Speaker 3 (00:53):
Oh, that's the name of the show.

Speaker 2 (00:54):
For being honest, we can't do that. That's that was
mine and Matt's previous Facebook live show many many years ago.
It was day Live and we would watch bring Matt in, wait,
bring mad we talk about this. We would watch street
beefs and live react to us watching street beefs.

Speaker 3 (01:12):
That's awesome.

Speaker 1 (01:13):
Actually, Hume Day Live was an absolute gym and uh
a vibe. As the kids would.

Speaker 2 (01:20):
Say, it was what it was.

Speaker 1 (01:23):
This was.

Speaker 2 (01:24):
This was the not ready for primetime Matt Elkins. I
had to constantly look at him and go, dude, you
can't do that on TV.

Speaker 3 (01:33):
What is TV anymore? Really?

Speaker 2 (01:35):
Well, you can't even do some of this stuff he
was doing on the internet.

Speaker 3 (01:38):
That's true, Matt Elkins. He's here as well, Matt, How
are you very well?

Speaker 1 (01:43):
And all my best behavior?

Speaker 3 (01:45):
All right?

Speaker 2 (01:45):
That's TJ. Maybe I missed it, but I feel like
you didn't call me the Man who Knows or him
the Mouth of the South.

Speaker 3 (01:52):
Sorry, the man who knows the Mouth of the South.
I mean that actually works, the Mouth of the.

Speaker 2 (01:58):
I want a brand new I want to brand new intro.
We don't have to go through the whole song and
dance again. All right, Brad, you gotta give me a
proper intro and then you're gonna get proper I want
to I want the full t Genie. You know what
I'm saying.

Speaker 3 (02:10):
Darn Ja, Here we go. You ready? Three? Two one, Hey, everybody,
Welcome to the Rounds Podcast, the number one podcast in
the world. I am t J. DeSantis, along with the
Man who Knows b mac Brandon mccatherine. We were flanked
by the Mouth of the South. His name is Matt Elkins,

(02:31):
and we appreciate you joining us on the Rounds podcast better.

Speaker 2 (02:35):
Oh dude, way better. I like when you said that
I was flanked by Matt Elkins.

Speaker 3 (02:38):
Yeah, well I said, you're flanked by the mouth of
the South Matt Elkins.

Speaker 2 (02:42):
Yeah that was good, all right. I like where this
is going.

Speaker 1 (02:45):
Yeah, you did that second one like you weren't wearing
a shawl.

Speaker 3 (02:48):
I mean it's.

Speaker 2 (02:51):
That's thank you, Matt TJ. Are you wearing a shawl?

Speaker 3 (02:57):
I'm wearing my security blanket because it's freezing in my
studio to day.

Speaker 1 (03:02):
What I'm not sure if you're just colder, if you're
about to open up a bank, you know, brother.

Speaker 3 (03:09):
Fine, I'll be told the rest of the show, shivering.

Speaker 2 (03:15):
Throw we bullied him, and to throw in his little
blanket off his little baby shoulder.

Speaker 3 (03:20):
I'm gonna show. I'm gonna show my claviicals. I've lost
so much weight that my wife said you feel a
little clavically, which I don't know if is a compliment
or the worst thing that anyone's ever said to me.

Speaker 1 (03:33):
Brother, If you put those bad boys out on display,
it's gonna get the people going.

Speaker 2 (03:37):
You know what, I need to wear one of those
EBI Bulls tank tops.

Speaker 3 (03:41):
Yeah, well, the guns, the guns.

Speaker 2 (03:44):
Can we do just moving forward? Can one of our
segments just be TJ wearing a tank top and me
and Matt talking about what he looks like for like
just two minutes.

Speaker 1 (03:56):
We could just show tank tops on him and yeah,
tank top each bank.

Speaker 3 (04:03):
At least my eb I twenty three custom made bulls
Jersey has DeSantis on the back and not mccaffrein.

Speaker 2 (04:11):
Dude, Yeah, it's okay, though it makes it special. I mean, listen,
I'll never I'll never understand why somebody even tries to
say or write my last name. Like the the word
bmac exists for a reason. You know what I'm saying.
It's not because it sounds cool. It don't sound cool.

(04:31):
It's because I can't say mccatherine.

Speaker 3 (04:35):
I still don't think you're saying it right.

Speaker 2 (04:36):
Yeah, well I'm not saying I'm not saying it right.
It's mccauchran.

Speaker 1 (04:43):
No thh in there at all.

Speaker 2 (04:46):
Could you imagine growing up in Speak Alabama somebody says, hey,
what's your name, and you go, I'm Brendan mccauchran. You
can't do that.

Speaker 3 (04:58):
When I call you using Siri, B mac, I have
to say, call Brandon mccagarin. The only way it gets through.

Speaker 2 (05:06):
No, here's the new way it gets through. Call b Mac.

Speaker 3 (05:09):
Yeah, but I can't put you in my phone as
B MAC.

Speaker 2 (05:11):
And you don't know if I'm gonna have the sunglasses
on or not.

Speaker 3 (05:14):
That's what I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (05:15):
That's a good point, because actually B Mac just has
the sunglasses. This is the man who knows.

Speaker 3 (05:21):
Right. Can we see Brandon mccatherine for a moment and
see that the transition? What happened? No?

Speaker 2 (05:28):
Nah, fair enough, Okay, let's let's try it here. Let's
try that, all right? All right, Well, I'll leave the
I'll leave the hat on for now. Okay, let's go
from Let's go from Brandon. We'll just try this on
the fly. Here, let's go from Brandon to b MAC.
All right, you ready?

Speaker 3 (05:48):
Here we go? All right?

Speaker 2 (05:50):
Ready, Hey everybody, Hi, that's my line.

Speaker 3 (05:55):
By the way, Hey, everybody, it's me.

Speaker 4 (06:00):
I just I want to show y'all what happens when
I make the transition from Brandon to B MAC. Okay,
watch this. I'm gonna put on these magical sunglasses ready, one, two, three.

Speaker 2 (06:18):
And suddenly I'm transformed into B MAC.

Speaker 3 (06:21):
Did I just call a nine? Hundred number by accident.

Speaker 2 (06:24):
Yeah, uh huh, oh man, it was gone.

Speaker 1 (06:27):
Dude, you're about to get a chatting to you. Brother.

Speaker 3 (06:32):
I think I'm on my first ninety nine cent minute,
and now each edition will be one ninety nine.

Speaker 2 (06:38):
We'll see what happens. All right, Well, you and I
are to change.

Speaker 3 (06:43):
You and I are fresh off a crazy weekend in
Mexico City. Be maac are Mexican fight fans not the
best fans in all of combat sports.

Speaker 2 (06:52):
Oh, it's no doubt about it. I'll tell you. What's
not the best thing in combat sports though, is the
water you brush your teeth with in Mexico City. Because
your boys struggling. Since I got home struggling.

