(00:43):
podcast that rocks Weekly podcasts. It talks about news in
the world of rock, metal, alternative, and everything in between.
My name is Luke, my name is Alex, and my
name is Rowan. Thank you so much for tuning in
for us. Thank you all for hanging in there live.
We started a few minutes late. Turns out I was
chasing animals and they were all such good boys and
a girl that I couldn't stop petting all of them.
You can blame me, I don't care. See how easy
(01:06):
that is. Just blame me for wanting to pet all
the animals.
Speaker 2 (01:08):
I'll take the blame for that every time you were
blaming Ivan last week.
Speaker 1 (01:13):
So well, yeah, he's adorable there, Well he's adorable, so
I can blame him for whatever I want and he
gets away with it. So yeah, it works pretty well.
Speaker 3 (01:22):
It's very true.
Speaker 1 (01:23):
Yeah, if we get to fifty likes on this live
broadcast on YouTube, we'll play at least one round of
festival rocker Flop, where we bugle random bands in a
random festival. Last few weeks have been pretty entertaining for
a festival rocker flop. By the way, I must say
thank you so much. If you also give a super
chat of a certain amount, we already have one. You'll
get your own festival. So we're looking forward to that
later as well, Thank you so much. My wife is
(01:45):
in the chat saying, stop blaming my child. He's a
perfect boy. That's not what you say about him earlier, ma'am.
He is a perfect boy. However, we're both gonna blame
him because he can get away with it. He's I
keep looking back, by the way, he's sitting like right
outside the door, just kind of looking at us like, well,
someone come play with me instead.
Speaker 4 (02:06):
See like looming in the hallway.
Speaker 1 (02:07):
He is, he's literally if you can see him on screen,
if you're watching, there's just this little shadow of a
giant dog lying on the floor. It's like, yeah, stop.
Speaker 4 (02:20):
Just like a black shape in your doorway.
Speaker 1 (02:23):
Dad, stop working for the love of God, for the
love of dog. So that's exactly what he would say too,
with that exact sound effect. Thank you all so much.
Please hit the like button. It does help us out
a ton. Also, thanks to Heavies again for helping us
out with the podcast and sponsoring. You got our new
earbuds coming, and we're all aware at our Heavies. They're
(02:44):
very nice. And no, we're not getting paid on commission.
By the way, even if you don't check out Heavies,
that's fine. Don't think we're actually doing this so we
can feed you know. That's just how it is. We
actually like to promote. That being said, enough of the
happy stuff. Are we all ready to get real mad,
just real disenfranchise and angry about a system? How's out
sound for a start?
Speaker 4 (03:06):
I am always ready to get angry.
Speaker 1 (03:09):
Ah see, I kind of sold this up while we
were talking about it, like, just well of the starting pseudos,
we're getting ready. I'm a surpriser for everyone that. I
don't think a lot of other podcasters and YouTubers and
channels did the deep dive on that I did, or
at least I don't think. So I got a surprise
for show and tell everybody. I can't wait. I'm all man, okay,
(03:30):
let me do this in the professional way. Let me
go to discord. Let me share my screen with everybody.
Tire screen gonna go here. First off, we're gonna go
to the article right up from Ultimate Guitar and see
this nice gentleman right here there we go, Oh yeah, bam,
got to push the button. All right, everyone, See this
nice friendly fellow right here talking about something or other. So,
(03:54):
this right here is the CEO of Live Nation, Michael.
I'm assuming I'm pronouncing that right. Looks like a normal person, right, Well,
this is the person like a year ago we found
out that makes roughly one hundred and thirty million dollars
a year salary. And that's before his good boy bonuses
and performance bonuses and everything else you can imagine. So
(04:18):
for those listening, Rowan has a big smirk on his face,
and Alex rolled her eyes so hard. I'm surprised she
doesn't have a headache. I do.
Speaker 4 (04:26):
So I'm not smiling because I'm happy or anything.
Speaker 1 (04:31):
I did not take it that. I did not take
your happiness.
Speaker 4 (04:35):
I'm just making sure that's that's on the record.
Speaker 1 (04:38):
See, most of us are aware at this point of
what we said, but I want to make sure everyone's
on the same page for what's happened so far. Oh,
someone's already throwing tomatoes in the chat. By the way, Hey,
you're not gonna have any for the dad joke later
nothing deserve your tomatoes. He can buy his own tomatoes,
I promise. So he made some comments on a live
(04:58):
interview and a live discussion about out though rising prices
and costs of concert tickets. When someone asks about how
they keep going up, whether it's inflation, cost of production bands,
things like that, well thought would be it for me
to be presumptuous. But he was put on the spot
and he did not give a good answer. Is that
safe to say before I read the quote? Yeah, yeah, okay,
(05:21):
all right, I'm not going to do an impression. I'm
not gonna read it in a smartbye voice. I'm going
to try to be as straightforward as possible. From Michael
Rapido Live Nation CEO. I think music has been underappreciated.
You know, I always joke sports like it's a badge
of honor to spend seventy grand for a Knicks court side.
(05:42):
They'd beat me up if we charge eight hundred for Beyonce. Right,
it's a real it's very under We have a lot
of runway left right. Okay, that's literally how it's written out.
By the way, he was kind of like trying to
figure out what to say. So when you read about
the ticket price is going up, it's still average concert
price is seventy two. Try going to a Laker game
for that and there's any of them or whatever the hell.
(06:04):
So the concert is underpriced has been for a long
long time. Soo, not only is this wildly misleading and
poorly explained, Like you could tell he was put on
a spot. Yeah, you could tell he was put on
the spot and he did not have the best answer. Boy,
oh boy, did he dig himself a very expensive, luxurious
(06:29):
hole in the ground to try to climb out of
with this. There has been no spin coverage or anything
like that either, because he doesn't care. He doesn't have to.
So I want to leave this on here right now.
I'll say my piece on this. I want to get
both of your thoughts. Alice in Rowan, I'll just say
this before I get my opinion on it. The seventy
two dollars price average concert is extremely misleading because that
(06:50):
does not go into accounts one like VIP upgrades and
all the stuff that Live Nation profits off of. And two,
it does not take into account the bajillions of dollars
on the resale sites, scalpers, bots and those things that
Ticketmaster also profits from. So again, wildly misleading on something
(07:12):
like that. So well, I want to get to their
thoughts first, and then instead of you just hump again,
I'll go to my surprise, Alex, your thoughts so far
on this.
Speaker 4 (07:25):
Quote?
Speaker 1 (07:26):
It is a quote. Yes, your thoughts on this quote
from mister Rappino.
Speaker 3 (07:30):
My thoughts on this quote? How dare you? How dare you?
That's it.
Speaker 5 (07:36):
I'm really trying to build up and try to anticipate
what you've got up your sleeve. So I don't want
to ruin it. I don't want to ruin the punchline.
I don't want to.
Speaker 3 (07:44):
I don't know this guy sucks.
Speaker 2 (07:47):
Ye.
Speaker 1 (07:47):
Yes, Also, it's not a punchline. You might want to punch,
but it's not a punchline, I promise.
Speaker 5 (07:53):
I'm so nervous for whatever you have to say. All
I have to say is this guy's quote does not
answer any of this.
Speaker 3 (07:59):
And this guy I'm not fond.
Speaker 1 (08:01):
Of him rowan thoughts.
Speaker 6 (08:05):
Just like the quote itself, it's just it doesn't even
give like the situation. It's full context. Yeah, and you
can probably get a cheap concert ticket, but the thing is,
just like say a Laker game or any sports game,
it's for the seats that no one really wants. It's
like the nosebleed sections, the balcony seats, the seats that
are so far away from the stage you could barely
(08:25):
see the ours, And it's just like, like, what am
I even getting out of this? I'm barely getting anything
out of this. Yeah, but if you really want an
equal seat or ticket, that's like that's several hundred at least,
and it's insane.
Speaker 5 (08:40):
Yeah, if we want to focus on the dollar amount
in this quote specifically, I don't remember the last time
I saw actual seventy two dollars seats at anything that Like,
you can't even find lawn seats for seventy two Bucks anymore.
Speaker 3 (08:53):
A lot of places.
Speaker 1 (08:54):
Yeah, yeah, I'll think of the same thing too, especially
for a Live Nation ticket master of venue we're talking Yeah,
the cool concert venue downtown. You know that's not Live
Nation branded or like the little club right yeah, like
right down the road we're talking to actually, like you
have Live Nation ticket Master app to get your tickets
and things like that. My wife chimed and also she
(09:15):
was able to get some my Chemical Romance tickets. Boy
would she have been happy if those were only seventy
two dollars. We will not be going into that how
much we pay for those concert tickets. Moving on quickly
from that discussion, So I one more thing about this
before I show the big surprise and start going into stuff.
His terrible comparison to sports is not only such apples
(09:37):
and oranges, because sports are completely different markets. For a
competitive sports where you can get super up close, which
is very safe, they don't worry about the same touring situations.
Those sports companies like the NBA pay their employees that
travel and or at home stations very differently. They have
a lot more merch licensing that they can feed to
their employees as well. It's a wildly different beast. I
(10:01):
don't know if you could have made a worse comparison
to try to sell his points. So yeah, so that's
a lot of information that we just threw at you.
I'm sorry, I just I wanted to make sure Alex
had Rowan got their thoughts out about our quotes. Here's
the thing, though, we laugh about for over a year
(10:23):
about how we much money mister Ruppino makes as a salary,
before bonuses, before all the perks and the shareholders and
the back pay and the dividends and all that stuff.
We still know Live Nations make it a lot of money.
We still know their profiting. Wouldn't it be wild if
someone did the deep dive and actually looked at how
much they were doing and seeing making that much money
(10:45):
year over year and seeing exactly what the profit margins were.
So to hear what he's complaining about, Uh, oh, someone
did research on the shareholder stock reports. Oh someone went
digging my dog. So I have one hundred and twenty
(11:05):
page document that they have to report every year about
Live Nation shareholder and stock reports that they have to
make public because it's a publicly traded company, And in
that they have a whole lot of information that I'm
not going to go through because a lot of it
is legallees, but they have to make sure everything is listed.
I've already taken out two little things right here. They're
(11:26):
going to try my best to blow up on screen
because again these these shareholder and stock reports and things
like that, they get a little lost. So our concert segments,
operating results were and discussions of significant variances as follows,
and you'll see a big number. I'll try to blow
it up on screen for everyone to make sure my
co host can read it and everything like that. So revenue,
you see it a year over year two on twenty
(11:47):
twenty four, twenty twenty three, twenty twenty two and a
percent change. I'm going to do my best to explain
this verbally as well for our podcast listeners. What you
see here is revenue. This is how much money they
took in in twenty twenty four, and it says at
the very top, and this is the summation of a
lot of this. Nineteen million, twenty four thousand, three hundred
(12:10):
two is like, oh, that's all they took But you
have to look up above the line of revenue in
that in parentheses Alex Jeroan, Can you see what says
on that little line if you can make it.
Speaker 4 (12:21):
Out in thousands? Is that right?
Speaker 1 (12:24):
Yes? So that means these numbers with a dollar sign
in front of them, that are all cash values. You
add three zeros behind. Yeah, we're talking billions here. Then
revenue for twenty twenty four for a Live Nation with
a year ending in December thirty first, twenty twenty four,
nineteen billion, twenty four million, three hundred two thousand revenue.
