with you the journey of me creating my latest project,
mixtape One Morning Clip, and it's about staying resilient when
you're chasing your dreams.

For those of you who follow me, know that I
have been training for an iron Man.
Speaker 1 (00:58):
And for my first iron Man, I had to learn
how to open water swim, and the open water swimming,
one of the most unknown factors is which way the
water's gonna go right.
Speaker 2 (01:10):
So you can train and you learn how to do your.
Speaker 1 (01:12):
Strokes on a particular way, but you should learn bilateral
breathing because when that water goes in any direction, you
want to be able to adapt. When I got out
there in the water and I started practicing, there were
many days that I was just like, man, I ain't
cut out for this, Like I just need to find
something else to do.
Speaker 2 (01:31):
But then I remember the reason why I started to
do it.
Speaker 1 (01:34):
You ever feel like you want to see exactly how
far you can push yourself and what you really made of,
And in training for the Iron Man, that was basically
what I wanted to do. I wanted to see how
strong I could be mentally and physically if I really.
Speaker 2 (01:50):
Put my mind to it. So I stuck with it.
Speaker 1 (01:52):
I would go out to Coney Island beach, shout out
to Coach Doc and put on my wetsuit, going to
the basics, and I had to face my biggest fears,
which is fear of the unknown.
Speaker 2 (02:05):
You know, there were many days that when I be
out there in the water.
Speaker 1 (02:11):
You know, when you go especially Coney Island, it's not
like the most luxurious water. It's dark, it's murky. It
feels crappy, but it teaches you something. It teaches you
how to embrace what you can't see. But it also
teaches you to embrace the one thing that you can control,
and that is yourself. So I knew that at any moment,
(02:33):
I can control by breathing, and I can control how
I move my body, you know, and that alone just
basically kept me going. I would take that same mentality
and applied to making music.
Speaker 2 (02:48):
You know. Sometimes you.
Speaker 1 (02:51):
Make something and it could be really good, and sometimes
you make something that could be all right.
Speaker 2 (02:56):
But then other times you.
Speaker 1 (02:57):
Can make something really good, put all your effort into it,
it out there, and even with you putting money behind
it and thinking that you talk to your audience, it
just don't hit the way that it does. And you
have to remember within yourself, like why did you even
start doing it to begin with? For me, creating is
like a way of being free, you know, So every
time I create, it helps me to tap into that,

like it reminds me of what it feels like to
be free, you know. I encourage you, guys to whatever
you're working on every day in a journal, whether it's
the end.

Also, you know, I always have a saying of slow
motions better than no motion. I've been doing music, you know,
professionally now for seven years, but I've enjoyed creating for
close to twenty years. And in that some people may
be like, man, like how you keep going? Sometimes you
don't get them any streams, you don't get them any views.
You want to create something that is consistent so that

over time you can sustain when the waters get choppy,
and you gotta take small steps so that small steps
it is just you, whether it's exercising every day from
ten minutes to an hour, or dedicating time to your
creativity from ten minutes to an hour.

The processes are basically the same. It's no difference. It's
basically having the discipline to do so. And along the way,
you're gonna have disappointments, you're gonna have failures, but you
always have to remember the reason why you started doing it.

This way, you don't get tripped up on trophy or
the shiny token that you may get. You're doing it
because you love it. You're doing it because you're pushing
yourself to become greater and do greater. You know, so
