Speaker 1 (00:09):
How are you doing, everybody. I'm ten, bikeoff and welcome
to the Piagus post game Live.
Speaker 2 (00:13):
The Hoosiers open the season at one to zero with
a win over Old Dominion.
Speaker 1 (00:19):
Twenty seven to fourteen.
Speaker 2 (00:20):
That I think is certainly a positive that Indiana's off
to a win, and it is very nice to feel
like you could have seen a hell of a lot
more from the Hoosiers. They left opportunities on the field,
put more points on the board, but they walked away
with the win, and that is incredibly important.
Speaker 1 (00:39):
I am.
Speaker 2 (00:41):
Out in the parking lots outside of Memorial Stadium near
the Tennis Center on the north side of Assembly Hall.
If you're in the parking lot, want to come by
give your thoughts on the game. We have a microphone here.
We have a little setup canopy our flag. I'm excited
eight one, two, three, nine three, six hundred is the number,
(01:01):
and really excited about it. Really excited about this new
season and the fact that Indiana's off to a one
and oh start. Interesting takeaway from this game. A couple
of quick ones from me before I get to calls,
because we already got a caller.
Speaker 1 (01:16):
On the line.
Speaker 2 (01:17):
Indiana five hundred and two yards of total offense in
this one, including running for three hundred and nine. Rom
at Hemby had twenty three carries for one hundred and
ten yards. Kaylon Black seventeen carries for ninety two yards.
Fernando Mendoza looked solid. He was accurate with his passes.
For the most part, Indiana's defense did a very nice job.
Speaker 1 (01:39):
Say, for basically two plays.
Speaker 2 (01:41):
Old Dominion did not run a single offensive snap from
Indiana's side of the of the field, and yet the
Hoosiers did give up two touchdowns in the win. Eight
one to two, three, nine to three, twenty six hundred
is your number. We'll go right on over to our
our first color caller if I could have your name,
(02:02):
where you're from, and what you got.
Speaker 3 (02:08):
Hey, this is David from Boca ra'son Florida.
Speaker 1 (02:12):
Hi. How are you?
Speaker 3 (02:13):
My question is I'm doing well?
Speaker 4 (02:15):
Thank you so good first game?
Speaker 3 (02:17):
A lot to improve on watch the tape, but I'm wondering,
since there's no depth chart, any surprises of who played
and who didn't play in the snap count.
Speaker 2 (02:26):
You know, I tend not to worry too much about
who played in the snapcount and everything that goes along
with that, and The reason is the depth chart who
starts the game for football in particular is not tremendously
important to me because of the fact that it just
you swap guys in and out so often as you do.
(02:47):
Khalil Benson on the right side, though, I think was
a little bit of a surprise because you know, there
were others that had had worked in there quite a
bit during camp, and you know, he was solid. But
I wanted to see more out of this offensive lines day.
And it's weird to say that when you're talking about
five hundred yards of total offense, But I just wanted
(03:08):
to be able to see them push around Odu a
little bit more than we saw and that isn't it.
So there's plenty of room for them to improve. I'm
excited to see where they develop. I can tell you
this much. MIGHT comment at halftime, Indiana didn't come back
out until about three minutes before the start of the
second second half. I said that they must have had
(03:30):
to take some time to sweep up all the paint
that sig peeled off the walls because the Hoosiers didn't
play well. And I know is his postgame press conference
is going on right now, he's pretty pissed off about
Indiana's performance, So that's kind of where they are with that.
Speaker 3 (03:50):
Yeah, good first game. Just pointed was the defensive line,
lack of push, lack of I guess, pecking the quarterback
at least for the first half. And then what do
you think about that as well?
Speaker 2 (04:01):
Yeah, so you know it's a the lack of let's
start with the quarterback play. You asked about the quarterback play, correct, No,
some of.
Speaker 3 (04:13):
The d line affecting the mini quarterbacks.
Speaker 1 (04:16):
Oh yeah, no, I was I would have preferred to
see a little bit more of a little bit more penetration.
Speaker 5 (04:23):
You know.
Speaker 2 (04:24):
I thought that older you more than held their own
at the ponent of attack. And that's a bit of
a concern for me because you really want Indiana the
defensive line to maybe be a little bit more disruptive
than what we saw. And so that's something that the
Hoosiers are are going to have to work on because
when you start playing some big ten teams, you got
to be able to get pressure on the quarterback, and
(04:44):
Indiana I don't think did a real good job with
that today.
Speaker 3 (04:48):
Yeah, I agree. Ryan gives the FYU game last year
a lot to work on, but you know you want
to know, and I appreciate all your efforts and go Hoosiers,
thank you so much.
Speaker 1 (04:59):
Really, we appreciate it all right.
Speaker 2 (05:02):
Two three nine three twenty six hundred is your number.
We're over again in the parking lot of Memorial Stadium
taking your calls. If you want to swing on by,
grab a microphone, you're more than welcome to join me
on the air.
Speaker 1 (05:16):
Here.
Speaker 2 (05:17):
We got another caller, the coming in caller. If you
have your name, where you're from, and.
Speaker 1 (05:21):
What you got?
Speaker 6 (05:25):
Hey, Ken, you got me?
Speaker 1 (05:27):
I got you.
Speaker 6 (05:29):
Hey, I'm Adrian from Nashville, Tennessee. How you doing. And
I just wanted to say I appreciate you doing this, Ken,
I really really enjoy you putting in this time after
these games. I really appreciate its wanting to let you
know that first.
Speaker 2 (05:41):
Off, well, I appreciate that, and I really appreciate you
calling in too. This is something that I really really
enjoy and have been trying real hard to try to
kind of improve what we do here and work out
the Kingston season two. And so I'm excited that we're
able to bring this to you, especially all the way
in Tennessee.
Speaker 1 (05:58):
I appreciate you listening.
Speaker 6 (06:00):
Well, you know, it's one of those things. I'm fifty,
you know, fifty years old. Now, there was a day
when I was a kid and calling shows were just
kind of the regular thing, you know, So it's great
to kind of have.
Speaker 5 (06:09):
That for us.
Speaker 6 (06:10):
But I'll let the first off ken. I mean, I'm
not going to overreact or underreact. I think a lot
of people can. I mean, I was certainly disappointing in
a lot of aspects of the game, but I think
if I had to say something I was happy about. Obviously,
the stable running backs looks very good. I felt pretty
good about that. But and like you had mentioned earlier,
another caller mentioned a little bit disappointed just by the
(06:32):
physical You could see the physical mismatch and IU in
the red zone not being able to get the push.
