Speaker 1 (00:05):
It's Monday, May twelfth, twenty twenty five. Hi guys, it's
the SRS Show Short. I'm James, a junior super organizer
and think here by my birthday wishes. It happened a
couple of days ago. I turned fifty six.
Speaker 2 (00:18):
Now.
Speaker 1 (00:18):
One of the things that I've learned over the years,
because I think it's very important, is working relationships. And
sometimes not everybody is compatible. It's not something bad, just
like you just you just it's not but your styles
aren't coming together. Communication styles that come together, may you
(00:41):
realize the job is too much for you, or maybe
something that they can do themselves. Like Either way just
doesn't mean anything bad. Although I want to use some
advice just from someone's been business sixteen years reporting other businesses.
I'm a fan of the at will agreement. I put
that all my contracts at will, which means at will,
(01:03):
and it's almost it's almost always implied for most jobs
that everything's at will, but.
Speaker 2 (01:10):
Bed hoad and writing.
Speaker 1 (01:13):
But I always say, put it in there at will,
not just protect them. If they're tired of me and
they wont get they want to fire me, blah blah.
Pro text me to you as as the business person.
I said, again, anything come up, You're like, it's not working.
You would hate to be stuck in a contract, be
forced to work together. When if something stops working, it's
(01:34):
easier to say, let's do this cut out clean. And
when they do at will agreements, always make sure the
second thing is kind of like any money's owed, its
return with it in two weeks or a month, like
you put all that in there. But the initial at
will thing is great because it's like a no fault thing.
It's like, okay, for whatever reason, for whatever situation, you're like,
(01:56):
I it's not working and I'm going to terminate the situation,
but I'll But like I said, but then the secondary
thing always having the claw clause, and they're like, I
have to return all stuff if I choose that will
because notimes, it can happen in the middle of a
session or a middle of it really happens.
Speaker 2 (02:13):
But I've had a fire a few people in my life.
Speaker 1 (02:15):
I'm gonna there's a seventeen years, sixteen, seventeen years, but
hopefully it doesn't happen to you. But in case you're like,
make sure you turn any materials in at yours. I
have my person and get get back to you in
twenty four hours or like a week.
Speaker 2 (02:27):
Whatever you guys come up with when you.
Speaker 1 (02:28):
First start, you put that in the first start an
it's sexual property, it's always your always put that in
there somewhere.
Speaker 2 (02:35):
If it's a digital thing.
Speaker 1 (02:40):
Anybody I said, any money you owe them back and
you where you're like, you know, I owe you this
much or or you owe me this much as you
came back to at a certain time. Put that all
in in your contract. You agree with with that with
your clients. I've had a couple of clients where I
try to say, trying to vac clims before I get started,
(03:02):
if I am a good fit for them, not just
a good friend for me, I'm a good fit for them.
I may know somebody else who's better at suiting their needs.
I pass them on. Twice It's happened in my hall.
I'm I and I have hundreds of people.
Speaker 2 (03:17):
Twice. It's half of my career where during the job we.
Speaker 1 (03:21):
Did a couple of sessions, I realize, you know, I
know somebody who's better at this than I am for
what they want. Because everything sometimes everything's layers. Your client
doesn't know exactly what they need. You don't know either
at first. As you uncovered, I can peel them back
an onion. You uncovera stuff, you're like, oh, they need this,
I go, I'm gonna pass you off. So I kind
(03:42):
of use the atlogoon on that said, I'm cutting us.
You pay me up to the end of the session,
but I'm gonna pass you on to the next person.
I used to introductions and get them started and get
them going, and I don't ask for no fine, just
I just pass them on to somebody else. But you
know it's fine. But that's something that's happened a couple
of times my gro It's like, you know what I'm
(04:03):
not sound like.
Speaker 2 (04:04):
Be an honest, transparent.
Speaker 1 (04:05):
I'm like, I may not be your body's taste or
skill level, or a cup of tea, or the way
I talk, or how fast or slow I go.
Speaker 2 (04:14):
For some people, they need very specific attention for certain things.
Speaker 1 (04:18):
But I think I just like you say, at will
agreements to me are some of the best things to
have in your contract, so it protects you and them
without any kind of litigation or nothing. Or if you've
a dangerous situation, you find yourself and you don't know
until you get there where you're like, yeah, I'm done,
I'm out. You know, I'm like, this is not happening,
(04:38):
and it's no fuss, no must, and it's I just
think it's something that I want to pass on the
folks who may may or may not be doing that
already or know about it.
Speaker 2 (04:46):
I'm just a big a fan of that. Super Organize
