Speaker 1 (00:14):
Welcome to the Sunday Word with Minister Anthony Smith on
an Easter Sunday evening. And I know I'm getting this
out to you late, but nonetheless it is the Sunday Word,
and we are going.

Speaker 2 (00:29):
To look at the title, He has Risen the Power
and promise of the Resurrection, The power and promise of
the Resurrection centered from Matthew twenty eight Versus one through ten.

Speaker 1 (00:55):
Normally we give you the scriptures, but we're going to
the scriptures in the outline of discermon So as we
have gathered in our celebrations at our respective services. It

(01:16):
is the celebration of the greatest event in human history,
the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. This is
not just a story or a tradition. It is the
cornerstone of our faith, the fulfillment of God's pregunct to plan,

(01:39):
and the source of our living hope. So first let's
look at the reality of the resurrection, and it starts
out we look at verse six. He is not here,
for he has risen. The resurrection is not a myth.

(02:04):
It is a historical event witnessed by many. The Angel's
announcement that the empty tombe confirms the fulfillment of Jesus'
own prophecy. The stone was rolled away not so Jesus
could get out, but so we could see in the

(02:24):
empty tomb. Is God's exclamation point to the finished work
of the cross. In other words, we do not serve
a dead prophet. We serve a risen savior. If Christ
is risen, and he is, then every word he spoke
is true, every promise is secure in every sin paid

(02:49):
for the power of the resurrection Romans eight and eleven.
If the spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the
dead was in you, the same power that raised Jesus
from the grave is at work and believers today the
resurrection changes everything. It gives us new life second Corinthians

(03:14):
five and seventeen. It gives us victory over sin and
death one Corinthians fifteen, verses fifty five to fifty seven.
And it gives us hope for eternity. John eleven, twenty
five and twenty six. We are not just forgiven. We

(03:34):
are in power. Resurrection life means we can walk in freedom, healing,
and boldness. The response to the resurrection can be found
in Matthew twenty eight, verses seven through ten. The woman
at the tomb responded with fear and great joy, and

(03:56):
they ran to share the good news. Jesus met them
on the way and said, do not be afraid. The
right response to the resurrection is worship, witness, and wonder.
We're called just. We're not called just to believe the resurrection,

(04:18):
but to live it and proclaim it. Are we running
with the message? Are we living with resurrection? Joy? Has
the truth of the empty tone made its way into
our everyday lives? Because He lives, we have hope. Because

(04:43):
he lives, we have a future. Let us live as
resurrection people, anchored in truth, walking in power, and proclaiming
with boldness. Christ is risen. He is indeed risen. So

(05:08):
I want to encourage you, even though this is shortened
to the point, I want to encourage you to live
in the life of the riserrection if you have professed
Christ as your savior, in other words, the simple plan

(05:29):
of salvation. Playing these states, at first, admit to those
you who have not accepted Christ that you are a sinner.
Believe that Jesus Christ is more than just a prophet,
more than just a good teacher, but that he is
indeed the son of the Living God, that he was
raised from the dead. Believe on him, be baptized, and

(05:56):
God shall be saved. So again I want to encourage
you to live in that life that Jesus has raised
you from the dead. In other words, he raised you
from sin. Walk in victory, walk in the power of

(06:22):
the resurrection. I hope today that this message of hope
and the power of the resurrection encourage you to live
victoriously until the next time. Be blessed, and be a
blessing
