(00:48):
guest and we'll get to you injust a little bit. But first it's
are you, uh you know whatI'm today? I'm actually pretty good.
I did not work today, soI am fantastic, Mike. I actually
enjoyed the sunshine today. Nobody pissedme off, so it's all good.
Yeah, it's good. It's allgood. How are you doing, Darby

the Saturday when this comes out,and I hope everybody enjoys their Memorial Day
weekend. I am looking forward toa nice little, quick little break.

(01:37):
Been got a lot of stuff onmy plate these last last couple of months,
so I'll be enjoying the holiday, and I hope everybody who's listening enjoys
the holiday as well. So wehave some things to discuss that we're going
to get into it just a littlebit. Be first, we have a
very important interview with some important informationthat we're gonna get to right now.

(02:00):
All right, we have a veryspecial guest on the show today. He's
been on the show before and he'she's back with some exciting news that I
want to make sure as many peopleas possible hear about it. He is
the founder, president and CEO ofEdwins, Randon Kristowski. Welcome back.

(02:21):
How you doing, sir, HeyDarbiel, Thanks thanks sir for having me
back out. Man, absolutely,so let's jump right into it. Man,
tell us a little bit about whatyou got going on. Well,
hey, man, you know, you know we do the training here at
Edwins and so much more. Butthe next level to what we do is
we want to make sure that menand women in Cleveland, particularly those who

(02:43):
have who the banks maybe have notbeen fond of right, get them to
ownership, a real pathway to ownershipfor their culinary dreams. So, whether
that's a bakery, a restaurant,it's a small shop, a coffee shop,
we're trying to get you today goalthrough our new accelerator program. So

(03:04):
tell us a little bit about theAccelerator program. What can people expect and
all that good stuff. It's it'ssimple, man. You apply if you
go online, right, you goto our websites, right front and center,
you fill out the application. We'retaken roughly twenty five to thirty applicants
only. Okay, you know,we want to encourage those who are ready

(03:24):
to own and start their own business, and we'll take you through a six
week course. You know, makesure your business plan is tight, make
sure you've got certain marketing materials, correct pitch you know how to pitch your
your idea. And then from therewe're selecting three to five that we will
back. Okay, We're going toback them with our expertise and consulting okay

(03:49):
for whatever they need. And alsothey'll have access to one hundred and fifty
thousand dollars and no interest loans.Wow. So so you said three five
would have that access. But eventhe ones who aren't picked would still have
an incredible experience with getting all thisinformation that would be necessary for their business,

(04:13):
regardless of whether they get picked ornot. Right, exactly exactly,
So you know, no matter whatif you even if you don't make that
three to five cut, well there'sthe reason why because maybe the things that
you needed to have in place weren'tthere. So you'll definitely get to that
next step. And yeah, we'rejust looking at bringing it to people,
man, who who are not gettingthe shot? You know what I mean,

(04:35):
Darviio, there's a lot of peopleout they're not getting the shot.
They've been slugging it out man. They either were working for someone else or
they're they're trying to push it,you know, to a level that's just
maybe out of their house. Butit's time for the brick and mortar,
you know, it's time for thebig show, and that's what we're helping
bring it to. Awesome. Sothis is this new just the first year

(04:57):
you're gonna be doing this? Isthis a long term like how long has
this been around? So this isthis will be a new program for us.
But we have great partners involved.Man, the Cleveland Browns are really
behind this. They were the catalystshere. They said they want to make
sure they see more people get toownership, especially in the minority community.
They were instrumental in backing us withdollars and and supporting us in many ways.

(05:21):
But yeah, this is this isour first year we're doing it.
It will not be the last year. And you know, applications are open
now until I think we cut itoff June twentieth. So hey, if
you got your if you have towrite stuff, I would say, get
online. Make sure we apply itabsolutely. So talk a little bit about
obviously from your from your own background, you know how difficult it is to

(05:46):
start a restaurant and you have anincredible success story that more that more people
need to hear. So talk alittle bit about how your experiences have helped
to influence like you know what thesethese budding entrepreneurs are going to need.
Talk a little bit about how yourexperience influence is this project. Listen,

(06:11):
man, this restaurant business, andI don't care where in the world you
are, is cutthroat and it istough, and and you know they say
ninety percent of these these businesses failwithin the first year. You know,
there's some extraordinary statistic and I don'tknow exactly what it is, but the
odds are not with you. Andso what the most important thing to know

(06:34):
is the biggest part of your businesswill be built upon the deal you make
at the beginning, the least thatyou cut to the equipment you purchase,
and controlling those costs is what savesyou down the road. And also running
a very very tight and organized business, right you know, there's no there's
no margin for airor on waste orover purchasing because then you tie up your

