Speaker 1 (00:10):
Couldn't ward want your back doors.

Speaker 2 (01:22):
Hey y'all, and welcome to Monday Night's Treasure Vortex with
Gypsy Jewels from YouTube's zero Discrimination, as well as her
website gypsydigs dot com and myself, Amanda Diggert. Guys, so
I am still in snowy Maine. We did have a
beautiful day today, which is it. It's awesome, but I

(01:44):
know it's gonna snow tomorrow. And hey, Gypsy, you were
you have a I just got your your picture you
sent me. It looks gorgeous down there.

Speaker 3 (01:57):
It is a perfect day. I wish I was out,
you know, metal detecting or mud marking or dump digging
or treasure hunting in some former fashion. But I'm working today,
but you know how it goes. But right now I
came outside. It's just to record this, and uh, it's

(02:17):
so gorgeous. I'm sitting under a tree just absorbing the sun.
I've got short sleeve on, so I had to snap
a photo of.

Speaker 2 (02:28):
The sun, rub it in a little, a little sunlight,
giving me give me hope for warmer weather, is what
it is.

Speaker 3 (02:36):
I hope, So I hope. So, Uh, you've got to
get to the Texas some.

Speaker 2 (02:44):
Once upon a time, I know, right, So last week,
I know we canceled. I know that you were going
your way, I was going mine. It just wasn't meant
to be. No recordings could happen. So we have like
kind of a week and a half of stuff we
can catch up on. So I know that I have

(03:05):
started seeing TikTok videos. You're in my for you page,
So I'm pretty excited by that.

Speaker 3 (03:12):
Fantastic, fantastic putting more out. I think I put one out. Well, yeah,
I've been trying to put out a couple of days.
I've got a backlog of you know, videos I can use.
I just traveling so much and sometimes I'm like, eh,
you know, I don't really have time. But when I'm

(03:34):
at the office and stuff, I have little free time
where I can just sit there and make a quick
little TikTok videos. So I posted kind of a sneak preview. Well,
let me take that back. Some of the some clips
that I post I've been posting are clips that I

(03:56):
went out. But you know how you only find like
one or two really cool fine, and you don't have
quite enough for a full full YouTube video. So I
did post a couple like that one where I think
I was dump digging and I found something cool. And
so I've got to go back through a bunch of
old video footage and see if there's some stuff. I'm

(04:17):
sure I've got tons of it that never quite made
a full video that I can use. But I kind
of posted a sneak preview yesterday of my brand new
I mean we're talking brand new YouTube videos that I
just posted like fifteen minutes ago.

Speaker 2 (04:40):
Nice.

Speaker 3 (04:41):
And so it's at the creek that I've when you
ever come to Texas, that I am taking you madwarking
over the oldcinerator. And I took a new friend and
it was her very first time evering of either. So

(05:04):
this weekend I've got to go buy Garrett and pick
up a mouth detector. And so she lives over in Dallas.
So once after I do that, what we're gonna do
is we're gonna go take out the vortex and uh,
I went, yeah, and uh, but I took her to

(05:25):
the Money Creek and she's found a few little cool
things there, and uh, I've found some cool things and
I got one little surprisea coin thingy there that you
had to watch the video and see what I found.
It was a nice level surprise. I love love it
when you get those pleasant surprises. You know those fines

(05:45):
and I know you have them all the time where
you don't know what you have until you go home
and clean it up. You know those kind looks. Yeah,
I love those. I know you have plenty of those
because you're you're like me, you don't always well number one,
sometimes you can't clean them in the field. And this

(06:06):
was a crusty old coin or token, you know, or
foreign coin. I wasn't sure what it was, and so
I soaked it yesterday in the cor and got a
nice little suppose today.

Speaker 2 (06:18):
So that's awesome, that's exciting. You can't wait to see that.
And you said that out on the video that's sup
posted today.

Speaker 3 (06:26):
Hey, yeah, yeah, I just posted today, So y'all had
to check that out and a few other videos that
I've posted more recently. If you haven't got a chance
to see the vortex in action, I've got one called
old Coinage, which was my previous the YouTube video that

(06:48):
I think I posted the previous week, and then another
one that I posted the week before that. So people
have been wanting to see the Vortext in action. And
so those two videos are the Vortext in action. So
one was a night hunt where I found the ring

(07:09):
and I love you know, being able to you know,
with that light screen. The LCD stream lighted up and
hunt at night was fabulous. And anyway, so I know,
so many people are curious about the new Vortext and

(07:31):
there is a brand new update and uh, anyway.

