Failling in for Jim Richards on theShowgram. It's John Pole on News Talk

for your retirement? That story comingup, and I'll tell you who I'm
gonna apologize to famous celebrity. Iknow for a fact he's in our listening
(00:31):
area. Well that on the wayit is jump pull in for Jim Richards
on the Show Gram. A veryI guess wet Friday. We're gonna bring
this one home though, telling youbetween one and four. I told Donnie,
I told Andre this show is goingto be a ten out of ten.
We had a pep talk before, like you know how they do the
Walmart cheer every morning at Walmart andeveryone gets excited and cheers. We had
(00:54):
a show cheer prior to getting inhere, and I feel we're going to
be able to bring this in tenout of ten. I'll let you score
at home. You can, ofcourse, communicate with us, Thank you,
thank you. I'll be here allday. I'll be here all day,
seven ten ten on text you wantto score us as we're going along,
seven ten ten. Also, thephone lines are now open four one,
(01:15):
six, eight seven two ten tenstar Talk on Sell. That's star
eight two five five so rock star, movie star, all around talented individual.
If you are not aware, inthe listening area of the Great News
Talk ten ten right now is theone and only Weird Al Yankovic. Weird
(01:36):
Al Yankovic has a couple of showsin and around the GTA. This weekend,
he'll be doing Hamilton and Casino Rama. The guy's a genius, the
guys flawless as a musician, greatentertainer, and he can poka like no
one else us. I'm a littlebaby perfection. When he does a music
(02:07):
video, it's to the tea ofthe original parody, possibly the richest man
in parody. I think that's probablyaccurate. But Weird Al Yankovic is playing
these couple of shows. We knowhe's within our resources. And when I
came in today, I looked atDonnie and I said, Donnie, today
you are going to pull on yourproducer pants and you are going to produce
(02:30):
like you've never produced before. Youhave to get Weird Al Yankovic on the
showgram before four o'clock. I don'tcare who we have to talk to.
I don't care what division of BellMedia. We need to go to We
need weird Al Yankovic on this programbefore four, mainly because I need to
(02:51):
apologize to him. The last timeweird Al and I were together, it
didn't go so well, and Ifeel I owe an apology. So I
don't care if we got to godown the hall to Chum FM and get
Roger and Marilynd to call in alltheir favors, talk to the music director,
have him use all of his connectionsin the music industry. I don't
(03:14):
care if we have to go downto Etalk and get Ben mulrooney to call
in every favor in the history ofCanadian favors. We need to use the
full power of Bell Media to getweird Al Yankovic on the program. He's
in the listening area. We justgot to do it because I feel I
need to apologize this show. IfI've learned anything from listening to Jim Richards
(03:36):
over the years on the Mighty Shrogram, it's this. This show can be
used for good. This show canbe used to help make a difference,
to help connect people and maybe learnsomething at the same time. And I
think apologizing when you've done wrong isa powerful attribute. As a grownup,
and I would like to apologize toweird Al Yankovic for what happened to us
(04:00):
a few years ago. He mightnot even remember, but it's one of
those things I wake up every dayand I think about I should have done
it differently, I really do.Guys are genius genius. Listen to this.
Tell me broke up for my handside. Help me no soul,
this out help me the only thingthat works for me. Help me get
(04:25):
myself. I wanna you like ananimal genius. I'm seeing Weird Alan concert.
If you're going to Hamilton Orf,you're going to Cassina Rama, strap
yourself in. He is going toblow your mind. He's such a perfectionist.
He nails everything musically, lyrically.Pure genius, pure genius. So
Donnie will produce like he's never producedbefore. He is tracking down weird Al
(04:48):
Yankovic. Maybe we have to contactthe Bell Phone Division and somehow cut in
on his phone calls to get himon the show. We have the biggest
Canadian empire in media and telecommunications ather disposal. Let's use all of it
today and see what we can getweird Al to call in. Weird Al
(05:10):
mister Weird al four one six, eight, seven two ten ten start talk
on seal text us Weird al seventen ten Coming up after one thirty,
We'll tell you about a BC family. They're upset because their cat is repeatedly
found shaved. Jojo, the catowner will call in and tell us why
she does not like her putty catshaved. There's just you know what,
(05:32):
there's no way we're gonna be ableto do this topic. Someone is shaving
her cat when her cat goes outside. Is it her fault? Or is
someone being cruel to her cat?She will join us after one thirty,
But first, how much money doyou have in your home right now?