(06:58):
cash flow or making sure you hadthe right manager and staff in place and
you're paying them appropriately. You know, these are the things that you never
wants to be kind and nice anddo these things. But you know what
in a restaurant, did you getrun over? And and and and less
and less than a year, acouple of months, you're out of business.
The biggest thing that we bring tothe table is we set up those
those you know those bumpers, man, to keep you in a lane that

(07:20):
will help you sustain. And that'swhat when we get called into consults and
we and we're not cheap for consultingwhen we do do it. These are
the problems that we're seeing. Man, no systems, wrong leadership, a
bad deal at the beginning. Ifsomeone would have called us in before,
we would have made sure that theysucceeded. Uh. And that's what this
incubator is about. In this accelerator, man, we're gonna we're gonna bring

(07:43):
that that cutthroat restaurant fashion into yourbusiness, into your model. Right,
it's your business, it's your model. But we're going to bring in some
of these these systems that will allowyou to succeed. And and the biggest
part I'm proud of. You know, the Cleveland Foundations said, hey,
you know, we asked them,we need some money to give to people
who are entrepreneurs. You know,we don't have infinite money. And they

(08:05):
stepped up with one hundred and fiftythousand to give to us that we can
loan out. Okay, so nowthere's no rigging around of a bank and
all these different checks of credits andand how long have you owned a business?
Well, you haven't because you can'tget money for one. So we're
like that first step and we workin conjunction with others. If you need

(08:26):
more money, I'm sure we canget we can leverage that that funding as
well. Absolutely. And what isif you think back to as you built
you know Edwins and to the successfulrestaurant that it is today and just an
overall you know, successful so exampleof social entrepreneurship in particular, what was

(08:54):
some of the more difficult challenges thatyou had as you were building a ones?
You know it? It was likewhat you would expect out of starting
something that's never been built before, right, Others you know'll possibly conceive in
this vision that it's possible. Right, Just getting people believe, more so
in those that are coming out ofthe criminal justice system than the actual restaurant

(09:18):
itself. You know, That's whatit takes a lot of people to overcome.
Was this idea that someone out ofprison was capable of this, which
to you and I is ridiculous, right, But to others they just you
know, they couldn't conceive it.But getting people over that hump was,
you know, I spent before openingEdwins, you know, twenty years or

(09:39):
so in the restaurant business at thehighest level throughout Paris, New York and
so on. So listen, Igot I got my ass kicked, I
made mistakes, I tightened up.I mean, I feel I felt pretty
good about going into starting this thisyou know business. But again, once
you get open, it's a differentstory and you learn quickly you you need

(10:00):
to sustain. And some of thoselessons would include managing cash flow. You
know, no need to tie itup on the shelves, you know,
keep a little inventory, stretch it, stretch it, stretch it, you
know, making sure you have theright team in place. Sometimes you have
a player you think is going towork out. You see it in football
and basketball. At the time thatplayer doesn't work out. So it's putting
the right players in place and thenand then letting them play. But consistency

(10:24):
is king in this business. Ittakes a lot of years to get that
ingrained in someone. But the systemthat you come up with is really the
operating system you need to it's goingto make or breaking absolutely and so and
that kind of goes into my nextquestion here, what if if you could

(10:46):
pick one thing that is the mostimportant thing that the participants are going to
learn or they'll need that they'll gainfrom this program. What would it be
structure that you actually need to succeedin business? Okay, it's not this,

(11:07):
oh you know, read page sevenof this book. No, it's
the actual structure that a successful businesshas to have to operate. That's gonna
be the biggest thing you learned thesesix weeks, and we're gonna we're gonna
make sure you have it. Andwhen does the program begin. The program

(11:30):
is going to begin in July. Now, applications will take applications till June
twentieth, and then we'll begin classesJuly eighth. So after that long four
July weekend, get ready to grindit out. And six weeks later,
we're not wasting time. We're selectinga few and we're getting started, all

(11:52):
right, And how can people apply? It's really simple, man, Just
go online, go on the Edwinsrestaurant dot org website. Uh, it's
it's right there, front and center. You click the accelerator link. You
go on there will take exactly whatyou need to fill it an application,
plain and simple. Okay. We'llalso have it on social media, you
know, or if you go onour Instagram or Facebook, there's gonna be

(12:15):
plenty of information about there as well. But you know, if you want
to get involved, simple as that. And look, if you're one of
those those people out there and say, hey, I've got many successful businesses,
how can I help you do moreof this? Well, you know,
let's talk because there's others who havecontributed to what we're doing to help
make this happen. Individuals, corporations, you name it. But all the

(12:39):
informations online. All right, letonce again that actually goes into where else
is going? Next time for thatas well, talk a little bit about
some of the support that you've gottenfor this project. We've we've had such
generous people in this area. Man, it's incredible. Not only one person
does it alone. So you know, an individual and you know anonymously,