Speaker 2 (07:36):
I know, don't listen to that negative stuff. If you're
reading any negative stuff on Facebook, it all looks like
it's operator error. Frank, I don't know.

Speaker 3 (07:47):
It is one of the persons that posted something. I
think it was actually on my zero discrimination page. They
didn't use the chord that came with it, and the
chord that comes with that is a data cool actual
data cord. So and I think it was just you know,

(08:08):
operation error. But you know, Garrett with their amazing you
know customer service they got are all fixed up. But
just remember to be cautious, you know, pay close attention
to if you if you have if you got one
and you need to update it, just very close attention
to what you need to do to update your machine.

(08:30):
But there is a brand new update out and all
the new machines that will be released will have that
latest update, so a doubt there will be any more
updates for a long time. So anyway, you're excited. So
if anybody, if anybody wants to uh purchase one, just

(08:52):
hit me up. I'll get you a good deal on
of Vortex and uh. Anyway, speaking of war texts, I'm
going to be able to bring the uh. I'm going
to pick up another board text Friday and I'll be
able to bring my prototype too with me.

Speaker 2 (09:11):
Oh uh Carolina nice.

Speaker 3 (09:15):
And and dig Star.

Speaker 4 (09:18):
So that's exciting.

Speaker 2 (09:19):
So that try one out awesome.

Speaker 3 (09:22):
Yeah, if I want to try one out, they can
and that will be awesome. And I have ants crawling
on me.

Speaker 2 (09:33):
I I have tried the Voytex myself and it was
I think the very first prototype, and it.

Speaker 3 (09:42):
Was the very first prototype. It was.

Speaker 2 (09:46):
It was exciting, it was it was great, like I
enjoyed it, but I knew, you know, I wanted to
get it back in your hands relatively quickly because it
was well I was out with you and yeah, I
would say if yeah, he was like I think I
only had like it was the.

Speaker 3 (10:04):
Day you found your gold little tree. That day I remember.

Speaker 2 (10:07):
That yep, my little Mayan pin. I guess Mayan yep pin.

Speaker 4 (10:13):
That was so cool.

Speaker 3 (10:15):
But yeah, that was fun and it's It's come a
long way since that first prototype. But I was so
impressed with that prototype that day because we'd all went
back behind that tavern, you, me and Miguel and I
hit this iron patch out there, and when I went
back over it with the vortex, you remember that little

(10:37):
brass buckle with the carving on, the engraving on it
pulled out of that iron patch and it was screaming
at me. I was like, what, there's gotta be flat
iron or a can in there. I couldn't believe it
was that little buckle, but anyway down in the middle
of that iron patch. But anyway, I'm loving it so far.

(11:01):
I can't wait to go test it out in North Carolina.
Open for a Spanish reale, because see, wasn't it North Carolina?
That's where I got my cut real.

Speaker 1 (11:16):
With my.

Speaker 3 (11:18):
It was with mine. Let's see my apex, my garret apex.

Speaker 2 (11:25):
So that's cool, though, Does that very cool? I don't.
I don't quite.

Speaker 3 (11:36):
Open for a whole in or a bucket list, this
bucket list for this time my silver thimble. I've been
waiting for something amazing.

Speaker 2 (11:44):
You know, that would be very cool. That would be
very cool if you got the silver thimble. And who knows.
I mean, with the amount of acreage that's there, you
just got to make sure to do a little bit
of the research, which they give you that information once
you get there and right, oh, it's just you got
to pick a spot and hit it hard. And I

(12:05):
know the dig stock in North Carolina that I went to.
The problem was we would go to like one area
and it was ginormous and we spend like, you know, yeah,
an hour, and if we didn't get anything, we were like, oh,
let's go to the next one, and like.

Speaker 3 (12:24):
The next one, and you stick to the area. You know,
I agree, you know, that's that's what happened to me
and Zola. One year we went to North Carolina. Everybody
was hopping we were, they were hopping fields, and finally
we went over to this one field and it was
just you could hear all kinds of iron in there.

(12:46):
And you know, you know how those are because you
hunt those type of areas all the time, kind of
like that tavern. You know, if you just slow down,
you're gonna start pulling stuff out. Just slow down and.