Speaker 3 (07:05):
Uh, you and I both didn't think it was Wednesday today,
which is not a good sign because that is the
day we do the rounds.

Speaker 2 (07:12):
Well, my entire day yesterday was taken up in the toilet,
so I pretty much lost Tuesday. Tuesday's gone with the wind,
as they say where I'm from.

Speaker 3 (07:23):
Too many tacos, too.

Speaker 2 (07:25):
Many, too many tacos on the dance floor, that's all right.

Speaker 3 (07:29):
Saturday night we were at the UFC, which, by the way,
speaking of tacos, and food that will not make you sick.
Shout out to our friends over at Godfather Jerky Chips.

Speaker 2 (07:42):
Hold on, dude, I'll keep regular. What was that? What
was that transition?

Speaker 3 (07:46):
I'll keep your regular?

Speaker 2 (07:50):
Can we just go back to me real quick? I
just want professional say say that line one more time.

Speaker 3 (07:57):
T j uh I said, speaking of food that will
keep you regular, Shout out to our friends at Godfather
Jerky Chips.

Speaker 2 (08:07):
Oh Keeling, I even gave you like a long setup. Dude,
what are you doing over there?

Speaker 3 (08:13):
I was got spot your mania over there?

Speaker 2 (08:16):
What does he do? What do you do? Just honestly,
what were you doing?

Speaker 5 (08:19):
That's slightly distracted?

Speaker 1 (08:22):
Production team was picking burgers?

Speaker 2 (08:24):
Were you on the Instagram? Were you probably?

Speaker 3 (08:28):
He's probably trying to get the logo off for Godfather
Jerky Chips.

Speaker 2 (08:31):
I was.

Speaker 5 (08:31):
I was checking the stream deck the logos there there
you guys.

Speaker 3 (08:35):
Yeah, I was.

Speaker 5 (08:36):
Checking the stream deck to see if the secondary camera
was ready for him to make a valid point.

Speaker 3 (08:41):
But mmmm, so it's my fault.

Speaker 2 (08:44):
No, no, no, no.

Speaker 1 (08:46):
We're gonna blame it on the reels.

Speaker 2 (08:49):
Good lord, all right, I don't know why we even
do this show.

Speaker 3 (08:53):
Use code B Mac and save twenty five percent.

Speaker 2 (08:57):
Can I say I had to. I had to send
a message to my boy god father Jerky on Instagram
the other day. I was like, hey, we ate it all,
we need more.

Speaker 1 (09:06):
He's like, I've yet to taste these here black pepper,
Godfather chips.

Speaker 2 (09:13):
Well, and I'll tell you the truth from that black
Pepper is fantastic. It's all about that lemon taryokee lemon
lemon taryoche.

Speaker 3 (09:26):
That sounds like it would make me have your Tuesday.

Speaker 2 (09:30):
No, it's so good, dude, Listen.

Speaker 1 (09:32):
That sounds like sign me up twice.

Speaker 2 (09:35):
They are so good. I like them because they're crunchy.
You know what I'm saying. I don't really like beef jerky.
If I'm being real, like, oh, what do you what?
Do you want some beef trip? And then you got
to like chew it and rip it and it's too
much or even worse. It's like shaped like some sort
of tiny Viena sausage and it's got that texture to

(09:56):
hate that kind of beef jerky.

Speaker 3 (09:58):
Did you just say Viena?

Speaker 2 (10:00):
Well, I'm again, I'm from the country, dude. I saw
it my dad, So that's the way my dad always
said it. Vy because he's always trying to be funny. Okay,
you know what I mean, and so now I just
I'll just say it like that.

Speaker 3 (10:15):
You know what, I don't care. I can't be this cold.
I gotta put the shawl back, all.

Speaker 1 (10:22):
Right, Sausage behavior right there, brother.

Speaker 3 (10:28):
Shut your mouth of the South. Come on now.

Speaker 2 (10:30):
Well, the thing is the voina sausage is a manly
is a manly gesture. Because my dad would go out hunting,
he'd go out fishing, he'd taking my can of vain
of sausages.

Speaker 1 (10:41):
Sage is what I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (10:44):
If there's ever been a phrase that describes t Genie
more perfectly, I don't know it.

Speaker 3 (10:51):
I feel like a cold sausage right now.

Speaker 2 (10:54):
Listen, dude, you look like a cold sausage.

Speaker 3 (10:57):
How dare you? I've never looked better in my life
than I do right now, But you were glowing.

Speaker 1 (11:03):
TJ. I'll say it again. All right, you got that
suit on, put them shades on, they get they throw
that front light on. Brother, you're looking fantastic. You put
them clasicals out. I'm telling you some of them. You're
gonna start getting the DMS.

Speaker 2 (11:16):
Get bulls Jersey flexed.

Speaker 1 (11:18):
Your old Lady's gonna be you know, keep them classicals
put away.

Speaker 3 (11:22):
You know, next week I'm wearing I'm wearing the jersey.

Speaker 1 (11:27):
Next week you start looking too handsomely.

Speaker 2 (11:30):
And if you wear that jersey, yeah, and I have
to look at I guarantee we won't release a video
version of this podcast. Gotta be the worst possible thing
we could do for our viewership is to put is
to put your claviicals on display.

Speaker 3 (11:46):
All right.

Speaker 2 (11:48):
I generally feel the more of you we can have
covered by cloth, including like if we just need to
put a paper bag over your head or something like that.
It's just it messes the audio up. It actually helps
the vision holes on the podcast quite a bit.

Speaker 1 (12:02):
Hey, I put him out there, give the people what
they want.

Speaker 3 (12:06):
I tried to just rock radio, and then radio turned
into television and I hate the Internet.

Speaker 1 (12:12):
So we're glad to have You know.

Speaker 2 (12:15):
What's ironic is you look like the dude amongst us
who loves the Internet the most. You know what I'm saying,
Uh yeah, you look like every meme about a dude
sitting in his mom's basement talking on talking trash on
the internet. You you look like every person that's been
accused of being a basement dweller on the shirt dog

(12:35):
for I.

Speaker 3 (12:36):
Don't look like that guy. I don't know why I
woke up today. I don't deserve this.

Speaker 2 (12:42):
Guys saying you deserve it. It just is what it is.

Speaker 3 (12:44):
Okay, at least you acknowledge that.

Speaker 1 (12:47):
It's definitely the blanket over your shoulders. Brother, You know
what I'm saying. It's it's what is it now? What
we're in April? Brother? Yeah, you're in southern California. Uh
huh open a wind, brother?

Speaker 2 (13:01):
Uh?

Speaker 3 (13:02):
Right now in southern California. Let me give you the
weather update.

Speaker 2 (13:06):
It's degrees what Why are we doing a weather update
television right now?

Speaker 3 (13:17):
I would love it if if this roasting actually made
me warm, But it doesn't.

Speaker 2 (13:23):
You look like a roasted marshmallow.

