Speaker 1 (00:26):
Welcome back Fights fans.

Speaker 2 (00:28):
We are back for another episode of The Real End
The Rare. Joining me this evening is b KFC fighter
Eric Lozano.

Speaker 1 (00:36):
Eric, how are we feeling this evening?

Speaker 3 (00:38):
My friend doing great? How about itself?

Speaker 1 (00:43):
Always busy, always doing something here.

Speaker 2 (00:45):
I'm almost on air like four days a week now,
Always having fun.

Speaker 1 (00:50):
Always appreciate times with athletes. Can let lend me their
air for a half hour or more or so now out.

Speaker 2 (01:01):
Obviously lots of a lot going on in the combat
sports world as for always, But I haven't had a
really chance to talk to you about this. A few times.
We've talked about it. You're you're a Cowboys fan, are
you not.

Speaker 3 (01:13):
I am a huge Cowboys fan.

Speaker 2 (01:15):
So obviously I'm an Eagles fan, So I gotta ask you, man, like, how.

Speaker 1 (01:19):
Are you feeling for this season? You think, uh, you
think your your.

Speaker 2 (01:22):
Boys are gonna gonna turn things around. A healthy Dak Prescott. Uh,
you know you added added an actual real number two
receiver Gennings to kind of pair with Ceedee Lamb. You
think you guys are gonna bounce back and uh, We're
gonna have a true heavyweight fight with the Eagles and
Cowboys this year.

Speaker 4 (01:42):
Yeah, I think it's gonna it's gonna come down to
Eagles and Cowboys. We're gonna have some We're gonna have
Washington stepping up. They have a pretty solid squad too.
So NFC Easter is gonna be tough this year, and
I think it's gonna come down to the to the
second game between the Egle and the Cowboys that we
usually split split the season.

Speaker 3 (02:04):
But we'll see how it goes. I mean, I'm excited
for it.

Speaker 4 (02:07):
Like I said that, the nc is going to be tough,
and we have a defense, a decent schedule. I'm not
sure what the EGO schedule looks like, but we have
some tough teams to play this year.

Speaker 1 (02:19):
I mean, we didn't get no favors.

Speaker 2 (02:21):
We do not have a back to back home game
stand at all the season. At also another tough schedule,
you know, obviously for you know, first place schedule, obviously
all those things.

Speaker 1 (02:33):
But I mean I agree with we always split. We
do always split. It's almost been like, you know, one
of the common things.

Speaker 2 (02:43):
I still think everyone's overestimating the Washington Commanders. They are
officially the oldest, the oldest team in the NFL's still
averaging twenty eight years of age, but they are one
of the oldest team and then they just signed von Miller.
Obviously this is not two thousand and fifteen von Miller,

(03:03):
but they they're they're getting older. I think they're going
they're going in the direction. I don't think it's kind
of the way they should.

Speaker 1 (03:13):
They have it.

Speaker 2 (03:13):
They have, they have it just frontal number one receiver,
which he's not happy right now. If he holds out,
that means Deebo Samuel's the number one. We just seen
what happened last year with when Ayuk was at how
he does as a number one receiver. So I think
I still think people are over by in Washington. I

(03:33):
think the sophomore slump's a real thing. You know, obviously
James is going to be a top five quarterback in
this league. I don't think anyone can argue argue that fact.
But a lot of his wins were on last minute dynamics.
I think he had two hail Mary's. That doesn't happen
that often in the NFL. Then you don't get it.

Speaker 1 (03:56):
You get an upgraded schedule, not not the worst schedule.

Speaker 2 (03:59):
I don't thing I think I don't think you're gonna
get three playoff teams out of the NFC East.

Speaker 1 (04:04):
I don't. I still think you're gonna get You're gonna
get at least two of them out of that NFC South.
I do think it's gonna boil down between us and you.

Speaker 2 (04:13):
I do not think that that that the Washington commanders
is going to repeat what they did last year. You
can you know you could sit there and say, I'm
looking at it with the fans lands, I'm looking at
it as a division. I just don't see them doing it.
I think Jaydon Daniels is amazing, amazing talent. I just
don't see them doing that again this year.

Speaker 3 (04:34):
All right, Yeah, I think it will be the Cowboys
and the Egles again.

Speaker 1 (04:41):
How I think your.

Speaker 2 (04:42):
Biggest headache right now is getting Micah Parsons resign and
then Jerry Jones sitting there, you know, waiting. I was
he gonna wait for another pass Rusher to sign. I
have to pay him some more money, right, The only
problem I mean I'm seeing right now.

Speaker 3 (04:57):
Yeah, but Mike is not going anywhere. He's gonna be
a cowboy.

Speaker 2 (05:00):
Yeah, I think you're right. I think he is gonna sign.
But I think it's Jerry does these these weird things.
He likes to sign his guys in the season. For
whatever reason he does that, I don't know. I know,
for whatever reason that's what he does. I mean, Sat Ceedee,
Lamb Dack prep All their contract extensions have come in season.

Speaker 3 (05:21):
All right. I don't agree with everything Jarry does, but I'm.

Speaker 2 (05:28):
We don't always agree with with moves or decisions the
teams make.