(13:01):
he's given seventy five thousand. ClevelandBrown stepped up to the plate their players
and their team with another seventy fivethousand. That helps us put on this
whole class, et cetera, andsupport that person who goes through the program
into their their ownership role. We'regonna be behind them, man like I'm
telling you what, what people youknow pay for this is well in access

(13:24):
to that, but that covers it. And then the one hundred and fifty
thousand the Cleveland Foundation has pledged hereis another huge step because we no longer
have to worry about we have togo through this bank, go through this
program, and go through that program. We identify leaders, we see what
they're made of, we know wherethey're at, and and we're righteous,

(13:46):
you know, to lend and wecan leverage this. You know, there's
other people who at the table whosays, call me if you find that
person, because we can we canput our heads together and even leverage that
funding for more. Lastly, there'sland involved in this. Landlords down you
know, from downtown to midtown whoare willing and ready to cut deals for

(14:07):
those who are interested if that's wherethey want their space. If they don't
want their space there, obviously, you know, forget about it. But
we're working with landlords throughout the city, commercial ones who are willing to you
know, at least a property toa new business owner. Excellent, excellent.
It's very encouraging to hear how thecommunity has come together on this project.

(14:30):
And you know, I'm very hopefulthat it's going to be a huge
success. Now, before we gofor people who may not be familiar with
Edwinds, talk a little bit aboutEdwin's on the restaurant and everything else that
you have going on and all thatgood stuff. Yeah, Edwards, you

(14:52):
know here we are a fine diningFrench restaurant. We're also a school.
So for six months, anyone comingout of the criminal justice system were affected
by it. We trained to thetop dining room, kitchen business basics,
you know, wine knowledge, spiritknowledge, et cetera. So we are
a culinary school. We run atthe real speed of a restaurant, very

(15:16):
powerful. We do not only haveEdwins the French fine dining restaurant in Shaker
Square. We have Edwin's two.We have a butcher shop, a bakery.
We have a campus which is nowfive buildings strong. So we have
free housing for students in our program. We offer graduate housing. We just
opened up a childcare center a yearago. We offer free childcare to students

(15:39):
in our program shoot. We teachin juvenile junele corrections twice a day,
five days a week. We're nationwideon tablets, reaching about one hundred thousand
inmates over four hundred and twenty prisonsand institutions like we hit hard Man re
entries our game, food's our game. But we're also no nonsense Starvio that

(16:00):
come to the program thinking as afree ride, it's it's not exactly that
you have to work. You haveto work hard. That's our that's our
business, and that's life. That'sright, that's right, all right,
one more time, let everybody knowthe basis on when the when the program
starts, how they can apply allthat good stuff real quick. Absolutely.
Edwards Accelerator Program applications will close Junetwentieth, okay, June twentieth, get

(16:25):
your application, and by then Julyeighth, we start the uh you know,
the series of classes, and byAugust we'll have someone select it and
hopefully on their way to us tostarting their business. All right, thank
you so much for coming on theshow, spending time with us and sharing
this a very very important program, and I wish you all the best and

(16:48):
I hope it's hugely successful. Heydarb, Hey, look, thank you so
much for spreading this word. Youknow, without without advocates like yourself and
leaders, you know, this messageis to get out there and you know
you're you're one of those people helpingmake that happen. I appreciate it absolutely
anything I can do, appreciate it. Thank you. All right, stay

(17:10):
tuned. We have more to counthere. These days. It seems like

leave us a five star review anda comment. It's very important for the
algorithm and for those of you alreadydone, so thank you also very much,
miss miss O'Malley, I know youwanted to talk about something is yours?

(18:27):
Yeah, so, oh this topicis very triggering, especially you know,
to the mothers and fathers, tothe parents. So recently I had
a situation where my daughter had gotbit by my cat, and so my

(18:48):
daughter ended up going to the hospital. And because cat bites, by the
way, guys, is a realthing. So when it does, it
gets infected, et cetera, etcetera. It does happen. So she
ended up going to the hospital. They had to put her on antibiotics,
which she's better, by the way. However, so when we go to
this hospital, I'm not going tostate what hospital, but I would like

(19:14):
to say, so you I don'tknow, so everybody knows the normal questions
that they ask you or ask children. They ask anybody really, do you
feel safe at home? Do youfeel like harming yourself or others? Et
cetera, et cetera. And sowhen we get upstairs to the pides,
which is for children, these nursesasked me to leave the room for a

(19:40):
moment so they can ask my daughtersome questions. I was thinking that they
were going to ask those very questionsI just listed, and those were not,
in fact the questions that they askedher. My daughter, by the
way, is ten years old.She is very very innocent, still a
normal child. She doesn't try toact older than her age, well,

