No more tub Jam DeSantis, as I dubbed myself, You're
you're tea now boy. Okay, great, Matt Alkins, he's here
as well. How are you, Matt in the mouth of
the South, hot Age, I heard you're feeling kind of
down in the dumps as well.

Speaker 2 (01:37):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (01:38):
Down in Alabama, we got these things called trees TJ trees, trees.

Speaker 4 (01:44):
I don't know what that means. We have trees here
as well.

Speaker 6 (01:48):
A couple of them, one or two, I see it,
like eight trees.

Speaker 4 (01:52):
S We got palm trees. What are you talking about
there everywhere?

Speaker 2 (01:56):
Yeah, the pollen on them.

Speaker 4 (01:58):
Yeah, I see what you're saying. I don't think do
trees make pollen. I'm pretty sure if flowers make.

Speaker 5 (02:04):
Pollend it in the South, everything makes pollen.

Speaker 6 (02:09):
Everything's covered in pollen. It all is yellow. Everything is yellow.

Speaker 5 (02:13):
I walked outside, Yes, I walked outside today and my
blue Tesla was yellow.

Speaker 4 (02:19):
Wouldn't that make it green?

Speaker 2 (02:22):
No?

Speaker 5 (02:23):
No, no, just covered up the blue completely. But you're
still right right now there. I'm still down. I'm still down.
From Mexico City, bro.

Speaker 4 (02:32):
I heard a bunch of people got sick from Mexico City.

Speaker 2 (02:34):
Oh my god, dude, super spreaders.

Speaker 4 (02:38):
I mean, flying on airplanes bad enough. But it's allergy season.

Speaker 5 (02:41):
You are right, well, what started this off was not
allergy season. It was Montezuma's revenge.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
Oh oh, it was tough.

Speaker 4 (02:51):
There was something in the water in Mexico City.

Speaker 2 (02:54):
Yeah, there was.

Speaker 5 (02:56):
All I did was like rinse my mouth while I
was brushing my That's literally a bottle of water that
was provided.

Speaker 2 (03:03):
I drink all that.

Speaker 4 (03:06):
I mean, that's a good reason.

Speaker 2 (03:10):
Ready for what the next part?

Speaker 4 (03:14):

Speaker 2 (03:16):

Speaker 6 (03:29):
Oh no, I don't want to buy it.

Speaker 2 (03:30):
It's buy or sell.

Speaker 6 (03:31):
You don't buy anything, Amy, don't buy anything.

Speaker 3 (03:37):
Buy or Sell brought to you by Salt electro Lights,
which I think both my co hosts might need to
feel a little bit better. Go over there to go
b max save twenty five percent and uh yeah, good help.
Electrolytes proud sponsor of the number one podcast in the
world we call The Rounds. First item up forbid this

(03:57):
weekend in Miami, Patty Pimblet takes Michael Chandler. Pimlet has
been in the UFC for a while, really stock through
the roof, even when he should lose a fight, he
ends up getting his hand raised, and I'm gonna open
the floor on buy or sell with Patty Pimblett will

(04:18):
be a UFC lightweight champion, Matt Elkins, do you buy this?

Speaker 6 (04:25):
I gotta sell that one. Brother. I just don't believe
that he's going to get the thing done. I do
believe that he could possibly get the favorable matchups and
maybe he finds a way to it. But I don't know.
I don't know that I believe that he's going to
take out everybody in the weight class. I just I

(04:46):
gotta sell the vision in MMA. I believe it's a
tough one. I also had agree that there's just I
forget what the numbers are on the roster, but I
think there's like two or three times the amount of
win to fifty five hours. Is there are some weight
classes like heavyweight.

Speaker 3 (05:02):
At fifty five you have power, you have speed, you
have technique. Of all the weight classes, I think getting
top shelf wins at one fifty five it's the toughest
task to do in all of combat sports.

Speaker 6 (05:16):
Oh yeah, so I don't I don't believe that. I
don't even know if I believe he's gonna make it
through Michael Chandler this weekend. And I don't think that
Michael Michael Chandler is not even one of the best,
uh you know, I mean he's one of the best
line athletes in the world.

Speaker 4 (05:31):
B Macker, Are you buying or selling before I tell
you the line?

Speaker 7 (05:36):
Let me tell you guys a story, story time.

Speaker 2 (05:41):
What are you laughing at? Matt?

Speaker 6 (05:45):
All right, I'm just I'm just waiting, brother, I'm just
ready as they are.