(12:52):
So do you understand now that this is might be
a little blown out of proportion when mister Rapido says
how cheap these concert tickets are, Because you see things
like this now, every company is going to have a
lot of expenses. Live Nation and Ticketmaster have countless moving
parts in countless cities around the continents. It's total stuff
(13:15):
like that. They have full time and part time employees,
some with benefits, some with that, They have freelancers, things
like that as well. You notice though they keep raising
their revenue year over year thirteen, going from twenty twenty
two to thirteen billion to twenty twenty four to nineteen billion.
That's a significant change when you look at even twenty
(13:36):
twenty four to twenty twenty three and twenty twenty three
to twenty twenty two. There's a lot of jumps in there.
There's so much more profit continued to be made from
Live Nation even in a year like this where I'm
gonna be honest this only this applies to all other
parts of the world as well. The economy is not
doing well in the United States like at all, but
(13:58):
people are still going to buy concert tickets to find
a way. This is a podcast that is dedicated to
music that we love and that includes live music. We're
gonna try to find a way to do this, but
they are definitely praying on what we're doing. So one
other little graph, I wanted to highlight sponsorship in advertising.
You didn't think all the money that Live Nation was
(14:18):
making was just from us lowly ticket holders. How next
time you go to a Live Nation venue, count the
ads and the commercial sponsorship spots and the placements at
one time at one venue. See how many you can
keep track of revenue twenty twenty four for sponsorships in
advertising one billion, one hundred and ninety five million, nineteen thousand. Geez.
(14:46):
That's for people trying to advertise at Live Nation. That's
them going to mister Apino, say, please, sir, talk about
our brands and hold our sign up at your venue.
Any amount will give and they do. This is all
for one year. Now, this is a lot of revenue. Okay,
(15:10):
tickets are not under price. I'm sorry, I've just got
another super chat. We'll get to all super chats at
a little bit. I apologize. I apologize. Also, I'm not
like super reading every chat. There's just so much to
go through. So these are the two things I wanted
to go through so far. Now we go back to
the things that like, back to the main document, and
those are two lotographs I wanted to go through before
I get to the big thing quick crash. Course of business.
(15:33):
If you haven't seen it before. Every dividend and accounting,
you have assets, then you have liabilities and equity. Assets
are your physical things that you have liabilities at, equity, debt,
all that other stuff. The things that are tangible, they
are things you're working on. What matters in the end
of the day is your revenue and your income or losses.
That's all you need to know. Revenue for twenty twenty four.
(15:57):
After it's all said and done, one three billion, one
hundred and fifty five million, six hundred twenty five dollars
in twenty twenty four. Now I feel like they can,
you know, figure things out. But again, they have a
lot of expenses, a lot. You see how much debt,
(16:20):
all the debt they have, You see how many employees
they have to pay out, You see all the equity
and buildings they're still paying. They pay so much. So
don't think they're walking away with all that revenue. They're
absolutely not. Income net income one billion, one hundred and
thirty one million, one hundred twenty four thousand. That's after
(16:42):
all debts, all employees paid, all assets, make made sure
they're covered, all liability is done, all shareholders paid off,
everything else they still have They still have these Yes
pretty much. And yes, actually yes that is actually factually correct.
(17:03):
Maybe a little more considering he might get bonuses as well.
But yes, yeah, over one billion dollars in profits to
live nation in twenty twenty four. What does that mean
for all of you? Well, if that interview led to anything,
it means twenty twenty five and twenty twenty six. As
(17:24):
we're going into twenty twenty six, now we're going to
see a bigger raise in prices for tickets because they
want bigger profit margins. And that's what they're talking about,
because if they're comparing it to sports and how much
sports is making, well, why wouldn't they have dollar signs
in their eyes? Why wouldn't they? So whatever you're paying
for ticket prices right now twenty twenty six, you might
(17:47):
want to open a new credit card line. So this
is where I turned to my podcast Costs to Go.
Did my surprise win you over? Did my fun feeling
and good idea?
Speaker 4 (18:00):
Make it overcurra.
Speaker 2 (18:04):
A?
Speaker 1 (18:06):
Did I sell it? Sad? You feel sad? Did I
sell and hype it up enough? Did I actually do
what I promised and said I got a surprise for it?
Speaker 4 (18:13):
Yeah, I'm surprised. Not a good way.
Speaker 3 (18:17):
Oh it's like people only do things because they get paid.
And this is just really.
Speaker 1 (18:21):
Sad, I know, right. See I remember over a year
like it was over a year ago, when we like
we looked up just the little stuff, not doing a
deep dive like this, like say, mister Rapino got only
paid one hundred million a year, just scraping by, you know,
and he had that thirty one million to help divest
to the rest of the employees. Fun fact, and this
(18:43):
is not on This is buried through other sheets and
things like that. This is also public, but it's not
on the page right now. The average Live Nation employee
makes less than thirty thousand a year because most of
them are part time for freelance. Keep that in mind.
So what it says they're making all those employees and stuff,
A lot of those employees don't work seasons, or they
don't work full year. If they work seasons, they work
part time. Yeah, so where's all the money going. They're
(19:06):
paying off debt, they're paying shareholders, and they're rolling around
in a Scrooge mc duck money.
Speaker 5 (19:12):
Ben just sucks so hard. It sucks so hard because
they are making good money. I don't care about the
expenses or the debt. The income is still the income,
and that could.
Speaker 1 (19:23):
Go toward helping.
Speaker 5 (19:26):
Yeah, it's a billion dollars and it does not need
to go to line Scrooge McDuck's pockets. It can go
toward improving some of these venues. And we've all been
to venues that can be improved that way.
Speaker 1 (19:38):
Oh, we can't paying.
Speaker 6 (19:40):
Or paying more to the bands who perform and get
these people to actually pay for the thickets in the
first place. By the way, too, absolutely, if you're making
over one hundred million dollars. I'm only speaking for myself here,
but why would you not just work one year and
then after that year get the hundred meal and just dip.
Speaker 4 (19:54):
That is fu money.
Speaker 6 (19:56):
It's like I can do whatever I want with that
much money.
Speaker 3 (20:01):
They don't think that way.
Speaker 1 (20:02):
They don't, you know why, because if I your just
one more year, I'll have double that few money. I'll
be a few money. So I think it gets to
the point.
Speaker 3 (20:12):
I don't know.
Speaker 5 (20:14):
I witnessed the craziest conversation the other day and it
was like some it was two guys, and one of
the guys was like, oh, yeah, I don't know if
I can go to that thing or I can.
Speaker 3 (20:25):
Let's just say it was a concert.
Speaker 5 (20:26):
I don't know if I can go to that concert,
you know, because I'm really broke right now.
Speaker 3 (20:30):
And the other guy's.
Speaker 5 (20:31):
Like, like, all your money's tied up in stocks.
Speaker 7 (20:34):
Like what what did you say?
Speaker 1 (20:38):
I was like, okay, ok.
Speaker 5 (20:40):
These people don't understand the no like do I have
to eat ramen all next week?
Speaker 3 (20:45):
Kind of you know what?
Speaker 6 (20:46):
I mean it's like, oh, go to a concert or
gas from my car.
Speaker 1 (20:51):
Yes, or my kids eat that type of thing too.
People like this that are great, great aspect of this
and that fees right into this mister Rappino, this image
and all this and people like him as well. He's
not the only ceo like this detached from reality, does
not understand the actual day to day life of ninety
(21:12):
nine percent of the world, especially ticket buyers, who I
want to say, on average, it's a big deal to
go to a one big concert a year, Like a
big concert one a year, that is a big deal
when you have a family, when you have a job
that doesn't pay enough for a VIP upgrade and parking
pass by the way, most live nation then use charge
(21:35):
for parking. Now that was a big thing that happened
this year too.
Speaker 4 (21:38):
Oh yeah, I'm even more mad.
Speaker 1 (21:40):
Yeah somehow yeah, so so bad. Sounds bad, but again
completely detached from not only the venues the staff that
work way under him, but also from the people buying
the tickets. So and that he's going on podcasts talking
like this and given answers like this, whoof.
Speaker 5 (22:05):
There's no if they do anything differently, This is just
pure corporate greed in its ugly glory. At least, I mean,
at least they could pay their freaking employees livable wages. Yes,
and they could stop the freaking bots.
Speaker 3 (22:22):
Like the minimum they can.
Speaker 6 (22:23):
Do, yes, yes, do something for the box because like,
it's so frustrating when when a concert goes on sale
or a tour goes on sale, and I and everyone else,
like you know, does the right thing. We wait and
we make sure that we're available for when the tickets
first go on sale. I wait in my queue, I
get to it gets to my turn, and then suddenly,
(22:44):
oh yeah, it doesn't matter that you were the one
hundredth person in the queue. All the tickes are already
bought up. And it's just like there's nothing like too
bad to you were too late, Better.
Speaker 4 (22:55):
Luck next time.
Speaker 6 (22:56):
They don't take into account that these people like mass
buy tickets through bot accounts or some other thing and
then they upsell them. It's yeah, it's terrible, it's so frustrating.
Speaker 5 (23:07):
That would be the minimum they could do to be like, okay,
peasants here, have something, just stop the bots.
Speaker 6 (23:14):
So it's gone to a point now where the bands
have to now do something on their end to make
sure that this doesn't happen, like making tickets non transferable
and whatnot, that type of thing. Yeah, it should not
be the band's responsibility to fix that issue.
Speaker 1 (23:29):
Also, and great lead into this the lawsuit that's starting
now about Livenation being in kahoots with all of these
ticket reseller sites, bot sites and things like that. Not
even bot sites, but like ticket reseller sites like seekek
stuff hub that don't use bots or authorized sellers things
like that. The thing is ticket Master makes the same
(23:50):
amount of money that way, So their response all they
have to do is oh, no, bots are bad, don't
use those, and they make the exact same cut they
would regardless of who buys them. What is their incentive
to stop because it hurts us? Yeah, that's what I'm
showing right now. That billion dollar profit income that has
(24:12):
increased significantly year over year twenty twenty two, three hundred
and seventy four million profit that's coming out of pandemic
to a billion dollar profit that's not insignificant. For companies
to go up like this without changing their format and
trying to improve systems is greedy, like yep cart, like
(24:37):
I make fun of Scrooge McDuck. This is cartoon villain greed.
Speaker 6 (24:43):
So there's gotta be like some sort of like there's
got to be like some something they got to do
just to make sure that there's no body counts. Maybe
like a thing where it's like, oh yeah, verify that
you're an actual person buying his ticket something like that.
Speaker 4 (24:55):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (24:56):
Sure, I don't know what it would be. And without
incentive for Live Nation to do something, I don't know
when that would happen. And this is the dark part.
Speaker 4 (25:05):
Yeah, it's probably not going to happen because there's no incentive.
Speaker 1 (25:08):
And this is the last dark part that we'll move
on because I know this is a downer subject and
I know I'm bumming everyone out, but it is important.
Say that lawsuit goes through Live Nation to Ticketmaster have
to split up, and Live Nation has or Ticketmaster one
or the other has to pay everyone off and a
big fatty class action lawsuit and we all get a
little bit of cut for the concert tickets we paid
if we sign up for it, and that all happens
(25:29):
in two years from now. Well, they have a billion
dollars to play with, and there's no way that class
action is going to go up to a billion dollars
even close, not even close. So that's a big old
shrug your shoulders from one mister Michael Rapino, CEO of
Live Nation. So, how's everyone feeling on this Wednesday evening? Good?
