(00:49):
Cardinals Versus forty nine Ers preview picks and Predictions and
prop bets show. Only it is a solo show as
I was unable to Things got really busy between me
and Seth this week, between his family and football and
me and other stuff going on, so you'll have to

(01:11):
just listen to me, yap. And I wasn't able to
get Kyle Mattson or Kyle Posey or any other forty
nine Ers contributor to get on the show this week.
And that's all right. The Cardinals are at home this weekend.
Against San Francisco forty nine Ers two of five kickoff
from State Farm State of Arizona, time four or five Eastern.
It marks the return Brock perty and Rickie pearsall for

(01:35):
the forty nine ers, and the Cardinals are a banged
up bunch. We'll talk about more of that, but we'll
start with the forty nine ers, who have begun it
seems to begun to fade a little bit. They are
six and four, but have alternated wins and losses since
they have played the Cardinals when they beat Air, when

(01:57):
they beat the Cardinals sixteen to fifteen, and week three
in the last second field goal with Mac Jones. Since then,
they haven't won two games in a row. So they
started out the season three and zero with the win
over the Cardinals. Then they lost to Jacksonville in Week four.
Brock Purty came back for that game, didn't play, had
a set back, and he's been out ever since. They
beat the Rams in overtime in Week five, then lost

(02:21):
to the Buccaneers thirty nineteen, beat the Falcons twenty to ten,
lost to the Houston Texans twenty six to fifteen, beat
the Giants thirty four to thirty four to twenty four
in Week nine, and then were blown out by the
Rams last week forty to twenty six, and they are

(02:41):
now a game and a half out of first place
in the division, when they were pretty much for the
first half of the season right at the top of
the division, and that they've been helped because of a
fantastic record in the division. They are three and one,
they have beaten They will not lose any head to

(03:04):
head tiebreakers to anyone because they have beaten every NFC
West team at least once. Now they finished their season
against the Rams already splitting those two games. But here's
the other part of that is that if the forty
nine ers can stick around and they're six and two
in the conference, Seattle's four and two of the conference

(03:27):
and the Rams are two and two in the conference,
which means they got a whole bunch of conference games left.
The Rams have been feasting on the AFC so far
this season, and they are the only team with four
division games so far. Seattle has three. The Rams have
only played two games in the NFC West, and the
Cardinals are zero and three. This will be their fourth
one in San Francisco will only have one game left,

(03:49):
and that will come later on in the year against
the Seattle Seahawks. But what's changed with them? The last
time the Cardinals saw the forty nine ers Mac Jonston
mac Joneses had been pretty solid, but what they have
done is turned the ball over consistently and have not
been getting takeaways. So they turned the ball over once

(04:11):
against the Cardinals, they turned the ball over four times
against the Jacksonville Jaguars, didn't turn the ball over against
the Rams and that overtime win, turned the ball over
twice against Tampa, once against Atlanta Houston and the Giants,
and then last week two turnovers against the Rams. And

(04:32):
since that, so since the Cardinals game, and they've only
forced four turnovers, two against the Rams in that overtime game,
one against the Falcons, one against the Sexans, and so
their turnover differential right now is minus seven. Since then,
of course, they've been kind of treading water. They've been

(04:55):
beating the better they've been beating better team, the teams
they're better than, they've been losing the teams that are
somewhat competitive. They've turned into a pretty mid team. But
they've also been doing it with massive amounts of injuries,
especially on the defensive side of the ball. Well, you know,
their their edge presence is gone. They lost Nick Bosa,
they lost their first round pick Michael Williams, who tours

(05:16):
acl Uh. They lost Fred Warner.

Speaker 4 (05:19):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (05:20):
There's basically their two most important defensive players are done
for the season and they've been playing much of the
year without Rock Purty. Mac Jones has played fine, but
he's he's he's been okay. Honestly, mac Jones has been

(05:40):
been solid this year, but like last week against Last
week against the Rams, he had three three and nineteen
yards and three touchdown passes and in one interception, but
they were blown out. Offensively, they've been they've been all right.
If if you look at the points totals they since

(06:06):
the sixteen point output against the Cardinals in the win,
they've gone six, twenty one to twenty six, nineteen, twenty fifteen,
thirty four and twenty six. The defense has been an
issue though. The defense has been an issue because aside
from the game against the Falcons or they held them
to only ten points since the Cardinals game in except

(06:29):
again against except for the Falcons, they have allowed at
least twenty three points in every contest, and so it's
gonna we're gonna have to see how that goes. And
Christian McCaffrey has been everything in their offense. His his
rushing numbers are not efficient this year he's rushing, he's