Speaker 4 (13:02):
I'm hunted, yep.

Speaker 2 (13:06):
And that's we you know. I think we eventually got
on something good and plus is the artifact aspect of it,
and that's something that we traveled down there to do
so and yeah, we both got points and pottery and
it was it made it made our trip. But it

(13:27):
was also I think maybe right around the same time,
or maybe it was late February, I'm not sure, but
I know we had to get back because it was
gonna snow. And when we got to North Carolina, we
were like, oh, it's going to be warmer than home. No,
it snowed like we brought the snow with it. And
they're like, this is absolutely not, like we don't get

(13:49):
snow at this time of the year. And we're like,
we're sorry, We're sorry. If we brought it, we brought
it with us. So definitely want to make sure you
checking the weather out and layers. Layers is always the
smartest thing to go to these events wearing. But I

(14:11):
don't know, I can say was it last weekend. Last
weekend I managed to get out. I went to not
treasure hunting, like out mudlarking, or detecting, because we still
have I don't know, five feet us now and it
was we went to a new consignment place and I

(14:33):
found some really cool things, like a whole bunch of
collector pewter pins with like eagles and guitars and just
really neat things. And I haven't really looked at it
too much, but they're pretty neat. Figured i'd get that
and some of those would go in maybe the giveaway

(14:54):
bags I do. And then what else? I got a
Mercury dime tie tac but it was like cut out,
so it's the winged Liberty and it says Liberty and
the outside and the rest of it is all been
carved out. So that's pretty neat. But I love finding

(15:15):
those different spots and you go to the different vendor
tables and I saw the bottles and all marbles and
I'm like, oh my gosh. And you could spend hours
in a really good shop like that, and it's it's
fun to do when it's cold. Here, fun to do

(15:36):
when it's cold. And then what else I checked out?
So I'm I do a lot of TikTok And there
is a amber dealer on TikTok and he shows the
collection and different things like that, and I managed to

(15:59):
pick some raw amber and it's Dominican amber, and basically
it's raw because it still has like the dirt and
the basically like the rock on the outside of it
that's found, and you get pretty excited to get like
some grit sandpaper is what's used, and you can basically

(16:21):
peel the edges off with the sandpaper and then put
a light behind it and they'll glow really hoping for
maybe some bugs or feather something to do another fun
thing to kind of try. It's really not that expensive,
I found. Plus they have some really cool already polished

(16:43):
up pieces that are amazing. And I think the guy's name,
if I can remember right, is Amber Bugs. But he
does lives and has all these very cool pieces that
he shows, and yeah, I was like, you know what,

(17:06):
I bet that would be kind of fun to show.
Like my niece got to do a rock and mineral
show that I brought it to, and they had like
a whole table of they had lapidaries and they would
sit down with the kids and show them how to
actually like polish the different stones and stuff, and she
loved it. So I was like, you know what, this
might be fun, get some sandpaper and then get to

(17:31):
do it. So she could put a flashlight behind the
amber and see if there's anything in it and have
a memory of doing something fun. And then I think
that the nephew is probably almost old enough now to
go out treasure hunting with us, So that's going to
be exciting. It's going to be very exciting. So I

(17:57):
did say so on TikTok, being on TikTok for a while.
Now I have a whole bunch of my twenty twenty
four fines cleaned up, and there's a video, poorly done
videos of me actually like organizing, so like putting the
beads in the bead jar, and I show the glow

(18:18):
like the marbles that I found this year and how
they glow under the black light. And of course I
did all of that. And then today I was cleaning
out the truck, my truck, and I opened my mudlarking
bag and I'm like, oh, it's that, And I have
a container of more fines from last year. And then
there's a bag of bottles and stuff and I'm like,

(18:39):
oh gosh, I'm sure that a lot of us. You
go to open up your car wherever you know, you
kind of end up after you're detecting or mud larking
or even yard sailing, and it's just you're bound to
find more stuff that might be you had no idea

(18:59):
that you had found, and talking about treasures that you
dug that you might have left in your vehicle, and
then months down the line you go and you clean
it and find it. Yeah, that's I just got done
posting those videos of my fines cleaned up, and today
I went to clean out my truck and there was

(19:20):
in a like an entire bag of bottles that were
all dirty, and my Garrett Keyes with a whole bunch
of fines that were from last year. I'm like, damn it, how.

