the wars, all the tension. We're going to look at
how we can have peace in the midst of chaos,
all right here on the Sunday Word with the Minister

Speaker 1 (01:10):
Now thanks to the episode, I'm want to welcome you
back to The Sunday Word with Minister Anthony Smith. As
I said in my introduction, we are going to dive
into Philippians four and seven, and once again it reads,
(01:33):
and the Peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall
keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. And we're
going to talk about peace in the midst of chaos
once again.
Speaker 3 (01:52):
I want to know that.
Speaker 1 (01:53):
This podcast, this particular passage of Scripture, is inspired by
young people. Those of you who know me know I
have a sports podcast and I have some of the
greatest guests that comes on that show. And I believe
(02:13):
there's a passage or a reference in the Bible that
said God will raise him up a nation that will
obey him. Because when we look at all the political
drama that's going on in our world today and in
our world I'm talking about in the United States and abroad,
(02:37):
it's refreshing to know that there are some young people
that are standing on the word of God. That's why
I come on my sports podcast. I say it's the
number one podcast in the state of Kansas's not because
of me, but because of my guest and I have
some of the greatest guests of young people that are
not afraid and not ashamed.
Speaker 3 (02:59):
Of the Gospel.
Speaker 1 (02:59):
Because we know what the Bible say about being ashamed, says,
if you be ashamed to owe me in the presence
of my father, if you be ashamed to own me
in the presence of men, excuse me, I would be
ashamed to own you in the presence of my father,
which is in heaven. And I can appreciate the young people.
I've had some on just recently and they shared they
(03:21):
favorite scriptures, and I use one of 'em to do
a podcast, or I'm using this one as well. And
at the end, I will let you know who inspired
this one, because I believe in giving credit to where
credit is due. But we're dealing with a world filled
with upheaval, wars, personal struggles, societal unrest, and it makes
(03:46):
you ask where can we find true peace? Well, the
answer is found in the Word of God and Philippians
four and seven. This verse reveals a divine piece that
transcends human understanding, a peace that can guard our hearts
and minds amid life's chaos. So today we will explore
(04:12):
how God's peace can sustain us when everything around us
is unsettled, and how we can experience peace and the
mystic chaos through trusting and his promise. First, there is
the promise of divine peace. As it says, the peace
(04:34):
of God is not just an absence of trouble, but
a profound sense of well being and calm that comes
from God him self. An And that is something I
believe that my dear mother, God Rest her soul, who
went on the glory back in two thousand and seven.
(04:57):
It was just something about her that she had a
about herself. She didn't seem to get unrattled, she didn't
seem to get flustered. Uh, she just had a calm
and had a smile on her face. I believe she
had that peace that we're talking about today that comes
(05:18):
from God himself. She always had a word, she always
had a song on her spirit. M matter of fact,
little little be known. I can almost say the same
thing about my wife because I hear her going throughout
(05:39):
the house on occasions singing a song, going around with
a smile on her face. An, And I promise you
I was not trying to marry someone with the characteristics
of my mother.
Speaker 3 (05:55):
But oops, there it is.
Speaker 1 (05:58):
And that's not a bad thing. And I thank God
for my wife. This peace passes all understanding. In other words,
it is beyond human logic, reasoning, or explanation. It is
(06:22):
a supernatural peace that only God can give, available to
all who believe. In other words, imagine a calm lake
in the middle of a storm. The storm rages around,
but the lake remains still and peaceful. That is the
(06:46):
peace God offers, calm within the chaos. So what is
the purpose of this peace? Well, it shall keep your
hearts and minds. In other words, this peace acts as
a divine guard, protecting our inner life from anxiety, fear,
(07:11):
and despair, all those things I just mentioned. We're gonna
go through it. Well, how do you know we're gonna
go through it?
Speaker 3 (07:24):
One? Because we are housed in a fleshly temple.
Speaker 1 (07:29):
Now get this, we are in this world, but we're
not of this world. But since we're in this world,
we are a subject to temptations. The other thing that
Jesus himself left on record, he said, if they did
(07:53):
it unto me, they'll do it unto the least of
the And even our own righteousness is as filth and rags.
In other words, we need to thank God for his
peace that shall keep our hearts and minds.
Speaker 3 (08:14):
Because this peace acts as.
Speaker 1 (08:16):
A divine guard against God protecting our inner life from anxiety, fear,
and despair. In a tumultuous world, our hearts and minds
are vulnerable. In other words, we're subject to worry and panic.
God's peace acts as a spiritual fortress. Think of David
(08:42):
in Psalms twenty three and four when he said, Yay,
though our walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil, for thou art with me.
In other words, his peace was rooted in God, God's
presence guarding his heart amid danger. In other words, David
(09:05):
knew he was gonna go through some danger, seen and unseen,
walking through it. Not just walking, but walking through the
valley of the shadow of death.
