Doppler Finance is a yield generation protocol built on the XRP Ledger (XRPL) ecosystem, introducing a new paradigm called "XRPfi." It enables XRP holders to earn yields on their XRP and other assets within the XRPL ecosystem by transforming idle XRP into active assets that generate income. Doppler Finance bridges this gap by offering institutional-grade yield strategies, liquid staking services on XRPL sidechains, and lending protocols.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Today we're going to be diving into XRP DeFi where
trap liquidity could be and maybe the biggest opportunity out
there in the XRP ecosystem. Let's jump right into it.
I do want to thank our sponsor, and that's Coinbase.
This is where you guys. By the way, if you're
a business, you can actually start an account over on
coinbase dot com. When you sign up, it's going to

(00:20):
ask you for your business identification, your setup documents. It's
very easy to go through that process and you can
actually have a business account and an individual count So
use our link down below. It's going to help you, guys,
get started and sign up. Where the future of money
is going and that of course is into the crypto market.
A lot of news going out there in the market.
One of the topics that we've been asked to cover

(00:42):
here on the show is yield bearing assets such as XRP.
One of them, of course comes through the way of
Doppler finance. You can kind of see XRPL continuing to
grow in terms of its total value and if you
look at the current position right now on Doppler, all
so growing in general. So we thought let's reach out
to the Doppler team and get one of their advisors

(01:05):
to come in and tell us a little bit more. So,
I want to welcome Max Zang, who is an advisor
over at dopper Finance.

Speaker 2 (01:10):
Great to have you, Thank you for having me.

Speaker 3 (01:12):
It's a great honor. So a few episodes already, so
very great to speak to you.

Speaker 1 (01:17):
So Max, let's get into a little bit about First
of all, looks like Doppler's about to hit the one
hundred million mark in total locked and continuing to grow.
What is your anticipation in terms of growth here for
Doppler in general, especially when it comes to XRP.

Speaker 3 (01:34):
Sure, so, while the XRP price is currently still floating
around two to three dollars, were bere positive fult price
itself in terms of all TBL, they're actually quite a
number of catalysts that the Doppler team.

Speaker 2 (01:51):
Is striving for.

Speaker 3 (01:54):
One of the recent ones is the is our integration
with decent Wallet.

Speaker 2 (01:59):
So decent Wallet is one of the.

Speaker 3 (02:01):
Niche wallets in the XOP space, a very big holders
hold account in South Korea and debt integration enables that
you know, these users can now deposit XRP and then
there and yields. From what I've seen in statistics have
shown that that has sold out within I think ten
minutes fifteen minutes, right, and that was like sixteen million

(02:24):
dollars of worth XRP.

Speaker 2 (02:27):
So hopefully we will see.

Speaker 3 (02:28):
You know that the trust what it will look at
us that Exodus Wallet may consider dopp the finance as
a back end infrastructure for for you know this XRP yield.

Speaker 1 (02:40):
Well, yeah, yeah, this could definitely create a little bit
of a domino effect if Descent is successful with this,
and obviously we've talked about Descent before on the on
the channel, I'm trying to get the tangum guys they
should probably be trying to connect up as well for
Doppler to start to connect into this. Overall, when you
you consider, really I think for some of our viewers

(03:03):
and listeners an explanation of what Doppler Finance does, especially
within the ecosystem of XRP. Explain to me, first of all,
what do you guys do and how do you generate yield?

Speaker 3 (03:16):
I think it's important to understand that the underlying problem
was always that XRP is considered an idle asset, right,
It's opassive. You know, you cannot earn yields natively because
it does not rely on proof of.

Speaker 2 (03:29):
Steak, and that's a big problem.

