do you like to think you wouldwin in a fight between Batman and the
mass Starships? Comics, case, movies, music, can TV. They're
gonna tell you wheverything you need.Superheroes are nothing, Catch sharp back.
(00:21):
They're gonna save the world, domcakes, comics, ks, movies, music,
can TV. They're gonna tell youwhether thing you need. Superheroes are
(00:43):
nothing, Catch sharp back. They'regonna say the world swear can't cake?
Swear can cake? Well, Hello, Hello, Hello, We are back
and it is another review episode. As you can see obviously, if we
(01:07):
didn't have a regular show on theMonday, as we sort of initially planned
to have, but Birdman and Iwere talking with American Thanksgiving going on,
there wasn't a whole heck of alot of regular news that we figured we'd
cover, even weird news as someof the few stories that were here and
there and everywhere everybody was already sortof talking about and we didn't really have
(01:27):
anything new to spin on that aswell, as we had a gathering get
together he and I. It hadbeen like over a month or so since
we hung out and we sort ofwere catching up and doing some programming updates
and figuring out things to do.We watched The New Doctor Who's Special as
well as sort of sat and plannedout what our finalized sort of scheduling is
(01:51):
going to be for the rest ofthe show until the end of the year.
Basically, it's a very busy weekafter this week, going into the
second week of December, and thenonce that happens, we're basically shut down
save for pre recording some stuff thatwe're going to be doing, probably five
or six extra episodes of either thePrototype Loose Cannon or Future Imperfect that we
(02:15):
can release over the holiday break intoJanuary and into maybe even early February when
we're back in full swing at somepoint at some point maybe mid to late
January, early February, and wewere talking aboutould we get a review show
out the same week that we geta regular show or should we just make
one longer review show. That's probablyyou know what made more sense to us
(02:38):
at the time, and I'm like, Okay, yeah, it's time to
come out. It's actually a daylater than we expected, but that was
because we had crazy blizzard snow squallsand stuff. I actually had power flickering
in my place to the point whereit wasn't really stable enough to record because
it was just like crazy fifty youknow, mile per hour almost und mile
(03:00):
hour winds and blowing snow to thepoint where we had to close all the
windows because even keeping them open acrack, even though it wasn't really that
cold, was enough to like blowsnow inside. It was terrifying. So
yeah, it just made sense topush everything back a day. So here
we are, it's going to bepretty loaded, So I'm not going to
waste too much time with this, but I will have a couple of reviews
(03:23):
in here, maybe two or three, depending on embargo dates and whatnot.
Birdman is going to have a heckof a bunch of them in here.
Actually, he's been pretty much areview machine the last week or so,
and it's just a matter of figuringout where we slot these things because we
have stuff that we want to talkabout before our holiday gift guide, which
(03:45):
is next week, well not duringthe week, it'll be about ten days
or so away from from where weare here, maybe twelve days, and
we wanted to make sure we'd havea bunch of stuff covered and for consideration
for that. Now, beyond regulargames and stuff, we do a lot
of times have different products this timeof year, either smart home apps or
(04:06):
smart smart home devices, high techkitchen gadgets, things that we can put
in the gift guide. So Birdmanhas another product from Ninja in here.
We're going to have a video doorbellreview from him. We're going to have
the RoboCop Rogue City video game reviewfrom him, as well as Rosemary's Baby
(04:29):
on four K. We've got acouple of reviews from Canon here and then
a few from myself, So we'regoing to sort of go through them pretty
rapid fire, and then I'll comeback at the end close it out,
because we wanted to make sure wehad something come out this week before we
roll into the weekend where everything getsreal busy for us. I hope everybody
had a happy and safe Thanksgiving ifyou were somebody celebrating in the States and
(04:51):
didn't go crazy fighting somebody for atoaster or something at Walmart or Target.
But yeah, we're gonna take justa quick break. We'll put a little
interlude in here and head into thereviews and I'll come back at the end.
Hey, guys, this is Mikethe Birdman here here to talk about
something really cool we got from ourfriends over at TAPO. I'm gonna be
talking about the D two three zeroS one video doorbell. Now. I
(05:15):
actually did review a set of camerasfrom these guys earlier this year, and
they've honestly been a fantastic addition tohome security and just one of those things
I'm really glad that I have aroundthe house, you know, to make
sure that the cats are okay andjust to make sure we have no creepy
people lurking around the building. Sovideo doorbells are one of those things we've
seen with like the Amazon ring doorbelland whatnot, and with porch pirates and
(05:41):
packets that's being a pretty big deal. In the last couple of years.
I decided I wanted something because let'ssay it's you know, I've had more
than a few packages grow legs andwalk away from my particular building. So
when I got offered to review this, I gotta say, yo, let's
check this out. And I amhonestly very surprised at how easily this integrates
(06:04):
with the original system. In fact, I have this thing up and going
with my existing camera network within aboutfive minutes. All you really have to
do is go into the softer,go to add door bell, find the
particular model you have, make surethat it's flashing. It'll connect to your
network literally in like under five minutes, and as long as you got this
(06:27):
thing mounted to the right place,it works fantastic. You can also set
the different sensitivity so it can detectpeople motion. There's even an option where
it can detect pets and vehicles, and you can play with all the sensitivity
settings and how it sends you notifications. I have the Tapo app on my
iPhone and my iPad and it isa pretty neat way for me to keep
(06:49):
monitoring when stuff like that happens. And I'm surprised at how many delivery drivers
actually are smart enough to know topress the button, and they're are built
in voice commands that you can hitwith one tap. Stand Hi, I'm
not here right now, Please leavethe package by the door. Sorry,
I'm not interested. Or if youreally need to pull the panic button,
(07:10):
you could pull you are trespassing.Police have been called. But you can
also create custom video message or voicemessages rather as well. I am tremendously
surprised by how easily this was setup, how useful it's been. The
battery life is fairly fantastic, althoughbecause I live in a particularly busy part
(07:31):
of my building, it is goingoff constantly. But you can change the
notification settings and sensitivity settings there. But I do find battery life to be
tremendously good. Now that being said, one thing to note is not everybody
is going to be comfortable having avideo doorbell there. In fact, I
have noticed some people just they lookat it and they're a little kind of
(07:55):
cock eyed about it, and otherpeople will actively wave at it like they're
trying to set it off. AndI can understand privacy concerns, especially in
twenty twenty three. It is whatit is. But I do sleep a
little bit safer knowing that I knowwho's coming to my door when stuff comes
to my door, and this issomething that I hadn't really thought about up
(08:16):
until recently. I see this asactually a really nice piece of accessibility.
You might be saying, Mike, what do you mean, Well, you
have the option to use this asa two way communications device. So,
for example, because I am anamputee, if I fell and I happen
to have my phone, I couldcall for help using for this as someone
(08:37):
happens to be passing by, andyou have someone potentially come in and give
me a hand that way. Sothat's maybe a unintended use for this thing.
