Speaker 1 (00:04):
Hello, what's up everybody?
Speaker 2 (00:29):
Welcome back for another episode of The Real and the Rare.
I'm your host as always, Stephen Michelle. We got a
special one lined up for you. Gonna be talking about
all kinds of things going on the combat sports world.
But let's get a get a warm Welcome to the
new guest here on tonight. Tonight's episode is Gets Left
(00:49):
Athletics co owner mister Shaun case Sean. How are we
feeling this evening? My friend?
Speaker 3 (00:56):
Feeling good, feeling good? Thanks for having me on.
Speaker 2 (00:59):
It's always a pleasure. Uh. Like what I like to
do here, man is I like to give everyone a
platform to tell their story, to connect them with some
more people. And obviously down to my bottom is no
stranger to myself, no stranger to South Florida. Uh tribune
is the black widow herself. Miss Jessica Borger, featherweight champion
(01:20):
soon to be Queen of Violence champion. We got uh,
she's got a big date October fourth. We were on
here talking about the possibilities of it it is it
is come to fruition and uh, I'm sure Jessica is
deep into training camp right now and join her.
Speaker 4 (01:37):
So yes, absolutely, But still glad to be here.
Speaker 2 (01:40):
Thanks for having me guys, It's it's always a pleasure
my friend. Appreciate Peak Sports obviously sharing the love, uh
you know, with with with our fellow listeners and viewers.
So let me hop right into this. Seawan, obviously, you're you're, you're,
you're our star for the night, the Defecto co host
for the evening. First off, Sean, I'm gonna throw the
(02:02):
floor over to you, man, obviously, you know, you know,
co owner wo gets left athletics. Your your shirt's a
been on you know, uh, you know, multiple different fighters,
multiple different levels of the combat sports world. Tell me
how this all helped me. How this thing came together? Man,
how did you get gate together to create the clothing
brand and how you feel it's involved for you and
(02:26):
helped the athlete you know over the last five to
ten years.
Speaker 5 (02:30):
Well, how it was created was just I kind of
had this.
Speaker 3 (02:38):
Want to do something in clothing. I had. I don't
know where it came from.
Speaker 5 (02:42):
First idea was I was gonna do funny clothes, right,
and then all of a sudden, some company called stephen
Berry's came into my town and that's what they did.
Speaker 3 (02:51):
It was like they stole my idea.
Speaker 5 (02:52):
Right then we had the boom of MMA, right, and
I lived in the same area where the militants fight
systems was, so we had the best gym in the world,
you know, I mean probably still to this day.
Speaker 3 (03:05):
And we got to hang out with these guys.
Speaker 5 (03:08):
They were like normal people to us, you know, I
mean everybody else would be like, oh my god, but
for us, I'm like that dud's a bouncer at my
bar at night and I'm watching.
Speaker 3 (03:17):
Them beating people up.
Speaker 5 (03:19):
Yeah, I mean like that's his bouncer, you know, all
of a sudden they're world champions. But uh, I was like, man,
I love tap out. I thought it was awesome. So
I just started trying to come up with an idea,
and uh we came up with it one night, like
soon as I heard the word slept the light bulb.
Speaker 3 (03:36):
But next day I was at a lawyer's trademarking.
Speaker 2 (03:40):
So and then that's the important part right there. That's
when you come up fishing. When you have your trademark, Yeah,
the most important thing. So no one does exactly what
you're saying, No one copies your brand, no one tries
to steal your ideas. You know, you mentioned the tap
out guys man, that that's that's that's the the og
of the ogs right there.
Speaker 3 (04:00):
Yeah, they showed they made the blueprints out for it.
Speaker 5 (04:03):
And that's I started selling shirts out of the trunk
of my car, just like they did, driving around everywhere
barta bar, trying to force my shirt on people.
Speaker 3 (04:12):
And they were terrible shirts in the beginning.
Speaker 2 (04:15):
Oh yeah, Well, we've got to think of how screen
printing's changed drastically just over five years, hell with ten
fifteen years, just over the latest five years. The T
shirt you can get like this one I'm wearing I
bought down down the Shore last weekend. You know, got
to show some love for Rocky here obviously being the
(04:35):
Philly gockey. But uh yeah, I mean the screen printing
has changed, the quality of the T shirts have changed,
Like so much has changed, just as far as apparel wise,
that goes goes into it. Now, let me ask you
another thing here. Obviously half your half, the athletes you
(04:58):
can't talk to because they're they're they're FC fighters. How
has the the what the UFC has done to the
the average sponsor changed. How a lot of a lot
of the these T shirt companies. You know, it could
be energy drink companies, could could be you know, supplement companies.
How do how is it made it harder for you
(05:19):
guys to work with some of these higher level you
UFC athletes. I'm not even gonna say m M A
because obviously UFC and MM as two different things. I
always say that.
Speaker 5 (05:30):
So that's a great question, And that happened to me
several times where they grew so fat, Like I had
t Sa Torres when she was in the very beginning.
Speaker 2 (05:39):
And then I remember.
Speaker 5 (05:40):
That, Yeah, yeah, I had you know, uh, who else
did we have?
Speaker 3 (05:46):
That? When they when they brought out the.
Speaker 5 (05:49):
Ultimate Fighter Show, they took like the whole Invictah.
Speaker 3 (05:55):
Roster. So they're all off the table now because they're
all in the.
Speaker 2 (05:58):
Because when when they brought in the women's division, they
literally took everyone from in Victor from the I remember correctly,
you had, you had t Sha. I think you had Andrea.
Speaker 3 (06:10):
Lee, right ajb Lee?
Speaker 2 (06:12):
Yeah, Like, so you lost a couple a couple of nice.
Speaker 3 (06:17):
Right there, you know, And it's weird, like especially with
the women.
Speaker 5 (06:22):
I don't know if I just have an eye for
finding highly skilled women, you know what I mean.
Speaker 3 (06:29):
Not saying that that I don't have that with men.
Speaker 5 (06:32):
As, but like if you look at the rosters, like
I find these girls.
Speaker 3 (06:36):
In there and they end up being great.
Speaker 5 (06:39):
I mean seriously, So like when I remember when I
saw a video of Tsa Taurus, I was like, oh,
she's a star. I could just it was just so flat.
It was like watching a movie, you know what I mean,
Like she had it. I knew she had it.
Speaker 3 (06:52):
She almost quit.
Speaker 5 (06:54):
She was like it took so long for her to
get a fight, she almost quit, you know what I mean.
Speaker 3 (06:59):
But that's how bad it was for the women back then.
So easy.
Speaker 2 (07:04):
I say it all the time, like like yeah, you know,
you know I have this saying. I said it to
Jessica last time.
Speaker 5 (07:12):
You know.
Speaker 2 (07:14):
You know, Chris Cyborg and Gina Coronal Krawg so Ronda
Rassi can run. You know, we're seeing even the next
generation Anthidad. Like obviously Amna Nunas is gonna be is
gonna be coming back either the end of this year
at the beginning of next year. I still think that
me personally, I think they're gonna hold off that that
Kayla Harrison a Mana Nunas fight until they get to
(07:35):
the White House. That's just my guess. We'll go back
to that one in a second. But it's not easy
for for the women to find the consistent fights, you know,
three to four times a year, the proper payout, et cetera. Like,
there's so many different obstacles that women are still having
overcoming combat sports just because it's you know, it's what
(07:58):
like ten to fifteen years younger than and than the
sport itself. So yeah, for them to find that it's
it's still kind of rough. So having guys like you
in their corner to help them get through training, get
get you know, you know, have geared to gear to
where the support to potentially get get get money for
sales on the back end. It's not an easy thing
(08:20):
to do. And it's guys like you were few and
far in between. So that's why I always love to
love to hear some of these stories of like how
how you connect with fighters? How you know? I heard
every time when when we do these interviews, Jessica has
a laundry list of people that that support her, and
nine times out of ten it's the same same five
(08:40):
five companies, and then you know a few of them
are interchangeable and things like that, but the guys far between.
So I when I do like that, I want to
make sure you guys get your love too. So even
it's Jessica the last one, I made sure like I
pulled a couple of responsors that she could have a
chance to kind of talk to we can get some
(09:00):
content on that to kind of help you guys out.
So kind of inspired my idea to kind of bring
you on.
Speaker 3 (09:06):
And I love that.
Speaker 4 (09:10):
That's awesome of you.