I thought that should have been very simple, and the
D line not to be able to get penetration. Those
are probably the two, outside of any scheming or outside
of any plays that I felt like I you should
have had an advantage of and didn't. But again, first game,
(06:54):
not to overreact. I just wanted to call in and
let you know how much I appreciate you doing this show,
and I'm gonna keep watching, but I'll hang up and listen.
I appreciate it.
Speaker 1 (07:03):
Ken, thank you so much for the kind words. I
really appreciate that. You know, it is Indiana.
Speaker 2 (07:09):
You did expect them to dominate a little bit more
at the line of scrimmage in terms of being able
to just push Odu around a little bit more than
they did, and that's that's one thing that was disappointing
in this And again it is odd because you know
they have five hundred and two yards of total offense,
but defensively, you just wanted to see them be more disruptive.
(07:30):
And it's weird to say that when you're talking about
a team that gave up fourteen points essentially just gave
up two long runs.
Speaker 1 (07:36):
But hey, you got to be consistent.
Speaker 2 (07:38):
You got to be able to do it down in, down, out,
and that's not what the Hoosiers did in this one.
We will see how this develops, but certainly I know
though that Kurt Signetti is not about to go ahead
and just kind of rest on his laurels on this one.
He's gonna be real, real upset, and he's gonna be
able to get into his team a little bit about
(08:01):
all of this. I think that's that's really important. Eight one, two, three, nine, three,
twenty six hundred is the number. Or if you're walking
through the parking lot, feel free to come over and
grab a microphone join me on the air.
Speaker 1 (08:12):
Happy to do that.
Speaker 2 (08:13):
We have another caller, caller, if I could have your name,
where you're from, and what you got?
Speaker 7 (08:21):
I you fan in Texas on Act calling from Fort.
Speaker 4 (08:25):
Worth, Texas.
Speaker 1 (08:26):
Well, welcome to the show. How are you doing? I'm
doing well.
Speaker 7 (08:30):
I've been in my parents are I u alum, I've
been falling Indiana literally for over fifty years in football.
Enjoy the commentary that you've got. As a prior caller said,
and I think it's great to think of this, and
that is I'm disappointed in a win, and I think
we need to for sure let that sink in. For
a lot of BU.
Speaker 2 (08:49):
Fans, absolutely that was that was my thing is I
would far prefer to be angry that they didn't do
good enough in a rock solid ass kick and then
to be able to sit there and say, you know, hey,
we wish we could have gotten a lot more and
been able to pull this one out. So and and
look all I you fans have had to deal with
that before, and that that, to me, is is one
of the challenges.
Speaker 7 (09:10):
Yeah, it's kind of it's kind of amazing to think
where we're at and the idea that we're looking at
a solid win, and yet many of us are kind
of disappointing the way the team played, and I think
that says.
Speaker 4 (09:20):
Something about where the programs at.
Speaker 1 (09:22):
I said, thank you. I really appreciate that.
Speaker 2 (09:26):
It said over and over again that last year it
was as good as it was going to get because
nobody expected what happened last year to happen, and that
that is a big key to remember. But uh, now
we're in this year, we expect a lot more and
I know that Kurtz Signetti expects a lot more. So
we'll see if they're going to be able to, uh
to put it together. I was a little surprised, to
(09:48):
be quite honest with you, that the Hoosiers didn't involve
Elijah Suratt Moore in this game. I think that that
was something that a lot of us expected and it
just didn't happen. Didn't get the ball s rot with
just three catches on for forty four yards, but he
was only targeted five times and if the Hoosiers are
going to be successful, that is somebody who needs the
(10:08):
ball in his hands. And so we'll we'll see if
they're going to be able to to build on that,
and I'm sure they will. But you know, the run
game was fantastic. I was really happy with what I
saw from them, what I saw from Fernando Mendoza along
the way, which I joke during the game that Indiana's
backfield is a u It's a romance novel worth worth
(10:30):
of people because you have you know, Fernando and Roman
and Kylon and it was it's that's kind of funny
to me. So there's that A one, two, three, nine, three,
twenty six hundred is the number in our chat.
Speaker 1 (10:43):
I Ale says, I hate the Liverpool shirt. They hate
us because ain't us. You never walk alone. But great
to be back to the postgame show. I agree.
Speaker 2 (10:52):
I'm very very happy about the fact that it is
uh that we are here and back to it tone.
I'm having trouble reading my screen due to the sunbeam
in my eyeball. Tony says, I know we were running
basic vanilla offense today, but our o line got bullied
pretty badly, especially in goal line situations. How much of
(11:12):
a concern will that be moving forward? And to me,
that is a concern. That is one of your big
concerns out of this because Indiana was very good in
the red zone last year. They weren't good in the
red zone today, and that to me is a concern
because you need to be able to finish those drives
with touchdowns, be able to push it in and pick
(11:32):
up six feet, especially against a team like Old Dominion.
If you can't do that, then that is a bit
of a concern. So again something you work on again.
Calvin Samson over at Assembly Hall there he would say
one of his little things was that you don't play
February basketball in November, and it's kind of the same
(11:53):
thing with football. It is week one and so those
little things that are a problem in week one, they
might be an anomala or they could be a bigger concern.
And to me, that is uh is what I wonder about,
is just how it is what we're going to see
the fact that they were down in the red zone
multiple times and we're unable to h to be able
(12:15):
to kind of finish it off. That's a bit of
a concern of mine, to say the least, with this
ball club. Eight one, two, three, nine three, twenty six
hundred is the number. Please go ahead and give us
a caller. If you're at Memorial Stadium swing by, we
have another collar caller. If I could have your name,
where you're from, and what you got.
Speaker 4 (12:38):
Hey, this is Ron. I'm calling from Denver and thanks
for having this show, like another caller, fifty year you fan.
That's probably part of what concerns me. I think it's
it's hard to not to have flashbacks sure from past seasons.
(12:58):
For absolutely, I think the things that our running backs
are fun to watch. I thought they've got they're they're quick,
they're just fun to watch. The concerns I have are
similar to what other people said the D line. I'm
concerned because it's stifferent competition. What's that going to look like?
(13:21):
Mendoza just was he was just not accurate and that
you know what, that surprised.
Speaker 2 (13:27):
Me because he has been accurate in camp and so
I was really surprised by by that that some of
those throws he missed, some of them were really nice.
The throw to Omar Cooper that Cooper dropped, Uh, that
was a beautiful toss, and the numbers would look a
little bit different had he hit that. But I do
think that there's a little first game Jitters, a little
first game Russ, because in camp those throws were right
(13:49):
on point and he just missed him today.