Speaker 3 (09:21):
In other words, death was imminent.
Speaker 1 (09:23):
Death was around him. However, he says, I will fear
no evil. Why because he knew that God was with him.
Speaker 3 (09:34):
That's where his peace was rooted, and.
Speaker 1 (09:36):
God's presence guarding his heart ahmed danger. In other words,
as some of the old warriors used to say, you
have to know that you know that you know that
you are anchored, that your soul is anchored. What I'm
(10:03):
going to do right here, I Am going to.
Speaker 3 (10:06):
Take a break right here.
Speaker 1 (10:10):
And when I come back, I'm going to go into
my next segment and we're going to come back on
how to receive and experience this piece. So you won't
want to go nowhere. You're listening to the Sunday Word
with mister Anthony Smith. We will be right back, So
(10:31):
w don't you go nowhere?
Speaker 2 (10:33):

Speaker 3 (10:52):
We welcome you back.
Speaker 1 (10:58):
To the Sunday Ver, Minister Anthony Smith. The hour is
getting late. I have to get up early in the morning,
but the this word here is so important to me
that I have to do it tonight. I don't I
don't wanna put it off until tomorrow, because we know
that tomorrow is not promise and the scripture plenty tells
(11:19):
us don't put off today for tomorrow, for tomorrow may
be too late. And and there's a word here that
somebody needs to hear it that's trying to find peace
in the midst of chaos. So in the first segment
we looked at promise of divine peace, the purpose of
(11:42):
this peace, and now we're going to look at the
next outline here how to receive and experience this peace.
And once again I wanna thank the young people that
I've had on my sports podcast, because these last few
(12:03):
podcasts I've done, I can honestly say they have been
inspired by young people. And you know, when us who
are older, when we get stackning and complacent in our
ministries and we feel like, you know, we we can't
be replaced. I remember hearing my dad, the late pastor
(12:24):
Luther Smith, God Rest his soul. He graduated back in
two thousand eight.
Speaker 3 (12:32):
Uh. He used to say it like this.
Speaker 1 (12:34):
He said, God would raise him up a nation that
would obey him.
Speaker 3 (12:38):
He would he would actually say like this, God would
raise him.
Speaker 1 (12:41):
Up a nation to young people that would obey him.
Speaker 3 (12:47):
He's not here to see it.
Speaker 1 (12:51):
But when I have these young people on my sports
podcast and they are not afraid to share they word
and they scripture, Why come it's their favorite scripture?
Speaker 3 (13:00):
Would it be?
Speaker 1 (13:01):
These young ladies playing basketball, these young men playing football
in high school? They are not ashamed of the Gospel.
And I can appreciate that because the Word also declares
that if you are ashamed to own me in the
presence of men, I will be ashamed to own you
(13:24):
in the presence of my Father, which is in heaven.
Speaker 3 (13:28):
In other words, that shame goes.
Speaker 1 (13:31):
Two ways, shame before men, shame before my Father, which
is in heaven. So how to receive and experience this peace?
Will bring your worries to God and prayer. What a
(13:54):
friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and grief
to bear, Oh, what needless pains we bear, all because
we do not carry it to God In prayer. Philippians
(14:14):
four and six encourages us be careful for nothing but
in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving. Let your
request be made known unto God. And Lord knows I
have some request. And at the conclusion of this, I'm
going to solicit the prayers of the saints, because I
(14:40):
remember our male course back in the days, they used
to sing a song that says, something's on my mind,
that's worrying me. Prayer opens the door for God's peace
to flood our hearts. With that being said, we need
(15:00):
to trust in God's promise. Trust that God is sovereign, loving,
and in control even when circumstances seem out of control.
In other words, let me say say it like this.
(15:21):
There there's a guy on KIV who likes to spew,
I would say, and he liked to say, well, if
God was in control, where was he at when this happened?
And that happened, and these other events happen. At the
end of the day, God is stilled in control. In
(15:44):
other words, don't get caught up in some say. Let
let me give you an example of some say, Jesus.
Speaker 3 (15:50):
With his disciples.
Speaker 1 (15:53):
And he pose the question, who do men say that
I the son of Man am? And they went to saying, well,
some say you are this, and some say and some say.
And Jesus just basically shut it down. He said, well, y'all,
(16:17):
being with me long enough, who do you say I am?
And that's when Peter stood up. Y'all, y y'all who listening,
y'all know who Peter is. P Peter was a rough neck.
Peter was a bugger bar Peter cut off a Roman
(16:40):
soldier's ear and Jesus Christ himself had to tell him, Peter,
you know that was a moment when they was in
the mister Chaos. He said, Peter, put away your sword.
He didn't tell me though it away. He told him
put it away. There was a difference between the two gods.
Save that for another time. And then there was an
(17:01):
occasion where Peter was hemmed up by them. Them damn sauce.
