Speaker 1 (00:04):
A lot of This is an SOS shorts here on
Monday at thirteenth, twenty twenty five, and I'm James, a
junior super organizer. It's my first short, first show of
the year, every twenty twenty five. I'm out here in
Los Angeles dealing with the fires and all of a
sudden goes along with it. I was thinking about this.
I've been giving you some tips here and there over

(00:26):
last week or so online, but what you can do,
you know, with situations like this arise, a natural disaster
happens or is happening, and for many of us, some
of us even had evacuation warnings or had to evacuate
or whatever. That's we got big talk, just big talk
of like what do you do? What do you do?
What do you do? And you know, as organizers we

(00:52):
talk about decluttering, you know, or just people who are
minimalists in our business or they just you know, the
less you have, you know, the quality of life you
would have. Well literally, I don't think we don't eat
tell this enough that way, it comes to natural disasters.
The you know, how your house is set up could

(01:15):
save your life or endanger it even further. And that's
something that I just kind of want to give a
couple of tips today about that first one, you thanks
you gratude to all the first responders, to all the
fire people, firefighters, chiefs, for everybody in fire departments who
have been tirelessly trying to put all the fires here
in Los Angeles. So we just it's I couldn't even

(01:37):
imagine you. Go on my Facebook pages and other pages
I posted places you can give. You can buy a
firefighter at lunch, or just you know, donate to different
organizations that support them, which is that's there. They're the
front line out there sometimes twenty four hours trying to
take care of this for us and save save people's
homes and businesses, and you are just stuff. So my

(02:00):
things are actually go to them. There's other things that
I did a blog post about this lunch long ago
for a publication. I always say that behind the doors,
the door and doorway areas are a major place for
clutter to happen and obstruction, and so one of my

(02:23):
tips is to, like literally if you have doors, side doors,
back doors, front doors, make sure they are clear for
exit and entry. If you have to run in your
house to grab stuff and run out, you need nothing
in front of you when that door can open. If
you have to leave your house, you got to make

(02:43):
sure the doors are clear. If you have any windows
that don't have bars, armory, and you can actually get out,
you just lookally get out. Make sure those are areas
are clear or easily accessible to get out. You may
have to leave a window. I mean, it sounds scary,
but you may have to have a window. It's you know,

(03:05):
it's something for you guys to think about it as
you're watching these things on TV and go through. I
have been in the fire for a house fire. Luckily
all we were very organized, so all of our doors, stairwell,
makes your stairwalls are clear. You're you're rubbing down the stairs,
no trip on something or a trip next to something.
Make sure you have clear paths in and out of
your house. It's very very that's that's just just like

(03:29):
do it now. You're like, just even if you have
you know, there's no disasterpping now, but make do it now.
Move that stuff somewhere else out of the way, because
you need you should have those areas clear, and so
it could it could mean seconds difference on your life
or whatever it is. And your stuff. So that So

(03:52):
that's one tip I want to mention. Another tip is
where is it now? I like, where is it? That's
how my hands. Oh, right here in front of me.
I have a pouch that has some important stuff in it.
I have another pouch with some important papers in it.
I know where they are. They're all together. If there's

(04:13):
a if there's a fire evacuation, I can grab those
two things easily and get out. You can't say, well,
this is the biggest tip of all. You can't say.
You can't say anything in your house. You just can't.
But sometimes there are passports burst out against certain things,
password numbers or have those all together, and a middle

(04:37):
fold or a pouch or purse whatever, But make sure
you know where it is. It's easy to grab and
you just take it and get out. My actually, my grandmother, right,
grand Susie taught me that a long time ago fighting
became an organizer and she had that and she had
told me this word is and blah blah, So just
have that. Like seriously, I have chargers little these a

(05:03):
little for your phone phone because they get up there.
Can I do that? Oh? Yeah, there you go phone, somimes,
your computer, laptop whatever. Have the These things are not
that expensive. I mean I I've already got one once
at I don't want at Walgreens. I got like twenty bucks.

(05:25):
They lasts. But you have these, go online. Get these
little battery packs. Have them, have them, have them. I
have the I have a small mini generator too. It's
over there actually by a door. My brother I used
to have a backpack packed with like water, first aid stuff,

(05:45):
go all things. But I was I can grab I
can grab that generator with a bunch of things you
can plug into it, you know, various things. And I
got my We got like a hundred of eight dollars.
Like it's not that expensive. If you have the money,
have it. You just never know, power to go out
and they can have just I'm just telling you, these
are a couple of things I think are just amazing

(06:09):
to have the case because as you saw Los Angeles,
you know, Christie, fire, fire could go anywhere, I mean
a spark over here, and and fires are fast. So
these are a couple of things that I just I
believe in wholeheartedly passing on to you because you're my
my followers and fans and and some of you guys

(06:29):
are my clients. I just got back from working a
really big job and it was wonderful and I love
this business. I love at what we do. Do you
need help called an organizer? There Cohiro, I can hire me.
I'll come do it for hire. But if you're somewhere
and you went to a logo high Schmo local where

(06:51):
you live, you can go to NAPO dot net or
come to me and I will pass on that to you.
I'm James, your super organizer. Super organ eyes are on Facebook,
blue Sky and on X knows and I'll talk to
you next time. M hm.
