Speaker 1 (00:15):
Good morning, and welcome into our devotion time today. One
of the things that I love to do is sit
on my porch in the morning and watch the sunrise.
And every time I have the privilege of doing that,
I am reminded that it marks time and that I
only have so many of those in my lifetime to
(00:36):
take advantage of. But it also marks new beginnings, and
with every sunrise is the new beginning of a new day.
So I want us to take a time this morning
and just thank God for this day before we do
anything else. Let us thank God for this day and
(00:57):
enjoy this moment that we have together. You know, the
Bible reminds us of this in James Chapter four, in
verse number fourteen says, whereas you know not what shall
be on tomorrow, For what is your life? It is
even a vapor that appears for a little time and
then vanishes away. When I read this first this morning,
(01:22):
it serves a reminder and awakens us the reality that
life is short and that every moment counts. Every day,
we are blessed with opportunities to create memories, to connect
with other people, to experience the beauty of the world
around us. But somehow if We're honest this morning. In
(01:46):
our pursuit of our goals and our ambitions and the
hustle of everyday responsibilities, we're guilty of overlooking the significance
of the present moment. We may find ourselves sometimes postponing happiness,
waiting for the right time to enjoy life, or thinking
(02:08):
that we have plenty of time to reconnect with loved ones.
But what if we choose to embrace it now instead
until if fully in the moment really means to appreciate
the little things. Perhaps this morning it's a warm cup
of coffee, it's the laughter of a child. Maybe it's
(02:30):
the vibrant colors of a sunset at the end of
a day, and of course those birds singing in the trees.
It's about savoring those simple pleasures that often go so unnoticed.
But I believe this morning, if we could just shift
our focus from what lies ahead to what we have
(02:54):
right now, then we'll begin to develop the true meaning
of what it means to be blamed. How often do
you find yourself distracted by your phone, are lost in
thoughts of what needs to be done later when you're
actually with family and friends right now. By being present,
(03:15):
we honor our relationships. We're able to create lasting memories
because every smile, every conversation, and every shared experience becomes
a treasure that not only riches our life, but will
live past our life. Because James fourteen are four fourteen,
(03:39):
it also serves this morning as I reflect on it.
It's kind of a call to action because I understand
the fragile state of life, and it should inspire us
to pursue our passions and our dreams with a sense
of urgency. It invites us to take risks, to love fiercely,
to step outside of our words on if life is
(04:03):
but a vapor, and why not fill it with experiences
that ignite our spirit and bring us true joy. Let's
also remember that embracing every moment doesn't mean we have
to constantly be busy in pursuing something. No, it's about
finding peace and the stillness, taking time to reflect and
(04:24):
allow ourselves to simply be in the moment as we
journey through life. Let's commit to living in position and
with a purpose. Let's prioritize what truly matters our relationships,
our passions, our well being. Let's embrace adventures, seek beauty
(04:46):
in the ordinary things, of life and spread kindness wherever
we go. Be safe, be strong, and be blessed. Make
some life lasting memories with those you love. Have a
great day. H