They they they, they said you you wanted them disciples.
The first time he was coming, he said, no, I'm
not one of 'em. The second time they said you
you wanted them disciples, and he said he was getting
a little bit agitated. He said, look now, I none
already answered this question. I told you I'm not one
(17:22):
of them. But by the third time they asking. And
it's something about that number three that thir.
Speaker 3 (17:27):
That third time.
Speaker 1 (17:31):
Said Peter went to swearing and said, I told you
I'm not one of them. On once again. Jesus Christ
was walking along with Peter. And this was after, you know,
Peter had denied Christ because Jesus had told him, after
(17:52):
the cock crows three times, you would deny me. So
they was walking and Jesus said, Peter, d you love me? Peter,
l Lord, you know I do. He said, well, feed.
Speaker 3 (18:07):
My lamb. He was walking along and Jesus posed a
question again.
Speaker 1 (18:14):
He said, Peter, do you love me? And I can
just imagine Peter's lady and now I already answered this question.
But Lord, you know I love you, he said, feed
my sheep. Well, if here comes that third time, Peter, yes,
(18:39):
do you love me? And once again it says after
that time, Peter once again went to swear.
Speaker 3 (18:49):
You know I love you, He said, feed my lamb.
Speaker 1 (18:52):
Jesus noticed Jesus didn't condemn him. He just told him
feed my lamb, And i'm'a throw this in. I'm'a get
back to the topic at hand. John three seventeen says
God sent his son into the world not to condemn
(19:13):
the world, but that the world through him.
Speaker 3 (19:16):
May be saved.
Speaker 1 (19:24):
Y'all had to go there to get back to here.
Once again, focus on God's words and promises. Meditate on
the scripture that declare God's faithfulness, such as Isaiah twenty
six and three. That will keep him in perfect peace.
Whose mind is stayed on the cultivate gratitude and contentment.
Thankfulness shifts our focused from chaos to God's goodness, fostering peace.
(19:52):
Practical applications in times of personal trial. When faced with illness, loss,
or financial hardship, lean into prayer and trust God's peace to.
Speaker 3 (20:09):
Sustain you.
Speaker 1 (20:11):
In family and community chaos. Be a peacemaker reflecting Christ's
calm intense situations.
Speaker 3 (20:22):
In the world at large.
Speaker 1 (20:23):
Share the Gospel's message of peace, pointing others to Christ,
the Prince of Peace. Then the outcome of embracing God's.
Speaker 3 (20:40):
Peace is this right here? A peace that guards.
Speaker 1 (20:44):
Our heart and minds enables us to remain stable, hopeful,
and joyful despite external circumstances. It empowers us to be
witnesses of God's love and tranquility and a troubled world.
I want to share this quote with you, says peace
(21:05):
is not the absence of trouble, but the presence of Christ.
What I'm gonna do right here, I'm going to take
another break and when I come back, we will wrap
this up.
Speaker 3 (21:23):
So don't you go nowhere. It's the Sunday Word.
Speaker 2 (21:25):

Speaker 1 (21:47):
Welcome back one final time to the Sunday Word Redminister
Anthony Smith on a Sunday night, as we come back
to wrap things up here, to those of you are
listening in the chaos of life, God's promise remains firm
(22:08):
is peace. Regard your heart and mind, no matter how
fierce the storm. The divine piece of God's surpasses all
understanding and keeps us secure. Today, I challenge you trust
in God's peace, bring your words to him in prayer,
(22:31):
focus on his promises, and allow his peace to reign
in your heart and mind. That the peace of God,
which should passes all understanding, be your anchor in every storm.
Walk in his peace and be a beacon of hope
to others in a chaotic world. We're going to close
(22:58):
out in prayer, and I want you all to all
this name TYSHAWNA. Smith. That's my daughter, my five grandchildren. One.
I know I have some grandchildren that don't mind and
that wouldn't mind going to church with their grandfather. Some
(23:27):
things come by praying. Something's come by faster than praying.
I'm not going to tell you what time in the fast,
how the fast window fast, but I want my prayer
warriors to go down in prayer with me as we
pray that this stronghold that the enemy has on my daughter,
(23:49):
that God is able to release it. I have a
desire to see my daughter saved and my grandchildren come
to Christ to know Him at a young age, that
(24:09):
they will be not just leaders, but spiritual leaders as well.
So as we close out, Heavenly Father, we thank you
for your peace, and the past is all understanding. We
ask you to guard our hearts and minds in Christ. Jesus,
(24:31):
help us to trust you fully, to cast all our
careers upon you, and to walk confidently in your divine
peace in the midst of chaos, and your peace reign
supreme within us and through us. In Jesus' name, we
(24:51):
pray Amen. Once again, this has been another edition of
the Sunday Word with Minister Anthony Smith. I want you