Speaker 2 (09:13):
I mean, we all support each other, like when it
comes to the media in the combat sports world, like
we're you know, one hand washes the other. We talked
about that on many different levels. And you know, Sean,
you've worked with, worked with, work with, have have had
sponsored a lot of a lot of some of these
bigger name athletes will pull up you know, uh you
(09:34):
and gens here obviously.
Speaker 5 (09:36):
Yeah, Jen supports us so heartedly. So yeah, he's really
tight with Tim. We see him quite a bit.
Speaker 2 (09:45):
And you just mentioned the main himself, mister.
Speaker 5 (09:49):
S that's Brantly Gilbert. Brantly Gilbert, he supports athletics, dude.
Speaker 2 (09:56):
And then also on the people don't understand that you
also work with with a lot of guys. You know,
you throw out a lot of a lot of a
lot of that you're geared to some of these guys
who you know, have have that have the the eye
of the of the public, so to speak.
Speaker 5 (10:13):
Yeah, we got quite a few. So it's the longer
we go, the bigger it's getting. It's it's like a
snowball effect, you know, like everybody sees that and.
Speaker 3 (10:24):
They want to be part of the movement.
Speaker 2 (10:28):
Obviously, the initial shirt, yeah, you did with Jessica last
time we were on here. Obviously new one, right, you're
going to talk about it. This is your talk about
as well.
Speaker 4 (10:47):
Got in the background.
Speaker 6 (10:48):
But I'm also wearing the other one, the Resorts of Violence.
Speaker 4 (10:52):
But I'm better than.
Speaker 3 (10:55):
I knew you were going to talk about that shirt.
They said, let me have that ready.
Speaker 2 (11:00):
I mean yeah, I mean obviously, and it's it's not
an easy thing to do in the combat sports work,
especially in bare knuckle, just because of the the way
a lot of the girls fight. So I mean, you know,
I gave Jessica her love, then I'll give it to
her now. It's being that first knockout is something that
(11:23):
you know, no one can talk away from you know,
we could take away from you. You did it against
a boxer, so obviously heart move for showing to kind
of get get on it that to make a T
shirt for.
Speaker 6 (11:33):
That, Yeah, I had to give him credit to though.
He always the type of people that he sponsors and
the type of people that run, you know, get slept
and slept athletics is just the type of people that
you want around you.
Speaker 4 (11:48):
Like we were saying, like loyalty and it's just they're
good people.
Speaker 6 (11:52):
They're there, there, their heart, they're everything they stand for
is what I want to you know, stand with and
that's It's just it's a.
Speaker 4 (12:00):
Huge part of who they are. And I think a
lot of people see.
Speaker 2 (12:03):
That, Yeah, that that you just said it because like
not everyone's really like when they get in this business,
have honest, true intentions, want to be want to be
a part of your life, help out be at the
fact that another family member. A lot of a lot
of a lot of people are you know, there's a
lot of dirty business that goes on in the combat
(12:25):
sports world, both sponsorship wise, promoter wise, contract wise, et cetera.
So oh yes, rare to find real connections in life
in general. The hell with combat sports just in life.
Speaker 4 (12:39):
Yeah right, see to see that.
Speaker 2 (12:44):
You know, the the genuine love that one that you,
Jessica have for for the people who support you and
and Sean. You just the just the fact that seeing
you know, the the quality of fighters that you have,
that that you've had had supported in you know, in
the in the recent recent years currently in the past.
It speaks to who you are too. You know, you're
(13:04):
not just a guy looking to make you know, you know,
looking to make money off a T shirt. You generally,
you know, want to be a part part in what
they're doing and what what what they're trying to grow
and also trying to help grow your brain at the
same time, which no one's to fault you for that.
Speaker 3 (13:18):
So we can grow together. That's that's the whole idea.
You grow together.
Speaker 2 (13:23):
So we're not we're not all perfect, you know. You know,
you should flaunt your flaws just as much as your
your your qualities. Me and you talk about this all
the time, Jessica. Don't yeah, don't put up don't put
on a mask for for for the general public and
think that people aren't going to see through it. Eventually, Yep,
the mask falls off and they see the ugly underneath.
You know, if you already put it out there to bear,
(13:45):
ain't nobody can use it against you exactly.
Speaker 6 (13:49):
You know That's what I stand by, Like, you know,
I'm okay letting people know my flaws because you know,
that's part of being a human. You know, that's part
of learning, that's part of wanting to grow. So if
you're not wanting to grow, you're not and that you're flast.
Speaker 2 (14:03):
That's listen. I can't say that any better, my friend. Now, Now, Sean,
you know you obviously talk about your relationship with Tim.
How does he help you with with you know, your
day to day as being one of the co founders
of slept.
Speaker 5 (14:21):
Well, I'll tell you what Tim does is he's got
he's got this skeleton.
Speaker 3 (14:26):
Key that opens up every single door.
Speaker 5 (14:29):
That there is in the combat sports world. Like there's
not a person that he can't communicate with, you know
what I mean. And I always told him, I was like, man,
I know this brand, I know it works. It's it's like,
I know it's beautiful. I said, I can sell it.
I just need to be able to get in front
(14:50):
of these people. I said, I need you to open
doors for me. You know what I mean, Like, once
we get in, I can I can do this. So
I mean he's like we're everywhere now, you see it
where everywhere, you know.
Speaker 2 (15:03):
So yeah, the reason I was mentioning Tim was obviously
he was on the recent episode of Jackson with with
with Rampage. Yeah, you know, I listen, I love Rampage.
He's got so many great qualities that people overlook all
the time. They always want to see the negative side,
you know, the bay side that they want to. Rampage
(15:27):
is one of the one of the real m efforts
out there.
Speaker 3 (15:31):
Like I love Quinton that did is that he's so cool.
Speaker 5 (15:36):
We actually stayed at his house. Well he's doing that
live stream on one of his live streams. For that
whole night, we went out to dinner, which the owner
of the place comped our whole entire meal. Oh my god,
that was so cool. But he had two world champions
in there at one time. So how often does that happen?
Speaker 3 (15:55):
You know what I mean. Let's and the like that.
Speaker 5 (15:57):
I'd be like a five six hundred dollars meal because
there was like eight and nine.
Speaker 3 (16:00):
Of us and it was an expensive Mexican restaurant.
Speaker 5 (16:03):
You know, but he's like, wait and checked into our hotel.
He's like, gn't even checked in your hotel. And he's like,
you're just.
Speaker 3 (16:09):
Staying with me. I got runs for you guys, and
so we stayed at his house. It was like, he's
so cool, you.
Speaker 2 (16:17):
Know, he's I was lucky enough to cover his bell
to our debut and we were you know, I was
able to, you know, do some questions for in the
press room. Luckily enough of you, I got him to
sign my one of my rand paid shirts after the
press conference was over. Yeah, to Luke Thomas is disdained
because he was very upset about that. Yeah, I made
(16:40):
a post about that. I'm like, I waited, media is
over at that point in time, I'm no longer a
media number. At that point in time, he's walking off.
He has the choice to say I'm gonna sign that
or I'm gonna walk by. I didn't even say anything though,
I just held the T shirt off. I gotta sign that. Wait, wait,
I gotta sign that. And this is gonna go into
(17:00):
one of my one of my other questions, all right,
because it's becoming big news over over the last few days.
Uh Dan and Miami down there we got we got Karen.
Speaker 4 (17:11):
Right.
Speaker 2 (17:11):
Yeah, And I've been mentioning over the last few weeks.
You've seen the the CEO at the tennis games take
the hat from from the little kid. We've seen balls
getting taken from other kids. What's the craziest things you've
guys seen a combat sports are at that that crosses
the line for fan etiquette?
Speaker 3 (17:33):
Well, the craziest.
Speaker 2 (17:36):
Doesn't matter if it's combat sports. It could be you know,
you went to a college game, a high school game, whatever,
just something that you just like makes you be like, wow,
really that's how we're acting today.
Speaker 4 (17:48):
Yeah, I'll manage so many.
Speaker 3 (17:49):
Things on the spot.
Speaker 5 (17:52):
You know a couple of times when somebody decided to
touch Jessica's face and a face off, that's pretty wild.
Speaker 6 (17:58):
Yeah, well just her mouth in general in front of children,
including mine at the last you know that that, I
mean just people don't think about that kind of stuff.
But like you said, I've seen people literally take things
from Like I'm throwing a shirt to a kid in
the audience and the adult behind them is like, oh,
it's mine.
Speaker 4 (18:18):
I'm like, give it's the kid, you piece of crap.