(25:52):
You're feeling good, happy to be here. Thanks for checking
out the podcast that rocked again. We really appreciate all
the likes you give us my podcast post I've gotten
by By the way, my podcast co hosts, they really
braved through a lot of that when I was just
like reading all the information. Thank you both for being
patient and squirming through the pain on some of those things. Yeah, yeah,
(26:15):
well okay, were all okay, we okay, rowing you good, Alex,
You're good.
Speaker 4 (26:20):
I'm as as you can be.
Speaker 1 (26:21):
Chat light, what are we doing? Chat? Any feelings? Any
feelings you'd like to say? Now? Chat? I apologize. It
wasn't that I was like trying to ignore chat. That
was not the intention. It was just so much information
I had to go through with the like balance sheets
and shareholder reports, the fun stuff, right, welcome to a
fun podcast. Oh yeah, screws mc duck would never go
(26:44):
that far again. Yes, okay, this is the perfect thing too. Woohoo,
class action lawsuit looking forward to my fifteen dollars. Yes,
that's exactly what it would benefit out to as well.
Speaker 5 (26:54):
And that's honestly, I'm gonna tip my hat even further
to all American rejects going full rogue and doing their
Oh yeah.
Speaker 1 (27:04):
I and this sucks to say I want to see
more bands, Say screw this, We'll just go to the
smaller club indies that are not tied with Live Nation.
That would be a faster kick of the butt than
a lot of other ways we could do this, like
planning ahead and cheff so check.
Speaker 6 (27:23):
If you want actual affordable tickets, go to like a
site like dice or something. It's some more like local,
more glubbier type venues, but again you'll it's way more
like cost friendly than anything you'll find on Ticketmaster.
Speaker 1 (27:35):
Yes, thanks for the investigations. Sherlock home.
Speaker 8 (27:39):
Soh yeah, oh good one, goodness so much just said,
please tell me there are some good stories to come?
Is that what this podcast has become? Just me reading
the sads all week?
Speaker 3 (28:00):
Please? No, please stop?
Speaker 1 (28:03):
So how about we take a deep breath and move on.
Thank you all so much. Also, happy birthday in the
chat to Julia, Oh, happy birthday. Let's move on. A
Veed sevenfold will be canceling their tour plans because another
vocal injury. I don't know how else to lead into this.
(28:24):
This is the big stuff. What do you happen to do?
Speaker 4 (28:26):
So this depression train is just keeps going.
Speaker 1 (28:30):
Next stop. I've aed Sevenfolds Latin America twenty twenty six.
Speaker 9 (28:35):
Got my throat scoped, and I have a hematoma on
my left vocal fold.
Speaker 1 (28:40):
Which, yeah, this got it.
Speaker 9 (28:42):
Else last yek I had in twenty seventeen. In twenty seventeen,
though I decided to keep singing through it, took a
bunch of pills and ended up resulting in surgery and
shut this down. You know. Apologies to everyone who's made plans.
Speaker 1 (29:00):
Money and this is what hurts to this party.
Speaker 9 (29:03):
Enough to make you able to make the proper plans
and kind of change the dates to January. Apologies to
the bands, all of them have flown down here already,
our crew, everyone's already down here.
Speaker 1 (29:20):
The equipment.
Speaker 9 (29:22):
A lot goes into this.
Speaker 1 (29:24):
So for those who are not aware, that is m
shadows of n' sevenfold. It's the same thing that's happened
to him again and literally tour was ready to kick off.
He is not in condition to sing again and before
live this is like what he says his last statement
before he goes on vocal rest for quite a while.
If he does it right, he won't need surgery and
then the tour will resume in January. It sucks, but
(29:46):
he's doing the right thing by doing this.
Speaker 3 (29:49):
Absolutely interesting.
Speaker 4 (29:53):
Yeah, it's interesting that like.
Speaker 6 (29:56):
The last time this happened to him, it was twenty seventeen,
because I saw him in twenty seventeen. They were opening
from Metallica a met Life Stadium as part of the
Hardwire tour, and when I saw them, I thought they
performed amazingly. If you had told me that he was
taking medication or he had this issue, I would not
have thought that. Really, So I mean, like again, pros
(30:18):
in for soldiering on through that that was already a
risk as we know, because he had to get surgery afterwards.
And seriously, like I and I think every fan agrees,
this is better. Just give him the time, let him
come back when he's ready. It's just so we don't
have like some bigger issue where he just can't perform
at all anything.
Speaker 1 (30:39):
I would have rolled fun for anything, and I would't
roll to take lead on this one too, So I
let in the poorly. Obviously, I didn't know how to
lead into that one. You saw him in twenty seventeen.
I saw them last time in twenty twenty three. That
was like right after Life's but a Dream came out.
He sounded fine, but again that's over two years from now,
(31:00):
so I can't really speak to how he's doing now.
So again, this sucks, but I'm glad that he caught it.
I'm glad that he went to a doctor. Think about
the people that would not even try to do that
till it's way too late, so.
Speaker 3 (31:14):
Or just doing irrepara little damage.
Speaker 4 (31:17):
You like no one wants.
Speaker 6 (31:20):
We'd choke about like older singers kind of like showing
their age, but no one wants that. So as as
much you could do to just mitigate and just prevent
that type of thing, like I think everyone agrees do that,
Like we would prefer that if it means that long
term you get to perform in top shape, then yeah.
Speaker 1 (31:41):
Also they he did say that, like tickets are available
for refund if you want to do that, you can't
make the January dates, which is also a good thing
to do. They're losing a lot of money because again
they have to ship. They flew every one down there.
They're gonna have to fly Hi back and then but
back again. That sucks, but that's life. I'd rerap. This
is the worst case scenario. They're doing the best they can,
so I do say hats off to them and truly
(32:01):
wish them well. And it's another sucky thing for Latin
America and South America because they get really entertainment starved
down there, especially for heavy music and big tours like this.
So for something like this to happen for them, that's
way worse. We are touch spoiled in the United States
for tours like this. I think that's very safe to say.
Despite what I mean, mister ceo over here, he would
(32:24):
definitely read that we're quite spoiled, So you know, things
like that as well. Hey there's a good time back
into it the right word, but yeah, yeah, yeah, good's
not the right word.
Speaker 5 (32:35):
But I'm super stoked that m Shadows is actually preemptively
taking care of himself.
Speaker 3 (32:40):
Ahead of this, even though it does suck for the fans.
Speaker 1 (32:43):
Yes, it's the right thing to do.
Speaker 6 (32:44):
So yeah, I feel like also the fans would would
prefer this again. The alternative is that like he does
irreparable damage and just can't potentially couldn't even sing anymore.
Speaker 1 (32:55):
Yeah, he was on vocal rest law a long time
in twenty seventeen. When that happened too, it was months
of no talking. So yeah, here's hope for the best.
Hell yeah, here's hope in January comes without a hitch.
Here's hoping he doesn't have to be on vocal rest
right now for too long and things come back a
lot smoother because it sounds like you caught it a
(33:15):
lot earlier this time. So okay, I think that's the
end of the bummer news. We are now going to
move on to some slightly more either neutral or good things.
Everyone ready chat. I told you there'd be good things
to talk about. I promised. So this was brought up
(33:36):
to me by the podcast co host. And remember how
bullet from by Valentine said, we're gonna go home. We
don't want to play anymore, we want to record a
new album. Still haven't heard anything about that new album yet,
but Trivian was just kind of left on stage shrug
of their shoulders going and they were overseas too, which
really sucks. But we have a little bit of a
(33:57):
response from one mister Kichee Man tour.
Speaker 10 (34:01):
So now everyone's kind of wondering, Hey, this was.
Speaker 4 (34:03):
Apposed to be a world tour.
Speaker 10 (34:05):
You and that other band said this is a world
tour from January through December.
Speaker 1 (34:08):
Well we did.
Speaker 10 (34:09):
We flew over to the UK to do a press
conference promising a world tour from January through December, and
you know the old saying it takes two to tango,
while our dance partner dropped off after three months of touring,
and we're like, we want to keep playing. We've had
people say, hey, what was the drama with this story.
It's just we wanted to play shows and someone else
didn't share. So we're going to keep playing shows. That's
where're gonna seeus Aftershock. That's w we had this Trivium
(34:30):
Ginger Harriet tour. We've got so one.
Speaker 1 (34:33):
That's a great way to pitch or plug your tour.
By the way, and while promoting the festival, he did
interview in Sacramento for After Shot coming this month for
DWP two. He confirmed everything we thought, which sucks. Because
if you're a Bullet for by Valentine fan, that makes
things not look too great for the band. Even more
(34:54):
so when mister nice guy bad Hafey, who rarely has
said a bad thing, has to say this, that's pretty bad. Yeah,
Grady said it. Yes, you didn't have to, but I'm
glad you put it out there. Thoughts.
Speaker 6 (35:14):
It's just I feel like this is what Bullet did.
It's just so unprofessional. Look, I understand you're excited about
writing a new album. Good for you, but you agree
to this. You already got into it. You already got
like you were three months into it. You already had
the show's booked, people already paid their money.
Speaker 4 (35:31):
You owe them the show at that point.
Speaker 6 (35:33):
You can't just dip out because oh, we don't feel
like it anymore. That is so unfair to everyone else
who is involved in this. It's just so frustrating.
Speaker 5 (35:43):
It is super frustrating. And I couldn't imagine. Sorry, I
couldn't have mentioned being that hafe right, like being on
the other end of the because he what did he say?
It takes two to tango, So I couldn't imagine being
the other band on this press. You know, at this
press conference or what giving up for this full on
world tour, and all of a sudden it's like, oh, hey,
(36:03):
just kidding, not happening, and you can't do anything about it.
Speaker 1 (36:07):
That sucks, No, you can't. Yeah, And also I just think, okay,
business analytic mind, you're already on tour. You already spent
the money for production and road crew and everything to
be out there. This is where you make that money back.
If you're already on the wheels on the ground and
you already know you're gonna make money and tickets and merch,
wouldn't you want to at least finish the current leg
(36:28):
even if you don't do the other stuff. So you
make that money, then go do the other stuff where
it won't cost you insane amounts of having to pay
back and super net losses.
Speaker 6 (36:40):
By the way, you're touring with Trivia. You're bullet for
my balance on touring with Trivium. You're two of the
biggest names in metalcore. This tour was selling.
Speaker 1 (36:49):
Yes, it was like Europe had big, big number sells
for that as well. So again, glad go ahead.
Speaker 3 (36:58):
They're doing all of the things that they need to do.
Speaker 5 (37:00):
With what deck, with what cards, they were dealt right,
so they're doing it right.
Speaker 3 (37:05):
They're addressing it now.
Speaker 5 (37:06):
We already knew, but now it's been stated, and now
we've got new music to look forward to. They're playing Aftershock.
It's this Trivium is doing it right, and we knew
they would. So it's good to.
Speaker 1 (37:17):
See Yeah again. And I'll end with this, And I
said this months ago, I sure hope that new album's
worth it. I really hope that does gangbusters on the
pre orders. I hope it launches your tour to New Heights,
because otherwise, if it doesn't do that, not only was
this a waste of time, it's gonna make you look
like jerks for doing this to other bands, and no
(37:37):
one's gonna want to tour with you as much.
