Speaker 1 (00:09):
Hi, are you doing everybody.
Speaker 2 (00:10):
I'm Keen Bikoff and welcome to the Peaks postgame Live
Indiana fifty six to six winners over UCLA at Memorial
Stadium in what was just an absolute clinical ass kicking.
Speaker 1 (00:23):
It's been playing and simple. Indiana moves to aid and
zero on the season. Will certainly remain number two in
the country. So much for all the suggestions that this
was an upset possibility, or a trap game or anything
else that you want to say, it absolutely was not.
That Indiana took control on the second play of the game,
(00:43):
a great pick six from Aiden Fisher. Quick update on
Aiden Fisher in the post game, I'll let you know
right now that Kurt Signetti said that Aiden Fisher was
held out kind of as a precaution. They'll have him
do X rays and MRIs and all that. It seems
like he went knee to knee with the teammate and
came out of the game. But in a game like this,
(01:04):
he simply was not needed and so they did not
put him in. It's plain and simple. So it's exciting
for Indiana. A one, two, three, nine, three, twenty six
hundred is the number. I'm excited that we already have
our first caller color if I could have your name,
where you're from, and what you got?
Speaker 3 (01:24):
What you just want to say? What a great game
from Tyreek Tucker. Absolutely amazing game.
Speaker 4 (01:31):
Who's yours?
Speaker 3 (01:32):
Undefeated and deservedly so, US fans. We have a lot
to be grateful for Tyreek Tucker. Special shout out to you.
Speaker 1 (01:41):
Great game. The rest of the team great game as well. Yeah,
Tucker was dominant in this one. He had four tackles,
two solos, sack and a half and two tackles for
a loss and disrupted a lot of other things. And that,
to me is the key for this Hooser ball club
is they really really have just done a great job
of just creating a ton of havoc and this defense. Guys,
(02:05):
they've given up six offensive touchdowns this year, and two
of those came in the first game. That front line
of the defensive line is a big reason why.
Speaker 5 (02:16):
Completely agree with you. Eye you to the Rose Bowl.
Speaker 3 (02:19):
We're calling it now, Fiden hard Hoosiers, Let's go.
Speaker 1 (02:24):
I appreciate the call, Thank you so much. Thank you.
Speaker 6 (02:28):
Pee.
Speaker 1 (02:30):
Day one, two, three nine, three twenty six is the number.
I'm over here in front of the Tennis Center at
on the north side of Memorial State and Memorials of
Assembly Hall by the tennis center, right by the front doors.
We've got some people that are wandering by and excited
to uh to have you guys, come and grab the
(02:50):
microphone talk to to the the folks that want to
hear your thoughts on the game. There's plenty of traffic
backed up here as that is something actually that I
wanted to mention real quick is the fact that Indiana
fans did a great job not only showing up for
this thing, but even after halftime, the after halftime portion
(03:12):
of the stands were we're really uh incredible because that's
a lot like what it would have been at the
start of games and entire games in the past couple
of years. So really really exciting for that to happen.
Indiana fifties winning my fifty points, it's just extraordinary. And
(03:33):
Purdue lost on the last second field goal, so that
always is great. Eight one, two, three, nine three, twenty
six hundred is the number. If you want to talk
about the game, come sit with me, grab a microphone.
You are more than welcome to join me and give
your thoughts on the game. Give us a call. I
think we have somebody that's coming to settle in right
now and join us. How are you doing. I'm doing good,
(03:59):
so kind of just letting let me know your thoughts
on the game.
Speaker 6 (04:02):
Yeah, I'm reading from Atlanta. I told you last week
that I was coming to get the headset.
Speaker 1 (04:06):
Ready, absolutely, and I was ready for you too. Yeah. Man,
well I appreciate that. Thank you very much.
Speaker 6 (04:12):
I love listening to you, and I love all the
therapy sessions during basketball season.
Speaker 1 (04:16):
Yeah, we do what we can. That that is can
be somewhat of a challenge sometime to deal with that.
Is that like that's the problem right there? There you go.
Speaker 6 (04:26):
Oh oh, now I can hear me. Well, yeah, that's
so much better. All right, Well I'll say it again.
I'm read from Atlanta, and I told you last week
I was going to be here.
Speaker 1 (04:33):
I was looking forward to it.
Speaker 6 (04:35):
Yeah, great to meet you. I'm a I'm a big fan.
I listened to a lot of shows.
Speaker 1 (04:39):
Were you the one that would saying that you wanted
to share a cigar with me? That I have my cigars.
I'm ready to go. I'm ready to go on this thing.
That's hilarious coming in from Atlanta. What did you think
about about all this?
Speaker 6 (04:52):
This is a dream. I mean, this is truly amazing.
Right with you and I are about the same age.
I'm older actually, but my wife and I were here
in the early nineties and we did some Bill Mallory.
We just in Anthony Thompson, Little Trent Green, but nothing
like this. And to see these guys coming out and
(05:13):
winning this overwhelmingly is just incredible. We don't know what
to do. Look, we're in Atlanta, and you know we're
in the heart of the SEC. All our friends are Georgia,
Florida State at Florida, Georgia Tech, Clemson, right Tennessee. All
they level it and they know what this is like.
We don't. Right, It's just incredible. It's just incredible to
(05:37):
be here and to be a part of this.
Speaker 1 (05:38):
I said last year that this was as good as
it was going to get, because there were no expectations
last year, and I still kind of believe that.
Speaker 6 (05:46):
I agree.
Speaker 1 (05:46):
This is next level though, because this is not even
just a matter of winning games and squeaking them out
and being shocking. It's on Saturday morning. You will be
surprised if we lose. And again they've given up six
offensive touchdowns this year. I was covering this team when
Indiana scored twenty points Wisconsin and lost by nine touchdowns
(06:09):
in that one game. And we are eight games into
the season and they're giving up three quarters of a
touchdown per game.
Speaker 6 (06:15):
It's amazing. And of those six touchdowns, weren't like three
of them just broken defenses.
Speaker 1 (06:20):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (06:21):
Absolutely, So it's incredible.
Speaker 1 (06:22):
Yeah. And I also saying that, and don't say this lightly.
I'm a Bears fan, Chicago Bears fan, eighty five Bears,
I talk about constantly like every other Bears fan.
Speaker 6 (06:33):
Super Bowl cheffle.
Speaker 1 (06:34):
But this defensive line, I'm not saying Indiana's defense is
the eighty five Bears. Don't misunderstand me. What I'm saying
is the way it looks when the ball is snapped
and guys barely have a chance to take a step
before they're being overwhelmed. It reminds me of being in
the zip code of that and it just it absolutely
warmed my heart.