Speaker 1 (05:32):
Doesn't gonna make us be any less of a fan.

Speaker 2 (05:34):
But what get the I guess the uh, the the
obvious thing out of the way, and you know, kind
of coke go back into things. Now, big fight coming
up this weekend. Uh, you know, how does a fight
with go for you? Are you flying at tomorrow?

Speaker 4 (05:55):
I'll be trying that Wednesday morning. Then we got weigh
ins on Thursday at noon, and we fight Friday.

Speaker 3 (06:02):
I'm looking forward to two. Welcoming about that.

Speaker 4 (06:12):
Alicia Scara to uh, B KFC, I think.

Speaker 1 (06:22):
I think I gotta love technology.

Speaker 4 (06:32):
Yeah, I don't think he's ready for the for for
the for the He did bare knuckles, but it was
the m m A. He actually took that fight to
the ground. B KFC is different it's a different world.

Speaker 3 (06:45):
I know.

Speaker 4 (06:46):
He we I say, Like for me, I get tired
more in the one round of BKFC than I do
in a five minute round an m m A. It's
just more fast paced. It's that I don't know how
to explain it. Like I when I was welcoming Mike Jones,

(07:07):
same thing. He exhausted himself and I was able to
catch him in the third. I don't see this fight
going past the third. He's he's a heavy hitter and
so am I. And I'm gonna try to push the
pace I've been working on my cardio and that's my
plans to push the pace on him and get him
exhausted so I could pick him apart.

Speaker 2 (07:29):
Yeah, so h for when you were cutting out there,
if people didn't here he you know Eric's gonna be fighting,
uh you know MMA veteran Lasio Sakara is gonna be
his promotional debut as Eric. You were just looking, so
you know he has done fair knockle when I was
an mm A fight.

Speaker 1 (07:49):
And I agree with you. A lot of these, a
lot of the guys that that.

Speaker 2 (07:53):
Are coming over from them a world that have a
name or been in some of the bigger promotions, they
don't always fair so great.

Speaker 1 (08:00):
I mean, you have a very rare occasion where you
can see.

Speaker 2 (08:03):
Some of these guys, you know, put multiple wins together
in their first few fights in there.

Speaker 1 (08:08):
So I still think he's a.

Speaker 2 (08:10):
Guy they're bringing in for when the b KFC goes
back to Italy right at some point in time, and
you know it's gonna be it's gonna be an interesting fight,
it's gonna be a fun matchup. You know, you're gonna
be in my backyard here in Philadelphia at twenty three
hundred three arena where you know, obviously, uh, it's got
some lineage there to you know, being the old e

(08:32):
C W W Arena. How excited are you doing for
for that one to be here in Philadelphia is obviously
a fight down you know, Uh, you know how excited
are for you for at least that aspect of of
of your next fight.

Speaker 4 (08:46):
I'm pretty excited looking forward to going and visiting Philly.

Speaker 3 (08:50):
I've never been out there. I've been in Pennsylvania.

Speaker 4 (08:53):
I think I thought my my third my pro MMA
fight in Allenton, Pennsylvania against I don't know, a very
known guy there in Pennsylvania, Chris pent tattle at the
time and ended up taking a decision win over or
a t K went over him. And that's the only

(09:13):
time I was actually in Pennsylvania there, actually went to Philly.

Speaker 3 (09:16):
But I'm excited to go out there.

Speaker 4 (09:19):
Might might take all my myboy cowboy gear and and represent.

Speaker 2 (09:27):
Well that's just gonna definitely get you booed. But I mean,
you know, it comes with the territory. To listen, you know,
we're always we're always going to have a hate hate
relationship with with with the Cowboys nation. That doesn't mean
ain't nothing wrong with it, just I think it's gonna
be some more fuel for the fire for for you

(09:47):
at the end of day. So I mean, listen, you know,
rock your gear. Man, Ain't no one, ain't no one
really gonna mess with you all like that. So xt
question they have you know, any brains actually know who
you are, to to see what you're doing.

Speaker 1 (10:03):
It should be a fun fight. You know, there's a
lot of stuff to do, you know, in the city
and around that area.

Speaker 2 (10:09):
You know, you know, you know, Pen's Landing is fun.
There's a lot there's a lot of stuff you can
go and you know, check out from the scenes. And
stuff like that. So I think it's hopefully you know,
you're you're able to kind of do all that with
with with the fight going on, but uh, it's uh,
it's it's definitely a cool thing that to have you here.

Speaker 1 (10:30):
In our backyard.

Speaker 2 (10:31):
I hope you're you're you're respectfully received with with with
all all things said there.

Speaker 1 (10:39):
I don't think anything that's to kind of do anything
like that. What great card. Uh.

Speaker 2 (10:47):
I love the matchups on and you know love the
line up that what I've seen were now what this
is the third card that they've done now employee since
the p as a lot of commission as a has
brought looking forward through another fun one. Is there a
fight on it that you're looking forward to outside of your.

Speaker 3 (11:06):
Own No, I haven't really paid attention to the card.