(06:53):
averaging three and a half yards of carry, but he's
got six hundred and twenty six rushing yards. And then
on top of that, he's got sixty nine catches for
nearly seven hundred yards, so he's already over thirteen hundred
yards from scrimmage. He scored eight touchdowns overall in the
passing in the passing game has been it's been basically

(07:16):
everything through McCaffrey. Because they've they've missed time. They've had
George Kittle miss time, they've had Jowan Jennings miss time.
They've had Ricky pearsall miss time, and peersall will come
back this week. Defensively, in terms of they only have
one interception this year one, they've not been making plays

(07:38):
again on the ball. Renaldo Green has been getting his
hands on passes. He's got eight pass up breakups. And
obviously the sack production isn't there. They've only got twelve
sacks this season, led by Bryce Huffs four. But things

(07:58):
are different. So this is an interesting game, especially with
the small spanial talk predictions later. But you look at
what's been going on, and the forty nine Ers have
dealt with injury after injury. But here's the thing. The
Cardinals have been dealing with injuries too, and the forty
nineers are healthy this week. The Cardinals, with all the injuries,

(08:22):
have not done well. The forty nine ers or six
and four, and if you look at their schedule, like
look at the schedule that they have over their next
four games that the Cardinals, Panthers, Browns a bye, and
the Titans, their next four games are against patently bad teams.
This is a team that is banged up as they are,

(08:44):
could be ten and four going into the final three
games of the year. They're definitely in the mix for
the playoffs. And and really, honestly, if the forty nine ers,
and I mean if the Rams and the Seahawks slip
at all, because of that that conference record and their
division record, the foreign nine Ers could sneak into a

(09:06):
division title. Especially brock Purty coming back. He adds an
element to their offense that that mac Jones does not
give them Mac can Jones can move a little bit,
But brock Purty is Brock Purty is willing and able
and and and the thing that you have to plan
for him is in fact, his mobility, and he will move.

(09:32):
Kyle Madson in his behind it on the enemy lines
is behind it on the lines of responses to me,
uh said that Purty should come back and kind of
mask some of the forty nine ers isters in pass protection.
You have to account for his mobility. Heearsaw's return. Heearsall's

(09:52):
return has been something that has been needed in the
vertical passing game. And that's going to be interesting because
some of the some of the weaknesses that the forty
nine Ers have, the Cardinals don't really offer in strength
and so so yeah, it's it's going to be an
interesting matchup. Let's let's move on. So coming next with
the Residceiver podcast, Best Our Cardinals talking a little whet

(10:13):
's move on and let's talk about matchups and how
the Cardinals and kind of the keys. What are the
Cardinals gonna have to do to win? How do we
see this game? How do I see this game playing out?
That's coming next on Rises Sea Bread The Back of
the Rise of Secret Podcast. The best are Cardinals talking
the talk on the web. I'm here Jess Roots solo
on this show the time to talk about the Cardinals

(10:36):
and the forty nine ers. In terms of matchups. Pass
protection hasn't been great for the forty nine Ers thus far. However,
for a team that struggles in pass protection, they're facing
the Cardinals, team that doesn't do a whole lot in
terms of rushing the passer. And if you look at them,

(10:59):
you look that that Mac Jones wasn't sacked at all
last week, but he's been sacked in arts and the
worst one was against Tampa Bay was sacked six times.
He's been sacked sixteen times in and but here's the thing.
The Cardinals they don't offer much in terms of pass

(11:23):
rushing and they're banged up as well, and so like,
what what are we going to get? Bet Baron Browning
is out, he's in concussion protocol now. Josh Sweat, he's
been producing. He's got eight sacks and twelve quarterback hits.
Kalaias Campbell's got five sacks twelve quarterback hits. But Josh
Sweat has a knee injury. He took a personal day

(11:45):
on Thursday, he had something he has got no Dame
did designation, but you're gonna want to watch him in
that matchup against Trent Williams or or their right tackle
as well to see how that at how that plays out.
But there's no Baron Browning and this week, which means

(12:06):
we're gonna see more z Avon Collins, more Jordan Birch, maybe
Xavier Thomas. It could mark the return of b Jojo Laurie,
which would be an interesting thing. Of course, the Cardinals
are also banged up on the defensive line. Walter Nolan
and Darius Robinson are both questioned before the game. They
don't have Will Johnson, though Max Melton returns and so

(12:29):
they will have some help in coverage. But also here's
the one to watch. So the Cardinals did a really
good job. The Cardinals did a really good job against
Christian McCaffrey in Week three. It was arguably McCaffrey's worst

(12:50):
game that we've had this year. And we look at
and a lot of that is McCaffey had the drops.
Mac Wilson had a fantastic game. Uh now he ended
up I guess you look at McCaffrey, he's like he
had a good game. Uh that's actually actually not that great.

