Speaker 1 (00:03):
If you're watching me, I know it looks like I
have a halo or something above me. I can't dreaming
about that. It's just life and letting it go. Hi,
it is Monday, So the term fourteenth excuse me, it's
the term fifteenth twenty twenty five. It's the SSO or
James Jr. I'm James Junior, super organizer, ten years in
doing the show. Hi everyone, how's everybody doing? Before I

(00:23):
get started? It's my important subject before I get started,
And they gave thanks and gratitude. I'm going to a
health issue right now, which I'll be talking about at
another show. You guys, we'll find out that. Will hope
you're following me at James Eugnior everywhere or at jail
jam everywhere. So I think my doctor for all his
work and hard work and and help me get through

(00:45):
this and all the different it's I had a horrible
doctor before that. I will hopelly say that. I won't
say his name, but he was horrible. But this doctor
is great and I'm very happy to have him in
my corner. I also want to give a shout to
my niece Jessica. It's birthday today. Thanks granted, to her
and all she does for me in our family. So

(01:06):
I'll see her later today. Ready to her, Okay, let
me get some of my coffee. So that's about something.
So for the last year or so I've had I've
been busy caregiving my mom, so I'm able to write
and focus on a lot of stuff. I've been putting

(01:26):
this book together, actually two books kind of together, and
I'm thinking about not putting one, not doing one of them.
As you see the title, basically question is are organizing
books obsolete?

Speaker 2 (01:44):
Now?

Speaker 1 (01:44):
I don't mean for the organizer, like there's like I
don't mean reference books, guidebooks for the organizer, teaching education
books for the organizer, if you're teaching courses or classes, ebooks,
that kind of stuff. I think that that's still viable.
When I did checklists, people oh my god, they just

(02:04):
people just went wild. But I'm wondering for actual the
personnel there, the lay the civilians, the lay person who's like,
I'm disorganized, I don't know what to do. Are they
going to buy a book? So many of my clients
and will be clients and friends have all stated they're

(02:27):
now going to chatch ebt and getting or going to
YouTube and watching a video or TikTok.

Speaker 2 (02:35):
Nice ever seen TikTok? It's still there.

Speaker 1 (02:37):
God to get super working under or super organized under
a minute, I'm thinking about doing compiling all those and
doing a book on that and kind of tying it
into TikTok and then may be reviving that series that's
something different by another book, which is all these tips
A to Z And I'm like, is that really worth it?

Speaker 2 (02:56):
These days?

Speaker 1 (02:57):
Are people really going to go run out and buy
a book then hold on to it and then try
to go back to it and I know how to
do a kitchen?

Speaker 2 (03:05):
Is that it? Now?

Speaker 1 (03:07):
There are some organizer friends of mine and I see it.
They're putting up books and they're good. Books are good,
but I have feel that sales aren't that good anymore.
It depends, I know, it depends on the generation too,
because these younger generations I've talked about on the show

(03:28):
for they're not into personal possessions so much. They're like
apps that go on there to go on TikTok. They
do on these things and just kind of get the information. Well,
they want them really quick how to organize that shelf?
They want to go to champion YOUBT tell them that's
it now. I have said on the show for and
I stand by it in terms of physical organizing, that

(03:51):
you'll always do organizers. They're gonna always use somebody to
physically organize. I mean there's people who won't, who may
not need it, but those who are not physically able
can't do it, don't have time, they aren't hiring organizers.
So I feel like that job is still good too.
We're really sally talking about the books. I've read some
amazing books in this genre. There the book that got

(04:14):
me into it, Organizing from the inside Out from Julie Morgenstern.
That's what got me into told me this was a business.
So a book was very important to me to get
me in here with. That was eighteen nineteen years ago,
almost two decades ago. A lot there was no AI,
A lot has changed, There was no Google, bad stuff.

(04:35):
But I'm telling them talking to people now, the younger folks.
I just looked it up on TIVT and it's star
because they started looking up medical stuff. It's looking at
you know, self help stuff. They're starting to but people
in those genres need to talk like I'm the book
coming out tomorrow. But as I'm one of like sixteen
people or whatever. It's a self help book, but it's

(04:56):
us telling our stories. See those are so needed. So
I wonder is it we have to change to what
kind of books we put out organizing wise? Is it
more of a personal stories as some of you guys
Now I have to go on the show I'm putting
together organizing musical. I think that's something different. And it's

(05:19):
telling a story of somebody trying to get organized and
all this stuff that goes with it. That's something totally different.
Now if I put that in a book, maybe somebody
would read that it was an organizing story or my
I feel like maybe it's my personal stories or my
client stories or organization. I wonder if that's the way

(05:41):
we should be going now. I feel like personal stories.
But in terms of a god, I had this one
book I was writing.

Speaker 2 (05:46):
I stopped. It was literally a guy saying from A
to Z, you're gonna do this.

