Well, they aren't the only ones. The Kansas City Chiefs
were on the brink of at least tying the game
yesterday with the Chargers. Unfortunately, their backup quarterback Gardner Minshew
through too short in the direction of Travis Kelson.
Speaker 7 (07:14):
Second down, fifteen and deep, and it is chucked at it,
It's picked up. I forget you that, and the Chargers
are gonna win, not the Chiefs out of the playoffs.
Speaker 4 (07:29):

Not the chief knocked them out of the playoffs. The
reason that the backup was in there obviously because there
was an injury to Mahomes over on the sideline and
everybody was watching it here at the ski cabin, and
we watched and we all watched the replay over and
over against it didn't look that bad, you know, it
didn't look like it got twisted up too much, nobody
fell on it, nothing like that. But he was laying there,

you know, in pain and agony. And it turns out
it is a season injury ending ACL tear. And now
all the speculation is is that the end of an
era of Mahomes and Kelsey.
Speaker 3 (08:10):
Yeah, Retirement talks have swirled around Kelsey this year as
he's played his thirteenth NFL season, and the question came
back to the surface after Mahomes suffered that season ending injury.
While Mahomes promised to return to the field stronger than ever,
it's unclear.
Speaker 1 (08:23):
If Travis will be there next year because he is
getting old.
Speaker 2 (08:26):
He's thirty six, and he's allegedly getting married some I
guess sometime next year. His public has told him he
was Yeah, that's what he's been told, So he's got
to kind of go with that. So then if you
didn't stay up. Cowboys lost last night to the Vikings
thirty four to twenty six. The Saints had a big victory.
It's always fun to watch this. Now. Yeah, obviously they

ain't going to playoffs and nothing like that. But what
I'm seeing from the Saints now at this end of
the season, the surge is it looked like look really
promising for what's gonna happen next season. You know, they
got a quarterback in there that the team looks like
they enjoyed playing for. Uh so they win, and I

gotta think, you know, I know, nobody wants to hear
nurt year, nurt year, but it ain't gonna beat this year.
And in the Texans, what the hell is up with
the Texas? Man, they just they dominated well. Of course,
Arizona is also one of the worst teams in the
NFL with a three and eleven record, but the Texans
dominated them forty to twenty and that that's very Untexan
like lately.
Speaker 3 (09:26):
Well yeah lately, sure, but in the grand scheme of things,
it's not very untexan like. In the grand scheme of things,
I think it's what we all ultimately usually expect from
the Houston Texans.
Speaker 2 (09:37):
But how about Navy and that Army Navy game. I mean,
they're all always usually pretty close, and it was. It
was a close one.
Speaker 3 (09:44):
That they said that the Navy was gonna clench it,
but they they was a close game.
Speaker 1 (09:49):

It was very close all the way down there. I
did enjoy the crowd going wild and all the military excitement,
and everybuddy Odam was sending messages out saying, uh, you know,
he's always he's the name, he's a Navy guy, and
he was hoping we were pulling for Navy with him,
so we were watching.

Yeah, Oh don't worry, buddy, we were cheering for your

Although I will admit that's one football game where if

You know, we got a new mayor coming into New Orleans,
and I love how careful they are when they talk
about the people they're replacing. She says, it was almost malfeasance,

almost that our current Mayor LaToya had no legislative agenda
at all for this term of her mayoralship. That's according
to miss Morrell, the next mayor, the new mayor, right,
So the next wave of New Orleans leaders have laid
out plans for the city's the healing of the financial wounds,

among others. And of course Mayor Cantrell, who is still
technically mayor, has vetoed Marino's budget that she's kind of
crafted and put together for the first year of her run.
So like anybody cares what LaToya thinks or does with
the budget these days, but have to be so careful.
It was almost malfeasance, almost, it was. You just didn't

want to say so okay.

Well, on that note, the mayor of New Orleans not
the only mayor in the Walton Johnson listening region who
has sparked controversy. Houston's Mayor, John Whitmyer is involved in
a dispute with his own political party. Yesterday, the Democrats
of Houston got together and they had a vote, and
they say we will never endorse him again. Why there's
(12:21):
there's the reason they're saying, and then there's the real reason.
Speaker 2 (12:24):
Yeah, what what is the reason that they are they're saying,
which is not the real reason.
Speaker 3 (12:28):
He attended a fundraiser for a handful of Republicans, including
Dan Crenshaw. They're mad that he's friendly with Republicans now,
but is Dan you know Crenshaw Republican. Well that's a
great point, like what the moderate Republicans And what did
he do exactly? He went to a cocktail party, that's
what you're mad. It's not like he raised money for
Dan Crenshaw. I am told by members of the Democrat

inside elite. Yes, I have a source that that's not
the real reason why he is being ousted from the
Democrat Party. The real reason to tell, the real reason,
they don't like John Whitmyer has a little bit to
do with us. Yeah, a little bit, but not But
that's not most of it. To be fair, I just
had to lead with that. We are more of the symptom,
aren't we. They had a meeting over the weekend. They

had a vote to decide if they wanted to get
rid of him as a member of their someone they
wouldn't support.

And the article that I drafted, the article I published
in the Houston Chronicle was mentioned. Oh really, and I
just feel bad about that that was brought up among
there was It was among the things that were being discussed.

You think he cared.

It's not the real reason.
Speaker 2 (13:31):
I don't think he cares.

It is not the real reason. The real reason that
they're ousting him is because in the back rooms of
the Democrat Party meetings and that sort of thing, there
are high ranking members of the Democrat Party that he
had promised loyal to, loyalty to who he's not. Actually,
he's not doing them any favors now that he's in charge.

The real reason is he's not a lunatic. See that's
what I would have thought. You gotta be a liberal
lunatic these days, to be love and appreciated by the
other lunatics, because that's pretty much what the liberals are
now see.

I had a hard time swallowing this pill, too, Billy.
That's what I thought as well. And I have been
told over and over again by members of the the
inside the Democrat Party who I spoke to this weekend.
They said they're not actually mad at him for talking
to Republicans. They're not actually mad at him for governing
the city the way he is, because he promised to
do all of that when he ran for office. They
knew that the real reason they're mad at him behind
(14:25):
closed doors is because he just quit doing favors to Democrats.
Speaker 2 (14:29):
Well, I don't blame him the way they've treated him,
which came first.
Speaker 3 (14:34):
The chicken or the heck, right, it's a great No,
you're right, it's that I had a hard time wrapping
my mind around it too.
Speaker 1 (14:38):
I was like, so he's being reasonable. They said that
he's not being a lunatic.