Speaker 2 (05:49):
I'm gonna tell you guys a story.

Speaker 4 (05:50):
The long story should get nice sleeping Willow Outer.

Speaker 2 (05:56):
You're blowing the moment here.

Speaker 4 (05:59):
I'm just setting it up. I'm getting nestled in here, Jesus.

Speaker 5 (06:05):
I remember when I was a purple belt running the gym.
I was talking to Alan Belcher and I was Alan
was kind of teaching me the He was giving me
the the ones and twos on how to run a school,
you know, because I didn't have a clue on how
to do it. But I own a gym as a
purple belt and he's After a couple of maybe three

(06:30):
months four months of him teaching me and mentoring me
on this, I was like, yeah, Alan, one day I'm
going to have a million dollar school.

Speaker 2 (06:39):
And he kind of laughed, You're you're not the kind of.

Speaker 5 (06:45):
Guy who has a million dollar school, And I was like,
what he's like, No, if you were the kind of
guy who could have a million dollar school, you'd already
have a million dollar school. You have to become the
kind of guy who can have a million dollar school
if that's what you want. That's what I think happened
to Charles Olivera. He was in the UFC for a

(07:07):
long time and he wasn't the kind of guy who
could be the champion.

Speaker 2 (07:12):
He had to become the.

Speaker 5 (07:14):
Charles oliver A new version of Charles Olivera to become
the champion. Patty Pemblet is not the kind of guy
who can become the champion. He could become that guy,
but the Patty Pimblet that we see today will never
be the C champion. He'll have to turn into a
brand new version of Patty Pimblet, an upgraded version of

(07:37):
Patty Pimblet to become the champion of that division.

Speaker 4 (07:42):
Beat Michael Chandler coming up Saturday.

Speaker 2 (07:45):
Nope, Wow, Chandler's going to finish him.

Speaker 6 (07:49):
Wow, there's the hot take.

Speaker 2 (07:53):
I don't think it's that hot.

Speaker 3 (07:55):
Pat Patty put a minus one forty eight favorite.

Speaker 5 (07:59):
I think that's I mean, that's not that big of
a call.

Speaker 2 (08:03):
I mean that's not that big of a spread.

Speaker 4 (08:06):
I mean you're narrowing it down though even more.

Speaker 3 (08:09):
You're saying we're gonna get a Michael Chandler finished.

Speaker 4 (08:12):
Let's see if I can get a line on that.

Speaker 6 (08:14):
Let's see if we can get a round out of that.
What round does that happen in Brothers third? Okay, all right?

Speaker 4 (08:21):
If you say Michael Chandler wins in round number of three, it.

Speaker 2 (08:29):
Is ref stoppage, not altoholed.

Speaker 4 (08:34):
This can't be right. It says minus one hundred thousand.

Speaker 7 (08:40):
No, that's not right. That seems yeah, now that's incorrect.
That seems like that's probably right. Uh yeah, I think
Chandler does finish him. The thing with Pimblet h. I
like to watch Pemblet fight. I like to here, I
like to hear him talk, like to see him do
his thing.

Speaker 3 (08:59):
But Mike Chandler, by unanimous decision is plus eight hundred.

Speaker 2 (09:04):
Well, luckily I didn't say that.

Speaker 4 (09:07):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (09:07):
I say he's going to finish him in the third
by rough stoppage. And that is correct.

Speaker 4 (09:13):
From the man who knows.

Speaker 2 (09:16):
We'll see, We'll see what happens.

Speaker 4 (09:19):
KO or KO is minus one fifteen Patty by split decision.

Speaker 5 (09:24):
Well, if it goes to a decision, there's no question
about who it goes to already, right, that.

Speaker 6 (09:29):
Definitely everybody knows that sports are rigged.

Speaker 2 (09:33):
Brother, that's Keelan's argument.

Speaker 3 (09:37):
He doesn't believe that because I'm gonna bring bring something
up here that I can tag off of that.

Speaker 2 (09:41):
And bring him in and we'll find out.

Speaker 3 (09:43):
Right now, Keelan, do you think all sick and ball
sports are pre written.

Speaker 2 (09:48):
In a way.

Speaker 1 (09:48):
Yes, I'm not saying that the athletes are following the script.
The athletes don't know that their history has already been written.

Speaker 4 (09:58):
Okay, Well, so that might be like some spear which
will higher power stuff.