Speaker 4 (13:52):
That's good to know. I mean, he made those couple
of questionable decisions at the end, and I wondered if
he was just trying to make a player something. But
the other thing, it was hard to tell from TV
out here a bit, and it looked like did the
students all leave again at halftime or did they stick
around some You know.
Speaker 2 (14:12):
The bigger surprise to me was how many of the
alumni left, because yeah, you had a bunch of students leave,
but they was still That place was packed at the
start and they did leave at halftime. But I would
like to see and I would like to see more
people hang in there. I do just think that I
wanted to see the alumni and stay there the non
(14:32):
students stick around. But I said before the game, I
have given the crowd a lot of problems over the years,
a lot of guff about not sticking around or not
being there at the start, and that place was packed
to be that, so I give them credit for that,
but yeah, I would have liked to have seen the
students stick around a little bit longer and actually everybody
(14:53):
in the stands, just who left at halftime to have
them come back and be a part of this thing.
Speaker 4 (14:59):
Yeah, agree, and I think we made some progress on
that last year and hopefully, well we'll get her going again.
Thanks a much.
Speaker 1 (15:06):
I appreciate the call. Thank you so much.
Speaker 2 (15:09):
Eric eight one, two, three, nine three twenty six hundred
is the number the Hoosiers moved to one and zero
with the win over Old Dominion. It was an exciting
It was discipline, I won't say exciting. It was exciting
(15:30):
to see the Hoosiers do some good things along the
way and kind of build on what they did last year.
I liked the running game a ton. I want to
see more out in the red zone.
Speaker 1 (15:42):
For sure.
Speaker 2 (15:43):
I enjoyed seeing the punt return for a touchdown that
was really important.
Speaker 1 (15:49):
But this team has to get better in multiple ways.
Speaker 2 (15:53):
I do give Old Dominion a ton of credit for
the very first play of the game. They ran a
really really good fake that just to read the face,
the quarterback kept the ball. He didn't hand it off,
kept it. Skies did great because I'm watching the game
through binoculars and I'm right right there on him, and
I was watching the running back the whole time, and
(16:15):
everybody pulled up and then I looked, I got tricked.
There's a whole bunch of people that got tricked. And
then they gave up the second one, and that, to me,
is going to be a little point of concern going
forward because you want to see the defense be able
to learn from that mistake.
Speaker 1 (16:32):
Now that said, again, two big plays.
Speaker 2 (16:35):
You give up a total of three hundred and one
yards of total offense, and two of those plays were
runs to quarterback to the quarterback, one of seventy five yards,
one of seventy eight yards. That right there is more
than one hundred and fifty yards of total offense out
of that three hundred and fourteen.
Speaker 1 (16:56):
So it's not like the defense was bad.
Speaker 2 (16:58):
I don't want to say that, but they did make mistakes,
and I did want to see the defensive line be
a little bit more active than maybe they were. Derby
says Mendoza should have had two picks that were dropped
and had some horrible throws and decisions to make. Throws
that play calling should never get Mendoza in the flow
of that. He could never get Mendoza in the flow
of the offense, So I'm not blaming that.
Speaker 1 (17:20):
That is something that is.
Speaker 2 (17:22):
A process that they have to be able to get
him involved.
Speaker 1 (17:27):
His first game and he had some nice throws.
Speaker 2 (17:32):
He had some that were a little bit shaky, But
I really do think that he has just a ton
of potential and I'm looking forward to seeing him develop
as the season goes on.
Speaker 1 (17:44):
Kevin says, thanks for doing the show. Ken really enjoy it.
Speaker 2 (17:47):
Some things to work on for the Hoosiers before Illinois
come to town. They looked good against the Cupcakes. Go
I you I'll say this much. You know, every coach
will tell you that the most important the cliche is
you get the most improvement between week one and week two.
And Kurt Signetti is not somebody who's just going to
(18:07):
go ahead and let the Hoosiers enjoy the win.
Speaker 1 (18:11):
I'll say that He's.
Speaker 2 (18:13):
Going to be in them about how there's a standard
and he does not feel his team reached it and
came close to reaching it, and I completely agree. I
completely agree about that. Now, it's great to be able
to look at this stuff of what we could have
done better, and I mean, hell, they could have been
up twenty one to seven at halftime. They made a
(18:36):
few more plays. They should have dominated this more than
they did. And you know, the caller mentioned the fact
that it is there is a little bit of just
fear that goes into IU fans, no question about it,
because of the fact that we've been burned by this
(18:57):
kind of stuff before and so believe that it's going
to like that. The first little wrinkle, a first little
sign of trouble, everybody kind of wants to not panic,
but they get a feeling, oh god, you know, here
we go again. And that's exactly what it is. It's
a here we go again kind of feeling. So I
get where that comes from. Look, I'm gonna lum, I've
(19:18):
been covering this my twenty first year covering IU football,
and you want to see them be able to just
roll over an opponent, in an opponent like this, and
they did. They left a lot on the ground, five
hundred yards of offense. But the little things, the red
zone issues, the defensive line not being as disruptive as
(19:41):
you'd like to see, those are a couple of things
that they certainly can work on, and then I know
that sig is really going to focus on. Now, for
people who listen on the podcast after the live show,
this is where I'm going to go ahead and insert
Kurt Signette's game press conference. So you're listening live, you're
(20:02):
not gonna hear anything right now. I don't have that audio,
but it is if you're listening on the podcast, which
we always put up right after we get done with
the show, this is where it is. So if you're
listening on the podcast, here's Kurt Signetti giving his postgame
press conference.
Speaker 8 (20:20):
All right, always good to get a win.
Speaker 9 (20:21):
Wins are hard to get. I want to know, but
I guarantee you uh, you know, everybody in this organization
realizes that, you know, we didn't play as well as
we want to, and that's that's just a flat out fact.
I thought our defense, you know, we gave up miss
Simon on first play on a long touchdown run, and
(20:45):
then we collected ourselves on defense shortly thereafter and pretty
much dominated them, didn't give them anything. And then we
had another missed to Sigmon on a very similar play
on the week's side. Again at the end of the game,
which led to another long touchdown run. Aside from that,
they didn't get a whole lot done. I thought we
had them in position near the end of the second
(21:07):
quarter where we could have stuck a fork in him
and really jumped on him, and we couldn't capitalize offensively.
We had a number of missed opportunities offensively, first and
two on the two, can't get the ball in the
end zone, get down there the next time and fumble
the ball, miss or guy open for a touchdown, make
(21:28):
a nice throw and he drops the ball, hit the
crossbar on the field goal overthrow guy for a touchdown
in the second half, and so from that standpoint, you know,
we just.