Speaker 3 (03:32):
We're talking about one hundred and eighty billion worth of
XRP that's sitting idle essentially. So Doppler saw this need
for providing heels and therefore created vaults XRP yield vaults
where people can now deposit their XRP and then earn
three to four percent in yields. And the way Doppler

(03:54):
generates these fields is currently through trading. Pomers of these
trading problems are deploying trading strategies mostly delta neutral principle protected.
Those are funding rates, farming basis trades market neutral strategies,
and they generate yield and they get returns to the user.

Speaker 1 (04:17):
That is coming in right now at a seven to
ten percent setting on the XRP reward three to four
And I think most XRP holders would probably say, yeah,
that's a great opportunity. But you also get the XRP
community out there that talks about there's no way they
would ever let their XRP go or go into platforms
they don't trust. How would you present a case to

(04:38):
an XRP user that would say, well, wait, the team
is not doxed yet, we're looking at all kinds of
problems within the crypto market. What makes Doppler safe and
a good bet for an XRP holder today?

Speaker 3 (04:53):
Yes, I think there are a number of components that
would speak for the credibility of dopal finance. Number one
is the backing, the official backing.

Speaker 2 (05:03):
Of reptable VC firms.

Speaker 3 (05:06):
That that have strong affiliations to the Ripple ecosystem, and
namely that would be Reforch. Reforch is a ripple backed
fund that invested in numerous Ripple companies. Then there's ccg
uh long, one of the oldest investors in the entire

(05:27):
crypto space. We also have backing from mayven eleven, c
m C C, Hashkei Capital.

Speaker 2 (05:32):
And on top of that.

Speaker 3 (05:34):
We you know, Dougler already has one hundred million, close
close one hundred million in.

Speaker 2 (05:39):
Tv L that is trusted money.

Speaker 3 (05:42):
And then finally, and I think that's the final component
dot The finance is audited by cerdig and Zenith, which
are top tier auditors that have some track record within
the XRP ecosystem, which it was technical I guess due diligence,
and then that paired with what's publicly available in the

(06:04):
doctor documentation where you can read up on the technical stuff.
But also this CD five model, right, which I think
is key to this whole equation, gives it the round
adopt kind of safety measure, making it extremely secure in
terms of various risks that play into this model.

Speaker 1 (06:28):
Yeah, I was just kind of scrolling through the companies
that you guys are backed by, and there's quite a
few in here that obviously have been in the industry
for quite some time. So kudos to Doppler for being
able to put this together. Do you think we'll see,
especially with the digital asset treasuries, do you think we're
going to start to see more companies starting to kind

(06:49):
of support networks like Doppler. When we've talked about Vivo Power,
one of the largest out there in terms of a
XRP digital asset treasury, now talking about deploying like thirty
million into Doppler. This will be the first stage of
a two hundred million dollar XRP yield program. Do you
think if they come in have good experience, that we

(07:10):
could see a whole slew of dat start to move
into doppler.

Speaker 3 (07:15):
For sure, there's a massive GAT wave that's just waiting
to roll, and so obviously a few power is one
of the first movers, one.

Speaker 2 (07:23):
Of the biggest out there as well.

Speaker 3 (07:25):
I know that Doctor is talking to all XRP relevant
DAT treasuries. I guess from a timeline perspective, you need
to understand two variables. One the variable with other the
money is actually raised, so are the treasury is finalized?
And the second part is are they technical and regulatory

(07:46):
frameworks ready to actually receive these funds from institutions? And
so both are in the final stages. From my understanding,
maybe I can comment briefly on both variables. The first
one rebinding DAT is actually having the funds.

Speaker 2 (08:04):
From all the conversation.

Speaker 3 (08:06):
That I've heard and I'm involved with, they are at
the final stages.

Speaker 2 (08:11):
So funds need.

Speaker 3 (08:12):
To be raised, they need to be closed, but once
they're closed, they'll be ready to be deployed. And then
the second variable comes into place, which is can could
Doctor even you know, receive it?

Speaker 2 (08:23):
And the short answer is.