Speaker 1 (10:01):
No, No, I mean physically, the league itself tells the
refs to do certain things and act certain ways on
different nights and affect the game in different ways because
it matters based on ticket sales and profit margins, and
it is what it is.

Speaker 6 (10:15):
It's theater.

Speaker 4 (10:17):
How far does this extend? Is this every major league sport?

Speaker 5 (10:20):
Well, dude, let me just prove to you that He's
right the PGF, we don't construct the the outcome of
the fights there. They're shoots right right, But we're in
charge of the storyline and how that story gets told.

(10:41):
We're in charge of who we promote and who we
don't promote. So of course that's happening in the NFL,
of course, right, let them play it out. But you know,
like even in the NBA, be like, oh, it's the playoffs,
they're gonna the rest are gonna let them play tonight.
Oh so you're saying that in this game, we're gonna
let things go and in this game we're not.

Speaker 4 (11:03):
Have you watched it?

Speaker 2 (11:04):
Think that doesn't happen during the rest of the season.
Have you watched tonight?

Speaker 5 (11:08):
Like, don't don't be quick on the whistle tonight, let
him play a little bit.

Speaker 4 (11:12):
Have you seen Operation Flagrant Foul on Netflix?

Speaker 3 (11:15):
No, yep, Yeah, you're you're describing how the NBA at
least worked at one time. Dirty ref Tim Donaghey, he
kind of opened up on that show. And I agree
with what you're saying that way, b Mac and Keel,
and I'll agree with both of you.

Speaker 5 (11:33):
I'm not saying it's dirty. He's taking it a little
further than me. He's he thinksty orchestrated for real. I
think it's guided.

Speaker 3 (11:42):
Yeah, No, I think you're right when when they say,
you know, hey, we're going to be extra judicious on
traveling tonight, which the NBA should do because they haven't
done it in twenty years.

Speaker 1 (11:53):
Yeah, they picked their moments, and you ask like, how
far does it reach? How far does the cartel reach?

Speaker 6 (11:59):
Man?

Speaker 1 (12:00):
How far does the the cabal that the governs things
or the lizard people that run the world. How hard
does it reach?

Speaker 6 (12:07):
Man?

Speaker 1 (12:07):
No one knows, but it's there, okay.

Speaker 6 (12:10):
Like the borders of the flat earth.

Speaker 5 (12:12):
Brother, Hey, in all seriousness, if you didn't know better,
wouldn't you think that TJ was in the lizard people?

Speaker 2 (12:21):
Oh?

Speaker 6 (12:21):
Brother?

Speaker 2 (12:23):
Like, I know you're not TJ.

Speaker 3 (12:25):
Okay, but might get rid of the shawl now because
you might think it's some hierarchy of like pecking order.

Speaker 5 (12:32):
Just on first glance, I look away and then I
look back real quick. Well I have to oh, yeah,
he's not lizard people.

Speaker 3 (12:40):
Just allow me to say that I've been licking my
lips a lot this last week because TJ.

Speaker 2 (12:46):
What does that even mean?

Speaker 6 (12:50):
That sounds like something like an alien lizard person would say,
pretending to be a human.

Speaker 2 (12:55):
Did you just say you thought you had a stroke?

Speaker 1 (12:57):
I know like you, I know my cue.

Speaker 2 (12:59):
Yeah, okay, what is it? Oh?

Speaker 5 (13:03):
Uh TJ, let's revisit it. You said I thought I
had a stroke? Correct, elaborate.

Speaker 3 (13:10):
I went to the dentist and they're putting in some
semi permanent teeth because I've had my kid knocked out
one of my teeth. True story. So they were working
on a tooth and apparently aggravated another infection, and uh

(13:30):
didn't give me the right antibiotics. So I went home.
My mouth hurt a little bit. Come on, now, I
almost died.

Speaker 2 (13:40):
No you didn't.

Speaker 4 (13:41):
No, I didn't listen. I'll help you with dying.

Speaker 2 (13:46):
I'll help you. I woke up. What happened?

Speaker 4 (13:50):
Let me finish the store.

Speaker 6 (13:52):
I've never heard a more dear white belt story than
my kid knocked my front tooth out. Brother, I just
we got to get you in jiujitsu, teach.

Speaker 4 (14:02):
I woke up.

Speaker 3 (14:02):
I had a bad headache in my entire lower mandibles numb,
so I thought I was having a stroke.

Speaker 4 (14:10):
It turns out it was disinfected.

Speaker 5 (14:12):
So when you say I thought I had a stroke.
You completely made something up. Well, I've already had a.