But ultimately this Tapo video doorbell systemI really like it. It's really
easy to set up. It doescome with its own hub, but it
easily integrates with existing systems, andyou can monitor this thing from anywhere.
(09:03):
I do recommend getting a fairly sizablemicro SD video card though, so you
can keep recordings. It can recordsound if you want it to, or
if you just wanted to record playingvideo, it can do that. It
can take pictures. The video qualityis really fantastic and super clear. So
really, if you're in the marketfor a different type of video doorbell,
(09:26):
then I think you really don't haveto go much further than this. This
thing is fairly easy to find onAmazon, so again, this is the
tap Out video doorbell camera kit.Totally check this out, and I think
you'll be pleasantly surprised by just howuseful this device can be for your home
this holiday season. Hey guys, getting reals here in Welcome to my review
(10:01):
for Katan Console Edition for the NintendoSwitch. Thank you to the folks at
Dovetail Games and Nomad Games for sendingme a code. And yeah, this
is based on the board game fromAsthmadia Entertainment. I personally know the board
(10:22):
game very well and it's one ofour go tos when we have family gatherings
with my cousins. This played onNintendo Switch, however, it is also
available on Xbox and PlayStation consoles aswell, and it is a game of
building and gathering resources faster than youropponents on a hexagonal grid. Each turn,
(10:43):
your roll to standard D six sexcited dies and that results in gathering
resources based on respective settlement placements onthe board. You buy, you trade,
you exchange those resources to build settlements, roads, and development cards.
The development cards can range from givingyou victory points which you need to get
(11:07):
ten to in order to win thegame, or bonus resources or even soldiers
which will assist you in moving therobber. The robber is a placement that
moves and blocks other players from gainingresources on the space it occupies, and
when moved, allows that player tosteal resources from opponents. Whose settlements are
(11:30):
on or attached to that respective hex. And yeah, this is one of
the fun games. I actually genuinelyenjoy playing this game a lot, and
overall it's a fun game. However, this game on the switch runs sort
(11:52):
of let me explain. It seemsto chug fram rate wise during any bit
of computation. Each square has alot of just useless graphics that clearly are
taxing the switch, and even thenthose graphics would look bad during the three
(12:15):
to sixty area much less. Today. I had a single crash when I
tried to load the credits, andthe credits crash the game. I don't
see crashes on the switch often. The most I've seen crashing on switch is
when I've played the Pokemon games, and those Pokemon games run like terribly.
(12:45):
That's saying something. This game runsbadly. It has an extremely long opening
animation just to get to the titlescreen, so much so that they actually
have a skip prompt in the titlesequence to skip it. And it's also
a hold, so it's not likeyou can just press a button and it
(13:07):
skips. You have to hold thebutton in order to skip the opening sequence.
And the AI honestly is probably thebest part of this game. They
aren't brain dead. However, itdoes take long stretches for them to computate
their moves. A full standard gamewith three AI opponents took me about an
(13:31):
hour and have to play through, and that's not bad. However, the
button layout is full of multiple pressesand holds, and it is very hard
to keep track of what does what. I had many instances during multiple plays
(13:52):
where I was going what button doeswhat and had to press multiple things to
figure out, Oh, right,it's this. There is a button guide
that's always on at the bottom ofthe screen. However, there's too many
prompts, so they cycle in afade out, fade in fashion at the
(14:13):
bottom and it's too fast to reallyread every single prompt to remind you,
so you have to wait multiple times, and frankly I don't like dealing with
that. However, the Switch versiondoes have four player local support. There
are no private lobbies for the onlinefunctionality, so it is only against random
(14:37):
players. It is cross play acrossall platforms, which is good, but
without private lobbies, you can't reallyplay with your friends and that sucks.
The Switch does not also have accessto specific DLC including the special seasonal content
packs that come that are out onPlayStation and Xbox consoles. They will get
(15:05):
the full on expansions, which currentlyonly include the Helper's Expansion, and a
bonus Championship Maps pack that gives youthe maps that were used for the World
Championship, as well as a fewother cosmetics. So would I recommend this
game on the Nintendo Switch. Notreally, but it's better than the mobile
(15:30):
ports that were previously delisted, whichsadly isn't saying much. Down the line,
when there are sales and there aremore expansions that are available, I
might recommend checking this one out.As it is currently, No, don't
buy this. This is a wasteof your money, especially given the price
(15:50):
tag of it's twenty US just forthe base. With the expansions, it's
another ten it at least the expansionsthat it is available with the Switch.
It's not worth it. It's notworth it right now. Maybe when there's
(16:11):
a sale down the line, Butoverall, this was kind of a disappointment,
especially given the fact that they weredelisting the mobile ports and saying,
hey, we're going to build thesenew versions from the ground up for the
consoles. So it's not terrible, and to be fair, it's less terrible,
(16:37):
but still terrible. However, Ido appreciate the folks at Dovetail Games
and Nomad Games for sending me acode basically use the geeks bring me alone
decoy. Holy shit, a badass. Our friends at Kensington sent over a
(17:17):
couple of interesting computer accessories that youmight want to check out if you're into
expanding the ports and connectivity of yourcomputer's laptops and chromebooks. I'm gonna I
was gonna maybe do two separate reviews, but as we're getting close to the
holiday gift guide, I thought, hey, there's a couple of these at
different price points that I might wantto talk about. And they're going to
(17:42):
do some things the same. There'sgoing to be a little bit of overlap,
but some are going to be distinctlydifferent. And the two i'm talking
about here actually in the past youprobably heard me talk about the Thunderbolt dock
that they they released. That'll bein our gift guide as well. For
the upper end of you know gifts, if you're looking to you you know,
get something for let's say, likea workstation or or something. If
(18:03):
if you're you know, a poweruser. Uh, And now what we've
got is sort of the I guessmiddle tier or mid range of of what
you might want from a docking station. And then I'll have another one to
talk about at the end of this. So the first thing up here is
the SD four eight four zero Pand what it is is it's a USB
(18:23):
C ten gigabit per second triple videodriverlest docking station. It is a docking
station sess you know, used tocall them port repulate replicators, but it's,
you know, now the docking stationswith eighty five watts of power delivery
DisplayPort HDMI. It says that, you know, officially Windows support connects seamlessly
(18:48):
to any laptop using Windows seven andabove, which means that obviously your mileage
may vary if you're using it withLinux, but generally there's drivers and that
if you're a power user, youcan get away with it. Now,
what's interesting is it has two DisplayPortone point four ports and one two point
zero B port. Now, italso supports it's dynamic. It depends on
(19:11):
how many things you've got plugged in, but essentially it can support single four
K thirty hertz display dual tenity Psixty hertz or three TENITYP thirty hertz when
connected to DisplayPort one point two deviceand with the maximum resolution of a single
(19:32):
five K display at sixty hertz, dual four K at sixty and three four
K at thirty if you connect usinga display port one point four device.