Speaker 6 (37:40):
Oh yeah, no, Actually that's a great angle because we
never even talked about that. Now it's like now all
eyes on this are on this album to be like
the greatest thing ever, because apparently you think it's enough
to do all of this. So if it's even just okay,
I feeling like people are not gonna like that.
Speaker 3 (37:57):
You just raised your own bar to really really high.
Speaker 1 (38:01):
Levels and in a bitter, ugly way, Ellie I believe
Australia they canceled my date's when the tour fell apart. Yeah,
and that wasn't even on the European Oh come on again,
I hope. Like, by the way, maybe it's not the
full Man, maybe it's just Matt Tuck. But I just
can't stand this enough because I've been doing rocks for
(38:24):
ten years now, a little like seriously, been doing rock
for ten years, maybe more than that. And I just
remember the press releases, Alex, you might have seen these
as well. Every time Bullet from My Valentine has an
album come out, it is hyped up as the biggest
thing in metal, the heaviest thing they've ever done, the
biggest album they're ever going to have. Well, I hope
(38:44):
it's true this time, because boy are you you're betting
on red. Everything's on Red right now.
Speaker 5 (38:51):
So yeah, when they did, they did that every album cycle,
every single cycle, anytime they were shipping a new single
to radio, it was like the newest, toddest hit from
Bullet for My Valentine, And it was always like.
Speaker 1 (39:04):
It was there, it was fine, yeah, yes, fuck.
Speaker 3 (39:08):
Like you're still waiting, Yes, where is it though?
Speaker 1 (39:12):
So all right, I guess twenty twenty six is gonna
come and we're gonna get the next Appetite for Destruction
or the next uh never mind. And it's coming from
Bullet from My Valentine twenty years into their career. So
I'm gonna do just just hype it up. Just hype
it up as big as potentially possible at this point,
(39:32):
the next Dark Side of the Moon's coming out from
Bullet from My Valentine at twenty twenty six. Just go
nuts with it. At this point, you know.
Speaker 6 (39:40):
It's one thing to say I'm really confident about this album.
It's another thing to say, oh, this is gonna be
the greatest thing ever.
Speaker 4 (39:45):
This is gonna be like the White Album too or something.
Speaker 1 (39:49):
It's just they're Welsh if I'm correct, so that way
they can make the UK reference. Also, you thought Revolver
was good, Well, guess what Paul McCarty couldn't do what
we're gonna do in twenty twenty six. Just go nuts
with the guys falling from Avaltide, Just go off the rails.
Speaker 6 (40:07):
It's so cringey, and almost all the time it never
lives up to the hype. You're just setting yourself up
for failure. When you do something like that, just be like, hey,
we I n album. We're really confident about it, we're
really excited about it.
Speaker 4 (40:20):
We hope you like it.
Speaker 5 (40:21):
There you go, honestly, yes, the best approach is to
be humbled. They're like, oh, you know, it's it's nice
and I hope you guys like it. And then it's
like the best thing you've ever heard.
Speaker 1 (40:31):
The quiet approach so much Jesus Christ. Yes, the quiet
approach has so much more of an effect. There's so
many albums that had that quieter approach. I'll be brief
about this, we'll go into it. One of my favorite
stories about that way back in the day, when Lincoln
Park was waiting for their next album after Hybrid Theory,
but they released Reanimation all the remixed songs, which were
(40:52):
really good. People were saying, well, when's their next album?
What the heck has been years? And they finally posted
their first single Somewhere I Belong and said the new
album will be three weeks after this. Bam, that was it.
The album was already done at that point, quick window
for release. They didn't hype it up is the best
thing ever. They just said, here's the news stuff at
(41:13):
it launched Mediora and everyone that loved it. I'm not
comparing lin Can Park to Bullet from my Valentine. I'm
saying the quieter approach where you just sit down and
work while touring. Because they made some of Mediora on
the road, there's some merit to that. By the way,
they made Mediora when it was not easy to make
(41:34):
stuff on the road. So yeah, in the day. So
I just I'm again hats off to Trivium for doing
the best they could go to see that tour too,
Trivium and Ginger and all that. That's great, that's awesome.
So yeah, speaking of me your music. In twenty twenty six,
(41:55):
I wanted Rowan to lead with the event sevenfold stuff
and talk a little more about that. Well, I want
Alex to talk about another band that's coming out, because
Evan Essence has some news for twenty twenty six.
Speaker 2 (42:07):
Alex, are you done? Hyper Are you done? HYPERVENTI lady,
and I gotta get a paper bag. Evan Essence is
one of my favorite bands of all time. I know
nobody knew that, nobody had any idea.
Speaker 3 (42:21):
I'm super excited.
Speaker 4 (42:22):
I know.
Speaker 5 (42:22):
I'm sorry you had to find out this way. But
I love Evanessence. I'm a huge fan of been for
a very long time. Amy spoke with Loudwear at Louder
than Life. That was a big performance from that festival.
Everybody was talking about Evanescence and Paul McCoy teaming up again,
and everybody was talking about how good that show was,
and Amy Lee shared some thoughts and had a nice
(42:43):
conversation and started kind of teasing what we can look
forward to from Evanessence, and there Amy Lee is having
a phenomenal year. Twenty twenty five is like the year
of Amy Lee in some small aspect. I mean, from
the Halsey collaboration with the Hand that Feeds to their
new single reaching number one, to their most recent collaboration
(43:05):
with Courtney La Plant and Poppy So Evanescence Slash Amy
Lee are having a fantastic year. So this is just
like the trajectory I think that we can see for
Amile and Evanessence.
Speaker 3 (43:16):
Two new songs.
Speaker 5 (43:16):
Already out this year, and they've got like half of
a new album ready to go, ready to be released
in twenty twenty six. And she says early, but she
says not like January or February. So I am very excited.
All of the music we've heard from Amy so far
is so good. Whatever she's working on in addition to
that will be super rad.
Speaker 1 (43:36):
I'm willing to bet there will be some surprises because
she's become more comfortable with collaborations. I can definitely bank
on a few surprises on this new Ebinesnce album.
Speaker 4 (43:45):
I would love if they do like another Poppy or
Spearbox collaboration, because any of you.
Speaker 1 (43:50):
Was just so good. There's no reason they can't because
they're all friends now, they all went to each other's
houses and stuff. Why would they want to do it again.
They saw the reaction of the first one when they
wanted to do it again. So yeah. Also, the quota
says when I say beginning, I don't mean January early
twenty twenty six, so any even first quarter, even March,
that's pretty good, you know.
Speaker 5 (44:13):
Honestly, I so I love the first two albums really
are my favorite Evanescence albums. I know most fans of like,
oh it was with them, institute whatever they're like. Those
first couple of albums really hold a special place in
my heart, and for me that speaks true Fallen is
a banger that is a multi platinum album that still
(44:33):
reaches new fans consistently in this day and age if
it and I again, we can't hype any expectations or
get any expectations wound up. But if we harken back
to any of that old school evanescence kind of like
some of the stuff we've seen recently, and maybe also
throw in a little bit of like the Open Door
of And I don't know, I'm just excited whatever they
put together will be super fun.
Speaker 1 (44:53):
Okay, So I'm also I mean, this is just makes sense.
All this hype for twenty twenty six new album, these collaborations.
You're getting a tour for evidence it's in twenty twenty six.
I'm not even a betting man, and I would say, yeah,
you can bet on that, and you can probably bet
on festival performances. And I'm also betting on some festival collaborations,
(45:13):
if you know what I mean.
Speaker 6 (45:14):
I just imagine when they go on to our alex
You're gonna probably be like clinging to the bottom of
their tour bus like in Cape Fear.
Speaker 5 (45:23):
I mean, I got it to work on some upper
body strength. But yeah, totally. It's gonna be fine.
Speaker 4 (45:27):
You get some time, you got some time before twenty
twenty six.
Speaker 1 (45:30):
She has the magnetic gloves that like she can just
like smack to the side of the wind. It's a
tour band and she can just head on that way
the sun. Yeah, there you go.
Speaker 5 (45:42):
So I'm gonna I'm gonna do it professionally. I'm going
to be like, hey, guys, I'm your new tour manager.
Speaker 3 (45:48):
Let's go.
Speaker 1 (45:49):
Oh yeah, that'll work well for the all the real
tour managers like block that closet somewhere. So Rowan and
I are distracting the real tour manager at a festival
while Alex sneaks in back and makes her pitch. Oh yeah,
she gave me the headset. I'm gonna be in charge
of the rest of the tour. Hi guys, Okay, you
(46:11):
guys want to go eat some food or something?
Speaker 3 (46:12):
Is that how this works? What are we doing?
Speaker 1 (46:14):
Is that how this works? You shouldn't lead with that.
You shouldn't lead with that one if you're going to
try to be their new tour manager. So I'll be
scheduling you. Is that it? Right?
Speaker 3 (46:25):
Where we go?
Speaker 1 (46:27):
Right? You want to play some so do you want
to go play Washington?
Speaker 3 (46:31):
It'll be, it'll be. It's fine. It's winter. Wait, it's winter.
We can't play Washington.
Speaker 1 (46:35):
Wait, oh Washington State. Oh. I had us going to Washington,
DC the last five hours.
Speaker 6 (46:40):
Uh oh, why'd you schedule us for New Orleans in July?
Speaker 4 (46:46):
That's horrible.
Speaker 1 (46:48):
I thought we could go swimming. Doesn't that sound fun?
Not New Orleans?
Speaker 3 (46:54):
Granted you guys a boat in the bog, it'll be great.
Speaker 1 (46:57):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (46:58):
Oh man, it's an outdoor venue too.
Speaker 1 (47:02):
Oh yeah, the amphitheaters for outdoors.
Speaker 3 (47:04):
Yes, I got us a sponsorship for bugspray. We're good
to go.
Speaker 1 (47:09):
You're gonna have to take a bath in that bug
spray at that point, just fill in the bathtub and
jump in it.
Speaker 3 (47:14):
So the fatty endorsement deal.
Speaker 1 (47:17):
Deodor It and off Off mosquito repellent for rocks. Those
are two endorsements. Hey do you steak and you are
your stink attracts bugs? Well, do we have the products
for you and one? Oh that would be a good
two and one deodorant and bug spray. Someone put it
all over your body. Yeah, yeah, I might as well
just do that. People would buy that.
Speaker 3 (47:39):
Do we come up with good things.
Speaker 1 (47:40):
We do well, I'm the human testing on. Yeah, the
human testing on. That's going to be real gross, But
you know what, we'll work something out. Something.
Speaker 6 (47:50):
I wish I had a death Cord concert last night.
I'll just go to I'll bring the proct to the
next one. I just started spraying people around the pit and.
Speaker 1 (47:57):
Yes, if it blinds yeah, if it blinds them too much,
if they don't smell anything, not enough. And we have
to like work on those different amounts. So perfect error. Yes,
So see good news. There's good things happening. Amy Ly's
going to have a tour, Alex is getting a new
job as a tour manager, and we're going to try
to make the metal world stank less perfect Yeah, and.
Speaker 4 (48:19):
We're gonna make some money while we're doing it.
Speaker 1 (48:21):
Yes, I mean, we won't make my nation money, but
we'll make money. That's that's fairy want us. Speaking of
happy things, we got too fatty tours I got announced.
