current events, breaking new sports, and other topics that matter
the most with your boy, your host, Ricky d Think
and Reflect podcast show where you can voice your opinions.

(01:44):
What up, I'm gonna work on that intro. I just
had to put something together because I kind of get
a little exhausted when I be trying to shoot that
out there, so I had to make a little add it.
But yeah, welcome back Think and Reflect Podcast show with

(02:06):
your boy Ricky Dee. On today's show, I'm gonna be
talking about instant gratification.

Speaker 1 (02:14):
Ooh.

Speaker 2 (02:15):
We of course, the holiday of the day. Some fun facts.
You know, your boy Nelly in the news, Jim Harball,
he's staying in the news. In the Olympics were up.
Let me check them stats because I think I'm gonna

(02:37):
start off with them. The Olympics stats. We was winning
on them. We had the most medals. For a minute,
let me see metal cop oh we yup, we got
the most gold, we got the most silver, and we

(02:59):
got the most bronze. A total of ninety five medals
for the United States of America, and they got some
of everything in the Olympics too. They got skateboarding, break dancing,
they had some other little sport. Let me see some

(03:20):
of the new sports and Olympics. Yeah, I got excuse

(03:42):
my other, my big baby, and and recovery. I'm gonna
call it recovery. Or they got surfing. Let me see. Okay,

(04:08):
this is a good one, right man. Oh this my
boy co pilot. I'm gonna keep I'm gonna keep him
a secret. He out there. You just had to research. Well,
you can pay me to help you for ninety nine
dollars an hour, just saying we got to start somewhere.

(04:31):
But the Olympics got breakdancing. Oh, I said, have stuck
with the other one because it was given my info. Well,
skate skateboarding, surfing, and like climb, man, that's a new sport.

(04:53):
But breakdancing, breakdancing crazy because skateboarding has always been like
all of us are co petition. But skateboarding, you know,
they was Tony Hawk reinvented the skateboard. I remember I
used to try to skateboard. I could do a few tricks.
Not nothing amazing though, but it was amazing for the

(05:17):
area demographic. You get that. We was in the other things.
But yeah, the Olympics we up. Oh your boy and
Nali Let me get back to Nallie goof he was
sleeping in the dog mares. I need that time. Yeah,

(05:43):
Nellie get arrested for possession of ecstasy. That's him. Let
me leave Nellie. I ain't I was gonna make a joke,
but yeah, he got arrested. Really. Rapper Nelly was arrested
early Wednesday morning, Yeah, the Saint Louis Casino for a
Pacific traffic charge and possession of ecstasy pills. Nellie's whose

(06:12):
birth name is Cornell Hines, the second, was arrested at
four forty five am and Saint Louis by the Missouri
State Highway patrol Man. That usually what happens in is life,
especially when you get in another level where you're just
always in the limelight, you probably need something to take

(06:33):
your way. Some people use drugs, some people use vacations,
some people use working out, some people use but it's
like you got to find that something that give you
that peace. Some people combine and speaking of oh, this

(06:56):
was in nineteen twenty eighteen. Rap rather than talk control Oh,
he had a warrant. That's what it looking like him.

(07:20):
You know, of course him in Santia Gaze they about
to have a baby. Yeah, but Nelly Man not to talk.
But you know that was just some breaking instance news.
It's all types of stuff going on. But I'm trying
to stay away from the politics because that's a personal choice.

(07:43):
So most of the decisions are but personal. Man, I'm
trying to stay away from him. But that's when it's
all faith, facts, science and politics. You gotta ad a faith.
You know, you need some facts after you start believing.
But to get the facts, you gotta do some science.
And you know, when it's all said and done, it's

(08:07):
all about the politics. So yeah, fake fact, science and politics. Yeah, Nellie,
that's just something to talk about because he gonna get
that throughout. But you know who do it be making
the food? Let me Jim Harball. He always in the news,

(08:27):
but for some reason, he always seemed to still get ahead.
So his problems, his problems adds money to it. But
they say controversy sales, shout out Chameleonaire and Paul Wall

(08:53):
I'm just saying they had to mistake controversy sales. Yeah,
but Jim Harball, Jim Harball, Jim Harball. He got caught

(09:16):
up in some something when he while he was at Michigan.
And then when I was listening in to it, some
moost see I got the actor. One of the articles
pulled up. But when I was listening on the radio,
it said that even though it happened while he was