Speaker 2 (18:24):
That's a line there. The the the autograph hound or
you know, the the adults that who should be acting
their age act, we're act worse than a ten year
old kid that isn't getting their way.
Speaker 4 (18:39):
Yep, especially there with liquid courage.
Speaker 2 (18:42):
That's not an excuse me either, like like it's not
use it an excuse, but it's not if you're twenty
beers in. I don't care if you're two beers in. Like,
there's a general way that you you you handle yourself,
especially if you're going go into a game like like
we were just talking about with the baseball, I think
(19:04):
both the the Miami Marlins and the Philadelphia Phillies hit
that one out of the park when they've seen what happened.
Social media is doing what they doing and holding this
woman accountable. Brab do that out of the stadium set Secondly,
then then the then the the the the Marlins, uh
(19:25):
you know, gave gave him a goodie bag. Then the
Phillies fan out about it. They send them underneath the
stadium after the game. He gets a signed back. But
I've seen situations like it doesn't matter for talking college
football whatever. I think the worst what is what a
lot of these the these cards signing people due to
the pro wrestlers because they just hang around the airports. Yea, yeah,
(19:48):
and anyone who has been involved in the pro wrestling
circus at that point in time, they're the most irritable
to exhaust people on the planet. And then you have
you know, you crazy Joe card collector with two pages
of cards to be signed by one athlete. You know
(20:09):
exactly where it's going to this one that.
Speaker 4 (20:14):
It does get pretty crazy.
Speaker 6 (20:16):
It's just it's just to me, it just blows my
mind that some of the things that people do and
just to get what they want really as you know,
it's it's a selfishness. They're thinking about themselves and what
they want rather than everything else around them.
Speaker 2 (20:31):
Yeah, I mean, listen, uh, I have kids, so like
I get it, Like, you know, you want them to
have ex or b signed, Like you know, even when
I did a media for for for Knucklemania, I was
waiting till almost I was completely dumb with my media
stuff and be like, hey, guys, if you have your stuff,
come down, come down. You know I'm gonna I'm gonna
(20:51):
take you down the freight elevator down to where where
they're doing everything they want. That meeting you know, Wrothwell
and and beck and and and tan Ghano and and
Jeremy Stevens and all this other stuff. I didn't get
a single fucking thing signed for myself. That doesn't It
was their, their their kind of moment, their their first
first bare knuckle events. So I'm not sitting there like, hey,
(21:13):
let go and get this, do and do do that.
My daughter was helping my son have more. He was
he was in he was in another world. He didn't
know how to that was.
Speaker 4 (21:23):
That's beautiful though. That's completely selfless of you, and that
shows that shows a lot about you.
Speaker 2 (21:28):
I could have been sitting there like, you know, I
had a bunch of a bunch of cards sitting over
there that that that are Ben and Jeremy's. But listen,
there's a time and a place for that. If it
tells you on on your past, do not ask for
autographs or photos. You shouldn't fucking do it. Yeah that
(21:48):
we're asking.
Speaker 4 (21:51):
Good, h I just you know, I love I love
my fans, I love you know.
Speaker 6 (21:55):
But yeah, there is a time and place there is
you know, just be a little considerate of the people
because we're only one person, you know. That's that kind
of thing. It just you know, just think about.
Speaker 3 (22:06):
To you gotta know the right situation. There's certain situations
like and.
Speaker 2 (22:10):
That's why like when I try to, like say, if
I do want to get something time, I try to
do it at at the press conference, like you just
had a few few weeks ago. The way anything after that,
the it's that fighter's personal time focus, even even directly
after the fight like this. There's some of these fighters
that you have a broken hand crack, you know, you
(22:32):
know you got you got some cuts you gotta get
stitched up. If I'm sitting there with a with a
handful of cards, regardless if it's for me, it's for
my kids. If I'm gonna do a giveaway for for
you know, for the shows that I do or something
like that, there's a time and a place for it.
There's also you can message said fighter and be like, hey,
like listen, I'm gonna be at the event. Let's link
up afterwards or before whatever, get a few things signed,
and let's work out a giveaway together. There's ways you
(22:55):
can go a bad things without being obnoxiously rude, knocking
kids over. I mean, just a jo you know, yep.
Speaker 3 (23:05):
Tagging balls from kids.
Speaker 4 (23:08):
That's crazy to me, that's crazy.
Speaker 2 (23:11):
And no, that's not the only one I seen this week.
There was one I think up in New York. There
was a guy, you know, empty section, ball was hit there,
no one's there, so you have kids all running into
the section. He's he's knocking these kids over to get
through the eard and get to the ball. And then
someone approached him afterwards He's like, I got it now,
I get the fuck out of my face. Bye bye.
(23:34):
He just sat where he was sat, He's got the
ball in his hands, just waving them off like this. Bye. Oh.
I would be oh my god, I'm bad stories from
combat sports events, but not. It's every situation is different,
Like you can't control what's going to happen around you,
how people are gonna act. I'll say one thing about
(23:57):
the dad from the current situation from Queen Karen here, bravo, dude,
you show you showed your You showed your kid exactly
like listen here take the freaking baseball and life itself
showed the kid that you will be rewarded if you
act properly.
Speaker 4 (24:14):
Mm hmmm, yes, I love that.
Speaker 2 (24:15):
Could have you know that could have kid could have
been upset. Whatever he was from what I've seen, didn't
you know his emotion didn't change. I think the worst
part about it, what made it for for this woman
is the kid's freaking birthday. Yeah, on his birthday, Like
are you proud? Like you you realize you could? You can?
(24:38):
You could talk to the grounds crew. They can give
you a ball, right, because I've done that before, you know,
before a game started. If you like, let's just say,
if you're sitting on the first or third base, say
something to the grad screw like, YO can get a
couple of balls for the kids. Nine times out of ten,
I'm just gonna throw you a ball. I did it.
I did it. I think it was like ten years ago.
(24:59):
We went to uh uh went to a Phillies game
and in Washington, right, and you know, I want I
made sure like we had some decencies that were a
couple of rows away from the third baseline. Just walked
up to the grand screw like, hey, I got a
couple of kids, can give us some balls? Sure here? Yeah,
It's that easy. Like sometimes just prepare for you, like
(25:20):
like if you want a ball from from from from
a baseball game, it's not really a hard thing to do.
It really isn't knocking over kids doing stuff like that. Dude,
that stuff for somewhere else. Man, It's just we have
to we have to put police these people where they're
They're no longer in these situations ourselves, because you know,
(25:42):
you have the stadium. They don't care. They just they
just want to They just want the money from from
the ticket sales. And I don't blame them for that.
Speaker 3 (25:48):
But somebody's got to pay these big salaries.
Speaker 2 (25:54):
Well you are, and baseball salaries are getting ready to
hit salary caps soon, right, Yeah, I don't think it's
ever gonna that.
Speaker 3 (26:02):
We'll say about that.
Speaker 2 (26:04):
My thing about all right, So how do they how
do they undo the last fifteen years of what these
contracts have been, Right, why do you want to do
Bryce Harper's contract? How do you want to do show
An there's other guys that have just as out of
these crazy contracts as well. How do you want to
do that? You can't, You can't. You have to go
(26:26):
and then now put a cap on it, right, yeah,
they have, They would probably have to put it in
place that Hey, when when these handful of deals come
to an end, there's going to be a salary cap,
but it's not going to be for your error. We
have to fix the game. There's so many other things
they have to fix in baseball, salary caps at least
of their problems. I promise you.
Speaker 3 (26:47):
Yeah, what do you what do you think about that
pitch clock?
Speaker 2 (26:52):
What do you think about that one? Jess? Salary cap
and baseball?
Speaker 6 (26:56):
I don't know nothing about baseball nothing, don't know.
Speaker 2 (27:02):
Whatever. Whatever sports our kids are into, that's that's exactly.
Speaker 4 (27:06):
None of them are on baseball.
Speaker 3 (27:08):
You're not going to go to a Devil Rays game
with me?
Speaker 4 (27:11):
I'll go with you. Am I gonna know what's going
on here? Am I going to catch a ball for
a kid? Yes?
Speaker 3 (27:19):
I'll teach you about the game. That's easy.
Speaker 4 (27:23):
Lastun used to play a long time ago, for a
very short period of time. But it did not teach
me anything, not really anything.
Speaker 2 (27:32):
You really gotta love love some of these sports to
kind of be into it like that. What about you, Sean?
What are some of your favorite sports man? What are
some things you like?
