Speaker 1 (00:11):
The word what your back Doors?

Speaker 2 (01:26):
Hey all, and welcome to the Treasure for tex Podcasts
with Gypsy Jewels from YouTube zero discrimination, as well as
her website gypsydigs dot com, and myself, Amanda Digger Degaze.
I know that Gypsy and I have not caught up
again in the last week. We do not have a guest.
Will be lucky if the system lets us run this
this week. So hey, here's hoping right. So hey, Gypsy,

(01:51):
how are you?

Speaker 3 (01:53):
Hey? I'm doing good, doing good despite our testing for
sound check for the podcast that we had a little
a few little issues bugs. But hopefully if the echo
is not too bad?

Speaker 2 (02:10):
Yeah, really hope or not? I think we just put
the last twenty five minutes trying to get it to go.

Speaker 4 (02:15):
So yeah, hopefully it's not bad.

Speaker 2 (02:18):
I'm going to continue working on it throughout as well,
so hopefully if it is, if it is coming across
with Gypsy echoing, it will get better. But I do
know I interrupted her in the middle of doing what.

Speaker 4 (02:30):
She loves best. So you want to tell us what
you were up to?

Speaker 3 (02:37):
Yeah? So I ended up taking a friend to work
today because her car broke down and hanging around in
a town you know, about an hour and fifteen minutes
away from me, and you know me, I've got to

(02:58):
go check out the local park and do some exploring
and everything. So I found a local park. First, I
went to coffee shop this morning and because it was raining,
so after the rain went away, I ventured out and
I found the first park I went to, and I

(03:22):
just walked around. Uh, there was a there's a beautiful
pond here with all these beautiful lily pads. I took
some photos and I'm walking along these old trees up
on the hill by the pond, and all of a sudden,
I see all this old glass, and you know what
that means when you start seeing And then I see

(03:43):
old brick, and next thing you know, I'm seeing a
lot of broken you know, porcelain, china, broken pottery. So
I'm like, okay, Well, so I pulled my out started videoing,
and I'm like, I'm parked on the other side of

(04:04):
the park, over by the where the top lot is.
So I'm like, I'm I come back over here and
I'm going to metal detect. So there's luckily a bathroom here,
and so I went to the bathroom. Then I went
and got my detector, and I'm like, but I hit
the tip lot first, and then I'm gonna drive over
because I saw when I walked up here where I'm

(04:25):
parked right now, there was an area to park over
here too. It's just a back road you come through.
So I'm like, when I hit this tiplight first. So
I hit the toplight and I wasn't having much luck,
and finally I got like some pennies and then kept detecting,
kept detecting, so I went over to the zip line

(04:46):
and then boom quarter, boom quarter, and then oh well, no,
the swings, and then I got a bracelet or an anklet,
real cute. And then I went to the zip one
and then I got like a little charm and so
I was like, yeah, okay, some coins and nickel and

(05:06):
a bunch more pennies and finished that up. So after that,
got my car and drove over to these old trees
where all this broken stuff was so be bomping around.
And you know how when you're in a park there's
always the modern pool tabs and stuff and bottle caps

(05:29):
and all that laying on top of the ground. So
when I had walked it earlier, because I knew I
was gonna come back over here and tagged. I picked
up as much as I could of that you know trash,
and dumped it in the local and the posts trash can,
and then then when I came back, you know, that's
less trash you have to you know, go through. Well,

(05:53):
then I got h I kept finding a lot of
zinc pennies, you know, a lot of the modern pennies,
just kind of on top of the ground with the
detector really shallowed. And then went over by this tree
where there's a bunch of old bricks and I got
this solid eighty nine signal with my vortex, and I'm like,

(06:18):
taking down the first two inches is like soft dirt,
because you know, it just rained. Then you get down
to that semen stuff we're talking about last week, and
oh my goodness, it was so hard to get down,
and so I kept digging and digging. I was like,
I don't know, four to six inches down in this compact,

(06:41):
hard hard, hard dirt, And finally I got down to
it and I could see it was some ornate brass something.
So I finally was able to pull it out. My
videoed it, and once I got it out, I'm not
certain what it went to the way it shaped. My

(07:02):
first guess would be possibly the handle off of maybe
an old lantern or some you know, candlestick holder. I
don't know, but second guess it could be part of
an discussion but if there's design on both sides, which

(07:23):
makes me think more something like that. And then the
discussion off of a you know, an old furniture which
is usually just one sided. So I don't know, but
I'm going to clean it up. It's definitely solid brass,
it's pretty. And then that's when you text me and said, hey,
you want to record for the podcast, And I'm like sure,

(07:48):
and so put my detector back in the car and uh, yeah, son,
morning side.

Speaker 2 (07:56):
I know you're you're traveling too, You're not you're not home,
and I know that things have been crazy on my
end as well, so I know that, like, we won't
obviously run the show for an hour. I don't think
we have in a while. I think last week we
might have actually gotten closed. There was a lot of
flight going back and forth. But so that way you

(08:18):
can get your your machine back out before it hits
the peak heat in your area today.