Speaker 4 (13:10):
Now.

Speaker 3 (13:11):
He did have the drop, so he but fifty two
rushing yards on seventeen carries, but ten catches for eighty
eight yards. He ended up having the critic key. They
stopped him until they didn't happen until they needed to
stop him, and then they didn't because he had those
those plays on those on the final drive. But he
ended up with with one hundred and forty total yards
from scranges. I'm thinking, oh, they kept in the check.

(13:31):
They didn't. They didn't do that at all. They just
kept him out of the end zone. They kept him
out of the end zone in that game. And and
they're gonna have to do it with Cody Simon as
they're as they're starting. My linebacker, King Davis Gaither has
not been particularly great. The Seahawks ran all over the

(13:52):
Cardinals last week. There's there's no other way around it.
Zach Charboney, who had been base, who had he had
eighty three yards on fourteen carries. Kenneth Walker had sixty
seven yards on fourteen carries. They combined for one hundred
and fifty rushing yards. And then a dude named George
Hallani had thirty one yards and a touchdown as well.

(14:15):
So the you know, first and foremost the matchup we're
gonna have our eyes on is how Christian McCaffrey does
against the Cardinals front seven and namely Cody Simon. If
they're gonna match up the same way Mac Wilson was
lined up against him, was the guy in coverage most
of the time against McCaffrey. So how is that gonna

(14:35):
look with Cody Simon the rookie, That's a that's a
one to worry about. We're also gonna want You're also
gonna have fun watching Ricky Piersall against Max Melton and
Carrott Williams. As for the call on the Cardinals side,
with Fred Warner being out, big game could be coming

(14:55):
for for Trey McBride. And here's the other factor that
we Trey McBride might get eighty five targets, not literally,
but with no Marvin Harrison, no Zay Jones, the number
one receiving target, well, the number one receivers now Michael Wilson.
Michael Wilson's a nice player, but he is far from dominant.

(15:16):
The Cardinals receiving trio is gonna be Michael Wilson, Greg
dorts A and Xavier Weaver that is not. And then
you're gonna have Andre Bachelly as as another guy, So
expect a lot of two tight end stuff and with
Bam Knight. I don't know. I don't know what the
Cardinals are going to do offensively. Now, granted they aren't.

(15:39):
The forty nine Ers aren't great defensively, they are not. However, however,
what are the Cardinals going to do offensively? Who are they?
Like Trey McBride against de Winters, that's gonna be. That's
gonna be kind of critical. How dominant can McBride be?
And can the Cardinals keep Jacoby Brissett upright set? The

(16:04):
forty nine Ers only have twelve sacks on the season,
but Jacoby Verssett's been sacked eighteen times in four games,
been hit forty five times, and that kind of has
been the story here. You're gonna watch the interior, the
Cardinal's interior rush against you see Kleis Campbell against the

(16:29):
forty nine ers interior offensive line. Diamadar lenor their number
one cornerback for the forty nine ers might miss the game,
might but again, the Cardinals don't have they don't have
the receivers to really exploit that this week. So they like,
you've got a forty nine Ers team that has some

(16:52):
issues in pass protection, but they're playing against the Cardinals
who don't offer a pass rush. They haven't been they
haven't a good pass rushing team, but the Cardinals have
been awful in pass protection. So and they don't run
the wall, they don't run the ball particularly well. The
forty nine Ers might be missing their top cornerback, but

(17:14):
the Cardinals are missing two of their top receivers, and
so yeah, this is going to this is gonna be
such an interesting matchup to see how things go overall,
we look at how we look at San Francisco's defense.
They are they are eleventh in yards on offense, but

(17:37):
twenty third in points, so it is a far more
efficient offense than it is productive. They're middle of the
ground in points below average and yards, and they're a
middling team in terms of rush defense. But here's the thing.
The Cardinals don't offer much in the much in the

(17:58):
run game either, so not much. You can not much
you can really hang your hat on there. So kind
of the keys, what are the Cardinals gonna have to do.
They have to they have They can't turn the ball over.
Their offense is not built to be able to withstand turnovers.
They got to protect so somehow, somehow they need to

(18:19):
get the ball out quicker more quickly with Jacoby Brissett,
and somehow, I think the name of the game is
going to be on offense. If they can keep up offensively,
they can sneak this game, because I honestly don't see
them being able to do much defensively against the forty
nine ers with with Brock Purty back, with Ricky Pierce