I'm gonna guess probably the average ismaybe around one thousand bucks something like that.
(05:56):
Like I always keep a little bitof cash in my safe at home
because you never know, zombies, you know, world ends, everything goes
down and you need some cash,so I keep a little bit there.
I think the average might be,you know, round one thousand bucks or
something. But I definitely don't havecash in my mattress that I'm saving as
quote unquote my retirement savings. No, I put it in the bank.
(06:19):
I put it with an investment guyfinancial planner. Here's the story. This
from the nation's capital in Ottawa.A convicted drug dealer sentenced to twelve years
in prison for all his drug dealery. His mom and dad who had a
son that was a drug dealer, when they raided the home because he was
(06:44):
such a successful drug dealer he livedwith mom and done. When they rate
it the home, they found justshy have forty grand in cash in a
comforter in the bedroom closet. Sothe cops found forty grand while they were
raiding the home because of a drugright. They find forty grand in what
is basically a drug dealer's home.Mom and dad'll have argued that it was
(07:05):
in fact savings. It was theirsavings. The father says he gave his
wife money weekly or monthly over thelast thirty three years since they moved from
Lebanon to Canada, and she usedthe money for groceries or other necessities and
saving as much as she possibly couldin her bedroom. That's what they said.
(07:28):
The crown argued, no, theforty grand has to be from your
drug dealer's son, who's drug trafficking, trafficking because no one keeps forty grand
in their house. Who do youside with? Do you think? Do
you think it's possible they're just savingthe money and they happen to have a
drug dealer son? Do you sidewith them? Four win six eight seven
(07:49):
two ten ten Star talk on Sellseven ten ten via text or the judge
says you know, uh or sorry? The Crown says no, no,
no, that's drug mane. Sodo you think it's savings or do you
think it's actually drug money? What'syour best guess based on your life?
How much money you have in yourpillow or you're a comforter or your mattress
(08:09):
or in your closet drug money orjust good old mom and dad saving up?
Four one, six, eight seventwo ten ten Star talk on Sell
That Star eight two five five ortext us at seven ten ten. I'll
tell you what the judge had tosay. Coming up show Grammy, it's
John pull In for Jim Richards.I'll tell you what I say the judge
(08:30):
in this case, here's what hewas to present it with. Mom and
dad say the forty grand, itwas ours, we were saving it.
The Crown says, no, yourson's a convicted drug dealer that's drug money.
The judge returned the cash to momand dad, saying, look,
it's possible for someone to live modestlyand slowly put away a bit of money
(08:52):
over the course so many years.I say, that is crap. I'm
sorry. I don't want to paintevery drug dealing family with the same brush.
But everyone I know doesn't squirrel awaymoney into their comforter to the tune
of forty grand. Yeah, maybetwelve hundred and fifteen hundred bucks here or
(09:13):
there, but no one's putting fortygrand in a comforter and then claiming that
it's for my retirement. Now,this is Canada. We have systems and
banks and financial planners. No onefeels that their comforter is the best place
for money anymore. If it wasnineteen fifty two, maybe, but it's
(09:35):
twenty fifteen. That's drug money. And by giving it back that means they're
taking forty grand that we the taxpayers, could have used for some of our
own awesomeness. I don't know, better, police services, roads, books
for kids in school, whatever theydo with all that money giving it back,
there's just no I am not buyingone minute that that is not drug
(10:00):
money. I am sorry. MaybeI've seen too many TV shows. Maybe
I don't put enough money in mypillows. Forty Grand's a lot of money
just to have some random cash around. And I think it's way too convenient
when your son happens to be aconvicted drug dealer. Hum. I mean,
we've all heard the old the storiesof the older people that have it
in their mattress they pass away.Mike Buller told us that just before the
(10:24):
news, maybe an older person thatlives alone. Yeah, maybe family with
a drug dealer call me, Jaden, call me watching too much TV.