Speaker 5 (27:43):
Baseball was my favorite sport ever. I loved baseball growing up.
Me and my brother like our own name. I lived
in a neighborhood where there was a bunch of kids
and that's all we did was sports back then.
Speaker 3 (27:55):
You know, we started to.
Speaker 5 (27:56):
Have video games, but you know, like Nintendo Segas we went.
Speaker 2 (28:02):
We were still outside in the in the woods, goofing
around with stuff. When video games are coming out, we
did that too. It doesn't mean I won't sit down
and enjoy a good video game, but.
Speaker 5 (28:12):
No, no, But it's not like the kids today, Like
my kids, I can't get them away from their video games.
Speaker 2 (28:18):
What amazes me about the generation And it's gonna sound
really mean, right, we all have all this access to
the information, you're still freaking absolutely stupid.
Speaker 3 (28:27):
Yeah, they don't use that.
Speaker 5 (28:30):
They're asking questions and I'll be like, ask your phone,
Like why didn't you have the time that it took
for you to come down.
Speaker 3 (28:36):
Here and ask me. You could already have the answer
we need.
Speaker 2 (28:39):
We have to go to the library.
Speaker 5 (28:44):
We had to go to the library. We have to
find the right book. Then we had to find the
right chapter. Then we had to find the right paragraph.
Speaker 6 (28:55):
These kids don't know how to do research. They just
asked their phone. If they didn't know how to ask, it.
Speaker 5 (29:03):
Took two hours to do that. They can do that
in like five seconds, like they have the world at
their fingertips.
Speaker 2 (29:12):
And listen, man, they need to do better. I don't know.
I don't know if there's anything we can do to
help them, but they need to be smarter than this.
Speaker 3 (29:19):
They're really good at video games.
Speaker 2 (29:21):
So now I want to get your thoughts on some
some general combat sports sports stuff. I want to throw
this out there. Came across the news, I think it
was last week right that uh, you know some of
those some of those lawsuits from the UFC was coming.
Anderson Silva got paid almost eleven million dollars from from
(29:42):
his UH from his lawsuit with the UFC. Basically they
were basically taking advantage of him, his likeness of things
of that nature. UFC has been involved in a lot
of these lawsuits. I think there's a guy on in
on contract right now that refused to take his payout.
Speaker 3 (29:58):
Yeah, I heard about that.
Speaker 2 (30:00):
I think who was it one of the one of
the one of the Brennon Choud that's what was. Brennan
Schaud was basically burying him over it, like do you
think that's gonna help you or not? No, it's not
gonna help you, Like you're not that that's not gonna
magically show up on your on your on your next
fight check. Regardless of what happens, I would would have
(30:23):
been getting themselves in a lot of these anti trust situations.
I've been sitting there saying it to Jessica, I want
to see if you feel the same way that we
do about it. Is it you think it's just a
matter of time now before you know, b KFC baron
knuckle in general kind of overtakes that that major role
that that the UFC used to be. They don't have
(30:45):
the superstars that they had five years ago, ten years ago.
They're not developing them. They're they're not they're not they're
not getting them. Nine of the champions are now or
international fighters. There are no American champions, you know. Uh.
For the UFC, I think they have a real problem,
and if they don't do something drastic, real soon, I think,
(31:08):
you know, you know, Jessica and some of some of
the other paranocle fighters are going to take take that
that place as the the premier combat sports promotion. Do
you agree?
Speaker 3 (31:20):
I do.
Speaker 5 (31:21):
For the one reason is that, like like you said,
to all these UFC champions, they're all grapplers, and it's
just like we just saw that last fight that was
a snooze fest.
Speaker 3 (31:33):
I got a shirt for that.
Speaker 5 (31:36):
A lot of people are saying, like it's like, well,
you know what I mean, we could, but that's not
a fight. You just is not a fight. That's a match.
If you can't get punched, that's not a fight. Not
in my opinion, just like wrestling, that's not a fight.
That's a match, you know what I mean, not fighting.
Speaker 2 (31:53):
I mean I don't have a problem with the styles
I don't like because because we're talking MMA at the
end of the day, so like I get it. What
I'm saying is they don't have the exciting stars like
Jeremy Stevens. I felt like it was it was a
star in the UFC. They just never gave him a push.
Speaker 3 (32:07):
Yeah, I agree with that.
Speaker 5 (32:09):
And you know the guy that they had him fighting
to mine, they brought it.
Speaker 3 (32:14):
They just have him fighting the wrong people. They didn't
guide him correctly.
Speaker 2 (32:18):
And that's also like do you have to have a
good matchmaker.
Speaker 3 (32:22):
That's my opinion though, you know what I mean, who.
Speaker 2 (32:24):
Am I opinions here? I'm not like, listen, we're we're
not experts, We're not we're not.
Speaker 5 (32:34):
I just feel like they could have had better fights
for him to build him because he was exciting.
Speaker 3 (32:40):
Man, he's he's a banger, dude. I love his style.
It's fun, it's fun to watch.
Speaker 2 (32:49):
It is it is? Yeah, we see him in a
can't wait to see Jeremy Stevens and Mike Parago at it.
Speaker 5 (32:57):
Yeah, that's gonna be. That's gonna be a good fight.
That's that whole night is stacked. That's like, yeah, yeah,
I mean to see her.
Speaker 2 (33:09):
I mean, obviously we're gonna pull it up and talk
about the big one, right, We're gonna talk about the
big one October. Queen of violence, baby Christina.
Speaker 6 (33:18):
Finally I'll get to shut every doubter up once again.
And also if I who really is the queen of violence?
Speaker 5 (33:26):
But you know she she got the first knockout, which
that painted that painted a target on her back. Now
everybody wants to be the person that knocked out, the
person that got the first knockout, you know what I mean.
Speaker 2 (33:41):
And it's good luck. Christina didn't want nothing to do
with you after you got that knockout, and all of
a sudden, she's she's all, she's all gung ho for
the fight then.
Speaker 6 (33:52):
But she only still wants me went with that lower
weight class. She wants me to cut weight. It's just
stupid to me. It's like, oh, yeah, I'm the queen
of violence, but only if you're one thirty five. Like,
that's just it sounds dumb to me. It just sounds dumb.
But whatever, Just for me to be able to hit her,
I'll I'll cut a little bit of way.
Speaker 3 (34:09):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (34:09):
Maybe then you make her come up and fight at
one forty five to two and you just take them off.
Speaker 2 (34:14):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (34:14):
Yeah, she's not gonna fight. She even told me to
my face she was gonna fight me at one forty.
I can't wait.
Speaker 6 (34:18):
Though, after I weigh in and refuel and get into
market weigh ins, and I'm just gonna be like, hey,
I'm already one forty five, see you in the ring tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (34:29):
Easily will be you easily will be.
Speaker 6 (34:32):
Yep, it's not gonna it's not gonna change anything exactly.
Speaker 3 (34:35):
She's just making you work a little bit harder to
get to wait off. That's all good.
Speaker 2 (34:40):
The only thing Christina's doing right now is just adding
more more fuel to the inferno that is Bernie inside
of Jessica right now because.
Speaker 6 (34:47):
And it's crazy because it's like she thinks she's getting
in my head in a bad way. But that's not
what happens with me when somebody talked, Like if you
look at anyone I've ever had a problem with that
talked smack beforehand, I finished them all in the first round.
Like it doesn't It makes me almost more controlled chaos
because now I'm like hyper focused and vigilant on what
(35:09):
I needed. It's a different I'm calming chaos and you're
creating the chaos that I you know, I just I
do better in So it's like, go ahead, you're burying
your own grave.
Speaker 3 (35:20):
I love it.
Speaker 2 (35:22):
Oh yeah, that's October fourth is gonna be a fun night.
I like Jeremy over Mike. You know, you know, nothing
against against mister Perry. I just think Jeremy Stevens is
probably the the tougher fight for me. I think it's
funny that he's still he's still ducking your boy over there.
He unning from Dave Mondell like like there's nobody, like
(35:43):
like like there's nobody.
Speaker 4 (35:44):
He's crazy because he's saying like he's not scary. He's like,
oh well they fought.
Speaker 6 (35:47):
In MMA, though it's a different ballgame here. And Dave
Mondel is an animal.
Speaker 2 (35:53):
Yeah, picking on Jeremy Stevens, who's fights two way places
under him. We talk about bullies all the time.
Speaker 3 (36:01):
Hey, Jeremy hits really hard.
Speaker 5 (36:06):
Jeremy Stevens his if you fractured.