Speaker 4 (11:09):
I'm more focused on what I need to get done
and me coming off a tough loss to Cavender, I
got to go out there and show that that was
a fluke I got caught. It happens in this game
I've done to the other opponents. And it is what
it is you that says fighters we deal with adversity

(11:30):
and and and these are the here's the opportunity to
bounce back against a big name like Alicio Sakara, and
that's what I'm looking to do. Go go shut out Alicio,
hopefully get a KO and put me right back in
the mix of things. I'm not really wanting to fight
at two a five. I walk around around two of eight,
So I'm I took the fight at two five.

Speaker 3 (11:52):
It is what it is.

Speaker 4 (11:54):
But I'm looking forward to going back to one eighty
five after this one and get back in the mix
of h in top ten and and go start banging,
try to get another contention fight or move up in
the top five and go from there.

Speaker 2 (12:13):
Now, obviously you mentioned this one's at at cruiser weight
and at the natural weight players. Have you had discussions
with with BKFC, like, hey, I'm going to do this
style for you, But the next one I wanted eighty.

Speaker 3 (12:24):
Five for sure. Yeah I have.

Speaker 2 (12:27):
But now obviously outside of Alexio, you know, the past
weekend was this past week that, you know, they had
another event, but they also had their champions something where
they announced.

Speaker 1 (12:37):
A whole slew of new signings.

Speaker 2 (12:41):
Who are you intrigued to see seeing get in there?
I mean they brought in Derek Brompson. They brought a
Yo Ramera, Thiago Santos. Who were you excited to potentially
see uh uh get getting matched up and fight in
their debut.

Speaker 3 (12:58):
I'm excited to see all of them.

Speaker 4 (13:00):
I was actually gonna ask for one of them after
a win, so I don't I don't care who it is.

Speaker 3 (13:05):
There are huge names. I I live for those moments
fighting the best.

Speaker 4 (13:10):
My my rosters say that all four champions in BKFC
already think I'm twin two against somewhere. I'm not sure,
but they don't ever give me an easy guy. I
always have a known name that I'm going up against
and and that's why I wouldn't have it any other way.

Speaker 1 (13:29):
You have man like you. I think one of the
things about you is your your your company guy. Throw
through man.

Speaker 2 (13:37):
You don't say no, whoever that, whoever's on the contracts
they slide over across you, don't. You don't say no.
You just signed the contract. You know, figure out a
game plane and move on from there. Now, the reason
I was mentioning the summit, you know that the champions
because they also announced the World Baddest Man Tournament.

Speaker 1 (13:58):
That's something you want to you want to throw your
hat onto where you look.

Speaker 3 (14:02):
Oh, for sure, that's what.

Speaker 1 (14:05):
And uh and trying to make a championship.

Speaker 4 (14:08):
For sure, that's I was talking to my manager and
I was saying, after this fight, I might hold off
on taking on a fight and just try to get
in that tournament and start booking up because the weight
classes from one to eighty five to two sixty five,
So I'm be going to get some beer. I mean,
there's possibility where you could go get some big boys.
So that's that's also in the works.

Speaker 3 (14:29):
We'll see what.

Speaker 4 (14:30):
Happens after this fight. You got to take it one
of the time and go from there.

Speaker 1 (14:35):
Obviously, take care where you have to take care first.

Speaker 2 (14:38):
Was just I want to say, if maybe maybe you
want to throw your hat into that run.

Speaker 3 (14:43):
Well, I would love I would love to be in
that tournament.

Speaker 4 (14:46):
Like I said, I thought the best already B case
BKFC has to offer, starting with Lorenzo Hunt, which I'm
not sure if he's still injured or what the deal
is with him, but he's a tough dude, so and
and I know I could bang with him. He just
another one that he caught me after he was clowning around.

(15:07):
I think I slapped him into a luncheon right. I
backed off thinking and he threw another luncheon right and
caught me. It happens part of the game.

Speaker 1 (15:15):
I thought he was was I don't. I didn't think
it was an injury.

Speaker 2 (15:18):
I thought he was suspended because of uh, you know,
one of his tests coming back.

Speaker 1 (15:23):
I could be wrong.

Speaker 2 (15:24):
I'm not sure he had already ran through his suspension
or whatever, but I thought that's what I thought.

Speaker 4 (15:30):
He was scheduled to fight in Italy or or somewhere
and he wasn't able to fight again. I thought he
was rematching Camosi, and Camosi had somebody else step up
and fight him for the for the belt.

Speaker 2 (15:43):
But you sometimes, you guys are more more in tune
to some of the stuff going on behind the scenes.

Speaker 1 (15:49):
You know, maybe it was an injury. I could be wrong.

Speaker 2 (15:52):
I thought that he was suspension, But like I said,
maybe that was up who you know.

Speaker 1 (15:58):
I could be wrong. Now. B KFC is doing a
lot of things right now.

Speaker 2 (16:02):
I don't know if you've seen it, Like did you
see what they were doing last month with the with
the Ice Wars stuff.

Speaker 3 (16:08):
Yeah, I was supposed to be at the event.

Speaker 4 (16:09):
Unfortunately, there I was in an accident the night before
and I wasn't able to make it. But yeah, they
they said they had a good turnout out there, and
now they're involved with the ice Wars, and I had
a couple of my friends that went out there.