Speaker 4 (19:33):
Did I miss these?

Speaker 3 (19:36):
Oh gosh, I still have Okay, so inside the bag
in my vehicle because I did the wrap up up
here at the office, I put my fines back in
my one of my fines. I have two fines bags
that I used, two Garrett fines bags, and so I
still have to go home and then dump it and

(19:59):
put it in my my relicran. Sometimes I don't have
time or I forget to go do that, and so
I'll have two two two of my gyarrot bags just
full of fines, and so I'll have to dump them
in a separate container or back in my car until

(20:20):
I can go and do this and to put it
back in my relic orm, so sometimes it kind of
gets forgotten for a while in my vehicle.

Speaker 2 (20:34):
Same absolutely, same. But uh, you were talking about bringing
the vour tacks to dig Stock, so so are people
going to be able to like are you is there
a meet and greet or are you going to have
it like the Garrett Tent's going to be set up

(20:55):
so you'll have it there for people to go.

Speaker 3 (20:57):
I think there is going to be a Garrot tint.
I'm not one hundred percent sure. I know Miguel will
be there and myself and I think some other Garrett people,
but I don't think Steve or any of the other crews.
So I don't know if they're sitting up a booth
or I'm just all I know is that I'm going

(21:18):
to be there and I get to swing and I
get to show people the vortex that they want to
try it out. So I'm not one hundred percent sure,
but I do know that Garrett, of course is one
of the sponsors, so I know that they've donated stuff,
so who knows, and may be given away a vortex.

(21:39):
I really not certain, but I would fout bet there
would be as a prize.

Speaker 2 (21:47):
That's pretty good, very exciting. Plus like just the gloves,
the Garrett gloves are great. I love the Garrett keyses.

Speaker 3 (21:57):
You can never never have enough gloves, never never, always
like oh yeah, never.

Speaker 2 (22:07):
No, that's one thing.

Speaker 3 (22:09):
So was it.

Speaker 2 (22:09):
I was telling someone, I'm like, I need to start
writing a blog that's about boots because of how fast
I go through them gloves again, same thing, I go
through them so fast, and I'm sorry, but the sizes suck,
Like the sizes that you can find and the things

(22:30):
that that would work for it, they just suck. They're awful.
And then there was something else too, and I'm like, geez,
I gotta because again, like it's it's can be rather
pricey and if you're having to constantly, you know, like
there's a there's something here, you do something good with this.

Speaker 4 (22:49):
But yeah, right.

Speaker 2 (22:57):
Now, you've been doing a whole bunch to paint, and lady,
I have.

Speaker 3 (23:03):
Been a lot of painting. I find myself up at
the store that we open for my kiddos, and so
sometimes I have to work up there at the office,
and so some days I find myself there and I

(23:23):
can't get out and go treasure hunt. So I'm like,
why not paint? I miss painting, and so I've been
doing a lot of paintings lately, and I have several
that I've accumulated lately that I've painted that are for sale,
some that I've already painted. So it's a great way
for me to help fund, you know, just some of

(23:45):
these travel expenses when I want to get out, you know,
and go detecting. So it helps me out and if
there's a commission anybody would like something in particular. I
can paint just about anything, have an art degree and

(24:09):
just I always love to draw, paint, sketch, all of that.
But I've been doing a lot of acrylic paintings, but
recently I just purchased myself a water based oil paint,
which is nice. It still takes a while to dry
because it is oil based, but because it's water soluble,

(24:33):
it has the same blending capabilities as this regular oil paint,
so I'm loving it. I just painted one yesterday with it,
took a photo of it, but it's just not given
it justice right now. It's much better in person, so

(24:54):
I don't know if it just needs to finish drying.
So once I get a better photo, i'll post it
on my Facebook group if anybody's interested. It's beautiful scene
and I actually painted some flowers. I'm better at painting
people and things like that, but I gave it a

(25:14):
whirl and painted some flowers. It's very It turned out
pretty good. So excited about that, and I'll be putting
that up for sale as well as I've got a
few others that are still on my Facebook page. If
anybody's interested, or they can just contact me through my
email for my website and I'll be glad to maybe

(25:35):
do a customer one for them as well.

Speaker 2 (25:39):
Awesome, Well, I have an owl painting that you did
that's currently hanging in my new do.