Speaker 6 (06:55):
Yeah. And then on defense, on past defense, there's no
yards after catch. Wait, we just hit him damn down.
Speaker 1 (07:01):
And multiple guys swore out the ball.
Speaker 6 (07:03):
Incredible. Isn't amazing? It is so much fun.
Speaker 1 (07:07):
It's I haven't wrapped my head around it, and uh
it'll take a while. Yeah, Kurtzig Dad, he's nineteen and
two as a head coach. He's lost one regular season game,
and he's never lost here at Memorials.
Speaker 6 (07:19):
So I was originally going to come on and tell
you that I wanted to audition for Intern Charlie's co host,
but clearly I woke up this morning with laryngitis. I
am not qualified.
Speaker 1 (07:30):
Plus, we'll tell you this, sometimes when you got a
little throat thing sounds, it actually helps. It adds a
very white, very white like how you doing? Look?
Speaker 6 (07:40):
Look hey, speaking of Intern Charlie, he's not here. I
wanted to meet him. I really wanted an autograph. He's
clearly a generational talent. The kid I mean, but really
eleven year old, he's ten ten. He can get behind
a microphone. He has poise, he has confidence, he can
do whatever he wants.
Speaker 1 (07:57):
Fun fact, he is the swearingest ten year old want
to move, Well, it's being around me. I don't exactly
stay radio friendly off air, but uh, yeah, he's.
Speaker 6 (08:07):
Well, he controls it when the MIC's in front.
Speaker 1 (08:09):
That's right. I tell him all the time. Keep it
radio clean. If you're at school and you say something,
I can't defend you, buddy, I'm gonna make him burn you.
So uh, Charlie. Charlie loves doing it and he loves
being able. He takes it very very serious.
Speaker 6 (08:22):
Oh no, I'm a huge and truly like he's got
a lot of poison confidence behind the microphone and that's
a big deal.
Speaker 1 (08:27):
Yeah, I'm proud of him.
Speaker 6 (08:29):
Awesome, we're good. Hey, thanks for letting me sit here
with you.
Speaker 1 (08:32):
Have a good trip back to Atlanta. Thank you, and
listen to your your neighbors that are Georgia Tech for
you people that they're moving to eight and no today too.
Speaker 6 (08:41):
Really, I haven't even I'm pretty.
Speaker 1 (08:43):
Sure I think that they were rolling. I think they
were playing Syracuse maybe.
Speaker 6 (08:47):
Yeah, something like that. Yeah, yeah, so yeah, it is
a great year. Hey, it's great when everybody can pay
their players legally.
Speaker 1 (08:55):
And that that levels the playing field. It doesn't if
you know, said the people pople that are complaining about
nil and how much of a problem it is. It's
the historic program yeh, traditional power programs. They're the ones
that are complaining. And yes, obviously they end up having
to pay more than others because but they're also losing
out on players because that levels the playing field, and.
Speaker 6 (09:17):
It's great for the players, that's great for us, that's
for sure.
Speaker 1 (09:19):
For sure.
Speaker 6 (09:20):
Hey, clearly I can't hold a candle to intern Charlie.
So maybe next year you'll give me another chance to
you know, audition for the co host spot.
Speaker 7 (09:29):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (09:29):
He'd have been happy too, because Alex Poulo, his favorite
Indy car driver, was here. Charlie would have loved to
meet him. But is it? It is all right? Thanks
so much, appreciate U eight one, two, three, nine three,
twenty six hundred is the number. Come on up here
to the table, grab the microphone with me, and we'll
talk some Indiana football. Is the Hoosiers? What fifty six
(09:51):
points on UCLA in at Memorial Stadium? Just plain old
ass kick and playing and simple. It's a really really
great to see. We got another guest coming on up here,
come on in here, go ahead. How you doing, man,
How you doing? Where are you from? Jasper? Phil Schmidt? Jasper.
We were in Jasper just last Friday. We drove through there.
(10:13):
We went to that nunnery that's a brewery. Yeah you've been, Yes, sir, right,
great career, great food. It was. What are your thoughts
on the game.
Speaker 7 (10:22):
It was a good old ass kick and yeah, you
hate to put it that way, but that's.
Speaker 1 (10:26):
What it was. That's the only way to describe it.
I mean, when you are winning seven nothing after the
second play, as aidan Fisher makes an incredible catch and interception,
runs it back and then they just kept rolling, kept rolling,
kept rolling. Alberto Mendoza did not have an amazing game
from a stat profile. You didn't put up three hundred yards.
(10:47):
He didn't rush for you know, one hundred plus. But
he was just on target. He was was created plays
with his legs. It absolutely did everything he needed and
then they handed it off to little brother who went ahead,
did a great job.
Speaker 7 (11:01):
And then when Alberta got in there, he did a
good job, got any touchdown. So yeah, great, great for
the future.
Speaker 1 (11:07):
What do you an your thoughts? You know, Indiana rushes
for two hundred and let's say the final number on
their rushing numbers here, a total of two hundred and
sixty two yards. You had nobody go over one hundred yards,
but you had Roman Hemby seventeen carries eighty one yards
and a couple of touchdowns. Kaylon Black ten carries for
(11:28):
seventy yards, Mendoza brothers combined for eighty four yards. If
my journalism school math works, you know, just your thoughts
in those running backs and how they bring it.
Speaker 7 (11:38):
It was just well spread, well spread across the running backs.
That's the big thing is there's no heroes. It's well
spread across the whole offense. Same with the defense. It
is big on the defense. Every player makes a big difference.
Speaker 1 (11:52):
There's different guys that could hurt you, no question, and
that said to me, that's that's what's exciting. Exactly great,
appreciate it. Thanks, yeah, thank you. Give me a call.
Eight one two, We got more jass. That's fantastic. Come
on and join us. Hey everybody, what's up? What's your name?
Where are you from? My name is mik Ali Chimernski.
Speaker 6 (12:13):
I'm from Los Angeles, California. Go Hoosiers.
Speaker 1 (12:18):
What are your thoughts on the game. What's your name?
Speaker 8 (12:19):
Go Hoosiers?
Speaker 9 (12:20):
My name's on Jenny Waters.
Speaker 1 (12:21):
I'm from DC. So so okay, so we got both
coast working here. Now you guys go to school here. Yes,
it's your screen too.
Speaker 4 (12:29):
Oh yeah, what's up?
Speaker 1 (12:32):
Everybody, it's your birthday, It's my birthday, Bob Night's birthday,
my wedding anniversary twenty two years with my wife's day.
So yeah, So what weren't your thoughts on the game?
I thought, we're just such an awesome team. We're such
a great team.
