(00:20):
Annie poor Jesson was born and grewup in Sweden, but always had a
longing and love for Scotland. Intwo thousand and four, Annie's dreams came
true when she moved from her nativeSweden to Scotland to study English. Her
family were over the moon for her. Every time they spoke, she seemed
incredibly happy and was excited to seewhat her next adventure would be. Sadly,

(00:43):
those adventures would be tragically cut shortin what is one of Scotland's most
mysterious cases. In two thousand andfour, Annie moved from Sweden to Edinburgh
to learn English and got herself ajob in the hospitality industry. During good

(01:08):
time in Edinburgh, Annie earned herselfa scholarship at the Scotch Whiskey Heritage Center,
something that she was extremely proud ofand often spoke about to her family.
According to the website made by Annie'sfamily quote. She returned to Edinburgh
in two thousand and five, workingon a scholarship at the Scotch Whiskey Heritage
Center until August October twenty fifth. She went back to Edinburgh looking for a

(01:33):
nice job, and December fourth shewas found dead. During the last period
in Scotland. When Annie was lookingfor jobs, she got sufficient payments from
an unemployment insurance in Sweden. Betweenher stays in Scotland, Annie lived at
home with our family and therefore wasable to save a large sum of money.
From what we can tell, Anniespent her time between Scotland and Sweden,

(01:57):
and every time she returned home toSweden, she quickly left again,
yearning for Scotland. Annie's family describedher as happy, lively and very verbal.
Her mother wrote on the website dedicatedto Annie quote. Annie was also
a very good singer and liked toperform in front of an audience. She
spoke several languages English, French,Finnish and Tulgarian since her father is from

(02:23):
Hungary. Annie seemed happy with herlife. She was living in Scotland,
trying to find a job and hada flat at Linton Court Apartments on Morristown
Road in Edinburgh. So what wentwrong? How did a happy, lively,
young woman who had the whole futureahead of her wind up dead face

(02:44):
down on a beach under mysterious circumstances. Sixteen years have passed since Annie's death,
and we are still no closer tothe truth. On December third,
two thousand and five, Annie lefther apartment on Morton Road and headed for
the Presswick airports from eighty odd milesaway. According to Annie's mother, Gujie,

(03:07):
Annie had planned to return to Swedenaround that time. She added on
the website dedicated to Annie that Anniehad booked an appointment with a hairdresser on
December fifth in Sweden, so sheknew she was coming home, even if
it was just for a short visit. Edinburgh has its own airport and it's
unsure as to why Annie traveled eightyodd miles to a Presswick airport. It

(03:31):
may be that flights were cheaper fromPresswick Airport, although it was the only
airport offering early flights or specific flightsat that time. Who knows. Regardless
of the reason, Annie made theeighty mile trip, which would have consisted
of her taking a bus, atrain, and then two more buses and

(03:52):
then a short walk to make itto the airport. When Annie gets to
the airport, ces TV cameras showtrying to withdraw money from a card.
First, she tried to take outone hundred pounds, but she doesn't have
enough for this, so she triedto take out fifty pounds, but again
still doesn't have enough. In theend, she abandons this plan and begins

(04:15):
to make her way through the airport. This is where the first anomaly of
many in Annie's case occurs. Accordingto a Reddit post made in r slash
Unsolved Mysteries, Annie managed to movethrough the terminal in just fifty five seconds.
Independent investigators who reviewed the footage timedthemselves walking the exact same terminal concourse

(04:40):
and determined that it should have takenat least a minute and a half.
So they concluded that Annie was running, But why was she running? Was
she running from someone something? Otherpeople pointed out that Annie made it through
the concourse in an inhuman amount oftime, leading them to believe that the

(05:00):
snippets of CCTV had been cut andrestitched together, or that there was something
wrong with the CCTV footage that hadbeen edited in some way. More bizarrely,
Annie spent between three and five minutesat Prestwick Airport before leaving and heading
towards the town center. Annie's friendsand family said that she had no connection

(05:24):
to Presswick whatsoever, She didn't knowanyone there, and as far as they
know, she had no plans ofmeeting up with someone. There are conflicting
reports when it comes to CCTV footage. What we do know for sure is
that Annie's family have had to fighttooth and nail to be able to watch
these clips, and that the fullCCTV clips have never been released to the

