Speaker 1 (00:10):
As Man couldn't word what your back and doors?
Speaker 2 (01:21):
Hi Ellen, Welcome to Monday Night's Treasure Vortex with Gypsy
Jewels from YouTube's zero Discrimination, as well as her website
gypsydigs dot com and myself Amanda diggerd. Guys, we are
actually filming on Monday Night. Let's see. We are now
in March, March third and having caught up to Gypsy
since last week. So, hey, Gypsy, how are you tonight?
Speaker 3 (01:46):
Hey, I'm doing wonderful. How about yourself?
Speaker 2 (01:49):
I'm doing alright, doing all right?
Speaker 3 (01:51):
How's the weather there?
Speaker 2 (01:53):
Oh it's downright miserable? Shoot, yeah, we had really nice
weather last week. It was honestly pretty sure fools spring
like a fool's first spring because we probably go through
like three more of them, where it got up to
(02:13):
fifty three and it was sunny and it just felt
so good, and then the breeze kicked in and by
morning it was I think it was one degree, which
you know, ended up being a real feel of like
negative seven. And it's been cold since. So they say
(02:37):
it's abnormal for this time of the year. I'm like, oh, yeah,
is it though? But besides that, how about you?
Speaker 3 (02:47):
Oh well, well, here today. It did get up to
sixty six, but it's been cloudy all day, rain last
night and was supposed to rain tomorrow to get a
little cooler tomorrow, but I think we've got still warmer weather.
And then I know the time change is coming, and
(03:09):
I'm really really really looking forward to that because oh
I'm ready for some longer days and some sun. It's
coming very much. So I'm hoping that the weather's going
to be great in North Carolina. I really haven't checked
it out yet. I know it's going to be getting
in Texas, but I don't know about North Carolina yet.
Speaker 2 (03:31):
Yeah, I'm not sure. I haven't checked what it will
be a So, yeah, daylight savings on Sunday, so we
will be having the sunset here at quarter to seven.
So that's nice. Wooh. We're basically into like the good
time to be able to get out after work because
you actually have a chunk of it before it's dark,
(03:52):
which is always fun. And then you are flying out
to North Carolina for a dig stock this week? Is
that what you were saying?
Speaker 3 (04:02):
Yeah, So I leave Thursday and fly out Thursday, and
I'll be going to dig stock and I we'll have
an extra vortex because Friday I picked up the updated,
full new version. I had been using the prototype, even
though I had to update on it, but it was
(04:22):
still a prototype machine and it had made some altered,
you know, some changes to the machine with some of
the connections and other stuff. So so far, I am
absolutely loving it. And I did get to get out Friday.
(04:43):
After I picked it up, I took it to a park,
started making a little video showed, you know, a little
simple stuff on there, how to scrow through the menu,
you know, how to pair the headphones, et cetera. And
I'm excited. Say, well, I can't say much, but there
(05:03):
is another little product coming out soon, another little product.
That's so I got to see it. Anyway. That's all
I can say, and I will not give any anything
else because I'm it's zip my lip. All I can
(05:25):
say there is another little product coming out about that.
Speaker 2 (05:29):
Well, I can tell you that I pulled up one
of the hotels near where the digstock area is supposed
to be, and it's showing Thursday forty eight and partly sunny,
Friday fifty six, partly sunny, sixty three. On Saturday, partly
sunny and Sunday fifty three and partly sunny, so it
(05:50):
looks okay, too bad forty eight to sixty three. The
evenings though, look chilly. Okay, would be chilly for you.
Thirty I bring on my.
Speaker 3 (05:58):
Coat, you know, goes, I'm so cool natured, so I'll
be bringing my coat in. Well, I always bring it anyway,
or a coat, okay. Well, good to know. Yeah, I
was hoping for it to at least be in the
high sixties. That would have been nice. But oh well,
take what I can get other than rain or storm.
(06:21):
You know, I'm not going to complain.
Speaker 2 (06:23):
You know, it seems like springs are usually chilly and breezy,
and you got to remember you're going to be an
open yeah March.
Speaker 3 (06:32):
So yeah, March is here, and so you don't have
the tree. Yeah, if you're in an open field, you
don't have the trees kind of blocking some of that wind.