Speaker 3 (13:25):
To be honest with you, I look like an untouched marshmallow.
I'm so pale white, but I digress. Let's uh, you
look like.

Speaker 2 (13:32):
The state puff marshmallow man had a bad weekends hungover
you like you?

Speaker 1 (13:38):
You look more like you live in Boston. In southern California, brother,
it's Boston.

Speaker 3 (13:42):
If you guys don't stop, there.

Speaker 2 (13:44):
Will be like you actually look like you're from Baldston.

Speaker 3 (13:49):
Hey, did you see that uh thing I sent you
where we grow hair live on the Fight Pass Invitational.

Speaker 2 (13:54):
Yeah. And you know what, dude, I was excited to
see you make your first little for a into AI.

Speaker 3 (14:00):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (14:00):
That was.

Speaker 2 (14:01):
That was cute. I could tell you use like the
most quickly googleable and free version of whatever that was.
It was absolutely atrocious, but it made it cute.

Speaker 1 (14:14):
It gave me Wayne's World vibes.

Speaker 3 (14:16):
Somehow, you called me cute, which should be a compliment,
but it's the biggest insult of this roasting.

Speaker 2 (14:21):
I think you know, you could take it however you want.

Speaker 3 (14:25):
Yeah, can we just get to some content here?

Speaker 2 (14:30):
I feel like, dude, I'll be honestly, I feel like
that was that was the best content. I feel like
the show is only going to go down from here.
I honestly, I think the show would be infinitely better
if it was just let's just bomb and roast TJ
for the entire show, and then we open up the
chat and the comments and we let them roast you too,

(14:51):
and then we have like a call in segment where
people call in and roast you, and then we have
like a talk to Rock unhinged mode where he will you,
t J. I feel like that's what you should transition to.

Speaker 3 (15:05):
That sounds like the series finale of the Rounds. If
you're asking me.

Speaker 2 (15:09):
Oh yeah, I'm not asking you, though. I think we're
just gonna make that move.

Speaker 1 (15:15):
I think that we should go. We should bring back
the the Street Beasts from the Hume Day Live with
Vultron episodes. Those are that was my favorite part of
the whole thing, Like the Name Game, brother, the people,
they gotta we gotta bring back the Name Game. You know,
TJ's gonna TJ is gonna bring a sweater next time.
We're gonna bring back the Name Game and everyone's gonna

(15:37):
be happy.

Speaker 2 (15:38):
You know, I'm not opposed to it. If this, maybe
we have a segment each week where we just watch
one Street Beefs, not the whole, not the whole fight
card like we used to do.

Speaker 3 (15:55):
You watch the whole fight card of Street Beefs.

Speaker 1 (15:57):
No, we were coming with like three three highlight It's
like three solid, you know, roastable, interesting, you know, the
famous Shinnagami. Shout out to Shinagami, he's probably still out there.

Speaker 2 (16:09):
And then we had to the other thing. We had
to have nicknames for the guys, so we had to
give them their own nicknames.

Speaker 6 (16:17):
And we would stop the show and then ride them
on a board and reveal them, and then we would
watch the fight and laugh hysterically at some of the
some of the characters.

Speaker 1 (16:30):
My favorite good.

Speaker 3 (16:30):
Time anytime you're laughing at somebody, but me sounds like
a good time right down, it's not feeling like a
good time.

Speaker 1 (16:39):
Let's talk about bubble, all.

Speaker 3 (16:42):
Right, Let's talk about the UFC. Carter went down at
CDMX Arena. Brandon Marina victorious. He name him his decision.
Over five rounds, he defeats Steve erseg Uh. Where does
where does Brandon Moreno go from here? I mean he's
one of those guys perennial, you know, title challenger or champion.
He beat Steve erseg erseg uh. You know, had a

(17:05):
lot of hype behind him. Uh he's though, now.

Speaker 2 (17:09):
I'm gonna say, had a lot of hype behind him.

Speaker 3 (17:11):
He's I mean, he came in and did really well,
ran into a very tough Pantojia arguably could have won
that fight. Unfortunately for him, he didn't. Uh. Now he's
on his third straight loss, but it's against Brandon Moreno,
I mean beat Mack. How much does that loss hurt him?

Speaker 2 (17:30):
Not that much, man, I mean it's not like it
was a blowout either, I mean moreno Moreno. Yeah, he
beat him on the cards, but it's not like he
beat up Steve Verseg really bad. It's not like, uh,
Erseg didn't have his moments, you know, if I'm being honest,
it wasn't the most exciting fight. You know, it was

(17:51):
just like a who can win these rounds kind of fight.
So I don't know that Erseg loses much in terms
of how how he lost, but like the interest in
him is kind of it's got to be way down
because you can't have a sort of lackluster fight and
lose and expect to be treated the same on the

(18:13):
other side.

Speaker 3 (18:14):
But what about Brandon Moreno, I mean, he was very
emotional talking to Hunter Campbell inside the octagon. Wants to
be part of that. You have seen no Chay card
and Guadalajara. Did he do enough to raise his stock
because at this point, Brandon Marino he beats almost everybody.

Speaker 2 (18:29):
I don't think so. I think it's I think he
just he looked like the guy that we know he is,
you know what I mean. Like and honestly, it was
kind of like a less great performance than I was
hoping for for Moreno, like it was less exciting. A
lot of times he's fun to watch, it wasn't that
fun to watch. And I hate to say that because

(18:51):
I'm actually a big Brandon Morino fan, So I don't know.
Does does it raise his stock particularly amongst the Mexican fans? Yeah,
but also there's no highlights. There are no highlights to
produce out of that event.

Speaker 3 (19:06):
The highlight for me in that fight is when the
crowd starts going brand done brand and b Max stands up.
Is like thinking that the cheerings for him. That was fun,
That's very fun. What did you think of that crowd though?
Inside cd MX arena, b Mac, it was they were

(19:29):
a rowdy bunch.

Speaker 2 (19:30):
Oh and they're rowdy from the moment we got there
at the in the prelims. It wasn't like like when
we even T Mobile arena when you and I go
do the the podcast or the watch along at T
Mobile with Gems. Nobody's even there for the prelim, but
they're not even like, not that they're not into it
because it's the prelims. They didn't even show up. It's

(19:53):
like five hundred people. It feels like when the prelims
started mobile these boys and girls was in their seats
early and they were rowdy from the jump. It was good,
it was fine.

Speaker 1 (20:05):
No.

Speaker 3 (20:05):
Absolutely, Also, don't you.

Speaker 2 (20:08):
Think though, that's kind of what you get anytime the
UFC travels to a city. Oh yeah, even if they
were going to go to Iowa City or something like that,
the people in Iowa c would be like, yeah, we
never get to see the UFC. Let's make sure we
go to the prelims.

Speaker 3 (20:21):
Yeah. Uh, she's hitting Des Moines, Iowa, coming up here
in a few weeks. But I was in Toronto last year.
Same thing. Canadian fans that come out, they're there for
the first fight.

