protected from the harshness consequences of not paying back their loans.
The US Department of Education has announced that federal government
will resume involuntary collections soon. The loanholders will start the
process of taking money from the paychecks of barers who
have missed their payments for two hundred and seventy days

or more. They'll also start moving to collect from other
federal payments, including tax refunds and Social Security benefits. Education
Department officials said the agency will urge barros in their
emails to either pay their bills, enroll in an income
driven repayment plan, or sign up for loan rehabilitation or consolidation.

Church traditionalists and inspired progressiveness by reaching out to gay

more than two thousand years, including how to choose the

of mourners have filled Saint Peter's Square. His cause of

a show about politics and contemporary. Issues and now Here's Eric.

Speaker 14 (06:41):
Bauman welcod, afternoon ladies and. Gentlemen welcome to a, nice
cloudy or Hazy wednesday. Afternoon and we got a lot
to cover, today as always seems. Endless i'm joined today
by Doctor Michael, Blitz Professor emeritis At City university Of

(07:03):
New York John Jay, college and let's just jump right.
In by the, way how are, You, Michael i'm.

Speaker 15 (07:16):
Good it's good to be.

Speaker 14 (07:17):
Here back off that, phone just a, hair, Yeah so
what do you think About trump's crazy gambit.

Speaker 9 (07:41):
WITH uh.

Speaker 14 (07:46):
Colleges and universities and and THE uh the. TAXES i,
mean what do you think about all?

Speaker 8 (07:57):
This, WELL i can tell you that the pressure That
trump has brought On harvard as the kind of exemplar
is much more complicated than most people, realize although maybe
people are starting to get the. Idea but, purportedly he

(08:20):
has decided that he's going to crack down on Anti,
semitism and because there have been these college wide protests
throughout the, country he's decided to pretend to be the
champion of the cause to crack down on Anti. Semitism
and in addition To, columbia he's gone After harvard and

(08:40):
said that he's going to cut federal funding for their
research and cut their nonprofit status unless they meet ten,
conditions one of which is to this is very, ironic
by the, way hire a diverse faculty and recruit them
verse students to achieve what he calls what he and

(09:03):
his minions called viewpoint. Diversity of, course this is while
he wants to DISCONTINUE dei programs across the. Country so
under the guise of combating Anti, semitism he is imposing
these measures On. Harvard. Harvard The harvard, president whose name

(09:24):
Is Alan, garber he has resisted. This he's refused to
give in To trump's directives and in fact is initiated
and he is participating in a lawsuit against The trump.
Administration and his argument is That trump's effort to freeze
over two billion dollars in, federal, federal federally funded grant

(09:49):
money To harvard and also to revoke their nonprofit, status
that these are, illegal this is the private, institution and
that he can't simply do, This and so the president
Of harvard is reason existing this and other colleges are
getting on. Board other universities are getting on. Board and
so that's part. One and if you're just give me another,

(10:09):
Second i'm going to give you part, two and then
a surprising part. Three part two is that this so
called initiative to combat Anti semitism is having the exact opposite.
Effect in, fact what's happening is that because the administration

(10:29):
is saying That, harvard in this, case you're going to
lose all this money and all the status if you
don't combat anti, semitism that is making people blame The
jewish people more and more for these drastic. Cuts jewish
students and faculty are, protesting saying you're making us into

(10:51):
the scapegoat that it's because where people are against us
that you're cutting all this, funding but you're also cutting
things that we're part of. That you're cutting research, programs
you're cutting laboratory, programs you're cutting you, know all kinds of,
funded funded, programs and it's and it's harming. Everyone and

(11:13):
so everyone who is harmed by these cuts blames it
on this kind of Weird Trumpian i'm going to fight
against Anti, zionism Anti. Semitism the third part of, this,
though is way worse than Anything i've just, said and
that is number, one it's a lie that this has

(11:36):
anything to do with combating Anti, semitism and the truth
WHAT i believe to be the truth is this is
an absolutely, rehearsed planned attack on higher education at the
at the most inaccessible levels of private university as prestigious As,

(11:56):
harvard to micromanage higher. Edgecation because going all the way
back to, McCarthy when you can micromanage higher, education you
micromanage what information people are able to not only, get
but also the process and, analyze and so you end
up with an uneducated. Public and that's exactly the kind

(12:19):
of public that This trump administration is trying to shape
because it becomes a, malleable obedient. Culture that's what this is.
About it's not about Anti semitism, SOMEWHAT i, mean on
the surface it. Is this is really About trump's attempt
to micromanaged higher education in, general even at its strongest,

(12:43):
terminals places Like.