Speaker 8 (21:43):
We gotta get better. We gotta get better.
Speaker 9 (21:47):
I thought, obviously Brady's punt return was a big play
because there was a point in time there they had
the lead and they were moving the ball, and so
that that was a huge play. And then before you
we were up seventeen to seven, but it didn't feel
like we were, you know, and we've got the ball
first and second half and need a touchdown, and then
we did.
Speaker 8 (22:07):
We got it.
Speaker 9 (22:07):
We're up twenty four to seven, and you thought the
route could be on, but it wasn't. So Uh, there'll
be a lot to learn from in this tape, and
we got to get better.
Speaker 10 (22:20):
Yeah, you've talked a lot about just a sense of
urgency last two weeks. That was kind of what you
stressed every time kind of spoke to us. Did you
guys have it today and or feel like just those
miscues were kind of just things that happened in the game,
or do you feel like maybe lacking a sense of
urgency at the time.
Speaker 11 (22:34):
No.
Speaker 9 (22:34):
I thought the preparation was good. I think we had
their attention. I think everybody was probably in shock on
the first touchdown run, and I thought the kids didn't
panic and we rebounded from that.
Speaker 8 (22:45):
And we just have to execute a little better.
Speaker 9 (22:47):
We can't. You know, when you got opportunities to score touchdowns,
you got to you gotta score them. And that's what
we did really well last year. You know, we had
those opportunities. We made the place.
Speaker 12 (22:58):
Kurt, you talked a little bit about the different performance
you have the two big busts. On the other hand,
they didn't snap the ball on the plus side of
the fifty all day. Just how do you how do
you pick apart essentially a game like that where you
do have a couple of really obvious busts, but on
the other hand, the vast majority of the game goes back.
Speaker 9 (23:13):
It wouldn't over complicated. I think you just picked it apart.
Speaker 8 (23:17):
You know.
Speaker 9 (23:19):
In fact, you know, they were running clock in the
second quarter trying to shorten the game. They're the last
seven and a half minutes of the second quarter, so
they didn't get much done except for two mister simons,
which led to big plays in the quarterbacks fast.
Speaker 13 (23:35):
So yeah, how would you say your team lived up
to the standard, the standard of your program, your your team.
Speaker 9 (23:47):
Yeah, I think this is a great learning tool for us.
And you know they scored that first touchdown into our
team's credit. Uh, you know, we rallied back. But the mistakes,
you know, intercept a pass and get a penalty. You know,
there was just a lot of stuff, a lot of
things like that that the teams, my teams in the
(24:11):
past haven't done. You know, when we had open guys
for touchdowns, we made the catch or made the throw
and so you know we'll see it on tape.
Speaker 14 (24:26):
You talked about the missed opportunity, miscoring opportunities, four trips
inside I think it was their ten that didn't able
to touchdown anything.
Speaker 8 (24:33):
Particularly you look at and say this was the main
issue in that.
Speaker 9 (24:36):
I would start with the plan. You know, maybe it
wasn't very good plan. We do it on Thursdays, and
it was the low red and goal line and I
was really concerned about it leading up to kickoff. And
you know, there wasn't a lot of goal line on
tape because people were scoring explosive touchdowns, right and what
(24:56):
we certainly had those opportunities to do that and didn't ended.
Speaker 8 (24:59):
Up on a go.
Speaker 1 (25:01):
Uh.
Speaker 9 (25:02):
So I'd start with the plan and then I'm sure
I'll put tape on the execution in very good you know,
I hear comments on the headset about this guy was
supposed to do this and that guy was supposed to
do that.
Speaker 14 (25:14):
So coach, I know you'll see a lot more when
you watch the tape. But as far as Fernando looked
like him just a little bit out of sync, a
little bit out of rhythm. Just your thoughts and how
he kind of managed the game in his play.
Speaker 9 (25:26):
Today, Yeah, I thought he made some good plays. He
left some plays out there. Uh, he got off rhythm
a couple of times. And you know that's the thing
we've been trying to clean up with him, is uh,
speed up his processing once the ball snap and keep
mo on rhythm.
Speaker 15 (25:45):
Coach, he talked about the punt return just with Jonathan Brady.
I know you said, I think you know last week
of fall camp that that job was still up for grabs.
Just I guess when did he win that job and
what sat him apart from the from the rest of
the pack that kind of led you that direction.
Speaker 9 (25:58):
No, I think we have some good candidates there, and
I think for about the last two to three weeks
we've been leaning Brady stronger every day because he's got
he catches the ball well, he makes good decisions. The
punt returner is different than the kickoff returner. You got
to make good decisions whether to field the punt or not,
be a good communicator on the Peter call, when to
(26:20):
play the bounce, when not to play the bounce, how
to play the ten and uh, you know he's an
intelligent football player with good ball skills.
Speaker 15 (26:30):
When you mentioned mistakes, how much of it you know
worries you and how much of that is just it's
early in the year, and you know, clean up a.
Speaker 9 (26:40):
I'm not pleased with the way we played, so I
can't be any more clear than that, Coach.
Speaker 16 (26:49):
The running game was a good look today. A new
revamped offensive line, Roman Hemby goes for over one hundred
came n black and a lot of yards as well.
I know you have to watch the film to grate
it out, but was that a positive something you took
away from today?
Speaker 9 (27:01):
From so far, it seemed like we pushed them around
and and uh, you know we were opening up some holes. Yeah,
and you know, unless they brought house splits and which,
but sure seemed that way.
Speaker 7 (27:15):
Yeah, coach, the three interceptions to the day, what'd you
make and what do you take away from the play
of your secondary today?
Speaker 1 (27:26):
Uh?
Speaker 9 (27:27):
You know, I think, uh I got to see those
on tape again. But we got guys back there that
have good ball skills and a couple of those were
deflective balls, I think too, right, and uh they were
big plays.
Speaker 8 (27:39):
In the game.
Speaker 9 (27:40):
And uh so uh you know Ponds, uh sharp Farrell.
Farrell's a really good player. And then uh, you know,
we got Boyken from ENCI State and Lewis Moore got
a lot of experience. So every week's a new challenge.
That was a different offense because of the way they
spread you out, the ability to quarterback to run the
(28:01):
ball and so but those plays were game changers, There's
no doubt.
Speaker 2 (28:09):
Eight one two, twenty six hundred is the number. Also,
if you're in the parking lot outside of Memorial Stadium,
come join me. I'm over by the tennis center and
I have a microphone and you'll be on the air.