Speaker 1 (20:33):
You know.

Speaker 3 (20:34):
There are certain fight cities, fight towns, fight countries that
they just love the opportunity to go see the UFC,
and Mexico City is definitely one of them.

Speaker 1 (20:43):
True fight culture.

Speaker 3 (20:45):
Yeah, absolutely, Any other takeaways be back from the UFC
Mexico City card.

Speaker 2 (20:52):
Kallolopita, Oh dude, I love Loopy. She's she's bad news.
She looked good she actually she looked great, chick. She
was fighting what's her name, the Brazilian girl? Ah, yeah,
I can't remember. I'm sorry, I can't remember what her
name was. But she actually won the third round for sure.

(21:12):
She got stronger as the fight went on. Lupi started
out cracking though, she picked her up, slammed her on
her head. She looked great and uh and she looked
good in the third round. It's not like she got
beat up. But the other girl was like winning more
as the fight went on, you know. So I think
she's gonna end up. I think we're gonna see some
good stuff from her.

Speaker 3 (21:32):
So how about Raoul Rosas survived a pretty deep choke?
That was That was good, thank you, thank you very good.

Speaker 2 (21:44):
That was without the voice effect.

Speaker 3 (21:48):
I feel like we're burying the lead a little bit though,
because eb I for me, stole the Combat Sports weekend.

Speaker 2 (21:57):
Yeah, honestly, I've said this a couple of different times now,
and I do mean it. It was the most fun
one night event that I can ever remember doing commentary for,
like or really even being therefore, and.

Speaker 1 (22:14):
The highlight that came out of that was probably the craziest.
I mean that trump any other sports highlight from the
weekend for sure. I mean, let's get into its.

Speaker 3 (22:26):
Let's let's get into it. Let's recappy be out a
little bit, then we'll get into buy or sell. But
eb I twenty three kicked off with arguably one of
the biggest upsets we've ever seen b MAC Mauricio Rios
takes out Matt mash who was the champion in combat
jiu jitsu one hundred fifty five pounds. I mean, we

(22:46):
were talking about March Madness, and if you were to
do a bracket nobody had Mauricio Rios getting past Matt Mash,
let alone getting all the way to the tournament finale.
I have never seen you lose your mind like that,
And that was just an indicatortion of what we were
going to see throughout the course of that sixteen man tournament.

(23:10):
You know, you pay for your whole seat. You definitely
only needed the edge. Bemack didn't even need a seat.
Sunday night, I stood up pretty much the entire time,
and how how could do you not?

Speaker 2 (23:20):
Oh? I had a blast man. So the top four
seeds all go out in the first round. It was nuts.
The top guy in each corner of the bracket lost
in the first round and they lost to like dudes
that were put in there for them to beat. It's
not like, Okay, this thing's pretty close, Like we got
a we got a pretty even bracket. No, No, we

(23:42):
had a bracket that was made for the first four
seeds to advance. Yeah, and they all lost. It was crazy.
And you know, I think a lot of people don't
realize how good Matt Mash is because he's not really
out there competing. He's a purple belt, so he's not
really getting these big time black belt level matchups on

(24:03):
other cards because he's kind of new to the game.
But we've seen him on combat JITs. We saw him
at one hundred and forty five pounds the first time.
He submitted three black belts in regulation and then lost
in the finals. So he was one hundred and forty
five pound runner up who is three and one. He
comes in at one hundred and fifty five pounds. He
wins all four matches, and they're all four blowouts. Now

(24:24):
the dude is seven and one in combat jiu jitsu
coming in and the top the champion in the bracket
pulls out the day before Dafron pulls out, and so
now the one fifty five champion is in the one
forty five bracket. He had an easy weight cut, he
looks great, he feels ready to go, and he loses
in the first round. Like I was already talking about, man,

(24:47):
if he wins all four matches, this guy's gonna be
like eleven and one in this format. He's gonna be,
on paper, one of the greatest combat jiu jitsu athletes ever.
He's like twenty two years old. So it blew my
mind that he lost. But then Rios through the rest
of the bracket. I thought it was just a crazy
upset and there's no way the kid is going to

(25:09):
be able to dude. He looked he got better as
the tournament went on, and then he ended up losing
in the final. Crazy event man Tim Elliott going out
in the first round, going out in the first minute,
I think, I think he didn't even make a minute.

Speaker 3 (25:22):
Fifty six seconds or something like that.

Speaker 2 (25:24):
The Ultimate Fighter twenty four champion, didn't he fight for
the one twenty five title in.

Speaker 3 (25:28):
The UFC, I believe.

Speaker 2 (25:29):
So, Yeah, loses in the first round, gets submitted in
the first minute of the first round, so he's out.
Then who else Schneider who would have been my number
two guy lost in the first round? And then who
was the other guy at the botto? Oh? Jordan Worth
not just lost, got I mean.

Speaker 1 (25:53):
One of the worst. He came out and went out
on a shield of look like is the best way
I could put it. From a boy yeuh be hung
in there. It looked like, but my boy got got
banged up. That combat jiu jitsu is a little different sometimes.

Speaker 3 (26:08):
I mean a lot of people don't like calling jiu
jitsu matches fights, and I understand why. I don't know
if we can put that label on combat jiu jitsu
and say it's not a fight when you have an
example of Jordan Worth.

Speaker 2 (26:21):
I don't know. I hate when people did all right,
pet peeve time Oh. I hate when people try to
act like they're cool and tough because they go jiu
jitsu in a real fight, bro, it's a real fight.
Somebody's trying to strangle me to death or break my arm.

(26:42):
If jiu jitsu is not a fight, boxing's not a
fight because every time you start grappling they call that
cheating and break it up right, get out of my face, dude,
I can't stand that. I think that is just the
most like weirdo. It's not. It doesn't make me, man,
it's just such a weirdo. Take like, what do you.

Speaker 1 (26:59):
Mean, especially especially for somebody that would say that that
doesn't train or hasn't ever competed in the combat sport
or a real fight or any of the above. You know,
I understand some like MMA guys, they try to say
that it's not that serious. I've been guilty of being like, oh,
it's like I'm going to compete in jiu jitsu. It's
it's not a real fight. It's not that serious. But
the reality is is even guys that don't get in

(27:21):
there and MMA fight, it's a fight to them. And
that's what makes it a fight. You know what I'm saying.
Any kind of sporting event can become a fight, Like
a basketball game can become kind of a fight in
those guys eyes if I if I play the game
that way, you know, and so especially with jiu jitsu
where strikes are involved, you better treat it like a fight.
Is that shit? Check out that that post on Instagram, brother,

(27:44):
that was that was definitely a fight.

Speaker 3 (27:47):
Jordan Worth was beaten up. I mean, if you don't
want to call that a fight, I don't know what's
wrong with you. I'm on board.

Speaker 2 (27:53):
His face cut, he's got stitches, he's bleeding the entire
ten minute regulation.