Speaker 3 (08:26):
Yeah, I'm excited to get back out. I just don't
like this hard, hard dirt. But I passed another little
park on the way, but I'm definitely going to hit
all this area first before I move on to another park.
How about you? Were you able to get out any

(08:48):
I did?

Speaker 2 (08:48):
Yep, I got out and got went mudlarking. This weekend,
I went to an area that I haven't been to
in a while, and actually like because I haven't been
to any of my area in a while. Went to
one last weekend and it was super productive because I
hadn't been there in forever. But this one I didn't

(09:10):
find anything. I'm part of a clipe, you know, clay pipes,
the stem fragment, no beads, no marbles, no no real anything.
I know one of the beaches, I pick up all
the copper and the lead because I recycle it.

Speaker 4 (09:27):
So I did do a bunch of that.

Speaker 2 (09:28):
It got me out of the house, got me away
from everything and got to listen to you know, the
nature and the birds. And I'd say, put my head
in the dirt, but really it's it's mud, so not
not really my head and a.

Speaker 4 (09:43):
Dirt on that, but yeah, it was. It was pretty crazy.
There was not much not much out there.

Speaker 2 (09:48):
Hoping this week to get out to another spot I've
been keeping an eye on. It's a different tide, so
I have to keep an eye on the tide charts
for this other one I want to go, and then
I'll probably have to bring company. It seems like a
lot of my areas have become more dangerous. One of

(10:11):
them is natural dangerous like bear and bobcats and not
great stuff. The other is humans, and then another is
it's near the like a water district, so there's no
set time water will start gushing out of this giant pipe.

(10:31):
That's the one of the ways that I find to
get to the area. So and it's it's not on
like a timetable, so it's yeah, it's one of those
things where, yeah, it's best if you.

Speaker 4 (10:44):
Have company with you, as someone with.

Speaker 2 (10:47):
You with you yeah maybe yeah maybe, but yeah, definitely
one of those things.

Speaker 4 (10:54):
But when I want to.

Speaker 2 (10:54):
Check out because it's where I found my too real
and my umbrella and my first intact clay pipe and
it was really great. So hoping to get back over there,
but yeah, I need to. I need to bring some
company down with me and they'd probably have fun scouring too,

(11:17):
same same, same, same, same.

Speaker 4 (11:20):
But besides that, yeah, that's about it. I have been
going through.

Speaker 2 (11:24):
Like last week I talked about, you know that that
partial that I had was gold.

Speaker 4 (11:29):
I know.

Speaker 2 (11:30):
I'm pretty sure at that same spot I had found
a couple like gold in the teeth, like where they
used gold as a.

Speaker 4 (11:39):
Filler or filling.

Speaker 2 (11:41):
I don't know what I did with those, and I
don't know what I did with a whole bunch of stuff.

Speaker 4 (11:45):
So I'm basically finding all the.

Speaker 2 (11:46):
Little tots and the little tackle boxes that I put
stuff in and trying to trying to organize, still doing that,
looking at it all, going gosh, I gotta get rid
of a whole bunch of stuff.

Speaker 3 (12:01):
Right, Well, I've got some stuff that I did. I
was able to post the video yesterday yes esterday afternoon,
I don't remember what time evening, I guess, And it
was from my previous time when I was with my

(12:22):
friend Zola and Farren and we did metal detecting and
some dump dump digging. So it's a combo video where
it's got all of that combined. So if everybody gets
a chance, go check it out. Because at the dump
which we dug at the previous day, which if you

(12:45):
watched my previous video with Sola, I found something there
and I ended up finding another part to it, so
I got the whole piece now, so you have to
watch the video aut what that is, and so I'm
going to do some electrolysis on it. It's really cool.
So I'm not gonna do a spoiler alert. I'll hope

(13:09):
the go we shouldn't find out and they're probably gonna
have to watch pretty close to the end to find
out what that is. So but it was a fun video,
fun time because there's a big combination of different different
fines and different things, even that giant fossil I found
in there, So what's of cool cool stuff. So I

(13:31):
hope everyone will hop on over there and watch my
latest video, and then I still have one more video
to put out at the end of the week from
that trip as well, when we went arrowhead digging, so
I'll be excited to put that one out.

Speaker 1 (13:50):
I know.

Speaker 2 (13:53):
I was gonna say, with fall happening, have you heard
of any events that you might be as henning?

Speaker 3 (13:59):
Not just yet, I haven't. I am talking to someone
right now about trying to put my own hunt together,
like super fast, so we would barely have like three
months to plan and it wouldn't be in Texas if
it happened. So I am working.

Speaker 4 (14:20):
On it nice.

Speaker 3 (14:21):
It's just in the very very beginning stages. So if
if it happens, I will let y'all know, and I'll
be you know, posting on my socials and putting videos
out about it to get the word out. But singers crossed,
I could make it happen. I just anyway more to

(14:44):
come on. That's not what I originally was something, you know,
with the old mining town. I never heard back from
that property owner, so unfortunately, who knows. Maybe next year,
let's see. But yeah, unless anybody else has got you know,

(15:05):
properly that it could do a large hunt on at
least you know, one hundred fiftet people, let me know,
maybe you can work a deal.