Speaker 2 (36:11):
Eddy Eddy Eddie, al.
Speaker 3 (36:13):
I told you he was going to break his jaw.
He said, I'm breaking your jaw. Told him, he warned him.
Speaker 2 (36:18):
And speaking of weight bullies, I got to get your
guys opinions on this. You know, this was coming up
press tours, coming up for the Davis.
Speaker 4 (36:30):
I think Mike Tyson said it already.
Speaker 5 (36:33):
I'll tell you what though, I guarantee Tank hits hard,
so hard enough to hurt him.
Speaker 3 (36:38):
So you better, you better. You might find out.
Speaker 2 (36:44):
The rumors that I'm hearing right now. They're still having
problems with the Athletic Commission down there in Alena.
Speaker 5 (36:50):
I understand how it's even legal. Well, they can say
it's the next.
Speaker 2 (36:53):
One that's the problem because of the weight discrepancy.
Speaker 3 (36:56):
Like it's just weird.
Speaker 5 (36:58):
It's an exhibition expition or not, but that's not like
who wants to even see that anyways?
Speaker 2 (37:05):
Like I already said boxing.
Speaker 3 (37:09):
Did you see Tyson? But who's Tyson?
Speaker 2 (37:11):
Oh yeah, I'll pull that ups.
Speaker 3 (37:15):
Gonna be.
Speaker 5 (37:18):
Another fight now Tyson's he's following Jake Paul Swas said,
He's like, all right, I'm just gonna fight this little guys.
Speaker 3 (37:26):
They can't hurt me, and I'll make some money. I
ain't mad at him.
Speaker 2 (37:32):
I'm not mad Mike. That's man. Nor if somebody dumps
a boatload of full cash in front of you telling
you it's gonna be next and you're fighting this that
that knucklehead, and you're just gonna have to deal with
all the all the trash talk. Has it any different
from Jessica fighting Christina? Right now? You're just fighting a
(37:53):
lad male who likes to run their mail. Yeah, it's like.
Speaker 5 (37:56):
It's like a It's like a hybrid of w WE
in real fighting de domination of it, where it's it's
like real but not real, you know what I mean.
They're really punching, but I mean it's just that's the
feel it gets, right.
Speaker 6 (38:13):
Yeah, And it's sad because then they don't know what's
real and what's not real. You know, they think that
mine and her is just show and it's not that
it's not the case with me and her, you know,
it's they want that show though. That's what grabs the fans,
that's what grabs like and that's it's what makes even
better is when there really is bad blood.
Speaker 5 (38:33):
You know what I've been wondering, is we see all
this stuff happening with Roger rampages Son.
Speaker 3 (38:39):
I'm like, this is it real?
Speaker 4 (38:41):
Do that?
Speaker 5 (38:41):
I mean, we saw the videos that looked like a
couple of goods, but also a lot of them looked
like they.
Speaker 3 (38:46):
Were just I'm like, was this all planned?
Speaker 5 (38:49):
Like and all of a sudden it's gonna come out
and all of them are going to be on some wrestling.
Speaker 3 (38:54):
Like I don't know, Like I'm being serious, I'm.
Speaker 2 (38:56):
Like, yeah, I'm glad you brought that up, Like I
didn't know if I really wanted to talk about it,
because I've been talking about last few weeks. From the
stuff I seen, I agree with you. There's parts of
it that looked like it was a work, especially like
after he slammed them. Yeah, the way he was responses
and it looked like like he was moving with him.
Speaker 3 (39:19):
You know, there were a couple that looks super solid.
Speaker 2 (39:21):
Though yeah, I'm not gonna say he didn't land a few,
but like, listen when you're in the heat of the moment.
I also thought it was funny the guy that told
told him told Rod to go get his receipt they
fired him?
Speaker 3 (39:37):
Did they really? Though? Who do we know? That's what
they tell us. I don't know. I don't believe everything
I hear.
Speaker 2 (39:43):
On Definitely not on Facebook. Half half the the sponsored
posts that you see run through your your your timeline,
it's just fake.
Speaker 5 (39:54):
I just sit back and watch things and just try
to grab as much information as like.
Speaker 2 (40:00):
And that goes back to what we were what we
were just talking about, like like when you look at
the combat sports world, like it's all about the you know,
the the beefs, the rivalries. Who could, who can, who
can talk to the most? Is who we're going to
get the most people in to look at them. I
(40:22):
don't blame Jessica for feeling that way, because that's what is.
Speaker 3 (40:27):
It puts us in the seat.
Speaker 6 (40:30):
It does, and you know it, I think it sucks
for us fighters who actually really truly love the sport
and love to grow and love, you know, the whole
aspect of being a true fighter.
Speaker 4 (40:40):
You know, because now we have to do true true
fighting and.
Speaker 6 (40:44):
Show and like all that, like spazzy stuff to make
a name for ourselves instead of just letting our fightings
speak for itself.
Speaker 4 (40:50):
You know, it is what it is. It's how the
world is right now, I get it. But you know,
us real true fighters, we love to fight, you know.
Speaker 5 (41:00):
Yeah, you gotta be good at both now, like she said,
you do. You gotta be able to self promote. You
gotta be able to create.
Speaker 2 (41:07):
I think everyone's trying to copy what Chail Sun and that,
and no one can.
Speaker 3 (41:11):
Oh Chail. That dude, he's so hilarious.
Speaker 5 (41:14):
Man.
Speaker 3 (41:15):
I love that guy.
Speaker 2 (41:17):
The grappling event he just did and he got he
got choked out twice in a matter of two minutes.
Speaker 5 (41:27):
He's like, Yeah, what you do is you just lay
there and you pretend like you're out.
Speaker 3 (41:31):
And then they said and then I'll said, you get him.
He's like I was drinking him, dude.
Speaker 2 (41:38):
He's but also he's he's a real dude too.
Speaker 5 (41:42):
That's why he's an answer for everything, right, He's so
funny with it.
Speaker 3 (41:47):
He needs to be on Saturday Night Live, right.
Speaker 2 (41:49):
His brain neurons just firefairs than most of us when
it comes to just blurt blurting out stuff and and
not just be being obnoxious about it or crazi or layout.
Like he could sit there and just rip you apart
in a matter of thirty seconds and not even you
didn't even really say anything to him. I thought the
(42:11):
back and forth between Jail and Daniel Cormier was absolutely hilarious. Yeah,
like if you've seen some of their some of their interactions,
and yeah, like Chail's one of those rare guys, like
he may not be the best fight in the world,
but he's an entertaining person that you want to hear
what he has to say, what he has to think.
(42:31):
That's what more of these fighters, fighters, athletes, combat sports
sports people should kind of try to want to be
like like, yes, you know you want to be the
best in the world, but you also want to want
to have that that charm where everyone wants to kind of.
Speaker 3 (42:47):
Hear with your show business. It's show business. You gotta
have it all.
Speaker 5 (42:51):
You got to be able to fight, and you gotta
be able to bring eyes to you.
Speaker 2 (42:56):
Yeah. That then you have like people like Kobe Covet
and who just do it so.
Speaker 3 (42:59):
Terribly he's such a great fighter though, it's like crazy.
Speaker 2 (43:04):
He is a very good fighter. He is not an
elite fighter. He is a very good fighter. Kind of
in that same Chail mood. Chail wasn't the best guy,
but oh.
Speaker 5 (43:13):
He was for for four rounds or for almost I
can't believe he did.
Speaker 3 (43:19):
He had that.
Speaker 2 (43:20):
So it's a shame for he couldn't just held on
for what was it more seconds? There was fourteen more
seconds in that round, was it not?
Speaker 3 (43:31):
Yes, but even he shouldn't even have been in that
position like at that point, like, just.
Speaker 2 (43:38):
Stay away from the fact that he took Anderson. He
was the first one. He's the first one to take
him into deep waters. Basically, you know what what Alexander
Gustlson did the John Jones. He was the first person
to kind of really test Anderson in the UNFC. So everyone,
he's literally turned that into a whole career. I give
(43:58):
him all the respect in the world for that. So
and speaking of crazy things and stuff like that, I
wan't even know if you've seen this one, Jessica, your
your father promotion has put had been putting on ice
getting our first female female ice worts flight.
Speaker 4 (44:16):
I did not see that nice.
Speaker 6 (44:18):
My son will be stoked because he's into hockey in boxing.
Speaker 3 (44:22):
So, Jessica, can you ice skate?
