Speaker 1 (00:07):
And these morning ares with Jesus Whimercy falls like Wray
you live the way m Good morning. Thank you for
joining us today on our podcast. As we get ready
for our morning Moments with Jesus Devotion time, I just
pray you settle in get ready to get into the
(00:29):
presence of the Lord. As today the Lord is talking
to us about his provisions and the fact that God
always provides. Philippians chapter four, verse of nineteen. Lets us
know that by saying, but my God shall supply all
your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
(00:50):
You probably heard that phrase throughout your life. The Lord
will provide, and it often is said in moments of
uncertainty instead of confidence. Maybe when the bills are piling up,
when the job offer that you've been waiting on hadn't
come through yet, maybe the path of the head looks
unstable and unclear, and you murmur or say, oh, the
(01:13):
Lord will provide. But what does it truly mean when
we say God will provide? And how can we trust
in that promise when the evidence around us seems contrary
to that promise? Well Philippians four nineteen is you know
it's one of the most comforting verses in scripture when
he tells us that he shall supply all your need.
(01:36):
This was written by the apostle Paul. You probably know
while he was in prison. It was a place where
provisions were limited, to say the least, comfort was very few,
and the future didn't look very bright for Paul. Yet
Paul spoke with bold confidence, not in his current circumstance,
but he had confidence in God's promise. And that's what
(01:58):
the Lord wants us to really know today and take
comfort in, no matter what the circumstances look like. Take
comfort in the promise. He wasn't relying on the Roman officials,
wasn't even relying on the generous believers that were giving
and supporting him at that time. His trust was anchored
in one thing, and that was the unshakable truth that
(02:21):
God always provides. But here's the thing about God's provisions.
They are not always what we expect, and it doesn't
always come when we think it should, when we could
all give witness to that. Sometimes we want immediate rescue,
but God gives us enduring strength instead. Sometimes we ask
(02:43):
for more money, and He teaches us to be content
with what we have. Sometimes we beg for the door
to be opened, but he lovingly holds it shut. Why
protecting us from what we can't see on the other
side of that door. That's provisions. Provisions is so much
more than just material things. When we think about God's provision,
(03:05):
our minds often jump to money, food, clothing, and shelter,
and yeah, those are all provisions by the Lord, and
he absolutely cares about those things as a matter of fact.
In Matthew Chapter six, and I believe it's in verse
thirty one and thirty two, the Bible says, therefore, take
no thought saying what you shall eat, what you shall drink,
(03:26):
wherewithal shall you be clothed? For your heavenly Father knows
that you have need of all these things. But God's
provisions isn't limited to the material world, because he also
provides peace that passes all understanding when your heart is heavy.
He provides wisdom when you're faced with unimpossible decisions that
(03:48):
you got to make, maybe even today. He provides grace
when you've made mistakes, and he provides mercy when you've
run out of strength. Most of all, he provides the savior,
Jesus Christ, who gave his life so that we might
have everlasting life. Those are provisions. Provisions are are based
(04:11):
on God's riches, not our worthiness. Because see, God is
a giver. He doesn't give us leftovers, and he doesn't
give us spare change. He gives from the abundance of
his storehouse in heaven, full of grace, full of love,
full of abundance, just waiting for you. And that means
(04:32):
no matter how deep the need is, He's able to
meet it. We need to understand also that God's provisions
comes in his timing, not ours. So maybe this is
the hardest part for us to accept. Sometimes we want
instant answers, we want miracles to come on our schedule,
but God operates on a timeline that stretches far beyond
(04:54):
time itself. We need to understand that today Abraham learned
that when God provided a round in the thicket just
in time. Elijah experienced the same thing when Ravens brought
food during a drought. And what about the widow as
she watched her oil and flour never run out? And
(05:14):
what about you? You've probably had those types of moments
in your life as well, times you weren't sure how
things were going to work. Out, But then all of
a sudden, God stepped in. Maybe not early, but he
sure wasn't late. See. God sees the full picture, and
he knows what we need, but he also knows when
we need it. His answer is never rushed. He's never
(05:39):
rushed any but he's never delayed either. His timing is
perfect and I want you to be comforted with that today,
even if it tests your patience and your trust. He's
right on time every time. Sometimes God provides through a
job opportunity, maybe a kind friend, a generous church family,
(06:01):
maybe even a stranger. But he's going to provide. But
never forget that the source of those provisions are not them.
It's always God, Because James says, every good and perfect
gift comes down from the Father of Lights. So don't
place your hope in a paycheck, a person, or a program.
(06:24):
Be thankful for those blessings, but don't put your trust
in them. Keep your eyes on the provider. To live
in the Promise of Philippians four nineteen is to live
in peace even when life is uncertain. It's trusting that
God knows your needs before you even speak them. It's
to believe that He sees the whole road ahead of you,
(06:47):
not just to curve you're in right now. He's already
lined up every provision you're gonna need to fulfill your journey.
So if you're in a season of needful provisions right now, now,
hold fast to this one truth. God always provides. May
not come in the package you expect, may not arrive
(07:10):
when you hope it would, but it'll always be enough.
Why because He's enough and his word stands firm that
My God shall supply all your need according to His
riches in Glory by Christ Jesus. That's not just a
hopeful saying today, that's a promise you can count on.
(07:32):
So you be safe, you be strong, and you be blessed,
and you be ready because the provisions are already waiting
for you today. Lord, we will see you back here
again tomorrow, and until then, as always, I sure hope
you have a great and wonderful day.