Speaker 1 (12:44):
Harvard.

Speaker 8 (12:50):
Unbelievable, SORRY i just threw a great BIG i just
threw a great Big matza ball out.

Speaker 1 (12:53):
THERE i.

Speaker 14 (12:54):
Realized but, no, no, no, NO i don't think it. Did,
ACTUALLY i think you throughout a reality that we all
need to be thinking, about that we all need to
be aware.

Speaker 8 (13:07):
OF i want to give you an, example by the,
way as you, know because you AND i talked endlessly about,
this but where my old, University City university Of New
york and The college Of Criminal justice in my, case
there was an increasing presence of Anti, zionism Anti israel,

(13:28):
sentiment Anti israel, activities and it got to the point
even where there was a proposal which in a weird
way almost, passed barring Any israeli speakers from coming to
the university or the colleges if they had ever been
in The Israeli defense, forces if they'd ever been A

(13:49):
israeli political office. Holder they were going to be barred
from speaking at various community colleges because they were because
they were Pro, israel because they were Is No, prosionism Pro,
jewish and the various presidents at these colleges did whatever
they could to try to make this seem like a

(14:12):
free speech issue and that we have to listen to both,
sides and both sides have legitimate, grievances and very few
college presidents or any other college administrators were able to
cut through the rhetoric to, say, simply it's wrong to
think that this is A First amendment. Matter if we're

(14:32):
allowing one party to do all the free speech and
squelching the other, side whatever other, side from having free.
Speech nobody kind of team out and asserted that irony
or that. CONTRADICTION i should, say, instead there were all
these capitulations, to, well, okay we have, to on a

(14:56):
case by case basis analyze whether this is a speaker
worth having at one of these college, events university events From.
Israel at no time was there ever any organizational administrative
resistance to having Anti israeli speakers doing public lectures and

(15:17):
public speeches at these, universities And i'm not talking about the.
Protesters i'm talking about so called intellectual speakers and so
called scholars coming in to speak Blasting, israel Blasting. Zionism
they were not vetted at. All and so it's easy

(15:38):
to sell the, idea which is What trump is counting.
On it's easy to sell the idea that what he's
doing is trying to create a better balance and he's
trying to combat that Anti semitic thread that's running Through
and you see people, saying, wow he at least he's
Championing israel And, zionism and he's championing the cause of
fighting Anti, semitism when you're also cutting programs and research

(16:04):
and education that is shared by, everyone that everyone benefits by.
That we're talking about disease research and political, research and
resource research and climate. Research when you start cutting these
under the name of fighting Anti, semitism you're not only

(16:26):
cutting out, education but you're creating much more rancor towards
the group that you're supposedly trying to.

Speaker 14 (16:34):
PROTECT i want to just cut you off for a,
second so you, know Suddenly trump has backed off from
his trying to back off from his tariffs On, china
and The chinese are mocking. Him they're Saying trump chickened.

(16:57):
Out and you know that's the kind of thing that
Drives trump crazier than.

Speaker 8 (17:07):
Anything, right wonder what his reaction to that will, Be
first to the, tariffs then he withdraws the. Tariffs now
he's called the. Chicken now what does he?

Speaker 14 (17:16):
Do, well clearly he proved one. Thing china is not
afraid of.

Speaker 8 (17:26):
Him i'm beginning to think there aren't many people left
in the world who are Except. Americans, well you could
be right about. THAT i know we're going to talk
about it later the, plan but just AS i guess appetizer,

(17:49):
here that's the sentiment about the fear and The americans
About trump and his vengeful. Nature you Have republican senators
as we, Know murkowski being one that we'll talk about,
later but she has said that people are too scared
to speak, out even people elected to do that very,

(18:09):
thing to speak. Out so the fact that he's so,
retaliatory you, know that is that is cause for. Concern
but the world doesn't back him up.