Speaker 3 (14:20):
I've had a stroke before in my life, Vmax. So
there's a history there.

Speaker 2 (14:24):
I believe you probably got a history of having strokes,
if you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 4 (14:28):
Why do I do this show?

Speaker 5 (14:32):
You got your mouth numbed at the dentist, No, and
you didn't.

Speaker 2 (14:38):
Know no what to do? No, so you stroke.

Speaker 4 (14:43):
Leap normally fine, not numb mouth. Woke up with a
headache and a numb mouth.

Speaker 2 (14:51):
T J.

Speaker 6 (14:53):
I want to get back to the real story that
your kid knocked your tooth out. We still we just
ran past that.

Speaker 3 (15:00):
We were in the we were in the pool, and
uh he was little then, and he put his head
back and smacked and broke one of my front teeth
off at the root. And I had a wiggly tooth forever.
And they finally pulled it out and then put temporary
thing in.

Speaker 2 (15:17):
And it turns out you're totally fine.

Speaker 4 (15:21):
I don't know. My mouth is still numb.

Speaker 3 (15:23):
I think I might have some irreversible nerve damage.

Speaker 6 (15:30):
Well, Don Fry is just sick here in that.

Speaker 4 (15:38):
All right, what are we doing? What are we doing about?

Speaker 2 (15:42):
All right?

Speaker 3 (15:42):
We're still in buy er sell. Let me ask you this.
I saw a post from BJ Penn today who was
claiming that his brother at times is not who he
appears to be because he is a CIA plant that
wears a JD.

Speaker 4 (15:57):
Pen mask.

Speaker 3 (15:58):
Now, I'm one who dabbles in conspiracy theories every once
in a while, you know, I think that a well
thought out, laid out conspiracy theory might not be a
theory at times might be the truth. However, I'm very
very hesitant to ever say that I subscribe to any
of them, because this is what happens.

Speaker 4 (16:20):
Conspiracy theories.

Speaker 3 (16:22):
They're like the gateway drug to believing that your brother
wears a rubber mask from time to time, it isn't
actually your brother.

Speaker 4 (16:29):
And as a CIA plan, do you buy or sell?

Speaker 3 (16:33):
The conspiracy theories are changing the way society operates because
I think it is that it's scarce the ever living
crap out of me.

Speaker 5 (16:41):
No, I feel like people have always thought crazy things,
like since the beginning of time.

Speaker 4 (16:48):
Now more than ever the earth is flat.

Speaker 5 (16:52):
I don't think now more than that pretty crazy. I
don't think now more than ever, I think have you looked?
We have the internet, so we can hear what everybody
thinks you use.

Speaker 2 (17:03):
It used to be no way for you to.

Speaker 5 (17:04):
Know that there was a rando from Wisconsin who thought
that there were real lizard people. There was no way
for you to know that. But now because there's whatever.

Speaker 4 (17:17):
People aren't coming aware, b Mac. They're subscribing to it.

Speaker 2 (17:22):
How did they get subscribed to it? Back?

Speaker 6 (17:24):
There are substantial amount of people that believe that the
Earth is flat, and that TJ knows about the Antarctica
wall and what is behind it, and that's elkins.

Speaker 4 (17:35):
We can't talk about it here, how course not.

Speaker 2 (17:39):
So hold on real quick. This was your idea to
talk about conspiracy theories.

Speaker 3 (17:45):
TJ non telling me that he thinks his brother is
not his brother.

Speaker 7 (17:50):
Sometimes I got that part.

Speaker 5 (17:54):
But the topic of conversation should be BJ Penn thinks
his brother is a lizard. Hey, BJ Penn thinks his
brother's a lizard. And by the way, how about the
dissemination of disinformation these days?

Speaker 2 (18:10):
Huh?

Speaker 5 (18:12):
I mean I firm because let me teach you how
to run a how to run a show. I'm giving
I'm giving you an education, right.

Speaker 4 (18:19):
I almost had a stroke, Bmac. Leave me alone.

Speaker 5 (18:21):
It's based on your selection right here, I'd say you
did have a stroke.

Speaker 4 (18:28):
Well, we were talking about keeling thinking sports are all
you know? Worked?

Speaker 6 (18:34):
Quel is the earth flat? Hold on?

Speaker 2 (18:39):
Are we doing it again? I just pulled us out
of there.