And I want to hear from you because you people
don't want to hear me. Just sit here and talk.
I'll tell you what my wife will tell me all
the time that she doesn't want to hear me. Just
(28:29):
go ahead, ramble on. So eight one, two, three, nine three,
twenty six hundred is the number. Don't have anybody, Let's
see this.
Speaker 1 (28:39):
Guy says on Twitter.
Speaker 2 (28:43):
He says, the main focus is there's work to be done,
and this did a good job of revealing where the
issues are. And yeah, I mean, if you could see
where you got to improve in the uh improve on
the field to be able to and do it in
a win, a comfortable win, that's a positive. But yeah, again,
(29:05):
I think as IU fans is just kind of a
thing of your concern because We've been burned by this
kind of stuff before. So the fact that you aren't
able to h they weren't able to get you know,
one win fifty five to seven or something is h
is kind of, uh, not a cause for concern, but
it is it is a thing. Eight one, two, three,
(29:25):
nine three, twenty six hundred is the number. Or if
you're in the parking lot, come on over and grab
a microphone and join us on the air. We'd love
to hear your thoughts on IU football. And I think
we have somebody that's doing just that. Hi, how are
you doing doing good?
Speaker 8 (29:41):
How are you?
Speaker 1 (29:42):
Go ahead and turn this on? And I have your name,
where you're from and what you got.
Speaker 17 (29:47):
Mike Poe from I live in Knowlesville.
Speaker 1 (29:51):
Mike, you know what do you got? Well?
Speaker 8 (29:53):
I came to say, hey, see what you were doing.
Was watched the podcast. We came over this morning.
Speaker 17 (29:58):
My buddy son is Isaach Jones Bones Jones and uh
his other son plays at Koliate. So we were at
the Koliate game last night. Flew over here this morning
and the game is. I know, I'm pretty stoked about
this year, like it's been interesting hearing from Isaiah you know,
like as they progressed through we came to the spring
game and then hearing what you know, a little behind
(30:21):
the scenes stuff.
Speaker 8 (30:21):
Right right, very interesting stuff. But yeah, gos Oring.
Speaker 2 (30:26):
What did you think of today's game in particular? What
did you like and what concerned James?
Speaker 8 (30:30):
I mean, I don't know.
Speaker 17 (30:32):
I think it's probably just the first game deal. I think,
you know, I expected it was a little rough there
at first, you know, I mean some mistakes made and
all that, and uh, but no, I mean I didn't
know that Old dominions better than what I thought.
Speaker 8 (30:46):
I didn't do a lot of digging into it.
Speaker 17 (30:48):
You know that they're they're they're better than what I thought.
You know, So no, I like to win, you know,
get two more and then that that fourth one.
Speaker 8 (30:59):
We'll see what happens.
Speaker 17 (31:00):
I think the next two should be, you know, get
a good opportunity to get tuned up for Illinois.
Speaker 1 (31:07):
Yeah, and polish it up. And you know, I said that.
Speaker 2 (31:10):
Kurt Signetti he talked about Old Dominian during the press
conference this week and talked about how good they were
and how great they were last season and how much
they had concerns about this, that and the other, and
he knows from playing them when he was at JMU
that he he knew them well and knew that they
would be a challenge. I was talking about last year
(31:31):
and last year and last year, and it made me
laugh because when Kurt Signetti has asked about his Hoosiers
from last year, he says, that was last year.
Speaker 1 (31:38):
It means nothing. We ignore all of that. So there's
that coach speak of that.
Speaker 2 (31:42):
But oh do you came out and they did some
nice things, especially in the red zone and especially along
the line of scrimmage.
Speaker 1 (31:48):
That is a bit of a concern for me.
Speaker 8 (31:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 17 (31:51):
I watched one particular lineman who's who I know well,
and he handled his dude, you know, pretty much all
day long. I mean, you know, late plays of the
laser focused on him and he didn't have any problems
that I saw.
Speaker 8 (32:03):
Yeah, yeah, he uh is Carter Smith.
Speaker 17 (32:07):
Okay, Yeah, and he uh you know, I mean, you
know when you got a guy that you know, you're
watching him, and he he seemed you know, he did
well yea every play that I watched him.
Speaker 8 (32:17):
So yeah, it was a good time. It's a little
hot out there. How hot did it get.
Speaker 1 (32:22):
Today, I don't know. It's air conditioned in the press box.
Speaker 17 (32:25):
So I was like, yeah, last night at Colgate it
was cold, yeah, you know up in the upstate New York,
and then here I was like, wow, this shoot, this
perfect weather.
Speaker 8 (32:33):
And then we're sitting there it's like it's hot with
no breeze. No. Yeah, so but yeah, it was awesome.
Speaker 1 (32:39):
G'regious day for football.
Speaker 2 (32:40):
And again outside of the defensive line not getting as
much disruption as I would like to see and giving
up the two big runs, Old Dominion did not run
a single play in Indiana Territory Day at all.
Speaker 1 (32:53):
They would say it was one of the the twos.
Speaker 2 (32:55):
A seventy five yard touchdown run and a seventy eight
yard touchdown run. So that's a pose. And the offense
had five hundred yards total offense. You almost had two
guys rushed for one hundred yards each. These are positives
to build on clean up, Yeah, exactly.
Speaker 17 (33:09):
You know, if they didn't have you know, a couple
busted plays like that, you know you can figure that out.
I know, you know last year, not to go back,
but we were at the Notre Dame game and it
wasn't that big long touchdown to return. It was the
play before it right that they was the big mistake. Yeah,
I mean obviously that was letting them what was it
like eighty.
Speaker 8 (33:28):
Yards or ninety yards or anything like.
Speaker 17 (33:30):
That, But it was the play before that that clause
of that would be an issue.
Speaker 8 (33:35):
But yeah, well, I'll have to sign up for the podcast.
Speaker 2 (33:39):
It's it's free from peaks dot com. Okay, and it's
the Peaks Podcast. Find out anywhere you get podcasts, and
we do it every week saying great, see.
Speaker 1 (33:48):
It, thanks a lot, you appreciate it. Whoo.
Speaker 2 (33:52):
Eight one, two, three, nine three, twenty six hundred is
the number we got a caller on the line. Caller,
if you give me your name, where you're from, and
what you got.
Speaker 11 (34:02):
Hey, it's Cam from Noblesville And yeah, I was just
tuning into the game today with.
Speaker 12 (34:07):
Your dog Winnie. And wow, yeah what a game today?
Speaker 1 (34:10):
Oh yeah, no, you know, I'll tell you what uh
it is. Uh it was a heck of a game.