Speaker 2 (06:41):
So yeah, Marching Umber are very much, very similar, except
in March we're happy to be in the fifties in
the forties, and in October we're sad and cold when
it's in the forties and fifties. But it's like it's
going to be breezy ten to twenty miles an hour
(07:03):
on the given.
Speaker 3 (07:04):
Days, Okay, so I can take easy and breezy. Yeah,
it's not freezing.
Speaker 2 (07:09):
I think a bunch of our listeners are going to
be there, so gotcha fantastic.
Speaker 3 (07:16):
Yeah, And if they're looking to maybe tryout of Vortex,
I'm sure I can loan one of mine out for
a little while so they can test it. So far,
I am absolutely loving it. I cannot wait to get
it into North Carolina because I'm hoping to pull some
old silver. I'm making my bucket list checklist right now.
(07:42):
And since I last time I was in North Carolina,
I got my cut reale, so I'm hoping for a
whole reale this time. And who knows. I mean, I
remember last time I was there, I was hunting with
some friends and like my friend Zola was hunting. We
(08:02):
were hunting in this really trashy iron area and she
popped it was a let's see a barber quarter. And
then my friend ray Raymond John's he popped a trime
which is still on my bucket list, still on my
(08:23):
bucket list, so and then another one of my friends
in a really trashy area we were digging canfall like crazy,
and you know how that is. It gets frustrating, but
you just never know what the next HiT's going to
be because guess what sounded like canfall he said, but
(08:44):
he dug it and it turned out to be a
Spanish reale. So you just never know. And you know,
I was thinking this new the vortex has this culu
this mode on there that I want to try maybe
when I'm in that field that is for thin coins
and you know some of those realities or dinner, you know, yeah, yeah,
(09:08):
so and the trimes are so small and thin, so
I may try out that mode on the vortex and
just see if I get any results, especially in the
areas where you know, a lot of here and a
lot of iron, because I've done so well with the
vortex and high iron areas.
Speaker 2 (09:25):
So it's funny, I did. You were talking North Carolina
and the you know, the aluminum, the Cancelaw and one
of the last fields that I picked up my metal
detector and actually used there a couple of years ago
for dig stock. It was it really was just cancelaw
after cance law, and John kept doing it. But I
(09:48):
was like, nah, I'm gonna I'm gonna go back towards
the car talk to some people because I hadn't you know,
you get to see people you haven't seen it forever.
So and they were all hanging out. So I went
back to the car and he had kept digging and
I think he found he found a button, he found
a bunch of stuff and it was all in that
area with the cancel. He's like, I just kept digging it.
(10:10):
I was like, so, I don't know if you've got
to make a game out of it. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (10:15):
Sometimes it takes is a little patient, you know, so,
but we lose our patients a lot, right.
Speaker 2 (10:26):
Uh yeah, but yeah, it is you really, you really
do have to just stick with it and and keep going.
And I'm so excited for you all. If so, anybody
who's listening all over the listeners, if you go to
dig stock, find gipsy, get a picture, put it on
the Treasure Vortex Facebook page so we can see see y'all.
Speaker 3 (10:48):
That would be fun. Yeah, grab a photo. It'll be
fun and let's see how many photos we can get
and we can tag, you know, Treasure Vortex or hashtag
it or something. Yeah, be great, and maybe we'll do
a contest. Maybe I'll bring back something I can give away.
How about that?
Speaker 2 (11:05):
Yeah? We never yeah, never know. So make sure if
you do get a picture with Gypsy, find the Treasure
of Vortex on Facebook. And if you're not Facebook, we're
on Instagram as well, and I can always go and look,
I know we haven't been posting, that's that's my.
Speaker 3 (11:21):
Fault doing it.
Speaker 2 (11:26):
Yeah, but yeah, definitely go and and tag tag her,
tag me, tag Treasure of Vartex. We can see. And
I mean, I'm excited for you all, slightly jealous because
I'd really like to dig as well, but hey, uh,
you know, it makes the next time I get out
that much, you know better. So I do have to say,
(11:49):
I've got to watch the movie you put in that
movie A Hi watched the movie. I did. Actually, I
watched the movie you put out last week, the creek.