Speaker 1 (18:41):
Do we think that the BJ Penn thinking his brother
is a lizard is connected to George Saint Pierre thinking
that he's been abducted by aliens? Like, is this the
same phenomenon happening?

Speaker 5 (18:53):
Yes, and that phenomenon is called drum roll please cte
t E.

Speaker 2 (19:01):
Brother.

Speaker 6 (19:02):
I just don't think that George Saint Pierre's on the drugs. So,
I mean, he might be on the aliens, but I'm
telling you right now, our boy bjpen is he's he's
sprinkled a little something on the top of it. Besides
traumatic brain injury. I think he's on the he's on
the math. Brother, that's got.

Speaker 2 (19:20):
Myth, that's got that's the myth. Words is there and.

Speaker 6 (19:24):
He's got matho he's not slept and what if like
what if jpen is on math?

Speaker 5 (19:32):
Good lord here, real quick, can everybody talk at the
exact same time?

Speaker 6 (19:38):
Yes, okay, all right, let's do it.

Speaker 1 (19:41):
Is there a possibility that his brother is into some
shady stuff like. I know we all think it sounds crazy,
but what if Bjpen is onto something?

Speaker 2 (19:51):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (19:52):
Bj Pen has claimed everyone is a CIA plant and
wears rubber masks everyone.

Speaker 2 (19:59):
I thought it was just as a lot.

Speaker 4 (20:00):
Of people know, this is not where it starts.

Speaker 5 (20:04):
Oh well, then his brother's no exception, I can. I
can get more behind that than he thinks. It's just
his brother who's seen forever. No, no, no, it's everybody. All right, then.

Speaker 6 (20:15):
I think I know a couple of cia plants now
as you see it.

Speaker 4 (20:21):
I don't even know if you're being honest. That's a
bad part. This is what I'm saying.

Speaker 3 (20:28):
The conspiracy theories are ruining the world three times.

Speaker 2 (20:33):
Three times he tried to do it.

Speaker 6 (20:35):
It's making it a little spicy, all right.

Speaker 4 (20:38):
Last buy or sell?

Speaker 3 (20:40):
Patty pimblet may Or may not be a future UFC
legweight champion, but this fight between him and Michael Chandler
coming up Saturday in Miami is really about getting Connor
McGregor back in the octagon. Does the winner of this
fight face Connor McGregor? Would you buy it?

Speaker 4 (20:58):
Man?

Speaker 5 (20:58):
I'd sell it At this point. I hate I've been
saying Connor is definitely coming.

Speaker 2 (21:05):
Back for all.

Speaker 4 (21:06):
Start with the man of the Mask, B Mack.

Speaker 2 (21:08):
I think I can hear you.

Speaker 4 (21:10):
Can you hear me?

Speaker 5 (21:11):
I can hear you both, Yeah, we can hear you. Well,
I'll just go ahead and say what I was saying.

Speaker 4 (21:18):
Oh sorry, I hear you now.

Speaker 2 (21:20):
Or you had your thing muted over there?

Speaker 4 (21:23):
Yeah a stroke, leave me alone?

Speaker 2 (21:26):
Good? Yeah, no, I sell it.

Speaker 5 (21:29):
I don't think Connor's I'm starting to think we're not
going to see Connor again.

Speaker 4 (21:33):
Ever.

Speaker 2 (21:34):
Yeah, I'm starting to think that he's done.

Speaker 3 (21:38):
Even in like uh boxing or BKFC once his UFC
deal does inevitably expire.

Speaker 2 (21:44):
What is it gonna expire?

Speaker 4 (21:46):
Dot?

Speaker 2 (21:48):
I don't think so.

Speaker 5 (21:48):
I think I think we're not going to see him
in the UFC anymore, which means we're not going to
see him again.

Speaker 2 (21:55):
I don't know. I'm starting to lean that way.

Speaker 5 (21:57):
I've been slow to come to that conclusion because I'm
such a big Connor fan as a as a fighter,
for sure.

Speaker 4 (22:04):
But there's so much money on the table that I
have a hard time thinking that he doesn't come back
for at least one.

Speaker 2 (22:11):
I think he's got a lot of money. I think
he's all set. I don't think it matters to him
that much.

Speaker 5 (22:15):
I think when he starts talking about I got to
go back to my roots as a fighter, he's just
talking about I need to quit spending so much on cocaine.

