Speaker 1 (00:01):
Understand the thinking atheist. It's not a person, it's a symbol,
an idea.
Speaker 2 (00:10):
The population of atheists this country is going through.
Speaker 1 (00:13):
The rule, rejecting faith, pursuing knowledge, challenging the sacred. If
I tell the truth, it's because I tell the truth,
not because.
Speaker 2 (00:22):
I put my hand on a book and made a.
Speaker 1 (00:24):
Wish and working together for a more rational world.
Speaker 2 (00:29):
Take the risk of thinking. Feel so much more happiness.
Truth Usian wisdom will come to you that way.
Speaker 1 (00:35):
Assume nothing, question everything, and start thinking. This is the
Thinking Atheist podcast hosted by Seth Andrews.
Speaker 2 (00:56):
Every call today on any subject and you choose. The
begins with a conversation about your first car, just because
I think it would be awesome. My first car was
actually my dad's and I kind of inherited it. It
was an old Volkswagen Rabbit. Anybody remember the old VW Rabbit.
(01:17):
It was a tiny little roller skate of a car.
It was gray in color, and it got amazing gas
milette she'd had no power. It was five on the floor,
so it's a stick shift. And I remember one day
I was seventeen eighteen and I was driving to school,
which was ten miles away and I was almost out
(01:37):
of gas, and I kid you not, I stomped off
at the convenience store. All I had in my wallet
was one dollar. I had a dollar bill, and I
walked in through the guy at the counter and I
gave him a dollar. I said I needed dollars worth
of diesel on pump seven or whatever, and he just
looked at me, and I'm like, look, I can get
(01:58):
forty miles out of it thing thirty five forty miles
and this is all I got. So he put it
in one dollar diesel pump whatever, and I went out
there and pumped gas. Took that long, and I was
able to get to school and back, but the car itself.
It was one of those charming stories today. There was
a nightmare back then. I was dating a girl named
(02:21):
Dawn and we were going to go to prom. Well,
the problem was is that the air conditioner and the
heater didn't work correctly. So in order to switch from
AC to heat, he had to take part of the
dashboard off and flip the little switch that was well
behind the vents. And so every I don't know November,
(02:45):
I would get my Phillips screwdriver and I would have
to undo the screws and then pop the dash off,
and I would switch from air conditioner to heat, and
I put the dashboard back on, and I would have
heat through the winter months, and maybe March I would
switch back and then I would click it over to
cool and I would have air conditioning for the summer.
(03:07):
The fabric, the upholstery was not properly glued, so fabric
came down off the roof of the car. And I'm
six' one and so it was resting on my. Head
so AS i, DROVE i had the. TURTLENECK i actually
stuck my head down into, it just because there was
(03:28):
fabric hanging over the. Top and the left door handle
wasn't properly, secured so if you reached over and you
pulled the door close too, fast it would pop. Off
the whole, handle the big armrest handle thing popped off
in your, hand and you had to find the little
(03:49):
holes or whatever it went into and then pop it back.
On AND i don't know how many TIMES i had.
TO i had to replace that. Thing AND i drove
that car for two years BEFORE i finally got an
actual car THAT i. PURCHASED i got a Little MAZDA
b two thousand pickup. Truck and that's a whole other.
Story but, man THE Vw. Rabbit and it's funny when
(04:11):
we talk about our first. Cars everybody's, like oh my,
GOD i remember my sister drove A. Chavette anybody remember This,
chavette the Old Chevrolet chavette five on the floor and
it was, tiny, little sort of a bulb shaped car
in that seventies, brown that wood paneled brown that we
saw so much of in that. Decade and of course
(04:34):
we were driving in the, eighties but it was an older.
Car and my best friend at the, time his mom
owned A. Pacer anybody remember The. Pacer if you don't
know what A pacer, is go. Google it is a
death trap because almost the entire half of the car
(04:54):
is just made of bulbous. Glass if you're in an,
accident prepare yourself for a shower of flinging knives coming
right at you the Whole it wasn't dangerous like the
old seventy Two pinto was dangerous where you would tap
the back and the gas tank would. Explode BUT i
(05:15):
remember The. PACER i was always thought this. Sketch it
was a popular. Car i'm just, thinking oh my. GOD i,
mean if someone was to smash into the side of
the rear of this, Vehicle i'm going to be scarred for.
Life and this was the decade where if you had
a station, wagon it wasn't uncommon just to put the
kids in the very back and face them toward rear
(05:37):
traffic and then drive on a family vacation totally, unsecured totally.
Unmonitored we would just sit back. There if we had
been in, wreck we would have been flung through the
windshield and probably one hundred feet down onto the. Highway it's.
Horrifying AND i know there's an entire generation of people
who were, like, ah we were tough back. Then we,
(05:59):
Survived we didn't need none of these seat belts and,
restraints and people just need to suck it up these.
Days or it's more likely that we were just dumbasses
when it came to. Safety and those people that they
boast about the fact that while back when we rode
bikes and, scooters we didn't need no, helmet And i'm, like,
(06:23):
yeah and we saw a shit ton of head injuries
much more statistically because people weren't wearing a. HELMET i
did a true story on my other podcast about a
guy who had spent his, WHOLE i don't, know decades
of his life as a motorcycle. Rider and he had
(06:43):
been petitioning against mandatory helmet laws in the state Of New.
York and he was out as part of a ride
an actual formatted almost a, parade but they were all
riding to protest mandatory helmet. Laws was in a, wreck
struck his. Head he was killed from a head injury hashtag.
(07:05):
Irony it's remarkable the stuff that we allowed each other
to do in the seventies and the. Eighties fortunately we.
Survived it's almost like when an, animal like a fish
or something in the, ocean has one thousand babies and
you expect fifty to survive and the rest get eaten
by predators or wash up on. Shore that's kind of
(07:28):
what it was, like you. Know it's kind of A
darwinian childhood survival of the. Fittest so that's my car.
Story you have to forgive me. Digression i'm a little.
Cranky i've been on the phone all morning with insurance.
Companies natalie's car had a stone hit the, glass and
(07:48):
so the Big actually it's a weird. Crack it's not
just like two inches three, inches but it's almost an,
oval so it can be. Fixed the glass has to be.
Replaced And i've been on the phone talking, well recommend this,
place AND i go in for an estimate and they're
looking at it like they're seeing fire for the first.
Time h not sure exactly how we want to approach.
(08:10):
THIS i got an, idea why don't you replace the damn?
Thing drive to another. Place we're gonna have to talk
To bob in the. Back what's a good number for, you?
Sir and then then they tell me to call this
other play that. Me and you know how it. Is
when you get the run, around you just get. Cranky
(08:30):
So i've been kind of cranky plus and this is
totally a first world. PROBLEM i have a sign on
my door that says no, soliciting don't ring the. Doorbell
it's actually kind of a funny sign that has says
a bunch of other. Stuff, right if you're A ups driver,
grade if you're selling Girl scout, cookies, great beyond, That
(08:52):
like we've heard About. Jesus if we want, it we bought,
it don't bother. Us and whatever you, do don't ring the,
doorbell AND i swear to, you people come up to my.
PORCH i can see them on a security camera from
my office and they read that, sign and you know
what the next thing is that they do ring and
(09:14):
the dogs lose their. Minds often While i'm recording, AUDIO i, swear,
like what part of don't ring the doorbell is unclear to?
You Is english your first? Language do you not go
door to door and see no soliciting and please don't
ring the doorbell? SIGNS i do not understand how this
particular assembling of thousand consonants is, unsensical, nonsensical, unintelligible not.
(09:42):
UNDERSTAND i don't understand. It throwing the doorbell freaks the dogs.
Out so half an hour, Ago i'm sitting here ding Dong,
god AND i go. Down i'm, like, DUDE i actually
pointed to the. Sign you see? That did you read?
THAT i wasn't a total jerk about him. Anyway that's
(10:05):
all uptown. PROBLEMS i, know all uptown. Problems what was
your first? CAR i would like to hear about that
dial into the switchboard with the number or the weblink
in the description box BEFORE i take our first. Call
another thing that has been on my. Mind now you've
heard me talk About Oklahoma superintendent Of Public Instruction Ryan,
(10:29):
walters who is desperate to get noticed By Donald trump
and The trump. Administration he has been waving his arms
in the air four years going now that's, me notice,
Me please give me a job at the federal. LEVEL
i want to go higher in my. Career was totally,
transactional and he's JUST i, MEAN i swear every TIME
(10:53):
i turn around he's doing something that's just. Hideous this
is the same guy who was in a some kind
of a state school board meeting and a couple of
the board members noticed that there was a sex scene
with naked people on THE tv behind him in his,
office and they're, like, hey wait a, minute we're doing
school business, here what the hell's on your? Television and
he's all, Aghast oh IT'S i think he said something,
(11:16):
like this is a. Setup those woke libs are trying
to make me look. Bad this is an attack on
a moral man who would never watch. Porn and everybody's,
thinking uh huh, yeah, right, yeah, yeah somebody check his browser.
History he'd never watched. Porn, Right because the people who
were the biggest moralists are always the one who have
(11:38):
the best. Secrets that guy's, Closet i'm sure has a
shit ton of skeletons in, It and so an investigation takes,
place and even before the investigation gets past day, One
Ryan walters comes forward and he's, like, ah the verdict is.