IM want to cut into Alex's tour announcements just a little,
but these are the Biggins. So first, we got a
word that Ghost is bringing back the Skeletur twenty twenty
six tour dates, more Rena dates for a no Phone
(48:43):
tour and for those wondering, like if why it's still
no phone? The no phone thing worked pretty well in
the States. It actually did really good. They got good
results out of it. So starts in Orlando, I know, Florida,
but they go all throughout the US and parts of Canada.
It's a pretty good amount of dates. In January, you'll
be inside in the arenas, your cell phone locked up.
(49:05):
Papa will be singing and serenading you. I think that's
pretty cool.
Speaker 6 (49:10):
Have you guys like they started like posting the pro
shots of the of this tour. Have you guys been
seeing that because it looks amazing.
Speaker 1 (49:16):
Yeah, clips of it, and my wife shot it so
like she set herself to. It was a very high
end production. So yeah, so hopefully I get to shoot
it if it's but it's not really coming near me,
I don't I don't think I can ration a Florida
trip just for ghost. I don't think we'll suck it.
(49:37):
Oh yeah. And then on top of which, the one
that got announced today. I'm excited for this one because
we're getting peel It back Part two nine inch nails
More tour dates. So although sold out tour dates that
had a huge reaction in the big arenas in the
US and Canada. They're doing like number two to a
lot of cities. They didn't get it before starting speaking
(49:58):
up New Orleans in February, then going through April ending
with Coachella as the nine Inch Noise performance, which is
a collaboration thing they're doing.
Speaker 4 (50:08):
That's near me.
Speaker 1 (50:10):
Oh okay, yep. They're going to the nation's capital, They're
going all around. They're going to Arizona, they're going to California,
San Diego, Nevada. So here's one thing too, March seventh
is probably too early for any Sick New World type,
So Nina Nails would not do Sick New World I
don't think, even though that would fit the vibe, but
we don't know if sickness that's yeah, that's.
Speaker 5 (50:31):
What I was kind of thinking with the Evans and
stuff there, but I didn't want to jinx it.
Speaker 1 (50:35):
I can definitely see Mnsen's doing that. That's that's like
right in the pocket as well. And then Poppy yeah,
and then Pop in Spirit Box would be there anyway
at that point, so why wouldn't they But big old
tours yea and they are all available on Live Nation
and Ticketmaster, where you can pay whatever money you feel
fit and maybe you'll get a chance to buy a ticket.
(50:58):
It's oh, oh, oh no, I'm going back to this
guy's image. You know, it's gonna get dark. The worst
thing that I just thought that I could totally see happening.
You ready for this? Oh my, My podcast co hosts
are silently shaking their head no and or just staring blankly.
It's going to get to the point and I actually
can't see this happening where you have to pay, or
(51:20):
have the privilege to pay to get into the queue
to buy tickets, like a speed screw you like a
speed passage, just.
Speaker 6 (51:31):
The opportunity to buy a ticket. Then you can go
at yourself, think about oh my god.
Speaker 1 (51:37):
Think about speed pass and fast pass at Disney World.
You're already paying the big ticket in the park. Well
if you don't wait, well yeah, but the wides four
hours and how much dissy you miss if you pay
just a little bit more for this one ride, We'll
let you go ahead.
Speaker 5 (51:52):
Look here, Luke, you've already you've already given people ideas.
You stop it right now, you shut your mouth.
Speaker 1 (51:58):
I got it by the way too.
Speaker 6 (52:00):
That doesn't change the fact that like the first couple
of people, even the people ahead of you in the queue,
who probably will pay for the passes so they could
be first, they'll still probably They're still probably the guys
who program all the boughts and mats by all the tickets.
Speaker 1 (52:11):
They have the money yeah too. Yeah, and guess what yeah,
ticket Master gets the cut of that too. So why
are they going to stop the bots from getting the
past past passes? First?
Speaker 4 (52:19):
Stop it, Luke.
Speaker 6 (52:21):
Honestly, my my pitch would be is that, like you
just uh, you have a bunch of would be concert
goers fight in an arena, the winner gets the ticket,
and you televise a whole thing and make it a
pay per view event.
Speaker 4 (52:34):
That's my pitch.
Speaker 1 (52:36):
Let's get in the queue, punch you in the mouth.
Speaker 3 (52:38):
Let's go.
Speaker 1 (52:40):
Yeah, I probably won't be able to do It'll be fine.
Let's got kicking the shins first, then punch in the mouth.
You have to do the one.
Speaker 3 (52:48):
Too, thank you, so that'll probably be easier.
Speaker 1 (52:52):
Okay, so we'll move on after this. My wife has
shimed in. This is a great reaction to this. There's
an amusing part in our area that was used to
be not owned by Cedar Farms, who's own six Flags
and all the theme parks. It just got bought out
bout last year and acquired by Cedar Farms. Well, this
theme park has an amazing haunted house like haunted thing
every year Halloween haunts, like the high end stuff. Well
(53:14):
now starting this year that it's with Cedar Points. You
have to buy a separate ticket from just the festival
admission or the amusement park admission. You have to buy
a separate ticket if you want to do the Halloween
Haunted thing. So that's the type of stuff you deal
with me to get all these cor organizations and stuff.
So me thinking of pay for the opportunity to get
in the queue faster. Yeah, that that's really easy for
(53:34):
them to program. And yeah, yeah they already have early bird,
they already have early bird stuff. It's just the.
Speaker 6 (53:43):
Those types of systems make me not want to do
anything to begin with, because like I don't want to
have to keep track of like what package I have
or what or what is included in what I did
buy or something like that.
Speaker 4 (53:55):
Yeah, but it's just so stupid. I hate it. I agree,
I hate that we got to this point.
Speaker 1 (54:01):
I agree. I'm looking at this picture of the CEO
of Live Nation going he would love every word I
just said. Yep, he would hug me. He would literally
hug me.
Speaker 5 (54:12):
No, he would probably look at you a little less
down his nose than normal.
Speaker 1 (54:17):
Oh that's true. Yes, he's like, hm, fair.
Speaker 3 (54:20):
Enough, there's a give you like an eyebrow raise.
Speaker 4 (54:23):
Yes.
Speaker 3 (54:24):
Oh my goodness, I just I.
Speaker 1 (54:28):
Just love by the way I love her the responses
of the chat. While they're all figuring out the logic,
I was going through seeing the reactions, It's like, oh no,
this is.
Speaker 6 (54:40):
The nerd in me talking here. There's a character in
One Piece called Boa Hancock, and she's like the pirate
queen of the One Piece universe, and she does like
this thing where it's like when she looks down someone,
she leans all the way back because she doesn't want
just to make sure that her head it cannot be
further up from your Like, okay, I just imagine that's
(55:02):
what he's like to If I have any weeds in
our chat right now, who know what the hell I'm
talking about. Hopefully you can picture this or just look
it up.
Speaker 1 (55:13):
You know, we're being too hard on this guy. He
works hard, right, I actually don't know if he works
hard or not. That's an honest statement. I do not
know how hard this guy works.
Speaker 3 (55:22):
I'm gonna venture to say he doesn't work that hard.
Speaker 1 (55:26):
That's probably a safe bet.
Speaker 4 (55:28):
Guys, I work so hard.
Speaker 6 (55:30):
It's like it took my assistant hours to get me
my ayahuasca appointment.
Speaker 1 (55:36):
Right. I had to spell it ayahuasca for too, which means
I had to look it up. Whatn't Oh, you're right,
he has an assistant look things up for Oh me?
Speaker 2 (55:49):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (55:49):
All right, final this story before we get to our
weekly stuff. I share this with my co host. I
think they had the same reaction I did. But it's
really funny. It's brief. But in case you wanted the
next action packed graphic novel, but you also want something
music tinted? Well, does Axel Rose got something for you?
(56:12):
That's right, Axel Rose, I said, you mean you don't
want Appetite for Destruction the graphic novel you got? Oh?
You guys don't understand. There's a pitch for it, Like
there's an actual new story twisting around what it is.
Are you ready for? I don't want to read the quote.
(56:33):
Sure hit me with the pitch, Axel Rose Appetite for destruction.
That's the title. Is a raw Neon war fever dream,
part rock anthem, part cyberpunk prophecy Axel and I built
a World War Rebellion is just attitude. It's survival. It's
Axel like you've never seen him before, on the front
(56:53):
lines of a battle for humanity's future. In this one,
Axel Rose will be cyborg. Hmm, that's the story.
Speaker 4 (57:06):
Okay, is it gonna start?
Speaker 6 (57:07):
I just imagine Axel is going to just put himself
in the cyberpunk universe and like the comics is gonna start,
which Keanu Reeves walking into y'all wake up Samurai.
Speaker 1 (57:19):
That'd be good.
Speaker 4 (57:20):
It's like, what the hell is this?
Speaker 5 (57:23):
Looking through the pages, the animation is beautiful, Oise.
Speaker 1 (57:28):
The artwork is not going to be the issue, like
the quality of the artwork, because this is licensed, this
is going to be that. I'm I'm more concerned of
the content and the direction they go with mister Rose
and some of this, because one, it will not be
for children. Two it won't even be for adults. Three
I think it will only be for Axel Like it's
(57:49):
gonna make Axels look amazing and cool, and everyone else
is like, oh.
Speaker 3 (57:56):
Half human, half robots, fringes.
Speaker 4 (58:02):
You guys, do you guys know about this?
Speaker 6 (58:05):
Like like years ago, the streamer Ninja made his own
graphic novel where basically he got transported into the world
of Fortnite and actually has to fight in Fortnite.
Speaker 1 (58:16):
But wasn't he was like, actually there, but wasn't that
more comedy based?
Speaker 4 (58:22):
I don't know. I never read d I.
Speaker 1 (58:25):
Didn't either, Like if it was more comedy based, I
would accept this more. I would be like, Okay, you're
having fun with it. This reads Axel Rose a cyborg
superhero saving the future.
Speaker 6 (58:39):
It just sounds like a cyborg cyberpunk story that just
happens to star Axel Rose.
Speaker 4 (58:44):
For some reason, it's completely u.
Speaker 3 (58:51):
Oh, this is great.
Speaker 1 (58:52):
I don't know, guys, part of me does want to
see this now, don't AS's like, you're not even just
a little curious to see what it is. I don't
mean for the quality. I mean for what actually he's
gonna pull in all of the Shenanigans.
Speaker 5 (59:03):
Oh wait, I misread that he finds solace in the
music of a back alli lounge singer.
Speaker 1 (59:09):
Maml Well that's wholesome.
Speaker 5 (59:12):
And then she vanishes under mysterious circumstances.
Speaker 4 (59:18):
Say the girl is that it?
Speaker 1 (59:19):
Yeah, that's not even that's not even clever for like
the nineteen forties, let alone twenty twenty five. Well, it's
coming from Sabarian. You're gonna get find access to that.
I tell you what, if we hit Patreon goals or
podcast goals sometime when it comes out, like we could
do like a little fundraiser type thing, I will do
(59:40):
like a live reading of it, like some of it
because it's gonna be too long, and just show everyone
what the world is gonna be, because I don't know
how long this is gonna be. If it's only like
a couple issues, that's pretty easy. But man oh mano boy,
we'll find out more info on Axel Rose app be again.
(01:00:00):
It's so somethings. Yeah, I don't know. It could be misleading.