(09:41):
working at Michigan, it can infect his coaching job for
the the Chargers. He's the Chargers coaching But yeah, they
said he could wind up sitting out a whole year
off of this one. Let's see what happens. But let's
see what happened. Let me see for engaging and un

(10:08):
at the cold conducting and failure to promote in the
atmosphere of compliance against his number and then fractions, the
NCUBA announced he will also be suspended from all team
activities for a year should he return to college. Whatever

(10:30):
record the team he is coaching puts up during that
season will not count towards hardball record. This happened during
the COVID nineteen. Somebody refused to participate. But yeah, that

(11:12):
was some current events for y'all, man current events. I
really want to get to this, to this segment to
think and reflect segment. The thin can reflect podcast as

(11:32):
a dynamic and engaging platform where everyone's voice is heard
with a riot range of topics. You can expect to
be challenged, inspired and entertained with every episode. Make sure
you voice your opinion and listen to us on Speaker
by iHeartRadio. Yeah, getting back to when I was talking

(11:58):
about how people some people find things to cope, you know,
always do the holiday or the day. But I came
up and seeing this holiday and CBD. But in Ohio
on the Tuesday, what was that the six you could

(12:21):
walk in the store and grab you one. They hey,
I looked around. I just was just trying to see, man,
they not gonna make no money, trying to price the
price it like that. But it's legalized marijuana in Ohio.
You can walk in the store and buy it in

(12:41):
certain locations anyway. But the fact that when I went
on the site and seeing the prices, I say, they
know some people don't know where to go, but they
know about to be a lot of people come out
the closet. It's like buying a pack of cigarettes. Now

(13:02):
it just stay super expensive and you gotta be twenty one.
The least of ads. But yeah, that's a national holiday.
It's some more, but that's the one I rolled with.
Because this week in Ohio it's National pickle Ball Day,
Sleep under the Stars Night, National Dollar Day. Let's see

(13:28):
what they're talking about with National Dollar Day. Oh, this
is an important holiday. National Dollar Day on August eighth
commemorates the day Congress established the US monetary system in
seventeen eighty six. National Dollar Day. In eighteen sixty two,

(13:55):
the United States printed its first dollar bill. You know
whose face was printed there? It wasn't George Washington. The
first dollar bill featured Sam and Pete Chase, President Lincoln,
Secretary of Treasury. Oh, so we just learned something. I

(14:16):
told you always learned something when you tune in to
Think and Reflect podcast show. And the first dollar was
only printed in eighteen sixty two. So that means we
went from the medal and bartering to this money that
was back behind gold, but which isn't back behind gold now.

(14:40):
It was oil though it's looking bad on that. And
then and oh some other breaking news before I really
get into this segment, instant gratification. How some people struggle
with instant gratification. Wow, some people struggling. I you could

(15:02):
just struggle on the way. But I kind of understand,
and I've been understanding for a long time based off
my own research and knowledge, that hey, it ain't gonna
happen because you want it to happen. Now you can
set a date and plan for it to happen. But
let me finish this dollar eighteen sixty two. Oh yeah,

(15:27):
that's what I was getting too. I got the stock
yesterday the other day. It like it took like a
one point three trillion dollar white like it. It was
just hit. Hey, but it been going up. It been
looking good the numbers, So I guess that was just
another scared tactic or something. But yeah, it went hard,

(15:54):
but them was only stocks. Stocks really only hurt the investor,
the person investing when you buy shares and stuff. But
that's why you gotta do research on the companies and
stuff with them shares. So if you got money to invest,

(16:14):
make sure you invest in the time to make sure
you investing in the right thing. But yeah, let me
get back to this holiday today, cause it's it's some
more news on it instantly, I mean, interestingly, the dollar
bill in our pockets today that that hasn't been changed

(16:35):
for more than fifty years, while the five, ten, twenty,
and fifty aren't redesigned in recent years. As we know
them the orange, the ten is orange, the five is
like a green pink, but the twenty is green green,
and the fifty is pink, and of course the blue

(16:56):
is the hunting. Yeah. The dollar been the same though
due to counterfeiting. Redesigns keep the larger currencies ahead of counterfeiters. However,
the single dollar, the single doesn't face attention the more
significant notes see Okay, yes, National Dollar Day. So if

(17:18):
you didn't know the dollar, the first dollar was printed
in eighteen sixty two and the first dollar had President
President Lincoln, Secretary of Treasure Salmon P. Chase. But yeah,
I want to get into just say, man, what