IN i have been. Vindicated and the investigators then had
(11:58):
to go public and, say, actually we're still looking into.
This it's day. One we don't know what he's talking. About,
well a, verdict for lack of a better, word did come,
in and it was claimed that THE tv turned itself,
on and then there was a movie on and it
(12:20):
happened to be a sex scene in the. FILM i
don't remember what movie it, was but the whole idea
was that he was there minding his own, business doing
board meeting. WORK dd TO d tod Praised, JESUS tv
turns itself. ON i guess A Samsung SMART tv or
something along. Those this turns itself on and lo and
behold ooh a movie with naked. People and it totally
(12:43):
not his. Fault he has BEEN.
Speaker 3 (12:48):
I.
Speaker 2 (12:48):
Quitted it's not the. Way it wasn't a legal. Thing
and you AND i are thinking the same. Thing have
you ever had A tv turn itself on to the
middle of a sex. Scene we've got a SMART. TV
i don't remember it saying you know, what let's get
some nudes and turn itself. ON i just don't remember
(13:09):
that ever. Happening it's, like remember the what DO i call?
Him a journalist or Pundit Jeffrey tubin who was doing
a zoom, call some kind of a media, call and
he was masturbating during the zoom, call and he forgot
(13:31):
to turn his webcam. Off at least he owned. It
he did SOME maya. Calls then he came back forward
and he's, like so they tried to DO i forget the.
Network was IT. Cnn they did this thing where they're, like,
well before we get to the investigating and reporting that
you have been, DOING i guess we need to speak
(13:51):
about an incident that happened the other. Day so you
were choking the. Bishop they didn't say That i'm, Sorry
and in the most uncomfortable, response he, says, oh, yes
(14:13):
it was very. UNFORTUNATE i, Mean i'm very sorry for
any embarrassment THAT i. Caused and of course you AND
i are thinking the same. Thing i'm the guys in
the middle of a, meeting and he, IS i, mean
you know What i'm, saying massaging The bologney pony during the.
Meeting so don't tell Me Bryan walters had a MAGICAL
(14:37):
tv with a mind of its, own or it was
the woke libs who networked in and clicked on at
the right. Moment that's. Bullshit but the REASON i bring
him up is because he has just installed A i'll
call it a patriotism, test which was provided to him
(14:58):
By Prager. You now forgive me if you've heard, this
BUT i have to do a. Primer Prager you is
not a, You it is not a. University it is
a right wing think tank propaganda, mill which was founded
By Dennis, prager who is a right wing radio. Host
he's A christian nationalist and just a, nightmare. Okay And
(15:21):
Ryan walters loves, him Some Praguer you and has been
desperately trying to jam Prager you propaganda Into tulsa public.
Schools and he just installed a requirement for any out
of state teachers who want to come and become teachers
here in this, state they have to pass this. Test,
(15:44):
well first of, all we are one of the lowest.
PAYING i, mean the teachers are not coming To. Oklahoma
the teachers here are. Leaving they're, LIKE i can't afford to.
Live it is a. Nightmare get me the hell out
of this state Of. Oklahoma so this idea that they're
all scratching at our, door going please let us. In
(16:05):
we would love to teach in a place Where Ryan
walters is running the. Show that is absolutely not. Happening
but he posts or provides this test and IT'S i,
mean it is a jingoistic handover heart's trojan horse For christian.
(16:27):
Nationalism it's all it. Is and it's a way in
for praguer you because the test itself looks like it
was written by a twelve year. Old and When Ryan
walters was promoting it online AND i did a screen,
capture he included a typo on x he, said over
sixteen thousand people across the country have now expressed interest
(16:50):
in becoming An oklahoma. Teacher first of, all that's. Bullshit
people went and took the test because they wanted to
know what was on the, test, Right, hello you, chowderhead
are you shitting? Me sixteen thousand people didn't want to
take the test because they're coming. Here he, said, congratulations
if you took this, test you are a part of
(17:11):
the largest recruitment effort of teachers in. History and he
misspelled a part of the largest recruitment. Effort he made
one word there a, part which is a different term
to be used in a different. Context beyond, that you
get an official certificate when you pass this. Test And
(17:34):
i'm going to go through some questions AND i will
get to the funds certify on the, certificate the word
certify is. Misspelled ceer tifiy. Certify WHY i swear to
you cannot make this shit. Up we were just ranked
(17:57):
fiftieth in and you. Can AND i just think we
live in the stupidest. Timeline we live. In the stupidest
timeline is EVERYWHERE i.
Speaker 4 (18:12):
Look you.
Speaker 2 (18:12):
KNOW i released my speech just recently called how do
we explain this when The aliens? Land and that's exactly
HOW i. FEEL i recently read that headline THAT dc
is now suing The trump administration for the deployment of
The National guard In, washington D. C Because trump, said
AND i shit you, not he, said we are going
to end. Crime i'm. Sorry if there is a single
(18:38):
shop lifter in d. C at any point after your,
deployment you have not ended. Crime what is he going
to go behind all closed doors and end domestic? Abuse you,
know how does one end? Crime it is so monumentally
jaw droppingly stupid that anybody might believe. This but he
(19:01):
deploys The National guard IN dc at a time WHEN
dc is, seeing according to The department Of justice release
of statistics In january of this, year at a time
WHEN dc is experiencing a thirty year low in violent,
crime thirty year. Low so The National guard is shoveling
(19:26):
mulch and picking up. Trash these people don't have anything to.
Do they're just driving, around you, know in their, vehicles
and they're eating meals on the taxpayer tab and taking
up hotel, rooms and they're doing landscaping and picking litter
up off of. Curbs essentially is what's going. On and
(19:49):
there is a demographic in this country that's, like, yeah,
yeah you going in, Crime, yeah good for. You trump
has saved as ALL i swear, to these people are
just as dumb as a sack of. Hammers and what
do you do with?
Speaker 4 (20:03):
It, God.
Speaker 2 (20:06):
I'm not SURE i would certificate them as. Geniuses as
All i'm, saying we have well over an hour to
go on this. Show lots of good. Stuff we take
your calls and find out whatever's on your, mind and
of course we talk first cars. Next so what is
(20:32):
it that is on your mind? Today and remember when we,
SPEAK i want to talk about your first car and
then you can segue into. Whatever i'm. Easy three zero?
One is?
Speaker 5 (20:44):
It?
Speaker 2 (20:45):
Ray can you hear?
Speaker 6 (20:46):
Me?
Speaker 5 (20:46):
Ray?
Speaker 4 (20:46):
Yeah so my first car as a nineteen seventy THREE
i Believe portentum.
Speaker 2 (20:53):
Was that the explosive.
Speaker 7 (20:54):
One oh.
Speaker 2 (20:55):
Yeah we used to have funny names For. Ford it
was they were bandied, about found on the, roadside dead flipped,
Over russian Dune buggy was another one THAT i had.
HEARD i don't know what was your opinion of The pinto.
Speaker 4 (21:08):
As terrible, car trouble starting on a regular, basis very.
Unreliable the nickname For ford we had back then was
six or repair, daily.
Speaker 2 (21:17):
Fix or repair. Daily was it a part of the
conversation that you had at all about the exploding gas
Tank as.
Speaker 4 (21:25):
A, teenager we'd laugh about it with my, friends AND
i know it wasn't something we talked about very.
Speaker 2 (21:30):
Much you weren't concerned about. It.
Speaker 8 (21:35):
Okay we knew enough back then that it wasn't easy to. Do,
okay we'd have to really work work at. It it's
like being a drummer and spinal. Tap you, know the
odds of us surviving are actually pretty. Good they're, Okay,
ray what else do you want to talk?
Speaker 2 (21:51):
About my Friend.
Speaker 4 (21:53):
Ryan, Walters there was an interesting thing about that story
with THE. Tv two things the REPORTING i heard is That,
SAMSUNG i believe it made THE. Tv they have their
own stream movie streaming. Service and, yes they do default
to let that, movie the streaming thing be the defaults
when you turn on THE. Tv that's what it goes,
(22:14):
like the channel it goes to by the fault unless
you change. It and, yes it had a version of
That Jackie chan. Movie there are two. VERSIONS i, heard
one with nudity and one. Without the one with.
Speaker 2 (22:24):
Nudity at that, time on that, day it was A
Jackie chan. Movie, YES i, MEAN i is always jumping open.
Speaker 9 (22:33):
Now the other interesting things go, Ahead oh go, ahead no, no,
no go, ahead, no no go.
Speaker 4 (22:38):
Ahead, YEAH i thought of.
Speaker 2 (22:39):
You And i'm just Saying Jackie chan in my mind
is always you, know he's jumping over cars and leaping
through windows and doing amazing, stunts you, know without a.
STUNTMAN i never realized that he, had you, know his
movies got all hot and. Bothered so that's that's interesting
trivia for.
Speaker 4 (22:56):
Me, yeah the ones made In, CHINA i, believe Or
Hong kong or wherever they were. Made, Okay so, yeah
so there's good plausibility to that. Analysis but the interesting
thing to me is How ryan started using his political
opposition of setting him, up and he went away, overboard
(23:17):
and when he saw the analysis that oh there is
a plausible explanation for, this he really didn't. Apologize he didn't,
say oh my, BAD i. Overreacted that's not his.