Speaker 3 (11:59):
Video Money in the Creek, Money in the Creek, How funny. Yeah.
I was with my friend Jessica. She that was her
very first time to go treasure hunting or any creek
and she just had a blast, even though she didn't
find as much as I did. But you know, she
(12:20):
got typical marble. She got a really pretty stone, which
made me think of you.
Speaker 2 (12:28):
She's got to train a rise because I know, yeah,
I think I think our eyes get so used to it.
Speaker 3 (12:35):
It does, and it takes time. I remember the first
time I went to the money Creek, even though i'd
you know, done mudlarking before. I remember the first time
I didn't find as much as everybody. I did end
up towards the end with I think it was a
Mercury dime, but it was like that one where opposed
to other people that were finding coins right and left.
(12:58):
And it just takes the train die and once you
get used to it. And so I'll have another video
coming out soon where she found something else we were
madlarking creek and it's pretty cool. You'll love it and
appreciate it, I know. But anyway, but yeah, I hope
(13:26):
y'all can check it out. It's up to like five
thousand views now, yeah, and I'm really excited because that
really helps me. Y'all, if you get a chance, go
watch my videos. If you get bored, just leave it
on play, let it play, because that's how I've made
more money. I really, you know, this is all I
(13:47):
do now. I don't have a regular job, and I
really appreciate all the views and all the comments and
all of that because it helps me to get gas
money or pay my car deal or something. So it's
really frustrating at times because because it can be a
(14:08):
little slow, but it's it is kind of a housle sometimes,
you know, traveling to these locations. You've got to travel
and then you got to pull out your camera every
time you know, you find something, and then you have
to go back and edit it and et cetera, et cetera.
(14:30):
And anyway, I really really do appreciate and I know
Amanda and I really appreciate you listening to to the podcast.
So it helps us all. We appreciate it and be
sure to share, you know, if you like it, share
it always.
Speaker 2 (14:45):
Again, I still pretend that nobody's listening to the show
because it makes it easier for me to talk.
Speaker 3 (14:53):
I love it.
Speaker 2 (14:54):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (14:56):
Amanda's kind of an introvert, but you know, does such
an amazing job on the Vortex, and everybody just loves
her and loves her voice, and you know, your passion
for treasure hunting and all that just shines through.
Speaker 2 (15:12):
Thanks you guys. I appreciate that again though, No, no, no, no, no, no, yes, yes,
So I hear you're going to be live next week
on TikTok, so on mister mister bucket Lister.
Speaker 3 (15:32):
Yeah, okay, yeah yeah. Flex reached out to me and
asked me if I could be what Do Alive, and
I was like sure, I should be back from North
Carolina by then. So it worked out perfect. And it's
such a struggle to plan anything ahead of time because
(15:55):
sometimes trips like Big Stock and some of the other
trips get planned last minute, so sometimes I don't know,
but anyway, it worked out perfect, So I'm excited. That'll
be fun. I love doing the interviews. I love doing
(16:17):
talking to everybody and and you know, just talking about
our passions like you and I do here.
Speaker 2 (16:27):
Yeah, and their live is a lot of fun. So
you'll actually see quite a few people on the live.
So I think there's like three interviewers and you'll be
on or two interviewers, and you'll be on like the
Big Picture and you could stream it right live on TikTok.
And again the account is mister bucket Lister and it
is fun. I saw Miss Emily was on their live
(16:49):
and then Brad from Green Mountains. I watched him as well,
it was a lot of fun. Yeah, it was good.
It was good. It was it was interesting. It's kind
of like kind of like the YouTube, you know, those
type of interviews, but a little bit different because of
the way it's set up. And yeah, but ultimately it
(17:09):
was there've been fun to watch, so I think you'll
have a great time.
Speaker 3 (17:13):
I'll bet you. They're a lot of fun. And I
would love to hunt with him or all of them
because they find some amazing stuff. I watched some of
their TikTok lives from time to time, and it's just
amazing when they're out in the field and some of
the stuffs that they dig up. But that's really neat
about miss Emily. I noticed that she has a new
(17:34):
vortex and she's been testing out. I just thought posts
today on TikTok she had like five Civil War bullets.
