Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hello. I'm Giles, the host of This Is Monsters. Over
the years, I've had another show called Somewhere Sinister, which
I've hosted off and on. It's been paused for quite
a while, but I'm bringing it back and it will
be my main focus as I wind down This Is
Monsters over the next year or so. I've enjoyed making
this show, and I appreciate all of the support I've gotten,

(00:23):
but I've started to burn out on only making episodes
about horrible people and would like to work on a
wider variety of topics. That's why moving to Somewhere Sinister.
It's more of a history show than a true crime show,
but it is true crime adjacent. Of course, crimes are
a topic from time to time, but more often the
episode is about something unfortunate happening in history. The show

(00:47):
is now called Sinister, and there will be three episodes
a week. Somewhere Sinister, where we tell you a dark
story from around the world, will be Monday. Someone Sinister,
where we tell you a story of someone who turned
out to be not such a great person, will be Wednesday.
Then Something Sinister, where we tell you a story about

(01:08):
a device of death, will be on Friday, either something
commonly used to kill or something not intended to kill
but was used for that anyway. The first new episode
of Somewhere Sinister is up now, and we take you
on a trip to China where we discuss the horrors
that took place at Unit seven thirty one. On Wednesday,
we'll be in Salem, Massachusetts to tell you about a

(01:30):
man who heavily influenced the events of the Salem witch Trials.
If you enjoy the show, odds are you'll like Sinister,
so check it out. It's available wherever you listen to podcasts,
and it's also available on YouTube with full visuals. Again,
I want to thank you for listening to this as monsters,
and I hope you continue to enjoy the show over

(01:51):
the next year or so as I wind things down,
and I would appreciate anyone checking out Sinister and subscribing.
If you enjoy the show, there are links in the
description to help you find it. Thanks again, and be safe.

CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist

CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist

It’s 1996 in rural North Carolina, and an oddball crew makes history when they pull off America’s third largest cash heist. But it’s all downhill from there. Join host Johnny Knoxville as he unspools a wild and woolly tale about a group of regular ‘ol folks who risked it all for a chance at a better life. CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist answers the question: what would you do with 17.3 million dollars? The answer includes diamond rings, mansions, velvet Elvis paintings, plus a run for the border, murder-for-hire-plots, and FBI busts.