Speaker 3 (27:59):
Yeah, he was cut over in the first minute.

Speaker 1 (28:02):
And hung in there like a g He's he's a
super tough dude.

Speaker 3 (28:06):
Yeah, it was crazy. Let's get into let's just jump
into buy or Sell, which is brought to you by
our friends at Salt Electro Lights. Visit them, use code
BMAC save some money. Uh B Mack probably needs some
Salt Electro lights. After that Tuesday, he had bro first

(28:28):
item tough on Buy or Sell. H Elkins alluded to
it dominic lobo hits a go go plata one of
the I'm not even gonna say one of the best
go go plota is the best go go plata I've
ever seen in combat sports. So that's what's up for
buy or Sell. Was it the best go go you've

(28:50):
ever seen?

Speaker 1 (28:50):
B mac.

Speaker 2 (28:53):
Yeah, it's the coolest one, that's for sure. It made
the best highlight. A lot of it is just the shot,
like the angle on the shot that plas when he
was running the because Michael plaster was running the live
camera and he knows what he's looking at. And dude,
he got down into and he just had this perfect
angle to see it. And no, one, I don't care

(29:14):
who you are or how much combat you've seen. Something
you have never seen is somebody stuck in a go
go plota and getting hit in the face as they
pass out from the choke. You've never seen that. That's
never happened.

Speaker 1 (29:26):
No.

Speaker 2 (29:26):
As far as like best highlights ever, yes, it's the
best go go plot of highlight ever, but it's not
the most high stakes go go like definitely that goes
to Nick Yeah Diaz versus Gommy, Nick Diaz versus Gomy.
That's the most high stakes one and the one that's
gonna get viewed forever.

Speaker 3 (29:43):
You know, Oh, Dominic Love was gonna get viewed forever,
Wasn't That clip somewhere like north of three million views
on Instagram.

Speaker 2 (29:51):
Just on my Instagram, not count not to mention all
the other places that it's been reposted, UFC, Fight, Pass, Eddie, Bravo,
like every every and listen to this dude on my Instagram,
that clip has sixty thousand shares this morning, sixty thousand
times somebody sent it to somebody else. That's quite easy.

Speaker 3 (30:11):
I had people that are friends of mine that are very,
very I don't even know if you would call them
casual combat sports fans sending it to me going did
you see this? I'm like, yeah, that's my voice on
it next to b MAAC freaking out because you don't
see that, and you know, there was some confusion, which

(30:32):
was interesting to me. A lot of people first off
blew me away not knowing what a go go plot was.
People were like, what is that? And second it kind
of showed how the casual fan who may have heard
of combat jiu jitsu hasn't really seen it because there
were some people going, why is he hitting them? That's
not sportsman like, No, that's the game. That's the game.

Speaker 1 (30:56):
To me, it proved that that tenth plane of stuff
don't work. You know what I'm saying. He's just sitting
there lighting haul me up, just And the crazy part
for me was that it looked like the other dude
was a pitbull on a leash. He was just like
leaning into it, trying to like trying to get in
there and and strike his way out of it, and
just died right there and on Instagram forever shout after

(31:19):
that guy's contribution to the sports guys.

Speaker 3 (31:22):
Well, you know what. That's the thing too that the
clip doesn't show is Andreas Luna, who was choked unconscious.
He got up and he was like kind of stoked
about being in the moment. He was fired up. Does
it happened? You know what I mean?

Speaker 2 (31:33):
Hey, No, he wasn't.

Speaker 3 (31:35):
He wasn't stoked that it happened, but like he knew
that he was in a moment. And it takes two
to tango. And I think he was proud of himself
for going out on the shield.

Speaker 2 (31:42):
I know, I don't think so. I think he was
trying to figure out where he was and was trying
he just defaults to a nice guy. He got nearly
knocked out while he got choked out, and after you
get choked out, it's a little weird. Dude, you wake
up and then souddenly. Mike Beltron's got my hand and
I'm like, I'm not exactly sure how he got to

(32:04):
the end right here, but you'll go home on time.
He's not happy about it.

Speaker 1 (32:09):
Bro. When you get your for lack of a better term,
your ass whoop like that you usually go and maybe
there's some some happy drinks in celebration or some sad
drinks depending on how it went, you know, and he
is the man is having sad drinks. He's having a
he's having his own version of Taco Tuesday. Fighting that
that hangover over the couple of last couple of days.

(32:29):
It was it was rough, brother.

Speaker 3 (32:32):
So you think Mack he was trying to say face.

Speaker 2 (32:35):
No, I think he just wasn't even aware of where
he was possible. I mean, he got knocked out and
choked out. He got knocked out and choked out. Ye,
he wakes up as soon as they like, they roll
him over. He's dead for five or six seconds. He
wakes up and then suddenly he's standing beside Mike Beltron

(32:56):
and the other guy's getting his hand raised. You're still processing,
like how did I end up standing right here? Like
what exactly? You know what I mean?

Speaker 1 (33:03):
Yeah, from a from a technical standpoint, it was really
interesting to see how because like one of the things
that you need to create force on your on your
strikes is you need range. You need distance so that
you can get the speed and the power going. And
because of the the go go that he had he
had him like kicked away trying to finish it, and
it allowed the space for him to cause a lot

(33:24):
of times in a situation where someone could be choked
out and knocked out at the same time, like maybe
it's a triangle choke or a rear triangle or something
like that, and so those are usually like tighter, closer range.
You know, the guy's trying to stack you, and maybe
you're trying to fit a little you know, short elbow
in there. But what a what a dreadful way to die? Brother?

Speaker 3 (33:44):
Just can I say one thing that was lost in
the narrative was Dominic Lovo's sportsmanship because when he was out,
Dominic immediately stopped hitting him.

Speaker 2 (33:53):
Yeah, good point. You know he recognized it before Mike did.

Speaker 3 (33:58):
Yeah. Well, I mean he uh you went out with
his eyes open, you know what I mean.

Speaker 2 (34:03):
Dude, That always makes a ko so much better. It
was crazy, like, oh my god, I could see his
soul is not there?

Speaker 3 (34:12):
Yeah all right.

Speaker 2 (34:14):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (34:15):
Second item up here, just because of the reaction where
some people were confused by or sell combat, jiu jitsu
is a long way to go still in front of
it to establish itself as a sport. Because again I
was surprised to be back at the comments about the confusion,
like a lot of people thought they were seeing a

(34:36):
grappling match gone awry, where it's like, why is this
guy slapping him? Buy or sell combat? Jiu Jitsu still
has to establish itself as its own entity in sport.

Speaker 2 (34:51):
I guess I'll go by because I think it's still
like most of the jiu jitsu community still hasn't even
seen it.

Speaker 3 (34:57):
You know, that's crazy to me. We've been doing compacts
five years behind a paywall, but the clips have been
out there. I mean, how many times did we see
that Damien Anderson knockout? I mean that's not probably three million,
but we've seen that at least one hundred thousand times,
one hundred thousand views plus.

