Speaker 1 (00:01):
We are at episode ninety eight of a show I
created five years ago. I'm James dad Junior, the creator
of this show and the next year episodes are very
special because I gathered many of my voice actors for
a special project for episodes ninety nine and one hundred.
(00:27):
So I wanted just this before we get there, to
say thank you to everyone who's been listening and downloading
the show. It's it was a slow start. It was
born out of my Really Short Story Project, a really
Short story book series which I do on Amazon. There's
still all of them on Amazon. And we were born
out of my audio dramas Just we were we were
(00:49):
it was. It was July twenty twenty. We were on lockdown.
I just want to get more people stuff to do
as we're as we're kind of figuring this out in
the beginning. The first episode was July twentieth, twenty twenty,
and I talked about.
Speaker 2 (01:04):
What is the Really Short Story Podcast.
Speaker 1 (01:07):
The first episode, I read some short stories from my
first book, fifty four Stories of Micro Flash Sudden Fiction
Write one. Episode two, I had my friend Flow a
voice read one of his short stories from book Open Road.
Then I read a couple episodes from my book the
(01:28):
books that were out, I found artists who had short
stories like the House on Mango Street, the story of
an Hour, Helpless, store knobs, and things like that. Then
I created these mini series that were only on here,
and they were fun. In twenty twenty one, I had
(01:52):
the Cousins, a couple episodes of Cousins. It was an
outrageous little mini series. It was two episodes. Uh that
I had Dinner at Mama's. That was fun.
Speaker 2 (02:05):
My first all black cast.
Speaker 1 (02:08):
We had dinner at Mama's, Mama's Message, Mama's mess. That
was fun. I would like to actually I used to
revisit that again. Then there was Phlobo voices entry of
Isn't Izzy? We did as an Izzy one, two and three,
there was now I Forgot. We also did Mama, Oh
(02:29):
my god, we did Mama, We need you? Oh we did.
We did a fourth one. I can't even I said, okay,
but go down there.
Speaker 2 (02:35):
That I did.
Speaker 1 (02:36):
I started this door series and we did the Blue Door,
the Purple Door. I think as far as we gotten
with the doors, and I have some I have some
others I want to do. I really do. I want
to do that. Then we did some. Then we did
(02:57):
uh my book Lost Weight, Found Change. I had Robert
Wraith actually read chapters from it and we did that.
I created a guy I should We visited this one
died to hit Woman. That was a fun I was
of one off I did with my first two person
(03:21):
short story. Then we had Questioning Christmas, which was doug
Hess and his Son and the famous Oh my God,
the song that just will not end. Santa's an Alien.
There's an actual short story, and that was fun. And
then we got to twenty twenty two. I had more
(03:43):
audio actors. We were doing all kinds of stuff, and
you know, so I started spinning off some of the
shows that are now part of the canon because by here,
by this time twenty twenty two, I had, you know,
a Midian higher audio dramas, and we were connecting them
from The Tooth Fairy and the Moor, from Misster Road
(04:06):
and the Clauses and the Kringles.
Speaker 2 (04:07):
And House of Frost.
Speaker 1 (04:08):
So by then we started doing little spinoff that's that
are part of the big larger picture. Like Caleb Kringle.
We gave him a couple of episodes. The Story of Red,
which is my character Amis Sol Road. We had Doctor Floss,
who is from the Tooth Fairy series of Mine, the Gap,
the Uria series. Then by the end of twenty twenty
(04:33):
two we started doing some started doing my first freestyle
short stories where I would just come up with a
story on the flot I got done in a while
and do that again. More spin offs like The Slaves
of Christmas City. The thing was I was able to
take a minor character and give them a little side
story that was kind of fun. The Cane Twins of
(04:54):
Christmas City that was fun also. Then we got Me
twenty twenty three and Matthew the All joins us with
doing Taking on the Store Road, and he had some
ideas of a somewhere called love Politics Medicine, so he
took two short stories prequels over because the show has
(05:18):
never happened yet was still what it al still is.
Doesn't happened yet. We have two really good episodes. Keep
them on your good side, not now, maybe never fun stuff.
Twenty three we're doing more spin offs, Carlos Kane and
Christmas Village California, Candy Cane Summers at Peppermint Winter's related story.
(05:39):
Then I started getting some other writers and we were
writing books together, Lamonica Andrews, Charles Wong, so I started
adding some of their stories.
Speaker 2 (05:48):
They had some original stories on air that.
Speaker 1 (05:54):
In twenty twenty four, I did my first AI generated
story that I tried to see what it was like.
We also talked about the dire's between flash fiction, short stories,
novellas and novelettes.
Speaker 2 (06:10):
Nice.
Speaker 1 (06:10):
That's the That's the year I started actually talking to
you guys. I thought I should. I said that some episolds,
I should come in and say hi to you and
talked about some stuff. I had an unreleased series that
I did on here, Scrabble, the musical The Key, Why
do short stories? I was thinking for you guys and stuff.
(06:32):
Anthony Yposity did a bunch and then we got to
twenty twenty five. He was doing a bunch of these
if they were so successful. Kim Pincil joined us, Jack
Wolf joined us, Lelen and Reevas kushal' holler. They all
do some great stuff and then animated twenty twenty five
and more so, more stuff from I started returning, and
(06:53):
myn and more stuff for me. Read some journal entries
and there you go. So it's been a great journey
doing this I can if you have one hundred episodes.
Speaker 2 (07:04):
Are coming up.
Speaker 1 (07:05):
We around almost right there, and I hope you guys
enjoy the next two episodes that I have coming up
for you guys, if I put a lot of work
into them, and I hope that they resonate or do
what I hope they can do for you to listen.
Thank you for your ears or your ear and listening
(07:27):
to us. These are only available. We don't do them
on YouTube everywhere else. They're just these stories are just
for here, and we're gonna continue doing it. I hope
maybe doing another five years of another one hundred episodes.
It's it's been a pleasure and we're gonna continue doing this,
and I want to and for twenty twenty six. Here's
(07:47):
something If you have a short story and you want
it read on here, I could do that. If you
have a short story and you want to read it,
let's do it. Why not you little something on here?
So I think it's it's gonna be a lot of
(08:09):
a lot more connecting with other people and not just
having my words. But I don't know people's words, you know.
I want I want more, want more to go around again.
Thank you, so much. If this is your first time,
it's your first episode, you get to welcome. Go back
to you, listen a lot of great episodes. Seriously, go
(08:30):
back to the early days. Listen to those mini series
I did. They're fun, we had a great time. You
hear some voices you may know, like Tony Moore and others,
so it's a lot of fun again. I'm James Lott Jr.
Thank you for all of your patronage, and we're here
every Saturday.
Speaker 2 (08:47):
See then,