I'm not buying it, the judgesaid, But it's possible, so I'll
give the money back. Come on, that's that forty grand. That forty
grand is all about our money. Why would we give it back? Jim
(10:48):
and Hamilton, Home of the WeirdAl Yankovic Show Tonight. You think the
money is legal or not legal? How much you got in your your sofa
or your pillow cushions. Well,I don't necessarily want to go there,
but you're right, this is Canadaand we do have rule of law.
Now, I agree, more thanlikely it probably is drug money, but
you have to prove that you can'tjust assume, and you can't convict or
(11:11):
confiscate on an assumption. That's whyCanada is so great, because we are
ruled by a set of laws.Yeah, I get that, but are
we not able to put two andtwo together at the same time. No,
because if you make an assumption, now, you set a precedence,
and in the future it could beyou in a different situation in which this
(11:37):
presidence is already set, and thenthe whole system falls down. And that's
why I agree with the judge, because based upon the rule of law,
you can't just assume. Let's assumeevery politician is a crook. Do we
throw them all in jail just becausewe assume that? Yeah, I think
there's a difference. Though they foundforty grand in a house that a convicted
(11:58):
drug dealer lived in. I getwhat you're saying. However, the judge
did say, look, it's fiftyto fifty here, I could go either
way, and he sided with momand dad. That being said, that
doesn't mean we have to accept. It doesn't mean every ruling is right.
It doesn't mean that that forty grandshouldn't go back into the coffers because the
reality is let's be honest. Momand dad also happen to have a drug
(12:20):
dealer living in their house, somaybe they need to feel a little bit
of pain as well. Mike, you think the money should be left with
mom and dad or do you thinkthe judge should have taken it away?
I think the judge should have takenthe money away. I mean, if
you have a son who's a convicteddrug dealer, wouldn't you think that there's
a good chance you might steal yourmoney. You wouldn't want to keep it
in your house. You'd want tohave it invested or something. And shouldn't
(12:45):
they I mean maybe I'm watching toomuch TV, but shouldn't they been able
to test any of the bills forany kind of resident. If there's even
one speck of something, then it'sgone. Well. Look, I like
that you're going CSI on that, and I am not. Certainly, That's
not my forte of knowing, ButI'm with you. Here's the thing.
I get that some people keep moneyin their house, but forty grand,
(13:05):
Like if we were talking about fivegrand, it wouldn't be a big deal.
Six grand wouldn't be a big deal. But I guess I draw the
line at forty grand a convicted drugdealer living in the house. I just
don't believe the average mom and dadthat have a child living with them have
forty grand stalked away in a comforterin a closet. I think in twenty
fifteen people are more responsible than that. Yeah, again, maybe a little
(13:28):
bit here and there, but I'msorry, I'm painting this with the drug
dealer brush. Call me crazy,Carla, you want to go see USI
on the bills too, Absolutely,I think they should look at the bills.
Are they the polymer bills or arethey old school the ones we have
to have thirty years ago. Thatwould give some indication as to if the
(13:48):
parents were saving that for that longamount of time. Mm hmm. I
like how we're I like how we'reall playing radio detectives here. We've all
got the solution. The guy thatthe dad said, look, here's the
deal. He works in the pastryindustry. I assume he doesn't own vashon.
I assume he maybe works in abakery. He says he gave his
(14:09):
wife money weekly or monthly over thelast thirty three years. Like that's I
don't know, given his wife astepends seems a little bit archaic in itself,
but he gives a little bit ofmoney. She used some for groceries,
she used some for necessities, andshe tucked away the rest in their
bedroom, and that came to fortygrand. The cops come in, they
bust their son for being a drugdealer. They find the forty grand.
(14:30):
I say, I don't buy thestory. I'm sorry, I just don't.
I'm not buying it, not today, not tomorrow. Rudy, what
do you think about the parents?Rudy? Oh? Sorry, Trish,
what do you think about the parents? Hi? Well, I agree with
the first gentleman who said that unlessyou could prove it, I think you
have to leave the money with theparents. I mean, do the parents
(14:54):
here? We are paying cso dothe parents have other savings in a bank
account? Fair question? I thinkthough, that would you have forty thousand
dollars in your house if your sonwas a drug dealer? Well? Well,
where did they find the money?Did they find it in his room?