Speaker 3 (16:23):
I was supposed to meet out there. Mohawk was out there.

Speaker 4 (16:26):
Mohawk just had a huge three second knockout and BKFC
last week, So, I mean, there's a lot of things
going on and and and he's one of my one
of my teammates, one of the guys I work with,
and we're we're trying to continue to work together and

(16:46):
be up there in the top five in each division.

Speaker 3 (16:49):
Respectfully.

Speaker 2 (16:52):
I think it's great to see the stuff that not
only b KFC is doing, uh you know with the
banness Man tournament. Uh you know, uh, you know, Feldman
was talking about you guys are gonna have more equity
shares to be able to kind of, you know, uh,
enrich yourself more in that way, which you know is

(17:12):
almost an hurd of in combat sports, KFC Ice Wars.

Speaker 1 (17:17):
I just you know, when I was going through it,
you know, there's gonna.

Speaker 2 (17:19):
Be another tryout in another few days that they're gonna
have there out there in Arizona.

Speaker 1 (17:25):
I think there was another one that they did this
week as well.

Speaker 3 (17:29):
Yeah, there was one in Indiana.

Speaker 4 (17:30):
I was gonna take a couple of guys out there,
but one of them bailed on me and the other
one had any event he couldn't make it, so I
didn't end up going. But I had to do my
own training too, so but I was willing to go
and take the guys out there, but they canceled.

Speaker 3 (17:45):
So it is what it.

Speaker 2 (17:47):
Is exactly that that isn't That's my saying as well,
my friend, it is what it is. You can only
control what what what you can and uh, you know.

Speaker 1 (17:57):
I think it's an exciting time.

Speaker 2 (17:58):
It's it's with Uh, what's what's been going on with BKFC.

Speaker 1 (18:03):
I've been having a lot of conversation with a lot
of different athletes. I think, you know, the UFC used
to be the one and.

Speaker 2 (18:10):
Only place for combat sports for the better part of
ten years. I think over the last three years, BKFC
has done more than bridge that gap.

Speaker 1 (18:19):
I think, you know, personally, I.

Speaker 2 (18:21):
Think they've been kicking the UFC tail as far as
entertainment value, fight value, you know, you know, I think
the UFC has a real problem right now developing stars
and athletes that people are invested in, where the BKFC
has had multiple hand to handfuls of guys and girls

(18:44):
that people are invested with. They want to see when
they're fighting, they want to see their next fight. I
think that's where BKFC has been more of the kicking
their butt. You know, I'm not one of the guys
that care about, you know, how many views, how many
seats are.

Speaker 1 (18:58):
Sold, or anything like that.

Speaker 2 (19:00):
If you have a product that people are willing to
tune into and or invested in, those are those are
customers that are going to continually come back watch your events.
Where As where I think, like I said, I think
the B A KFC has beating the UFC hand over
foot in this area. Would you agree with that?

Speaker 4 (19:17):
No, I agree, I agree with it slightly. I think
UFC is still the number one, the number one.

Speaker 1 (19:25):
But I said, yeah, but that used to be a lot,
a lot, it's.

Speaker 4 (19:31):
Been shortened a lot and b k f C and
then having Econo McGregor jump in as a co owner,
and and we got some other co owners that are are.

Speaker 3 (19:40):
Doing big things. Should be KFC, Like you said, Feldman
just announced that fighters.

Speaker 4 (19:46):
I believe they have ten fights or more. They're gonna
become a part owner. We're gonna get equity into the business.
So I'm more interested in and asking some questions while
I'm out there with the UH with the crew to
see how that works. And yeah, BKFC is closing the gap.
And I mean we have we have quick knockouts. I

(20:10):
mean it's more action packed, you know, where we're not
laying on the ground and trying to go for submissions
or just resting on people laying and praying.

Speaker 3 (20:19):
That's what I called it.

Speaker 4 (20:20):
I always hated doing the resting part aspect of fighting,
but then again as part of the game in MMA,
and and that's why I like b KFC a lot
more because I get to throw my hands in and
that's my strong suit.

Speaker 2 (20:37):
So well, we don't like in MMA is the point
the guys, the guy what you're just talking about, the
guys to go get the points for the takedowns.

Speaker 1 (20:47):
But then they're just calling.

Speaker 2 (20:49):
Away and not really doing anything and just doing that
over and over again where you're they don't want to. Actually,
I'm not even sitting there saying like you need to
stand in the middle of the ring and just up there,
but actually actually fight. Don't just sit there and play
and play the graph and game to get a dance
so you don't.

Speaker 4 (21:08):
Have to get Yeah, I've taken some als and MMA
over people just laying and praying, and it sucks. You
get frustrated. You're there, you're in telling the refs not
doing anything.

Speaker 3 (21:18):
He just holding me. And I grew up in.

Speaker 4 (21:21):
South Texas and graduated in Texas, so I didn't have
wrestling back there, I mean back in the day.

Speaker 3 (21:27):
Now there is right up here in the mid I
moved up here in the Midwest.