Speaker 2 (34:15):
And I'm sorry that you had to uh to watch
it with Minnie because Minnie is a gigantic pain of
a dog.
Speaker 1 (34:23):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (34:24):
And this is uh my wife's uh nephew, Cam is
on is on the phone. I didn't believe he's at
my house right now. So, uh, I really appreciate the
phone call.
Speaker 11 (34:35):
Yep, good to check in with you.
Speaker 1 (34:38):
Thank you appreciate the call. Hey, take care, Take care.
Speaker 2 (34:45):
Eight one two, three, nine three, twenty six hundred is
the number. I'd love to have a caller. That's uh,
a full caller. Again, Let's let's see some of the
chat on the streaming here. Nob, you'll remember this game
when we're three and zero versus Illinois, and uh, that
is is part of the equation. I mean it is,
(35:06):
it is part of the equation that you know, that
is what you you hope for, that they come against
Chennesaw State and really turn things around and get it
get a lot stronger, because a win's a win. And
lord knows, I've been out here when they've lost. So
when you you watch it and you think to yourself, hey,
you could this could have been a hell of a
lot better that that isn't the worst thing in the world.
(35:29):
And I think that that's really important for everybody to remember.
Eight one two, three, nine three twenty six hundred is
the number. We got another caller. Caller from your name,
where you're from.
Speaker 1 (35:40):
And what you got?
Speaker 5 (35:42):
Hello, Ken, I'm Joel Or you may know me as
super Razzi. I'm from Bloomington, Indiana, sitting on the west
side of Memorial Stadium and reflecting on the game.
Speaker 1 (35:56):
So not seeing you.
Speaker 2 (35:57):
Ken, good seeing you and and I appreciate you.
Speaker 1 (36:02):
Give me a call. What did you think about today's game?
Speaker 5 (36:06):
Oh, defensive line, listen, that that's a huge has been
a question mark, will continue to be a question mark.
Speaker 4 (36:14):
You know.
Speaker 5 (36:14):
I think the secondary really bailed him out a couple
of times. They run a blitz there early in the
first half that had a tip for in the second
quarter and had a tip for an interception. So I think, really,
D'Angelo ponds really you know, make a huge difference in
the secondary, but the difference line had to be worked out.
And I think the other thing about offense is Curtis
(36:36):
Warf did not have a very good first game when
he was you know here last year. So I think
people should probably give Mendoza a little a little flat
considering that Omar Cooper dropped that ball in the first
half and with a really Changemen doses numbers.
Speaker 2 (36:52):
Yeah, if Cooper had made that catch and been able
to bring that in which drop pass has happened that's
just how it is. But he's throwing into the sun.
A person walking by says, he was throwing into the sun,
which might be.
Speaker 1 (37:06):
Fair, but you know you did.
Speaker 5 (37:07):
It might be fair.
Speaker 2 (37:09):
It might be fair, but you know, you know, you
hope he makes a catch. And I think people do
feel a little bit different if he does make that catch.
Speaker 1 (37:15):
I know that he'd love to have that one back.
Speaker 5 (37:18):
Yes, And I want to say something that other people don't.
Probably talk a lot about the special teams so far
this year was marvelous kicks into the end zone, punt
reat over, we had a punt return for a touchdown.
The special teams this year probably will make a difference
like last year didn't, and and that that was big.
So we got to look at positives. As an IU
(37:40):
football fan, I'm celebrating my fiftieth year as an I
you fan, and so as an IU fan and an
IU football fan, have we got to take this kind
of stuff. Let's not complain too much about the first
game as an IU fan with seven hundred losses in
our career, come on, let's mettle down.
Speaker 2 (38:01):
Yeah, that's what I said last I said a little
bit earlier about you know, hey, you have to enjoy
the last year is as good as it was going
to get because you felt like you were playing with
house money all year and now, uh, you know, those
expectations are raised and you want to reach them. And
I know that that's how it is for Kurt Signetti
(38:22):
as well. But from an IU football fan perspective, certainly
being able to uh uh to see this team and say, hey,
you know what they they could have done so much
more when it is you're you're walking away with the
W I think that's really important to remember.
Speaker 5 (38:38):
Well, I don't think anybody's gonna remember any of this
coming Illinois and a week or one more three and oho, right,
nobody can remember talking about old dominion or anything like that.
You know. I think Kurt has done a good job
of getting better as the season goes. One that showed
last year and it showed in every one of these
teams so far. I think that he's gonna love film
(39:01):
from this game because he's going to be able to
really you know, if you know coaches very well, they
love film like this. They love to win and then
have film in which they can just really I don't
want to use the word breat but they could really
pound it in to their players of this is what
can happen, you know, against a team like Old Dominion, who,
(39:21):
let's not forget, has three star players. People go to
Old Dominion because they can play as a freshman and
sophomore year and then transfer. That's what Old Dominion does.
These states in the NIL, so a lot of good
players go to Old Dominion and play. So we shouldn't really,
I mean didn't say early on in the year or
(39:41):
early on in the week that Old Dominion was probably
going to win the Sun Belt.
Speaker 2 (39:46):
Yeah, and that's what Signetti was who was really focused on,
was that, you know, ODU is good and we have
to know it and so so. But you still wanted
them to play it a little bit higher standard than
they did. They didn't reach it, but at something that
I know SIG is going to build on for sure.
Speaker 5 (40:03):
Absolutely absolutely. The two next games will probably not give
us much and so we'll probably all be really focusing
on Illinois. Hey, really enjoy your podcast, man, Really enjoy
seeing you at the ball games. Thanks a lot, appreciate you.
Let me speak for a little bit.
Speaker 1 (40:20):
Really appreciate it, and and thank you so much for
the call. Take care no problem.
Speaker 5 (40:25):
Take care, Ken, Take care.
Speaker 2 (40:27):
Eight one, two, three nine three twenty six hundred is
the number. I'm having a hell of a time. When
I stopped talking, I start getting feedback from the my
speaker here. So that's something I got to work on
because this is the first I did that in the
spring game, and I ended up having a pretty good uh.
I didn't have this feedback problem during the spring game,
(40:48):
but you know, we will work in progress with some
of these little additions. Eight one to two, three, nine,
three twenty six hundred is the number. We have another
caller and we're going to hear from him right now. Caller,
if I could add your name where you're from?
Speaker 1 (41:02):
Man, what you got?
Speaker 11 (41:06):
Hey, Ken, It's Cody from Kokomo.
Speaker 1 (41:09):
I want to reiterate.