They found it in a closet ina comforter, right, in a
closet in his room. I don'tknow that information, right, So let's
(15:16):
pretend it's in a closet. Linencloset, right, I would say,
unless you can actually prove it,and maybe you do test the bills or
look at the bills to see ifthey're old. I think you have to
leave it with the parents unless youcan prove it. Yeah, it's a
bit far fetched, but yeah, are your kids drug dealers? No?
Do you have forty thousand dollars inyour house? Not that I know of,
(15:37):
but I can tell you. Youknow, we throw all our change
in a big bucket and it doesn'ttake long to add up to forty grand.
It might trish, I'm coming toyour house. You're going to tim
Hortons every day. Holy Moses.I like where this is going. Rudy,
where are you on this? Areyou with? The parents should get
the cash back? Or the crownshould keep the money. My name is
(15:58):
Rudy. Ye are you talking tome? I am Rudy. Okay,
I got a anyways, Okay,I sort of agree that it should be
the parents, and I have afamily history to back it up. Yeah,
Okay, tell us your story. My dad was old school, he
took very little in the bank, and when he passed away, we all
got five thousand dollars in cash, and that was nothing but a small portion
(16:23):
in his safe in the basement. All right, And how long ago was
that? Because we're in twenty fifteen, how long ago is that you're talking
in nineteen ninety Okay, so ninetyso your dad was, you know,
part of the old generation. Thisis twenty twenty fifteen. Play mom put
everything in the bank, so it'shis Yeah, So do you keep that
much money in your house? Idon't know. I don't don't. I
(16:45):
agree with my mom. I putit all in the bank. Yeah.
Again, I think that's where mostpeople go. Especially Look, I've never
had my oldest son's eleven. I'mpretty confident to say he's not a drug
dealer. But if my son wasa drug dealer, tell you what I
wouldn't have in the house my fortygrand in savings. Seriously, if you
(17:06):
can't trust your kids, you're notgonna have the money around. You're not
gonna leave your car keys around. You're probably gonna kick them out of the
house. I would think I wouldhope. I think, you know,
again, I get that the judgehad to make a decision. I think
we should have kept the money.I really do. I think giving it
back to the parents. That isThat is the drug money Ottawa. That's
what it is. One twenty five. How are we doing with weird Al?
(17:29):
Has he called in yet? WeirdAl? Someone get weird Al.
If you see weird Al, surebus have him call in. I need
to apologize. We'll tell you aboutthe woman and her cat being shaved,
I said, Kat straight ahead,Kanye West? Why is everyone talking about
Kanye West? Weird Al is inour midst. I saw him backstage and
I need to apologize. We're lookingfor weird Al. If you see him,
(17:52):
tell him to call in depth radioNews Talk ten ten. Strange things
are happening in small towns. We'llexplain next off, but the showgram must
go on. Here's special guest hostJohn Poll on News Talk ten ten.
We'll tell you about strange things goingon in small towns in a moment.
We are still looking for weird Al. I understand we have contacted his people
(18:18):
or some of his people. They'reputting those people in touch with other people
who are actually with weird Al,and they're going to talk to him and
see if a call. We're allwaiting to see. Can they get weird
el a call. Weird now playingin Hamilton and at Casino Rama this weekend.
I saw him at a concert backstageand we have an exchange, and
(18:41):
I feel I need to apologize. So I hope that if he has the
time, he can call in andI can apologize to him directly. I'll
tell you when went down a littlebit if weird Al doesn't call in.
But I feel we have the powerof Bell Media behind us. I haven't
got like official authorization to use thefull strength of Bell Media. I just
am, you know, sort ofhoping that you know that weight comes down.
(19:02):
And as weird Al's people talk tohis other people, they stress how
important it is for him to beon the showgram how it could possibly change
his career. I don't know ifthat's true. We'll find out. We're
waiting for weird Al to call in. Hopefully that will take place before the
end of the program. It isa John pull in for Jim Richards coming
up after two o'clock. The VeldMusic Festival is coming back to town.
(19:26):
It will be taking place at DownsviewPark in August. Last year, you
may recall there were two drug overdoorwith deaths at the festival and a bunch
of kids sent to hospital. It'sone of those, you know, rave
kind of parties where they play theelectronic dance music. It's one of those.
