Speaker 1 (00:00):
Stephen, are you safe from low grade THHC products right now?
Speaker 2 (00:03):
I would like to report that yes, I am say
thanks to Mike Government, who knows what's best.
Speaker 3 (00:07):
Thank God.
Speaker 1 (00:09):
In case anyone hadn't heard here in the city where
our flagship's at. And you know, we're quite proud of
the fact that we can be heard in a lot
of places, but our home station is in the biggest
city in Texas, and here in the biggest city in Texas.
Over the past few days, a lot of attention has
been given to a guy named Arcade. Como is a
kind of a spelled with a Cajun French ex at
(00:31):
the end irrelevant, but just want to paint a picture
here for you. This guy is an arsonist sex offender
who got arrested recently and then released on low bond
and went out and immediately was accused of kidnapping a woman.
And for the record, this is a good example of
how broken our bond system is in our criminal justice system.
(00:53):
It would be great if we had lawmakers it would
do something about that, or property tax relief or immigrat problems.
Speaker 3 (01:00):
But instead all.
Speaker 2 (01:01):
The things they promised they would do when you voted
for him.
Speaker 1 (01:04):
Yes, yes, yes, But instead we've got a lieutenant governor
here in the state of Texas, Texas named Dan Patrick,
and he has spent most of the month whipping votes
to outlaw low grade THHC products marijuana to be you know,
a mega agenda. By the way, the Farm Bill was
something Donald Trump passed in his first term, and now
(01:25):
we are trying to undo that. I guess because apparently
these products, which are often used by military veterans suffering
from PTSD or people with inflammation issues, people trying to
get off opioids, are available with an ID if you're
twenty one or older. And it's not to be clear,
it's not the same stuff you find in Oregon or Colorado. Right,
(01:47):
It's not like it doesn't do anything to you, but
it's not as strong as that. Dan Patrick yesterday held
a press conference to talk about how this stuff is
causing schizophrenia, and I'm told by someone in the newsroom
down the hall, it's actually Metal Health Awareness Month.
Speaker 3 (02:01):
Did you know that?
Speaker 1 (02:01):
No, idea, it's kind of I didn't know that either.
Apparently during Mental Health Awareness Month, our lieutenant governor doesn't
know what causes schizophrenia.
Speaker 2 (02:10):
No, he has no idea plus, he talked about his
press conference. There's waving bags of stuff around saying this
shouldn't be available. You wouldn't you wouldn't buy this for
your kids, your grandkids. Well, you could hold up a
can of beer or a bottle of bourbon and say
the same thing. No, I wouldn't buy that for my kids,
(02:31):
because it's not for kids. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (02:33):
I don't understand this.
Speaker 1 (02:34):
If you have to lie to people in order to
pass a bill, then what exactly are you doing? You
have to be He's saying it's unregulated and they're selling
it to children.
Speaker 3 (02:43):
Uh No, that's that's what it was before.
Speaker 1 (02:46):
When people and will be again, when people were buying
it in a dorm room from a guy named you know,
Skyler or Jose or Jamal. That's what was happening. But
now they're buying it in a a legal business with
an ID. And I can't help. But wonder, where are
all these people that got schizophrenia psychosis.
Speaker 2 (03:07):
Running wild through the streets and we just haven't noticed?
Speaker 3 (03:10):
Could I meet one of them? Just one, Dan, just
bring one out.
Speaker 1 (03:15):
Bring out one person at a press conference whose life
was ruined by low grade THHD.
Speaker 3 (03:20):
What a joke.
Speaker 2 (03:21):
In the meantime, we can show you just the victim
after victim of people who have been let out of
jail or no or low bonds just in the Houston
area alone. And it's not just here, but that yeah
you mentioned at the start of this was released after
ten I believe it was ten different felony arrests and
(03:45):
or at least felony counts. Yeah, and they gave him
a thousand dollars bond, which means one hundred bucks. Dude
probably had it in his pocket, you know. And that's
a pretty big problem here in Houston. And he goes
out and commits more crime.
Speaker 3 (03:58):
Believe it or not.
Speaker 1 (03:59):
Houston is the biggest city in the state of Texas.
So if something happens in our city involving violent, dangerous criminals,
guess what, it affects everyone, not only in Texas, but
everybody in the Where you are, Kansas, where are you
right now? Louisiana and Alabama? I got some bad news
for you, Bubba. The criminals that get let out of
our jails drive.
Speaker 3 (04:18):
To your state. They can cross the borders. Turns out,
it turns out as very possible. Here's the other thing
that pisses me off. I just challenged my property tax.
Do you do that? Oh?
Speaker 2 (04:28):
All the time?