Speaker 14 (18:23):
Anymore, well you, know he came out with a big
mouth and everybody was going to listen to. Him he
was going to be in charge of the. World you, know.

Speaker 8 (18:44):
Ye well announced. Me no go, ahead, sorry oh go, ahead. Finish,
WELL i was gonna, say you said to. Me we
spoke yesterday and you were saying we were talking About
musk in the fact of the seventies was just, less you,
know lost seventy percent of its, value and That musk
is going to be pulling back on his involvement and you,

(19:06):
know his administrative. Function the bottom line is always that
either you genuflect To, trump you either show that you worship,
him or you're. Disposable and So musk's money remains important To,
trump But musk is rapidly becoming an, embarrassment as so

(19:29):
many of these other efforts that you, Know harvard is
becoming an embarrassment to him. Too and When trump gets,
embarrassed he lashes out like a you, know child throwing a.
Tantrum and it's unpredictable what he's going to. Do and
that's that's the. Dangers we don't know what he's going to.
Do it's probably not going to be directly related to these.

(19:50):
Things it will be something else to draw attention away
from what embarrassed him towards something that he thinks he
can prove mastery. Over he's certainly not proving mastery Over.
China you, know he wanted to impose one hundred and
forty five percent, tariff And tennis, said, finally will impose
one hundred and something percent Tariffying America's.

Speaker 14 (20:14):
Yeah, yeah it's pretty uh, oh the thing is pretty screwed.
Up are local races with a guy Like trump in?
Office or are local races still? Relevant the short answer is.

(20:41):
Yes the longer answer is. Yes it doesn't feel that
way right.

Speaker 8 (20:49):
NOW i know. THAT i, mean you AND i talk
to people all the time about how they feel about
the current political climate and what can be. Done there's
a lot of defeatism right. Now but low elections are
are a different species than national. Elections in, FACT i
don't know anybody who knows more about this than. You
But i'm Not i'm preaching to the converted. Here but you,

(21:10):
know for the one, thing local elections shape. COMMUNITIES i
mean they define communities in a lot of, ways and
communities are building, blocks you, know on a state level national.
Level they your local, votes your local elections control where
tax money, goes where your local tax money, goes and

(21:34):
that means it also has an impact on other public,
officials you, know board, members department, heads because you're you're
voting on whether or not those departments and boards will
be financially, solvent whether they'll continue to exist and those.
Boards everything trickles up, to you, know in terms of.
Governance and it also local. Votes you, know local, votes

(21:59):
local elections don't get covered much by the, media and
so in order to, vote you need to learn on
your own who these people are that you're voting, for voting.
Against and because there's always a much lower voter turnout
in local, elections it's very very. Low, usually that means
that every vote has more. Weight so there is a

(22:21):
sense that your vote in a local election has tremendous.
Power and that's an important part of The american psychology of,
elections is of. Voting you need to feel like your
vote is, powerful and local elections it most certainly.

Speaker 16 (22:36):
Is.

Speaker 8 (22:37):
So, YES i think that local elections and votes are
vitally important and people need to. Participate what do you, Think.

Speaker 14 (22:50):
WELL i think you sort of summed up my. View
as you, KNOW i spent a lot of years running
local government political party largest in the country AND i don't,

(23:12):
know it's it's it's a very difficult place to be,
in especially with you, know crack pots like these running.
Around but the reality, is you, know you do get

(23:34):
you do get cold from all of. This you know
WHAT i, Mean you start to lose Your you're not
gumption isn't the right. Word you start to lose your.
Energy i'll put it that, way because it feels like
you're never, winning when in, reality you're probably winning more

(23:58):
if you're a mayor's city council member or some such,
thing because you have a more direct. Effect you think
about for just a. Second So Karen bass was out

(24:20):
of the country when the fire, struck and whatever the
ends and the outs of the story, were she fired
the fire. CHIEF i don't know. WHY i think there's
a pun in, there but, okay we'll leave.

