It is the Sunday Bourber Minister Anthony Smith. Today we

(00:38):
of faithfulness Psalms one nineteen verses forty one through forty eight.
Choose the Way of faithfulness, and the scripture reads Dusley.
Let thy mercies come also unto me, Oh Lord, even
(00:59):
thy salvation according to thy word. So shall I have
wherewith to answer him that reproaches me. For I trust
in thy word, and take not the word of truth
utterly out of my mouth. For I hoped in thy judgments.
So shall I keep Thy law continually, forever and ever.
(01:25):
And I will walk at liberty, for I seek thy precepts.
I will speak of thy testimonies also before kings, and
will not be ashamed. And I will delight myself in
thy commandments, which I have loved my hands. Also will
(01:50):
I lift up unto Thy commandments which I have loved.
And I will meditate in thy statutes. Once again, we're
going to dive into the topic of choose the way
of faithfulness. I also want to say that as you

As we turn our hearts to Psalms from nineteen, the
(03:23):
longest book in the Bible, which is a heartfelt meditation
on the beauty and importance of God's Word. Our focus
today is verses forty one through forty eight, a section
that calls us to choose the way of faithfulness, trusting
in God's promises and committing ourselves to his word. In
(03:49):
these verses, the Psalmist expresses a deep desire to be
faithful to God in his commandments, trusting in his promises,
and standing firm in the face of opposition. Let us
explore what it means to choose the way of faithfulness
and how we can apply this in our lives. First,
(04:13):
we look at the promise of salvation and faithfulness. Verses
forty one and forty two says, let thy mercy come
also unto me, your Lord, even thy salvation according to
thy word. So shall I have wherewith to answer him
that reproacheth me, For I trust in thy word, God's
(04:37):
mercy and salvation. The Psalmist begins by longing for God's
mercy to come upon him, grounded in his word. Salvation
is not just a future hope, but something rooted in
God's mercy and promises. Trust in God's word, the Psalmists
(04:59):
reckoned is that true confidence and the ability to respond
to reproach come from trusting God's word. Faithfulness begins with
trusting God's promises even when faced with opposition. As followers
(05:22):
of Christ, we must anchor our hope in God's mercy
and promises. When reproached or challenge. Our response should be
rooted and trust in God's word, which sustains us. Secondly,
the power of God's word to keep us Verses forty
(05:43):
three and forty four, And take not the word of
truth utterly out of my mouth. For I have hoped
in Thy judgments. So shall I keep Thy law continually,
forever and ever, holding on holding on to the truth.
(06:05):
The salmon's praise that God's word remains in his mouth,
indicating a desire to speak and live by truth, hope
in God's judgments. His hope is in God's righteous judgment
which guide his life. Continuous faithfulness. The desire to keep
(06:25):
God's law continually reflects a commitment to life long faithfulness.
Choosing the Way of faithfulness means holding tightly to God's truth,
allowing it to shape our speech, decisions and daily walk.
(06:49):
What I'm going to do right here, I'm going to
take a break. I come back. We will conclude the
rest of this topic Choose the Way of Faithfulness coming
out of Psalms one nineteen verses forty one through forty eight.
(07:14):
We will be right back. Welcome back to the Sunday
(08:02):
Word with Minister Anthony Smith. As we are looking at
the topic of Choose the Way of Faithfulness, So prior
to going to break, we looked at several key points
of interest. In that first segment, we looked at the
(08:30):
promise of salvation and faithfulness coming from verses forty one
through forty two, and we talked about God's mercy and salvation.
As the Psalmons begins by longing for God's mercy to
come upon him grounded in his word. The second point
(08:52):
of interest was the power of God's word to keep
us Verses forty three and forty four, which dealt with
holding on to the truth. Then in the the third
point of interest was the joy of loving God's commands,
(09:15):
which is simply walking in liberty. The Psalmist finds true
liberty in obeying God's precepts, freedom from sin and its bondage.
And we, as Christians, we are to find true liberty
in obeyan God's world, which brings us to our next point,
(09:38):
the joy of loving and meditating on God's words forty
seven and forty eight. And it says, and I will
delight myself in thy commandments which I have loved my
hands will I lift up unto thy commandments which I
have loved, And I will meditate in thy statue. And
(10:01):
I reminded also of Psalms thirty seven, where it says,
delight thyself in the Word, and he will give you
the desires of your heart. This is something that you
have to desire. This is something that you have to want.
This is something that you have to crave. It. You
(10:21):
have to crave the Word of God like you crave
your favorite food, your favorite dish, your favorite beverage. I
believe in Psalms thirty seven, it starts out talking about
fret not thyself because of evil doers. Then as you
go down it talks about delight yourselves in the Word,
(10:43):
in in the Lord, and then he will give you
the desires of your heart. And I always tell people
there's an order to that. You have to first delight
yourself in his word. Then will you get the desires
of your heart met. So when you look at this
verse here of forty seven and forty eight, I get
excited because it says, I will delight myself in Thy
(11:06):
commandments which I have loved. My hands will I lift
up unto Thy commandments which I have loved, And I
will meditate in thy statues. Delight in love the Psalmist.
Love for God's commandments fuels is joy and devotion, the
(11:27):
lifting of hands and act of worship and surrender, expressing
love for God. Meditation continual reflection on God's statues keeps
him aligned with God's will. Choosing faithfulness involves loving God's word,
(11:47):
delighting in it, and meditating regularly. Our love for God's
words overflow into worship and a lifestyle of reflection. As
I get ready to conclude, those you who are listening,
(12:08):
this songs one nineteen forty one through forty challenges us
to choose the way of faithfulness. To trust in God's mercy,
hold fast to his word, walk in liberty through obedience
and love his commandments. This path is not always easy,
(12:29):
but it leads to life, freedom and joy. Let us
commit ourselves anew to the Lord, choosing to walk in
faithfulness every day. May our lives be marked by trust, obedience,
love and boldness and testifying for Christ. What I wanna
(12:54):
do now here is I want to close out in prayer.
Heavenly Father, we say thank you for your word, which
is a lamp unto our feet and a light to
(13:15):
our path. Help us to choose the way of faithfulness,
trusting in your mercy and loving your commandments. Fill us
with joy and boldness to testify of your goodness and
strengthen us to walk continually in your truth. In Jesus' name,
(13:39):
we pray Amen. May God bless you as you walk
in faithfulness. I wanna say to those you my new listeners,
