Speaker 1 (00:02):
The World Unexplained, a podcast that explores the unusual beliefs, conspiracies, customs, rituals,
and traditions from around the world. This is your host,
Doctor Carlos.

Speaker 2 (00:37):
Everybody remembers Vanheuser Busch and the bud like fiasco, But
have you ever heard of a conspiracy surrounding with the CIA.
Let's think of Look, here's another conspiracy that came out.
Individuals upset with Anheiser Busch over a minor ad campaign
featuring a trans influencer now believe that the company CEO
was put in charge of the company in order to

(00:58):
make the company what they call woke Woke. The company's CEO,
Brendan Whitworth, has become the target of a conservative conspiracy
theory that his prior employment is influencing the brand's current direction.
I wouldn't even use conservative anymore, just because there's a
lot of people believe and a lot of conspiracies that
are not politically aligned. Mister Whitworth joined annhazard Bush in

(01:18):
twenty thirteen and became CEO in twenty twenty one. When
commentators found that his link page listed to CIA as
one of his past employers, they worked up a theory
he was part of a wide ranging psyop intended to
launder woke ideas to the masses. He actually responded, Hey, guys,
I think I found the problem. Actually, somebody put that

(01:40):
in there. The sentiment was echoed by another notable Twitter user,
and they became pretty big in Twitter about this conspiracy.
Bud Lights Woke marketing makes a lot more sense when
you realize their CEO was in the CIA, said one
of the Twitter handlers. Mister Whitworth joined the Marines in
ninety eight, served for three years before he joined the
CIA in two thousand and one, when he worked as
a CIA operator. He then attended Harvard Business School before

(02:03):
journing in Hazard Bush. If the CIA and agency's entire
mission involves Clandestin's work was trying to influence the culture
through beer ads, it did not hide its involvement, well,
said mister Whitworth, and he's not shy by sharing his
former employment with the organization. He just learned that the
current CEO, well, actually, another person says, we've just learned

(02:23):
that the current CEO is actually former CIA. This explains
a lot. Mister Whitworth put out a statement following the
boycott against Budwhiser Beer's in the wake of an ad
campaign featuring the trans influencer again Dilvan Mulvaney. I think
it was and the He assured readers the company did
not intend to wade into a culture war, which many

(02:45):
people believe took him into it, whether they wanted to
or not. So this is the unusual situation of the
CIA in Anheiser Busch ordeal, so is the influencing it
over in military dot com. Anheiser Busch CEO has seen

(03:06):
his share of action versus a Marine Corps officer, and
here appeared on the June twenty eighth edition of CBS
June twenty eight, twenty twenty three edition of CBS Morning.
He said his experience taught him to handle stress and
pressure because few business leaders have experienced the kind he's
felt for the past three months. Whitworth sat down with
CBS to open up what the controversy he's embroiled in.

(03:29):
There's a big social conversation taking place right now, and
big brands are right in the middle of it. It's
not just our industry of bud Light, but it's happening
in retail for fast food and the whole other places
as well. With growth is no stranger to hard work
and the Endzheuser Busch Study Chief study for Business School.
I told you already over in Harvard. He also deployed

(03:50):
a baggad and prepared to take the GMAT during his
time at the CIA, So there's a lot going on.
Whether whether or not he's influencing bud light, Was it
his decision at all? Did he give the green light
to this or not? Is another question. I don't know
if we can ever see that, because I know ble

(04:11):
hars A Bush denied knowing about it at one point
that this even came out. They weren't aware of the
marketing strategy. So I don't know, I really right now.
Could he have Maybe it's just his personal ideology, Maybe
it has nothing to do with him whatsoever at all.
I would say this one probably leans heavy to not

(04:34):
really true. Has some kind of exposure because of the CIA,
But the CIA taught him a lot of leadership skills
and how to interact with people, especially recruiters. That's their
game is to connect with people, so they have really
good people skills, and this could have been a good
fit for him as the CEO of this company. But Hey,
who really knows