Speaker 3 (25:47):
That's one of my favorites because of the colors on that. Yes,
and my favorite.

Speaker 2 (25:54):
If it's our room perfect because there's color that matches
up perfect in it, so it looks like it belongs there. Wow,
So it was meant to love it. The owl in
the room.

Speaker 3 (26:08):
I love it. Yeah, So I painted an owl not
too long ago at one of those painting fips because
it was my friend's birthday and we all met and
I decided to paint an owl. I didn't do one
of their paintings, but I just did my own. And anyway,

(26:29):
it turned out really well. I ended up selling it
as well. It's crazy.

Speaker 2 (26:37):
Did you just say you kept it for yourself?

Speaker 3 (26:41):
No, I ended up selling it as well. Somebody loved
the people love the owl.

Speaker 2 (26:47):
Yeah, owls crows, so owls crows. And then there was
something else that I noticed always goes really well. Mountains
and beaches.

Speaker 3 (26:58):
Pay me the crow for a custom one. Oh yeah, beaches.
I haven't done a beach scene in a long time.
Maybe I should do a beach next.

Speaker 2 (27:09):
Yeah, I bet a sunset or a sunrise or whatnot.
It would be gorgeous with your art artwork and your artwork.

Speaker 3 (27:21):
Yeah, I'm gonna have to try that.

Speaker 2 (27:27):
So, I don't know. I'd seen it post a.

Speaker 4 (27:29):
Little while back some beach. What did you say?

Speaker 2 (27:34):
I think this is we have a little bit of
a story play. No, you're good. I was gonna say sorry.
I'd seen it post a little while back about this
site that was gonna happen, But I think I don't know.
I tried googling it. I said to you earlier, I
don't think it's it's available yet. I don't know something
about having you know, relics and pictures like entire database,

(28:01):
but like in America, so kind of like the flows
system that's in the UK, it would be like that here.
And I was that's pretty exciting. So if anybody's heard
anything on it, or if you kind of know what
I'm talking about, just send me a message because I'd
love to pick pick the brain.

Speaker 3 (28:19):
I haven't heard anything about that. Oh is that what
you sent me?

Speaker 4 (28:23):
Yes, okay, yeah I went to that page too, and
they had some neat artifacts, but I didn't see that
particular post.

Speaker 2 (28:34):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (28:35):
The person I had posted that, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (28:37):
It went by so fast. So but yeah, it was like, oh,
that's pretty interesting. So depending on what's going on and
if that's out or whatnot, might might ask and see
if they could come on and talk about it a
little bit. But I got to reach out to do that.
And you were saying that you hope to get to

(28:59):
the beach.

Speaker 3 (29:02):
Yeah, I mean you made me think talking about beach paintings.
You know, I did get to go to the beach.
While I was in South Texas filming and.

Speaker 4 (29:13):
I did some.

Speaker 3 (29:16):
Playing on the beach with my vortex, and I found
a lot of modern coins, no jewelry, but it was
a little windy then, and I am just dying to
get back when you know it's not so cold like
right now, it's starting to warm up, the perfect beach time.

(29:39):
So I'm dying, dying.

Speaker 2 (29:41):
A girl, Yes, yes, And actually it's even funnier is
I was just talking recently to someone and I'm like,
you know, it's at the end of February right now,
and I have not gotten out at all in twenty
twenty five yet, which is unheard of.

Speaker 3 (30:02):
Oh so wrong.

Speaker 2 (30:07):
The last thirteen years I would have been SeaGlass hunting.
I'd still be out mudlarking. I would definitely be spending
a heck of a lot more time at the different
vendor spots and even detecting. And I know none of it.
Haven't gotten to do any of it really, except for
last weekend or the weekend before that. But hoping here

(30:29):
soon things will start melting and we could get back out.

Speaker 3 (30:35):
Get back out, I hope, so I hope.

Speaker 2 (30:39):
So for you, I know this is a wacky Wednesday
that we're going to be airing this at SO and
then hopefully we'll get back to maybe Monday. We'll get
back to Monday, and I know that we haven't had
a guest and it's it's been okay, it's been okay,

(31:02):
But I am sure we'll have something to.

Speaker 3 (31:06):
Once we get on on a regular schedule and I
get back from traveling, when things settle, we can, we'll
definitely have some guests lined up.

Speaker 2 (31:17):
