroom is the better.
Keep it simple with very few pieces that are intentional
framed photos, plants like nice artwork. Avoid cluttering up your

(06:46):
surfaces with too many little bits of nicknaps and that
sort of thing. Because you want to make your bedroom
feel calm, You don't want to make it just become
a museum of items that collect dust. And if you
offer neutral tones they can create a really lovely, peaceful
vie as well. And if your bedroom is doubling up
as other space, maybe it's a bit like you do
some work in there as well, try and think of
it as more of a place to sleep. You can

(07:07):
create specific zones within the space. Maybe you want to
create a little reading look or a space to meditate
or journal, or somewhere just to sit and have a
cup of coffee looking out the window if the kids
let you in the morning. That's why it's really important
to stay on top of clutter, like the chair drobe
and also the floor drobe, so that you can actually
use the furniture and the room with intention that is

(07:28):
going to support a purpose and it's going to help
to nurture you when you're in that space. Like a
comfy chair, a small side table, and a good lamp,
a lovely soft lighting in a bedroom of a turn
on the big light can transform a corner into like
miniqui tree. The end of the day, our bedroom should
be a place where we can unwine, we can relax ideally,

(07:49):
so just start small. De clutter, use smart storage, keep
things minimal because you can't clean clutter. Create a space
that's calm, inviting and that feels you you it's your bedroom,
make it uniquely yours. And if you have neglected your
bedroom for whatever reason, maybe this wouldn't happen, can't it
When you become a parent, always at the bottom of

(08:10):
the list, and maybe your bedroom has been on the
bottom of the list, and he's like, keep we needing
to get around to do it. Then don't forget to
check out tom Ross because there are some lovely guided
sessions there taking you through bedroom cleans and if you

the organized one app you clean the bedrooms every Tuesday.
Just do your best with the time and energy that
you have and slowly but surely over time, promise you

(08:32):
is just housework maps, your home and your bedroom will
get cleaner and cleaner. That is all we've got time
for today. Next week, we've got an exciting week coming up.
We've got Week three of Organized Christmas. We've got some
lovely guided sessions coming your way. We've got a guided
freezer clear out, we have got of course the ambient
session for week three on Tom Rocks. And also we've

(08:53):

to life than housework. Bye.