It could be a lot of Axl Rose selfies and
like old time photos and stuff in the back as well.
Oh like an art book, yeah, art book making of
that type of thing too, So we shall see again.
I just love the idea cyborg Axel Rose singing nose
(01:00:22):
and all his enemies and they just got to fall
and collapse in the future. So you can.
Speaker 3 (01:00:27):
Buy maybe his powers.
Speaker 4 (01:00:31):
Sorry, go ahead, I was gonna.
Speaker 3 (01:00:33):
Say, you can buy one of these packages for only
three hundred dollars.
Speaker 1 (01:00:36):
Oh yeah, that's probably about right.
Speaker 5 (01:00:38):
Yeah yeah, hardcover map of Paradise City, art book, bandana,
t shirt, collector, coin, axle, figurine and more.
Speaker 1 (01:00:48):
Yeah, that's that's that's right. Yeah, well we need the
guns and roses. Fans will buy it. They will. They're
die hard about that. So you know what, I that
will make money, even even for the people they want
to even read the book, They'll just want it. They
just want to have it. So whatever money money. All right,
We're gonna move on. We have lots of other things
(01:01:10):
to talk about just for our weekly stuff. Thank you
to chat. We will get to all super chats. Let's
get to our weekly business. First, upcoming tours I already know.
We talked about nine Jals and Ghost anything else you
want to talk about, Alex your upcoming tours this week?
Speaker 5 (01:01:22):
Honestly, those were the two big ones on my list.
We also had Kenny Wayne Sheppard. He announced twenty twenty
six tour dates. Other than that big head Todd in
The Monsters and Need to Breathe.
Speaker 1 (01:01:33):
Okay, very cool? Yeah. Yeah, So again, save up your
money for when those tickets go on sale for Ninice
Jals and Ghost and buy them because ticket prices are
going to go up next year. So you know, uh rowan.
How about albums coming out for October third, twenty twenty five.
Speaker 6 (01:01:51):
And it's a decent lineup all things considered. We got
Agriculture with the Spiritual Sound. They're a new black metal band.
Gave some of their music a listen to ahead of this,
and you know what, I like it. Black Metal's not
usually my go to, but this was good. It was
actually there was actual production value to this, which is
rare for black metal. We got some We got a
lot of death metal actually with the blood red Hourglass
(01:02:13):
We should not be buried like this and Orbit Culture's
Death above Life. Really excited about Orbit Culture loves them.
Fighter Moo's in is coming out with Talk is Cheap.
They're a metalcore band based up in Syracuse. Again, just
really solid stuff and you know they're fellow New Yorker's
got to show them some love. Afi Silver Bleeds, the
(01:02:33):
Black Son honestly, like, uh, you know, AFI is like
one of those bands I kind of go in and
out of.
Speaker 4 (01:02:39):
But I don't know.
Speaker 6 (01:02:39):
They've been getting a lot of tension with the build
up to this, with the new look that the singer's got.
He kind of does he did what Fred Durst did.
He had like that seventies dad look like the fro
and the handlebar mustache, the mustache.
Speaker 1 (01:02:54):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:02:55):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (01:02:56):
And finally, guys, I'm telling you right now, this is
the album the year.
Speaker 4 (01:03:02):
The Wiggles, The Tree of Wisdom.
Speaker 1 (01:03:04):
Oh yeah, I wonder if the Tree of Wisdom. Okay, Okay, thanks, I'm.
Speaker 6 (01:03:12):
Going right now, better than even in Arcadia, better Thanami.
Speaker 1 (01:03:18):
Also, by the way, yes, we are aware. Friday, October
third is Taylor Swift's release, a day we are aware.
Speaker 6 (01:03:26):
I know about that too. I didn't want to give
her any more attention.
Speaker 1 (01:03:30):
We got to help people like the CEO Live Nation
and Taylor Swift. I mean those two.
Speaker 4 (01:03:35):
There's there's Taylor Swift needs helping, yes.
Speaker 3 (01:03:38):
From our money, obviously, from our.
Speaker 1 (01:03:40):
Podcast they need. She needs help from our podcast especially obviously.
Speaker 3 (01:03:46):
We know it.
Speaker 1 (01:03:47):
Oh my wife just said the Tree of Wisdom is great. Okay,
then see there you go. We all it all works.
So as we go on, it is my turn for
song of the week, and this week I picked one
from the latest el from Dying Wish Flesh Stays Together.
I Don't Belong Anywhere. It's one of the bigger, louder,
angrier hits. This is more for those who are not
(01:04:08):
aware Dying Wish is new. One is great. I talked
about it on Patreon Exclusive. This is more of the
metal core realm they went on this album. Also, this
is an angry album. So if you were really upset
about the live Nation sore that we spent a lot
of time on the first half this podcast, go listen
to the new album from Dying Wish. That'll help frustrate
like that that frustration and get real cathartic for you.
(01:04:29):
I promise it'll help. So that being said, Oh yes, Gretchen.
Speaker 8 (01:04:33):
Yes, yes, okayesh, that is actually your birthday.
Speaker 1 (01:04:39):
My Friday is my birthday.
Speaker 3 (01:04:40):
Yes, Luke's got all the things him Taylor Swift release.
Speaker 1 (01:04:47):
Yes, it's me and girls day too, as my wife
likes to remind me. See and now this year and
this year I'm sharing it also with Taylor Swift, so
it's a beautiful year for you. Clearly, Claire, just trying to.
Speaker 6 (01:05:00):
Enjoy your birthday, and then like down the road that
you just hear like a Swifty screaming her head off
as she.
Speaker 4 (01:05:06):
Listens to a new album.
Speaker 1 (01:05:07):
Yes that is.
Speaker 4 (01:05:08):
Gon't tell me there's not gonna be some Swifties like that.
Speaker 1 (01:05:12):
Maybe I am not going to the record store on
October third for that. No, no, no, thank you, no, no, no,
thank you. I love I love supporting the record shops.
I will not be there on Friday. No, thank you. Sorry,
just can't make it. But I do appreciate all that.
Speaker 4 (01:05:24):
Thank you.
Speaker 1 (01:05:24):
Thank you for all the happy birthdays, Gretchen, thank you
for acknowledging October third is also Luke's birthday and not
just saying it's Mean Girls Day again. Uh, it was
my birthday first, that's the problem. I was born well
before Mean Girls came out?
Speaker 6 (01:05:39):
Am you Aaron Satmuels some Michael Bolton jokes from office space?
Speaker 1 (01:05:44):
Yeah yeah, kind of the same logic. Yeah, there you go.
So we also a much name should Why should I
change my birthday? Oh wait, I guess that's a little harder,
I guess, so.
Speaker 4 (01:05:57):
Yeah, just go Mom, could you go back in time.
Speaker 1 (01:06:00):
Oh yeah, and wait a.
Speaker 5 (01:06:01):
Day, Just draw a little squigglies on the three and
make it at eight.
Speaker 1 (01:06:06):
That's Ober eighth, I guess. So we now go to
the poll from last week. This was shows and from
rowing which sleep Token album did you prefer Sundowning or
the place will be Kunger Tomb. This place will be
Kunger tumbe one by almost a two thirds ratio sixty
five percent over Sundowning thirty five percent.
Speaker 4 (01:06:28):
I'm a little bit surprised by this. I thought this
would be like a little more split down the middle.
Speaker 1 (01:06:32):
Over one thousand votes, so a pretty good amount of
people voted to so this week, however, I wanted to
go since we got a new Nini is Nails announcement today,
I wanted to go a little bit more for the
nine is is Nails theme and I want to flash
it on screen. I want to make a pull live
poll while we're doing the super chests and other stuff.
Which nine inch Nails album do you prefer? And I'm
not including the downward Spiral, I'm saying album versus album
(01:06:55):
nine inch Nails, Pretty Hate Machine or the Fragile? Which
nine each Nails album would you prefer so I'm going
to ask that in chat right now. I have an answer.
I won't give it just yet because I'm going to
try to do this, which none is Nails album, but
these are the two that I think also really stand
the test of time with nin Iss Nail's identity. And
(01:07:17):
I always felt that way, and it still blows my mind.
These albums are nine years apart, which a lot of
people don't realize, like how much time is between those
two nineteen eighty nine nineteen ninety eight. There's a lot
of that.
Speaker 4 (01:07:32):
I forget.
Speaker 3 (01:07:33):
Yeah that Haymson came out in eighty nine.
Speaker 1 (01:07:36):
Yeah, yeah, exactly a lot of people do.
Speaker 6 (01:07:38):
There was a good good There was like a lot
of like there was a big gap between the Dower
Spiral and the fragile, like there was the they did
a bunch of EPs.
Speaker 4 (01:07:46):
I know, but we're talking to albums, yep, like what
five six years?
Speaker 1 (01:07:50):
Uh? At least four yeah, I want to say four
ninety four to ninety eight. But also like all the
time like that was like right after like recovery for
restaurants stuff too. The Ghost album is gonna start to
be like he was laying the pieces up for the
Ghost albums. I just lost the pull. I gotta do
it again. Oh YouTube, you just can't go a day
without having some type of hiccup. Which Nana album do
(01:08:14):
you prefer? Again? Thank you for the happy Birthday notes?
Very nice of you. Do you guys have any preference
that you know of? Yes? I gotta be honest, dude.
Speaker 4 (01:08:24):
Do you actually pick this one's tougher for me? I
gotta be honest.
Speaker 6 (01:08:29):
I like both these albums more than the Downward Spiral,
and I'm just trying to I never put the two
of them like up against each other. I think I
might go Pretty Hate Machine just because I know more
of the songs outside of my head than the Fragile,
but the songs.
Speaker 4 (01:08:43):
I remember out the frashiw I freaking love Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:08:46):
Also, Sacker in the chat also makes a great point.
He was doing soundtrack work back then at that time too,
for video games and stuff and singles. Alex, do you
have a preference?
Speaker 2 (01:08:56):
Yes?
Speaker 5 (01:08:56):
I am a big Pretty Hate Machine fan that album
front to back. I have always really enjoyed. I'm honestly
going to say it too. I want to get more
than Downwards Viirl.
Speaker 1 (01:09:04):
Very nice. I am in agreement with both of you
on this poll. Pretty Hate Machine versus the Fragile, I
would say pretty Hate Machine. They are different beasts, to
be fair. I mean, eight years apart is going to
do a lot for or nine years apart, it's going
to do a lot, especially for tournet Restorer, who at
the time was living ten lifetimes with all the tragedy
and triumph and things like that. Pretty Hate Machine was
(01:09:25):
way out of its time though for what it delivered,
and still holds up when you listen to it even today.
It still sounds fresh. It doesn't sound dated like many
other of its contemporaries in the late eighties, so that's
just me. Fragile is still great too, think the Fragile's
awesome vote in the live poll is the YouTube chat
right now. Thank you guys so much. I'll leave that
(01:09:45):
poll on here as well. I'll pin that in the
comments on the YouTube page. If you watch this later
and in the podcast not as you can click on
it from there. I am curious see what this one's
going to be. I hope we get good engagement out
of that. Guys, ready to read some super chats because
we've got quite a few. Thanks you everyone for the
super chats. By the way, super Check super Chats will
be shared with Michael Rapino so he can help afford
(01:10:06):
some of his bills. We're gonna try to help the guy.
