Speaker 1 (00:13):
Couldn't worry, not want your back and doors all. Hey'all,
(01:21):
and welcome to Monday's Treasure Vortex with Gypsy Jewels from
YouTube's zero Discrimination, as well as your website gypsydigs dot
com and myself a meda digger. To guys, I do
have to say, Gypsy is a traveling gypsy today. So
we might hear some background noise, but usually it's okay,
(01:42):
and you might hear a little bit of a wheeze.
For me, I got a little bit of a cold
thing going on, so hoping to kick it before the
end of the week, but hey, you'd never know. So hey, Gypsy,
how are you doing?
Speaker 2 (01:56):
Hey, I'm done good. I'm on the road again, and
today I've come from Missouri and I've already passed through
Arkansas and I just hit the Texas UH state line
just about five ten minutes ago, not even not even
(02:16):
quite two minutes ago. Anyway, So back in.
Speaker 1 (02:19):
Texas spending your whole day traveling, Yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:25):
Pretty much. I was hoping to meet up with some
friends while in Arkansas, but they were running a little
late behind me.
Speaker 1 (02:36):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (02:37):
They were going to UH. They had asked me to
go Crystal dig over in Arkansas, and so I thought
I might get to go do that, but they were
going to get there too late. And we're going to
Crystal dig to tomorrow and I was really hoping to
get you know, if I if I was able to
get a little Crystal digging in would have been today
(02:59):
and and then I could have either went home tonight
or woke up really early in the morning and got
back because it's just got so much to do getting home.
But so I missed out on that. But it's going
to be back in Texas. And it was another amazing
fun trips.
Speaker 1 (03:20):
Now this was into the show me hunt.
Speaker 2 (03:24):
Yeah, show me proms hin and it was a blast
as usual. I had a blast last year, got to
come again this year and there was a lot more people.
I think there was over three hundred people there this year,
and it was a great, great time. You know how
(03:46):
fun it is getting together with so many like minded,
you know, people that do this. It was us and
getting together and just just the camaraderie, you know, and
the friendships. And I've met some new friends that's kind
(04:07):
of just gotten into the hobby. I think her husband
had only been in it for like two years. I
met them in Arkansas and then now she's really getting
into it. Met them in Arkansas, and then they came
they live in Missouri and they came to the Science
so got to see them again. It's always nice meeting
(04:29):
those new friends and forming those friendships and relationships and
bonds that will last, you know, like years in mine
and you know, meeting in the hobby and the hobby
is what brought us together, you know, and brought this
podcast together.
Speaker 1 (04:47):
Yeah. Absolutely, absolutely, Well that sounds like a lot of fun.
Speaker 2 (04:53):
Yeah, So I was sad that I didn't get to
do the Crystal Hunt, but I've I had said to
Blast and you know, there was several there from Garrett.
This time I came on my own, out of my
own pocket. I wasn't sponsored for this hunt by Garrett.
But at the same time, I'm still there representing Garrett
(05:15):
because people had come to me with questions, you know,
about what's going on or you know, uh, you know,
when can I catch in my my prize token, you
know that kind of thing. So even though I wasn't
working at the Garrett booth or or this wasn't a
sponsored trip by Garrett for me, I you know, it's
(05:38):
still an ongoing thing. So anyway.
Speaker 1 (05:45):
By yourself, you so you didn't end up getting to
dig crystals today because they were behind you. So you're
headed back.
Speaker 2 (05:53):
Yeah, So headed back and going to try to catch
up on some other things and maybe try to high
the live this week. I'm I'm going to try to
at least every other week and if I can every week,
because it was amazing how many people I met up
with this line that said, hey, I caught your live
(06:14):
last week and keep them up, you know, and I'm
really you know, I talked to a couple other YouTubers there,
and one guy that I interviewed that he hasn't had
his channel very long, but he's already up to like
thousands subscribers, so he's starting his monetization and he's doing
(06:38):
the live streams. And he was in my life last time.