Speaker 11 (41:12):
What the previous caller had to say. As an Indiana fan,
you often wait for the other shoe to drop, and
you're naturally inclined, as you well know, to see the
glass not just half empty, but waiting for the glass
to dump over. So some of these are repeats, but
(41:32):
I really wanted to focus in hard on some positives,
and again you've already touched on these, but I want
to point these out before I ask a couple questions.
All right, So first number one, outside of Bryce and Bonds,
we got out of the game relatively healthy. I think
that's really important to point out. Secondly, out outside of
(41:52):
the running game, but so outside of the red zone,
the running game between the twenties was nothing short awesome.
I don't think we can harp on that enough. How
much push we got until we got inside the red zone,
and Sig pointed out in the postgame press conference that
they went to some blitz packages inside of the red zone.
(42:14):
I also wonder how much of the play calling when
we got into the red zone got vanilla. But anyway,
outside of that the red zone, the running game was spectacular. Third,
they never ran a single play inside our territory. That's
really important to point out. Four or five hundred yards
of total offense is more than nothing to feel bad about,
(42:35):
certainly nothing to shake our heads about. You force three turnovers,
you get a score in the special teams, and lastly,
but not least, every kickoff was a touchback. Today, I
can't point that out enough. To invest in the kicking
game the way that we have, that's gonna pay dividends
(42:56):
for us. We were one of the worst in FBS
last year. So here are my two questions. I know,
how they watched quite a bit of Fernando last year,
that it seemed like he both operated and thrived in
chaos constantly, and it seemed like he reverted back several times,
(43:18):
even inside of the pocket when he didn't necessarily need
to into sort of chaos management. Did you observe that
as well?
Speaker 2 (43:27):
There were times that it did seem he was a
little bit uncomfortable when it came to being able to
like being in a clean pocket seemed to rattle him
a little bit, but he kept waiting for.
Speaker 11 (43:38):
That's exactly my yeah, yeah, that's exactly right. It seemed
like there was no pressure, the pocket was absolutely clean,
and yet he got happy feed and wanted to dance
side to side, and that got his footwork off and
some of the throws that were I mean, some of
the decisions that were made coming out of that, I
just didn't think we're very good. Secondly, and this is
(44:01):
this is less on the field, but do you do
you worry about the fragility of the mindset of the
Indiana fans? I mean, my friends that I talked to
that were at the game felt like the atmosphere after
the first play was weird. UH was never able that
we were never able to recapture sort of the pregame
(44:24):
atmosphere and intensity. And then obviously it's already been touched
on that there were students and alumni that left at halftime.
Do you worry about the mindset at all? Do you
do you still see it as as a symptom of
it being an early season opponent or or is it
(44:46):
an indicator that there's still a hill to climb in
terms of building a culture. What are your thoughts there.
Speaker 2 (44:52):
No, there's definitely a hill to climb in terms of
building a culture because of the fact that, look, you know,
we we've had a century of of struggles. One of
the things that me and Matt Weaver from PISA dot
com we're talking about during the game after that first
UH first play, when you see him go right down
the field, it's like a like it's like a puppy
who has had a bad owner and the puppy, you know,
(45:15):
would get you know, hit, and now you have a
good owner that's there who goes to pettit and they
kind of cringe a little bit. That that to me,
is kind of where we're at. We had last year
and last year every year, every single week for me
and I've been doing this, I'm around the program every
single week, was like, Oh my god, this is this
(45:36):
is what it normally happens, isn't happening? And so when
you have something bad happen, it's natural to go, oh god,
it was last year. Just just that. And plus we
don't even have to go that far back in history
to have this kind of thing really come up and
be an issue. Back in twenty twenty one, you open
the season by just getting hammered at Iowa when you
(45:56):
had these big expectations, and then they play Cincinnati and
that goes terrible and everything falls apart. So yeah, there's
this fear that we have these expectations, that you go
into the season coming off a college football playoff season,
and is everything going.
Speaker 1 (46:11):
To fall apart immediately.
Speaker 2 (46:13):
We're not used to having nice things, That's basically what
it comes down to. So the culture and the mindset
of the fans winning will solve that. And so to me,
it's it's on the players in and the fans can't
just revert right into that. They have to go ahead
and try to do their best to support as much
as they can.
Speaker 11 (46:36):
Makes total sense. Ken, I want to say thanks. I've
been listening to the show back to.
Speaker 18 (46:42):
The radio days.
Speaker 11 (46:43):
Uh, this has always been an incredible production. You put
so much time, effort, and energy. It's obviously a labor
of love. So we so appreciate your commitment to Indiana
Athletics and this is a weekly ritual for me. I'm
not in Bloomington anymore, but still, any chance I get
to listen to ken Bykoff after the game, I will
(47:05):
thanks brother, appreciate you.
Speaker 1 (47:07):
I really appreciate that. Thank you so much. That means
a lot.
Speaker 2 (47:11):
Col RT bye bye eight one, two, three, nine three,
twenty six hundred is the number. Twenty seven to fourteen
is the final Indiana off to a one to oh
start again five hundred yards of total offense. Fernando Mendoza
just running through a couple of numbers eighteen to thirty one,
passing one hundred and ninety three yards. He did not
throw a touchdown. You had Roman Henby twenty three carries
(47:34):
a buck ten Kaylon Blacks seventeen carries for ninety two yards.
BB had eleven carries for seventy three yards and a
fumble which was disappointing.
Speaker 1 (47:44):
E J.
Speaker 2 (47:44):
Williams five catches for forty five yards, Elijah Surrat three
catches for forty four yards, Omar Cooper two catches for
fifty two and it could have been a lot more.
The suggestion has been made by a passerby that he
ball was coming out of the sun. But it is
what it is. Lebron Bond had his first catch of
(48:05):
his career, one catch for twelve yards. And you know
the Hoosiers had they scored twenty seven points, scored just three,
scored two offensive touchdowns and give up and then have
one off a special team. So a little bit of
something everywhere, and so it is something to build on.
(48:26):
Eight one, two, green, nine three, twenty six hundred is
the number we got. Another caller, caller, if I get
your name, where you're from, and what you've got?
Speaker 18 (48:35):
Hey, Ken, this is Ryan from Bloomington.
Speaker 1 (48:38):
Ryan, how are you doing?
Speaker 18 (48:39):
How are you doing?
Speaker 1 (48:40):
I'm very good.
Speaker 18 (48:42):
You know, a little bit of a frustrating one there,
but I did want to say I want to give
a lot of credit the marketing apartment over at the UFA.
I don't know if you could see it from the
press boss to buy some stuff with Oh prea cool,
I'm jumping out and parachuting down. That's free suite thought.