Speaker 3 (08:25):
Yes, but even that has to be strictly coordinated with
the respective DAT, with the respective partners and play and
that is in the final stage. We see it with
Bitcoin treasuries, we see it with there Treasure and Solana treasuries.
Those are obviously custodied by regulatory compliant custom providers, and

(08:47):
so that the missing piece right now.

Speaker 1 (08:51):
Okay, So with that being said, you look at the variation.
If you look at just MXRP, it's a good example
right here, only thirty million in TVL right now. These
are other competitive products out there. But the point being
is that we haven't seen mass adoption into being able,
especially in the yield protocols, to be able to really

(09:14):
kind of migrate a lot of XRP, and I would
think you would think, I would hope is that you'd
see at least one or two percent of TVL within
XRP starting to move into these yield bearing platforms. Why
do you think we have not seen that massive growth
like we've seen it over on these other platforms with
other chains.

Speaker 3 (09:35):
I love that question because I think fundamentally XRP holders
and XOP investors are very different from other cryptal investors.
So when you look at the demographics, and I can
share a few insights because dopplers hosting community events in
Japan and Korea, where the market share is over thirty

(09:57):
five to forty percent. Just just in playing numbers over
eight billion dollars in market capt sits in Korea and Japan,
and Doppler is hosting offline community events where they invite
hundreds of XARP whales out there, and they have statistic

(10:18):
they ran, you know, surveys, collected all the data and
the and here's the interesting thing.

Speaker 2 (10:24):
The average age of these XARP investors.

Speaker 3 (10:27):
Is around forty five to fifty, right, So those are
really I want to be careful old folks, and these
older people, they are very very careful with their money, right,
so it takes much more time to convince them and
also educate them into you know, applying their previously centralized

(10:49):
exchange held XRP to be deployed on it.

Speaker 2 (10:53):
Right.

Speaker 3 (10:53):
So I think the shift is just the fundamentally slower,
but it's inevitable that it will happen once every one's
picked up, everyone's eddicated, and the respective tools are easy
to use.

Speaker 1 (11:09):
Yeah, so you're saying, really, it's just a matter of time.
This is kind of the argument we've had even within
my own research team, when we're kind of looking at
the different yield platforms. Why haven't we seen the TVL
pick up quickly? And I kind of agree with you,
is that it is a much more cautious crowd when
you look at the XRP community in general, I would
say even more cautious than maybe even the bitcoiners that

(11:29):
are out there for sure. So I would agree that
that makes sense. Again, I got to see it happen,
because those are the things. The other thing, of course,
is before I get into that, in terms of the
complexity of being able to start to earn yield on
your assets, explain to me the differences between if you
look at flair what they're able to do, actual largist

(11:51):
launch their program with midas. You have all these different
platforms that are now starting to generate yield asset pability.
What makes Doppler different.

Speaker 3 (12:02):
There's also no definitive answer. However, I think the basis
for everyone's own decision should be risk appetite, and that's
where the difference is.

Speaker 1 (12:13):
Right.

Speaker 3 (12:14):
Doppler finance is fully deployed natively on XRPL. There's no bridging,
there's no collateralization or anything like that that other platforms
may have, Right, so you need to really read into
the fine print and see what happens with your XRP.

Speaker 2 (12:34):
Whether it's a bridge to another chain or whether it's
colateralized whatsoever. Right, And so it comes down to risk appetite.

Speaker 3 (12:43):
I think that's part number one, and the second part.

Speaker 2 (12:46):
Will be you know, nobody wants to be first and
everyone wants to be second.

Speaker 3 (12:51):
And so I think what one major, one major decision
making factor is also who's going to be the first.

Speaker 2 (12:59):
I know that that Flair has also previously.

Speaker 3 (13:01):
Announced a polishable fever power, right, but viver For has
actually not yet deployed you real hard cash, and so
everyone's waiting for that moment of the actually capital right,
and so I think that will be again one of
the domino first dominos that will fall and then everyone

(13:22):
will follow, you know whatever instance.