(18:39):
all back, with George Kittle in the lineup, with Christian McCaffrey.
Especially when when you're missing, when you're missing Burn Brown
and you're missing you're missing Will Johnson, you're missing Mac Wilson.
You might be Will missing, Walter Nolan and Darius Robinson,
and so it's it's tough. So let's go. Let's talk preview,

(19:00):
who are and predictions that's coming on next on the
Rise of seret podcast, the best our Cardinals talk in
the web. Time to time to move on and talk
about predictions that's coming next on riseups You read We're
back on the Rise of Secret podcast The Best Our
Cardinals Talk on the web me talking about the Cardinals

(19:20):
and forty nine Ers matchup. Now we move to the predictions.
Interestingly enough, the Cardinals are three point underdogs. This is
a weird game in terms of that that the forty
nine Ers aren't favored by more, but this is a
banged up team that seems like that. Things feel like
for the forty nine Ers they're almost unraveling, but maybe

(19:40):
with the comeback of of Pearsall and Purty things will
amp up offensively. And the Cardinals you can't just you
can't trust at all. That said, eighty nine percent of
the handle on the money line is backing the forty
nine Ers, and eighty six percent of the on the

(20:00):
spread also back the Niners to cover the spread. I
believe that the forty nine Ers will also win and
cover the spread. But here's the interesting part that they
have sixty percent of the bets are on the under. Now,
the Cardinals offensively have been putting up twenty two plus
points a game since since Yakobe Prissette took over. They

(20:24):
put up twenty seven, twenty three, twenty seven, and twenty
two points in those four games. However, the defense, the defense,
aside from the fort game against the Cowboys, so we
look at you look at they gave up. They gave
up thirty one of the Colts, they gave up twenty
seven to the Packers, and they gave it forty four.

(20:48):
Although technically thirty of those points came. They gave up
forty four to the to the Seahawks. All those fourteen
of those points were scored defensively, so thirty points defensively.
So the forty nine ers who have they have Christian McCaffery,
They've got Brock Purty coming back, they got Ricky piersoll back.

(21:08):
If the Cardinals can simply score, I think they'll be okay.
But I think this is I think this is going
to be a shootout, but one that's not going to
be particularly close. I think the forty nine Ers will
will win. Can it won't be a one score game.
I'd say this is going to be a thirty four

(21:30):
to twenty four forty nine Ers win. I think the
Cardinals defense does isn't stopping anybody, and I think the
Carls will be able to move the ball and so
they'll be that. But it'll be kind of the hopeless,
hopeless type of situation. So that's interesting. It was a
sixty percent around the under under forty eight and a half.
I don't know why why that is. The Cardinals have

(21:53):
had high scoring games in their last four, excluding the
twenty seven team winning with doubt Cowboys, and the Cardinals
don't offer much defensively, and so I like the over
in this game. I like the I like the forty
nine ers to win, to cover and to I'm taking
over forty eight and a half. And in fact, in fact,

(22:16):
now if if we want an alternate total that offers
a little bit more, that offers a little more in
terms of an alternate, since I think it'll be high scoring,
do to.

Speaker 4 (22:28):
Do to do full game, both the alternate, looking for
alternate totals full game.

Speaker 3 (22:42):
What I want to put it at is if we
can go over fifty and a half and that lines
things up to plus one ten and so you know,
you can go with the over forty and a half
of minus one ten and that that's your standard. But
if you want to make it get a little bit

(23:02):
more value, and I'm saying thirty four to twenty four, uh,
I want to push that over fifty, so you can
get over fifty at plus one oh five. You add
the extra hook at fifty and a half, you get
plus one ten. If you want to go a little
bit more, if you're going with me and I say
thirty four to twenty four, which gives us a fifty eight,

(23:23):
you could ratchet that up all the way to over
fifty three and a half just to give yourself a
little play and get plus one fifty five odds. And
then in terms of the spread, since I've got the
car and so it's a four, it's a it's a
three point spread at minus one fifteen, three point favorites
for the forty nine ers. If we push that to

(23:46):
six and a half point favorites that they win by
a touchdown, which I think the forty nine ers one
they're gonna win by at least a touchdown plus one fifty,
And that's where you get some you get you get
your value there, and so you take forty nine ers
in mind is six and a half on the alternate
spread and get plus one fifteen. Now, in terms of
player props, this is the interesting one to look at.