(20:03):
other than her preteen attitude occasionally. But so these nurses ask my ten year
old daughter, is she having sex? And does she drink and smoke?
So the nurse came out to meafter asking her these questions, and she

(20:26):
looks at me and she says,I may have opened up a can of
worms. And I'm like, whatdo you mean? And she said,
I kind of I asked her ifshe's having sex, and she was very
confused on what I asked her.So now she's kind of curious, and

(20:47):
she said, I will let youtalk to your daughter. So I go
into the room and immediately my daughtersays, Mommy, what sex? Oh
okay. So now I am verylivid. I'm very, very very upset
because, you know, this myinnocent ten year old child who I've worked

(21:11):
so hard, I fought so hardto protect her innocence, you know,
from this already crazy world. Youknow, where there's a lot of bad
people that do harmful things, youknow, three children or other children that
take advantage of other children, youknow, And I've done I've worked so
hard to protect her and just forthese nurses to ruin her innocence in a

(21:37):
split second when all we did wasgo to the hospital to add to for
a cat bite. Wow. Soyeah, I find that to be an
issue because it's not that they wereasking her that because they felt something was
wrong. They asked her that becausenow apparently this is a new thing that

(21:57):
hospitals ask to starting from the ageof seven, and they do not they
do not communicate that with the parentbeforehand of asking these children. That's yeah,
that's outrageous. That's absolutely outrageous. The fact that they thought it was

(22:18):
a good idea to do this, and the fact that they did. The
most important thing is not only didthey do this with a ten year old,
but they did it without telling youfirst, because you could have told
them, hey, don't do that. R And the fact that they did
that without your consent, that's wild. Yeah, I agree. I was

(22:48):
absolutely fuming, Garbio. I couldnot believe what I was hearing. I
was so like distraught by it,and just like I'm pretty sure smoke was
coming out of my ears like Iwas. I was heated. That nurse
immediately disappeared after that, like Idid not see her for the remainder of
that night man. And it waslike, and obviously I'm not gonna get

(23:11):
graphic. It would be different ifthat happened if she was there for something
that had something to do with thatregion, right, like it was an
it was a cat bite. Whatare we doing? Yeah? And I
actually found out through a friend thatworks at that hospital, that very hospital.

(23:36):
I was talking to her about itbecause I was still upset, and
she told me because I was mad, I was very upset about it.
I was talking to her and shewas the one that told me that.
She was like, unfortunately they makeus ask that question now for starting from
the age of seven years old.And I was like, that is so
effed up, Like you just destroyedevery bit of her innocence, like not

(24:02):
her particularly, but that nurse,Like they destroyed her that innocent part of
her. I mean, God forbid, you know. And the thing is
is I get it because now inthis day and age, there are a
lot of young girls that are aroundthat age that are are out having sexual

(24:23):
intercourse and things of the sort anddoing things that they should not be doing.
I get that, but like yousaid, D'Arville, they should have
spoken that with me first. Andnow because of that, my daughter she
has access to the internet. Youknow, this is twenty twenty four,
So she has access to the internet, you know what I mean? And
so I do. I will haveto go ahead and lock her tablet and

(24:47):
her phone from being able to reachthat part of the Internet because I don't
want her to go beyond and goresearch. Hey, what does this mean?
Like, obviously, my child knowswhat boyfriend and girlfriend is, she
knows what a husband and wife is. She knows how things you know,

(25:08):
you know, she knows things ofthat sort, but she does she never
knew anything when it comes to thelines of that. She was actually more
appalled, stockingly, my child wasmore appalled that they asked her if she
smoked and drink. She was like, mom, like, I cannot believe

(25:29):
they would ask me that. Iwill be well, first of all,
I'm glad she felt like that numberone, number two. That is a
good sign because she still doesn't havethe full concept or or idea of what
sex is. So that's that's agood job out of you, you know,

(25:52):
but yeah, no, that's outrageous. She still plays with baby dolls
and barbies and plays for tend youknow, she still does all that innocent
stuff. She still likes the colorand draw and just sting and learn how
to play piano and draw up digin the dirt like that. That's that's
the stage she's in. Like sheshe don't even look at boys in that

(26:15):
way, Like I mean, I'msure she does, like, oh he's
handsome. I think one time maybeshe has said a boy was handsome.
I've seen it in one of likea little piece of paper and I was
like absolutely not, Like don't dothat again. You may not not until
you're like fifty, all right, but wow wow, But they need to

(26:42):
they need to come up with somethingelse. I understand that they want to
make sure that they keep our childrensafe and they want to protect them,
and they want to make sure youknow that they're not doing things they shouldn't
be doing because these things can happenbecause you know, older adults or other
children can't like I said, Kim, and do do harmful things and manipulate