Speaker 2 (23:25):
Style so it is plausible BECAUSE i want to be
on the right side of, this even THOUGH i Think
Ryan walters is, Well i'll leave it. There you're saying
it is possible that THE tv turned on and in
the channel that it defaulted to was showing something that had.
Newed do you say that's? PLAUSIBLE i think everything.
Speaker 4 (23:47):
Suffered THE tv turned on by. Itself, SURE i think
THE tv was on and it defaulted to that. CHANNEL
i think that's.
Speaker 2 (23:54):
Plausible all, right you REALIZE i have to hold on
to the idea that he was actually. WATCHING i just
it gives me. Joy but we do need you, too me.
Too we need to be creatures of the. Evidence so,
fine all? Right was there anything else BEFORE i move?
Speaker 6 (24:10):
On?
Speaker 2 (24:11):
Ray, no that was what was on my. Mind all,
right appreciate you have a good one. YouTube i, mean
do you buy? THAT i suppose then IF i don't,
Know i'm struggling with. It i'm struggling with. It i've
got web call From oh look at zombie. Reushue he
(24:32):
was joining us once.
Speaker 9 (24:33):
Again hi, THERE i wanted to.
Speaker 3 (24:35):
TALK i can't talk about a car That i've actually,
driven BUT i would like to bring up a childhood
car That i've ridden. In, Okay, so my, father when
he was, alive got had an OPAL gt from nineteen seventy,
two AND i didn't realize how bad this, is but
it ran on leaded. Gasoline now keep this in, mind
(25:00):
a child who has cerebral palsy riding in a car
that runs on leaded.
Speaker 2 (25:08):
Gasoline this must have been in the, seventies, right.
Speaker 3 (25:13):
It was in The it was actually around nineteen eighty
five or Nineteen, NO i think we had it as
late as nineteen eighty. Eight, wow but the thing fell apart.
Constantly but it was made by a company Called, opel
and there were two models. Made there was a they
looked like baby, corvettes and it had this really weird,
rotating funky spinning headlight thing where you to turn the headlights,
(25:36):
on you pull the lever and the headlights spun up
out of the front of the vehicle and came, on
and then you pulled the lever back and they would
rotate back inside the. Vehicle it was really strange.
Speaker 2 (25:47):
Looking, well the ople was a. CLASSIC i remember the
Old fierro and The dots in three EIGHTY. Z they
had the headlights that would pop. Up we just thought
that was the coolest. Thing and when one side, broke
the car would win catch. You so whenever the one
headlight would and the other.
Speaker 3 (26:02):
Glitch it looked like my Father's opal was exactly like.
Speaker 2 (26:06):
That was there anything else you wanted to talk? ABOUT
i think that's.
Speaker 3 (26:14):
ANNO i, mean, YEAH i don't THINK i don't have.
Anything the only REASON i brought this up was because
you were talking about CARS i grew up. WITH i
grew up next door to a car guy who mixed
airplane fuel raised the octane in His Mustang cobra to
raise the octane fuel above what was street legal by
going and getting his gasoline out of fuel made for
airplanes in uh At Stanford, field which is an.
Speaker 2 (26:37):
Airport think you got a?
Speaker 3 (26:38):
Call come on, over.
Speaker 2 (26:41):
Zombie all, right good, Stuff thanks for being a part
of the. Show we'll catch you next. Time, okay take,
CARE i see. YOU i was going to read for
you part of this test From Ryan walters and prager.
You by the, way more and more people in the
chat are telling me that, aparently after an, investigation it
(27:03):
was demonstrated that The samsung television did turn itself. On
Rush hour was on and it was a massage parlor.
Scene so it appears That Ryan walters was not watching.
PORN i do find myself somewhat disappointed by. THAT i,
(27:24):
do but it is important to be. Accurate, okay let's
look at this test BEFORE i go back to the
phones and listen to how loaded the. Languages i'm not
going to read all of. These why is freedom of
religion important To america's? Identity it protects religious choice from government.
Control now that's, loaded, Right it's all about liberty religious.
(27:49):
Freedom what he's, saying is we want to be A christian,
nation and if you don't allow us to do The
Ten commandments in school and have prayers in our classrooms
for The Christian god and biblical, propaganda you are now
the enemy of religious. Freedom what is the fundamental biological
distinction between males and, females chromosomes and reproductive. Anatomy what
(28:14):
did The Supreme court rule in twenty twenty five malmurd
Versus Taylor public schools cannot require participation IN lgbtq themed
instruction without parental opt. Out here's. One what did The
Emancipation proclamation?
Speaker 10 (28:31):
Do?
Speaker 2 (28:32):
Now the answer here is it ended slavery in the
Rebelling Confederate. States it didn't end. Slavery it was a
proclamation that slavery was, illegal but it didn't end. Slavery
hence The Civil. War you know What i'm. Saying how
(28:54):
many senators are? There what Was Abraham lincoln's primary reason
for waging The Civil? War who is called the father
of our? Country what is the name of our national?
Anthem are you shitting? Me is this for third? Graders
this has been given to teachers who ostensibly want to
(29:14):
teach in the state Of. Oklahoma why are there thirteen
stripes on The american? Flag and then we come back
to a section called foundational. Ideals why is freedom of
religion important To america's? Identity it protects religious choice from government.
Control try this shit With, Islam, Buddhism, hinduism Seeksm, Satanism
(29:45):
and of, course if you finish the exam and you
score enough answers, correctly you will get a certificate of
completion TO certifii that you have successfully completed the teacher
qualit alification. Test this state is we live in the dumbest.
TIMELINE i keep saying, That i'm so, sorry just. Dumb
(30:08):
this is just a trojan horse to Get christian nationalism
and prager you embedded Into oklahoma's taxpayer funded public school.
Curriculum it is an ideology first. Movement AND i keep
waiting for The Oklahoma board Of education to do something
about this. Guy have there been calls for his, Impeachment
(30:32):
BUT i, mean how many years does this have to go?
On how many years does it have to go? On
there was somebody in the chat BEFORE i move on
to the next, Call hang, On i'm gonna pull this.
Up who ask IF i was coming To california at any. Point,
Oh i'm so glad you. Asked i'm going to be
(30:54):
there In sacramento as part Of California Free Thought. Day

The State Capitol building In, Sacramento, california and there's going

(31:16):

Albuquerque New, mexico as the guest of The Humanist society
Of New. Mexico That's october the twenty, Fifth, Denver. Colorado
that's going to Be, saturday the sixth Of december For Secular.
Hub and the details on all of these with links
(31:37):
is At Seth andrews dot com and then click on
the speaking tab and it's all right. There but, Yeah
i'm going To, california going to The west coast here
in just a few, weeks And i'm pretty excited about.
It i've Got chip dialing in with a web. Call Welcome,
Chip you're on what's on your? Mind what was your first?
Speaker 7 (31:58):
Car, so my first car was De Wu.
Speaker 11 (32:01):
MATIS i come From romania and there was this Brand
Eastern asian Called daevo and my first car was.
Speaker 7 (32:11):
A very small One. Matis it was Called.
Speaker 2 (32:13):
Matis i'll have to google.
Speaker 11 (32:15):
It, yeah it's A it's a not a pretty car
by any. Means it was a pretty shitty, car LIKE
i think it has like fifty horse, power but you,
know as a, teenager it.
Speaker 2 (32:27):
WORKS i mean it's like having a lawnmower engine strapped
onto four, wheels but it got you. THERE i think
most first cars are the. Best first cars were really,
junk but they were junk in a charming. Way So
i'll have to look that one. Up what else is
on your, Mind? Jip what's going?
Speaker 11 (32:43):
On SO i wanted to ask. You i'm starting under
the assumption that you are not, vegan SO i wanted
to ask you why you are not, vegan BECAUSE i
myself an animal rights, activist AND i feel like you're
clearly an intelligent and well spoken Land SO i don't
know if you've ever thought about it or what's your
stance on.
Speaker 2 (33:02):
It, Honestly natalie AND i have had that conversation AND
i may be a hypocrite about. It you, KNOW i
go back and. Forth my biggest challenge is the industrialization
and the cruelty of. It but DO i believe that
it is always immoral to eat? MEAT i haven't quite gotten.
(33:24):
There BUT i do have, concerns and you, know Maybe
i'm a coward for not pursuing those concerns. Further you,
KNOW i. AM i do consider myself an animal, lover
But i'm also the guy who will make chicken Palmersan
so it's Possible i'm a. HYPOCRITE i don't. Know tell
me what you.
Speaker 11 (33:42):
Think so what happened to me was THAT i REALIZED
i can't possibly call my Don't i'm not an animal,
lover BUT i call myself a person who respects.
Speaker 7 (33:50):
Animals who you, KNOW i do my, thing they're do their.
Speaker 11 (33:54):
Thing they do their. Thing and the WAY i saw it,
IS i can't possibly even call myself. THAT i can't
say THAT i respect animals while at the same TIME
i would be paying for a product THAT i do not. Need,
right because veganism is not a. Diet it's not about the,
diet but it's essentially about respecting, animals and when it
comes to. Food that's sure that there's a diet there
(34:14):
called a plant based, diet but it also means for,
clothing entertainment or you, know like cosmetic testing and all
this kind of. Stuff LIKE i would assume that when
it comes to, clothing you would have no issue in
saying no to leather or any type of animal, product, Right.