Now for the eighty five what powerdelivery? What that means is you can
quick charge any Thunderbolt three, Thunderboltfour, or USBC enabled laptop. Now,
(19:52):
enabled laptop must support power delivery, which pretty much most modern ones do.
You can check basically if your laptop'spower is like if you charge your
laptop with a USBC and you seethat it's likely power delivery, you'll want
to double check in your manual orit'll have that PD label with a lightning
bolt next to it on the connectoritself. And what that means is if
(20:15):
your laptop takes anywhere up to eightyfive watts of power to charge and use
at the same time, you canuse this as as a passed through to
that plus replicating all the ports thatyou need. There is a what they
call it nine to one design, which is it has one USB three point
two Gen two port, which meansten gigabit port speed, five volts,
(20:38):
one and a half amps of chargingcapability and power capability through that one USB
a so traditional USBA three point twoGen two port with the exact same charging
capacity for it at ten gigabits persecond. A combo audio port which means
that it has microphone and they headphonejack built in, so basically, if
(21:00):
you have a headset you want toplug and it uses the three pole I
think it's the three pole prong TRRSconnector, it'll work. I don't know
the back of it. There aretwo USBAG and two ports also ten gigabit.
There is a gigabit Ethernet port, two display port, one point four
ports, and a HDMI two pointzero B port. You can either mount
(21:23):
it vertically or horizontally. It's gota three year warranty on it. It
is basically everything you would want ina proper desktop solution. If you're somebody
who primarily uses laptops for everything andyou want to have something that clears up
(21:44):
the clutter. You don't need tohave a lot of other cables and things
running around, and you want somethingjust to have one connector to your computer
to your laptop, especially for likethe very thin laptops, you can just
sort of sit this behind or nearyour monitor and plug it all in and
just have one little docking station forit, which its profile is pretty small.
(22:04):
It's not much bigger than one ofthose charging bricks that you get that
has like, you know, tenthousand million battery that you see the batteries
always all time on like Amazon orat Walmart or best Buy. So it's
actually got a pretty small footprint ona desk, which is good because the
old docking station port replicators back inthe day where these monstrosity huge things.
(22:26):
Also to note, if you've gota modern mini PC, one of those
you know, little mini piecs thatare like the size of the Intel Nook,
they're getting more and more powerful, and some of them already have Thunderbolt
built into them too, or USBCobviously because it's a combo port on this,
this is a way of giving youa whole bunch of extra ports that
(22:47):
you might not have access to ormight have limited access to on one of
those mini pieces. So you mighthave one of those mini pieces maybe mounted
on a this amount in the backof a monitor, and then you just
have you know, a single cablerunning out from that from that computer could
run into this on your desk, and then you have all the space imports
that you need to plug into onyour desk there plug your headphones in without
(23:07):
having to reach out behind the computerand everything. So there's a lot of
use cases for this. Great forstudents and so on. It's something that
is, you know, in it'snot the most expensive thing out there,
but it is also not obviously thecheapest. The Thunderbolt high end one was
going to be obviously more expensive, but for this, it's got an MSRP
(23:32):
of two seventy nine. You're gonnafind it cheaper. It's just how it
is, you know how computer techis. So if you can get it
any if you get it under MSRP, you're getting a good deal, because
even at MSRP, it's a prettygood deal overall for it. The other
device I wanted to talk about hereis sort of like an entry level thing
if you just need something completely portablefor the go. They have the G
(23:53):
one thousand P, which is aUSBC Mini DOC. It's a single four
K video with eighty five watt powerpassers, so it still has that eighty
five watts of power passed through ifyou have power delivery. What that means
is if you plug this into thecharging port of your you can plug this
(24:15):
into the charging port of your computerif your laptop. If your laptop is
powered by USBC, then you plugthe laptop's power supply whatever the brick is
up to eighty five watts into theother USB port on this and it will
pass that through while giving you theport replication. So that in itself is
(24:37):
pretty good because what it does isit ends up taking that one cable and
it passes through the power. Itgives you a couple of USB ports on
here. It also will then giveyou four K sixty on a DisplayPort capable
device uses HDMI. Basically HTMI isthe connector, but the standard it's using
(25:03):
his DisplayPort for the connector of thevideo output on it is HDMI one point
four. So everything you need todo to get up and running on a
monitor or give you a second monitor, even because some Chromebooks don't have video
out directly on the device to savemoney, they've reduced it by not putting
a HDMI port or even a DisplayPorton it. And what this will do
(25:25):
is this will let you take alower end laptop or even a higher end
one, but specifically stuff like Chromebooks. Plug it in have a plug and
play solution, but then gives youan extra USB port or two, plus
your power pass through, plus avideo output port that you could easily unplug
and throw into your backpack or yourbag and go. It has an MSRP
(25:45):
significantly lower because it just has simplercapabilities, but it is something that you
might want to consider if you've gota lower end laptop or chromebook. It's
got an MSRP of ninety dollars ifyou want to save on having to like
(26:07):
these are features that maybe we're outof the class of the laptop you were
buying initially, or you just wantto have something that is a little portable
you can take with you and putinto any bag. It's so light.
It does have USB C through itwith five gigahertz connection speeds for data transfers.
It does support one single four Kmonitor at sixty hertz, which is
(26:30):
good enough, and it also hasa bit Ethernet port on it. So
if you're somebody who had a laptopthat only had wireless and didn't have an
Ethernet port and you want to connectinto a wire connection, and it's pretty
much a no brainer. There areother mini doc replicators like this that you
see advertise on Amazon from Chinese companies, a lot of times cheaper than this,
(26:53):
but a lot of times they're justreally low build quality. This is
pretty solid. It's as good asany first party adapter I've seen out there
come out from like Apple or ifDeal or somebody is offering their own.
It's as good as that, ifnot slightly better, because the build quality
on it just feels a little morepremium, and you know it's not going
to have any issues with doing thepower pass through or give you an any
(27:17):
issues whatsoever when it comes to fullspeed connectivity. So those are two different
devices that might be something you'd wantto put. They're not stocking stuffers,
obviously, as they're in the rangeof between one hundred and three hundred dollars
depending on which one you get andif it's on sale or not. But
they're kind of essential items for peoplethat are maybe already getting a new laptop
(27:38):
or a little mini computer, orhave been looking to expand upon them not
necessarily have to invest in a lotof money to replace them, because we
know how expensive computers have cotton lately. Or if you just need something for
like a dorm room, or youneed something for just the you know,
the little extra closet office that youput together, or if you're not somebody
who necessarily has a permanent setup withlike a desktop PC workstation, which you've
(28:03):
got a decent or entry level laptopeven that just needs to get connected to
a monitor and have a bunch ofUSB port it's ready to go. Either
of these is going to suit youfine. One is more for a permanent
solution as far as keeping it morestationary or in an office space, taking
between maybe just your office and home, and the other, with the smaller
footprint, is perfect for just keepingwithin your laptop bag or backpack. Hey
(28:26):
guys, this is Mike the Birdmanhere. I got something really special to
share from our friends over at Ninja. They send something over for our holiday
gift guide. We're gonna be talkingabout the Ninja Blast. This is a
sixteen ounce portable blender with a leakproof lid and an easy sip spout.
