Speaker 1 (00:07):
And these morning more last with Jesus whimmers he falls
liray you live the way our jemy.
Speaker 2 (00:20):
Good morning as you rise today, I pray that this
day finds you blest, rested, and ready to go. I've
been looking at the Word of God in a couple
of different places today, and finally it ended up taking
me to Paul's writing to the Corinthians, particularly in First Corinthians,
chapter one, and I begin to think about how God
just amazes the world by taking what is very ordinary
(00:44):
in our eyes and doing some extraordinary things with it.
The word extraordinary basically two words put together extraordinary, and
in order to become extraordinary, everything begins ordinary. And so
when God takes ordinary people ordinary things and does some
(01:04):
of the most extraordinary things with them. And so the
question kind of came to me this morning to ask,
through the power of the Holy Spirit, have you ever
felt like you're just another face in the crowd, Like
you're not quite special enough to make a difference in
the world, Like other people seem to be making these
huge differences in the world and they seem to be
so extraordinary. If so, you're not alone. Many people struggle
(01:29):
with feelings of being inadequate. But the beautiful message that
is found here in First Corinthians that I found this
morning is found in verse twenty six through twenty nine,
and it reminds us that God has a unique purpose
for each and every one of us, especially those who
consider themselves very ordinary. In this passage, the apostle Paul
(01:49):
writes this, for you see your calling, brethren, how not
many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not
many noble or But God has chosen the foolish things
of the world to confound the wise. And God has
chosen the weak things of the world to confound the
(02:10):
things which are mighty, the base things of the world,
and the things which are despised. That has God chosen, Yes,
the things which are not to bring the knot things
that are that no flesh should glory in his presence
to here. Paul's words brings to light a real, powerful
(02:31):
truth that I want to share with you this morning.
God delights in using the ordinary to achieve the extraordinary.
That does not mean that He never caused the powerful
or the highly educated to do great things for him.
This passage relates more to how we see ourselves rather
than what we possess. He is always looking for the humble.
(02:56):
That is why he chooses everyday people, the ones who
might feel overlooked, the ones who might feel underestimated. Imagine
the joy in that. It means that you don't have
to be a superstar to make a difference. You just
have to be you. See, the world tries to mold
people into this glamorous image and make that the signature
(03:19):
of success. But God never wanted us to go through
such great lengths to make ourselves like other people. Just
be you today. That is what God's looking for. He's
not looking for you to become somebody else. He's looking
for you to become extraordinary, just the way you are.
Let's consider this morning the countless stories throughout scripture where
(03:43):
God chooses the least likely candidates for his purpose, from
the shepherds at the birth of Jesus to spread the
word and become the first missionaries, shut young shepherds like David,
fisherman like Peter, and even the writer of First Corinthians
here in the Apostle Paul. These individuals were not defined
(04:03):
by their status or wisdom, but by their willingness to
respond to God's call. This is a reminder to us
this morning that our value is not rooted in our
achievements or our accolades. It's in our identity as children
of God. So when you embrace your ordinary today, the
(04:26):
fact that you may just be ordinary, then you open
yourself up to a life filled with purpose and fill
with joy and the beauty of living in this truth
is that it frees us from the burden of perfection
or comparison with other people. We can celebrate our unique
gifts and talents just the way we are, no matter
(04:48):
how small they may seem to us, they are mighty
to the Lord. So the next time you find yourself
feeling like you're just an ordinary person and a bustling
world world, remember this God has chosen you for a purpose.
He's ready to use your neat unique story, your unique talents,
(05:10):
and even your struggles to shine His light in ways
that may never you may never expect. Today, you be safe,
you be strong, and you be blessed, and you be
yourself perfectly ordinary, and watch God do the extraordinary in
(05:31):
your life. Lords, WI will see you back here again
tomorrow noneuntil then, as always, that's your hope. You have
a great day.