Speaker 2 (34:28):
Yeah that would be easy enough for. Me you, know
bring on the cotton and yeah that would be maybe even.
Polyester but don't tell, anybody so go. AHEAD i appreciate.
Speaker 11 (34:38):
That, Yeah and the reason for that is because we
know that killing an animal to where their skin would
be highly, immoral, right it would.
Speaker 7 (34:45):
Be extremely cruel to the.
Speaker 11 (34:46):
Animal and we know that specifically because it is optional to.
Us we can always choose something. Else but then isn't
it optional also for? Food can't we always choose something
else also for? Food doesn't that already make the exploitation
and the killing of the animal already cruel to?
Speaker 7 (35:04):
Them knowing that we don't need to do.
Speaker 2 (35:05):
It, well may be the. Case what do you do
to replace the, proteins. Etc that you would normally get
from meat in your own?
Speaker 11 (35:14):
Diet SO i personally am Not i'm a certify, nutritionist,
Right But i'm also a lazy, person SO i go.
Speaker 7 (35:21):
BUY i buy some mock meat twice per, week maybe
three times these days Because i'm even. Lazier but WHAT
i do is just.
Speaker 11 (35:28):
Take some, tofu marinate it a little, bit cut it into,
chunks and then put it in the air, fryer AND
i get enough protein from. That and of, course if
you eat a regular balanced, diet you're not going to
have any issues with.
Speaker 2 (35:40):
Protein Air frying tofu Something i'd never heard of. Before
is it have the texture of meat or cheese or.
Speaker 11 (35:48):
What it's not Necessarily. NO i think it's got its own,
texture to be, honest it isn't a specific texture of its.
Own it's a little bit like when you air fry,
it it becomes a little bit crispy on the.
Speaker 7 (35:58):
Outside and a little bit soft on the.
Speaker 11 (36:00):
Inside and if you marinate, it it also takes the
tofu has no taste, essentially so it just takes the
taste of anything you marinated.
Speaker 7 (36:07):
With it's kind of like chicken breast if you think about.
Speaker 11 (36:09):
It chicken breast doesn't really have any taste of its.
Own we add spices to it and we kind of
make it taste in a way or. Another so you
can do exactly the same thing with tofu and in
exactly the same. Manner if you want to fry it,
fried if you want to air fry, it air fry.
IT i think you just need to adjust a little
bit to get the texture that works for. You but,
(36:30):
otherwise taste, wise you.
Speaker 7 (36:31):
Could make it taste almost identical to any animal.
Speaker 2 (36:33):
Product, honestly you raise a good. POINT i don't have
a great response other Than i've always done. IT i
am more upset about the cruelty of the industrialized. Process
but you, know to respect the right of an animal to,
live AND i think maybe some of that is rooted
(36:55):
back In i'm not saying this is, right but you,
KNOW i came from a humans have dominion over the earth,
background and maybe there's some of that baked into me
THAT i need to deal. WITH i will make a
guarantee to you that that's a CONVERSATION i Think natalie
AND i will will, have AND i genuinely want to
be on the right side of. It, Nutritionally i'm not a.
(37:18):
NUTRITIONIST i don't fully understand how you replace the proteins
from meats and other things and, meats but it's SOMETHING
i would be willing to. Explore so in good, Faith,
CHIP i receive what you have to, say and just
know that we're all on that. Journey we'll, ALL i
think we all want to try to do the right.
Speaker 11 (37:36):
Thing, Okay, OKAY i appreciate what you're. SAYING i would
just say one. Thing keep in mind that when we
make these. Choices you Know i'm going to be a
little bit of a pushy person right. Now just keep
in mind that when we make these, choices an innocent sentient,
being somebody who, feels somebody who has, emotion does get
exploited and killed for. Us maybe not the ones that
were exploited specifically for the product that we're, buying but
(37:58):
because of supplying the men we're buying these, products they
in order to replace, it they do exploit and kill
another centien. Being AND i feel like there is some
urgency in that, matter Because i'm sure that if you
are on the other side of, it somebody would to
be exploiting and killing. You you wouldn't, well you are
members of your. Family you wouldn't want somebody to Say
i'll look into. It i'll see WHAT i can. Do
but of COURSE i cannot hope anything else other than
(38:21):
you actually doing your best and you're actually looking into,
it SO i cannot hold you accountable for, anything.
Speaker 2 (38:27):
Like you're not going to push me into a. Decision
IF i may appreciate your verve AND i totally get your,
conviction AND i like, that but you, know being pushy
is not going to get you where you want to.
Go BUT i think it's a worthy subject and a worthy,
conversation and you, KNOW i think my guarantee that we'll
have that conversation among us should be hopefully enough for
(38:49):
you this. Measure AND i appreciate your call very. Much,
OKAY i appreciate.
Speaker 11 (38:53):
You there's also a thing Called challenge twenty.
Speaker 7 (38:54):
Two they can quickly help you be vegan and it's.
Speaker 2 (38:57):
Free i'm sorry say it.
Speaker 11 (38:58):
Again so, Yeah so there's also a thing Called challenge twenty.
Two they hook you up put a, nutritionness they send
your recipes every, day and they help you go vegan for. Free,
Okay so if you ever need help with the nutritional.
Speaker 7 (39:10):
Side that's the side that they can help you.
Speaker 2 (39:12):
Out many, Thanks, chip appreciate, You thank you so. Much
having see you later immediately in the comment AS i
look over, HERE i see people are it's an emotional.
ISSUE i, mean, people it's a hot. Button everybody. Relax
chip called in good. Faith he didn't throw any. Accusations
he wasn't you, know didn't throw blood on. Me let's
(39:36):
talk about, that you, Know? OKAY i mean HAVE i
HAVE i seen the videos of the slaughterhouses and thought holy? Shit?
Yeah HAVE i sometimes blinked that? AWAY i very? Well am.
Guilty DO i think that eating meat is always? Wrong
i'm not? There is that a valid respec sponds at this? Measure?
(40:01):
Yeah is this something that we need to approach in
good faith and not be dogmatic about on either? Side
And i'm, sorry people who talk about vegans can be totally,
shitty and vegans who talk about meat eaters can be totally.
Shitty and everybody needs to calm the fuck. Down you
(40:22):
know What i'm. Saying everybody. Relax that's how discourse is.
Done this is how adults treat each. Other i've Got
drew at seven eighty. Six Welcome. Drew you are live and?
Worldwide are you?
Speaker 4 (40:37):
There?
Speaker 6 (40:38):
Hey they're safy hearing?
Speaker 2 (40:39):
Me is This drew McCoy of genetically Modified skeptic one
and the.
Speaker 7 (40:45):
Same how you.
Speaker 2 (40:46):
Doing we just bumped into each other on A texas.
Run he AND i were speaking at an event In
austin and you were Reading it's funny because you were
reading hate comments during the event and you let the
people in the audience read the tweets and. Stuff it
was freaking. Hysterical it was just. Awesome so, anyway it's
(41:09):
good to talk to you, Again. Drew CAN i start
with a first? Car what the first vehicle you ever?
Speaker 6 (41:14):
Had, yeah the first VEHICLE i ever HAD i got
WHEN i was, sixteen AND i was one of those
lucky ones who got. That and it was a two
thousand and six Silver Honda element and my friends called
it the.
Speaker 7 (41:28):
Toaster that was.
Speaker 2 (41:29):
Fitting Now i've got a visual. Image, Okay, drew what?
Else what else is on your? Mind all?
Speaker 6 (41:38):
Right so on the note of the, car you, KNOW
i was a sixteen seventeen year old and it was
cool THAT i had a. CAR i would drive my
friends around in the, car those who were allowed to
drive around with. Me as you, KNOW i grew up
in a fundamentalist church where rock music was considered, satanic
BUT i didn't really buy. That by the TIME i
was sixteen or, seventeen SO i listened to some pretty
(41:59):
A knochi was, clean, good, good clean rock music with my.
Friends and one day outside the, church a scandal erupted
BECAUSE i was listening to some music out there after
the church service while everyone's, fellowshipping AND i wanted to go,
home and one of my friends comes in and turns
(42:21):
on do you remember the end of The SpongeBob movie
where they play that twisted sister parody but he, Says
i'm a goofy.
Speaker 2 (42:27):
GOOBER i saw The SpongeBob. Movie, no you're gonna have
to describe it for.
Speaker 6 (42:32):
Me, yeah so there's a twisted sister SONG i want to.
Rock but basically The SpongeBob movie did a version of
this where it Said i'm a goofy goober rock and it.
Sangals but, anyway my friend wanted to listen to that,
song and so you put that song on in my
car in the church parking lot and he ranks that
(42:54):
shit way. UP i, mean it was painful to my
ears how loud he cranked. THAT i think my stereo
couldn't go any. Louder and WHEN i tell, you my
mother teleported to my car to rip that knob right
off and tell me we could not be playing music like,
that because the people in the church were already already
(43:17):
talking about. It it was a scandal that lasted for
at least three or four, weeks people in the church,
saying did you hear that satanic rock music coming from
one of our youth group kids cars right there in
the parking lot after?
Speaker 2 (43:34):
Church that is.
Speaker 7 (43:35):
SHAMEFUL i was the.
Speaker 2 (43:36):
Devil the seeds of evil were planted in you, early my.