(05:46):
public. Take note of this, because this will not be at the first
time that Annie's family has had tofight for information in her case. At
around four pm some source of sayfour thirty pm that same day, two
men walking along Presswick Beach saw thefigure of what they believed to be a

(06:08):
woman standing at the water's edge. The two men walked a bit further,
turned around and saw that the figurewas still standing there. It appears that
the two men, for whatever reason, did not interfere at this moment,
although they did tell newspapers that theywere scared that that person was going to
take their own life. At eightam the next morning, a dog walker

(06:32):
making their way along Presswick Beach foundthe body of thirty year old Annie Borgesson
lying face down at the edge ofthe water. Horrified, the dog walker
immediately called nine nine nine and summonedthe Scottish police to the area. Within
minutes, the scene had been cardonedoff and an investigation was opened. Police

(06:56):
were able to make a very quickidentification as Annie Big lay beside her with
her clothes, passport and other personalbelongings. Bizarrely, just hours after she
was discovered, the police recorded averdict of suicide, which struck the public
as very odd because the autopsy hadn'teven taken place. The Scottish police were

(07:18):
very quick to jump to the conclusionthat Annie had taken her own life by
drowning, but they had little tono proof of this. Annie hadn't left
behind her note, and as faras I can find, she didn't tell
her friends and family that she hadplans of taking her own life. In
fact, she was actively applying forjobs in Edinburgh. She had plans to

(07:40):
stay there and it looks like shewas trying to put down some concrete roots.
As her death was listened to suicidealmost immediately. The investigation was closed
and the Scottish police were happy withtheir findings, but Annie's family weren't.
No forensic teams had been sent tothe scene, there had been no door

(08:00):
to door inquiries, and the autopsythat had finally been carried out was a
bare bones report. According to sources, the initial autopsy discovered bruises on Annie's
temple and scratches on her arms, which were explained away as being from debris
in the water hitting her. Bythis point, Annie's family were furious with

(08:24):
the Scottish authorities and demanded that theyreleased her body so they could have a
funeral in Sweden. And that's exactlywhat happened. The Swedish undertaker found bruising
on Annie's body, with a palmsized bruise behind her right here and extensive
bruising on her right arm. Theundertaker also reported black and blue thumb prints

(08:45):
on her neck. The undertaker alsomade another shocking discovery. Parts of Annie's
hair were missing. It is unclear, due to reports differing whether Annie's hair
was cut off or whether it hadbeen pulled out of a scalp. However,
none of the details mentioned above hadbeen recorded in Annie's initial post mortem

(09:09):
report conducted by the Scottish authorities. When pressed to provide post mortem photos and
tissue samples, the Scottish government andthe associated bodies refused. Their reasoning was
that quote they may cause the familydistress and that their disclosure is not in

(09:31):
the public's interest end quote. It'snot just photos being withheld from Annie's family.
Though most of the files about Annie'scase have been classified as secret and
are heavily redacted. The Swedish ForeignMinister gave a statement about these files,
saying, quote information has been deemedclassified as secret according to the provision Chapter

(09:56):
of fifteen Section one of the PublicAccess to in Secrecy Act and has been
redacted to the attached file. Thereason for this is that the information concerns
Sweden's relations with a foreign state anda foreign authority, and it can be
assumed that a disclosure will damage Sweden'sinternational relations or in other way harm national

(10:18):
interests. No matter how hard afamily tries, they have been unable to
obtain the photographs, reports and filesconcerning Annie's death. It is very clear
that a large scale cover up isan operation. But the question is what
are they trying to hide. ASky News article reported that a document relating

(10:41):
to Annie's case had been incorrectly datedas August seventeenth, two thousand and five.
That's four whole months before Annie evenpassed away. There is also something
else I'd like to mention and thatis a man by the name of Martin
Leslie. During her time in Edinburgh, Annie met a man who presented himself

(11:05):
as Martin Leslie, a professional rugbyplayer who had capped for Scotland thirty seven
times. The kicker here is thatthis man, whoever he is, isn't
the real Martin Leslie. Annie toldher friends about Martin and said that he
was very full on and made herfeel quite uneasy. Coincidentally, Annie actually