Speaker 4 (21:33):
After my first year in college and stayed up here,
ended up getting married, and I learned wrestling as a
as a pro. I didn't even have no wrestling as
an amateur. I went I went pro after one year
of going through everybody here in Michigan and in three
different divisions, and nobody would fight me.

Speaker 3 (21:50):
So I had to go pro.

Speaker 4 (21:50):
In a year in MMA and off the rip, I
started fighting the tops. I got her back down from
a fight, so I learned how to do wrestling in
the pro. So I took some ls and in that process,
but it's fun to me, so I did it for fun.

Speaker 1 (22:09):
Listen.

Speaker 2 (22:10):
You know, you know a lot of guys learning on
the fly, trying to do their best and wanting to
wanted to be involved in combat sports, especially you know,
as they're coming up. So it's uh, you know, you
take your wins with your losses and hopefully you know,
as you continue in here in b k f C,
you know it's not something you really have to worry about,

(22:30):
but you get these fun, exciting matchups that that that
play well within you, right, yes, sir, And you know,
obviously we were talking about the new signings.

Speaker 1 (22:41):
Did you see the news of what happened to you
over there a.

Speaker 3 (22:44):
Few years ago with when he got stabbed or something?

Speaker 2 (22:49):
Yeah, yeah, the guys the guy just got the guy
just got sentenced. Like apparently the dude was trying to
like run him down with his car put it and
then you know, got frustrated and got out of his
car and tried to try to and and and and
hit him with a with a samurais. Yeah, that has
to be the weirdest situation I've ever heard of combats

(23:13):
ever been involved in.

Speaker 1 (23:14):
I mean, because obviously you're looking at you over Mara
and looking at at the.

Speaker 2 (23:21):
Pulled out a sword too, because it don't look like you, Yeah,
gotta you got that much way to you.

Speaker 1 (23:26):
I have to pull out a sword too.

Speaker 2 (23:28):
I don't want to yols yols known for for for
being an animal in the case.

Speaker 1 (23:35):
It's a it's definitely a weird situation.

Speaker 2 (23:38):
I've I've I've heard of some weird stuff from the past,
but that has to be the weirdest thing I've seen
involving a combat sports that, at least in the last
ten years for sure.

Speaker 1 (23:52):
Like, how how are you.

Speaker 2 (23:54):
That that lost in in your your own your own head,
your own anger whatever that he's think it's a good
idea A pool sword on the ol VERMERO.

Speaker 3 (24:03):
Well, I think he tried to run them over first,
try to run him.

Speaker 1 (24:06):
Over twice and he couldn't do it, so he got
out of the car with the sword and try to
stab him with it.

Speaker 4 (24:11):
I guess I'm they were they had a huge disagreement
on something and we're lucky I've done with him pulled
out or something like that.

Speaker 3 (24:19):
Yeah, I mean so, yeah, I don't know the whole
backstory to it.

Speaker 2 (24:25):
One of those things that just makes you scra like, listen,
there's other ways we can handle things in life. And
you know, someone someone should someone should have talked talk
to that man, be like listen, that's shover mirraw And
I don't think this is the right way you want
to go about this.

Speaker 1 (24:41):
Yeah, there's you know, whatever the situation was, we're all
not really privy to you know.

Speaker 2 (24:47):
Yeah, outside of like murdering a family member, I don't
see what's the point of trying to run somebody over
then when you can't run them over.

Speaker 1 (24:55):
Trying to try to.

Speaker 4 (25:00):
Yeah, that's fun to me, it's funny, But we don't
know the we don't know the circumstances on what the
disagreement was. So some crazy ship that people to deal
with from day to day. It's like people handle ship differently.

Speaker 1 (25:18):
Yeah, and then you know crazy ship.

Speaker 2 (25:21):
Yeah, I mean let's uh, let's talk about uh, you
know Ben Askern, man, he you know, he looked well,
the lung transplant was was doing well. Does that part
of it scare you? As an athlete like you guys
aren't aren't guaranteed medical companies As a combat sports athlete,
you don't have the you know, you know, uh an
insurance company that that covers fighters. I think somebody should

(25:44):
should go out there and make sure, you know, not
just you know the m m A fighters, the fare
knuckle fighters, but boxers, Like I think professional athletes are having,
you know, a medical insurance company to take care of
it right come to you know, you know, Jake Paul
or Dana White taking their kindness to donate to make

(26:05):
sure that that Ben has a surgery because of his
medical insurance, basically saying that's too much money.

Speaker 1 (26:12):
We're not going to take on this risk.

Speaker 3 (26:15):
All right, Yeah that's tough. Like I don't know how.
I don't know how they're expecting us to pay for
insurance and then they want to.

Speaker 4 (26:26):
Say they can't cover it. It's just I don't know,
it's stuff. I usually have a full time job and
have insurance to work.

Speaker 3 (26:35):
So.

Speaker 2 (26:38):
I couldn't imagine that, like you know, imagine like something
you have to sit there and explain that you know,
a family member like hey, like we have this, we've
had this medical insurance, this, that, and the third we're
having an issue with ex family member where they have
to have a major surgery. In the insurance companies like yeah,
we're gonna drop you. We're not gonna take care of that.