Friend and look at you, now, yep look at you.
Speaker 7 (43:44):
Now it was All.
Speaker 5 (43:45):
SpongeBob it.
Speaker 6 (43:46):
WAS i can Thank SpongeBob And Stephen hillenberg And Tom
kenny for being.
Speaker 7 (43:50):
The ATHEIST i am.
Speaker 2 (43:51):
Thing, yeah, absolutely that's. Great anything else BEFORE i move? On, Brother,
no that's it for, Me.
Speaker 7 (43:57):
SETH i appreciate your.
Speaker 6 (43:58):
Work have fun with the rest of your.
Speaker 2 (43:59):
Show you've got a. Man we'll see you.
Speaker 4 (44:01):
Later.
Speaker 2 (44:01):
Bye there was a rift In christian circles in the nineteen,
eighties the satanic panic about Contemporary christian. Music remember that
in the Seventies Larry norman rising, up and then we
Saw petra and The Resurrection, band a lot of these
other that you, know we started to see the incorporation
of the electric guitar and the, drums you, know and
(44:24):
sodos and long hair and big stage type stuff with
the smoke and the flash, pots et. Cetera and so
there was this big rift In christian circles about whether
or not this was just a new form Of jesus,
music an evolution Of jesus, music or it was us
trying to be like the. World why would we be
(44:46):
like the? World those are sexual. Rhythms this is the,
sensuality the carnality of an evil. Planet so why are
we selling? Out and we had pastors who would go
and preach whole Cir SO i REMEMBER i was sitting
at First Baptist, Church, Katusa, oklahoma WHEN i was a.
Teenager by the, Way katusa is exactly the kind of
(45:09):
town you would picture having the Name, Katusa. Okay so
we had this big guest preacher come in Named Bill,
stern and he was going hard At Petra petra with
those guitars and solos and drums and all that long. Hair,
oh this is the devil's. Work guess What i'm wearing
(45:30):
When i'm sitting out in the pew and they did have.
Pews i'm sitting out there at A Petra not Of
This world concert t shirt, on AND i wanted to
crawl into a. Hole BUT i was also, pissed, like
what's wrong With? Petra give me a. Break and it
turns out that he liked country, Music so don't tell
me that all that down and dirty love him and lead,
(45:52):
him leave them music is okay With, god but everything
else is of the. Devil he really came down to personal.
Preference you, KNOW i just found that. Interesting but you,
Know christians are always fighting about what's Actually christian and
nobody can. Agree so much more of this show to,
(46:15):
come so much more to listen, to and so many
more of your. Calls we continue in just a. Second
don't Forget i've got a second podcast Called True stories
With Seth. ANDREWS i am not releasing three a week
(46:37):
anymore BECAUSE i have just been. Flying i've been on the,
road and we've been doing all this show prep. Etc
but we still HAVE i say, WE i still have
well over four hundred of these shows ready to listen,
to And i'm trying to do at least, one if
not two a. Week you can go To True stories
podcast dot, com or you can subscribe To Seth Andrews's
(47:01):
True stories on all major podcast. Apps, steve are you, There, Yeah, Hi.
Speaker 5 (47:10):
Seth.
Speaker 2 (47:11):
Welcome let's talk and begin with first. Car what do you?
Speaker 3 (47:14):
Got?
Speaker 5 (47:15):
Well WHEN i was almost sixteen years, OLD i had
to ride my bike, everywhere and sixteen was a big
birthday for me because not only WAS i going to
get my driver's, license BUT i was also able to
get a job as a bag boy at a grocery.
Store AND i got the, job AND i had a
guy working there with, me an older guy who was a,
(47:38):
clerk and he had a nineteen fifty Nine opal. Record
it was A german made, car.
Speaker 10 (47:44):
The old beat up.
Speaker 5 (47:46):
CAR i don't know how many MILES i had on.
It it, ran it was looking like a, car and
he said he'd sell to me for fifty, dollars SO
i bought the. Car it was really one of the
best Cars i've ever. Owned it took me through my
first couple of years of high school AND i loved.
Speaker 2 (48:03):
IT i remember BACK i mentioned THAT Bw. Rabbit it
was so small that a couple of my school buddies
say they took four of. Them but the car was
so small that WHEN i would be in class and
they were out for whatever, reason they went out to
the parking lot and they lifted the car up and
they turned it horizontally in the parking space with a
(48:26):
car on each, side SO i couldn't get. OUT i
had to wait till whoever was parked in the space
next to me to leave BEFORE i could go. Home
and they thought that was the funniest. THING i just
never forgot, That, Steve what else is on your? Mind anything? Else?
Speaker 5 (48:44):
YEAH i wanted to talk About trump and his health
scare or whatever you want to call. IT i, mean
the man is. OBESE i heard the conversation about the vegan.
Diet trump is definitely not a. VEGAN i think he
subsists entirely on junk. Food And i'm just wondering what you.
Think is he on his last? Legs is the guy
(49:06):
gonna are they gonna keep him alive through some kind
of chemical treatment or what the hell is going to happen?
Here because it's pretty. Scary he's got the, cankles he's
got the bruises on his. HANDS i, mean it's uh
one and one Thing i'd like him To i'd like
him to move, on go to the the next world
if there is, one and, uh but Then i'm scared
(49:28):
shitless ABOUT. Jd vance becoming. President so what do you, Think.
Speaker 2 (49:32):
Well we have proven on the left that we are
not immune from conspiracy theories BECAUSE i think he disappeared
for a period of time and everybody started to speculate
and lose their. Minds and that's fun to do, SOMETIMES i.
THINK i, mean in my, GOD i Think trump will
live another decade on hate, alone hate. Fueled. MAN i don't.
(49:56):
KNOW i have no. IDEA i don't want him to
be on stage at a rally and suddenly clutch his
heart and fall, over and then he gets a king's.
Funeral he'll die a martyr in some ways, Anyway BUT
i would REALLY i agree With James. FELT i want
to see him more and more diminished and adult and,
(50:16):
weak AND i want to see him stumbling over the,
stages AND i want to see him making more and
more word, salad AND i want to see drool coming
out of his, mouth AND i want to see him
shit himself at a press. CONFERENCE i, mean is this?
PETTY i don't think. SO i want to change the
perception Of Donald trump in the minds of The magat
cult where they used to, Think, wow he's so, big
(50:37):
he's so. Strong he's standing there in his, lifts. Etc,
right and you, know he's chest thumping and wanting to
be mister army. Man And i'm, like, HEY i want their,
memory their last memory of, him to be that he
was adult and weak and fumbling and, crazy AND i
want that to. Happen will we lose him tomorrow or
(50:58):
ten years from, TOMORROW i don't. KNOW i will Say
i'm sick and tired of having to see his name
in the news every day for the last ten. Years
as far AS. Jd vance is, CONCERNED jd is smarter
and in some ways he's, slicker but he does not
enjoy the cult. Following Even maggiz think that guy is
(51:21):
about as compelling as a tax. Audit SO i do
think When trump finally kicks, It vance is not going
to hold sway and there will be a power struggle
within THE. Gop but you, know WHEN. Jd vance comes,
in he's going to be a little, smoother but he's
not going to hold the cult the Way Donald trump.
(51:41):
Did AND i think there may be a big blow.
UP i think people are going to be jockey and for.
POSITION i think it's going to get super nasty and
all these transactional people are going to be groping for
their moment in the spotlight And i'm here for. IT
i don't, Know, steve what do you think is going to?
Speaker 5 (51:59):
Happen it seems to me that the hardcore mega followers
are it would almost take him to be. DEAD i,
mean he could be put out there in some kind
of a with life support systems on him connected to,
him and they'd still be, Saying, oh he's the greatest
thing that ever, happened you. Know AND i almost think
(52:20):
the only way we're going to get rid of him is, a,
uh he kicks the, Bucket so, dude.
Speaker 2 (52:25):
They could take. Him he could, die and they could
take his skin and go down to hobby lobby and
buy some of that, batting the fluffy, batting and they
could stuff his body and they would sit it at
a press conference And maga would be, Like he's the
greatest thing. EVER i swear these people are. IMPENETRABLE i, Agree, yeah.
IMPENETRABLE i. AGREE i don't know what's going to be
(52:47):
we get, It BERNIE'S i have seen those weekend At
bernie's memes where you got Heg seth And Vance and
they're Holding Donald trump up by the shoulders behind The
resolute desk and he's obviously, dead but they're trying to
pass office being, alive and he's got the sunglasses. On
i'm here for the, memes, MAN i am here for the.
Memes BUT i don't know what's going to. Happen, Steve,
(53:08):
WELL i.
Speaker 5 (53:09):
Guess we're just gonna have to hold our breath and
hope for the.
Speaker 2 (53:13):
Best all, right, Brother, Well i'll do the same and
we'll see what. Happens Thanks, Steve, yeah thank. You see leaving.
You he's going to get a king's. Funeral no matter what.
Happens it's going to be. Embarrassing it's gonna be people
waiting on the bridges and the motor CAD's probably going
to go from coast to coast and they're gonna have
music and they're statues and, GEE i just can't even.