We're going to talk about these drugtesting kits that they have. A
(19:49):
music festival out east tried to offerdrug testing kits, not to test the
kids to see if they're taking drugs, but kits that thekids could use to
test the drugs themselves to see ifthey were safe or not. The insurance
company said, we want no partof this. You're basically endorsing drug use,
so that festival out east may infact just be canceled. Meanwhile,
(20:14):
we'll tell you what's happening with theVeld music festival. Are they using the
drug testing kids, how do theywork? And do you think that means
we're endorsing drug use? We tryand keep everyone else safe with every other
event kids go to. Maybe weshould have them have drug testing kids.
That coming up after two o'clock. But first, small towns have some interesting
ways of solving problems. You mayhave heard the story out of Lindsay,
(20:37):
Ontario, happened earlier this week.A woman woke up to find two naked
people inner hot tub, jumped inor hot tub, and by the time
the police arrived, the police hadfound out that all the parties involved had
already negotiated a settlement, so therewere going to be no charges pressed.
The settlement for swimming nude in someoneelse's hot tub, the perpetrator agreed to
(21:00):
bake her some banana bread, andeverything was right in the world. They
solved the problem by talking it outand making some mm delicious banana bread.
Is there anything banana bread can't solve? Obviously not. That was in Lindsay.
Meanwhile, out in Campbell River, they're having a problem in Campbell River
with a cat. A family isupset because the cat is repeatedly being found
(21:25):
shaved, goes out, it comesback, it's being shaved. The first
text that came through we said wewere going to keep it on the up
and up. I just want topoint out the first text that came through
at seven ten ten is the catBrazilian. We're supposed to be keeping it
above board, folks seven ten ten, four one six eight seven two ten
(21:45):
ten or star talk on sel.I want you to react to what the
cat owner has to say. Doyou agree with the cat owner or is
it the cat owner's responsibility to keepthe cat inside. I'll share my point
of view in a moment, butfirst let's welcome Jojo Yar Joe to the
program. Jojo tell us the storyabout your cat. What's the cat's name?
Hi? The cat's name is Tabby? All right, So you have
(22:07):
Tabby? Is Tabby a young cator an old cat? She's twelve years
old? She's twelve years old.And you send Tabby outside and when she
comes back, what's been happening. She's been outside like all twelve years and
it's just happened recently, since likeJanuary. What's happened? It's happened since
(22:27):
it's happened five times she's come homeand she's been shaved on her belly.
It's been it's a square on belly. The first time it was on like
the base of her tail, andit's moved a little bit like the last
time. It was under her legsas well, and there's a there's cut
(22:47):
marks on her on her belly aswell, So she's not completely shaved.
She's just got like some sort ofmarking that they've made on the cat.
Yes, it's a fall, it'sher full under belly and it's all squared
out. And how many times hasthis happened? It happened about five times,
I think. And do you feelmaybe those people are trying to send
(23:10):
you a message? Is there apossibility maybe Tabby is doing something to someone's
property and they're trying to nicely sendyou a message. I think that's a
possibility. I think it's unlikely.I think it would be a little better
decision to since, like all thepeople that live in my neighborhood have lived
(23:32):
here just as long as we have'velived here around like thirty years, and
they're all familiar with my cat.You think that they'd come to us first.
Yeah, So Tabby's come back fivetimes with different shaving markings. Are
they always the same or they sometimesdifferent? A little different every time?
(23:53):
And what like it's at the baseof her tail, sometimes under her legs.
All right, question I'm going tothrow out here is are you responsible
for letting the cat outside? Orare these people being cruel to your animal?
Four one six eight, seven twoten ten star talk on sell that's
star eight two five five or youcan text us at seven ten ten Jojo.
(24:15):
Let me ask you this, howmuch time does Tabby spend outside?
Is it just like a short periodof time or is it all day all
the time? I would say aboutfour hours four hours, yeah. And
is anyone else's cat in the neighborhoodbeing shaven? Yes? A few other
cats actually, So there actually isa serial shaver going on. What if
(24:37):
the police in Campbell River said aboutthis, because I would imagine this is
big news in Campbell River. Wehaven't got the police involved yet because we
haven't. There hasn't been any personto point the fingers at mm hm yet.