Speaker 1 (24:37):
It she.

Speaker 14 (24:42):
Fired the fire. Chief she came back and she's trying
to reset local. Government and you, know if she was
back in The, congress excuse, Me i'm. Sorry if she

(25:06):
was back in The, congress she could not do. That
she wouldn't have that kind of. Power, so you, know
there's a lot for us to be watching for and
looking at and looking out. For and it's not just

(25:28):
a chopped.

Speaker 8 (25:29):
KITCHEN i, know The New york mayor all raises an
example of a local election with, national you, know, ramifications
especially because the guy running with the front runner right
now Is Mario.

Speaker 1 (25:49):
Cuomo.

Speaker 8 (25:52):
Uomo, yeah so that's a local election that we'll have national.

Speaker 14 (25:58):
IMPLICATIONS i will say to you Watching cuomo when he
did his little announcement from THE i don't know whatever they.
Call it's not The oval, office but you know we're

(26:19):
we're in City. Hall they did that, stuff he just
seemed naturally like he belonged.

Speaker 8 (26:28):
There, well he certainly Knows New york both at the
state and local at the city, level and and you,
know he, listened he was he had his, scandals and
it seems like power, corrupts but he also was an effective,
governor AND i have no doubt he will be a

(26:50):
more effective governor than the current, one effective mayor rather
In New York city than the current. One and we
know that the current Mayor, adams there as a pipeline
of some sort between him and The trump. Administration it's
still not clear to me exactly what it, was BUT
i Think cuomo it will be far better at Resisting trump's,

(27:11):
various despiteful acts Toward New.

Speaker 14 (27:14):
YORK i found THAT.

Speaker 9 (27:23):
I found That.

Speaker 14 (27:32):
Cuomo seemed to have his arms wrapped around most of
what was going on in the. State the stuff he
got in trouble for is the stuff they all get
in trouble, for you, know fooling around with. Women M i,

(27:54):
mean it's just a. Reality not a good, reality but
it's a.

Speaker 8 (27:58):
Reality And i'm NOT i wouldn't want to negate any
of the of the the darkest implications of his. Behaviors
BUT i also you, know there's a nine, million ten
million people to deal, with AND i think he would

(28:21):
be a much more effective leader than anybody that's stepped
up yet to.

Speaker 14 (28:27):
RUN i remember When Eric adams first got elected and
he was running around and saying he's the example of
the New. Democrat, well, anyway we got to go to
break in a. Minute BUT i want you to think about.

(28:47):
That he went from telling everybody he was the example
of the New democrat to where we are today that
he's surviving based on the hopes That trump is going
to pardon. Him think about, that. Anyway this Is Eric,

Gentlemen this Is Eric, boman host of The Uncommon Since,
democrat right here ON Nbc. Radio i'm joined today by
Doctor Michael, Blitz Professor meritis At City university Of New,
York John Jay, college and we've got a full. Agenda
we've already covered two very heavy. Topics, michael the next

(33:10):
question is can constitutional law be enforced If scotis fails
to Resist, Trump.

Speaker 8 (33:20):
No it can't. Be That's scotus's primary job is to
interpret of The constitution and to resolve disputes about whether
something is, constitutional and their decisions are final unless you

(33:43):
amend The constitution or unless another case comes before them
that somehow supersedes the one they've. Decided but if The
Supreme court of The United states will not enforce The,
constitution than who's going to you, Know congress has only
limited ability to you, know propose interpretations of The constitution

(34:10):
or even amendments of The. Constitution it can insist on
the enact the adherence to The. Constitution but who are
the enforcers going to? Be you, KNOW i really don't.
Know The president and the executive. Agencies they're supposed to
carry out constitutional. Law and if they, don't or if

(34:35):
they blatantly defy it by issuing orders that count demand The,
constitution unless there are, consequences enforceable, consequences then, no you
how do you enforce constitutional? Law there is nobody that's
going to challenge you on. It and so far we've
seen A Supreme court that has given away far more

(34:58):
ground To trump than to any president THAT i can
think of in recent.