(53:37):
IMAGINE i want to say a huge thanks out TO
I Love tofu for a super, Chat Holy schnikes of
almost fifty, Dollars thank you for the. Support i'm going
to come back to support in a, second thanks for
a pleasant discussion on animal, Rights. SETH i know we
don't all think. Alike Fun Fact canada removed Darry is
(53:59):
a food group in twenty. Eighteen, Yay shannon And. Paul
you are much. Appreciated So i've been having this. Discussion
SO i was on The Piers morgan, show, remember and
we had that conversation about the shroud of turin ad.
Nauseum i've been talking about, that But, piers that show
was what forty minutes, long and there must have been
(54:22):
twenty interruptions with. Ads it was impossible to get any,
momentum and it just got. Irritating NOW i understand. MONETIZATION
i get. IT i monetize my. Stuff so let's say
you're a full time content. CREATOR i take a commercial.
(54:42):
BREAK i try to space them out twenty, minutes twenty
five minutes when. Possible WHEN i released this speech THAT
i gave forty some, MINUTES i did not want to
interrupt this speech BECAUSE i wanted to take people on a.
Journey SO i purposefully didn't add any commercials on that,
show which MEANS i didn't earn really hardly any revenue
(55:06):
for that whole week on that. Podcast BUT i wanted
the integrity of the show to come. First i'm paying my.
Bills it's. Cool WHEN i released it to, YouTube i
did the same. Thing but even when we, stop we
take what IN fm radio it's called a commercial stop,
set when you take a break for a sponsorship so
that you can monetize and make a. LIVING i think
(55:29):
you have to be a good steward of. That AND
i SWEAR i am seeing some of these videos in
every five. Minutes it's boom boom, boom and it irritates.
Everybody it's self defeating because then fewer people are going
to click on your, thing, right which means you're not
really getting the, hits which means you're not going to
(55:50):
get paid nearly as. Much and you've alienated the people
who came for the. Content and it's a back and.
Forth and it's one of the reasons THAT i ask,
people if you like what you, hear to consider becoming
a patron at patreon dot com Slash Seth. Andrews not
just BECAUSE i provide a completely commercial free and early
version of the, show but another reason THAT i do
(56:11):
that is BECAUSE i want to support my work without
having to hit the freaking breaks every five minutes for.
ADS i don't want to be that. GUY i don't
want to run. That i'm not going to do that
to my. Channel i'm not going to do it to.
You and if you don't Like, patreon you can go
to the, website The thinkingatheist dot com and do a
little subscription thing. There you, know no one's required, to
(56:34):
but you also don't have to hit skip ad every two. Minutes.
Jesus After Piers, MORGAN i thought this is a. Cancer
why WOULD i go back To even IF i liked,
peers AND i really, don't why WOULD i go back
to that? Channel it's. ANNOYING i want to be a good.
Steward you will see, eds you will hear, ads but
(56:54):
you're not going to hear them the way you hear
them on a shit ton of other. Channels even and
it cost me, Money it doesn't make me all that,
noble BUT i am a GOOD i want to be
a good steward of you and your, time your, interest your. Supports,
okay so that's my little, thing that's my that's my elevator. Speech,
(57:16):
Kids let's. Continue we've got a little. Time patrick is
dialing in from seven to one to. Three Welcome, Patrick
are you, There, yes, SIR i am first. Car you
want to add yours to the list that we've heard.
Speaker 10 (57:30):
Today, yes my first car was A Toyota, prius just
as a fourteen A.
Speaker 2 (57:37):
Prius it. WAS i was given a ride at an
event FROM i think the venue to a restaurant in
A prius and you know what struck me is that
they look a lot bigger on the inside than you would.
Think did you experience, THAT i, mean they look kind of,
compact and then you get in and you're, like, WOW
(57:58):
i feel Like i'm in the doctor whose phone booth
kind of. Thing did you feel, That, Patrick.
Speaker 9 (58:03):
Well it.
Speaker 10 (58:04):
Was And i'll tell you maybe this is a little
bit too much, information but that was my dad's body for,
me AND i was just a freshman in. College it
was my high school graduation. Gift and that was around
the time THAT i got my first. Girlfriend so you
would imagine the things that didn't that little l la
la la.
Speaker 2 (58:21):
La i'll let. You you can keep that in your
own head and the rest of us will just assume
you had a grand grand. Time anything, Else, patrick that
you wanted to talk about, Today.
Speaker 10 (58:35):
YES i do have a few things AND i REALLY
i hope you will be passionate with me. Here, FIRST
i would like to compliment. You you just called yourself
out with a discussion about. Veganism you said that it
might be a hypocrite and that's a sign of. Intelligence
AND i already thought you're a, smart smart, guy but
that was another sign of you being that.
Speaker 2 (58:57):
Smart SO i don't feel SO i don't you, know
you're very.
Speaker 10 (59:03):
INTELLIGENT i think, people most people don't have this mark
to call themselves out when they might be hypocrites or
when they might be. Going you, know it's okay to
realize your faults and be okay with, them because once
you realize, them then if you're willing, to you will
know where to start from working on getting making them.
Speaker 2 (59:25):
Better when you know, better you do better than Maya
angelou QUOTE i guess comes into. Pool but you're very
kindactly AND i appreciate, That, patrick thanks to being.
Speaker 10 (59:35):
Encouragement, ALSO i watch your nanocone speech and that's WHEN
i was, like you know, WHAT i can't just keep
watching this. Guy i've got to call him and compliment
him on the things that he. Does i've been a
long time viewer of, yours but after the nonocone, SPEECH
i was, like all, Right i've got to set her
to this.
Speaker 2 (59:53):
Guy, well thank, YOU i will Spend you, KNOW i
really went a little harder THAN i normally. Go BUT
i also feel like this is where a lot of
people at in our cultural. Moment they don't want the
spark to die in their, heart but at the same
time they're pissed and. Exasperated and IF i can do,
(01:00:13):
anything and there's a LOT i cannot, Do but IF
i can do, anything SOMETIMES i can give voice and
provide language to express what many people are thinking and.
Feeling they may not have the, words BUT i can
find them and then they can sort of live it
out vicariously through. Me. Patrick so you have been a great.
Encouragement oh, yeah thank you for.
Speaker 10 (01:00:32):
That thank you so. Much all, right NOW i have
a question for. You a, question and Now i'll be
out of.
Speaker 2 (01:00:37):
Here you're.
Speaker 10 (01:00:38):
Fine miss A JOY i forget her first, Name APRIL A.
Speaker 2 (01:00:42):
Joy, yeah just interviewed her on the channel epar A.
Speaker 10 (01:00:45):
Joy are we ever going to see more of?
Speaker 2 (01:00:47):
Her she is really getting noticed for those who may
not know. Quickly she is a Progressive. Christian she's a
friend of, mine and she is a fierce opponent Of christian.
Nationalism and many people think this is an, oxymoron but
it is.
Speaker 4 (01:01:04):
Not.
Speaker 2 (01:01:05):
Her jesus would never judge, Anybody he would never condemn gay,
people he would never create or send people to. Hell
and she has sort of walked through and we've had
a conversation about The bible and all, that but Her
jesus would never do. That so hers is very much
a cherry picked by her own, admission cherry picked personal.
Faith but she's lovely and she is a wonderful person
(01:01:27):
and we share. Values but she is really getting noticed on,
TikTok AND i think Even Ben, shapiro was It Ben
shapiro Or Charlie kirk has been giving her, shit specifically
her with. Response. Yeah so if you're getting noticed By
cretans Like shapiro And, carlson THEN i think you know your.
(01:01:51):
Star for lack of a better way of saying, it
your star may be on the. Rise SO i think
we'll be seeing and hearing morphrom.
Speaker 10 (01:01:57):
He that also means that she's ruffling the.
Speaker 2 (01:02:00):
Feathers, yeah if you pissed them, off it's been a good,
day Right, Patrick oh, yeah, yes, sir. Awesome, well thanks
for calling so.
Speaker 10 (01:02:09):
That the discussion you had with, HER i thought was
just an introduction and you would have another, discussion although
here a speech from her.
Speaker 2 (01:02:19):
Later, well by the time she AND i sat down
for the interview that published on my channel three or
four weeks, ago she had already published a nationally known
book Called Star Spangled jesus and had a lot of
success on her own. Channel and in, fact it was
because of that THAT i noticed her AND i reached
out AND i, Said, hey we're going to be at
(01:02:39):
this convention, together let's Hang and, so you, know she
certainly didn't need to need me to signal boost. Her
but she's. FANTASTIC i just think she's, wonderful and she's
on the right side of so many issues when it
comes to Opposing christian nationalism and protecting state church separation
and saying let's love people AND i judge, them and
(01:03:01):
SO i JUST i think she's, Fantastic, Patrick but appreciate.
You you know the fact that it resonated with. You
that's that's pretty. Amazing so thank.
Speaker 10 (01:03:10):
You one last, Question, okay the topic of divine appointment
for kings so kind of like what they do In
europe in THE. Uk what do you think about? That
AND i do have a personal story with. THAT a
friend of mine maybe is of the lineage of chiefs From.
(01:03:31):
Africa so he's been appointed or he's getting ready to
eventually one day become to succeed his. Father but in
order to succeed his, father he has to be divinely
appointed in their traditional, religion which Is. Christianity but he's
also been grappling with the idea Of christianity through watching
(01:03:53):
people like, yourself and he doesn't think that he's A christian.
Anymore but he's also very very interesting and invested in
leading his, people and not only, leading but serving his.