Speaker 1 (04:28):
For those that aren't aware, and I'm sure a lot
of you have a similar system where you live. Here
where we live, we get this bill once a year
and it says, this is how much the government finkes
your home is worth. And it's always it's always eighty
thousand to two hundred thousand dollars more than what the
house is worth. It's never a reasonable amount. And if
you have the time to go challenge it, then you
(04:50):
might get a little bit of a reduct deduction, reducing
the fee that you have to pay for property tax.
I just did it, and they told me we we're
gonna save you one hundred bucks a month.
Speaker 3 (05:02):
It's like, all right, wait, wait.
Speaker 1 (05:04):
The amount of money that you were going to charge
me already didn't make any sense. You're telling me you
were twelve hundred dollars off. I doubt it.
Speaker 2 (05:12):
The whole thing is a scam. It's a gimmick, has
been for a long time. They artificially raised the property
taxes and then they start entire companies and there's thousands
of companies that look up the roles find your address
and mail you these little flyers that say you're paying
too much in property taxes and we will fight it
(05:34):
for you. Most of them do it for you know,
a percentage of whatever they save you. They're not saving
you any money, it won't cost you anything. But they
always managed to whittle it. Do a little bit, save
you a little bit of money. And so they get
paid and the property tax is still get paid. And
it's a it's a planned just it's dog chasing its tail.
(05:55):
But it created a lot of special business for past
government employee who are now setting up firms that all
they do is fight property Texas because we know how
to cut through the red tape of government.
Speaker 3 (06:07):
It used to be the red tape. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (06:09):
But the good news is that money they're using is
going to be used to house dangerous criminals to protect us.
Uh no, oh, it's not going to do that. Oh
oh that's right. The thing we just talked about seconds ago. Well,
at least we're safe from low grade THC products.
Speaker 2 (06:25):
Yeah, Thursday today is Thursday.
Speaker 3 (06:28):
Good morning, sexy, good morning, wake up and listen up.
You need some coffee? Would you like some more?
Speaker 2 (06:34):
Called?
Speaker 1 (06:35):
I don't want to calls a stampede or revolt, but
we don't have any coffee.
Speaker 3 (06:40):
Walton and Johnson.
Speaker 1 (06:42):
Greeting these kids. You know where you are, It's the
Walton Johnson radio network. Donald Trump teeing off against Harvard.
It's always interesting when you hear a news story and
what and you react to what the media first tells you,
and then you deep dive into it and you realize
what's actually happening.
Speaker 3 (06:59):
Early this week, we were told over and over again Donald.
Speaker 1 (07:02):
Trump is going to ban all foreigners from going to
college here, and then you realize that's actually not at all.
What's happening or not Donald? Just now they make the
headlines Donald Trump. Here's a more accurate headline. Donald Trump
is going to have his administration look at the social
media accounts of incoming students from foreign countries who are
not our friends and figure out whether or not they
(07:25):
are anti American before we allow them to get a
student visa.
Speaker 3 (07:29):
That's actually not that crazy.
Speaker 2 (07:31):
Every other country on the planet, as far as I
can tell, has some rules about who can come, why
they can come, how long they can stay, all of
those different things, except us. It's wrong for the United
States to have any rules about anything.
Speaker 3 (07:46):
Well, that's just rude. Okay, it's not rude when they
do it.
Speaker 1 (07:50):
Let's pretend you want more students from Iran and China,
because that's really what this is about. It's not about,
you know, some medical school student from Germany.
Speaker 3 (07:58):
That's not what they're talking about.
Speaker 1 (08:00):
Talking about whether or not people from communist China who
might be agents of the communist Chinese government, or people
from Sharia law countries who might be sympathetic to Hamas
should be allowed to attend an Ivy League university that
gets billions of dollars in subsidies from you, the taxpayer.
In other words, do you want to pay for the
college education of a Chinese communist agent?
Speaker 2 (08:22):
You can give them the money, but you don't get
to make that decision or even help them.
Speaker 1 (08:26):
Or in Islamic loving a terrorist supporter. That's really what
this is about. Oh, that's it. Wow that I feel
like we just wasted four days talking about something most
reasonable people would agree with. But if you have to
lie to people, Dan Patrick, to make your point, then
it sounds a lot worse, doesn't it. And where are
all those reasonable people that you think should get that?
(08:48):
Because I'm starting to notice a lack of reasonable people,
at least in the world we live in, and politics
and people that are trying to control our lives. I
want to tell a story about me for just a minute,
but it's not about me. It's about the way the
system works. I was invited. How do I put this?
(09:10):
I had someone from the I had a political insider
ambush me here at the radio station this week, and
it had to do with some of the things that
you and I say on the radio. And I was
very curious to see how this played out. Someone showed
up here and said they wanted to have a meeting
with me, somebody that works for Republican Party here.