Speaker 6 (22:25):
That probably feels a little more rooted. But yeah, I
don't think that he's I don't think that he's coming
back either, especially he's doing his little political tour or
whatever and talking about the state of Ireland and maybe
going to lead into politics a little bit. I'm pretty
sure he has like a few other businesses in Ireland,
restaurants and bars and stuff. You know. I think he

(22:47):
would rather fight Patty Bimblett. Maybe if Patty Bimblet wins,
he might be enticed, But I don't think he wants
the heaters anymore. I think he wants to go right
around on that yacht. Not a bad idea.

Speaker 2 (23:00):
I'm interested in that as well.

Speaker 6 (23:02):
Turns out sounds pretty sick. Cutting weight to one f five.

Speaker 4 (23:09):
What do you think he's walking at right now? Because
he looks massive.

Speaker 6 (23:12):
He looks huge, bro, he looks like he's two hundred pounds.

Speaker 2 (23:14):
I was gonna say he looks like he's the one ninety.

Speaker 6 (23:16):
Maybe, Yeah, he looks thick in that suit.

Speaker 2 (23:19):
Shit thick.

Speaker 3 (23:21):
Would you put Connor as a favorite against either Chandler
or Pimblet?

Speaker 2 (23:27):
No, not right now.

Speaker 6 (23:28):
M in a cheeseburger eating contest.

Speaker 2 (23:33):
Dude in a dancing contest. At dancing, no one's.

Speaker 4 (23:38):
Beating Patty Pimblet at any food eating contest.

Speaker 6 (23:41):
I feel like Michael Chandler might do some sauce lessons
with his old lady or something like that, so he
might not. Connor McGregor might not want to see him
in a dance off.

Speaker 2 (23:53):
Yeah, sauce, I ain't gonna win the dance off.

Speaker 6 (23:55):
Dude, you go, but Patty, Patty, Patty Pimblet's little thing's
not gonna cut it either.

Speaker 2 (23:59):
Yeah, that's that's not the one.

Speaker 4 (24:02):
All right? You ready for hot take? Oh yeah, let's
do a hot take. It's time for hot takes.

Speaker 6 (24:08):
Did you good, Bulk?

Speaker 4 (24:09):
I'm not listening to this you are.

Speaker 8 (24:12):
Let's hear on my hot takes kind of hot takes.

Speaker 4 (24:18):
This is hot Takes brought to you by Godfather Jerky Chips.
Head over to Godfather Jerky Chips.

Speaker 3 (24:25):
Use the code b Max, save some money, Get some
spicy pepper protein in your life, Matt Elkins, He's got
the hot take this.

Speaker 6 (24:32):
Week spicy pepper protein. Yeah, so listen. First up, I
gotta say the hot take is Diego Lopez is absolutely
going to TKO one of our favorites this weekend in
Volkanovsky in round two. I just don't think that my

(24:52):
man's chin is still there. I think he is on
the struggle bush right now, on a serious skid, which
hurts my heart. And I think his gameness and willingness
to get back in there and fight another gangster has
ultimately been his demise, and I think that we're going
to see one of the final staples put on that
right here this weekend with Diego Lopez.

Speaker 4 (25:18):
Is that a hot take?

Speaker 6 (25:20):
I don't feel like it's hot at all, brother, But
I mean, I'm sure that there are some Volkanovski fans
that would be sad. I'm a Volkanovsky fan first of all,
which hurts me to raise the truth like this to
the surface.

Speaker 3 (25:35):
It bullk loses to Lopez. I don't think that says
anything about his legacy. I think we're removed from the
idea that Volkanovsky is still prime.

Speaker 4 (25:44):
Alexander the Great Volkanovski. You know what I mean, we're at.

Speaker 2 (25:47):
Least how it works, that's not how.

Speaker 4 (25:52):
It could work.

Speaker 3 (25:53):
Is still the greatest lightweight of all time in my
opinions on math.

Speaker 5 (25:58):
Uh here, I hear exactly what you're saying. Bjpen is
my favorite fighter ever. Yeah, but let's don't pretend that
the end of his career and the rest of it,
what's happened since the end of his career doesn't change
how you feel about Bjpen.

Speaker 3 (26:17):
It doesn't change how I feel about bj Pen. But
it also doesn't change how I feel about prime Bjpen.

Speaker 5 (26:24):
But Prime Bjpen is an iteration of Bjpen. The legacy
is not for prime Bjpen. The legacies for Bjpen.

Speaker 4 (26:34):
I disagree with that. Well, you gotta separate.

Speaker 2 (26:37):
You can be wrong. That's fine, that's the thing you
can do on a podcast.