So how how did this end upon TV? I want to get
to that in a moment, butfirst, it's one forty five Cottage Country
(24:59):
tra Traffic is brought to you byyour Ontario Subaru dealers test drive the superior
performance of a twenty fifteen Subaru today. I sense art Bell is going to
be very popular here on news Talkten ten, texts seven ten. A
lot of people suggesting maybe Tabby hasbeen seeing strange lights, maybe there's aliens
involved. Maybe we're asking the questionJojo, the owner of Tabby the cat
(25:22):
has been returning home shaved in CampbellRiver, BC. The question I have
for you, Jojo is How didthe story end up on CTV News.
It actually started I made a postabout it on Facebook, and then people
like on group pages, and peoplewere suggesting I contact the newspaper about it,
(25:45):
and I contacted the newspaper and theydid a big story about it,
and it was the talk of thetown. And then CTV News got a
hold of it, and they gotahold of it quick and then they did
an interview with me. All right, so Tabby, now, now are
you keeping Tabby inside or are youstill letting Tabby go outside? We have
(26:06):
changed her routine. Usually she beforeshe would be outside for a couple of
hours, come inside and like duringthe daytime, but now she's only allowed
outside during the night for a fewhours. Since it's been happening like during
the daytime, okay, And hassince she's been going out at night any
problems or is Tabby okay? Wehaven't had any problems recently. Well,
(26:30):
maybe the perpetrator saw the coverage inthe media and has learned better. Jojo,
I hope the best for you andTabby. Thanks for joining us on
the showgram today. I thank you, all right. The question is who's
responsible here? The person that's settrying to send a message. Now,
you know, Jojo gave us apiece of the story that we had not
seen before, which is other catsand animals in the neighborhood have experienced the
(26:51):
same Who's responsible the person that letstheir cat out loose? Or is the
guy sending the message or gal sendingthe message? Okay with what they're doing,
because that cat should be inside.I think the cat should be inside.
If you don't want something bad tohappen to your property or your cat
beloved family member, you don't putthem in harm's way. Four one,
(27:11):
six, eight, seven two tenten star talk on sell that's start eight
two five five, or of courseyou can text us at seven ten ten
Chris, what do you think cat? Cat should be indoors? Or cat
should be taken care of or it'sfree to roam outside? What do you
say? Personally? I think there'san easy answer. Keep the cat indoors,
you know, regardless of what theseother people are doing and what their
(27:33):
motivations may be, there's an easyanswer. If you keep your cat,
your domesticated cat, indoors, youwill not subject him to this Traumi.
So why the heck are we evenhaving this conversation with this person. This
is so ridiculous, the fact thatthis cat is allowed to room free and
she's complaining that it's being shaped andabused. It's to me, it's it's
it's unbelievable. It's like, hey, there's an easy answer. If you
(27:55):
don't lost a cat room free,it won't have this happen to it.
II you're keep a cat indoors.People love their animals, they love their
dogs, they love their cats.Case from Campbell River, BC, where
they let their cat outside. Tabby, who's like a twelve thirteen year old
cat, goes outside and gets shaved. Someone actually shaves a square in it
numerous times, five times. Youwould think maybe the owners would get the
(28:15):
message to keep Tabby inside. Animalcruelty or responsible pet owner. Who's to
blame here? I forgot to askJojoe, and I wish I would have
because in the news story that wason CTV, her mother actually felt it
was a two man job because that'sthe only way you could hold down a
cat, which you know, givinga cat a quick buzz would not be
(28:36):
an easy task. Four one, six, eight, seven, two ten
ten star talk on sell that starteight two five to five. The question
who's responsible here? Animal cruelty oris it a case of a bad pet
owner? Marco, what do youhave to say? I think it's animal
cruelty. Your last caller mentioned thatyou should keep your domesticated cat inside.