Speaker 3 (26:59):
Yeah, that's straight bullshits me. It's one of the things
I think that just you know, I'm pretty sure they'll
be a huge lawsuit after it.

Speaker 1 (27:11):
Just ugly and corrupt and medical insurance is one of them.

Speaker 3 (27:16):
I agree.

Speaker 1 (27:18):
Oh, I'm glad that he got it. I'm glad that
he got the help that he needed.

Speaker 2 (27:22):
Luckily, you know, there was people around around his life
that that he had worked for, work with whatever to
kind of step up and do something.

Speaker 1 (27:31):
You know, I heard there was multiple people that made
large dollar donations, not just Dana, not just you know.

Speaker 2 (27:40):
I think that's the one thing that people underestimates about
the combat sports community, that is that, regardless of it
being you know, the bloodiest, the brutalist, you stick together
through when when it comes through stuff like this, and
when stuff like this happens and we all we all
kind of pulled.

Speaker 1 (27:56):
Together and make sure that things get taken care of.

Speaker 2 (27:59):
Glad that he he got not only got the surd lea,
but it's still with us here today because you know,
Bett Askern is you know, maybe not everyone's favorite fighter
or favorite style fighter, but he's been giving back to
the community and the youth of combat sports for some time.

Speaker 1 (28:17):
So I'm glad to hear that he's doing well right
now for sure.

Speaker 3 (28:22):
Praise that his family and him.

Speaker 1 (28:25):
Yeah, it's a weird situation. And and speaking of Jake,
I want to get your thought your thoughts from Sake
real fast.

Speaker 2 (28:31):
Obviously he thought, uh, you know, he thought Julier Caesar
Shavage Junior a few weeks ago, was giving a ranking
from the w b C.

Speaker 1 (28:45):
You know, guy was knocked off the rankings.

Speaker 2 (28:47):
And felt a kind of weird considering he's only fought
in a couple of actual boxers. They had a review,
they kept, they kept getting there. They officially or leaving
his ranking alone. You have a problem with when you're
only most of his fighters were against fights were against

(29:08):
older guys out of his weight class, not actually currently ranked.

Speaker 3 (29:15):
Fighting him.

Speaker 2 (29:16):
So it's basically going down to where now you know,
he's basically you know, calling for this guy, calling for
that guy. Uh, you know, he called he called somebody
out and basically Don King basically said that they're.

Speaker 1 (29:34):
Not going to have this fight. That you know, they
declined the fight and things of that nature.

Speaker 2 (29:39):
But the only thing I give Jake credit, he's a
top of the line from there's no there's no argument,
but I have a problem with him being ranked because
this is I think only like the second or third
actual box or he's full Now, Chavez isn't a shoes weight,
so I'm confused.

Speaker 1 (30:00):
How he got the ranking.

Speaker 2 (30:02):
Now, if you're asking me personally, you can't argue what
it's about money at this point.

Speaker 3 (30:07):
Oh for sure, I don't. I don't agree with it
at all.

Speaker 4 (30:09):
I really don't like Jacob as a I don't think
he's a top twenty, top even thirty boxer at his division.
I think if they put him up against any boxer
and the top fifteen, he'll be finished in less than
six rounds.

Speaker 3 (30:28):
That's my opinion.

Speaker 4 (30:29):
Like you said, he's fighting older guys, guys out of
his weight class where he has an advantage, Like when
he went against Mike Perry, Mike Perry's a lot smaller
than him.

Speaker 2 (30:38):
It's he's on what you fight at that night, like
we're we're people who have actual brains and you can't
brainwash us. Mike Perry has been a welterweight fighter for
ninety percent of his career. Obviously, as he's left the UFC,
he's been fighting more more towards like the middleweight side

(31:00):
the thing, right, So even that's still you're still fighting
somebody that's a weight class down. He's been a welterweight,
even a lightweight at portion of his career.

Speaker 1 (31:11):
That's two way classes. Damn.

Speaker 2 (31:13):
We were talking about bet Asker, and he's been a
natural one hundred and seventy pound fighter for most of
his career.

Speaker 1 (31:18):
That's two weeks spaces.

Speaker 2 (31:19):
Down Anderson Silva eighty five. But he's fought in at
two or five at points in time of his career.
But he's but he was almost fifty at the time.
I'm not even gonna bring up Mike Tyson because that's
just a ridiculous fight.

Speaker 1 (31:31):
As it is. So you're fighting.

Speaker 2 (31:34):
Non boxers who were weight so you're you're you're a
weight bully and and you're you're a.

Speaker 1 (31:40):
Senior citizen bully.

Speaker 2 (31:41):
At this point time, we're asking my opinion, the rumor
is it's gonna be Anthony Joshua.

Speaker 1 (31:47):
That's somebody that he's gonna have to fight next.

Speaker 3 (31:50):
He was also.

Speaker 2 (31:52):
Heavyweight fight this weekend where he was calling out uh
for for for a an MMA fighter, Why are you
letting this guy in the ring.

Speaker 3 (32:04):
A right to me.

Speaker 1 (32:05):
I get it. He's going to get clicks, he's gonna
get viewed. I get that aspect of it.