Speaker 9 (12:48):
Just so you shout out Mendoza.
Speaker 6 (12:51):
I'm just so proud of us.
Speaker 1 (12:54):
Yeah, and even though I'm.
Speaker 6 (12:55):
From LA, I will choose Indiana over U c l
A any day.
Speaker 1 (12:59):
Very good, very good? What is sad? What year are
you junior? What are you studying finance at the Kelly School? Business?
Speaker 5 (13:07):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (13:08):
There you go, how about you? Yeah, marketing at Kelly Okay,
I work at the O'Neill School. That's my toll time job.
So that's spirit a lot a lot of excitement out here.
So you got here? Are what year are you junior?
So both of you guys got here. Tom Allen's lad
when you guys are freshman? Wasn't great? No, last couple
of years have been amazing. Yeah, from a student standpoint,
(13:32):
just said the people coming to the game, what is it?
What is that attitude of coming to the game. How
is it different today versus what it was?
Speaker 9 (13:40):
Your freshman year, I have never seen the stadium so
packed like today is so packed.
Speaker 10 (13:45):
So in comparison to our freshman year, more people are
just excited.
Speaker 1 (13:49):
People are excited for it.
Speaker 10 (13:50):
Yeah, there's a lot more school spirit.
Speaker 9 (13:52):
Everyone's excited to come, a lot more alumni or coming
to the school too.
Speaker 8 (13:56):
So it's really made everyone like, I don't know more,
a more school spirits, brought this school together.
Speaker 1 (14:03):
Very good, Yeah, very good. Thank you, Thank you so
much by everybody. Losers eight one two, three, nine three,
twenty six hundred. The uh uh then it says that
I'm breaking up every three to five words. I don't
know how to fix that right now because I'm doing this,
(14:24):
I can't uh A one two, three, nine three twenty
six hundred. We have a uh A caller caller. If
I have your name, where you're from, and what you got,
can I hear you?
Speaker 9 (14:38):
Then?
Speaker 4 (14:38):
Hey Rob from Greenwood, Ah, right, Rob, how are you doing?
And Hey, I had to take a couple of weeks
off I got putting the time out after that last
drummond that I walked there at home a couple of
weeks ago. So I apologize for my no call notes show.
Speaker 1 (14:53):
That's that's Okay, that's okay, I say, I appreciate. What
were your thoughts on today's game?
Speaker 4 (15:01):
Well, you know, I'm going to ask the one question
that I've asked every time I've called. But first off,
did you compare I use defense to the eighty five Bears?
Speaker 1 (15:09):
Now, I very very clearly said that. Yeah, no, no, no,
I don't say that. Nope, nope. I said that when
they're on the snap and they get they overwhelmed the
guys right behind it is in the same zip code
of the look of how it was that year. So
I did not say they're the eighty five Bears. I
(15:30):
did not say that. I said the look of it
reminds me of how that looked.
Speaker 4 (15:35):
To say, where I'm from. If we compare zip toe
to something, that means they're the same.
Speaker 1 (15:42):
No, no, no, no, no, ballpark is the same zip code.
It's just the damn zip code. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (15:49):
So okay, all right, So now you know the question
that I've asked every time I called in what is
the feeling of the team? And there is one answer,
and I hope you answer it. But what is the ceiling? Now,
after after you've seen this, the league.
Speaker 1 (16:04):
Sky's a limit? What do you think sky's the limit?
This is this is we gotta believe at this point.
This is again, this is not just wins. These are
weekly ass kickings and not even giving a getting close.
Sky's the limit as far as I'm concerned, I mean,
you're you're you're talking about, uh, the clear path to
being undefeated, the clear path to being in the Big
Ten championship game, and the clear path of if you
(16:26):
play the way Indiana has played in Fernando Mendoza stays
healthy and guys stay healthy, that the sky is the limit,
as crazy as it is. During the pregame on that
big noon kickoff, they had a thing on the bottom third.
The question was can Indiana win the National Championship? And
I looked at Matt Weaver from piagues dot Com and
I said, how crazy is it that that kiron has
(16:48):
been been created? And yet it's absolutely appropriate? And I
think that that is that's your answer, the sky is
the limit?
Speaker 4 (16:58):
I totally agree. I do you know do you know
if Steve Thwall he's a legend there in.
Speaker 5 (17:03):
Bloomington, do you know who he is?
Speaker 1 (17:05):
The name sounds familiar, it's the very lazy.
Speaker 4 (17:09):
Yeah, he's a legend. But he he thinks we're gonna
lose every week. So like I'm like, I hope he's listening,
because like I'm glad, Yes, it's it's championship, championshiper buff Now,
isn't it what you think championship or buff.
Speaker 1 (17:23):
I mean or bust doesn't It doesn't mean ay will
be disappointing if they don't continue to win, but then
they'll pick it up. I'm not at the point where
you know, if they lose, it's they lose a season,
it's a failure of a season. I'm not there. We're
too too near to the start of this.
Speaker 4 (17:39):
No, no, And I guess I agree with you there,
but I think it's more of what Tig is done.
Where now it's like holy shit, like this is real,
this is real. And and and you watch that defense
fly around, I mean, and you know, offense is kind
of you know, obviously, but the defense week in and
week out, and with Fier going out today, there was
(18:00):
no let down. It was the same.
Speaker 1 (18:02):
Deacon Well and they kind of let Fischer go out
because as a precautionary measure, so they were willing to.
They they clearly thought we didn't need it. But he
stayed on the field. He uh, you know, it was
was walking around without a limp or anything like that.
That to me is really really important. And so the
fact that he stayed out there was was really the
(18:22):
key that they didn't take him off to the locker
room right away. Otherwise, if they were really super concerned
about it, they'd have taken him off to the locker room.
Sega said that they're going to give him x rays,
they're going to do MRIs and all that kind of thing.
But yeah, that's part of it.
Speaker 4 (18:35):
Yeah, but I've bet I think as a casual fan though,
like you see, you see a pivotal player. He's the
you know, he's the middle of our defense. He goes
out and it's like, oh no, it's fourteen zero at
that point, and nothing changed, nothing change, right, The standards
stayed right there, absolutely, just how they execute, how they
(18:56):
you know, filling gaps, how they attacked the ball. You know,
it's not one guy on an island all the time.
If you've got a hand on somebody, somebody else is
flying in and and they're hitting, I mean, it's it's
you're bad.
Speaker 1 (19:07):
Dude, Yes, sir, yes, sir, absolutely, And and and they're
doing it. They're they're playing with violence, but it's clean violence,
and they're doing it without uh being just like I'm
old school. So go ahead and hit somebody and then
get up. You can high five somebody, but don't go nuts.