Speaker 4 (44:26):
You know, I'm actually not terrible. I can learn how
to though.
Speaker 5 (44:29):
Hey the guy that we met that was Arlovsky's friend,
the Whiz. Yeah, I told him about it and I'm helping.
Speaker 3 (44:36):
Well, he'll do it.
Speaker 2 (44:38):
He was on the answer.
Speaker 3 (44:39):
Steve Wisnowski.
Speaker 5 (44:40):
He was an enforcer for like the Blackhawks and the Island,
a bunch of teams like fourteen years and we got
to hang out with him down at the BEAKFC in
Texas because he was with Honore Aralovski, and uh, that's
what he does.
Speaker 3 (44:54):
That's what he did.
Speaker 5 (44:55):
He beat people up on skates for fourteen Yes, I'm like,
I said it to him.
Speaker 3 (45:00):
It's like, dude, we need to get you in this.
Speaker 5 (45:04):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (45:05):
I think people underestimating how popular the hockey fighting is period.
Speaker 3 (45:11):
That's where we go.
Speaker 4 (45:12):
That's exactly what most Philly.
Speaker 2 (45:15):
I grew up on the broad Street bully. We shoved
down my throat sitting there saying that this was the
this was the greatest hockey ever, and you look at
how it is now like that they still think that's
some of the stuff that's missing from what hockey has
has changed the game. It obviously was being what we've
seen what happened with the with their All Star game.
Basically the first two games that they did their you know,
(45:38):
the Battle of Nations for for their All Stars was
nothing but fights, and it completely at the time enamored
you know the sports world. You know, you got you
had seven seconds were off the clock and then you
have you have three fights. It's a good start to
a game.
Speaker 5 (45:57):
And they get a five minute penalty for it. They're
not like kicked out of the league for the rest
of their life. Yeah, corner and get out here five
minutes and get along.
Speaker 2 (46:07):
I think it's the best thing. Like, listen it, man,
you gotta let you gotta let let the athletes get
their emotions out when it comes to stuff like that,
especially sports football. And the other thing I think about
it is something I was talking about it with Frank Biolo,
is you know another famous enforcer. Uh. It did away
with a lot of the dirty nonsense and in hockey
(46:30):
because you could police it yourself. Yeah, like like you know,
refereated and catch distant catch that you know what next
shift that he's on. I'm going out there and I'm
gonna handle it myself.
Speaker 3 (46:42):
I saw that coming for you.
Speaker 2 (46:47):
And even more so, you know it's it's an important
part here in Philadelphia, as they just hired Andre Petrowski
and uh and Joey Garbarino to to teach their hockey
player how to you know, fight defense properly think things
like that. So, I mean some step you know that
that fighting is kind of going to always be a
(47:08):
part of hockey.
Speaker 3 (47:09):
So it's a violent sport.
Speaker 2 (47:13):
I think it's one of the harder ones you to
play if you think about it, right, Yeah, because you've
gotta first be very not you have to be very
good at ice skating first.
Speaker 3 (47:22):
I mean, how fast do they get going on those skates?
Speaker 2 (47:25):
Not fast? You get some of some of the guys
that used to fly like the rinks aren't that that
big for you to kind of see how fast they
could go.
Speaker 3 (47:35):
Yeah, they got to be doing like thirty miles an hour.
Speaker 2 (47:38):
I would think they're.
Speaker 5 (47:43):
Like taking that and you're getting smashed into the glass
and they throw a forearm at it.
Speaker 3 (47:48):
Oh my god. Those guys are just what hockey used
to be.
Speaker 2 (47:54):
Hockey used to be like kind of the the fun
sport to watch before combats. The combat sports world, m
m A. Bare Knuckle, et cetera has kind of FANPD
their own niche.
Speaker 3 (48:06):
Yeah, so.
Speaker 2 (48:10):
I'm I'm happy to say that, you know, Bare Knuckle
was being involved in that. I like what they're doing
with that. Hopefully we can continue to see that develop.
I know the next event is gonna be on actual ice,
not the synthetic ice, so that that's definitely a plus there.
Two So looking forward to to that that I was
talking about crazy nonsense, right, So I got to bring
(48:32):
this up that happened about a month ago, right, Sean
was suspended for six months for jumping the cage at
the tough Enough of that. Right, So we were talking
about crazy things that we've seen in sporting sporting events.
Has that not been the not just the craziest, the
stupidest you think we've seen from a professional athlete storming
the cage at an at tough enough event, which is
(48:53):
amateur MMA, right? Okay, So what could that that fighter
have said to piss uh two professional fighters too to
get him to get them the run in the cage
and risk fine suspension things of that nature.
Speaker 4 (49:13):
Who knows? Because Sean Strickland has no filter. He has
no filter. He does not give a fuck.
Speaker 6 (49:19):
So I don't know what could offended him, because he
offends people all the time.
Speaker 2 (49:25):
So that's one of the things I dig about him.
It's just you know, his brutal honesty about things.
Speaker 6 (49:34):
But yeah, I feel like it could take a lot
to say something to him that pissed him off, you know, like.
Speaker 3 (49:40):
It's a classic case of.
Speaker 5 (49:43):
I mean, it was just crazy, like I cann't believe
he just reacted before he thought, you know, classic like
he was mad and didn't think.
Speaker 3 (49:52):
I'm sure he regrets it.
Speaker 2 (49:54):
Yeah, I'm sure right now, like he's you know, sitting
at home like, man, well, if I didn't store that
cage like an idiot, acted off of emotion, I could
probably be having a fight right about now.
Speaker 4 (50:05):
Yeah, I don't think. I don't know. I don't see
him giving a ship.
Speaker 2 (50:11):
I don't think overall he gives a ship that He's
probably just thinking, I got once to rest up.
Speaker 3 (50:19):
He's gonna hang out for six months, have some fun.
Speaker 2 (50:21):
Yeah, I'm gonna go gonna go into my next one,
which I think he's gonna be here. He's gonna be
He's gonna be at the White House event. I guarantee it.
That's where he's gonna be fighting next. I may be wrong,
I may be wrong.
Speaker 5 (50:34):
I know Connor wanted to be on that John Day
till John Jones.
Speaker 4 (50:38):
I think everyone wants to be on that cord.
Speaker 2 (50:42):
Want to be. It's gonna be the two hundred and
fiftieth anniversary of you know, of the fourth of July.
They're doing States. It took them, I think, almost a
month to kind of figure out if they logistically could
do it. They were having problems with the cage waiting
too much on the White House long. They probably just
got to replace after long. They're done. But I'm glad
(51:03):
it's happening. I know, I know people you know, regardless
your political views, I could get. I give you left
of your left right, you're indifferent. I don't listen. Uh,
A high level MMA event at the White House on
the fourth of July is I don't know how you
get any bigger than that.
Speaker 5 (51:22):
I know, right, there's not gonna be fans though, I hear, yeah,
I'm sure you're gonna whoever's getting take all gonna be
camped and that that's definitely we say that the pay
per view era is done for the UFC.
Speaker 2 (51:34):
I guarantee you that one's a pay per view.
Speaker 5 (51:36):
Yeah, it's gotta be right, and it's probably gonna be
like one hundred.
Speaker 2 (51:40):
I'm sure he wants the pay per viewer, but I
guarantee you his new his new streaming partner is gonna
be like, absolutely not. They have a deal with what paramount. Yes,
I see one, if not both of them send there
saying we want a piece of that. We want a
piece of that.
Speaker 3 (52:00):
Hi, you can see that too. That's a lot of money, man.
Speaker 2 (52:04):
It's not just a lot of money. It's just the location,
the time of year, you can you can sell special
merch do all kinds of fun stuff with that. I
think that's gonna be that that's gonna be a big event.
I think it will pibbly be. We're gonna be hard
pressed to find a bigger event in combat sports over
you know, the next ten years. Speak again. You know,
(52:29):
two hundred and fiftieth anniversary of the of the fourth
of July, and it's at the White House. No one
has ever ever done a major promo, major combat sports event,
or any type of sporting event at the White House,
So I think it's gonna be an interesting time, regardless
regardless if it if it is UH Connor McGregor on there,
regardless if it is John Jones gonna be in the card,
(52:52):
which Dana White says he doesn't trust him to do
anything with him. So I don't think John gets to
sit there and say like, I don't want to fight anymore,
and then you know, two weeks later the announcement comes
out for he immediately re enters the testing pool. It's like, John,
(53:12):
we love you, you know, outside of of uh you know,
inside the octagon, absolutely one of the best fighters that
we've ever seen. Outside of it, you leave a lot
to be desired and give. You've given your boss a
lot of reasons not to not trust you.