(27:03):
these young children into doing these things, and then they do become active.
But you do need to come upwith a They need to come up with
a different solution to going about that. Yeah, well, and the parents,
they talk to the parents first. They should absolutely talk to the parents
first off, the writ before theyasked that, because now you had to

(27:26):
have an uncomfortable conversation. Try toshut that down with your daughter. You
don't even want to thinking about thatright now, right, because like,
come on, no, if she'slike, the usual question is you know,
mommy or daddy, where do babiescome from? That's the usual question
that kids asked. But I didn'tget that one. Okay, I didn't
get that question. Now you gotstraight to the S word. I mean,

(27:55):
she has asked the whole baby questionbefore, which I'm by the way,
I'm like, yeah, god,zap right. You know, Zach,
you're right into my belly. Youknow that's how that happened, you
know, just half true. Yeah, so but you know that that's Yeah,
that's something that they really need toThey need to fix that problem because

(28:21):
you're you're out here, while you'retrying to protect children, you're also ruining
them. Yeah, yeah, don'tdon't steal the child's innocence. Let them
be children, man, They alreadyhave enough stuff to deal with in this
world, you know. Yeah, and sorry, Darbiel. And one more
thing is I'm already I already gothrough a lot because it can happen to

(28:44):
boys as much as it can happento girls as far as like the whole
pedophile thing. Yeah, but iam. I've for years I have been
very funny about when it comes tomy daughter. I'm not overly protect live
where I look at every guy like, oh he could be or he is.
But at the same point, Ido like not guys that I know

(29:07):
personally, but I'm always like stayclose by where I can see you,
or like, don't talk to thatman, don't you know, don't go
under sit on a couch and undercoverswith a man, or don't let them
touch you. If somebody touches youinappropriately, you tell somebody or you tell
me. Like so it's already I'malready going through that thing, that type

(29:29):
of thing as a mom with avery young, beautiful girl, and so
like that just does not help, not helpful, not helpful at all.
All Right, stay tuned, andwe have Tomas. Welcome them next here
on the Outlaws. True Sir,pray ye, welcome back. Listen to

(30:00):
the Outlaws. And now it's thetime to show that we'd like to call
Tea Time with Roe. Turn itup Spectation, the latest celebrity news and
gossip. It's Tea Time with Roeon the out Rows Radio show. All
right, y'all, So the teathis week is insane? Like what is

(30:22):
going on right now? First andforemost, when I hear the name Sean,
I think P Diddy, right,because I'm pretty sure that's his name,
right, But no, and whooriginally sings that? You went silent

(30:45):
again? Oh well, it didn'twant to hear me, did it?
So we are So basically, theperson I am speaking on is Sean Kingston.
He is a singer who came outof god, I don't even know
what twenty nineteen, maybe even earlier, oh earlier than that, way earlier

(31:06):
than that, maybe maybe two thousandand nine. Probably that sounds about right
with okay, So yeah, thatsounds about so Sean Kingston. First of
all, he makes great music, absolute great music, and I never imagined
to hear this story about him.So Sean Kingston's Florida home was recently rated

(31:30):
over the failure to pay one hundredand fifty thousand dollars in debt. Now,
I guess there's been multiple charges ofthe of this debt. Okay.
So originally I think it was overlike a cabinet or something of the sort.
It was some home furnishings, butthere was other things on TV.

(31:52):
Wasn't it a TV, like alarge extra large TV or something like that.
I think that's one of the things. There was actually more. Yeah,
really it was one and one thatokay. Yeah, So he the
person, the company that he owedthe money to, was actually outside his
home during the rating while the newswas there and everybody was there, and

(32:14):
they're like, yeah, we cometo collect, you know what I mean.
And so it's not like it wasjust over furniture. Furniture, right,
So it was basically the fact thathe actually just did not pay it.
He refused. He actually had weeksand months to pay it, and
he just refused to pay it.He never paid any of it. So
they raided his home and he gotarrested, and you that is not it.

(32:37):
It don't stop there. His mamagot arrested too, for fraud.
And I could not believe my ears. I could not believe my eyes because
I'm just blown away. Not onlySean Kingston, who I personally look at
and I'm like, oh, he'sso sweet and innocent. He's such a

(32:58):
good singer, you know, andI guess you cannot judge a book by
its covered. But his mama alsogot arrested, and that is bizarre,
like what not for mama. Sofrom my understanding, the mama got arrested
first. Yeah, the mama gotarrested first, from my understanding. Number
one. Number two, from frommy understanding, it was an issue of

(33:24):
he had he didn't pay. Hepaid him something, but he didn't pay
all the money he was supposed to, and he was supposed to be giving
them publicity on social media and hedid with with Justin Bieber. Justin Bieber,
that's right, that's right, whois his friend. So, yeah,