Speaker 14 (35:03):
History So Senator Lisa murkowski spoke on the fact that
she's feeling really, scared as are others to voice opposition To.
Trump Supreme courts not protecting. Them there's nobody protecting. Them

(35:27):
so so what is the what is the solution to?

Speaker 8 (35:30):
This, Well Nancy pelosi apparently had a recent conversation With
hockey And jeffreys AND i know we'll talk about it
in a bit also and, said you, know in her inimitable,
way use your, Power and that of course raises the, question,
well what are what powers do these senators and congressmen

(35:54):
have left In? Murkowski she's A, republican so she she
has Opposed trump on a number of, issues and she's
been relatively. Outspoken she often, waffles but as a relatively
outspoken resistor to many Of trump's, policies she has, admitted you,

(36:18):
know she's afraid of, retaliation but that she's been elected
to speak up about what she believes is. Right THE
i know there was an article about this In. POLITICO
i don't know if it was today or, yesterday but
she is NOW i hope what this is her? Intention

(36:39):
she seems to be trying to carefully talk about her
fear as a, senator as an outspoken, senator as a
way to maybe have a few Other republican senators admit
the same, thing and to try to break the ice
about the fact that it may be fear rather than,

(37:00):
other you, know subtler reasons that THE gop has been
so lockstep about. Everything this may be one of the
ways that we can see a shift in politics right
now in the. Administration it's going to take a lot
More lisa The fosse than aren't many of. Them but

(37:20):
but if she can be a sort of thin entering
wedge here that she's coming out and saying WHAT i.
Think in, fact she, says we are. Afraid she's talking
about you, know her, colleagues not just. Herself she's you,
know she's afraid of the comes. Retaliation she's afraid of

(37:40):
projects that she may have been part of proposing or you,
know making proposals for that not getting funded or getting
killed at some. POINT i don't mean, HER i mean
the emotions she. IS i know she's spoken out quite
a bit About Elon, musk and she is refusing to be,

(38:02):
compliant but she also knows and has said as much
That trump is looking TO i, Mean musk is looking
to basically buy her being primaried out of. Office and
my hope is that her candid admission about fear of
retaliation will be contagious in some way and that others

(38:25):
will say it and that it will become part of
the conversation so that When trump does, stuff people can
start to recognize it more and more that this is
not an active. Policy this is an act of retaliation and.
Revenge so in some, Ways Lisa murkowski's trying to educate

(38:46):
a small section of the maybe persuadable or educable. Public
but it's kiss, BIZARRE i, mean you're having brought it
up at, All An, Cason and how bizarre it is
right that you have A republican senator talking about A
republican president in this way and she's worried about, him you, know.

Speaker 14 (39:14):
Retaliating but you know, what it's kind of hard to
say he's A republican president, now isn't.

Speaker 8 (39:21):
It he's A.

Speaker 14 (39:23):
Trumpian he's A trumpian, President and quite, honestly between between
between you and, Me i'd love to see him stump
in his feet around The oval office because of What
china said about him calling him a.

Speaker 8 (39:40):
Chicken, well he will. BE i, Mean i'm sure he.
Is what he, does as we said in your first,
segment what he does about that insult that means to be.
Seen it won't be, Pretty that's for. Sure he won't
and it won't be, mature and it won't be measured
in any. Way it won't be. Intelligent it will be

(40:00):
spiteful and, reactionary and ultimately it will be self. Sabotaging.
HOPE i hope it will be self sabotaging to, him
BUT i hate the idea that it will be self
sabotaging to the.

Speaker 15 (40:13):
Country, yeah, YES i agree with you about te.

Speaker 14 (40:24):
Hmm all, right let's pop to a different, Topic Hawkeem
jeffries inherited The Democratic caucus leadership From Nancy, pelosi who
you've mentioned a couple of. Times can he effectively rally The?

(40:45):
Democrats what should he? Do what shouldn't he? Do i'll
let you start on, This.