Speaker 2 (35:17):
Yeah, for sure, I think that one got close to
a million on my YouTube, So I know that one
got seen a lot. But okay, great, let's take the
two most viral clips that it's ever had. Would be
that one with Damien Anderson. Let's just call let's call
that two million views, okay, okay, And now let's take
the one that just happened this weekend, and let's call

(35:40):
that three millions, five million views? Right, do you know
how many people there are in this country, TJ.

Speaker 3 (35:47):
In this country three hundred and fifty million.

Speaker 2 (35:50):
We got a long way to go because those two
clips combined are what not even one percent and not
even one minute either, by the.

Speaker 3 (36:02):
Way, Yeah, that's true.

Speaker 2 (36:04):
So five million people have seen less than a minute
of combat jiu JITs and we got a waste to get.

Speaker 1 (36:10):
Yeah, I'm also buying that they've got a little waste
to go, But I mean, they've been doing some really,
really good work. I think that there's some other elements
that could create kind of a tipping point for it.
You see, like the slap competitions are trying to get
bigger and bigger, that Dana White supporting and things like that.
So I think that the community is a little more

(36:30):
primed to accept it and want to be viewers of it.
I know that, especially me, Like I came from an
MMA background, and so to me, it was just like
slap fighting and silly, and I wasn't prepared to really
consume it when I first heard of it. But like
I said, if some of these highlights keep happening, the
production keeps going up, they start putting in front of

(36:51):
more and more people. I don't see why I couldn't
have a really, really prominent place, especially because you know,
for me, I didn't believe in the slap fight. You know,
I'm not a big power slap guy myself, But that
people wanting to consume that, I think gives it a
little more of a sticky nature with combat jiu jitsu.
And of course, like if people understand that it's a

(37:12):
you know, like you said, maybe a bunch of people
watching they didn't know that they were watching what they
were watching, or that it was a match going wrong.
Maybe that's why they would want to watch it next time.

Speaker 2 (37:20):
Let me ask you a question. Let me ask you
a question, Matt Elkins. Let's just play a hypothetical right here,
all right, keelan, do we have like a buzzer that
was is wrong answer and a buzzer that's like a
bell that's for a right answer. Oh lord, sure, Okay,
we'll try it. We'll see what buttons he pushes over here. Okay,
let me ask you a question, Matt. You find out

(37:44):
that there's gonna be a fight streamed or a match
streamed live on YouTube, it's free to watch, Okay, it's
between comsatch MAV and let's just call it Robert Whittaker.
It's a jiu jitsu match, pure grappling. Are you excited

(38:07):
about that? I mean, I'm excited. I'm gonna watch it.
I'm a jiu jitsu guy, I'm gonna watch it. That
sounds Cool'd be.

Speaker 1 (38:15):
Very interested to see those MMA fighters u jiu jitsu games,
specifically against other MMA fighters jiu jitsu games.

Speaker 2 (38:22):
Now, let me ask you this. You find out they're
allowed to crack each other in the face with an
open hand while they're on the ground, Interested less or interested?

Speaker 1 (38:31):
More scared for Robert Whittaker more, that is what I
would say, and definitely.

Speaker 2 (38:36):
Interested, interested more or less, I definitely think.

Speaker 1 (38:40):
I definitely think that because of the experience that some
of those guys have when MMA, especially like I, would
rather see him crack each other than you know, we
understand MMA athletes don't need this quite the same attention
to their grappling that pure jiu jitsu athletes play with.

Speaker 2 (38:56):
I'm just asking those from a viewership standpoint, are you
more interested in watching if they can't hit each other
or if they can.

Speaker 1 (39:05):
Yeah, I definitely like the fact that they can hit
each other.

Speaker 2 (39:08):
But also, let me give you another one. I don't
even want to hear your next point. Craig Jones versus
Gable Steveson's coming up. Maybe we're going to talk about
that later. M more interested if they can't hit each
other or if they can.

Speaker 1 (39:23):
Oh yeah, no, Gable. If Gable Stevenson can try to
crack old buddy while he's laying on top of him,
let's watch that.

Speaker 2 (39:29):
It's obvious. It's obvious when you think about it. Combat
jiu jitsu is obviously more interesting to the regular person.
It's just obvious.

Speaker 3 (39:39):
What's the best single super fighting grappling history, or at
least recent grappling history.

Speaker 2 (39:46):
Craig Jones versus Gabby Garcia.

Speaker 3 (39:49):
Besides that, I would say Andre Galvao and Gordon Ryan.

Speaker 2 (39:54):
Okay, sure, I'll go agree with that.

Speaker 3 (39:56):
Now, how much bigger is it if it's combat?

Speaker 2 (40:00):
A lot? If they're allowed to crack each other? Yeah,
a lot? And whoa? How much crazier would Craig versus
Gabby have been if they were allowed to slap each other? Seriously, seriously,
that would have been the most watched thing in Internet history. Yeah,
for a bunch of different reasons. Oh, a man's allowed
to hit a one like all of that, but imagine

(40:20):
if they did. Yeah, all right, it's obvious that combat
jiu jitsu is more interesting to regular people.

Speaker 1 (40:29):
Could it could be stickier? For sure?

Speaker 3 (40:31):
Let's get to our third buyer self, and you've already
alluded to it. Craig Jones makes an announcement on Instagram
that cg I two is going to feature him against
Gable Steveson that alone, by or sell? Is it really
gonna happen? Matt Elklins will start with.

Speaker 1 (40:46):
You, Oh, man, I just don't know. I'm hoping I'm
trying to invest in that a little early in buying it,
so that it happens, you know, with the interest. But
Craig's a madman who knows the mad Hatter? Is he
having April Fools fun? Or is Gable Stevenson looking to
like we talked about ray rally into something new. That's

(41:07):
what I'm hoping for. I'm buying it, buy or sell.

Speaker 3 (41:10):
Matt Elkins will eventually start saying Gable Steveson correctly and
not say Stevenson over and over again. Cell, Yeah, part Cell.

Speaker 1 (41:20):
That's a smart that's a smart move. With your money. Brother.

Speaker 3 (41:22):
So here's the thing. I'm on the fence. I can't
buy it yet because simply I saw it on April
Fool's Day. But I did hear from a little birdie
that knows that Gable Steveson is seriously contemplating making his
MMA debut this year.

Speaker 2 (41:41):
Yeah, that's true.

Speaker 3 (41:44):
So that lends me to think that, okay, maybe he
is going to try to grapple at a high level
in jiu jitsu before that happens. So that's the main
reason I'm thinking there might be some smoke to this fire.