She's like really rocking that vortex. So I can't wait
to see all of her amazing fines. And you know,
she goes by what the little diggers or what is
it now.
Speaker 2 (17:52):
Ye little dirt digger.
Speaker 3 (17:53):
She's not gonna be a little dirt digger much longer.
She's a wrong woman coming up. I'm like, why Wow,
she's she's drawn into a beautiful young young lady and
she's getting better and better. I mean, what I wouldn't
have done, and I'm sure you wouldn't have done to
start out at her age? Can you imagine?
Speaker 2 (18:15):
No?
Speaker 3 (18:16):
No, yeah, I can't even imagine.
Speaker 2 (18:19):
Yep. So yeah, dirt, she's a little dirt digger.
Speaker 3 (18:27):
Little dirt digger. Yeah. And she she lives in that
area where she just I don't know how many I
know that. I don't remember it was the at Pro
or at Max. I know she used both at Max.
That she does I know one maybe two US buckles.
So she is this, Oh my goodness, she is quite
(18:49):
a little hunter. Her hunter. I don't want to call
her little anymore. She's amazing.
Speaker 2 (19:00):
But that's yeah, So that's gonna be fun. And then
the speaking of lives, I only got to catch a
little bit because I was just absolutely wiped. But you
were on quarter Hoorder Live what a week or two years?
Speaker 3 (19:14):
What is?
Speaker 2 (19:15):
Yes?
Speaker 3 (19:17):
You know, Jason quarter Hoarder is one of my ultimate favorites.
And it was so funny he said on his wife.
You know, he started following me right about the time
I followed him after he had just started his YouTube
channel and it's amazing. You know. He started with the
(19:37):
Garret ag Pro and we were talking about that on
the live and we were talking about he said, he
was looking at one of my viral videos and I'm
in the river because they were asking me about water
hunting and stuff and about the new Vortex you know
that's water submersible, et cetera. Which, by the way, I
got some new water submersible headphones to go with my
(20:00):
for next Anyway, I'm so ready for this summer. But
any who, he was saying he looked back at that
video because he was finding like photos and stuff. He
said he was looking at He was one of the
comments on that video that far back, on that very video.
(20:22):
It was just funny. So I just thought that he
thought that was so funny that you know, hey, I
was back way back then. I was one of your
forwards and commenting, and I watched that video. I adore
Jason though, I really really do.
Speaker 2 (20:44):
Yeah, I'm trying to take.
Speaker 3 (20:45):
And the whole team that he takes with.
Speaker 2 (20:48):
Yeah, I I think and digging into New Jersey was
the last time I got to see him. Yeah, I
think so. The the dig it dude, I can't, yeah,
because I really didn't. I went to Bone last year
with you and I went to Rhode Island and that
(21:11):
was it. Did it get to go far? Actually? Speaking
of Bone, so you're coming up to New Hampshire April
twenty third or twenty.
Speaker 3 (21:22):
Second, Yes, yes, going there too, and fingers crossed that
you're going to be coming to and I know you
get some stuff to work out, but we are working
on it and I want to make that happen.
Speaker 2 (21:46):
Yeah, absolutely, but you guys, coming up to New Hampshire
is always a fun thing. So Bone is best of
New England and is held typically well typically I think
it's Wednesday, so Wednesday to Sunday, so April twenty third
to April twenty seventh, and then we'll hopefully have the
(22:06):
Huntmaster on the show to talk about it here soon.
I got to follow back up with him and see
how it's going. And that's always been a lot of fun.
It's been the last like I think four years, maybe
five years, because I think in twenty twenty I got
him there for one day. Yeah yep, right, but you
(22:30):
and the girl and that's always a fun time.
Speaker 3 (22:34):
Oh yeah, I'm so looking forward to hanging with Miguil,
and I know they had another guy named Bob will
be there from Garrett and he's fairly new to Middle detecting,
but he's so excited. I get to see him at
the manufacturing, you know, on Friday, and we were talking
about the vortex and how exciting and some of the
(22:57):
stuff he'd found, and he is so excited. Did about
going as well. So I'm really excited about that trip.