Speaker 8 (40:57):
Okay WHAT i feel like doing is saying what do you?
Think because IT'S i feel, Hopeful BUT i WHENEVER i feel,
HOPE i always wonder If i'm being, naive you, KNOW
i want to say, yes he, can and he often
does rally The democrats to you, know make the case for.
Something some of his colleagues in the in The house

(41:20):
Of Democratic college have said that he probably should have
been quicker to tap into the anger from The democratic base,
about among other, things About schumer's bungling of the spending
bill and what they call where he allows it to
pass because he claimed he was afraid of the government

(41:42):
shutdown and so he basically allowed the gop spending bill to.
Pass and that according to Another democratic member of The,
house AGAIN i don't know which one who said that
that represents a golden opportunity for jeffries to or is
a stronger leader Than, kilmer and SO i guess putting

(42:04):
those two points, TOGETHER i would say what he should
do is he has To he does have to tap
into a kind OF i don't know about, anger but
kind of discussed and disgruntledness in The democratic base that
we're getting way worse than we expected out of the.

(42:26):
Government BUT i think he also is going to have
to find not just among The, democrats but he's going
to have to find The Lisa rakowskis and court them
and try to. Rebuild as you put, IT i think,
wisely it's not going to Be democrats Against republicans for

(42:48):
the time. Being it's going to be you, Know americans Versus,
trumpians and OR i shouldn't Say, AMERICANS i mean people
that believe in democracy. Versusmpions then he's going to need
to rally even the handful OF gop members who might
be willing to break, ranks break rank on one issue

(43:10):
or two, issues and get them into the limelight a
little bit and try to break the stranglehold that THE
gop is under From. Trump SO i do think he.
Can he needs to rally the, base but he also
needs to get hold of THE gop members that can

(43:31):
do anything tiny little bit of. Help but one other
THING i think he has to do IS i think
he does have to step up as the leader of
the party In, congress the congressional. LEADER i don't think
the fact That schumer is still the minari leader of
The senate is relevant anymore with regard to What jefferies

(43:51):
has to. Do obviously has to work with, humor BUT
i Think jefferies has to assume that he now has
the leadership of The Democrat party Throughout congress in both
houses that he's the, leader that his voice is going
to be the one that we need to listen. To
and to do, that it's going to mean opposing some

(44:13):
Of schumer's approaches the, things Because schumer is you, know
it may be the tchumor may be, overdue it maybe
past do at this.

Speaker 14 (44:21):
Point, Yeah i'm not sure if that's, true but it
certainly gives me pause to think.

Speaker 8 (44:36):
About you, know one thing That jeffreys is incredibly good
at is getting people to recognize their own value and
their own powers and their own. Strengths and so he's
got a complicated party dynamic going on right now between

(44:59):
the progressives and the more centrist members of The Democratic.
Party and you, know you've Got Bernie sanders AND, aoc
and you've got you, Know omar and you Know clave
and you and then you've got the more you, know
centrist members and he's got to somehow make this. Coalesce
and if anybody, CAN i believe It's. JEFFRIES i don't

(45:20):
think That humor can do the same in The senate
That jeffries can. Do but one of the things THAT
i really Think jeffries can and have to do is
to remind all the different factions within The Democratic, party
that that factionalization is part of why THE gop is

(45:43):
now running the. Country and remember that sometimes you need
to fight in, unity even if you don't necessarily, believe you,
know share all the beliefs with every one of your.
Colleagues you, know there's never been a be a unified
democratic platform of policy.

Speaker 14 (46:03):
Ideas you, KNOW i find. DIFFERENCES i find myself sometimes
spell bound by the things THAT aoc or Even burnie you.
Say and yet at the same, time when some of
the mods, talk they make perfect. Sense, hm.

Speaker 8 (46:26):
You, know and when some of the moderates talking to
me IN aoc And Bernie sanders makes, sense when the moderates.

Speaker 14 (46:31):
Makes, Sense, no, no the moderates make. Sense.

Speaker 8 (46:34):
Yeah, Yeah, WELL, AOC i think is is got each
foot in a, different slightly different. Camp now at this,
point that's what makes her kind of, interesting is, that,
yeah she's on the side of the very progressive, members
but she's also starting to recognize the need to pull

(47:00):
the party together a little bit more effectively than it's.
Been sanders doesn't seem to recognize that at.