So Ellie Yeats who were neewed his membership and did
a super Chip Thank you, Eli Yeats. Unrelated bet but
special congratulations. The Spectrum Pulse Mark and his wedding was
on the recent The Sunday Spectrum Pulse is one of
the people I do stuff with on the YouTube channel.
He has his own review channel, Spectrum Pulse. He just
got married this past weekend. So if you're in the
(01:10:28):
if you ever go see the Spectrum Pulse Mark Rondon,
just leave a comment saying congratulations on any of his videos.
He'll see him live now I show the Honeymoon Mark
ps Live Nation CEO should be thrown out. Okay, great
statement on that. That CEO is making all those shareholders
so much money, why would they throw him out? So yeah, yeah,
(01:10:53):
it's nice for me, it's nice to think. But yeah,
from Minego Montoya tickets are not underpriced. Rather they are
over priced, just like Rapino salary. A touch that maybe
just scale a little bit back towards reality. A touch
I don't know. Thank you. Minigo Montoya from Homeschooled Punk.
(01:11:16):
Our billionaire is not even slightly worried about Hell.
Speaker 3 (01:11:20):
I don't think so.
Speaker 1 (01:11:21):
They think they can buy their way out, like absolutely,
Saint Peter hasn't like a machine you can just like
stuff cash into or swipe your card to get in
absolve yourself.
Speaker 4 (01:11:32):
It's not even like that.
Speaker 6 (01:11:32):
It's just like I just you just slip Saint Peter
like ten billion dollars.
Speaker 3 (01:11:38):
Yeah, they're like, where's the queue for first class? Thank you?
Speaker 1 (01:11:41):
Oh that's right. They'll have lanes for Heaven like first
class VIP, and then there's all the economy, all the
economy people.
Speaker 3 (01:11:50):
What boarding group are you out?
Speaker 1 (01:11:51):
Yeah, like a plane? Why do the economy people have
to stink up our lanes here? By first class to Heaven?
They believe that they would they would want that, they
would actually want, they would absolutely want a first class
part of Heaven. They would want Heaven to have like classes.
So from Sucker, as a long time Bullet fan and
(01:12:15):
has met the band once, I'm surprised they're still around
despite this entire situation happening. I blat Matt Medley. Yeah,
I think a lot of it has fallen on one,
mister Tuck so and I get that as a bullet
fan too, like again that makes sense, but and that
ego yes, And finally from homeschool Punk another one if
(01:12:37):
both from My Valentine's album flops. Trivium can tell them
that they have to pay the price of your betrayal,
you betrayal and it's sung out like in the parentheses.
Well you know what, Yes, that's that's well done. That
won't get the wood golf clab. So I'm gonna leave
the chat open while we do some festivals. Alex and Rowan,
are you ready to book some festivals? It's been a
(01:13:00):
weird week.
Speaker 4 (01:13:01):
I am born ready.
Speaker 1 (01:13:02):
So let's hope for the best on what we call
festival rock or flop. Each week. Whoa, that's not right,
that's more like it. Each week we tried to book
some random middle of nowhere radio station festivals four bands
per day. We already had a light goal. So we'll
have one festival for us. We'll name that after then
(01:13:22):
we have several festivals for all the super chatters. Thank
you again, not too late if you want to get
a super chat in. By the way, thank you guys.
So much for hanging out. I hope for the best.
We've had some oh hilarity the last few weeks with this.
Is that a polite way to say it? I thought
it was hilarious. Shenanigans might be a better term for
what we're doing here, Yes, that actually might make sense.
(01:13:45):
So first off is our festival. This is the folders,
so that way everyone knows I'm not cheating, and you
see it Live with my Curse. I just pull up
right here. Band number one Ugh, oh oh, simple plan. Well,
Alex and Rowan will go. Maybe my wife. My wife
(01:14:07):
will go just because she thinks it's funny. Now. Also,
his t shirt that they are selling is I'm just
a kid crossed out. I'm just an adult. Get it.
Speaker 3 (01:14:19):
At least he's moving with the times. Some people don't.
Speaker 1 (01:14:24):
Kind of. He was pretending to be a teenage when
he was almost thirty. So movie with the Time is
for him.
Speaker 3 (01:14:31):
Let me spin it positively, all right?
Speaker 1 (01:14:33):
Mad Number two malevol Lens Boy. Do those two bands
not sound alike? Okay, get a lot heavier. Number three Wargasm.
This tour is all over the at this store, This
festival is all over the place. I do love the
idea of Wargasm fans freaking out, Simple Plan fans huh.
Speaker 6 (01:14:57):
At number four, that's somebody you got take in the
kids generation, how the fans interact with each other?
Speaker 1 (01:15:03):
True and number four bad religion. We have bad religion,
the true punk classics of that, and then Simple Plan
a weird one. It's a weird one. I don't even
(01:15:24):
know what to name this festival. I think Worgasm's fun
Bad Religions was a blasted ride fest. Belevolence is fine.
I don't know if I have it in me to
go to something like this though, just because I wouldn't
even know what to make of it all. Does that
make sense?
Speaker 3 (01:15:41):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (01:15:41):
You could probably call it the sure question Mark Festful
Punk Festival.
Speaker 1 (01:15:49):
Sure punk, Sure yeah, sure punk. Right, that's the festival name.
We'll do this in Chicago, just because we'll do that
like in the middle of nowhere, Springfield, Illinois. There we go.
That's the capital, Springfield, Illinois, not Chicago. Collective madfest nice man,
(01:16:12):
So yes or no? In the chat please yes thumbs down.
Bought a ruined Okay, that's pretty clever, because also Chicago
not bought a rube, but bought a ruined. That's okay,
that's pretty good pass. How could this happen to Luke?
Speaker 6 (01:16:26):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (01:16:26):
No, no, skip punk, I might be forced to go
just BECU wife might want to see simple plan a boy,
do I know that feeling? How could this happen to me? Fest? No, no, No,
they're not getting naming rights on this one. No, guys,
I think this is a no. Is that what I'm
looking at from the chat?
Speaker 3 (01:16:45):
Yeah, there's not enough. There's no yes?
Speaker 1 (01:16:47):
Is I see one? Yes?
Speaker 6 (01:16:48):
Now?
Speaker 1 (01:16:48):
Yes, but I also see a no right after. Yes,
I'm going for bad religion.
Speaker 11 (01:16:53):
Okay, guys, yeah, three, yes, three, I'm gonna be This
one's hard because it is there's no reason I would
want to go, like really really badly.
Speaker 3 (01:17:03):
I like worgasm. They're really fun, but.
Speaker 4 (01:17:06):
It's like I'm indifferent. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:17:08):
Sure, that's a good way to put it. Cat in
the box, Eggs, thanks so far? Yes, yes, yes yet No, Cratcha,
you can only get one. Yes, you can't count that
as multiple. All right, you know what we're gonna move on.
We're on defence with this one. Will we just say
yes or no right now? Whatever? Whatever? Fest, there we go.
We're not going to la yeat Fest. This is where
(01:17:29):
we step it up yet Fest. Let's see if you
got something good for us. But Number one alter Bridge,
there we go. They're a blast live, they're fun. Number
two Green Day and on the day September ended, Boy
is that perfect? Green Day? Alter Bred he woke he did? Yeah,
we woke him up today. Yeah he's all set. Wow,
(01:17:52):
Alex really like that joke.
Speaker 3 (01:17:56):
Work at a radio.
Speaker 4 (01:17:57):
I got dad jokes too.
Speaker 1 (01:18:00):
It cut out.
Speaker 3 (01:18:01):
I got today for wake me up with?
Speaker 1 (01:18:04):
Did you wake up Billy Joe today? Dude? I'm like,
is that the do they actually say?
Speaker 10 (01:18:10):
Do?
Speaker 2 (01:18:14):
So?
Speaker 5 (01:18:14):
If you're watching and you listen to the station, that's
how I think of you when you call me ten
times to ask me to play that song.
Speaker 1 (01:18:18):
To be fair, if you're calling a radio station ten
times to play a song that's been over for twenty years,
you're gonna get made fun of a little. You got
to accept that.
Speaker 6 (01:18:29):
I mean, like, if they're going either way to call
you ten times in the span of one day, I
would just play for him because apparently he doesn't have
much else going on.
Speaker 1 (01:18:37):
That's true. That that is it was a couple of
different people, but sure it was. But over yes, yes, yes,
that is true. Green Day, alter Bridge, Lamb of God, Youth.
That's is looking strong. Okay, yeah, I'm digging. I'll go
(01:18:59):
to youath Fest just off this alone and number four
star set. Guys, I'm there heath Fest. I'm not gonna
even ask the chat. Come on, Green Day, Lamb of God,
star Set, alter Bridge, I'm there, Come on. That's great.
Speaker 5 (01:19:15):
Eli Yeat made this festival for you for your birthday.
Thanks freaking birthday.
Speaker 4 (01:19:19):
Well.
Speaker 1 (01:19:19):
Thank you to Ellie Yeats and the randomizer for working
its magic to make this one. Thank you. I don't
even know where heath Fest is. I'm going to you
Fest this time, absolutely yeah. I've seen the yes is
and absolute last easy one to do Minigo Montoya Montoya
Fest number one, the Offspring, okay, number two, God is Dead.
(01:19:56):
The next band will be done by kids Bop.
Speaker 4 (01:20:00):
If it's a band I love, I'm gonna be pissed.
Speaker 1 (01:20:03):
Are we ready? Alex Rowan, Alex are you ready?
Speaker 5 (01:20:06):
No?
Speaker 1 (01:20:07):
Thank you Rowan? Are you ready sure? The next band
will be done by Kids Bop? It is filter, that's weird.
Speaker 6 (01:20:18):
Hey man, nice shots by a bud.
Speaker 1 (01:20:22):
I'm thinking no, I'm thinking, hey man, nice shots by kids.
You're gonna speed it up and it's gonna be horrible.
Speaker 3 (01:20:30):
What have you done?
Speaker 6 (01:20:32):
Gonna take a picture that's about him being an alcoholic.
Speaker 1 (01:20:36):
Some of Filter's songs are dark.
Speaker 4 (01:20:40):
Yeah, this is.
Speaker 1 (01:20:42):
Awesome and what have you done?
Speaker 3 (01:20:47):
I'm thinking through the lyrics and like, how can this be?
Speaker 1 (01:20:49):
Why am I? I don't want to think this way.
I'm thinking of all the possibilities now American cliche a dose,
Oh no, that would get things shut down. There are
some songs kids will not be allowed to sing out
this Filter shed but that's okay, Filter Bop we got
the offspring. Oh good thing they didn't have to see
(01:21:10):
the offspring. That'd have been worse, the offspring Filter Bop
Rob Zombie Boy. That would have been wild too. I
would have been crazy. And number four bear too. Be
honest with yourselves. You're curious, aren't you? Just a little? Okay?
Speaker 4 (01:21:35):
Okay? Are they the first act?
Speaker 1 (01:21:38):
Yes? They would have to wait.
Speaker 6 (01:21:40):
Okay, I can tough it out because I like the
other pants.
Speaker 4 (01:21:44):
I can tough it out.
Speaker 3 (01:21:46):
I'm with Rowan on this one.
Speaker 1 (01:21:47):
Yeah. I like Filter. I would have rather had Filter.
Speaker 3 (01:21:50):
But whatever.