Speaker 2 (42:00):
And fellas, let me just go ahead and give it
to you, nice and simple from the man who knows
that's real. It's not an April Fool's joke. Greig Jones
and Gable Steveson are really gonna do the thing. And
what's what's the real lesson here is that even if
it was an April Fool's joke, it's a master class

(42:21):
and how to run a promotion and how to get publicity.
It was a masterclass. So even if it's fake, which
it's not, take it from the man who knows it's real,
and your boy cannot wait for it. I'm so here
for that. This is the kind of stuff that I
want to see. I want to see crazy matchups. I

(42:43):
love it. Give me as many as many, Freako. We
can only do this in Russia kind of matchups as
we can get. I'm talking about let's go Bob. My
favorite MMA fight of all time is Bob Sap versus Nagara.
That's what I'm looking for. I don't care about no championships.
I want pile drivers.

Speaker 3 (43:01):
Right, yeah, I'm with you, Okay, thank you over all right,
I'm gonna put Keeling on the spot here, Kelan, I
want you to come up with a betting line on
a match between Craig Jones and Gable steveson what what?
What's the number? Who's the favorite, who's the dog by
how much?

Speaker 2 (43:22):
Oh my god, dude, he's such a cheater. I wish
I could show you what he's doing right now. I
think I can. I can I can he asking ai, dude,
he's over here internet in it. I don't know which.

Speaker 1 (43:38):
I mean.

Speaker 3 (43:44):
I wanted to real hon his answer from you, not
like research fact checked mine out there.

Speaker 2 (43:51):
Oh my god, he's useless.

Speaker 3 (43:53):
I put minus one thousand as a favorite.

Speaker 2 (43:59):
I mean, got assume they're doing c JI rules right, correct.
I don't know that that means ten nine rounds Gable
Steveson could win.

Speaker 3 (44:14):
I'm sure.

Speaker 2 (44:14):
Well, I mean, just look what Craig did against Sean
Brady when they faced what was that fury grappling. They
had a match. It's been it's been a while ago,
a couple of years now, I think. But Sean Brady
he shut Craig down.

Speaker 3 (44:30):
I still think that Gable is too susceptible to get
in his leg wrapped up and getting he'll hooked.

Speaker 2 (44:37):
But maybe that's written into the rules that he can't
do hill hooks.

Speaker 1 (44:40):
Sure didn't they do that with Gaby?

Speaker 2 (44:42):
That's what they did with Sean Brady. Go ahead, Matt.

Speaker 1 (44:47):
I thought that there was weren't there some kind of
special rules even in the Craig versus Gabby match.

Speaker 2 (44:52):
I don't think so.

Speaker 1 (44:54):
Okay, I wanted I thought that maybe he couldn't heal
hook her or something like.

Speaker 2 (44:57):
That, but they were trying to he'll hook each other.

Speaker 1 (45:00):
Yeah, I don't. I don't remember the specifics of the match,
but I definitely would like to see I would not
like to see him he'll hook him in thirty seconds.
That would not interest me as much as I know
that could happen.

Speaker 2 (45:13):
That interests me. Dude, Just imagine the storylines jiu jitsu
gets to have after that. We bring us your best
of all time. Oh no, that's a bold statement, but
one of your five or ten best of all time
at least right from wrestling in his prime into a

(45:34):
grappling match where there the rules are set up where
he could win, and then the jiu jitsu guy be
and by the way, not even the best jiu jitsu
guy currently, just a really good one maybe second best
argument to be made though, right we're not bringing him
in to fight our our all time great. We're not

(45:56):
bringing him in to fight Gordon Ryan. You know what
I'm saying. We're bringing him into the dude who hasn't
actually gotten the gold. But we love him, but we
love him, and we love him for that. We love
him so and then that guy, then our number two
right now, beats one of your top all time in
thirty seconds. That would be awesome. What a storyline that
would be for jiu jitsu.

Speaker 1 (46:17):
Yeah, I definitely think that. I definitely think that jiu
jitsu is is busting a little flex on the wrestling
community just by I don't. I mean, I just feel
like there's been so many opportunities that the wrestling community
just hasn't been able to rally as the oldest sport
of all time, and they're just not able to produce
these kind of opportunities to get the viewership on it

(46:39):
that it really needs. And so shout out to Gable first,
which is wild, dude. I know it's crazy. I started
wrestling and then got into MMA, and then jiu jitsu
was like the last thing that really interested me. And
so obviously MMA's got the promotional side, you know, they
got to figure it out pretty well. Wrestling just has
never really turned the corner. And I think that in

(47:00):
the greatest wrestler of all time or one of them
have to try to make a move or you know,
he's obviously tried to make a few different moves into
other organizations or other sports. But I think it's a
testament that like wrestling needs to get its act together
a little bit if it's going to try to make
itself a viewer sport, you know, spectator sport that's gonna
get the general public going instead of just like the

(47:21):
hard nosed individuals of the wrestling community.

Speaker 2 (47:23):
Well, I got good news for you, is it. Wrestling
already did get its act together. It split off into
works right pro wrestling, it's pro wrestling. Yeah, wrestling already
figured it out years and years and years ago. Oh, dude,
shout out to Thomas Brock. Just became a member of

(47:44):
the channel. I set the chat up so as only
members of the channel could chat. Shout out Thomas Brock.
Appreciate that, brother, But yeah, wrestling already got its act together.
They already figured out how to do it. Jiu jitsu
is the one that needs to get its act together.
Amateur wrestling is not a TV product, but yo, it's

(48:05):
a live product. How many thousands of people can they
pack into the stands?

Speaker 3 (48:10):
Yeah, brings out people in number.

Speaker 2 (48:13):
Man, the n C double people in numbers. You're talking
about Donald Trump and Elon Musk showing up. Come on, dude,
let's go. They got that part figured out. They got
The only thing they don't have is the TV product
figured out.

Speaker 3 (48:32):
It lacks a real promotion. They tried to do it.
There was a show called Real Pro Wrestling around Like,
I'm out.

Speaker 1 (48:39):
It's all been garbage.

Speaker 2 (48:40):
Brother, You think that the the matches themselves are attended
so well. Is it just because they're colleges and that
it's the alumni.

Speaker 1 (48:50):
Loyalty versus new money. I think that it's just these
guys are the Rockefellers of grappling and and and you
guys are the u Tubers of grappling. And it's just
two different mindsets and two different cultures. And I don't
think that you would if you asked the wrestler that, yeah,
we got it all figured out. And I'm like, man,
I've sat here and watched jiu jitsu promotions and MMA

(49:13):
promotions just skyrocket above amateur wrestling promotions, and it's like
you said, they had to the theater nerds had to
break off and break some chairs over each other to
make some money, and y'all just sit there and keep
running double legs out of bounds and scoring three to
two like soccer matches. It's just I don't know, brother, it.

Speaker 3 (49:30):
Comes down to a personality and a personality you can
really get behind. I think you're right, p Mack. I
think the university and the tradition of college wrestling is
what get a lot of those numbers out there. But
if you had a sole promotion, have a gable Steveson
and allow that character to build, and you had a
promotion behind it, you could actually build a base. But

(49:52):
it's it's gonna be a slow, slow burn.