And they they haven't done that. They they are what
sick is They have that attitude of go out there,
(19:31):
put a step on someone's neck, and get up and
go to the next play.
Speaker 4 (19:35):
I know, man, it's amazing, it's amazing. Well, my last question,
I need a Rabbi story real quick.
Speaker 1 (19:43):
I don't have nothing flying to mind. How are you?
Nothing's flying flying to mind? Right here, we got a
small guest over here that came and wondered by.
Speaker 4 (19:52):
So Hey, Ken, I love you, buddy. Hey, I hope
I get to be on air one time with you.
I'd love to be where they're at right now, so
I'll see later.
Speaker 1 (20:00):
Where the hell are you? Where are you?
Speaker 4 (20:03):
Oh dude, I told you I got put in time out.
My wife told me to get home.
Speaker 1 (20:07):
Oh, well you got you gotta do that. Yeah, I've
been married twenty two years, married twenty two years with
her twenty five. I understand that. Hey, do you you
fight your battles.
Speaker 4 (20:18):
Yes, sir, Hey, is this the best anniversary you've have though?
Speaker 1 (20:22):
No? No, no, not at all. No.
Speaker 4 (20:26):
I set you up for that. I set you up
for that. God your hand for all right.
Speaker 1 (20:30):
Take care. I appreciate the call.
Speaker 4 (20:33):
All right, caam, We'll see you later, buddy.
Speaker 1 (20:34):
All right, take care?
Speaker 4 (20:36):
All right?
Speaker 1 (20:37):
We one, two, three, nine, three, twenty six hundred is
the number. Feel free to come and uh and swing
on by. But we also have another another person that's
come to join us. Tell our listeners your name where
you're from.
Speaker 8 (20:49):
My name's Robert from gosh in Indiana, longtime listener, first
time contributor. And I just gotta say I was very
impressed with how we came out today. Ucla was a
trendy hot pick for an upset for whatever reason, and
we just put belt.
Speaker 1 (21:05):
To ask they did you know? And it was a
you know, they had their three game winning streak and
that's good, day, John, three game winning streak, and that
was good. The teams they had beat are combined one
and eleven in conference. And yet I think that ended
up being a positive because the team couldn't overlook him.
Sig wasn't about to let them and to go ahead
(21:27):
and and present it as they were three and zero.
Under this new coach, it made sure that the intensity
stayed exactly where it needed to be.
Speaker 8 (21:35):
Even after we lost those key injuries to atleast Fisher
and then Tomorrow was out for a while. No change,
like you mentioned earlier. And what do you think about
Brady late in the game, he's comed up hobbled.
Speaker 1 (21:46):
Well, you know, we'll see how that goes, and they'll
get him all checked out. Sometimes you can get banged
up on a play and then be able to kind
of walk off. We'll see. We'll find out more on Monday.
Speaker 8 (21:58):
As someone who was here for so much bad football
as a little kid, I just can't believe this is real.
And this seems like the team of destiny when they
were destined to meet Ohio State in the Big Ten
title game.
Speaker 1 (22:08):
The fine as a little kid, what are your years there?
Speaker 8 (22:12):
My earliest memories was two thousand and six, but I
was here for the Donardo years, and my first game
was when I was ninety eight, when I was.
Speaker 1 (22:20):
A baby, okay, and you've been going every year since.
Speaker 8 (22:22):
But my earliest memory was that Iowa went in two
thousand and six, So I've witnessed so much bad football.
Speaker 1 (22:28):
With Kellen Lewis flipping into the end zone. I believe
no or was that That was two thousand and I
think that was Iowa. That was Iowa.
Speaker 8 (22:34):
Yeah, wait, that was Iowa two thousand and seven.
Speaker 9 (22:37):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (22:37):
Two six was the Will Myers one.
Speaker 1 (22:39):
Handed go ye yeah, yep, yep. Absolutely they beat a
ranked Iowa teamhaps last year, that's right.
Speaker 8 (22:46):
So it's just so nice to see this team build
off of last year even better. And I just don't
see any weaknesses with this team right now.
Speaker 1 (22:54):
Yeah, they're crushing it. Absolutely. Appreciate you stopping mine, take
care of He's always ken Hey one, two, three, nine, three,
twenty six hundred is the number a lot of people
stopping by today, which is very very exciting to me.
I want to to do that. Okay, we have Charlie
Bikeoff is on here as well. Just said wrote national
(23:17):
but he spelled it right, So that's a step in
the right direction. B Ball sixty twenty three says says
got lost in some housework. Did Kamara end up returning?
He indeed did, And we got to talk about his
toughness a little bit because Mikhail Kamara did. He went out.
(23:37):
They were checking out and looking at his shoulder real close,
and he was able to return to the game and
be effective, and that's really important. He showed incredible toughness
as he does. You know, Indiana got banged up a
little bit in this one because you did have Michael
Kamara and his shoulder, you did have Aiden Fisher and
his knee. But again, Fisher never left the sideline. He
(23:59):
stayed stayed right there, and that was really really important.
Uh for the Hoosiers. Uh. The fact that, uh, you
had Brandon Frank get hurt on the opening pickoff, that's
a concern because he is an absolute weapon. But the
Hoosiers did a great job of bouncing back. Charlie the
(24:23):
Intern again says, oh, we got somebody banging on our satellite.
How about that? Charlie Biakoff says, do you think they'll
win the championship? That is Charlie the Intern, and they
have a clear path to it. Now he's on the chat, Amanda, Charlie.
Charlie's right there, so it is exciting. Fifty six to
(24:43):
six is your final score? Eight one, two, three nine,
twenty six hundred is the number. Let's look over some
of the numbers here Indiana with four hundred and seventy
five yards of total offense versus two hundred and one
for UCLA. The Hoosiers had the ball for thirty five minutes.
Fernando Mendoza fifteen to twenty two for a buck sixty
eight and three touchdowns. Alberto Mendoza four up seven for
(25:07):
forty five yards. Romant Henby led the Hoosiers with seventeen
carries for eighty one yards and a couple of touchdowns.
Kaylon Black ten carries for seventy yards, Fernando Mendoza five
carries for forty five yards and a touchdown, Alberto Mendoza
four carries for thirty nine yards and a touchdown of
his own. E J. Williams with five catches for one
(25:28):
hundred and nine yards and two touchdowns. The next leading
receiver was A Becker with two catches for thirty five yards,
and Elijah Surratt two catches for six yards and a touchdown.
Omar Cooper two catches for two yards, and that was it.