People but in order to get to that, point so
it would have to be A. Christian that way he
can get appointed by the religious leaders and you, know
(01:04:16):
quote Unquote god choosing. Him do you think that he
should hold onto His christianity and maybe almost be in
a closet with His christianity or should he come out
and profess to be an?
Speaker 7 (01:04:30):
Atheist?
Speaker 2 (01:04:31):
OH i, can't. SIR i, Mean i'd like to see
as many people as possible be their authentic. SELVES i
think if you are a non, believer but Profess christianity
as a. STRATEGY i can't get around the fact that
you're still. Lying you're giving cover to the. Religion, now
if he's playing chessnut checkers because he wants to maneuver
(01:04:53):
into a position of influence to further secularize, it that's
a different. Discussion BUT i just don't like the idea of.
Lying you, know the greater good, thing you, know the
means justifying the ends. Things i'm just not there in my.
Mind and you, know you don't choose to be A.
(01:05:14):
Christian you either believe or you don't. Believe, organically, hey
you know you can choose what you, profess and beyond,
THAT i don't really care too much about your. LABELS
a lot of people who Are christians and then begin to.
Doubt they enter kind of. Spirituality there is A, god
but he's he loves, everybody and then you, Know i'm not,
(01:05:34):
religious But i'm, spiritual and maybe there are there's an,
afterlife and then they kind of. Drift sometimes they go
All New. Age there's there's this membrane of safety where
you haven't left, god belief or a spirituality per. Se
so it's not as scary because when you SAY i
don't believe In. God there's a finality to that that
(01:05:57):
freaks some people. OUT i can't tell this person how
to act or, react other than to encourage them to
find a way to do so without being a. Liar, okay, yes,
sir that makes. Sense thank. You the speech THAT i
am giving In sacramento and In albuquerque, again and, WOW
i Just i'm not Drunk albuquerque And denver has to
(01:06:20):
do with those who have claimed the divine right of.
Kings they have said, that, well it's not my idea
THAT i have been appointed to rule with the CAPITAL.
R i am an appointment of The. Almighty and this
has been. Done god has been, Weaponized this shit has
been sold to the masses since there have been autocrats
(01:06:42):
and dictators and tyrants and. Kings how convenient look at?
Me not my idea That i'm, wealthy influential and obscenely,
powerful and that you essentially have been stripped of your
choices and identity to bend the knee. Right, yes It's god's,
idea just divine. Destiny it's The. Lord how convenient has that?
(01:07:05):
Been and in my PRESENTATION i sort of relate the
current day situation to the dictator's, autocrats the kings of
our past who were invoking the name Of god and
banging their, bibles and how somehow, people a great many
people seem to just fall for. It some savior comes
(01:07:25):
in and, Says i'm going to root out the vermin
And i'm gonna make us. Great and there's a whole.
Demographic i'm not in this. AUDIENCE i don't think it's
a whole. Demographic they're, like, yeah they just surrender themselves
absolute blind, trust and they get, taken they get scammed
(01:07:48):
and conned and, abused you, know abuse me. More, YES
i would like to be the slave of this autocrat
because he made a promise to me that somehow makes
me feel all warm and fussy, inside.
Speaker 5 (01:08:03):
AND i just like the.
Speaker 2 (01:08:04):
Sheep how often do people have to be abused by
abusers in this way before they stop celebrating the? Enslavers
someone explained to me the worship of the. Autocrats yay,
billionaires those people who are wasting billions of dollars On
(01:08:26):
mars rockets that are never going to go To, mars
and they're buying a half billion dollar yachts cruising around
living an obscene. AMOUNT i swear if all of the
billionaires were to commit all of their extra, dollars AND
i mean they can still be, millionaires all, right knock yourself,
out be. Successful but how much is elon? Worth it's gone,
(01:08:51):
down But i'm gonna just Go i'm gonna lowball. It
three hundred billion billion? Dollars? Right what is that three
Hundred is that three thousand? Million AM i doing the
math right on the. Fly imagine all that money committed
to eliminating suffering in this. World imagine houses for the
(01:09:12):
people sleeping in the. Street imagine cancer, Research imagine the
aid to impoverished. Countries imagine the good that could be
done with the money that people are spending on expensive
toys that benefit two. People AND i am surrounded by
these folks who look at these billionaires and they're, like
all this slobber all over. Them, oh, eli he's so,
(01:09:39):
smart he's so. Rich that's the dream. Con and you
know who sneaks in to our halls of power and
back doors all of our social security information and private
information out the back door for who knows what end or,
purpose with no. Accountability it's the guy they've been worship
(01:10:00):
these personal, freedoms and, Hey i'm a, private independent, citizen
and don't tread on. Me those people, essentially they just got.
Scammed they just handed over the passwords to, somebody and
they're okay with. IT i, SWEAR i swear one last,
break SEEING i could have taken a break every five,
(01:10:23):
minutes but new it's just past the hour. Mark BUT
i will take a break and we will continue with
our last segment of the broadcast in just a. Second
(01:10:44):
four zero, two is?
Speaker 6 (01:10:45):
It?
Speaker 2 (01:10:45):
John, yeah appreciate.
Speaker 6 (01:10:48):
You.
Speaker 2 (01:10:48):
John let's talk what's on your?
Speaker 9 (01:10:50):
Mind pretty much everything you're just talking about the economy and.
Everything you. Know i'm not happy with the direction it's obviously.
Going it's been going this way for a. WHILE i,
mean just reality that own nothing and like it or.
WHATEVER i, Think i'm just willing to accept. IT i
don't see myself being able to. RETIRE i don't see
myself owning a. HOME i don't see a lot of my, generation,
(01:11:12):
millennials you, know to do any of that. STUFF i
see a lot of, addiction drug, addictions all sorts of. Addictions.
REALLY i see suicide. RATES i see a lot of
problems with this country when it comes to money. Economics
people are full of a lot of, greed. PRIDE a
lot of people claim that they're middle class whatever that.
(01:11:33):
Means you, know they could be sitting there in debt
and they could still tell you, know, oh you, know
they're buying a, home they got the, car but they're
in debt and they're telling you that they're middle class
and they're proud of. It there's just a lot of
things that just doesn't make. Sense all the money that
goes to, war you, know this thing With. VENEZUELA i
don't understand why we got to go steal other countries.
OIL i just don't understand why we can't work on,
(01:11:55):
maybe you, know developing something new like maybe using used
cooking vegetable oil or. SOMETHING i don't, know you, know
just trying to be. Creative but, YEAH i JUST i
think that the other thing about this election maybe is
the last, one you, know maybe maybe that's. It maybe
people aren't going to stand. Up maybe people are just
eventually just going to give up and just Let america
(01:12:17):
just get taken over by who's already in control basically,
anyway as the. Billionaires SO i don't, know, man you,
Know i'm just kind of feeling Like i'm not really
feeling too, optimistic kind of filling all boom and gloom and.
Stuff you, KNOW i do. VOTE i don't. KNOW i
JUST i can't really convince others to do the. SAME
i mean you can, try you, Know i've tried to
volunteer and stuff and, everything get the word out, whatever
(01:12:40):
BUT i don't, know just not really feeling. It AND
i DON'T i don't really see, myself LIKE i, said
not having a, house not really having a. Future it's
kind of getting late in the game to go to,
college so not that that really makes a. Difference, Anyways
i'm thinking about maybe joining a hippie, commune or maybe
maybe If canada would loosen up their you, know there
(01:13:00):
are no laws and just let some citizens up. There
maybe just moved To, canada you, KNOW i don't. Know
here they got universal health.
Speaker 2 (01:13:06):
HERE a lot of that resonates with, me so you
can vent. Here this is what we call a safe.
Space BEFORE i move, On, john did you want to
mention your first.
Speaker 9 (01:13:15):
CAR i think it was an osmobile or used one
from like the nineteen. Eighties it was like a three
hundred dollars car to get me to, school and on
my way to, School i'd just like to mention That
i'd always see this. Billboard it was A Wells fargo,
advertisement and that billboard said, someday and it's it's, interesting you,
(01:13:36):
Know it's LIKE I i think SOMETIMES i think about
that WHEN i drive through that intersection where that billboard.
Was but, someday you, know as in someday you'll be
able to own a. House someday you'll be able to
own that. Car, someday someday when you have the. Money,
yeah you, Know, hey thanks to every good.
Speaker 2 (01:13:52):
One appreciate. You for those who are international, Callers Wells
fargo is a. Bank i'm sure you made that. Connection
we were talking about buying a, home, Like i'm a
man in his fifties And i'm still paying this house, payment,
right AND i was looking at the amortization, schedule and
it is remarkable that our system has us pay for
(01:14:16):
our homes three times, over, right with all of the
interest in the way they've stacked. It you pay for
your house with a, mortgage BECAUSE i, mean who's got
the cash to buy a? House i'm NOT i don't,
know are you kidding? ME i don't know? That so
you get the mortgage AND i did a fifteen year
the last time we went, in BECAUSE i was, like
(01:14:37):
at least that's a way not TO i Think i'm
paying for my house twice now instead of three. Times
But i'm still paying for that, house going to be
paying for it for many. Years and you, know you
don't own the home because banks from the, world AND
i think about all of the interest and the fees
and the, extras the add, ons the ansel very. Stuff
(01:15:00):
we just bleed to. Death we just bleed to. Death
it's just. Immoral but we do it anyway because it's
a system that we're acclimated to and we don't know
any different than it is better than some other. Systems
and at Least i've got a, home got a roof
over my. Head this is our, place our safe. Place
(01:15:21):
but why have we agreed to allow banks to charge
us essentially three times for something we're buying. Once i've
also heard something. Else don't take this to the, bank
if you'll pardon the, expression But i've heard that if
you pay an extra house payment or two every, year the,
(01:15:45):
principle the extra principle at the beginning of your mortgage
schedule will knock years off of the end of the mortgage.