(33:45):
he didn't hold up his end ofthe deal. I personally, I'm
surprised that it got escalated to thepoint where there was a raid of a
raid on his house. I wouldthink that, you know, you to
him, take him the court orwhatever, and you know, because this
sounds like a civil case. Itdoesn't sound like a criminal situation to me,

(34:07):
but were about it that we don'tknow. I am surprised that his
house got raided though, So itdoes say right here, DARBYO, you
were correct about the television. Soit says that the swat team, along
with numerous sheriffs, they came in, they circled the home. A civil
complaint was filed on Kingston, receivedby Broward Clerk of Courts from Verver Entertainment

(34:34):
Company and that's who he got itfrom, alleging that Sean Kingston missed his
payments for the entertainment system that includeda two hundred and thirty two inch television.
The complaint also it alleged that thefull amount was never paid after the
installation was completed, and the complaintfurther alleges that Kingston used his home he
uses his fame to scan businesses outof services and product without paying fully.

(35:00):
And it says the attorney, anattorney for the company said, quote unquote,
my client has over one hundred andfifty thousand dollars television sound system that's
in there. There's also about onemillion worth of watches that are in there.
In eighty thousand custom bed that wasordered. Then this has organized a

(35:21):
systematic fraud. His mother was takeninto custody on numerous fraud and theft charges
as well. Yeah, I'm justI'm surprised. I'm really surprised that it
got escalated to this point. Butwe'll see. But the other thing,

(35:42):
the last thing on this from meis do you know how big a damn
two hundred and thirty two inch TVis? Yeah, I honestly I can't
even imagine. I'm trying to,but it's not in my tax bracket,
you know. So yah, Likethat's whole wall huge, that is you.

(36:07):
And you know, here's the crazything though, you know where his
story came. So he actually camefrom the mud, you know what I
mean a lot of people if peopledon't know what came from the mud means
like he came from the struggle. He grew like, he grew up and
they they had, they were goingwithout, they didn't have very much,
they were struggling. His mom actually, so during the time of Sean Kingston's

(36:32):
growing growth of during the time ofcoming up in fame, his mom was
actually incarcerated at that time when hejust came out and he was homeless when
his first song dropped. Wow,he was still homeless when his first song
dropped. And that is absolutely crazy, darbio. And so I think we

(36:53):
were talking about this a little bitoff air where you were saying I think
it, you know, I thinkI'm gonna be speak with you mama.
Uh. But so as far asthat goes is, I really never would
have thought about that where it's likewhere we battle our old self and our
new selves. Yeah, yeah, where she was saying that, you know,

(37:19):
it's like where he was he could. You know, these artists they
tend to battle themselves where it's likethey can't get out of that lifestyle because
that is what they are accustomed to, right. I never really would have
thought about that. But then whenI think back, I'm like, dang,
like if we actually when we takethe when I take a second,
and I think, well, whenwe do healing and we work on ourselves,

(37:39):
we tend to battle our old selfand our new self, like triggers
of things like oh, this ishow I used to react to the situation,
or this is what I used todo, or how I would get
through this situation versus what I mynew self would do and so at first
because I was like so confused andlibergasted. I'm like, why do these

(38:01):
artists that are celebrities and have somuch money and fame do this to themselves?
But I guess now I understand ina way. Yep, absolutely,
next, Oh, this next one. It is a big pot of tea.

(38:21):
Okay, everybody already knows. I'msure if you don't know, there
has been a big uproar and abig thing with P Diddy, and P
Diddy is a I guess he's arapper singer. He is well, he
was one of the biggest hip hopmogals in the country and easy the billionaire

(38:46):
close to a billionaire. He was. He was an American success story until
all of this came out. Butgo ahead, Yeah, from like back
in the nineties, he was abig thing. He actually he wrote a
lot of songs for a lot ofpeople, like he was. He was
huge, like a lot. I'msad, guy, Listen, I'm upset

(39:08):
because a lot of the songs thatI absolutely love, like, I feel
guilty now listening to you kind oflike the whole r Kelly thing, you
know. But so let me juststate I'm not going to go into full
detail, but I'll just give alittle brief history on it. So,
there was a video that came outof P Diddy abusing Cassie in a hotel,

(39:34):
and it has it was happening overtime. So now that that came
out, so before that, Cassieactually I think I may have covered this
story before where Cassie came out andshe pressed charges on Ditty for that very
situation and she just ended up settlingwith receiving a certain funds. Yeah,

(39:57):
shooting, pressed charges. It wasa lawsuit because it was it was beyond
the So after the video came out, Cassie was silent for a while and
everybody was everybody has been very upsetover the situation because we do not take
abuse in any way lightly. Sohe did he did put out a video