And this thing does come in severaldifferent colors. So what this thing is?
This is a cordless, handheld blenderthat you can drink out of directly.
(28:48):
And because it's that time of year, you're going to holiday parties,
office parties, hey, that timeof year, and you're coming home from
college, this is a great thingto have around. Whether you want to
be making margarita's or if you're morehealth conscious like me and Blair, you're
doing smoothies and protein shakes. Havingthis thing around certainly makes your life a
little bit easy. And this isa really cool thing to have if you're
(29:10):
on a health journey because well, like us, like I said, we've
been on this super big health kickand protein is a very big part of
our day. So having this portableblender with us that charges via USBC means
it's a lot easier to get alot of our protein in because it mixes
things up so well, you don'tget that weird granular taste that sometimes if
(29:32):
you mix up a protein shake andyou literally just shake it, sometimes it's
just not as good as you wouldwant it to be. Plus, the
fact that this thing is so portablemeans, again you bring this thing to
an office, you only have torun it for like thirty seconds or so,
and it's super quiet. That's honestlywhat surprised me about this, because
(29:52):
you would think something like a blenderwould be tremendously loud. Blair has used
this with me sleeping in the sameroom, and nine times out of ten
it actually doesn't wake me up,which is kind of nice. Now,
you do have to charge this thingfor a little bit the first time.
It says about two hours or so. The first time you use it.
Out of that, it does chargepretty quick. It is pretty powerful.
(30:15):
Now. Something to note is,and we actually made this mistake the first
time, so please read the instructions. There is no bottom of the actual
drinkable container. You might be saying, well, what do you mean,
don't detach the power base when there'sa liquid in this, or you're gonna
have yourselves a delightful mess on yourhands. So that's when you probably want
(30:36):
to either transfer this to a differentcontainer or drink right out of the whole
thing. So, yes, youdo have a blender attached to your drinking
vessel, but hey, just meansyou can do it up even more if
that's what you want to do.Now, you can also pair this with
a ninja creamy, which you canuse it to blend up your own creation
and make your own homemade protein icecream that we talked about last time on
(30:57):
the show. Was gonna say,but Blair has somehow managed to make a
Wendy's frosty at home that I dareanybody out there to take the Pepsi challenge,
because I'm pretty sure you won't beable to tell. Honestly, this
is such a really cool device. The Ninja Blast Portable Blender is one of
the coolest things that I've actually hada chance to use. And it's kind
(31:18):
of nice to have that option tohave a well blended protein drink on the
go and I can charge it viamy USBC Power Bank. So how's that
for convenience? Once again, checkthat out. That is the Ninja Blast
Portable Blender, and big thanks inNinja for sending one of these over.
This is a fair question, andI promise I will not judge any person
only as a teenager, and thatthis is no more right than saying all
(31:44):
teenagers are drunken, dope addicts orblue sniffers. Hey guys, this is
(32:15):
Mike the Birdman here. I'm hereto talk about something we got for review
from our friends over at Paramount HomeEntertainment. I'm gonna be talking about the
four K ultra HD version of roseMary's Baby. This movie came out during
the nineteen sixties and basically set upa lot of modern horror. And this
is a story you've probably seen beforewhere basically you're gonna give birth to the
(32:36):
anti christ witches and you know,Christianity's bad. It's a dark film directed
by someone who, without getting toofar into it, is very problematic if
you want to get into it.There are tons of resources on it.
We're gonna leave it at that. That being said, this is considered to
be one of the most historically significanthorror movies in modern memory, and I
(33:00):
can't say that I disagree with it. However, though my time with this
movie I did not enjoy it,I found parts of the movie actually to
be quite quite good. Like Ireally enjoy Mia Farroh. I think this
is probably one of the few moviesI've actually seen with her in it,
and I gotta say she's fantastic init. I mean, from that alone,
(33:21):
it's great. Her husband, playedby John Cassavetti's I'm pretty sure that's
how you pronounce his name Guy Woodhouse. He's an evil douchebag. There's no
other way to really kind of setit up. And other parts of the
movie. You've probably seen these tropesbefore in like other different horror television shows,
other horror movies, stuff that youknow, if you're around our age,
(33:44):
you've definitely seen a thousand times before. But it pretty much started here.
And my time with this movie,it was dark, like I didn't
enjoy this. I would almost callthis gaslighting the movie. And at one
point there's a of sexual assault Ireally don't want to get into, but
I didn't like it. This isone of those movies where I think it's
(34:06):
a one and done sort of thing, and it set the world on fire
when this came out during the nineteensixties. It turns out this is based
upon a novel and there was asequel follow up in the nineteen nineties which
attempts to continue the story of Rosemary'sBaby, and that is kind of stupid
from what I read online, Butthat's neither here nor there now. Talk
(34:27):
about the disc itself, the movielooks fantastic. It was filmed in technicolor
during the nineteen sixties, and it'sa great book and transfer. I really
don't have any major complaints. Thesound is amazing on it, although looking
at some of the behind the scenesstuff that is on the second disc here,
it looks appropriate to the time.Although it's not like a modern special
(34:51):
feature. You do get three specialfeatures. You get Rosemary's Baby, a
retrospective Mia and Roman, and thenyou get two theatrical trailers, which I
kind of just consider those whatever. They're very weirdly disjointed. It almost seems
like an old press package from thetime. It's got some interesting info in
(35:14):
there, but again I just reallywasn't into it, and I gotta say,
Rosemary's Baby, if this is yourjam, sure is in a movie.
I recommend people watch once to understandwhy it's historically important. Yes,
but you're not gonna have a goodtime. This is one of those things
(35:35):
where you're really gonna have to kindof know what you're getting into it,
and it does deal with some veryheavy themes like sexual assault, Christianity,
the anti Christ at one point, and it's just dark and depressing. So
unfortunately, I can't recommend this asa movie. While I do recognize its
(35:57):
historical significance, it's just not forme, and I really wish I had
something better to say about it,but I really don't. So that is
Rosemary's Baby from Paramount Home Entertainment onfour k ultra HD. What have you
done to it? What have youdone to its eyes? He has his
father's eyes. What are you talkingabout? Guys? Eyes are normal?
(36:20):
What have you done? Daim yourmania? Satan missus? Father? That
guy he came up from hell andbeget a son of mortal woman pale father.