If I were going to tell you, Indiana is going
(25:49):
to get a total of four catches for eight yards
from Elijah Surratt and Omar Cooper you would think Indiana
was going to be in trouble, but instead that was
not the case. Indiana absolutely beats the hell out of
UCLA fifty six to six. And again, this is kind
(26:10):
of the the game that people were like, well, Ucla,
they're on a roll. Maybe this is wearing it now. No,
not even close, not even close. It was really really
fun to watch. Eight one, two, three, nine three, twenty
six hundred is the number on the chat Tony asks,
what do you think the odds are of Fernando coming
back next year? And if not, do you think we
(26:32):
hand the keys to Alberto? I know that Kurt Signetti
has talked about wanting to give Alberto a little bit
more of some more reps with the first team along
the way, just as to help him develop. He's somebody
that he sees as somebody who could be the quarterback
of the future. So that's something to keep an eye on.
(26:54):
Fernando coming back next year. We'll see how the rest
of the season plays out. It's not gaudy number from him.
That is not the case. Uh oh something, Oh gosh,
we just had something go wrong there. We're reconnecting. What
(27:15):
are we connecting to? That's a concern. All of this
is a concern. What happened to mine? Well, hopefully we're
we're gonna be online here, We're back hopefully. Uh, this
is a little bit better. We we're having technical problems here.
(27:36):
See if maybe it'll make a difference if I killed
the camera there, maybe that'll help help with some of
these connection issues that we are very clearly having. But
eight one, two, three, nine, three six hundred is the
numbers I'm going to try to connect here back to
what we got. This is the challenge of doing this remote.
(27:58):
Tell you right now running into connection problems? How are
you doing? Yeah, it's pretty simple. I win Google me.
I don't know that I always win right now, but
it is what it is. Eight one, two, three, nine,
three twenty six hundred is the number trying to uh
get everything up and run. And this is a mess,
(28:19):
isn't It might have to start just doing this at home.
Speaker 6 (28:29):
There we connect to us the host welcome host.
Speaker 1 (28:32):
Oh, you're now in the host room and can manage
your callers from the call in studio web interface. So
here's the thing with this deal.
Speaker 6 (28:39):
Recording is fun.
Speaker 1 (28:40):
Thank you. Dual channel. All right, very good? Okay, so
maybe this is some of the answer here is having
to deal with that audio that we had, the video
that we have, which honestly, nobody needs to see my
face anyway. And I just started did that for basketball
because people wanted that. And so for right now, we're
going to go ahead and UH and deal with this.
(29:00):
Our lines are open. Eight one, two, three, twenty six
hundred is the number. I also will go ahead and
UH try to see if I could pull up the
audio from Kurt Signetti's press conference that he had during
the post game. Hopefully that that'll work with what we got,
(29:24):
UH Indiana fifty six to six winners over UCLA. This
defense UH continues to absolutely put a rock solid beat
down on everybody that they face. UH, and that is
what is It was incredible that they just they just
(29:48):
keep rolling, They just keep rolling. And UH so now
you look at you know, we we've had people ask
what is the ceiling for this team? Where can they go?
And the answer is, you know, again, sky's the limit
on this thing, because they have been pretty incredible to
(30:10):
say the least, just watching this this team just dominate,
just absolutely dominating that that is so much fun. With
all of that eight one to two three nine three
twenty six hundred is the number. Trying to get everything
back up and running using my phone now as are
(30:32):
as our are what do you call it? Our network?
Doing this in the parking lot comes with plenty of challenges.
But you know, the fact that Indiana was able to
grew the big noon kickoff, I think is really important
(30:57):
that they were able to do that. Is helps promote
the school obviously, and everybody gets very excited about it.
It draws a lot of eyes, a lot of attention
to this program, a program that a lot of people
haven't believed in, to be quite honest with you, even
(31:17):
though it's deserving of it, they haven't really believed in them.
And now you can't argue with Indiana, you can't argue
that they aren't deserving of all the attention that they
get because again, they're not just winning, they're winning huge
(31:38):
over teams. They're they're really taking care of business. And that,
to me, is is the excitement that we have. Uh
is a number. Lines are open, so please give me
a call. We'll stay on for as long as you
guys want. One of Somebody on Twitter says this is
(31:59):
the best team in school history and they're on their
way to do it being just that. For sure, they're
on their way to being just that. And you cannot
argue with it. As you start off eight to no
for the second straight year and you know that this
has just been last year felt like a gift. This
year came with some extra you know, extra excitement, extra
(32:27):
expectations in a way that didn't previously exist. And so
the simple fact that Indiana has done what they've done
is absolutely incredible. Now I'm gonna go ahead and let
you hear from head coach Kurt Signetty. We got that
all lined up and ready to go. So here is
(32:50):
sig from his postgame.
Speaker 11 (32:52):
Great team win, probably the coaches proud of the team.
A lot of guys contributed. UH did a lot of
good things. UH created turnovers, UH third down, stopped him
on defense, converted on offense, and UH.
Speaker 1 (33:09):
You know, it was on a.
Speaker 11 (33:10):
Big platform against a team that was hot, and UH,
we wanted to be physical and dominate the line scrimmage.
I thought we did early in the game. And Fisher's
play early in the game is a huge play. So
with that, I'll open up the questions.
Speaker 12 (33:27):
Hey, Kurt, Kurt, you talked about the line of scrimmage,
in particular with the defense. Uh ther tier guys. You
talked to people before the season about having to replaced
all the production and experience you guys had there. Uh
maybe one of your question marks obviously stepped up the
growth success development. What do you kind of attribute that
to with those guys like Tyrek and Mario of that group.
Speaker 11 (33:45):
Well, I think a big part of uh, you know,
run a football program is development, and you do that
through your strength and conditioning program and uh, the way
you coach, the way you practice and schematically, and I
think Pat Koontz does a great job with those inside guys.
I think he's a a terrific uh defensive line coach.
You know, he focuses on the inside guys and Buddha
(34:06):
focuses on the outside guys. But we run so many
different packages. Sometimes the inside guys are outside guys and
the outside guys are inside guys. So they meet together
and they do a lot of different things together, and
it's a blue collar group that's gotten better every week, exactly.
Speaker 1 (34:23):
Kirk kind of a double barrel question.
Speaker 13 (34:24):
First of all, how is Aiden Fisher And kind of secondly,
Isaiah Jones steps into I would imagine more not just
more snaps, but more responsibility when Fisher's not on the field.
Speaker 1 (34:34):
Just how did you see him kind of grow into
that today?
Speaker 11 (34:36):
Yeah, well, you know, Isaiah Jones is really taking a
big step this year and we've talked about that quite
a bit in the past and making a lot of plays.