Speaker 1 (13:26):
Listen, if you're right, you could see an absolute wave
of capital coming in uh into these markets. So, but
one of the things that has always held this up,
at least in my opinion, has been access. If you
look at just over on the Doppler website, I'm looking
here on the wallets that are here. I mean not

(13:46):
that people don't know the Gaman wallet, it's not you know,
but it's in most cases meta mass coin based et cetera.
Even one of our sponsors, Tangent, those are not available
right now. Is there a plan to start to accelerate
or even a wallet connect something that would really start
to open up the ability to get to more access
of funds.

Speaker 2 (14:05):
That's a very fair question.

Speaker 3 (14:07):
I know that Doddler is talking to almost all x
RP related wallets, including Tangent. Tangent, by the way, it
is also backed by DCG, So yeah, you know Doddler
and the same investor. I know they're talking and it's
just a matter of time when they will actually.

Speaker 2 (14:24):
Integrate with them.

Speaker 3 (14:25):
The most crucial point is whether that's a meta mask
or or some other wallet is supporting XRPL natively as
a as a chain, because that's kind of a requirement
for for dopper Finance, right. We need to be because
we put so much emphasis into that everything should be native.
We want the wallet to already support that, you know,

(14:47):
the XRP ledger, right, and therefore I think that's.

Speaker 2 (14:50):
Number one, and then number two is just a matter
of times.

Speaker 3 (14:52):
So I know that the pipeline for doper Finance is
all major wallets to set the previously mentioned, and so
right now I think it's all about to set up
in coordination.

Speaker 1 (15:06):
I know that your site, or I should say the
Doppler site says coming soon. Is there any estimated date
on the r l USD vaults as in terms of availability.

Speaker 3 (15:16):
Yeah, I've heard internally that it will be around November, November.

Speaker 2 (15:21):
Board December.

Speaker 1 (15:22):
Wow, okay, very soon. Wow. Well that will be good
in terms of the kind of your your framework of
the trust line model, because this is one of the
things that has kind of kept people, I want to say,
keep them from from it, but it's a more technical
process to be able to move XRPN to a platform

(15:44):
like this. Do you feel like that has been a
problem in terms of dealing with trust lines? And I
know it was Jaman even they you know, came out
and did an update here which removed one of the
biggest hurdles, which is the need for trust lines within that.
But there's still some you know, a little bit of
a duct tape approach here. Nothing wrong with the genre wallet,

(16:04):
but they're trying to fix a problem that probably shouldn't
even exist. Any plans for that in the future to
kind of make that more seamless that's.

Speaker 2 (16:13):
Actually a big problem.

Speaker 3 (16:14):
I remember when I first had to set up the
trust line, was completely confused.

Speaker 2 (16:20):
But that's actually a.

Speaker 3 (16:22):
Problem that wallets have not double the finance, So double
the finance is merely using the wallet to be the gateway.
And but I totally agree with you, the trust lines
should be something that should have never existed in the
first place, or should be programmed or much more intuitive
to solve and create.

Speaker 1 (16:42):
Listen, I think a sharp wallet engineer out there could
solve this problem if given enough time and effort. But
I think the concern is is that you know, they
they're not sure yet that there's going to be a
big demand for it. I think if a wallet were
to come out and make this super sexy integrated into
where you could literally gain access to vaults, etc. Inside

(17:04):
the wallet, like what we've seen with Sewey network, they've
done this already, there are you know, good roadmaps for that.
I think that would make a huge difference in terms
of adoption for a lot of the XRP crowd. For sure,
we're gonna be watching very closely. I'm interested in what
you guys are doing and what the Doppler team is
up to. So We're gonna be watching very closely this

(17:26):
things start to develop. So thanks so much for coming
in on the show today. I appreciate it.

Speaker 2 (17:29):
Thank you for very time. It's a pleasure.