(24:10):
If we looking at the rushing numbers, first sixty eight
and a half for Christian McCaffrey. I like the over
and now. Granted McCaffrey has now if we look at
his rushing totals this season, he was held to he
was held the thirty yards last week, but he added

(24:33):
sixty six receiving yards. His rushing production has been middling.
I mean he only has so the season over he
had sixty nine sixty nine yards against on twenty two carries.
Only twice this season has he gone over. Has he
had over sixty eight yards? That's it. That's only twice

(24:55):
this season. Is this the game that I think it happens?
And so that's not my favorite. If you want to
put sprinkle just a little on that and take his
over sixty eight and a half at minus one fifteen
and then bump it up on the alternate spread on
the alternate rushing yards at seventy five plus and get

(25:18):
plus one oh five, don't do a lot. I don't
love that. But I think with the injuries the Cardinals have,
I think he's gonna have a big game. You know,
you know I love kicking props, and so you can
go one of two ways for this. You can go
one of two ways for some plus odds. Now I

(25:38):
have the Cardinal scoring twenty four points, which means that's
only one field goal if you like Chad Ryland, So
this is this is This is a good value play.
This is a value play. Even though I don't predict
two or more field goals, I think this is still
a good bet. And it's you can get Chad Ryland
over one and a half field goals at plus one

(25:59):
oh five. Or if you like my my score like
you said, to twenty four points and think that they
can score three touchdowns, you can get even better odds
over two and a half made extra points at plus
one fifty. I think those are fantastic. Honestly, I think
they are fantastic. Gods to go either way on those

(26:22):
now receiving props receptions made, Okay, Trey McBride, seven and
a half receptions now, Trey Trey McBride, I think he's
he had You can count on him to have at
least at least five because he's had all of that
for it seems like forever. But he's coming off a
big game against Seattle. He is, and okay, to do

(26:47):
to do? Let me pull up Trey mcprize stuff but
with no Michael, with no one Harrison, with no Zay Jones, Like,
who are who are they going to throw to? And
so give me over seven and a half receptions from
McBride at at minus one point fifteen. His his yardage

(27:11):
total is seventy seven and a half. Give me one
hundred plus on McBride for plus one point eighty. I
like George Kittle over forty nine and a half yards.
Michael Wilsonson's only set at forty three and a half yards.

(27:32):
But I don't know. I don't know if I like
that one. It's it's really that one's rough. I don't
like it. I don't like that one. Bam Knight, you
can get him at over two and a half receptions
at plus one thirty. I like that one. I'm surprised

(27:53):
there is not more. There aren't more receiving props for
some of the Cardinals players like Elijah Higgins and no,
they've got Greg Dorts over two and a half receptions,
but it's only minus one. It's only minus one seventy
five odds. So don't don't go with that unless you
think he's only gonna have two catches. I think he's
gonna have more than that. But if you think two

(28:15):
catches is his max, you can get under two and
a half for plus one thirty. But I think I
think Jacoby's gonna try and spread the ball around a
little bit, but they won't have big numbers. But Bam Knight,
I like over two and a half catches at plus
one thirty. Michael Wilson over three and a half is
minus one eighty five. I don't like that. I don't

(28:36):
like that, But give me Christian McCaffrey over five and
a half receptions at minus one ten. Those are really
basic odds. And then let's look at the passing. Let's
look at the passing props. Over one and a half
touchdown passes for Jacoby Prissette is minus one ten, so
it's nothing, nothing fancy there. I think Jacoby throws a pick,

(29:04):
so plus one ten for over one over half an
interception for Jacoby percent and if we go past attempts,
they're both both are set at thirty three and a half.
I think the Cardinals are going to have to throw
the ball a lot. That said, it's not great odds
at minus one thirty five if you want to parlay
that with something else, I do like this one over

(29:30):
twenty two and a half completions for Jacoby percent for
even money plus one hundred. I like it. I do.
I like that one. And in term of touchdown scores,
I mean, Christian McCaffrey's a lock at minus twenty two
eighty five. That's that's awful. But give me value value
in this one. Give me Ricky Piersoll for plus two
hundred and give me you can, like if you think

(29:57):
Jacoby percent can if they're going to get a nah,
not going to do that like he had the rushing
touchdown last time. But give me Elijah Higgins a plus
win eighty five to seventy five. Elij Higgins aplyes five
seventy five. Because McBride's at minus one fifteen. So that's
not a great, that's not honestly, that's not a great.
That's not a great. Best no grad odds for touchdown scores.

(30:20):
And so what I've got, I've got the Cardinals losing
thirty four to twenty four. So take the car the
forty nine ers to win to cover for the over
to cash, and then I've given you a number of
prop bets that you might like. And with that we'll
wrap up this edition of the Rise of Here podcast.