And I know the last time trying to think what
what we found. But I mean, I always have a
blast anyway, and my main fun is just getting to
(23:20):
see all of the people they come and did I
don't did I sometimes only get to see once a year,
you know, Yeah, and it's just so amazing to see
everybody kind of catch up and what they've been finding.
And I like seeing all their fines and seeing their
photos and you know, getting photos and trying to you know,
(23:42):
get a video as well while I'm there. Of everybody's amazing,
finds so excited, excited.
Speaker 2 (23:50):
I'll have to check. I think stuff was there last
year with Debbie and been about to see if she's
going to be there again.
Speaker 3 (23:59):
But across Debbie is just like amazing Step too, Steph
and I, Well you were there, weren't you. Yeah? Yeah,
step is so fun. So I love it. I can't wait.
I cannot wait.
Speaker 2 (24:18):
Yeah, and I do yeah, Bone. I'm hoping to make it,
but I'm supposed to fly out to Nashville on Monday,
like right after, so I've got to figure that out.
Be like, bye, John, I'll see you.
Speaker 3 (24:34):
In a couple Hopefully John's gonna be like, I don't
miss you.
Speaker 2 (24:44):
So I know the past you've had some pretty crappy weather.
Have you managed to do some more painting. I haven't really.
Speaker 3 (24:54):
Let me think. I did get one painting out, and
oh my gosh, so I I one of the photos
I took while I was in Sedona, Arizona, back in
September October. I took this photo of kind of this
mountain scene out there. Well, I made it kind of
into a painting and the colors in it. It's an
(25:14):
oil on canvas, and it's an oil on black canvas,
which it just turned out beautiful. And the photo of
it that I took just doesn't do it justice. It
really doesn't so much better in person. But actually love it.
I'm kind of sad to sell it, but it is
for sale as well. I've got some others. They can
(25:35):
contact me on my Facebook or if anybody wants to
need to paint them. You know, my custom painting. I
have done some sunsets with kind of like some silhouette
metal detectors before, which a friend of mine bought for
Christmas for a friend last year's or around Christmas. So
I can do custom. I just may take a little
(25:57):
longer to get to the custom sometimes, but if any
value is just let me know, be glad to help
you out. I love painting, I love creating. So anyway,
when those bad weather days come in and I can't
get out, that's a great way to spend some time
(26:18):
and try to make a little extra cash for my
travel expenses.
Speaker 2 (26:23):
It's awesome, awesome, So that's good. Well, how about the book?
How is your book doing? Are you going to have
it with you at digstack or.
Speaker 3 (26:35):
Helping too? But not in time. It takes several weeks
for those books to come in, and it takes a
lot of money too to stop them, and like you know,
I just need my money for travel, so unfortunately I
won't have them.
Speaker 2 (26:52):
But you know, they order them from Amazon and bring
them with them and have you sign them.
Speaker 3 (26:58):
Yes, they can come to do that and they would
probably have them within two days. So they can go
to Amazon a Beginner's Guide to Metal Detechnique just digging
it and by Gypsy Jewels and get their copy and
bring it and I will be glad to autograph it
for them. But if they're not able to make it,
(27:20):
they can also get a pre autographed copy at Garrett Direct.
Speaker 2 (27:27):
Oh awesome, awesome. Yeah, that's not very fair that yours
because you're, you know, the writer of the book when
you order them that they take so much longer than
say me going on.
Speaker 3 (27:41):
Yeah, it is because I guess they're printed in bulk
and I have to order like X amount of amount
of them, So yeah, I understand, but yeah, I can
order in regular and get them like one to two days.
Speaker 2 (28:00):
It's fantastic. So yeah, people kit your book, get her
to sign it at dig stock or I know that
there's oh, show Me the show Me Hunt in between?
Is it in between how and Missouri? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (28:17):
Yeah, and there's also another hunt in Arkansas called the
Ozarks I think Ozarks Silver Horde or something like that.