Speaker 3 (09:30):
In the state of Texas.
Speaker 1 (09:31):
And I was and immediately I was like, is this
because we were making fun of someone? Or am I
going to get blackmailed? Or am I being sued or extorted?
The person showed up and started asking me questions about
what we do, and the end result was I just
wanted to figure out who you were. And then this
person left And it was a strange experience I had
as I left the radio station the other day.
Speaker 2 (09:50):
It was weird to tell somebody that I'm just trying
to figure out who you are.
Speaker 3 (09:54):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (09:55):
It was a weird experience because I couldn't tell if
this it was a woman. By the way, this person
flirting with me. Was I being blackmailed? It was really
And in the end I was saying it was a
little you know, always a little flattered that somebody thought
we were important enough to show up here, and they
just I'm just trying to figure out who you work for.
It's like I I work for the Walton Johnson radio network.
I work for the people. Man, It's pretty obvious. I
(10:18):
would think it was. I thought I was going to
get blackmailed, or I was like, you know, you can't.
There's nothing I haven't said about my stupid personal life
on the radio that you're going to be able to
expose at all.
Speaker 2 (10:28):
What would other people say that would be worse than
what you always say about things.
Speaker 1 (10:32):
I remember walking away from the meeting and thinking, Wow,
I'm too much of a dirt bag to be blackmailed.
I was really proud of myself. Nothing like that had
ever happened to me before. But anyway, you know, just
knowing that I've sunk solo in my life that I
can't be extorted, it felt good to know that you
know yet that going for you? Yeah, it was. It
was a wild experience, Actually, wasn't that interesting. It was
(10:54):
a brief leeting moment in a parking garage with somebody
that I think I just happened to run into by chance.
But they had some questions about you, Steve. Did they
ask me? No, they didn't ask me. I think they
just figured I had a big mouth and I'd tell
them everything.
Speaker 3 (11:08):
Probably, yeah, but pretty much stuff I'd already said about
you on the radio. Oh god, No, it's always funny
to me. You know, I get it. We've we've got
a big audience, but we're not that important.
Speaker 1 (11:20):
You know, there's enough people out there that agree with us,
a lot, hundreds of thousands of millions in a week
that tune into this radio show, and we're grateful for that.
But the thing is, most of the people that listen
to the show have a life, They work, They have
something going on that's more important than you know, like
hurting a politician or something like that.
Speaker 3 (11:39):
Yeah, it's not personal.
Speaker 1 (11:40):
Wasn't there a thing years ago where John made a
joke about politician and the Secret Service showed up.
Speaker 2 (11:46):
Well, it was about the president at the time, and
it was something along the lines of possibly doing him
bodily harm.
Speaker 3 (11:54):
But it was a joke.
Speaker 2 (11:55):
Well obviously, yeah, but Secret Service don't play huh. They
a couple of guys in the black suits, you know,
with the little risk the wrist walkie talkie, you know,
where they could just talk into.
Speaker 3 (12:09):
Their watch or whatever.
Speaker 1 (12:10):
Dude, that was before everybody had an Apple watch too.
Oh yeah, those are cool, man. I were the only
ones that could do that back then. I want one
of the old school watches that the federal agents were using,
or like, what was the thing that Dick Tracy had.
Speaker 3 (12:22):
That'd be cool.
Speaker 1 (12:23):
You know. You look at you got a little TV there.
But it's not a good TV. No, No, it's a black.
Speaker 3 (12:30):
He's a crap.
Speaker 1 (12:31):
This is the latest technology from nineteen sixty one. Wow, man,
that's a tiny little TV on your wristwatch. Surprised, you know,
Dick Tracy, bro that's the way before your time. Well,
as you know, I was a child of the eighties
and nineties, and so my Dick Tracy was Warren Batty.
Oh yeah, and his Uh didn't he have a relationship
with Madonna back in the day. I'm so old I
can remember when sleeping with Madonna was kind of cool. Damn,
(12:54):
Warren Batty did it?
Speaker 3 (12:56):
You are old? Dennis Rodman did it? Yeah? Right?
Speaker 1 (12:59):
You think, Dennis, we've seen Tennis Rabman walking around this neighborhood.
You think he'd be caught dead with Madonna at this
point in his life?
Speaker 3 (13:05):
I don't think so. You think Madonna'd be caught dead
with him this one in her life.
Speaker 2 (13:09):
Let's face it, he and you could both do better.
Speaker 3 (13:13):
Oh wants to get excited about? What's to get excited
about it? Well, let's see, it's Thursday, right, It's just Thursday,
just a regular Thursday.
Speaker 1 (13:20):
Well, everyone am very excited about.
Speaker 3 (13:23):
About this show. Walton and Johnson Radio Network