I know you helped monitor, you know, you're one of
my monerators. And but but yeah, it was nice, you know,
talking to him and about the lives, and and I
(06:59):
talked to other people, you know, they they visit these
lives and I really missed that interaction with fellow diggers
and fans and stuff. And I had several people stop
and say hey, I got your live last week, and
I just really hope you keep it up. So I'm
going to really try to do that every week if possible,
(07:22):
But I doubt it was as much traveling. I will
be every week, but definitely try to every other week.
And I know I'm behind again a week on my yeah,
my videos, but this week I'll get another video up.
(07:44):
I know that I've got a kind of a backlog,
so I've got plenty of content. It's just a matter
of fun and the time to sit down and you know,
get that done anyway. Yes, and a few Civil War bullets,
a fuel odds and ends, and I did get a
(08:07):
certain button that I was really excited about, so that'll
be in that video when that comes out. But there
were some really neat fines. I'm sure people be seeing
people post those fines from that that hunt this weekend,
and it amazing time.
Speaker 1 (08:26):
Was it strictly seated or.
Speaker 2 (08:30):
Now they had seated and natural and so this area,
you know, there is a lot of history in that area. Again,
a lot of this property was some of the properties
from the last year that was already hunted from last year.
But but the main two fields where the main seated
(08:56):
hunts happened. You know, there was tokens found from last year.
They gave them a little prize, you know, something returning
those last year tokens in as well. And uh but
there's you know some natural there's some natural old home
sites and stuff, and there was a bit of land
that opened up that wasn't available last year to hunt.
(09:19):
So I think they're thinking about next year. They're working
on two different news spots, just trying to get welcome
in find out where they're going to have this.
Speaker 1 (09:29):
So, oh that's awesome. So are you on a little
bit of a reprieve before.
Speaker 2 (09:41):
Yeah, just a little bit before I come to see
you and go to Maine and bone so short little retrieves.
Speaker 1 (09:54):
Yeah, well that's good. A gaving a break is always great.
And like you were saying, you know, you're trying to
do a every week. So what perhaps either Tuesday or
Thursday this week you'll have a live and you got
your videos that come out, We've got the podcast, and uh,
it might it might be nice to have like a
couple of weekends. But who knows, right, I mean, you
(10:17):
might want to knock on you. I know you're driving
right now. And we go knock on wood, but I'll
knock on wood for you that you kind of get
a little bit of a break. I know, I this weekend,
I got a break. It was like the first time
I spent an entire day like not doing a single
(10:38):
thing because of the uh we had freezing rain and
snow and basically it was raining but it was turning
to ice. So everything was just it was so it
was the first time, but it was needed, you know,
it was okay. You know, it's our rate. If nature
forces me to sit in the recliner for the day,
(10:59):
and because it doesn't happen, I can't sit still like
I can't. I always feel like I have to be
doing something. So I couldn't do anything. So I think
I scrolled for a little bit and nap for a
little bit. I came in and looked at, you know,
(11:20):
putting together the goodie bags for Bone. So I'm figuring
out what goes where. I'm realizing, oh gosh, I don't
have stickers, So I'm looking into sticker companies. If anybody
has any advice on some sticker companies, that would be great,
definitely send it my way. And uh yeah, yeah, I
didn't even get out no thrifting. No, I do have
(11:44):
to say, our town has this shop. All right, we
have a dump that you break your trash to every week.
We don't have like bags that we put out or
anything like that. Oh wow, you bring your trash to
the domp, you bring your recycling, and on top of it,
like you can bring your metal. I don't bring metal
(12:06):
because I obviously bring it to the metal place to recycle.
But there's a place that you can go and say,
you have stuff that you don't use anymore, but like good,
you can leave it there. And it's like a swap
a swap shop. So people do stuff. And so I
did last week, poke my head in there and got
(12:26):
to look around. And I haven't gotten to do that
in a while. And I'm also picking up a whole
bunch of palettes to do stuff with. Come uh spring
to plant. Yeah, I figured I'd make a trellis with
one yep yep to guard.
Speaker 2 (12:43):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (12:44):
And then one looks like a futon like it has
the bolt and it it actually like tilts and I
can I can actually maybe put a different bolt in it.