Speaker 14 (47:06):
All, no, no he, Doesn't AND i don't know.

Speaker 8 (47:12):
Where that goes to be honest with, YOU i don't
know IF i understand. IT i don't know IF i
understand whether he's got a plan or a tactic or
a strategy that we're. NOT i don't. Know it feels
like he's fracturing the party more than he's uniting.

Speaker 14 (47:26):
It outside of his group of. SUPPORTERS i agree with,
you he can bring his group of supporters, together but
that's kind of where it begins and.

Speaker 15 (47:43):
Ends, yeah, WELL i don't.

Speaker 8 (47:49):
KNOW i don't know whether other than someone Like, JEFFRIES
i don't know who the and you asked me about
this in the previous, shows but who the real kind
of leaders for lack of leaders in The Democratic party
are going to be other than you, Know jeffries is

(48:12):
one mainly talking about The house at this. Point that's
the one that The house is what we're hoping, to you,
know the two year. Election we're hoping to convert The house,
Obviously BUT i don't know who's going to. Emerge but
there are some voices That i've mentioned, before people Like Jasmine,
crockett who really have to step up their game because

(48:37):
they are are you, know they're considered to be well,
read and you know they're considered to be. Influential she's
certainly very strong and she's been a strong opponent of
vocal opponent Of trump. Policies And jeffries is going to
have to identify these potential, leaders do a better job

(48:59):
OF i identifying them and celebrating, them and getting them
out front and getting, them you, know in front of
microphones and cameras as often as, possible and use those
people to educate the public in whatever way is that
they know we can educate them that we need to
find these leaders and get them out, front because THE
gop doesn't have people.

Speaker 15 (49:23):
That are.

Speaker 8 (49:26):
For anything, democratic anything beneficial From. America and, yet how
are we not taking advantage of the fact that they've
got basically open mouths with empty. Skulls why are The
democrats not taking advantage of the fact that The republicans
are not offering intelligent. Information, look my.

Speaker 14 (49:53):
Opinion of this is When Bill clinton was, president did
it a much better job of keeping this, organized if you.
Will they had they had a communications. Department it was
CLASS a and you know they need to have that.

Speaker 15 (50:20):
Again.

Speaker 8 (50:22):
Yeah, Yeah and as as we've been, talking so there's
a story that's come out again In politico that About,
musk that his job is mostly done and that he's
going to he's going to DEPART.

Speaker 4 (50:42):
Doge and the.

Speaker 8 (50:44):
Party so he's, hoping of, course That tesla shareholders are,
gonna you, know stop. Panicking but he he is already
saying that he's, gonna you, know just work one or
two days a. Week AND i think the response from
the government is The feds are going to, be, well
let's make that zero days a. Week but he's going

(51:08):
to go back to what he thinks he does, well which,
is you, know do his. Business but that's going to
mean and maybe this will be a topic for some
other show of, Yours but when he Leaves, washington then
there's this entity Called doge and who is going to

(51:30):
be Running? Doge is it going to continue to? Exist
is it going to have any power?

Speaker 15 (51:36):
Anymore is?

Speaker 8 (51:37):
It you, know it's ALREADY i, mean what Is trump
and he comes been president for like three months and
Already doge has you, know kind of shredded agencies and
boards and. Directorships what is going to be the next
day is for this? Operation is it going to just?

(51:58):
Stop have you heard about anybody that's likely to step
up other And god Forbids Stephen. MILLER i, mean who
are these people going to be that are going to
continue this project of slash and burn that does? Represents
does anybody come to mind it for? You?

Speaker 14 (52:18):
No not, real not. Really there are names that fly
through my, mind but nobody really rises to the. Top
Stephen miller is certainly not. IT i, mean Unless trump

(52:43):
just wants to give somebody a title and some, power.

Speaker 8 (52:48):
Well regardless of whether there's someone who is titled or,
not if those continues to exist and do what it's,
doing which is just essentially laying waste to not not
fraud to agencies That trump doesn't like or that he
thinks will by cutting them put more money in billionaire's.
Pockets if he's going to Want doge to, continue someone's

(53:10):
gonna have to run the. Boat BUT i don't know
who would who he has in, mind and those was
sent basically shaped Around, Musk SO i wonder what the
fate Of doze is going to.