(36:46):
Hey guys, Kenriel's here and welcometo my review for Reason Year.
Thank you for the folks over atExceed and Marvelous Europe, as well as
the folks over at battle Brew Productionfor sending me a code for Steam.
Now. This is a game thatis only available on Steam as of right
(37:07):
now, but they are planning aconsole release sometime next year. And I
will tell you this is gonna beone of those games that is gonna be
on your radar. If you arejust a console player, keep this on
your radar, because there's this isthis is one of the good ones.
(37:28):
The dev team is battle Group Productions. They are based in Singapore. They're
a ten person team. Twelve peoplework on this game, I believe according
to the website, but there's tenfull time employees at the studio and they're
mostly a mobile dev team, andthis is their first huge, like actual
(37:51):
non mobile game on the under theirbelt, and for the most part,
it's really good. This was oneof the big highlights for me during the
summer games Fest E three not Ethree vent going on this last summer,
and I literally the second I sawthis side on scene, knowing it was
(38:15):
marvelous, and I said, hey, Alex, ask for this game because
I'm excited for this. And theysent me a code about a week before
release, which very awesome, verycool, and for the most part,
when I booted it up, evenin the early review process, it was
(38:37):
solid, like I didn't have anymajor issues, no glitches or anything that
occurred during the review the reviews period. And then I took it some time
and step stepped in during the onepoint zero just for you guys to have
(38:58):
a general idea on one point Iknow was going to be like and this
game is one part restaurant sim andit's one part dungeon crawler. Now,
the restaurant portion is full of yourstandard diner dash like mechanics, you make
various foods using multiple methods while alsokeeping track of orders in various customer types
(39:20):
to snag large tips. You investyour earnings back into the restaurant via various
cosmetics, tables, chairs, lightfixtures, et cetera. There's also a
massive amount of debt that your parentsdrop on you as you take over the
restaurant, and that goes across multiplesituations. And within this restaurant sim portion,
(39:44):
you have various townsfolk that you helpby acquiring ingredients or making dishes to
gain new recipes to help strengthen yourrestaurant's variety. With over one hundred recipes
and at the time of my review, i hit the final achievement, which
is for sixty eight recipes. Andthe townsfolk are all cute animal designs.
(40:06):
The main character, Palm, isan absolute adorable design that just pops,
and that's across the rest of thesupporting cast. Each town member has a
different weekly schedule, so you needto be remembering what days and where in
town they are, and that canbe helpful as you play through that portion
of the game. Now, forthe dungeon portion of the game, it
(40:30):
is an isometric rogue light resource gatheringportion, and you gather across four unique
biomes, unique variety of cute enemiesranging from leaf tadpoles, raton chickens,
little flower puffs, wheat warriors, various bore creatures that look like Pokemon actually,
(40:55):
and the gamey takes a lot ofcues from Hades, so if you
enjoy Haites, you're most likely goingto enjoy this portion of the game.
Now. There's also a weapons andgear system. There are a various amount
of different effects and move sets across, like eight different weapon types with six
(41:17):
different effect types, and you havea two weapon load out along with a
boot and glove slot that affects health, each having a resource using upgrade system
along with an effect additory system thatyou get through a brewing system by adding
(41:39):
ingredients or recipes into a brew withan item to gain special effects on them.
And the potion system is a bubbletea system. There are eight different
bubble te's performing various healing and depthamage effects, and they are also upgradeable
(42:00):
ria resources and unlocked by creating variousdishes. The backpack and belt system is
upgradeable via one of the rotating shopsin town. There are two rotating shops
in the town, and those rotateacross the week, so you also need
to keep track of when the certainshops show up during the time of the
(42:23):
week. And your backpack holds yourresources and your belt holds all your bold
ties. As of this recording,I've unlocked all of I've unlocked the full
kit, so maxed out my belt, maxed out my backpack, and honestly,
it's really hard to If you unlockthose in a pretty fair fashion,
(42:46):
you're not going to be running outof space for resources if you play well.
If you play a little more dangerously, you could end up losing all
of your progress, because when youdie, you die and you lose a
huge portion of all the resources you'vegathered, and you wake up back in
(43:08):
your bed and have to go backon the dungeon crawling portion. If you
want to gain back all those resources, you don't. You have to acquire
those resources again. You don't justlike leave them in the dungeon and it's
a dark soul situation where you canjust go pick them up again. No,
(43:30):
that's not the case. You justlose them completely. There are multiple
times during my play where I havelost my resources and you're just like,
ah, damn it, now Igotta go back in story, progression is
based on the debt system that thedebt collection system, So the town has
(43:51):
its Tom Nookie character who keeps pilingup the debt that you have to pay
off, the last debt being overhundreds of thousand, like over almost like
one hundred thousand of the currency, which is insane. And honestly, when
you unlock your first achievement, thefirst achievement that you're probably going to unlock
(44:14):
is you can cook idiot sandwich, and that kind of shows just how tongue
in cheek this game is and howmuch fun the dev's had making this game
and playing with the world and itscharacters overall. Like my I ran through
about twenty hours as of this recording, primarily using a giant fish that would
(44:39):
cause fire damage as bonus effect damage. And that's twenty hours barely scratching the
surface of really what this game hasto offer, and I expect I'm gonna
end up syncing close to one hundredhours by the time I consider my playthrough
done. Again, this game isgoing for twenty five USD, which is
(45:04):
a friggin steal in my opinion, and is available currently on Steam with consoles
coming next year. Once again, thank you to Exceed and Marvelous, as
well as battle Brew Productions for sendingme a cup. Do you have any
(45:32):
hobbies? I collect scores, moldsand fungus all that thought it's crapper type.
(45:54):
A little while ago we reviewed someof the Kensington products that were sent
to us for their back to schoolfall line, and now as we're getting
very close to our holiday gift guide, we're right now in Cyber Monday Deals
week, I wanted to talk aboutone of the products that I've been using
for the last week or so,and I just that I've had a chance
(46:16):
to just really put it through itspaces. There's still more we're probably going
to have on the Gift Guide, and maybe more on the regular show next
week, but the first one Iwanted to talk about was the pro fit
Ergo TB fifty five hundred. Iknow it's a bit of a mouthful for
the naming scheme, but it's atrackball mouse and not just a traditional track
ball mall. I used to usea track ball mouse. Oh twenty years
(46:38):
ago. I had one. Itwas a late nineties, early two thousands,
and I used to use them forfirst person shooters on the computer.
One of the ones that the designis still out there, for those ones
where it's like it's like an elongatedmouse. It's stationary with a big red
ball in the top center of it, and you sort of roll it around
with your with the size of yourindex ring finger and middle finger, and
(47:05):
you know, it's not as intuitivenowadays. I was really good with a
trackball mouse back in the day,I swear to God, to the point
where it was like I was actuallyit was more intuitive than shooters because remember
this is back in the day whentrackball mice were still they weren't optical.