It's got a hinge and it will turn into like uh,
like a futon, a big oversized futon. So all I
need is a cushion and I can have an outdoor Yeah,
(13:08):
I can have like an outdoor futon. I was like, Oh,
that's free, neat, put it up near the fire. Ooh,
So I guess that's kind of like treasure hunting.
Speaker 2 (13:20):
It is. It is because anytime you can upside goal
anything and do that and take some something that would
normally be thrown away as trash, you know, to me,
it's a different kind of treasure. You know, I'm saying yep.
Speaker 1 (13:36):
Yep in this place like people bring their kids toys.
Actually it was funny because one day I was taking
pictures of a they had, like this island for a
kitchen that had wheels in the edge and like the
leaf that would come up that you could do stuff on,
and the drawers and whatnot. And I was like, oh,
this is actually really nice. And so I was taking
(13:56):
pictures and running it by family members, going hey, you know,
and there was somebody watching me. Well they hadn't responded,
so I was like, oh, you know what, I'll go
do my trash and then i'll come back around the
minute I went got away from it, it was immediately
snatched up, and I'm like, okay, yeah, it was definitely
a good a good find. Didn't get to I should
(14:21):
have thrown it in the back of the truck, but whatever. Ah,
But yeah, big furniture gets left glassware, candles, toys on occasion,
Like you can find some pretty neat stuff. I've left
some stuff, like, you know, I've got a bunch of
those duplicate bottles that I don't know. I don't want
(14:44):
to throw them away, don't want to put them back
in the dump because then I'll just keep finding them.
So I was like, oh, you know, I'll leave those
at the second at the swap shop, and they're gone now,
so somebody must have liked them. So I'm like, all right,
and now yep, and now what I do and you
know it too. When I'm out mudlarking and whatnot, there's
(15:05):
like a couple of different spots that if I find
duplicated bottles I already have or whatnot, we leave them
in a certain area so anybody else that might not
have them can go and have the opportunity to pick
from it, because I mean, how many Fasts and Baker's
bottles do you need?
Speaker 2 (15:27):
Right you know, and that's a really cool idea. I
really like that, and you know some of us can
do some of that too with metal detecting, something I've
always thought was really cool, you know, like well fun
like when in the summer, especially when hunting around like
(15:49):
at the beaches and stuff in the swim areas. You know,
I find a lot of toy cars and stuff, and
you can donate those two you know, these children. You know,
there's so many different things that you can donate some
of those fines to and yeah, bring and donate to
(16:09):
different different Yeah, so so many cool things and you
can do with some of those fines. Yeah, keep the
throne them away, keep them out of the trash, keep
them out of the dump you Okay.
Speaker 1 (16:27):
At least I try. I try. There's a lot of things,
you know, I'll go through and be like, oh but
this is so good, and then everyone's like, no, I
don't need it. I don't need one or bo. So yeah,
that's what we tried to do. Yeah, and unless there's
a yard sale, and we I learned my lesson last year,
and trying to do a yard sale before Memorial Day
(16:50):
is weatherwise no fun. And nobody seems to go to them.
So ah, so gotta wait till Memorial Day. There you go.
Speaker 2 (17:03):
Yeah, after Memorial Day is a really good time for
you know, garage sales. People love doing their spring you know,
later spring planning and start for mid spring planning.
Speaker 1 (17:16):
I guess, yeah, yep, yep, I know. We definitely have
started on the room that you first entered the house.
You've seen it before. That's got my the cash wrap
with the jewelry case and yeah, the displays and stuff.
I've started going through all that and moving the detectors around.
I actually I loaned a detector out and I might
(17:39):
loan another detector out here soon. So getting others to
be able to I'm like, it's just sitting there.
Speaker 2 (17:44):
It needs people to use it, right, yeah, yeah, so exactly.
Speaker 1 (17:51):
I'm going to try that.
Speaker 2 (17:53):
I'm gonna try that.