Well, do you keep your domesticateddog inside? No, once in a
(28:59):
while the cat out. This personis doing it to multiple cats. So
what I suggest is put a GPSunit on the collar of the cat and
just monitor the cat and where itstands. Bill, give it enough time
and you'll find who it is.GPS on the cat seems to be probably
the easiest way to make sure thecat's okay, because then at least you
know where the cat has been travelingto. And again, if you want
(29:22):
to find the person that's doing this, it's easy. I have to think
that perhaps maybe they're missing something.Maybe there's like some barbed wire somewhere and
the cat's just sneaking through and gettingcaught. Although she did say it was
almost like a perfect square four onesix, eight, seven two ten star
talk on sell that start eight twofive five. Patrick, you're blaming the
owner. I'm with you, bythe way, No, no, I'm
(29:44):
not blaming the owner. What I'msaying is is that you can't say to
somebody you need to keep your youranimal inside so that so that it's not
abused by some deviant, that it'sthe fault of the owner, that there's
somebody out there you know that that'sabusing animals, and that you're exposing them
to it by letting them out ofthe house. Do you know, do
you keep your kids inside because youknow something might happen to them, don't
let them go to school because there'sbullies. No, but if it came
(30:07):
back with their head shaved, Iwouldn't keep sending them back out. Okay,
well yeah, it's it's if youknow that something's happening to your to
your animal. Yeah, you know, it might be a heads up to
you know, keep an eye onthem, or might be. But but
but don't don't say that you knowlike that, you know that like the
previous call of that, you knowthat just completely dismisses that you know out
(30:27):
there is somebody who's abusing animals, because you know, he puts it on
the fault of the of the theowner of the animal for allowing it to
be outside. I mean I've hadI've had the pets in my life.
I've had cats that were outdoor cats. You know, they came home at
night to be fed, and youknow, they bugged me to get back
out of the house, you know, and they'd get in scraps with other
cats in the neighborhood and come homewith mixing their ears or whatever. But
(30:48):
you know, it was what itwas, you know, as I was
a young kid myself, and uh, you know, but I mean,
if if it's a human being that'sabusing an animal, that's something that needs
to be looked at by by thepolice. I mean, people who tend
to abuse animals. It doesn't stopthere, usually starts there. Yeah,
I don't disagree with that. Ofcourse, they don't have any proof that
it is a human being or whetherit's kids or you know, a guy
(31:10):
that's upset because the cat is headingover to his garden and doing his business
in his garden or his sandbox.I know a lot of people that aren't
cat lovers don't have much time ortolerance for that. So maybe this is
there crazy way to send a message. I think the solution is to keep
your cat inside. That just seemsso simple. Gabriella you're on the side
of animal cruelty. Oh my god, yeah, completely. I have two
(31:33):
cats, and I was raised withanimals my whole life, and I just
don't agree with the fact that acat is going on someone's on or wherever,
and this person is having the rightto do whatever they're doing to them.
No, So let me ask youthis, as a cat owner,
how many times would you let thecat out or not change your routine?
This happened five times. How manytimes would it take for you to change
(31:57):
your cat's routine? Honest, itwould have happened once. And that's what
happened. That nobody did anything tomy cat. It was another animal that
did something to my cat. Ifhe lost his leg because of that,
and he has knock gone outsights inwell again, I think that's where I'm
sitting is you know, I wouldbe with you. I would protect my
animal. I would you know alot of people's pets are like their kids.
I certainly wouldn't let the cat outfive times. That's why I'm saying
(32:21):
it's the owner's responsibility because they madea bad call and they simply let their
cat go out again and again andagain. Ed's and Burlington he thinks cats
shouldn't be allowed to stroll around otherpeople's property. Ed good day. The
last guy you talked about. Youknow, if your kid came home would
a shaved head, you wouldn't letthem out. I mean that's what somebody's
saying. They're saying, hey, dude, keep your animals off my property,
(32:45):
because I mean I own two cats. They go out in my backyard
there. The backyard is fenced inso the cats can't leave and keep an
eye on them. You know,I don't like it when people's dogs tee
on my grass, whether they're ona leash or not. People have to
learn to be responsible pet owners. That means, if you're gonna have an
animal, it's your animal, don'tinflict it on other people. The same
(33:07):
thing applies to kids, dogs, whatever. Everybody has a right stay where
you're supposed to be, Be courteous, be nice. This is just a
gentle way of somebody in the neighborhoodsaying to this lady, keep your pet
to yourself. Yeah, it tookher a while to get the message,
but I couldn't agree with you.More drugs at raves and EDM concerts.
(33:28):
Should we give the kids kits liketesting kits so they can find out that
their drugs are safe or not. That story straight ahead,