(40:22):
apologizing, explaining, you know,he you know, he was down and
out in life at you know,at that time, and that he is
he was upset with himself and grewhimself then as well as now. So
he did put out put out,you know, his apology, and I'm
not really sure you know how totake that, you know, whatever,

(40:46):
whatever anybody however they take it,they take it. I know how I
feel, but I'll leave it atthat. Passie finally spoke out and she
said, quote unquote, thank youfor all of the love and support for
my family, friends, strangers, and those I have yet to meet.
The outpouring of love has created aplace for my younger self to settle and

(41:09):
feel safe now. But this isthe only beginning. This is only the
beginning. Domestic violence is the issue. It broke me down to someone I
never thought I would become. Witha lot of hard work, I am
better today, but I will alwaysbe recovering for my past. Thank you
to everyone that has taken the timeto take the matter seriously. My only

(41:30):
ask is that everyone opened your heartto be leaving victims the first time.
It takes a lot of heart totell the truth out of a situation that
you were powerless in. I offermy hand to those that are still living
in fear. Reach out to yourpeople, don't cut them off. No
one should ever carry this weight alone. This healing journey is never ending,

(41:51):
but this support means everything to me. Thank you, love always, Catsie.
So I have one issue, oneissue, but I believe it alone.
Other than that, I thought thatwas a very powerful statement. I'm

(42:15):
glad she made it. That videowas horrific. What I mean, he
beat the hell out of it.Was like the ray Rice video when Ray
Rice, who was playing for theBaltimore Ravens at the time, hunch that,
you know what out of his girlfriendin the elevator. It's just it's

(42:39):
no place for it. It's justnot acceptable. I don't I am I
gonna go there? Am I gonnago there? I don't know, Okay,
I'm just gonna say this very quickly. I don't like the whole believe
everybody thing, because some people's storiesaren't believable, but there were many people.

(43:05):
Most people believed Cassie, like whenit came out some of the allegations
from the beginning. There have beenrumors that she was being abused by Daddy
all the way back to when theywere still in relationship together, even just
from some of the videos pictures, she never really looked happy when she was

(43:27):
with him. So I wasn't surprised. It was shocking to see it,
and it was I mean that thatthat behavior was just that was awful,
And so Diddy said in his videothat he was fed up at the time

(43:50):
and you know, he apologized andsaid he was said he had got some
help. Now, I hope it'ssincere. I'm not the person. Only
God can judge. I can't saywhether he's sincere or not. I don't
know as hard. I do knowthat he's been new that he had anger
management issues. This is not newhe had. I believe he had to
go to anger management in nineteen ninetynine when he was with him and Jennifer

(44:15):
Lopez was together and Shine and himgot into that fight with somebody else in
the club, and you know, allegedly Puffy shot some dude and Shine ended
up taking the rap for it.That's why Sean went to jail and ended
up getting deported eventually. Wow,yeah, so did he. Ben knew

(44:37):
he had an anger management issue. So I hope he's sincere. I hope
he's sincerely getting the help that hedeserved. One of the reasons why I've
never been a big fan of ofthese topics, and you know that Robert,
and I'm pulling the curtain back alittle bit. I'm not a big

(44:58):
fan of these because I don't likewhen I look at social media and I
look at some of the comments andpeople are making It's like they enjoyed dancing
on people's graves and they forget thatlike real people are involved in these situations,
and I don't think that it's helpfulto you know, just it's like

(45:20):
they just they want more and moreand more. It's like they're bloodthirsty and
it just becomes just about the contentand not about the situation. It's like,
look, what happened to Cassie wasawful. It was awful. It
was absolutely horrific. And did heshould get help? And I hope he

(45:43):
sincere. I hope he meant whathe said because that was clearly a video
of a man who needs help. And this is, like I said,
he's known for twenty years or overtwenty years that he has anger management issues.
Yeah, yeah, I do wantto say, I know what you

(46:05):
were saying as far as because thereare women who lie just to you know,
get revenge on a man. Andby the way, just for the
record, right, and so Iwouldn't say entirely not to not believe every
story, but take it light, like you know what I mean, don't

(46:27):
take it lightly. That's a difference. Yeah, absolutely, I agree with
that. I agree with that becauseit's you know, in this day and
age, it's really hard to tellwho is lying, who's not lying,
you know, what the situation is. Did like not that because first and
foremost, it's not okay to puta fir a man to put his hands
on a woman, also vice versa. But you know, you have to

(46:54):
you have to take that seriously becausewe really don't. We don't know what's
going on, we don't. Iagree with that. I think that's a
I think there's a difference. Likeobviously, I don't like the whole you
know, believe all women because somewomen aren't. Just are telling the truth.