Speaker 15 (53:23):
Be, Now.

Speaker 14 (53:28):
I'm perfectly happy to See musk made a fool.

Speaker 8 (53:32):
Of WELL i am as, well BUT i Think trump
is not going to be one of made a fool,
of and so he's going to have to do something
that looks like he's regaining the upper hand That musk
had for a. While they still have for, all you. Know,

(53:53):
yeah and then there's and then there's hegxep.

Speaker 14 (53:58):
Oh that's all other Top.

Speaker 8 (54:00):
Yeah, yeah LIKE ao the beginning of the at the
beginning of the, show you, said you, know we're stuffed
full of. Topics but right now this is a weird
time that it's almost like we're you, know we're living
on top of a.

Speaker 14 (54:20):
Volcano interesting, metaphor.

Speaker 1 (54:28):
Thank.

Speaker 8 (54:28):
You you.

Speaker 14 (54:30):
Know my metaphor is when you say something for something,
else that's that's a golden girl's. LIFE i don't, know
my hands are.

Speaker 8 (54:47):
Cold well you said before that the uh all this
talk about the state Of, congress you, know use one.
Cold so apparently it's literally left you.

Speaker 15 (55:03):
Cold, yeah that's for. Sure that is for.

Speaker 8 (55:09):
Sure it's. Interesting just one quick point About musk And.
Tesla SO i happened to just kind of stumble on
a protest outside of one of The Tesla tesla Plants
tesla showrooms rather In Long. ISLAND i was there for

(55:31):
a different. REASON i see this big crowd outside Of.
Tesla SO i walked over AND i realized all that
this is a. Protest and SO i was chatting with
people about, it AND i would, say they, were you,
know maybe three hundred, people a good sized crowd in
front of a, small relatively small. Store and so one
of the GUYS i was talking, ABOUT i, said so you're,

(55:55):
protesting why you know why you're? Here and he, Said
i'm protesting because these are bad. Cars and so somebody
else standing here by, goes, no they're, not they're good.
Cars i'm protesting Because musk, is you, know a terrible.
Person and then somebody else, said that's not Why i'm.
Here i'm here to Protest musk's influence on you, Know.
Trump and what's weird is that so three out of

(56:17):
three people THAT i happened to talk to that was
it had three different reasons for, protesting and they and
so if you put, that if you kind of extend
that equation a little, bit you realize that there's very
little positive that anybody has to say About musk what
regardless of which position they, take he's, widely, generally universally considered.

(56:41):
Awful and the fact is that we know that that's
exactly the kind of Thing trump always looks to wash
out of his you, know pun intended, hair that anything
that's going to look that looks like it's going to
stain him other than his pampers are going to be washed.
Out and so that's one of the REASONS i think

(57:03):
That trump is being, URGED i, Mean musk is being
urged to voluntarily leave his position at dose is because
his actions and his product and his economics are Staining.

Speaker 14 (57:16):
Trump especially after seventy two quarterly loss. YEP i mean
that's really something.

Speaker 8 (57:27):
Which is still less of a loss than most Of
trump's company's. Experience probably.

Speaker 15 (57:33):
True all, right my, friend we're down to a couple of,
minutes and.

Speaker 14 (57:46):
Literally a couple of. MINUTES i Think haggsworth.

Speaker 1 (58:01):
Needs to.

Speaker 14 (58:02):
GO i don't know how much Longer trump is going
to tolerate HIS. Bs think about. IT i don't know
how long he's going to.

Speaker 8 (58:13):
Tellerate, well it's not just AS. BS i don't know
the fact that he's doing things that are now widely
recognized as national security. BREACHES i think the failure to
get rid OF i, said is going to Mean trump's
numbers are going to plummet even. More and they're pretty
they're pretty done.

Speaker 14 (58:32):
Low, Yeah, well my, friend we got we will have
a lot to talk about over the next. Months Necessariic,
bauman hosts of The Uncommon Sense. Democrat right here IN