Speaker 1 (05:50):
And I put out a couple of little small books,
little booklets, a little mini books that did pretty They
did okay for me.

Speaker 2 (05:57):
Put in a little mini books.

Speaker 1 (05:58):
They had like this is like one short out Sundays
and this was not and this was and I and
I noticed that when I have the specific what are
based on my courses too?

Speaker 2 (06:06):
I have courses I teach, They're based on my little courses.

Speaker 1 (06:11):
So is it a fact? Is it a thing of James?
A big ORGANI book abody cares? Do I just put out.

Speaker 2 (06:16):
Little books, little book lips on.

Speaker 1 (06:19):
Certain subjects because when I mentioned them, people are like,
oh my god, it's a great subject I do need
on Is it something where they read it? Once they
put it down, they put it to practice. Do I
include worksheets? Do I include include stuff in the book
they can paste in copy so they will go back
to the book and reference it. I mean, it's like
I said, it's a it's a whole new world out there.

(06:41):
And I'm just kind of a illusion with writing books period.
AI has changed everything. It's here, it's not coming, it's here.
So my thing is people are just writing their writting
books to AI. And I guess that's the new way now.
And it's okay, I guess. I mean it's it's to
people care out there. I don't know, but it comes
from organizing. We have our own styles. Is that still

(07:06):
valuable in book form?

Speaker 2 (07:09):
I have a blog.

Speaker 1 (07:09):
It's very successful and I love it, and I just
tell all that kind of stuff I don't get to make.

Speaker 2 (07:13):
I don't get many tips of organizing more coaching stuff.

Speaker 1 (07:16):
But in life, well, I asked something in there and
I realized it's it's it's read that first thing. That's
why you it. I just know I'm just over seeing.
I got this is really is. I feel like AI
was just brought up and all of a sudden it's
taken over. And again, I don't want to be blumen
Doom on this channel, went on the show. I'm trying

(07:37):
my best to just be a person who's observant and
who's collecting information and just kind of talking with you
out there, because I know people in the industry watch
my show. On people who don't watch my show, you
will tell me more thanything else. If I'm right or
wrong or different, I don't know. I just we're too
nervous because I like books. I love the books aren't

(07:57):
going to books themselves aren't going anywhere. But I just
want of this genre of book. Is we done? I
don't the answer. I'm gonna keep watching and keep learning
and keep talking to people. But for me, I think
I'm actually not gonna do one of my books. I
think I'm gonna sit back, rethink it, and we purpose

(08:22):
it somehow. Now with my TikTok book, I think that
my help is TikTok's big right now. So I could
still do my TikTok book. Put it out here's a
companion piece to the TikTok. I don't know that was
working out. I don't gonna sell on to that. Oh no,
So I'm reevaluating, which is a good thing to do,
just to stop dropping roll folks just kind of like, Okay,
let me see what's going on, figure it out. But

(08:45):
but I but I do have a friend fish. I
will say there was a lark. Her book is very specific.
I think it did well because it was very specific
and very in centric. So and she stayed that course.
We've talked about it. She stayed that course I and

(09:06):
I think it's why it was very successful. And she's
also on the road with it, and so I still
think product is good to have what you're trying to
get out there a little further than just organizing. I
know it's all I'm overplace, but I know overplace. But
it's kind of like that's that's that's where we're are now.

Speaker 2 (09:22):
We're all over the place.

Speaker 1 (09:24):
How I'm thinking we all should be thinking right now,
going okay, well what is really important and what's what
can we do? Because before it's like the dream was
like get a book out. That's why I put out
a big book because I've seen something way better. But
I have a point of view, and so I'm like,
but I think the big book is done. I think
now it's me just little books and doing my courses
and all that kind of stuff. So I you know,

(09:47):
the best thing we can do is pivot and change
right with the times. That's the best thing we can do.
So I will stick with that too. Exactly, what don't
you think? I mean, if you're in the business, if
you're in the organized business, you tell me how you're feeling,
write me, tell me. And if you are in if
you're just a you know, I'm not in the business,
tell what You buy a book, not anyson from me.

(10:09):
I'm just saying from just from any organizer. Because yeah,
you have a few fans will buy your books, they
are fans of yours. But what does that all mean?

Speaker 2 (10:19):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (10:21):
Let's see some of the things I think about all
the time because I'm trying to figure I'm trying to
go with the times, I'm getting older. I'm trying to
make sure i'm plugged in. I don't want to be
left behind. So yeah, that's the deal. We're here on
Mondays usually usually, and everyone be careful out there, whether

(10:44):
it's kind of weird these days everywhere hot, cold, rainy, whatever,
we're getting towards fall. We're still summer here in La
where we getting towards fall, So just be a little
careful where you are. Uh, that's where show is on Facebook,
X is your organizers on Facebook X and Blue Sky

(11:07):
GLJ media is everywhere. My blog and everything is a
lot of help dot com. We'll talk to you next time.