Fisher made a huge play early in the game, and
you know we took him out kind of precautionary, but
you know, we'll do the X rays, the MRIs and
see what those say.
Speaker 14 (34:57):
Would guys ran for I think two hundred and sixty
something yards, felt like as you got in the second
third quarter, really opposed your will on them. Backs, really
ran hard, broke some tackles. I think he had one
hundred and fifty yards in those two quarters. Just your
thoughts on the old line and the job of the
running backs today.
Speaker 11 (35:15):
Yeah, well, you know, our backs run hard all the time.
Speaker 1 (35:18):
They really do.
Speaker 11 (35:18):
Him be and black, And you know when you break,
when you when a team, when you start to see
them wave the white flag, so to speak, and break
their will, it takes a while. It usually happens sometimes
in the third quarter, and it may have been what
happened here and then Martin came in made some good runs.
It's great credit the offensive line and tight ends also,
(35:41):
so you know, it's good to see those rushing totals
back up again.
Speaker 5 (35:49):
Coach, on both sides of the ball, you guys were
really good on the money downs on third and fourth down.
Speaker 7 (35:54):
What do you attribute to it on offense and then
on the flip side on defense?
Speaker 11 (35:59):
Well, you know, preparation, it's good preparation and execution.
Speaker 5 (36:05):
Uh.
Speaker 11 (36:05):
But you know, to me, it's all the same. You know,
it starts up front. You got one line of scrimmags.
You got to put heat on the quarterback on defense.
You gotta protect the quarterback on offense. You got to
separate throw and catch on offense and tight coverage on defense.
And if the quarterback doesn't have as much time, throwers
now as effective and you got to hit him. So
I think Bryant Haynes is difficult to prepare against. Does
(36:29):
a lot of different stuff.
Speaker 1 (36:30):
I thought UCLA's guy was difficult.
Speaker 6 (36:32):
To prepare against.
Speaker 11 (36:34):
And I don't think we separated like extremely well against
press coverage to day. Now we had some extended plays
in the pass game. Uh so uh, but the credit
all goes to the assistance and the players.
Speaker 13 (36:47):
You know, yeah, because your thoughts on how dominant your
defense has been all season. I think it's six offensive
touchdown aloud in eight games. Just your thoughts on how
well they've played and how many different guys have made
impact plays.
Speaker 11 (37:03):
Yeah, how many touchdowns on you?
Speaker 1 (37:07):
I believe it.
Speaker 11 (37:10):
Yeah, and we've played eight games. Not bad, Yeah, that's
pretty good.
Speaker 1 (37:16):
Uh.
Speaker 11 (37:18):
No, Bryan does a great job. The kids respawn. Uh,
they have a lot of pride.
Speaker 9 (37:23):
Uh.
Speaker 11 (37:23):
You know, we got some dbs back there that have
really good ball skills too, Like the safeties. As much
as I like to get on them about being late
to get lined up and stuff like that, they got
really good ball skills. They've made a lot of really
nice interceptions. Our linebackers do too. And uh, you know,
we stopped. We do a good job stopping to run.
Uh philosophically, that's where it all begins, Uh, stopping to
(37:46):
run TFLs and pressure and quarterbacks. So you know, as
I look at who we've played, uh you know, you
look at Oregon, their premier offense, right, and we had
a dominant second half of that game, and uh, you know,
we didn't really start very well against Michigan State. Right
after that dominant performance, we probably feel pretty good about
(38:07):
our cell phone. I was worried about that with the
offense today a little bit. But you know, got to
keep it going, keep healthy, and keep it going. Check
on your befit seven.
Speaker 15 (38:18):
Yeah, Kurt uh No team in college football has won
a conference game by more than fifty points except you, guys,
and now you've done it twice. As you mentioned, UCLA
was playing pretty good ball coming into this game.
Speaker 1 (38:28):
What about you, guys?
Speaker 15 (38:30):
Has allowed you to be so methodical in you know,
to your user phrase, breaking the will of the opposition
in some of these games.
Speaker 11 (38:36):
I think one of the keys is we just have
everybody on the same page, like I know what I want.
I got a lot of assistants. We've been together a
long time, and we all kind of like speak the
same lingo. And we got, you know, good players with
high character. They're good leaders, and some of them have
been with us pretty long time and they listened to
(38:56):
the message. And you know, I mean, we try to
play every play like it's nothing, nothing game on the line,
regardless of the competitive circumstances.
Speaker 5 (39:04):
And so.
Speaker 11 (39:07):
I don't know that's the best answer I can give you.
Speaker 1 (39:13):
Court. You mentioned your assistance a few times.
Speaker 15 (39:15):
What would you say are some of Mike Shanahan's biggest
strengths as a play caller that's set up the offense
for success.
Speaker 11 (39:20):
I think Mike does a really nice job of preparing
and taking collaborating, so to speak, everybody's opinions. And uh,
he's got, you know, a really good connection going during
the game with Chandler Whitmer and Bob Bo's dad because
you know, with technology the way it is and the
ability to look at iPad, you know, things are changing
(39:41):
every series, so they're making good adjustments during the game.
And uh, you know, Mike's got a great work I
think he's a smart guy, got great disposition, and he
was down them up today when they worked.
Speaker 1 (39:58):
No, I told him.
Speaker 11 (39:59):
Every time I've questioned called last three weeks, it has
been pretty consistent, because you know, sometimes I can pretty
rough on the funds. Every time I questioned a call
the last three weeks, it's gone for a big play.
Speaker 9 (40:11):
On a EJ he had I think five, one oh
nine and two just one what drove that?
Speaker 1 (40:16):
And two?
Speaker 6 (40:16):
How much does it help y'all?
Speaker 1 (40:18):
When he is playing at that level.
Speaker 11 (40:19):
Yeah, it's great to get big plays for me. Jay's
got a lot of talent. I've always been very high
on EJ. He's just got to make sure, you know,
when he's running in the end zone for a touchdown
that he doesn't taunt the defender, you know, because he
got a mulligan on that one from the official.
Speaker 8 (40:34):
But you play.
Speaker 11 (40:36):
In a game where it's game on the line, you
know that's spot file and now we got the ball
about the thirty yard line and don't get the points.
Speaker 9 (40:47):
Coach, the TfL's the sacks are one thing.
Speaker 1 (40:49):
For Isaiah Jones.
Speaker 9 (40:49):
What has he shown you though this season that's given
you the trust to give him the Green dott in
a situation like that with Ayden going down.