The atmosphere is really good, especially to start the game.
(49:05):
But I want to know your thoughts because today, I mean,
point seven fourteen, not exactly a blowout, pretty comfortable. But
I kind of chalk this one up to somewhat conservative
play con and trying to save a lot of the
uh more fancy stuff for conference play. And I was
also curious, how you think now you will react to
(49:28):
the early leaving from these fans.
Speaker 1 (49:31):
That's a that's a good question. I you know, the
early leaving look.
Speaker 2 (49:36):
Indiana is not good enough yet for everybody to just
assume things are going to go well in the second half.
And crowds help win games. I I again, the crowd
at the start was fantastic that they were there, They
were in their seats, it was it was fun. It
was fun to see everybody there. I do wish they
would have stuck around because it was only a ten
(49:56):
point game at halftime. The massac this doesn't help happen everywhere,
but that change in culture takes a lot of time,
and so I understand that's part of it. The Hoosiers
have to continue to be uh effective and and uh
and win games in order to get people to stay
and uh, you know, we'll we'll see if that works out.
(50:18):
But I do give people credit because at least, at
the very least they were there at the start. And
I think that that's really really important that at the
very least they they they they have the light has
come on a little bit within that area.
Speaker 18 (50:36):
For sure. I just want to see Signetti say something
about it, and I'm sure you will, but you know,
I mean, I think people need to realize that exactly
what you're saying there, that you know, they got to
stick in it. And you know, I hate to see,
especially I'm going to probably try to go rewatch this
one on TV later tonight, and you know, I hate
to see when they pay the announcers start a second
(50:56):
half and see half half empty stadium. That that's not
exactly a fun site.
Speaker 1 (51:02):
No it's not.
Speaker 2 (51:03):
And that that is something that I think is going
to be really important that Indiana builds on on what
they they have there.
Speaker 18 (51:10):
Appreciate the call, Ryan, all right, thank you, Ken, have
a good night.
Speaker 1 (51:16):
Take care.
Speaker 2 (51:17):
Eight one two, three, one, three, twenty six hundred is
the number. I really appreciate all the calls that we've
gotten so far, uh, Kyle said.
Speaker 1 (51:26):
Uh uh says.
Speaker 2 (51:28):
The good news is that the national media will be
talking about Texas and Bama, so Indiana probably won't be
top of mind for once.
Speaker 1 (51:34):
And you know, I think that the important another important part.
Speaker 2 (51:38):
Of this is just the fact that uh, the Hoosiers, uh,
they won the game. They won the game, and that
that is an important part of this. So they will
they won the game, they will continue to uh to
get you know, at least, you know, going out and
losing this one would have been absolutely dead stating, absolutely devastating.
Speaker 1 (52:01):
That's not what happened. That's not what happened. And so.
Speaker 2 (52:06):
To me, just being able to get the w and
be able to get you know, what you set out
to do is really important. Eight one, two, three, nine three,
twenty six hundred is the number people are filing out
here at Memorial Stadium. I'm over at the Tennis Center
(52:27):
on the north side of Assembly Hall. I'm looking right
at Assembly Hall. Had a speaker set up, but I've
I've kind of turned that off because I was getting
a feedback issue out of it, something that we will
work on in the future. I can't get up and
move the speaker right now because I'm talking to you,
find folks.
Speaker 1 (52:48):
But this is a game that Prince Signetti did not
take lightly.
Speaker 2 (52:57):
And he's going to make sure that, uh, that the
Hoosiers know that they have to be ready to play.
They have to be ready to play every time out,
and uh, he's gonna be He's gonna use this. I
can promise you that he is going to use this
for you know what they're they're able to, uh to
learn from it. It's really important. But again it's it's
(53:22):
better to say, hey, god, they they should have really
won this by a whole bunch more than they did
in a win than watching it slip away. But there's
no question you don't care to see that.
Speaker 1 (53:35):
Uh uh.
Speaker 2 (53:36):
The Joseph Kidd that was Old Dominion's quarterback, he ends
up with, oh gosh, what happened there? It said OBS
was disconnected and it's reconnecting. I sure do hope that
it's going to do that. I don't know why it would.
That's a new one. God, I love technical issues. It's
the best. Let's see when we got reconnection is successful.
(54:02):
I don't know what just happened there, but that was
a concern for a second. All right, we're back up
and running. So a one, two, three, nine, three, twenty
six hundred is the number the Hoosiers one to zero
on the season. They are are up and running. But again,
(54:23):
the Joseph Kidd had ten carries for one hundred and
seventy nine yards. One hundred and fifty three of those
is that the number? Oh yeah, one hundred and fifty
three of those on two carries. The two touchdowns mistakes.
Indiana runs eighty nine plays in this one and gives
up five point six It gets picks up five point
six yards per play. Mendoza, I liked what I saw
(54:48):
from him for the most part. It wasn't always great,
but for the most part it was rock solid, and
you know, it's something to build on. He's got one
one game underneath his belt.
Speaker 1 (55:01):
Under his belt. Chris on Twitter says, you might have
an internet problem as your live stream keeps dropping. I
don't know what that's about, because I have a pretty
strong internet signal here.
Speaker 2 (55:15):
That that is, uh, that's I think is something I
have a starlink thing like a satellite internet, so hopefully
that will continue to be a good a good investment.
I spend a lot of money on it, so sure
to hope that is the case. Eight one to two
nine three twenty six hundred is the number.
Speaker 1 (55:40):
Let's see. Oh well, hell, I may have lost my
uh my thing.
Speaker 2 (55:46):
Oh and we're we're man, this is all coming apart,
so we might be wrapping this thing up here pretty soon.
Eight one three twenty six hundred. We got energy saver
with the battery, something I have to build on. Although
it says got plenty of I'm there. The Hoosiers finish
the game with a twenty seven to fourteen win, plenty
(56:10):
to build on and a lot to get a lot
better from. And I think that that's going to be
really really critical that the Hoosiers are able to build
off of Kansas State. Next week we'll see what they're
they're able to do. But Indiana moves and want to
know gets that season opening win, and that, to me
(56:34):
is what is more important than anything else. And I'm
excited to see how this team can develop. Kurt Signetti
will be at the podium on Monday, looking forward to
seeing what he has to say after he gets a
chance to see the film and what the Hoosiers can
build on. That's what I'm excited for because this is
(56:56):
one of those win where you get the win and
you might might end up being a positive that you
win the way you did, because it really makes sure
everybody stays focused and does what they have to to
get to two and oh and three and oh and
then you know, take on Illinois. What's all the time