(11:28):
ran into Martin in the days beforeshe passed away. The two had bumped
into each other at a pool thatAnnie went to quite often. Looking back,
Annie found it quite odd that thetwo had bumped into each other there.
She went swimming quite often there, and that this was the first time
she'd ever bumped into him at thispool. She told her mother quote that

(11:52):
she regarded him as a sexual predatorand she was planning to cut off all
contact with him end quote. Somesources state that Annie had become suspicious of
this mystery man, telling her friendsand family that she was being followed and
watched, and that her phone hadbeen hacked, and that all of her
texts and calls were being watched too. According to Annie's mother, Annie called

(12:16):
her on December first, and allshe can remember from that conversation is saying,
you have to respect this, butI have to take care of myself.
It is presumed that Annie called hermother to talk about Martin Anne,
to give her an update on plansfor coming home, etc. Bizarrely,
there is no record of his callever taking place. In fact, there

(12:41):
are no records of any calls fromDecember first up until December fourth, two
thousand and five, when Annie wasfound dead. Annie's mother logged into her
email account and began looking for anythingsuspicious or anything that might lead them in
the right direction, only to findthat her inbox had been completely wiped clean.

(13:05):
There was nothing in the inbox, outboxed, draft, etc. It
was all gone. Maria, Annie'sclose friend, decided to call the phone
company that Annie was with and requestphone logs to help the investigation progress.
Funnily enough, Maria was met withphone resistance and then the company straight up

(13:26):
refused to hand them over or todiscuss that case with her any further.
They did disclose that there were norecords on Annie's phone from December first,
as previously mentioned, but this wasa fact that was counted by friends and
family who explicitly remember speaking to Annieduring that period. From the government to

(13:48):
the phone company, nobody was willingto cooperate or talk about Annie's case.
Sixteen years later and we are stillat the same dead end with Annie's case.
Her family are still fighting the Scottishgovernment for records, photos and answers,
but has so far got in nowhere. There is a huge conspiracy tied

(14:16):
to Annie's case, and I dowant to mention before I wrap this video
up. I'm not sure how muchcredence we can give to this theory,
but it is worth a mention. The conspiracy ties to the Rendition programs,
which was an operation run by theCIA and m I six. The two

(14:41):
agencies were working together to combat thequote War on Terror and apparently use Presswick
Airport as their base. I sayapparently because of course, the CIA and
m I six deny the existence ofthis program. This is where things take
a bit of a wild tone.Annie's friend Maria began digging into Annie's case,

(15:05):
and she began scouring the Internet forany connection or clue that she could
find, and that's when she stumbledupon a US journalist named Christina Borgesson Annie's
full name was Annie Christina Borgesson, but she chose to go by her first
name, Christina. The US journalistwas poking her nose into the radition program

(15:30):
and was a vocal critic of USforeign policy at the time. Is it
possible that Annie Bodgesson was falsely identifiedas Christina Bodgesson and taken care of.
Maria believes that this could explain whyAnnie's emails and phone records were all wiped
and why all files are censored. When Gugie and Maria began digging further into

(15:58):
Annie's case looking for emails and phonerecords, they reported some pretty weird goings
on for themselves. They reported thatthey were having troubled access in their email
accounts, and Maria told The DailyStar that she began receiving silent calls that
taunted her for months on end.As far as the Scottish government concerned,

(16:18):
Annie Brodgesson took her own life onthat cold December morning, but her friends
and family are not convinced. Annie'smother has been very vocal about her fight
for justice, telling the media quote, this is a beautiful country with lovely
and caring people. Please do notleave them and our family. With all

(16:38):
of these unanswered questions. All wewant is a fatal incident inquiry into Annie's
mysterious death. Please let us knowwhy Annie had to die in the country
she loved. End quote. Anyonewith information should contact crimestop as UK and
leave an anonymous tip on O eighthundred five one one one. Also,

(17:04):
please help out Annie's mother by signingpetitions, spreading the word and just supporting
her in any which way that youcan. Annie's mother Guji has amassed over
three thousand signatures and has the backingof Scottish celebrities and political figures. Whether
this is a wild scale cover up, whether this is a case that has

(17:27):
deep ties to the CIA and mI six, or that there's something just
a lot more nefarious going on.Annie and Annie's family deserve to have answers.
I've been true crime, which Iwill see you in the next video.