Speaker 11 (40:55):
Well, everything's earned, not given, and he's earned everything. He's
got smart player, just like Fisher is. And Fisher was
just a year ahead of him and his development because
when Isaiah came here as a freshman, he was injured
and you know, he's really stepped up and taking a
huge step this year and he's still a young guy,
and you know he knows the ins and outs of
(41:18):
the defense just like Aiden does.
Speaker 15 (41:23):
Coach Fernando was making some plays, extending the ball, improvising
a bit like a touchdown to each of the second one,
and then you know, using his legs to get downfield.
Speaker 1 (41:30):
What were your thoughts of his performance?
Speaker 11 (41:32):
Yeah, I mean, because we weren't doing a great job
of separate, separating on a perimeter, but fortunately the protection
was great and they had lost contain. And you know,
he's a mobile guy. He can extend plays and make
plays on the move and made a couple of really
nice throws and runs, and so you know, he's a
(41:53):
good player. I think we all know that and a
big part of the reason we are where we are.
Speaker 5 (42:00):
Thanks y'all, thank you.
Speaker 1 (42:03):
Eight one, two, three, nine three, twenty six hundred is
the number. We got a guest here who's out here
a UCLA fan, Scott wanted to join us. Have your name,
where you're from, and what.
Speaker 10 (42:13):
You got, Kevin Hogan. I'm from Valencia, California.
Speaker 1 (42:17):
So you're you're an UCLA fan, yes, And so you're
you watch them every week and then and you're familiar
with them.
Speaker 10 (42:23):
Oh yeah, graduating eighty two. I've had season ticket since then,
so I'm you know, seven eight games a year in
person and the rest of them on TV.
Speaker 1 (42:32):
So what was different today than maybe what you saw
over the last three weeks.
Speaker 10 (42:37):
Oh, I think it's your your lines just dominated to
play that both one defense end was living in the
backfield and your offensive line was just in control of the
line of scrimmage. And we got behind the eight ball
with the interception touchdown and just stupid attempts at kick returns,
and you know it was it was over early. And
(43:01):
you know, you guys are a great team and this
is your year. So it's it's the balls in your core.
You better take it all the way.
Speaker 1 (43:07):
So you know, you guys, I know got off to
an zero and four start. UCLA. Did you won the
last three you're working with? Uh? I won the last
three before today. You're working with an interim coach. What
excites you about the possibility of a new coach coming
in and what really does UCLA have to clean up
going forward?
Speaker 10 (43:26):
Well, it's it's it's we've been in a dark period
for the last twenty five years, to be honest.
Speaker 1 (43:31):
And uh, you know, seven.
Speaker 10 (43:33):
Years ago, whatever we thought we hoe we made the
big hire Chip Kelly, and he was retired and the
job basically he didn't care.
Speaker 1 (43:42):
We just had that at our basketball coach, the same way. Oh,
okay with Mike Woodston.
Speaker 10 (43:46):
So yeah, so it's it's so frustrating. You give him
the big contract and everything, and it's like you're stuck.
You can't afford to fire him because the buyout's huge.
But then again you're he's not doing enough to win.
He's doing okay, but not enough to win. And then
our ad brutal higher uh to Sean Foster was a
(44:06):
great running back, you seela, and then it was just
a running backs coach and I was sudden ninety six
hours after Kelly resigned. He resigned in February, so kind
of put us behind the people there and they, oh,
Deshaun Foster. It's like, the guy's a running back coach. Okay,
you know, let's get behind him. And then yeah, last
(44:27):
year struggled with five and seven, and then this year
lost the first three and just got awful. And it
was basically after the third game was like, we're after
northwester especially, he said we're looking at h to twelve. Yeah,
and then we turn around to beat Penn State unbelievably
and then went two more and it's like Hey, maybe
we're an uptick, but we kind of knew, well, we're
(44:47):
twenty five points dogs today.
Speaker 6 (44:50):
You guys are great.
Speaker 10 (44:51):
So and then when it turned out the way it is,
and yeah, it's your season and you know that's.
Speaker 1 (44:57):
Well in Indiana, fans know the pain of being twenty
five point underdogs. We did it for decades, so we
understand and how that how that is? And uh so,
what do you hope to see for the rest of
the season with this with your UCLA team?
Speaker 10 (45:10):
Well, we got we don't have the schedule ending. We
have a week off, and then we'd have a home
game against Nebraska and then follow that up with the
road trip to Ohio State. So we're looking looking like
another game like today and then uh uh, then we
play Washington home, and then we go ten miles from
campus and play USC at the Colisee. So if we
(45:34):
can win three games, we'd go to a bowl. That
would be Hey, we didn't create her totally, right, that's
that would be I think, okay, and then it's you
know who's the coach? Who's the next coach? And oh
ill stink daddy. A lot of people would have like Singnetny,
well he's off the board. You know, I'm glad he's here.
You guys deserve a good coach and everything. So you
got a good, very good one. So and you guys
(45:55):
put the money out. You're you deserve it. So good
job byt you guys, and we'll see what who we
You know, there's rumors all about Jed Fish maybe from
Washington and Tim Skipper. The interim is like a long
shot candidate. It was like if you would have done
something today and then against Owaio State, hey, well you know,
(46:17):
right a certain point.
Speaker 1 (46:17):
You're gonna go.
Speaker 4 (46:18):
Yeah.
Speaker 10 (46:19):
But you know he's a good guy and we like
him and stuff. And then Jerry news AISLESO we've seen
as a kid growing up with the program and UH
and this defensive coordinator that brought Kevin Coyle UH was
doing a good job. And it just today it was
just better man against UH. You know, better men. That's
(46:40):
that's all. You guys have a solid teams.
Speaker 1 (46:43):
Well, I appreciate you stopping by and talking to us,
and I really thank you. It's very nice people. One
all right, thanks a lot, appreciate it. Great day. Take care.
Eight one, two, three, nine, three, twenty six hundred is
the number give us a call. Uh, and uh, you
know that's what we're hoping that. I know that we've
(47:04):
we've had some connection issues along the way, but I
appreciate having these people come by. Is it called fellas? Yep,
take care. I stayed inside last week because it rained
so bad. People driving by really appreciated. Fifty six to
six is your final score. I think it's safe to
(47:27):
say that this era of having hurt Signetti under his
new extension has been a positive to this point Indiana
six touchdowns allowed on the season, and it has been incredible,
absolutely incredible. Got to make a last call for phone calls.
(47:54):
Parking lot is moving out. We're coming up on an hour.
I apologize for some of the issues that we have had.
We do have a caller that just came in, so
I'm excited for that caller. If I could have your name,
where you're from, and what you got.
Speaker 9 (48:12):
Hey, Ken, this is Ryan from Bloomington. How are you.
Speaker 1 (48:14):
I'm good, Ryan? How are you doing?