They used the roller balls, andthat they seem to be a little more,
I guess accurate, a little lessprone to issues than what you had
(47:27):
with the old trackball mice. Inthe bottom of the old PS two mice
PS two connector not PS two isin PlayStation two and I actually liked it,
and then of course optical mice andlaser mice came out and I stopped
using it, and it's been probablytwenty years since I had one. But
this was a product that intrigued mebecause it's in a different form factor.
It's in the form factor of aregular ergonomic mouse. Now what's different about
(47:52):
it is where your thumb would go. It's right hand and mouse, but
where your thumb would go is thetrack ball. It still has the scroll
wheel, and it has your leftand right click, plus the forward and
backward macro buttons, and then aDPI button on the top which also doubles
as you hold that down when you'returning it on to either switch between Bluetooth
(48:12):
mode or the two point four giggerUSB mode. And that's interesting. It
has a little thing in the bottom, a little nub that you could take
out and plug into your computer tomake up two point four wireless, or
you hold that button down when youturn it on and it turns into Bluetooth
with the ability to pair two differentdevices. You can switch between them.
And it actually has an icon onthe side of the mouse little led lights
(48:36):
that turn on showing whether it's intwo point four gigahertz mode, Bluetooth one
or Bluetooth two. And interestingly enough, it's also one that has a built
in lithium battery and uses USBC forcharging. Not a ton of mice are
doing that not unless you go intothe much more upper end expensive line of
(48:57):
like gaming mice or like super highin office mice. This is, though,
a much more affordable mouse in thatthe MSRP on it is sixty nine
nine nine Canadian, which you knowyou're gonna find cheaper, especially if you're
looking for online deals. But youknow, at that price point, I've
looked around, You've seen some storiesselling it, you know, about ten
fifteen percent off, maybe even moredepending on if you do really good digging
(49:19):
for it. But what made thisspecial to me is because it's a trackball
mouse, but in that form factor, it takes up a lot less space
than a traditional trackball mouse, andit also can be used on things like
the arm rest of a chair orin a bed. Like I've got a
couple of different setups where I caneasily use it. In the living room,
I have a little computer hooked upto the television where that that is
(49:44):
like my media center, or ifI have to surf the net, or
you know, if I want todo extended sessions on a big sixty five
inch screen, and I have usuallya little tiny mouse that I have a
mouse pad that I put down onthe arm of the larger arm rest of
the chair, and I have towork within the confines of that little space
to move the mouse around. Well, this lets me sit at stationary.
I don't move the mouse at all, and I just use my thumb to
(50:06):
move the mouse pointer. It's notgoing to be as accurate as a traditional
trackball mouse was like. For whatI was saying, I played like first
person shooters and that you're not goingto really be playing gaming with this unless
you want to do like point andclick. As it is, it takes
a little bit of you know,to get used to it. You can't
really just use your whole hand orpalm on it. You use your just
your thumb to move it around. But you're going to trust the DPI based
(50:29):
on that switch on the top ofit. And I found that for basic
browsing moving around it was pretty cool. The only thing that you have to
get used to that's a little differentand strange is scrolling because you use,
you know, your index finger oryour middle finger to scroll up and down,
but your thumb to move the cursor. It means that you are having
to do two separate motions that you'renot really used to. Pretty much anywhere
(50:52):
to like let's say click and thenyou can click and drag while using your
index finger. But like if youwant to scroll while while also holding down
the cursor or moving the cursor whilescrolling, is kind of odd because you're
used to moving your hand up ordown with that and then having to use
(51:13):
a scroll is it's a little it'sa little bit weird, I'll be honest.
But it did allow me to usea mouse in a place where space
is very limited for moving it around. The other good factor for this is
if you're using it in your bedroom, like I again have a computer hooked
up in the bedroom as with myPlayStation, everything onto the TV that's on
the mounted on my wall, andI used to again have to bring out
(51:37):
a little mouse pad and then bringout a small mouse, put it on
the bed next to me and thenhope that I got good enough traction and
it would work on the screen. With having a trackball mouse like this,
it means you can place the mouseon any surface. Things that aren't like
firm or plane or even like abed. Would could be problematic because if
(51:57):
you put the mouse down next toyou and if let's say you move funny,
the mouse might slide in a differentdirection on the bed and move your
cursor across the screen. You don'twant it to do that. With a
trackball mouse like this, you canplace it anywhere. You can place it
on a pillow, you can placeit uneven cover, and then it's just
a matter of using your thumb toroll the mouse around anywhere you need to.
So that's actually very useful in thesecases. What's interesting too is that
(52:22):
it's got a pretty long rechargeable battery. It's made of fifty one percent recycled
materials. The actual mouse itself andall the packaging for it was completely made
out of like cardboard and paper thathave been recycled. It also came with
instructions on how to replace the batteryuser replaceable battery, which is another thing
(52:44):
I noticed on the other products thatthey had talked about and shown earlier in
the year. So it meets allthe European standards, and also it's forward
thinking here in that it's completely userserviceable and also to clean the because it's
an optical trackball mouse, there's norollers to get nearly as gunky and dirty,
but if you need to clean iton the bottom of the mouse you
(53:06):
lift to flip it over. There'sa button you press and you push in
with your finger, and it's actuallyan ejection module that pops the rollerball out
so that you can easily clean ifyou get crumbs or or you know,
dust and debris or even just theoiliness of your fingers get on the roller,
you can take the ball out,you know, watch that under a
(53:27):
sink or something with soap and water, and then you could you know,
wipe down and use an air dustor whatever on the optical sensors for the
track ball itself. Very good, very lightweight, feels good quality. It's
actually a solid mouse. So ifyou're looking for something that you know you
have limited space to use, especiallyif you've got like a dorm room or
something, if you're not playing likea lot of gaming and you just need
(53:49):
it mostly for work, but youmaybe have like a very tight space to
work with and you don't you know, you've got a laptop, but you
don't want to necessarily use let's saylike the you know, the the track
pad on the laptop itself, oryou want or you have a desktop or
like a thin client or something,or you're using it on an arm rest
or chair or bed or whatever, and you have limited space to move a
(54:10):
mouse around or it's not convenient, then you might want to check out this
Ergo track ball profit from Kensington becauseit's one of the better mice out there
that I've seen that's covering a differentspace that not a lot of people are
making mice that are this hybrid stylein that it's yes, it's the traditional
track ball, but fitted within what'smore of a standard ergonomic mouse. One
(54:37):
an award from the Red Dot isa Red Dot winner for twenty twenty three,
and it had a bunch of othernominations and praises from some of the
other trade shows, So that's prettycool. I'll put a link in the
description for this. You might wantto check this out. I'm actually going
to use it as sort of amainstay for the media mouse that I'm going
to use, like in the bedroomor in the living room. I'll probably
(54:59):
for the most most part still useone of my other mice, maybe something
else from Kensington on my computer ifI'm playing games, but as far as
like for media, like for mediacenter use or for office use, it's
actually very very cool because it doesfree up a lot of space, and
here's a lot of the issues thatyou might have when trying to use a
mouse in a non conventional workspace. All right, clear out, what are
(55:25):
your prime directors? Serve the public, trust, protect the innocent, uphold
the law. It's good. Huhhuh. I fucking love it. Hey,
(55:46):
guys, this is Mike the Birdmanhere, and I'm here to talk
about something I am super excited about. We got this from our friends over
at Teyon and Nikon. I'm talkingabout RoboCop Rogue City. For those you
have been following the show since abouttwo thousand and seven, it is no
secret that RoboCop is one of myfavorite franchises of all time. I can
(56:07):
probably recite the first two movies almostentirely from memory, each bit of dialogue,
every scene, the robodoc all thatstuff. I know RoboCop inside end
out. My favorite fictional weapon, besides the M forty one a pulse rifle,
is Robocop's iconic Auto nine, basedon le Brenda ninety three R machine
pistol. You might say, Iknow a little bit about robo so when
(56:30):
I found out this was gonna beheaded up by the same guys who did
Terminator Resistance. I gotta say Ifelt this project was in tremendously good hands.