Speaker 3 (53:29):
So I can see this, especially that.
Speaker 2 (53:35):
We'll see what happens over you know what, you know,
the next eight months or so, we'll see how how
it all works itself out. But I would be surprised
to see him on the cart at this point in time.
Speaker 3 (53:47):
I'd be surprised to see him on the card.
Speaker 2 (53:50):
But again, I think Connor, the problem with that I
see is I know he's trying to get out of
his UFC contract. And there's two ways to do that.
It's either the time or you do the fights right.
I think by time, if he doesn't fight, his contract
(54:11):
is up and he doesn't owe him any more fights.
But if he takes a fight with them, then he's
gonna owe him two more. And we've already seen he
wants to do bare knuckle. Yeah, but you know money,
he begs a question for you, right, do you take
that that fight with the UFC.
Speaker 3 (54:29):
You take the fight with the UFC and you get
that money? Yes, come on, that's probably the okay.
Speaker 2 (54:36):
For any other fight. I would agree with you you
think Connor McGregor needs money right now because I but
I think we can all agree with money is the
reason why we haven't seen him fighting as often.
Speaker 5 (54:47):
True, But this is this is like double your net
worth type money, you know, I mean this is different
kind of money.
Speaker 3 (54:54):
Saying like a normal fight.
Speaker 2 (54:56):
There's a different kind of money, different kind of attention.
Speaker 3 (54:58):
And that's want to bring it back. You know, he
wants all eyes on him again.
Speaker 2 (55:03):
I'll say this, you do have to have more than
a handful of US US a versus England fighters. You
have to do it right, not to say you have
to have at least a couple of those matchups.
Speaker 3 (55:19):
I mean, you got to like, why wouldn't you not?
That's maybe they all will be.
Speaker 2 (55:25):
But again I'm gonna say, ask where I believe we'll
see Kayla Harrison and and uh and fight. I'm gonna
stick to that. I think they're gonna they're gonna hold off.
I know Amanda wanted to try to expedite it.
Speaker 3 (55:40):
But who do you got headline in that night? Who
who's the header for that night? That's a tough.
Speaker 2 (55:49):
According to you, It's gonna be kind of so, I mean, is.
Speaker 5 (55:52):
There another name on the roster besides John Jones?
Speaker 2 (55:56):
With that goes back to what we're talking about. All
I named someone on the roster that that that could
well in the viewers can't.
Speaker 3 (56:06):
It's got to be Connor McGregor. It's gotta be.
Speaker 2 (56:10):
Like, what do you do you bring Ronda Rassi out
of out of retirement?
Speaker 3 (56:14):
Yeah, Ronda Rouse, he comes out.
Speaker 2 (56:17):
I mean I think that that that could that could
make sense, especially because I think that she's just about
she was talking about pregnancy, things of things of that nature.
The question you want to leave her kids for that
period of time.
Speaker 3 (56:33):
That's that's a different kind of money. I don't see
her saying no, Yeah, you know what I mean.
Speaker 5 (56:38):
Money talks like we all know you're doing this with
prize fighters here, they're they're not doing this for fun,
They're doing it to make a living. And when you
can have a night that could totally change everything. Yeah,
I mean you do it. I don't see how you
sing no to that, like man, and just to be
able to look back and you know, look at what
(56:59):
you did and your kids see.
Speaker 3 (57:02):
Look what Look what my mom or my dad did.
Speaker 2 (57:04):
That's like event.
Speaker 3 (57:09):
So yeah, you know that makes kids be great.
Speaker 2 (57:15):
Now, Jessica, I gotta get some clarification here. I told
you I was gonna bring this up. So we we
We've seen Christina's post a few you know. Uh, I
don't know. I think it was a few days ago
that you haven't signed a contract. She says, you're all
talk from what I'm here. Still they still haven't given
(57:37):
you an official contract to sign. So yeah, and when
I get one, what was that?
Speaker 6 (57:42):
Yeah, when I get one, I'll sign it. But right
now we don't have one, and I am waiting for one.
I am promised one, So it's gonna happen contract or
not at this point with me, because she's asked for it,
and uh, yeah, it's gonna happen. It's I mean, they
wouldn't have announced it before where the contracts were signed
if they weren't sure, you know what I.
Speaker 4 (58:02):
Mean that it makes no sense. So it's gonna happen.
She's just playing the role, the clout role, you know,
she's getting she's just trying to get views.
Speaker 6 (58:11):
She's just trying to talk her smack like she's the
one that brought it up. She's the one that's been
running her mouth. So she's all talk most of the time.
So I'm more business than I am talk.
Speaker 2 (58:25):
So absolutely no worries. Promotion will get you the fight contract,
and you guys are gonna fight. Well actually, from what
you said, you guys are gonna fight regardless. It don't
matter if it's in the street or in a sanctioned cage.
Speaker 6 (58:36):
To you, no, yeah, no, she's she's overstepped, and uh,
you know, sometimes you just need to be hitting the mouth,
and whether there's a contract or not at this point,
you know, sometimes you just need to be put in
your place.
Speaker 4 (58:48):
And she needs from a lot of people. She needs
to be putting her place.
Speaker 6 (58:51):
Apparently she's just a shitty individual, you know, inside and out.
Speaker 4 (58:55):
She doesn't have She's like a black plague.
Speaker 6 (58:58):
And it's funny how she knows that I haven't signed
a contract, because the only way she'd know that is
from her little wifey And so I don't they already
know that. I'm pissed off about that, Like, it's not
on me. Tried talking to the BKFC, like they'll get
me the contract, but don't put it on me their cupcake,
and your wife needs to learn her place.
Speaker 2 (59:16):
So h like, all right, let let's take ourselves out
of this, right, No contract, that's not on her now.
The fact that she has that information is because because
because her significant other is the is basically the fight
(59:37):
promoter for all the all the female fighters for Bare Knuckles,
So that's conflict of interest. Yeah, But the other side
of that is it'd be where I agree with with
Jessica again, is if there was a contract that was
already given, Christina would have signed it already, right, So that's.
Speaker 6 (59:54):
What Yeah, I guess, I mean, I don't. I don't
know because I don't have someone.
Speaker 4 (59:57):
On the inside whether she has signed or not. Or
what or you know what it is.
Speaker 6 (01:00:01):
I know I haven't received one, so it'd be interesting
how she's received one.
Speaker 2 (01:00:06):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (01:00:06):
I mean it it is what it is.
Speaker 6 (01:00:08):
I'm not worried about it because I believe that it's
gonna happen. But if I'm cutting more weight and it
is what it is, like they're gonna it's gonna be
what I said, it's gonna be in a story, end statement.
Speaker 2 (01:00:21):
Now, one thing I didn't ask you about this. Since
you're cutting the weight, you're going down, you're fighting the champion.
Did you did you answer a bump and pay?
Speaker 6 (01:00:30):
I asked what I thought I deserve, even though it's
I think I deserve more than what I asked for
for this fight. I think anyone who fights for a title,
whether it's whatever, weight class, whatever, I think they should
get six figures flat. I think if you're fighting for
a title, you deserve to be treated like a champion,
and if you're already a champion, that should make the
(01:00:50):
money go up more. Honestly, I mean, I know I
get the whole business aspect of it, as you know, BKFC,
like they're growing, they they're they're I get that, but
to a certain extent, I think that certain fights and
certain people have not been given what they deserve in
this sport, you know, I mean, it is what it is.
(01:01:12):
I think it was the same way with UFC. I
think it was the same way with a lot of
MMA got paid less, you know, than what I'm getting
paid for bare knuckles. So I just I think, you know,
fighting in general, combat sports just don't get paid what
we deserve. But I am not going to alter from
what I originally said. I'm not gonna fight for any
less than that. If they she wants me to cut
(01:01:34):
weight just because she's scared to fight me at my
weight class, you need to pay me.
Speaker 4 (01:01:38):
What I said that and a story in a statement.
Speaker 2 (01:01:42):
I agree with that on many different levels there as
you were talking about, you know, BKFC given title shots.
The fact that Alsio Costakar is fighting for a title
after being extremely average in his MMA career. I think
the fact of where the location of that fight is
is the only reason he's fighting for that title. I
(01:02:04):
love the b KFC. I think they do great in
a lot of things. I think they did themselves a
disservice here.
Speaker 4 (01:02:11):
Yeah, and I'm not saying anything bad about BKFC.