Schedule so instead of paying something off in, thirty if
you pay an extra house payment or two at the front,
End like who can afford to do? That but if
you do that in the first five, years you might
(01:16:05):
KNOCK i don't, know ten years off the end of the.
Note somebody said something like, That i'm not a financial.
Advisor last, call it's going to be six one. Nine
it Is. Darcy, Welcome. Darcy are you? There?
Speaker 12 (01:16:20):
Hi how you?
Speaker 2 (01:16:21):
Doing i'm? Good first, car let's start.
Speaker 12 (01:16:24):
There, WELL i had motorcycles up until the TIME i
was in my late, twenties so my first car was
a brand new. Car it was a nineteen eighty Seven
Toyota tursell The. Hatchback we bought it In florida and
drove it across the country a year and a half
two years later To San diego with three, cats a,
(01:16:48):
bike a, surfboard and most of our daily needs packed into,
it and it was about a five day. Trip it
was kind of.
Speaker 2 (01:16:55):
Fun we weren't. Allowed my mother's brother was killed in
a motorcycle, wreck so motorcycles were forbidden in Our dad
wanted to buy, one AND i had one for two
months WHEN i was like twenty and she lost her.
Mind AND i do agree that they are extremely dangerous
that knock yourself out if you're a. BIKER i think
(01:17:17):
they can be. Amazing but for some reason she did
allow us to have a. Moped do you remember the? Moped?
Speaker 12 (01:17:25):
Yeah and you KNOW i think my opinion is that
the moped and the electric bikes of today are much
more dangerous than a, motorcycle simply because of their breaking.
CAPABILITY a, motorcycle a true motorcycle has very powerful, breaks
and mopeds and electric bicycles have bicycle. Breaks and what'll
(01:17:50):
get you in trouble more than not being seen is
not being able to.
Speaker 2 (01:17:53):
Stop for those who don't know what a moped, is
it's not like the electric, bikes quite like the electric bike,
today although they are kind of. Similar imagine a weed
eater motor wired into an Old shwin bicycle and it
had a max speed of maybe thirty so you could
pedal like a bicycle if you, chose and it didn't
(01:18:17):
have a, kickstart so you would pedal and then you
would pop the clutch and the moped would, start and
then you sounded like this going up the. Road it
was just like a pathetic and you're. Right that thing
Was rickety had a friend come over and he wrote
it for a little, bit tipped it broke his. Arm
it was just a. Nightmare but you, know hashtag. Irony
(01:18:39):
we had a moped in our house for a number of.
Months what kind of do you still ride? Today?
Speaker 12 (01:18:45):
WELL i have two motorcycles now THAT i haven't ridden
in a few years Because i'm getting on in ears
and my balance and my reaction time it's just not
what it used to.
Speaker 9 (01:18:56):
BE i miss.
Speaker 12 (01:18:58):
IT i WISH i could still, ride but my strength
and my balance are Just i'm not confident.
Speaker 2 (01:19:03):
ANYMORE i kind of like the e. Bikes we rented
some of those at the park where you Had natalie's grandkids,
over and those things can. MOVE i wasn't expecting.
Speaker 12 (01:19:15):
That i've got one of those, too and it does
both pedal and brottle and it does go pretty.
Speaker 2 (01:19:20):
Good yeah, Yeah, well was there anything else on your mind? Today?
Speaker 12 (01:19:26):
Well two. Things, one you were talking about, mortgages and you're.
Right if you pay more in your premium against your
principle every, month you will pay off. QUICKER i have
been paying more THAN i owe for about five, years
AND i knocked about five years off of my mortgage
And i'm actually paying it off next.
Speaker 2 (01:19:47):
Month look at, you which is a look at. You
the idea of waking up without a car payment must be. Magical,
yeah and.
Speaker 12 (01:19:57):
Without a house, payment so.
Speaker 2 (01:20:00):
THAT i say car, Payment, DARCY i THINK i said
car house. Payment, Yeah i'm sorry Not it's just my
mind needs more more sweet, nectar more coffee with cream
and splendid anything else on your.
Speaker 12 (01:20:13):
Mind just one thing that's in the news THAT i
don't see too many people talking, about and that was
the extra judicial extermination execution of eleven people in a
boat in The caribbean off Of, venezuela like THE Us,
navy that was allegedly drug. Runners and in NO us
(01:20:39):
That i've lived in has drugs been a capital offense
for one? Thing and we're not at war With. Venezuela
and where's.
Speaker 4 (01:20:50):
The hag there's my.
Speaker 12 (01:20:51):
Question and who's going to hold this administration accountable for
eleven souls that were?
Speaker 2 (01:20:57):
MURDERED i think the answer to your question is, nobody
because they tick the boxes, right they are the other
they are outside our. Border and we live in a
time when war is a video. Game so we've so
depersonalized the, violence, right you just go out and take
(01:21:18):
the boat. Out everybody, dies but there's no personal. Feeling
no one has the gravity of that event in their
mind and. Hearts they just wiped out a bunch of,
vermin you, know so to. Speak so, hey it's a
net positive for. Humanity and this is the culture that
is being promoted from the. TOP i don't think there
will be any accountability.
Speaker 12 (01:21:35):
Whatsoever, sadly, well there will be when some of, them
the dehumanized, other decides to take it out on Some american,
tourists there will be. Retribution there will be a you,
know an, ESCALATION i.
Speaker 10 (01:21:49):
Think and the.
Speaker 12 (01:21:54):
No no humanization IS.
Speaker 2 (01:22:00):
I got a spam call, Coming don't you hate? That
i'm getting spam texts and they're all. Sneaky they're, like,
hey were you trying to reach me question? Mark And i'm, like,
No i'm not falling for. That or, Hey i'm going
to be five minutes late to dinner, Tonight i'll see
you at seven point, thirty you, know respond and let
(01:22:21):
me know you got. THIS i, mean they're way, sneaky
and you can tell how some people would totally be, like,
oh who's this DID i have dinner. Plans it's pretty,
Pathetic so don't sweat. It, No so you're talking about a,
response it caused and effect. Retribution so then they carry
out what they consider to be a retributive act against,
us and then we escalate against, them and it goes
(01:22:42):
on and, on.
Speaker 12 (01:22:42):
Right, Yeah and who's going to lose their lives because of?
This that's you, know this dehumanizing of these others that
it's just. Insane it's.
Speaker 2 (01:22:54):
Barbaric it's something that needs to be known and talked.
ABOUT i don't know much about, this So i'm going
to go out to do some homework on my, End, Okay.
Speaker 12 (01:23:01):
Darcy, YEAH i mean the interesting thing is that any
other regime would have hidden, it and there's a video of.
It they're bragging about.
Speaker 2 (01:23:11):
It, yeah it's the culture we live. In, Sadly, darcy
be safe out, There, okay ride or die and we'll
catch you. LATER i see you.
Speaker 4 (01:23:22):
Later.
Speaker 2 (01:23:24):
YEAH i had a, motorcycle not for. Long but when
mom found, out she lost her. MIND i MEAN i get.
IT i get the. CONCERN i mean it's, DANGEROUS i get.
IT i get. It BUT i was Like, jesus you,
know give me a, break my decision to. RIDE i
wasn't very good at, it and that's WHY i got
rid of. It another vehicle we had in the family
(01:23:47):
was this Old Toyota corolla station wagon and it was
funny for two. Reasons first of, all my younger sister
decided one day she was going to do our parents
a big favor and she was going to go and
wash and wax the. Car but what she didn't realize
was the sponge that she was using was corrosive or
(01:24:08):
it had almost a sand papery kind of a. Texture
so when she was waxing the car with this, sponge
she actually grooved circles into the. Paint so she depainted
the car and until they GOT i don't know if
they did they even get it, fixed it had these
(01:24:30):
swirls in the. Paint but the best part about The
Toyota corolla was that on the back hatch of the station,
wagon you know those little nozzles that shoot the washer
fluid straight down onto the window and then the wiper
will clean the. Window, well our nozzle it snapped. OFF
i have no idea. How it was an old, car
(01:24:52):
so when you hit the button for the back window,
washer the liquid would shoot straight out on the vehicle behind. You,
WELL i was a pain in the ass. Kid and
we would be in traffic And i'd be sitting along
and driving along on the city. Street somebody's tailgating my.
(01:25:14):
Ass now get off my bumper to get and so
WHAT i would WHAT i would do IS i would
just reach down and and the washer fluid would fly
all over the. Car one guy was so. Pissed he
had a two liter bottle of, soda like half drunk
(01:25:36):
bottle of, soda and he pulled he chucked it at
my vehicle out of his. Window he missed the, car
but it flew right by me AND i could kind
of see what it.