Speaker 2 (32:10):
But when when is the the quality of what you're
doing more important than than the dollars or clicks that
you're gonna get from allowing you to do this.

Speaker 4 (32:22):
I think Reese called them out to like I said, Jake, Jake,
he's only gonna fight where he has an advantage. And
he's not gonna fight anybody Joshua. He takes a Joshua fight,
he'd be an idiot to do that, but that's what
Jake does. He he's only gonna take where he has

(32:44):
a huge advantage in and and has a bigger percentage
of chance of winning. And if the fights are not
already bought, like.

Speaker 2 (32:55):
Yeah, uh, you gotta be careful, he's gonna he's gonna
sue you for Slandon.

Speaker 1 (32:59):
Now. Listen, I said it before.

Speaker 2 (33:06):
You know, the best thing that he ever did when
he started doing this thing was attached himself to Amanda Serrano.

Speaker 1 (33:11):
She gave him credibility.

Speaker 4 (33:14):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (33:14):
Anyone can can try to tell me anything different. If
he wasn't attached to Amanda Serrano, half the people would
be paying attention to wouldn't be paying attention.

Speaker 1 (33:22):
If he wasn't doing what he what he has been doing.

Speaker 2 (33:24):
What he did last weekend with the all female boxing card,
absolutely smart movie, it was. It was great for women's boxing,
it was great for the sport of boxing as a whole.
But on the other side of that, when we see
him fight, it's not against legitimate guys, and we're when
we watched combat sports, we know what we're watching.

Speaker 1 (33:43):
You can't sit there and tell us that any of.

Speaker 2 (33:44):
These these fights are on the level as far as competitiveness,
you know, and and things of that nature.

Speaker 1 (33:51):
We can argue about it all day until he fights act.

Speaker 2 (33:56):
I think the guy he knocked off of the rankings list,
it should be the guy he fights. If I'm waking
up and I'm a ranked cruiser weight.

Speaker 1 (34:03):
They just gave that man my ranking. Now I'm not
ranked anymore.

Speaker 2 (34:07):
I want that fight next, right, I mean with that granted,
like all right, taking on a different perspective, fighting who
he's fighting on the level he's been fighting is probably
better than what a lot of guys do. When you're
coming up through the ranks, you're fighting unknown person, This
unknown person that where he's fault in all these names

(34:29):
to get to this point.

Speaker 1 (34:30):
He's learning on the fly. I get that aspect of it,
but when are you gonna drop that act and actually
fight boxers?

Speaker 3 (34:38):
Right?

Speaker 2 (34:40):
I hope with the fact that he's being ranked, that
he's forced to fight actual boxers in his weight class
is the only good thing I can see hopefully coming
up this we'll find it if Jake Pole's a real
boxer or or if he's just been the YouTube guy
all along. We should find out before the year's and
I hope, I hope he's been taking it serious. I

(35:01):
don't perceive him beating any.

Speaker 1 (35:03):
Of these guys, but crazier things have happened in combat
sports for sure.

Speaker 2 (35:08):
So the other crazy part is, obviously, you know, we
were talking about the UFC, uh, you know, with with
them announcing over the last few weeks that they're going
to have an event on the fourth of July at
the White Half, is that not the craziest thing we
heard of in the last ten years in combat sports?

Speaker 4 (35:30):
Being at pretty much other years, these last couple of
UFC events, I've seen something like that coming. But it's
business and and b KFC sold in the gaps again,
they're going to try to do something different and make
it blow it up, and it's all business a white
to the business man.

Speaker 1 (35:50):
They're going to need your owner to do to do that, Listen,
the only way you make this work is that you
loaded up with a bunch of American fighters, you know,
I mean, what are you gonna dust off Brian Stain?

Speaker 2 (36:03):
You're gonna dust off Chris Widman? Like, there's not a
whole lot of American champions. So the hope and pray
is that that John Jones is actually gonna show up
and fight somebody at this point in time, right, Yeah,
And which is basically came out this weekend whe Dana White.

Speaker 1 (36:21):
It's like I can't trust him to do that. They've
been having their little barbs back and forth.

Speaker 2 (36:25):
And I don't blame Dana for saying that would what
John has pulled over the last year, all right, So.

Speaker 1 (36:32):
It makes it it's gonna be up to somebody like Connor,
like some of these.

Speaker 2 (36:37):
Other people who could pull in and bring numbers because
it's gonna absolutely be a pay per view event only,
where basically now the tickets are gonna be comp only,
which means you're all the people who are gonna be.
They're gonna have to pass all these background checks, et
cetera to be on be on the property, to be
there for the fight.

Speaker 1 (36:54):
So, uh, it's gonna be interesting to see how it works.

Speaker 2 (36:58):
If you if if you're someone that works for the UFC,
how do you think that that that you go a
Baptist to make this thing work?

Speaker 3 (37:06):
M I'm not sure.

Speaker 4 (37:08):
I think it's gonna It's gonna be a tough sell
on getting John Jones, but he would be the one
that could make it the big event that everybody wants,
especially if he goes against aspinall so, but Connor being
on that same part would be great too.