Speaker 6 (01:02:13):
I'm just I, you know, there's just certain things that
I think that need to get better. You know, we're
we're doing a lot for the sport. You know, the
sport wouldn't be there if it wasn't for the fighters
as well. So you know, it's it is what it is.
I'm just hoping it's gonna get better, you know.
Speaker 2 (01:02:33):
But you have to make your stake, stake your claim
and tell them, you know, this is what this is
the boundary, this is where I'm not gonna go, and
this is what I'm willing to accept to do X,
Y and C. I don't think you're asking for any
anything out of the normal that that a normal fighter
should ask for, especially when you paid your dues. You're
the champion, et cetera. You should, you should. You should
(01:02:54):
be getting know the lion's share of what comes in.
Speaker 6 (01:03:00):
Yes, And I'm not asking for an outrageous amount, you know,
I'm asking for what they said that they would give
me with a bonus, you know, so no, just make
it flat. You know, it is what it is, but
just make it flat, Like if you can do it
with a bonus, then you can make the flat amount
of the total amount.
Speaker 2 (01:03:16):
So I don't wrong with that, my friend. As we
talked about before before, you know your your female athletes
don't get paid nearly nearly as much as you do
obviously for people who do pay attention. You know, we're
about to see the w n b A players apparently
are heading towards a lockout after the season because they
(01:03:37):
just can't come to terms on what what the new
pay pay arrangement should be. Uh. I know it's extremely low.
They they haven't they haven't had as big of a
product as as the as the as the NBA is.
But I don't think what they were asking is too
much to ask for. Yes, I understand they're still in
the uh there, they're still there. There's still not not
(01:03:59):
in not in into the red. They're stowing in the black.
So we'll, you know, we'll we'll see what happens with that.
But it's it's not a it's not a new thing
to see.
Speaker 3 (01:04:08):
See.
Speaker 2 (01:04:08):
See you all ladies, you know, have having to voice
your opinion to get you know what, what you've already earned,
at least in my opinion.
Speaker 6 (01:04:16):
Yeah, I mean, if there's somewhere to get that money
for the bonus and stuff like that, then figure it
out for the purse. You know, that's just I mean,
there's ways around it, there's ways to deal with it.
Speaker 4 (01:04:26):
I feel like.
Speaker 2 (01:04:28):
Absolutely before we get ready to wrap this one up, obviously,
one last one last the one Hit Club, guys, make
sure your guys are heading over to uh get slapt
dot com grabbing If not the One Hit Club, obviously,
make sure you're you're grabbing the new T shirt at there.
Uh sure on anything else that that we want to
(01:04:49):
touch on before we uh we wrapped this one up
and uh send us one home for the evening.
Speaker 3 (01:04:55):
You know, just happy to you know, do something like this.
I got a lot of people and you know there,
I'll look at there, she's got the shirt.
Speaker 5 (01:05:03):
Got a lot of people behind this helping, you know,
Tim Sylvie open Doors.
Speaker 3 (01:05:06):
I got a good friend of.
Speaker 5 (01:05:07):
Mine, Sean Manning, that like he helps out a lot
with us, He travels with us.
Speaker 3 (01:05:12):
He like Jessica's met him.
Speaker 5 (01:05:14):
He like is he's like so organized and he like
keeps us on tasks. He's like he's like takes over.
It's like Tim's manager. He makes he makes things happen.
So you know, it's wanted to say thank you to him.
Like Jessica, Man, I'm glad I met her. I went
to UH to get certified as a refendue judge would BKFC.
Speaker 3 (01:05:37):
I was hoping that she was going to be there,
and she was, so I got a chance to.
Speaker 5 (01:05:40):
Meet her there, and and zeb we got to meet
him there, you know what I mean.
Speaker 3 (01:05:45):
So it's like Chris.
Speaker 2 (01:05:48):
Your poster, your pick from Sturgist that.
Speaker 3 (01:05:52):
He has so much fun like when we did with Jessica.
Speaker 5 (01:05:57):
Come, We're just like it's like we man, we just
like get along really well.
Speaker 3 (01:06:03):
And that's why she liked family to us.
Speaker 5 (01:06:05):
Now. Man, she's when when she's done punching people in
the face, she's gonna be doing something with slept.
Speaker 4 (01:06:12):
For sure, for sure. Always. You know, I've got their
back and just like they got mine for sure.
Speaker 3 (01:06:17):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:06:17):
It's like I said, it's rare to see real friendships
like that in the combat sports world today.
Speaker 3 (01:06:23):
So we got.
Speaker 2 (01:06:24):
A word and show. Obviously, Jessica October fourth the talking
finely and.
Speaker 4 (01:06:32):
Can't talk in that ring.
Speaker 2 (01:06:34):
Wow, she can't talk, but she could try.
Speaker 4 (01:06:38):
She's gonna be talking for long.
Speaker 3 (01:06:40):
Yeah's got a lot of power. Jessica's got a lot
of power. She's got a lot of tour have you
seen her working.
Speaker 6 (01:06:47):
People underestimate my grind and they underestimate my power until
they feel it.
Speaker 2 (01:06:52):
Yes, power, that's fighting, and one's gonna underestimate you anymore.
I think it's gonna.
Speaker 6 (01:06:59):
Be you know, maybe.
Speaker 3 (01:07:03):
It's like she's always gonna have a target on her back.
Speaker 2 (01:07:07):
That's just when you're the champion and you're you know,
one of the more recognizable fighters in that in your
in your weight class, in your promotion, You're always gonna
have a target on your back. It's the same. Some
people can handle it. Some people can't, obviously, you know,
like we were just talking about Rando Rassi when she
took her and she just mentally she can't handle losses,
(01:07:28):
and we all seen what happened. She mentally shut down
and she just completely left the sport. I'm not surprised
that anyone who paid attention to her documentaries when she
was coming up, when she lost her bid to be
in the first Olympics that she didn't medal in, she
was gone for three years. Her mother didn't see her
(01:07:49):
for three years because she was just in the show.
Some people don't have that metal thing Jessica everything has
the total package. She has, has the skill set, she's
very personable, she is she is so mentally strong you
could you could throw the world at her. She's gonna
spit it out and have it spitted.
Speaker 6 (01:08:08):
I think I've already had the world thrown at me.
And that's why I'm like my savage when it comes
to rising from the ashes.
Speaker 3 (01:08:16):
She's been her whole fight career for this, for this night, That's.
Speaker 2 (01:08:20):
What I'm saying, Like, I don't think anyone's gonna underestimate
her after this, Like, no disrespect to Christina. I don't
think it's gonna it's gonna last more than a few
I don't. I think she's gonna do what she can
to survive at first and then realize that she's She's
not gonna be able to have the offensive output that
(01:08:40):
she's used to in her fights. And Jessica's gonna catch her.
Whether she whether she stops her with a t KO
or ko is gonna be completely up to how good
how good of a flush of a punchy lands is
on her. But I mean, wait, you know it's again
no disrespect to to Christina. She she's been a great champion.
But this is a different, This is a different Your
(01:09:00):
time is over. So I hope she's been.
Speaker 5 (01:09:05):
Saying flight of the year coming up right here just
because Yeah, I.
Speaker 4 (01:09:10):
Mean, this is the fight that you know, it's to me.
Speaker 6 (01:09:14):
This is like he said, it's everything that I've worked for.
You know, my last fight was everything I worked for
until that moment, and this fight is bigger than that fight,
and this is you know, I'm just gonna keep climbing.
I'm not even close to being I'm just getting started.
Speaker 3 (01:09:28):
Damn right.
Speaker 2 (01:09:30):
Uh, thank you guys. It was definitely a pleasure, you know,
learning learning more about about you, you know, your your business,
you know the connections you've made, uh since doing this Jessica.
You know, you know, it's always a pleasure catching up
where you're uh, picking at you see, seeing where your
(01:09:53):
mind's at with certain things. Uh, I don't know. I
think that pretty much puts an end for tonight's episode.
Anything else you guys want to add before I before
I wrap this one up.
Speaker 3 (01:10:07):
Yeah, I think I'm good. October fourth, see you there, Jessica.
Speaker 6 (01:10:12):
Yeah, thank you for coming, and thank you guys all,
every single one of you guys that has supported me. Uh,
October Forest will solidify everything that you guys know already,
and I'm excited to showcase once again and show the
world who I am. And thank you guys for always
being there supporting me, both of you.
Speaker 5 (01:10:30):