Speaker 9 (48:19):
You know I'm not too bad? Another great win there.
I had a couple of questions for you, sure. First
of all, Aiden Fisher, just curious what your thoughts were
on on that opening pick fix there. I mean that
just really felt like it. It's set the tone for
the game. You know, when you when you score, uh
(48:43):
what was it fifty seven seconds into the into the
ball game, you know it can't go too.
Speaker 1 (48:48):
Poorly for you if it's a hell of an athletic Yeah,
it was a hell of an athletic play because he
made that catch with one hand, and uh, you know,
just it was. I was surprised by it. And uh
to have the reflex and to be able to stop
the ball catching to hold on and then make the
move was really really impressive. And there's no question that
it really went a long way towards helping the Hoosiers
(49:11):
just get off to a start that they just never
let up from for sure.
Speaker 9 (49:19):
And then my second question, this one might be a
little bit silly, but would you rather have a first
round by in the college football playoffs or have that
number five overall seed that some people say.
Speaker 5 (49:31):
That might be an easier path.
Speaker 1 (49:34):
No, No, to me, you want the highest seed that
you can, the highest seed, because if you get a
five seed, that means that you've probably lost along the way.
And I want them to go out there and win
all the games that they can and trying to find
an easy path comes with its own hitfall. So to me,
as far as I'm concerned, give me the highest seed
(49:55):
that you can and we'll go from there.
Speaker 9 (50:00):
Sure, Ken, Hey, I appreciate it. We'll see you next week.
Speaker 1 (50:03):
Take care, Ryan, I appreciate it. Height one two, three,
nine three, twenty six hundred is the number we got
another caller, caller, if I have your name, where you're from,
and what you got.
Speaker 5 (50:16):
They can stay from outvill. How's it going, man, how
are you doing? I'm great, I'm great. Great win by
our Hoosiers today. Just what great physical overall great team win.
You know, a little concerned about in grief like everyone else,
but Nip. For the most part, I thought we came
(50:36):
out looking pretty good.
Speaker 1 (50:39):
Yeah, they uh, they wanted to go ahead.
Speaker 5 (50:44):
No, no, no, sorry, I.
Speaker 1 (50:46):
Was gonna say that that they were banged up a
little bit. Obviously. Fisher came out tomorrow. I had had
to come out to me. It looked like that the
most serious one was franky on the opening kickoff. But
we'll we'll find out more about that. But you know,
you guys get get beat up with Fisher.
Speaker 5 (51:02):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (51:02):
You know he had come in, he had his elbow
all wrapped and he had something on his knee and
then he kind of banged knees with somebody and came
out of the game. And it's nice to be able
to have a game where you're one of your best,
if not your best, defender can miss it and there
isn't a drop off in performance that makes a big difference.
Speaker 5 (51:23):
Yeah, and I just wanted to ask let's question. My
question is you know they was a day where I
looked physically imposing, dominated the line of scrimmage. Uh, Nico.
I don't want to Butcher's left name, but let's get
running for his life. Let's be second quarter. Do you
(51:47):
think that you know that's that that kind of physical
physicality has become a straight of value football, and you know,
do you think that something that we can continue to expand.
Speaker 1 (52:02):
And grow throughout the years? For sure? First off, yeah,
there are real physical defense and that's something that they
have a reputation for and that becomes a cultural thing too,
to where you're hitting guys and you're playing with violence,
but it's also clean violence. They're not taking dirty shots.
But that is a situation where it feeds off of
itself and you don't want to be the guy to
(52:24):
let down your teammates, especially your older teammates. And once
that standard is there, you want to uphold it. So
it becomes a cultural thing that can go from year
over year over year, and it is built. And look,
I'm gonna tell you right now, this is a team
that hasn't given up. Has only given up six offensive
touchdowns on the year, only four offensive touchdowns in the
(52:46):
last seven games. And so now it's a thing of
even if it's late in the game, Indiana's up big,
the guys that are the backups, they don't want to
be the ones to give up a touchdown. So that
is something that feeds off itself, and it just becomes
a culture thing that really really does make a huge
difference when in terms of coming on visits for recruits,
(53:09):
you know, working together in the team room, all of that.
It really feeds on itself.
Speaker 5 (53:17):
Yeah, I don't think I've ever seen an IE team
so basically dominant, you know, just gritty, just huh, you
know what I mean. Absolutely, it's the defense you've always
like dreamed up.
Speaker 1 (53:29):
It's finally here for sure. Absolutely, I agree. I appreciate it.
Speaker 5 (53:35):
Thank doing a great job and goo there.
Speaker 1 (53:38):
Thank you so much. Eight one, two, three, nine three,
twenty six hundred. Last call for phone calls here as
we uh been on the air a little uh just
just three minutes short of an hour. Overcome some adversity
today and uh, you know, hopefully it's it's good. The
chat has kind of gone quiet, so that doesn't help
(54:05):
with that. But I really appreciate everybody coming at, stopping
by and joining us on the air. It's been a
ton of fun. That's what I always have envisioned this as.
And we got one more home game. You got one
more chance to come and see me out by the
Tennis Center after Indiana's game against Wisconsin on November fifteenth,
I believe is the date on that because remember Indiana
(54:29):
has a buy coming up as well, and so that
is something that is going to be important in helping
this team get healthy for just the stretch run. For
the stretch run, they have this game against they go
to Maryland, then they go to Penn State, then they're
(54:49):
here against Wisconsin. They don't have the buye, but the
buy does come between Wisconsin and Purdue, so they'll have
a chance to get ready for the bucket game. But
Indiana fifty six to six winners at Memorial Stadium. Uh,
in a game that was just really really uh fun.
It was fun from the start and was exciting to watch,
(55:12):
to say the least. Again, thank you so much for
everybody that called, Thank you so much for everybody that
stopped by uh to talk to me. And uh uh
it keeps rolling baby eight to No. Number two in
the country, clear path to being undefeated on the season.
And Kurt Signetti has his contract extension and ain't going anywhere.
It's good time to be a Hoosier fan. And uh,
(55:35):
you know it's it's it's the best grant from the
chat says Mendoza should never dive headfirst again. I don't
argue with that at all. Uh. One last question, what
game left worries Uh? I think he meant worries me
the most. Penn State going to Penn State. That's that's
the game that concerns me the most because it is
(55:57):
still Penn State. And yeah, they're going through some things,
but they're going to want to get right and prove
that they are a team that shouldn't be overlooked. But
we'll see what state they're in at that point when
that arrives, and it's going to be one of those
games where Indiana will absolutely be focused and ready to
take care of business. What's all the time we have