So RoboCop Rogue City takes place betweenRoboCop two and RoboCop three and actually
is a pretty cool story that Iwould love to see done maybe in a
(56:50):
different format as well, maybe asa comic book, but having it done
as a video game with Peter Wellercoming back to voice roboaka Murphy, that's
pretty awesome. It would have beennice had they gotten Nancy Allen to come
back as Anne Lewis. But overall, I really can't complain about this,
Like this is such a fantastic game, and it really is the best Rubble
(57:15):
cop licensed game ever. Like itlooks the part, it feels the part.
You feel invincible as rubble Coop.Yeah, you can still die if
you take a lot of damage, but you know, you just you feel
like this metallic, cybernetic soldier goingout there and upholding the law, protecting
the innocent, and serving the publictrust. It's so badass, but you
(57:37):
could. But you can also doside quests to uphold the public trust,
Like you might help solve a drugdeal, you might help solve a murder,
which you know, even has referencesto the first and second movie with
that some block five thousand or whateverit is. There's just a lot of
bits of lore that have sprinkled inthroughout this that really leads to the oftenicity.
(58:00):
And I think whenever a company likeTaon gets a hold of these eighties
properties like Terminator and Robocomp, thereis such a clear love for the IP
they wanted to feel authentic the gameitself. If I did have one complaint
about it is I wish skill pointswere distributed a little bit faster so you
(58:23):
can totally power up robot to hismaximum level of efficiency. That would be
pretty cool. I would maybe sayI wish there were more dialogue options,
which actually really surprised me. Youcan actually have dialogue options that will affect
different outcomes later on. I'm notsaying it's like Fallout or Mass Effect levels
(58:45):
of involvement, but I was sopleasantly surprised by the level of care and
detail with this, And just again, this feels about as authentically robo cop
as anything I could pop possibly haveever asked for. And I did not
think in twenty twenty three I wouldbe playing out my childhood fantasies of playing
(59:08):
RoboCop in a game that feels notjust like another side scrolling beat him up
with some occasional shooting action. Nah, this is great. And the fact
that you can approach different scenarios withdifferent tactics, Like there's one section very
early on in the game you haveto interrogate a guy. You don't have
(59:29):
to hit him, you don't evenhave to shoot him, just break stuff
to raise his heart rate and he'lleventually give up the goods. And the
fact that the bad guys for thistie into the lore of RoboCop as a
whole. It's freaking awesome. Iwas so impressed when they revealed who the
new guy is. I was like, Okay, that's clever. And even
(59:50):
when you get to the big batof the game, it explains things that
lead into RoboCop three. I amliterally if it wasn't for Spider Man two
and probably a few other titles thisyear, this might even be my game
of the year. And I knowthat's really high praise and probably not even
you know, deserving of that, but this is definitely the reason it ranks
(01:00:13):
so high for me is because ofthe love of the ip the gameplay suits
it, it works. I dowish there was a new game. Plus,
maybe they'll do something like that downthe road. There is some DLC
for this. I bought the RoboCopto DLC, which makes me look like
that metallic blue you see in thesecond movie. But there's some other cool
(01:00:35):
stuff too. Ultimately, RoboCop RogueCity is one of the best licensed IP
games I've seen in a really, really long time. The only other one
that even comes close to its levelof love of the IP is I'm gonna
say Spider Man too, because youclearly Andsomniac loves it, but they have
a much higher budget, and it'sjust it's Marvel, right, so everybody
(01:00:59):
loves it. Rubble CoP's a littlebit more a niche. But for those
kids who grew up in the nineteeneighties and loved, you know, that
over the top violence, that ridiculouscyberpunk dystopian future, this is your jam.
So really, the last two gamesthese guys have done with Terminator Resistance
is an absolute must buy. RubocopRogue City takes what they did there and
(01:01:22):
improves upon it. I can't waitto see what these guys are gonna do
next. Maybe we'll get a diehard game. Maybe we'll get something from
Universal Soldier that would be really reallycool, by the way, but no,
seriously, rubocop Rogue City, pickthis game up this holiday season.
You will not be sorry. Andas the guy might say from the TV,
(01:01:45):
I'd buy that for a dollar readyeah, he needs a car fast,
thank you? Sure any time?Oh yeah, go get him boy.
(01:02:22):
Every single day stress comes in everyway all. I ain't got no
time for nobody. My style isrich, dope, fat and which we'll
make a cake today and that looksrich. Crack crack cracked the egge to
the bull. Crack crack, crackthe eggs to the bull. Am I
X the flower to the ball andex the flyer into the bull. Crack
crack, crack the egge in tothe bull. Crack. Hey, guys,
(01:02:45):
this is Mike the Birdman here.I'm here to talk about something really
neat we got from our friends overat Ninja. Why don't be talking about
the Ninja Foody power mixer system. This is an immersion blender and a hand
mixer combo. So this thing hasa six hundred and fifty one power base
that allows you to switch between attachmentsreally really easily, so you can whisk,
you can mix, you can whip, and you can blend with one
(01:03:07):
convenient appliance. So this thing alsostores away super easily, has really compact
attachments that are dishwashers safe, soif you're like me and you don't like
to do dishes, that makes cleanup super easy. And the immersion blenders
really cool. Because my wife lovesto make soup, It's an annual tradition
around here, and since we usedto test drive a lot of cookbooks,
(01:03:27):
one of our favorite recipes actually comesout of the Pokemon cookbook, which is
known as Deren maka Soup or akaVampire Soup because it's going to keep away
vampires. It is pretty pretty cool. Now another thing that you can do
with this thing. I haven't ownedan egg beeder in years, and usually
when Blair does baking, I getthe job of whisking. I get like
(01:03:50):
a bowl and a spoon, andwe'll better find something to watch on YouTube
because I'm gonna be here for awhile, not anymore. Now that she's
got this, it makes my jobwell virtually non existent. So while I've
been put out of a job,it certainly makes things a lot easier,
and it's really cool just to havethis because it makes a lot of holiday
baking super super easy. We've donesome cookie recipes, we've got some soups
(01:04:12):
are going to be made later onthis week. I know the first thing
we made was raspberry cheecake thumbprint cookiesand it's pretty awesome. And this is
something that we've seen again in thevery atric communities as something that really works
well with the other thing that wereviewed the other day, which is the
Ninja Creamy, And I'm really surprisedjust how well a lot of the Ninja
products work for people who basically wantto have an easier time in the kitchen.