Speaker 1 (17:54):
And other than that, I mean, we're in a it's
I think today, what is the last day of March?
Speaker 2 (18:00):
H So that's crazy, right, where did March go? And
boy did it? You know, it came in like a
lion And that's really it's been kind of going out
like a lion from he had never Really today's not
(18:21):
so bad, but boy, yesterday and Missouri. The wind kicked
up and this giant storm rolled through and we got hail.
It was crazy, really, yeah, it was. It was insane.
We just finished and and Mitch, they heard the storm
was coming in, so they pushed the uh prizes and
(18:43):
the drawings and all that up for an hour, which
I'm glad they did or everybody would have been caught
in that. And we had went, uh some friends there
had went after hot hot Mess Fishing and some other
YouTubers and friends from the hunt to a local place
(19:06):
to eat. And then that's when that storm rolled in
and there was massive help and a terrible thunderstorm and
even a tornado watch. But then something was reported about
a funnel almost coming down that they so we kind
of went into a warning and boy like the lady
(19:27):
that worked there at the restaurant was scared and it
was like it was a little scary. I mean, it
got the wind kicked up and it sounded terrible, terrible outside.
So even got a few little hail things on my car,
and I know Hot Mess Fishing she uh had a
(19:49):
rental car that got pretty bad worse than mine. That's
held damage, so its not good. Yeah, I can't imagine
being out in the field. If, of course it was,
we would have already been at the part doing the
prizes by then. But can you imagine being out in
(20:11):
a field and uh, I'm sure we've been treasure hunters
that that's happened, where a storm just blew in. If
they weren't, you know, paying attention and getting hit by
those massive ail things, that's just terrible. Can't even imagine knocking.
Speaker 1 (20:31):
Out, Yeah, I can't. I can't imagine that. Yeah, especially
travel like say, traveling to one of those events and
then having that happened. Yeah, that's that's kind of scary.
Speaker 2 (20:42):
Right. Well, it was on the tail end though the hunt.
For the most part. The weather was really really nice,
really nice. Can't complain about the weather it was. It
was really good. And we did get some rain. We
did get some rain, but it wasn't that bad, you
know what I'm saying. So one day we got a
little at the midday and Kle had to grab our
(21:03):
rain jackets and stuff, and it got a little chilly,
But other than that, it was great.
Speaker 1 (21:10):
It's fine.
Speaker 2 (21:10):
Now, one thing I will say, go ahead, I was
just gonna say, remember what we were saying about last
last year, I told you I had all those ticks. Yeah,
I even sprayed this year and I still ended up
with ticks. But yeah, I found another one on me
(21:31):
this morning, so I got a triple check again when
I get home. Ah, well, there was some seed texts,
but I got the last year I got it was
more of the seat texts and some of a few
of the bigger ones. This year was more of the
bigger ones and uh just a few of the seed texts.
(21:54):
So it was kind of opposite this year. But even
with that spray and I still that's not as much.
So that was good.
Speaker 1 (22:03):
Still got Now we're using like deep woods off or
using the Promethean.
Speaker 2 (22:09):
I think this time I had some of the Prometheans,
but which did help. But you know how you don't
quite get it all spray, you know, and if you're
going to be in the woods at any time, they
can find a way.
Speaker 1 (22:27):
Oh yeah, unless you're taping your cuffs and you're taping.
Speaker 2 (22:30):
Your Yeah, and I didn't bother doing that, you know
this time. But anyway, yep, that happened, but it wasn't
as bad, Thank goodness.
Speaker 1 (22:42):
That is good. I was gonna say, I know you
were talking about ticks. Well, are the are the snakes
in your area all a week now?
Speaker 2 (22:50):
Yeah, they're pretty much all the way. I haven't really
seen any yet. I haven't been on that many adventures
is yet in Texas, but they were already out in Missouri.
They were talking about just be extra careful for snakes
because even like Joe was telling me about, uh, he
(23:17):
was out hunting metal detecting with a friend and he
was like, oh, yeah, it's still cool enough and and
blah blah blah blah, they're ain't they're they're not quite
out yet, you know. And then sure enough, this big
snakeist I mean, he turned around and boom, it was
(23:37):
chasing after him. It was it was a giant snake
and it was a bad thing. Like, oh my goodness.