Speaker 1 (37:28):
I was saying, like, you're gonna need some of these
other guys or girls that retired. I think you would
need someone like a Ronda RAILSI. You would need someone
like a like a Robbie Lawler.

Speaker 2 (37:38):
You know, Chris Widman, Guys like that, like thinking like
military guys that used to pay Brian Stam would probably
be a great one off night for for somebody like him.

Speaker 1 (37:49):
It's gonna have to be John Jones, econor McGregor on
that car for it to work, at least in my opinion.

Speaker 2 (37:55):
Uh, you know, there's not the other side of it
is you have to find some guys from England the
fight on it too, because it's fourth of July, right
for sure.

Speaker 1 (38:04):
So I mean there's a couple of little things the
ways they can go about it. You know, you get
some Olympians, American Olympians on the card, Allah Kayla Harrison,
things of that nature, and I think that's the way
it would work.

Speaker 2 (38:17):
But there's a lot of ifs in in that in
that lineup, so we'll have to see if it works
out the way they want to.

Speaker 1 (38:28):
And even more so this weekend.

Speaker 2 (38:30):
Were you were you happy to see Dustin h have
a big fight in his own backyard to kind of
walk off into the sunset?

Speaker 3 (38:40):
Oh? For sure?

Speaker 4 (38:40):
That was that was It was a good fight. Like
I watched it last night, I was rooting for Dustin.
I mean, I'm a huge Max Holloway fan as well.
It was his go away fight, Max, Max winning did
his thing and I had Max winning four rounds to one,

(39:01):
So I think they call it right and and it was.
It was a great show. I mean, Dustin had his
his his chance and he just didn't put away. I
think he ran out of time in the second round,
but for the most part Max, Max had his number.
I mean, it's hard to beat a guy three times.
He already had beat on Dustin already had beat him twice.

(39:24):
It's hard to beat a guy three times where you
guys go and banging. He lose a close one or
I think the first one was submission, second one, it
was a close fight and Max, like they said, Max
and Dustin are both top level fighters, and and they're
different fighters now.

Speaker 3 (39:40):
And as Max proved that he is, he's a BMF.

Speaker 2 (39:44):
Yeah, I kind of felt that that was kind of
the way it was going to go. We talked about
it in football all times. It's really hard to beat
a team three times in one year. It's the kind
of the same thing that kind of goes in outside
of rare occasions where it's just a bad matchup. Like,
it's hard to see somebody as they continue to progress

(40:06):
to beat a guy three times throughout their career. And
I thought that Max had kind of bridged the gap
over the last few years, you know, and that he's
kind of found another level within himself when he when
he stopped justin Gagee, uh, when he won the b
MFF title.

Speaker 1 (40:26):
I thought that was that was probably like one of
his biggest moments of his career.

Speaker 2 (40:30):
I don't think there's no way he's gonna be able
to top that, and takes the chance on taking this
fight with going in his own backyard, things of that nature,
where everything was stacked against him, and he he rose
to the occasion show showing why why he has been
arguably the the the best fighter for for the UFC

(40:53):
over over the last handful of years. You guys names
I mean Matt Max Holloway is one of the few
stars they have left over there in.

Speaker 4 (41:02):
My opinion, sure, and he's the first one to defend
a BMF belt and then he did it right there
in Dustin's backyard. So props to to Max Hollower.

Speaker 3 (41:13):
He did great.

Speaker 1 (41:15):
It's a special knight for Max.

Speaker 2 (41:17):
You know, I agree with both of both of them
being upset that they didn't get Fight of the Night
after the fact.

Speaker 1 (41:23):
It's it's it's hard to kind of take that away
from those guys when they do it in that way.

Speaker 2 (41:30):
I'm not the one that gives that bonuses, but I
would definitely would have given them the nod for Fight
of the Night at least in my opinion, all.

Speaker 4 (41:37):
Right or give or payout two fights? They were they
were great, Like I mean, guys, yeah there UFC. They
got the money to do it, right, they.

Speaker 1 (41:47):
Definitely do that.

Speaker 2 (41:48):
You know, it's not like where you're in one of
these other other mm A promotions and what they have
is what they have. It's like when you when you're
back by by a big company like like t k O.
Just pay at the the extra fifty.

Speaker 1 (42:01):
K to both of them and let them enjoy themselves.

Speaker 2 (42:04):
Let them uh you know, you know, let Dustin go
off into the sunset as he should with with the
Fight of the night bonus, at least in my opinion.
But we're We're not the people that work behind the
scenes there. So I'm sure they had their reasons for
for for picking on uh you know, Allen invitory for
for the Fight of the night there. But but the

(42:28):
only damn thing I would have to say about that
fight card last night. But as we get ready to
wrap this one up, what you know, what I typically
do here is kind of throw the proverbial microphone over
to you. Anyone you would like to thank training partners, teammates,
shoot out your social media sites, any spots that you

(42:48):
have any party partying words for for the for the

Speaker 2 (44:42):
Johnny Garbarino is gonna be on the fight card. Ryan
Peterson's gonna is gonna be fighting Dustin peg.

Speaker 1 (44:51):
As the main event.

Speaker 2 (44:52):
We've already had, you know, three of the of the