(47:15):
Let's just be honest. But weshould take allegations seriously. I absolutely
agree with that, totally agree withthat. Just pay attention to the signs.
Yeah, I mean that's step one. Pay attention to the signs and
if need be, do wellness checks. Just listen to them, you know,
don't don't don't immediately go into ohyou do you're doing this to this

(47:38):
person, you're doing this, oryou're doing that, you know, just
pay attention to the signs, rightright, and take take it seriously.
And like you said, pay attentionto the sales because I will say there
was a guy, this is astory here locally who I don't know if
it was ten years ago, fifteenyears ago, something like that, who

(47:59):
was accused of rape. He wasa star football player and possibly could have
went, you know, to theNFL, was getting ready to go to
college, and everything he was accusedof rape went. I think he went
to jail, lost everything, losthis entire career opportunities and all of that.
Believe this was out of Garfial Heightsonly for a few for like a

(48:22):
couple of years after that, forthe for the woman to come out and
that Mitch, you made the wholething up. Wow, wow, Yeah,
did she get jail time for that? No, they don't. They
don't punish like, which I thinkthey should as a deterrence if you just
flat out live, if you justflat out lives, you know. So

(48:49):
I think we have to learn howto balance these things, because we should
take these things seriously. Mhm.But there are those incidents are real,
Those things are real, Yeah, absolutely, you know. And and and

(49:12):
this man of course, now hisname was cleared, but he lost everything.
I feel like they should have gaveit all back to him. Well,
what can you what can you doif you weren't, you couldn't go
to college, you're out of football, you know, your your football prime

(49:32):
and all of that, Like whatwhat can you do? That's the that's
the issue in a lot of thosesituations. Uhh, Like that's the problem.
So it's like these these things shouldalways be very very they should be
taken very seriously. They're not somethingto play with, Like that's the issue.

(50:05):
It's like these things are like really, these are tough conversations. Yeah,
and that's one of the reasons whyI don't like having because there's no
there you can't win, you knowwhat I mean, you can't win.
There's no there's no winning in theseconversations because they're all really difficult because there

(50:30):
are women who are abused and sometimesthey don't make it out right. Absolutely
absolutely, and we should take thosethings seriously, you know what I do.
I'm sorry, I was gonna say. I do just want to suggest

(50:51):
and recommend, and I say thiswith I say this with love to the
men that have anger issues. Ifyou feel like you are in that situation
where I don't know whatever whatever thatis that's stirring the pot, that's just
making you feel that much anger.Definitely, just you know, step away

(51:19):
and just I think you should gotalk to somebody, go see a therapist,
you know, work on that becauseI don't know if it's like a
mentally ill thing, I don't knowhealth can you know, health issues,
you know, as far as thatgoes. Just just go get help women
women as well. If you feellike you're you're the same the same way,

(51:40):
same way, same thing. Yeah, yeah, because obviously this is
a this as a a situation wheredid he clearly have some issues, clearly
like there's no doubt about it,and he needed he needed some help,

(52:08):
he needed anger management. Yep.And you know what I do want to
end my my side of this withladies, there is a happy ending,
Like I know it's it'll be toughand it'll be a rough road. But

(52:30):
in Cassie's situation, she is nowhappily married to a very good man who
treats her well, he protects her, and he loves her holy So it
is possible, right, absolutely absolutelyso. I just I'll just say this

(52:54):
and closing, if you are inthat situation, you know, reach out
and get some get some help, get out of that situation. If you're
in an abusive situation, get outas fast as you can, as soon
as you can, because sometimes, you know, people don't make it out,

(53:17):
you know. We we saw asituation up here, I think about
a year ago, a year anda half ago of a judge form a
judge who had been abusive to hiswife or ex wife I think they might
have been divorced at that point orwhatever, and then he ended up killing
her. Yeah. So if you'rein those situations, I mean, if

(53:43):
you're in an abusive you know, situation, like get out, do do
whatever you can and get out becauseyour life and your life. Nothing is
more important than your life, Nothingis more important. So make sure that
you do whatever you can get outof those situations. Reach reach out to
people. If you can't do italone, reach out to people that can

(54:05):
help you and get out of theirsituations. And just to reiterate what Robin
said for men, and in fairnesswith women too, because there are some
women who are abusive to We knowthat too. Anybody who has who thinks
they're struggling with being able to controltheir anger, having anger issues and need

(54:28):
anger management, make sure you seekout help too. Hurt people. Hurt
people, whether that's physically, emotionally, psychologically, or otherwise. So if
you need some help, don't beafraid to go get some help with whatever
you're dealing with. Whether you're ina in an abuse situation, whether you're

(54:49):
being abused, or whether you're someonewho is losing control and being abusive.
You know, get get help,Get help, all right, missle Balley
on that feutiful end. Let everybodyknow how to follow you on social media?
Yes, well I have more chipperthings that you can see upon my