(01:04:38):
Because you know, TikTok has explodedcanterest in Instagram, so everybody thinks
they're going to be on Master Chef. But by having devices like these in
your kitchen, it's actually pretty easyto do a lot of these super complicated
things now because you're going to havethe right tools and you're going to be
able to clean up super easy afterwards. You're not spending hours upon hours in
(01:04:59):
the kitchen as well, and byhaving a thing that's so many different devices
in one you're gonna save on counterspace. And you know, we all live
in smaller apartments now and have smallerkitchen, so space is usually at a
premium. So you're gonna be asking, do we recommend the Ninja Footi Power
Mixer System lowtel I said, isthe immersion blender in the hand mixer combo.
(01:05:21):
Yeah, you're gonna get a reallypowerful appliance in one space. You're
gonna get something that can do somany different things, and it's gonna open
up so many options for healthy living. Especially, like I said, if
you're willing to look on TikTok,Instagram and Pinterest, you're gonna find so
many combos. So if you haveever wanted to try out something to be
(01:05:43):
that master chef, this is actuallypretty kick ass. So and especially if
you look around right now, youare bound to find some of these on
sale for Black Friday, but Iam almost assuredly you'll find these for sale
during our Holiday gift guide coming upin just a couple of weeks. Once
again, that is the Ninja FootiePower Mixer System, which is an immersion
blender and hand mixed your combo. It's made our lives easier here at Twig
(01:06:06):
Studios, so you should probably checkthis out. Joins the Bowl, Join
the Battle. We're making us acake that you've never seen. A goal.
We're making us a cake that younever seen a pole. Heat on
the oven, Now on a roll, Eat on the oven. Now we
on a roll. Cheat cheap cheeps. The name that's Magnificent bets. Color
(01:06:29):
me kooky, but something very oddis going on around here. You're not
allowed to talk anymore, and thatis going to do it for the show
this week. We will be backlater on this week with a New Earth
Versus soup, and then this followingMonday, we will have our final live
recording that Mike and I put togetherof the regular show before taking our winter
(01:06:54):
break. But that doesn't mean weare going to have lots of programming.
We will still be having UH coverageof the game Awards plus our gaming picks
for the year. That'll be ourprobably final prototype unless we have something that
we come up with before the endof the year. As well as the
following day or two after that,we're recording our holiday Gift Guide and that'll
(01:07:15):
be released I think either a daylater maybe the Monday. It might go
in the regular slot. Of wherewe usually have our show released, and
then beyond that, we have otherrecordings that we've some of them we've already
recorded, and some of them weplan to record over the next week or
two. And those are going tobe a bunch of loose cannons, future
imperfects, and maybe a prototype, just not one hundred percent sure on that
(01:07:40):
just yet. And those will bereleased basically once a week during our hiatus,
if not in the regular time slot, something like a Tuesday or Wednesday,
will probably throw those out for everybodyto listen to and have fun with.
We are going to do probably aChristmas special. Berman and I,
as you heard on a Previos show, we talked about maybe having some ideas
(01:08:02):
for that, maybe talking about classicsitcom Christmas episodes or things that that you
know, maybe you forgot about fromyour childhood that way. And I'm not
sure if we're going to have anythingfor New Year's probably not. We might
just take a break because it isgoing to be cold and we're all going
to be recovering from all that Christmasfood. So we will have a major
(01:08:26):
review releases and maybe in either ina review show if we collect enough stuff
like stuff comes in which always seemsto do. After a holiday gift guide
that we can maybe get out beforeChristmas. We might do another review show
like this, maybe a week beforeChristmas if we have enough. If not,
there'll probably be one released at somepoint between Christmas and when we come
(01:08:46):
back, at least one or twoof them if stuff comes in, because
there's there's always a bit of alull when it comes to games and stuff
that come out in movies, butthere is usually some stuff that's worth collecting
and talking about during you know, that three or four weeks that we usually
take our break, so we'll keepyou informed. You'll know basically via our
socials or an episode will just popup into your feed, so we aren't
(01:09:09):
going away, just taking a bitof a break, and then we'll come
back fully recharged into twenty twenty four. So hopefully you you know, got
some ideas of maybe things you mightwant to buy or keep an eye out
for with this show here. Wewill be back, as I said a
little later this week, with ourregular Earth Versus soups, which are still
(01:09:30):
coming out every Thursday. They're alreadyscheduled and ready to go all the way
through until our hiatus is over andwe'll be back on Monday with the final
regular show. We're going to seeif we can get some news put together
and some weird news that might tricklein there. There's a couple of stories
that are interesting. There's a localone already right now that I'm buying that
was kind of ridiculous. So yeah, we'll be back a little bit later
(01:09:53):
this week, and until then,I'm Alex the producer. I guess keep
subscribed, keep listening, keep watching. We might do some streaming to keep
up with Birdman. He's been streamingon Twitch with the Game Heroes. That's
been fun. I dropped in onone of those. They've been doing Call
of Duty on there. Maybe we'lldo some other stuff on our main YouTube
(01:10:15):
channel for that. I'm gonna bedoing some probably some RPG streaming on there.
I'm just not sure which game justyet, but I'm going to hop
back into it. It's still sortof a hobbyist thing, but the plan
is to do significantly more of itin twenty twenty four. And I've said
that the last couple of years, but we're going to ramp up a little
more on the video side of things, probably not with the actual podcast podcast,
but with some game streams, maybesome video review content. We'll see
(01:10:39):
how it goes. It's just we'renot really abandoning audio. It's going to
be our main bread and butter foreverything, but it is always nice to
try something else and different, Soyou know, keep your eye on the
YouTube channel for that because they seemto allow for better quality streams than Twitch
right now. Who knows. We'llsee what happens in twenty twenty four.
But that's it. I'm Alex theproducer. We'll be back next time,
right here on This Week in geekdot Net. In your rambling, incoherent
(01:11:01):
response, were you even close toanything that could be considered a rational thought?