Speaker 2 (49:57):
I don't know. Maybe you're right, but right now, if
you there's if you build a name in wrestling, everybody goes, oh, sick,
what's he gonna do next? There's nowhere to go.

Speaker 1 (50:08):
No, there's no final It's just a birthing place of
your career. It's not a place to go. Like Jordan Burroughs,
I guarantee worked harder than any any UFC champion ever,
way harder than John Jones. But look at the difference
in their career and the spectator's view of those people.
Jordan Burrows is one of the hardest working dudes. That's

(50:28):
what I'm saying. There's just, you know, even guys that
are big in the wrestling community, they know it's just
it's a lot of hard work with way less public reward,
you know. And I'm saying this. I wrestled for thirteen
you know, thirteen years before I got into jiu jitsu
and everything like that. I remember winning state championships and
going to our high school football teams. You know, we're

(50:50):
five and five. Everybody's painted up, ready to rock, and
I'm just over here winning state championship after state championship
and just being like, well, I'm gonna go run at
midnight and no one's going to be there to celebrate that.
And I think that that's, you know, that's where wrestling
is kind of died on on a on a hill
a little bit. And I would I'm saying this is

(51:11):
an advocate for wrestling. I want it to grow, and
I want the guys that are you know, I'm glad
that these guys are getting these nil deals and things
like that that seemed to be doing bigger and better
things for the sport. Would love to see it continue
to grow. But I remember kind of scoffing at the
jiu jitsu community for thinking that they were going to
start promoting things and all that. It's just now it's
a completely different game. And I would love for I

(51:32):
would love for every one of the rest, like the
Big twelve championships and all these things to be big,
but you know, truly big. But I just don't think
they have the The guys get on the mic and
they're just like their Yeah, I'd like to, you know,
keep it super respectful and shout out to my opponent
for working hard. And it's like, yeah, say something about
his mom, Bro, say something about his mom.

Speaker 3 (51:54):
And and that's how we got to pro wrestling.

Speaker 2 (51:57):
It is pretty crazy, though, how well jiu jitsu is done.
Like the narrative, of course is there's no money in
jiu jitsu, and you know, I'm definitely here for that narrative. However,
what are we comparing it to everything?

Speaker 3 (52:11):
We're comparing it Mma, everything is compared Tom at this point.

Speaker 2 (52:15):
Listen, dog, No, No, we're comparing it to being an engineer.
We're comparing it to like not pursuing jiu jit Why
would I do jiu jitsu? I have a promising career, but.

Speaker 1 (52:26):
An Olympic champion in wrestling, Like that's it's not a
great return.

Speaker 3 (52:31):
Well, I mean, what is an Olympic champion worth fifty grand?

Speaker 1 (52:35):
Like I want to say maybe they, I mean they're
going to get a couple of sponsorships, but like maybe
maybe six figures.

Speaker 2 (52:41):
Discussion makes me so frustrated. Yeah, because that the question
that you guys just asked and answered. What was it, TJ?
How much is being an Olympian Olympic champion worth Yeah,
And then Matt says fifty thousand dollars that's the prize. Yeah,

(53:03):
you can take that and make millions with it. The
problem is not that these sports don't have any money.
The problem is that people don't know how to make money.
And they could run a carpet cleaning business or a
gym or a jiu jit They could be a jiu
jitsu athlete, or they could be a sales guy or whatever.
They wouldn't make any money because they don't know how

(53:24):
to make money.

Speaker 3 (53:25):
That's true, that's the problem. That's a whole other discussion.

Speaker 1 (53:28):
It starts with saying something about their mama.

Speaker 5 (53:31):
The Olympic gold medal. Yes, you're right, it's less than
fifty thousand. It's thirty seven thousand for a gold medal
from the Olympic Committee. But there's a USA Wrestling Living
the Dream Metal Fund that gives an extra two hundred
and fifty thousand dollars just for winning the gold medal.

Speaker 3 (53:48):
But think about that. We have to have a fund
set up to make it worth their while.

Speaker 2 (53:51):
Can I say something real quick? Every four years, Ryan
Aitken want more money for winning the PGF in season seven,
then the USA Olympic gold medal pace Ryan Aiken walked
away from PGF seven with forty thousand dollars and it's
thirty seven thousand dollars to win an Olympic golden wrestling.

Speaker 3 (54:15):
There's the answer right there.

Speaker 1 (54:16):
And the Olympics have been happening for centuries. Brother, It's like,
that's that's the thing, you know. I would love to
see it, love to see it take a different turn.
And because I do think that it's the hardest sport,
like wrestling in college. Like I said, I've fault amateur
and professional MMA obviously grappled professionally now a little bit.
It's a man, College wrestling is a tough, tough grind

(54:40):
and if you're doing that and then going to the
international level and winning an Olympic gold medal and things
like that and putting up the example that those guys
are for, like youth and stuff, man, I just wish
those guys were getting taken care of a little bit better.

Speaker 2 (54:53):
But it's I don't want to say it's their fault,
but I mean, come on, dude, like Gable Steveson is
gonna take him being a champion and he's gonna turn
it into money somewhere.

Speaker 3 (55:06):
Right, it's gonna be It's not.

Speaker 2 (55:09):
About how much you get for winning the thing, it's like,
what can you do with it?

Speaker 3 (55:13):
When Michael establishment Michael Jordan.

Speaker 2 (55:16):
Made a great check from the NBA. Dude, he made
a great check from the Chicago Bulls. Mister Rondorf wrote
him a big check every month, but he made way
more with the check he got from Nike, and way
more doing whatever else he was doing. Him and Larry
Bird doing a McDonald's commercial, and here he goes into
space jam like the money has to be made by

(55:39):
you and your people. You got to get out there
and learn how to make money. And that's how jiu
jitsu athletes mostly do it as well. Yeah, you won
forty thousand dollars, Ryan Akin, But are you smart enough
to turn that into a seminar tour? Are you smart
enough to turn that into a set of instructionals or
a website or learn how to monetize your content on
you tube or whatever? Like what are we going to

(56:02):
snowball this into? And it's so hard when you're focused
on being the best that you can. And that's why
I'll always say and I firmly stand by this. There
is a major difference between being a championship fighter and
being a prize fighter. Those are two different pursuits, right,
and I agree you got to learn to be a
prize fighter. You can be both at the same time,

(56:23):
but you've got to learn how to do it.

Speaker 3 (56:25):
All right, I gotta go. We've run out of time
for a hot takes, which I'm gonna assign Matt Elkins
some homework because he's the only one that a hot
take this week.

Speaker 2 (56:34):
Dude, why you know how the sausage is made? Why
are you calling me out like that?

Speaker 3 (56:39):
I'm not calling you out at all. I just gotta go.
I gotta I gotta go get my teeth fixed.

Speaker 1 (56:44):
No kid, Dad gotta go warm himself up.

Speaker 3 (56:47):
And that's true, that's true. We do have a phone number.
I want to give that out if you thought about
anything that you want to share with us, and we