Speaker 1 (01:21:51):
You can't win them all. No, you cannot win them all,
so it would be Filter Bop, Bear Tooth, the offspring
Rob Zombie. By the way, that is absolutely a radio
station festival in the middle of nowhere. Come on now,
I'm in it, just I'm in just for Filter Bob.
(01:22:11):
Well then, oh, that's right. Homeschool punk makes a great point.
All the kids pop songs are made like into different meetings.
So hey man, nice shot. It's about taking pictures at
the zoo. That could be out taking pictures somewhere else.
Speaker 5 (01:22:26):
That's fineography the set, everything's about photography.
Speaker 1 (01:22:31):
Hey man, nice water.
Speaker 4 (01:22:32):
Done?
Speaker 1 (01:22:33):
All right, yep, I'd pass and leave. Yes, yes, yes, haha,
super beast, Yes, I'm going. Guys, this is a yes.
Look at the chat. Come on. Yeah. See it wasn't
the end of the world. It was a good idea
(01:22:54):
to have that in the folder. Yeah, it's fine, everything's fine.
It could have been much worse, don't could have way worse.
Speaker 5 (01:23:03):
That's why I'm upset, because my brain is doing what
my brain does, and it's playing through Rob Zombie Kids
Bop versions, and and I'm like, why, I don't want
to think this way, thank you for making me do this.
Speaker 1 (01:23:14):
I'm thinking of the other bands in that folder that
could have gotten a lot darker if kids Bop had
to sing them. So yeah, filter Moop is wild. We
now go to homeschool pug Fest. So homeschool. Last time
we had homeschool Fest, it was really good. I do
remember that. So homeschool Fest. Number one, we already had
orgasm sorry, kill switsch Engauge like it.
Speaker 4 (01:23:37):
It's so fun, all right, saw it.
Speaker 1 (01:23:39):
Number two we got in Flames. They're there, they fit,
they fit together. That's a good fit. Number three psycho
Stick Okay, this is fun at this point. Psycho Stick,
kill Switch engage in Flames. This is fun. Homeschool Fest
sounds fun. And number four in this moment, there's no
(01:24:00):
way homeschool moms are going to book in this moment.
But you know what, I'm going homeschool. That sounds good
to me, Alex.
Speaker 3 (01:24:08):
Oh, yeah, I'm there, that's fine.
Speaker 1 (01:24:10):
Yeah. Also, I do like the idea of psychosticking in
this moment on the same stage.
Speaker 5 (01:24:14):
I don't know why I'm thinking of Psychostick doing kids
pop stuff now, like you've ruined me.
Speaker 1 (01:24:19):
Oh they would do that too, Psychostick would actually volunteer
for that. But like absolutely, I haven't sing the sing
the beer song, but it's root beer. We don't care,
just do it. I can only count to four already,
sounds like it could be saying by kids, so it's perfect.
Speaker 3 (01:24:36):
So that one actually.
Speaker 1 (01:24:38):
Yeah, but little kids. It just makes the kids sound dumb.
That's perfect. I love it. Three k kids like okay,
you learn.
Speaker 4 (01:24:46):
I just imagine like an army of children trying to mind.
Speaker 1 (01:24:50):
Yeah, and it's like a big ball pit, also like
the balls at Chuck e Cheese. But it's at the concert.
Oh my god, Yeah, I'm going to I'm going to home,
scho This all fits together, this long works too well
not to happen. Yeah, we get all the yeses. Awesome.
And finally Sackerfest again, I apologize, I'm not pronouncing it.
Prooperaly number one aven sevenfold his voice got better, and
(01:25:16):
just for sacre Fest he's coming back, so avenged number
two The Cure, Okay, this is a big budget for
this festival, this radio station festival, even sevenfold. The cure
suicidal tendencies. We're all over the place, but that's okay.
(01:25:36):
And number four Guns n' Roses, but they are forty
five minutes late, so we add another band. So not
only does this whole Festiva get huge, it gets a
little bigger because Axel was late band number five for
Sakre fest Stone Temple Pilots. He's the wise know what
(01:26:00):
kind of budget you're working with, but it's a lot.
I'm going this is massive. Yeah, this is this cannot Yeah,
I'm going to the whole structure and infrastructure of this
little small town radio SA is gonna collapse in one day.
But yeah, we have to go. This is huge.
Speaker 5 (01:26:15):
So this is a good one. I like this one.
It's like legacy and awesome.
Speaker 1 (01:26:20):
Yes, yeah, it covers a lot of ground and variety
and sound. Evenge is still like still new enough. But
then you have the cure. Then you have Stone Temple
Pilots and guns and roses. Yeah, good stuff. I'm gonna
say that's a yes. I see a lots of yes's
definitely come on.
Speaker 8 (01:26:39):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:26:43):
You can thank my witch powers for the budget. Oh
that's from Sacre. Oh okay, then thank you, thank you.
Speaker 4 (01:26:50):
Thank you. I brought those witch powers.
Speaker 1 (01:26:54):
Did you did you use your witsch powers to have
the kids pop would come up? Because it worked out
pretty well for me. Thank you guys for hanging out
with us as we book festivals and have a little
fun with this as I go back here, this s
it's no, I have way too many screens. Everyone's dizzy.
(01:27:14):
Now I get what's going on there. We go see,
I just like shuffle through like all these obs windows
and things like that. Again, the poll is open, our
live pole for pretty hate Machine versus the fragile decisive
seventy nine percent towards pretty hate Machine.
Speaker 4 (01:27:33):
Oh wow.
Speaker 1 (01:27:34):
I do wonder what the live poles are the actual
I wonder what the main channel post is going to be.
If it reflects something like this, I get it, but
I was not expecting that one sided. So I hope
we get a good turnout. Thank you guys so much
for hanging out with us on this Wednesday. Sorry I Glinda,
I was late. I was petting Ivan. He's over there,
passed out like a good dog. Also, my wife was
(01:27:55):
in chat laughing about simple Plan popping up. She just
thinks that's so hilarious that simple plan popped up in
my folder.
Speaker 2 (01:28:03):
Ha ha.
Speaker 1 (01:28:05):
Let me go back and stop sharing everything. Bam, bam,
where'd you go? Boom? Alex anything he would like to
close with before we wrap it up.
Speaker 3 (01:28:17):
No, I think we're good.
Speaker 1 (01:28:18):
Row and hell about you.
Speaker 4 (01:28:21):
Uh just fun fact check.
Speaker 6 (01:28:22):
I got kicked in the head last night at a
Death Course show and it was awesome, So.
Speaker 1 (01:28:26):
Yeah, we're both nice shirt.
Speaker 4 (01:28:28):
By the way, thank you. Yes it's fairly legible.
Speaker 1 (01:28:34):
I read it.
Speaker 4 (01:28:34):
That's the way I like it.
Speaker 1 (01:28:35):
Yes, he had the shirt like give us a pillow
at the venue when he needed to rest his kicked
in head. Here. Just take this, kid, just take this.
Thank you all so much for.
Speaker 4 (01:28:47):
Careful with the swing kickers.
Speaker 6 (01:28:49):
You know.
Speaker 1 (01:28:50):
Yeah that's true.
Speaker 4 (01:28:52):
Apparently people who go to Death Course shows no karate.
Speaker 6 (01:28:55):
So dude, there were actual Alex I was telling Luke this,
there were people having actual MMA fights on the stage
like so like.
Speaker 4 (01:29:03):
So we get tackled and they like put the.
Speaker 6 (01:29:04):
Other guy into a grapple and just start punching the
back of their head.
Speaker 4 (01:29:09):
It was crazy.
Speaker 1 (01:29:10):
Yeah, rock and all.
Speaker 5 (01:29:11):
All right, guys, wing kikes are a definite thing you
need to watch out for.
Speaker 3 (01:29:16):
I'll tell you guys a story about that one time.
Speaker 1 (01:29:18):
Okay, to be continued for our wild injury stories for concerts.
Thank you all so much for tuning in. I will
have a video up next week a list video. Thank
you guys. If you're on Patreon, you have my how
did I miss this? For four albums to talk about
Night in Nails, talk about dying wish, I even talk
about presidents and that new EP spoiler.
Speaker 4 (01:29:39):
Oh eh, I freaking hate it. I hate it so much.
Speaker 1 (01:29:45):
It's not Worse of the Year material for everyone. It's
just it's there, it exists.
Speaker 4 (01:29:49):
I just hate what it represents.
Speaker 1 (01:29:51):
Yeah, well, I don't know.
Speaker 3 (01:29:52):
I gave up after the second thing we heard of it.
Speaker 1 (01:29:55):
I'm like, this is okay, now you're not You're not
missing anything. I think, can it exist? Agree with that?
You're not missing anything? So it's only I would It's
only six songs too, so.
Speaker 6 (01:30:09):
It released like they released like pretty much nearly all
of them before they it was like even this, this
is basically a compilation.
Speaker 1 (01:30:16):
Yeah, the EP so well, Alex, It's time after a
odd podcast where we talk about the finances of Live Nation,
a multi billion dollar corporation. We're gonna end with a
ha ha, what dad joke do you have for us?
This week?
Speaker 5 (01:30:32):
It's officially spooky season, so you know, favorite month. Everything's
going to be a little spooky from here on out. So, okay,
as we're preparing for our Halloween parties, why should you
always invite a ghost to your Halloween.
Speaker 4 (01:30:44):
Party because then you'll have no body to go with.
Speaker 3 (01:30:50):
Now, because they bring all the booze.
Speaker 1 (01:30:56):
It got both of us a smile, It did, it did? Yeah,
I was not I was not expecting that either. You
subverted our expectations because I was thinking like boo as
something else too is like, you know what? That was clever? Yeah,
Rowan begrudgingly approved of that one. You could tell he
didn't want to, you know, he did, So that's a
(01:31:17):
double priper. Alex.
Speaker 6 (01:31:18):
Well, you look, you have sabotageing for our side for
the last couple of weeks, now, you know me?
Speaker 1 (01:31:26):
Yeah, I don't know about that. We can look at
the footage.
Speaker 3 (01:31:33):
This is this is all this podcast is about unity
and bringing us together, and it's all good.
Speaker 1 (01:31:41):
Someone's throwing pineapples. That's gotta hurt. Also, one person I
need really thought that was funny. So you know what
you're getting, like actual reactions, not just someone throwing ghosts.
I don't even know how to do that. I have
Oh yeah, my wife has a gold wine glass that
says here for the booze and it's b o s. Yeah,
(01:32:03):
so we all got what kind of bar is this?
Speaker 4 (01:32:13):
It was awesome. Here's a rubbin coke.
Speaker 1 (01:32:15):
Boom bam hi ball. Yeah. Everyone buy as many cars
as you can for lou cards. Oh birthday. Yeah that
took me a second of my cars. What what? Okay,
you don't have to buy any cars.
Speaker 4 (01:32:30):
Everyone go to your local CBS.
Speaker 1 (01:32:32):
Ooh yeah, I don't have a po box. Unfortunately, I'd
be terrified of the stuff people send me in a
po box. No, thank you, not me. Thank you all
for hanging out. We will see you next week, hopefully
with positivity, fun times, and not having to go through
balance and shareholder sheets to prove the shenanigans of Live Nation.
Speaker 7 (01:32:54):
Bye everybody, sp
Speaker 4 (01:33:19):
Spring