Speaker 1 (26:40):
I mean, okay, I just got to give you clothes.
I just got to give y'all some facts here before
you carry on with this ridiculousness. Alex Volkanowski is only
thirty six. Alex Pereira is older than him. Y'all are
acting like this dude's like forty two and like way
beyond this.

Speaker 2 (26:59):
Prime I'm not acting like that.

Speaker 3 (27:02):
That's that's a mma math that doesn't add up. Has
Alex Pdeda have been knocked out in his last two
fights now.

Speaker 1 (27:07):
He's been knocked out multiple times over the course of
his career by men that hit twice as hard as anybody.
Alex fight, you're talking about over a year ago?

Speaker 2 (27:19):
What is it? What does it matter?

Speaker 1 (27:20):
You think Alex Berrera never had a fight after he
got knocked out with him but a.

Speaker 6 (27:24):
Year He's always waited and Volkanovsky made the mistake of
taking two fights back to back pretty quickly after getting
knocked out, and you don't got to make that mistake
but once or twice and then it's over forever. And
now your skull and brain is made of glass.

Speaker 3 (27:39):
Brother, I feel like we need to put a little
little wager on this between the two teams that are
coming out here. I'll clearly be Mack and Keelan are
on the same wavelength. Elkins and I are speaking the truth.

Speaker 6 (27:51):
It hurts me because maybe it sounds like I'm not
a Volkanovsky fan and I and I you know, I
wish that he were still the champ and never lost
any of those fights that he lost. But that's not
what happened. And I do believe that the chin it
has a shelf life. Some people's expire a little earlier
than others, and maybe even I'll take the hot take

(28:13):
one step further. Diego Lopez finishes them. This is the
last time we see Volkanovsky fight.

Speaker 5 (28:22):
I think maybe, Matt Elkins, you're not really looking at
this from a technical perspective, because I know that you
are an excellent striker in your own in your own
right now. I know that you have the eye to
see it. But just style versus style on the feet,

(28:44):
you think that Diego's gonna smash Volkovsky.

Speaker 6 (28:50):
Technically he's the longer fighter. I think that if he
were a shorter fighter and had less reach than maybe
we'd have a different conversation.

Speaker 1 (28:57):
But I think vol is way more Cristlin Lopez Man,
every fire ever fought has been longer. Thank You're like,
this is something he's super used to. I think'll he
is on the memory.

Speaker 6 (29:10):
He's on the back nine.

Speaker 2 (29:11):
Brother.

Speaker 5 (29:12):
I'm not saying he's not on the back nine. I'm
not even really honestly making I'm not even trying to
make that argument whether he is or is not I'm
just talking about this one fight. You think that Diego
is so crisp that he can out box.

Speaker 6 (29:29):
No, I think that he believes in himself and he's
in the most tenacious chapter of his fighting career that
we will ever see, the sharpest like a white belt.
Thank you for that, since a deep oose.

Speaker 5 (29:42):
You just said, here's what you just said, I'll translate it.
You don't know my mentality.

Speaker 4 (29:50):
He did kind of say that.

Speaker 6 (29:53):
No, I think that it's the same thing as Connor
McGregor versus you know, do I think that Connor McGregor
is too old to be fighting. No, but he's been
on a yacht eating steaks in buckets of cocaine, and
so it's just not that season for him. And every
fighter knows. Competitors know that there's a season where you
feel sharp and your blade is ready to be drawn

(30:14):
at all times, and then there's other chapters where it's not.
And every athlete has a time in their their career
where they were as sharp as they've ever been. A
lot of people on the back nine have to become
more disciplined to stay sharp. And I'm not saying that
Bolkanoxi's not trying to do those things. I think they're
two different seasons, and I think that we are going
to watch my man Diego Lopez put them put them away.

Speaker 5 (30:35):
It may happen that way. I just don't see it
as ultra obvious to me. It's a pick them fight.

Speaker 3 (30:44):
It's hot toe Kolkanovski's minus one twenty five favorite.

Speaker 1 (30:48):
I want to point out a possibility here.

Speaker 4 (30:51):
Is that the writers already read it this way.