Speaker 4 (15:24):
Uh yeah.

Speaker 2 (15:24):
The only reason I asked that is I saw that
one of the hunts up in Pennsylvania was already posting
their Spring hunt, and I was like, oh jeez, oh cool,
all right, we're already at that time.

Speaker 4 (15:36):
I guess, I don't know. Fall is usually the best here.

Speaker 3 (15:42):
It really is. Fall so good for all the hunts
and I haven't really heard yet, yeah.

Speaker 4 (15:54):
About anything that Doc talk about the dog.

Speaker 3 (16:00):
Dog Okay, so I'm gonna talk for a minute while
she steps away for just a second. I was also
I ended up having to repeat myself. But I also
yesterday I stopped off and did some magna fishing at

(16:24):
a boat dock, and it was one of those times
where I had started raining not long after i'd gotten there,
so I ended up calling it quits. And you just
never know what you're gonna find at those dogs. But

(16:44):
unfortunately I was. I was skunked. I got a screw
and a nail, so I got screwed and nailed. It
was pretty bad, but anyway, I would love to go
back out there, though there were several other parts of

(17:05):
the dock that I did not get to go to,
so we'll see. Love magnet fishing. I haven't been doing
much magnet fishing in a long time. But here I'm
at this park right now, and there is this pond
with a dock out on there, So who knows, after

(17:25):
I've finished Metal Detective, I might get out there and
try that. And you hear all the dogs, hey yo, yep,
I was telling them about my magnet fishing. Yesterday. Oh fun,
I had magnet fished and forever. I did get a

(17:48):
new magnet. My friend Charlene gave me a new one
and it's it's like a five hundred pool. But yeah,
I got a screw in a nail, so I get
screwed nailed. It's pretty pathetic and started raining. So I believe.
But I'm not going to go back there.

Speaker 4 (18:10):
That's fine. Well, are you closed by it? So you
could probably hit it this afternoon?

Speaker 3 (18:14):
No? No, if I drive my friend back, it's possible.
Maybe this afternoon. Nice, We will see because it's near
the lake where she lives, so just depends on the
vehicle situation. She gets your car back today. Wow.

Speaker 2 (18:35):
Well, and I hate to call this short, and it
has to be called short because we spent the twenty
five minutes trying to get it to work in the
press place that was going to be part of the
show that we kind of we we'll figure something out
here eventually. The systems don't like us, and they never have.

(18:56):
We were talking about that all the way back to Mike.

Speaker 4 (18:59):
I know.

Speaker 2 (18:59):
It was actually it was very sad news about Loy passing,
and it was crazy that last week while prepping. I
was going through the notebook and talking about all the
guests we've had and bringing up all the names, and
Loy was one of them. We had seven on. I
think it was in twenty twenty two, maybe we had
him on.

Speaker 3 (19:18):
Yeah, that was such terrible sad news. I was so
sad to hear that. And you know, all those years
he always told me, you know, he wanted to meet
me in person, and I never got to meet him
in person, only you know, got to be on his
show several times and we talked and just got to
know him through you know, us having him also on

(19:39):
the show. And it's yeah, so sad. I know he's
going to be greatly missed. Such a great you know,
person in the in our hobby and so well known
and for his greatness.

Speaker 2 (19:57):
So yeah, let's try your hunting hobby. That's podcasting. He
was like a diver, a detector.

Speaker 3 (20:04):
Everything, diving, yeah.

Speaker 2 (20:06):
Big dive, all of it. Yeah, So that was some
sad news from this last week. So if you're not
on Facebook, I think it was Facebook.

Speaker 4 (20:16):
I saw it.

Speaker 2 (20:16):
If you're not on Facebook and you you didn't know,
now you do. I think it was was it Friday
that he passed. It was something at some point last.

Speaker 3 (20:26):
Week, but that was.

Speaker 4 (20:30):
Oh my all right.

Speaker 2 (20:32):
Well I didn't really want to end on that note
because I forgot to bring it up in the beginning,
so I'm I apologize.

Speaker 3 (20:40):
Yeah, I'm glad you thought of it, because I totally
forgot it.

Speaker 2 (20:44):
Just it was to me it was so weird that
we brought him up on Monday and I hadn't heard
his name in a while, and then all of a sudden,
it was.

Speaker 4 (20:52):
Like man popping up. Yeah. Things things work like that. Yeah, yeah,
well it really does.

Speaker 3 (21:03):
But well, it's been great catching up with you, and
I hope you have a wonderful rest of your week.
And I'm want to get back out there and do
some digging.

Speaker 4 (21:12):
All right, good luck, good luck.

Speaker 2 (21:13):
All right, everyone, have a great evening and catch you
next week. Bye, y'all, good night everyone.