It'll be at as well, And I think moreen from
Garrett will be there and I'll be helping her set
up a Garrett Hant there as well. They can probably
find it on Facebook just you know, search it and
(28:41):
I'm sure it'll be there as well as I think
you can find it on Seated and Natural Hunts Facebook
group more information about the Ozark Silver Horde hunt and
uh so I will be there if you can't make
it to one of the others.
Speaker 2 (29:02):
It's awesome. And again that's just the beginning. Spring. Spring
has sprung and the hunts have started.
Speaker 3 (29:09):
All right, exactly, Yes, busy season.
Speaker 2 (29:19):
Spring and fall, Yes, always, always, always, always, I mean
summer is always for me, the mudlarking and like the
beach hunting and that type of stuff. We'll see glass
hunting and I hope to get to a couple other
mineral and crystal places this year that are within driving distance,
(29:40):
so that's always fun. And then yeah, I'm not sure,
still trying to liquidate a whole bunch of stuff. I
started taking pictures of all the bottles that I have acquired,
not from digging that I'm like, I am ready to
part with my mudlarking something, don't know, it's purchases or
(30:03):
you know, things like that that you know yard sale
finds things. Yeah, like that. I'm like, okay, these are
they need to go.
Speaker 3 (30:15):
Other are different types of treasure huntings.
Speaker 2 (30:21):
Yeah, but it's not really. I mean, I don't know.
It seems like the glory. The glory is in actually
like discovering it. So yeah, it's a little different than hey,
picking up and going, oh, I like the price of this,
I'm going to add this to my collection, all right,
(30:43):
But yeah, I didn't. I did find something out. So
I was talking about the raw amber last week, and
I was I was using my black light to look
at some of the beads I found, and I shined
it over and I didn't realize amber glows. Did you
know that?
Speaker 3 (31:01):
I didn't know that.
Speaker 2 (31:02):
Yeah. I thought that was pretty fascinating. So that's the Uh,
that's the tidbit of information I'm gonna leave everybody with
this week. That amber glues under black light, or at
least the amber.
Speaker 3 (31:18):
I did not know that. So you're using a black light.
Speaker 2 (31:22):
I was on looking at the beads that I found,
because a whole bunch of them glow. Yep, why not?
Speaker 3 (31:29):
Why you know? I have an amber ring, silver ring
that my mother had bought me a long time ago.
I need to find it. I don't wear it very often.
To get out of my jewelry box and test it,
you know.
Speaker 2 (31:43):
Yeah, always fun to do, so it's fun. It's funny though.
I always forget to bring it with I need to
just get one to leave it in the truck. I
think you said you do that with one of yours.
I do, I do, so you can bring it in.
Speaker 3 (31:55):
Can I always forget? Yeah, leave it in. I need
to remember to put one in my suitcase when I travel.
Speaker 2 (32:05):
Yeah, that's smart, that's smart. I have a whole bunch
of other things you should add to your suitcase two
when you travel. But yeah, I think we again when
it's just Tipsy and I and we haven't gotten out
to dig much. We're just going to keep these shows
(32:26):
a little bit shorter. So yeah, let you get on home,
because I know we're chatting with you. Well you're out.
Speaker 3 (32:41):
I am about ready to go home, and I really really
need to start doing laundry before I leave, start prepping
and slowly packing so I don't forget anything.
Speaker 2 (32:57):
I can send you a list on that as well.
You want to remember chargers headphone.
Speaker 3 (33:02):
I love I love love list.
Speaker 2 (33:06):
The only way I can do it is I have
to list it all out, and I have to start
like a week in advance writing it out, or I
forget stuff and then it's usually important stuff. All right. Well,
I hope you have a wonderful evening.
Speaker 3 (33:24):
You as well, And it's been fun catching up with
you and chatting with you, and I hope the weather
gets better.
Speaker 2 (33:31):
I can't wait to hear how dig stock went.
Speaker 3 (33:33):
So okay. I will take tons of photos and video
and we will be updating you when I get back.
Speaker 2 (33:42):
Please and thank you.
Speaker 3 (33:46):
Oh man, I wish you were there. But yeah, well
it's been great and we thank you all for listening
and hope to see you again soon and if not
see you at the next time, we hope to catch
you back at the Treasure Voarchex.