Speaker 1 (30:53):
Is there a possibility that we're judge or we you, Matt,
arejudging volk u NTJ I guess are judging Volks based
on his last two fights that just so happened to
be knockouts, which you can argue for whatever reason the
knockout happened. But they also, let me remind you, just

(31:16):
so happened to be against the two most bad gangster
fighters that are in the UFC in modern day UFC,
in modern MMA, those are the two guys that you
want the least of, and he took them both on
short notice and lost. I'll give it to you, But
are we gonna hold that to him and say, oh,

(31:37):
he's done forever, he can't ever take a shot again.
Or is there a potential that he still got another
thirty six year old championship run like Alex Pereira just
had one of the greatest runs in victories in championships
and scariest guys at thirty six.

Speaker 3 (31:52):
Has Alex Bededa ever been knocked out in three or
four fights as badly as Alexander Volkonowski has.

Speaker 1 (32:00):
Bro He died whenever Ida Soignya got a hold of him,
and then he came back and had another fight and
he was fine.

Speaker 6 (32:07):
It was a little while, it was a little longer,
and it was a little while. And it's also but
I'm also saying that some people are just built differently,
and I don't know that those two guys. I think
that Bolkanovsky is an absolute gangster. And the blessing is
the curse. The blessing is the curse.

Speaker 2 (32:25):
Brother. He just hopped.

Speaker 6 (32:27):
He just hopped back on the horse a little too quickly,
which when you look at concussions and recovery like that's
the mistake. It's not. You can be in the worst
car wreck ever and you can recover from that as
long as you don't crack the old egg again too
early or too quickly. If you wait long enough. Hell,
you can, you can keep it up. You can, you
can risk it, you know in other ways. But if

(32:50):
you take multiple concussions back to back to back to back,
sparring too quickly after a fight, et cetera, et cetera,
which is what Bolkanovsky had to do in order to
make some of the turns that he made. He had
a very quick turnaround. I forget who knocked him out
the first time, but I feel like maybe it was
an immediate rematch that he had.

Speaker 1 (33:06):
But either way, it was huge the number two pound
for pound fighter.

Speaker 3 (33:14):
Not arguing that, not arguing that you're falling in love
too much, keeling with the quality of opponents that knocked
him ount. Yes, that's true, but the impact almost makes
it worse that they were two of the best guys.

Speaker 6 (33:24):
That was the mistake. That was the He needed a
game against Appalachian State brother and he did not pick
that up. He was like, we won't Bama, and that
is a mistake.

Speaker 2 (33:36):
That's a strong point as well.

Speaker 5 (33:38):
I feel like I'm just in the middle on this
particular fight. I think it could go either way. So
I'm enjoying here in the two checks.

Speaker 1 (33:45):
I gotta be honest, I'm just arguing for this side
of the coin, when in reality, I think Volkanovsky was
never as great as people thought he was, and I
can't believe he's done as good as he has in
his career.

Speaker 2 (33:55):
WHOA, Now that's the hot.

Speaker 1 (33:57):
Take was serious, brother, It was every he ever won
was a surprise to me.

Speaker 2 (34:02):
WHOA, how could how is this little dude do? Dude?

Speaker 4 (34:08):
See?

Speaker 8 (34:08):
I also felt that hit that hot. I felt that
way only come up. I felt that way only come
up a little bit. But he definitely, uh, he definitely
made a believer of your boy eventually.

Speaker 6 (34:19):
But that was a hot that was pretty hot.

Speaker 2 (34:22):
What you're saying, Matt, is that you're a fair weather fan.

Speaker 6 (34:26):
Brother. I'm an observer, okay. I'm like a sad I'm
like a sad boy that sits there and like taps
on the glass when it's raining outside, looking at those
puppies play. I wanted, I wanted to play with those boys,
but never got the got the chance to, you know,
and so I just I just keep it honest. No,
I don't know what that What does that mean? Analogy?

(34:47):
It's a lot of that's a lot.

Speaker 1 (34:48):
Of syllables, bro, Don't worry about it a lot of syllables.

Speaker 2 (34:51):
Dude, I think had a stroke up there.

Speaker 4 (34:53):
I did.

Speaker 6 (34:53):
Yeah, brother, he was just his.

Speaker 5 (34:57):
Screen was frozen. But then I noticed he was alive.
The screen wasn't frozen.

Speaker 6 (35:04):
Are we really getting to start a stroke? We have
to start the stroke bit because TJ had a toothache.
He came on.

Speaker 5 (35:13):
He's like, oh it a strokeless Like, dude, no, you
you had to brush your teeth last week.

Speaker 2 (35:20):
It's not the same thing.

Speaker 3 (35:23):
Thanks for tuning into the round. That's Mouth in the
Mouth of the South. You can get the archive on