So we were extra careful.
Speaker 1 (23:47):
You know.
Speaker 2 (23:47):
But I didn't see any snakes, and uh, just the ticks.
Thank goodness.
Speaker 1 (23:59):
The nice weather this weekend. I did get messages from
friends in New England even and they were like, oh
I put it out digging. I'm like, must be nice.
And then we saw videos and pictures and everyone's out digging.
John kind of looked at me, it was like, are
we the only ones with bad weather, and I'm like,
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (24:22):
It's like me and Texas right now. Right now, there's
hardly a cloud in the sky. I see some way
in the distance. We're kind of the direction I'm heading,
but not bad so. But I was told that in
the forecast for the next three days it sposed to rain.
Where I'm at, I'm hoping not. I can say day.
(24:45):
But everything was beautiful and green right now, and we've
had plenty of rain, so I don't mind one day,
but I really don't want three days of rain. I
just really don't. I'm like, rain, if it's going to
pour down, rain and just rain good one day all day,
I'm good with that.
Speaker 1 (25:05):
Yeah, well, you got to just make sure you keep
on traveling get home safe. I know this is we
haven't really had the longer shows like we were having
in the past when we had guests. I think this
is okay for right now with the Gypsy's crazy schedule,
(25:29):
and hopefully you all listening are okay with this. I
know there is still a live chat. I've been in it.
So this airs tonight at eight pm. It's currently four
thirty Eastern Standard time on Monday, recording it earlier and
then it airs. It airs a little bit later, but
(25:50):
the chat is still happening. If you click on the link,
it will bring you to the Treasure of Vortex where
it streams, and then just scrolled down and the chat
is there. And I know there's been a lot of
you in chat. It looks like some of you have
gotten out digging and had some awesome fines. I know
that there were a couple other hunts this weekend as well.
(26:10):
I think the Carolina has had a haunt. I think
there was a big bottle show in Maryland this weekend.
I think don't quote me, don't quote me, but yeah,
I mean, definitely visit us in chat. We try to
get in there too. You know, I'm not a huge
(26:33):
fan of listening to myself, but I do like, I
do like chatting with all of you, So I tried
to do that. We'll see about tonight because I am
feeling pretty stuffed up and going to try to get
on top of it before.
Speaker 2 (26:50):
Yeah, kind of need to rest a little.
Speaker 1 (26:53):
I did all weekend.
Speaker 2 (26:56):
Oh yeah, you kind of did get a little cat
naps too.
Speaker 1 (27:01):
Yeah, And I think I'm like, oh sure, the one time,
I like, sort of stop doing the nine million things
I'm doing. I'm like, oh, I started to not feel well,
so see I should have just kept going. Oh boy,
but it was great kitchen back up with you. I
look forward to seeing you live this week, whether it's
(27:24):
whether you decide it's Tuesday or Thursday, we get the update.
I think by being subscribed to your YouTube channel, zero discrimination,
and I think you do a post as well, probably
on Facebook, and so I'll be.
Speaker 2 (27:37):
Doing a post on Facebook and probably, like I think,
I don't automatically post on Instagram as well, if you
follow me there, and I'll try to post on TikTok.
I can't guarantee that. It spends on how much time
I have. And but yeah, make sure you're a subscriber
(28:01):
to my channel and you will get that notification one ie.
Schedule that so with that little bell and be sure
follow and subscribe that way you won't miss my lives
because I would love to chat with you. And anyway, well,
(28:21):
it's been fun catching up and you have a great week, Amanda,
and I will catch you all next time.
Speaker 1 (28:33):
That sounds good. I hope you all have a great week.
If you're getting out finding treasure. Make sure to share
it with us. We want to see it, yeah, we do,
liv vicariously.
Speaker 2 (28:46):
Right to the weather clears. All right, Well you all
have a great rest of your week and happy hunting.
Goodbye all
