Speaker 1 (00:08):
Nil Man couldn't word what your back doors.

Speaker 2 (01:19):
Hi, y'all, and welcome to the Treasure Vortex Podcast with
Gypsy Jewels from YouTube's zero Discrimination, as well as her
website gypsydigs dot com, and myself Amenda Digger Deguyze. I
know tonight Gypsy and I are just reconnecting after I
know we both had very fun weekends out and about

(01:40):
and currently Gypsy is the traveling Gypsy, so we have
her from Live on the Road. So, hey, Gypsy, how
are you this evening?

Speaker 3 (01:52):
Hey, I'm doing good, doing good. Just sorry but to
turn up here and I want to make sure I
don't lose my no no turn New York. But doing great.
Just the traveling here. Oh, I hope this is the exit.
We will see just one moment.

Speaker 2 (02:15):
Well, awesome, awesome, Will you take that turn? I will
get everybody into what I've been up to. I guess
this past weekend, so I headed to Vermont for kk Strong,
which is a fundraiser to support Karen Kaseopski. She is
a breast cancer survivor and I think she's going through

(02:37):
her at the radiation. The last radiation for the time
being is tomorrow, So if everybody can please have well
wishes and thoughts and kind of send them out there
for her and then any leftover. I think she was
sharing with the veterans in her community, and she does
do so much for the people in her community to

(02:59):
be quite frank. So yeah, we headed up there and
Raymond Jones and Theresa the Treasure Hunter flew in, and
Charlie Harley from the Heritage Drilla Hunter, he was there.
Let's see John by John which is Digfoot, and then

(03:20):
we had John Flx and his wife. We had Odra
the Jersey History Hunter. Jannie Lynn came in, and then
I saw Ron Rossetti at the fundraiser as well, and
all a good group of people. Was a lot of fun.
This is our first time to airbnb, so it was interesting.

(03:41):
It was kind of like a warehouse and everybody had
their own room and their own bathroom as part of
the room, and then there was a big kitchen, a
big dining room, and then like a loft that everyone
could hang out with with the big TV and couches
and stuff. So we got in on Thursday and I

(04:01):
think everybody most everybody else caught it on Thursday, and
then Friday morning we had bright and early and bushy
tailed and basically detected until oh, I don't even know,
five thirty, so my first time detecting or second time
detecting since bone this year. So I am. I was

(04:23):
very rusty, but knocked it out of the park. Found
some really cool stuff. And yeah, but I sent you, Yeah,
I sent you pictures. They probably uh sent me the service.
I did not have service. So I had tried multiple times,
well in Vermont to send stuff and who knows in

(04:45):
Alas and.

Speaker 3 (04:46):
Some stuff and I didn't know if you got it
it birst yo.

Speaker 2 (04:50):
So I did record a lot of stuff and I'll
have to edit it later and put it on. But
I ended up getting like you know how you have
like the oil lantern metal pieces that kind of go
with it. Yeah, where it has like the shield and whatnot.
This was a very intricate one of those with grapes

(05:12):
and flowers. It was yeah, I saw that, yep. And
then let's see, I got a pocket watch, a bridle
rose I think a backle of some sort or a
bracelet with like a moon on it, no idea, some

(05:34):
some crazy stuff, part of an oil, part of an
oil burning lamb, some hand forge tools, a couple of buttons.
I did get a general service button, and that was
just on the first day. Like I filled a plate
on the first day and I just but you know,
I love finding those hot iron spots, which there were

(05:55):
quite a few, and then I just griped the heck
out of them. I go one way, I go and
other way, and I could spend all day doing that,
and people and and the you know, other diggers were like, oh,
let's go here. I'm like okay, and then yep, and
then I'd find another patch of iron and then people
were like, all right, we're gonna leave, and I'm like, no,

(06:17):
this is so good. And it was good because I
did hang back a little bit, so I got to
dig the second iron patch with KK and Audra and
we all started finding stuff and that's always fun because
and then I was like, ah, I shouldn't have left.
It was so good here, though I you know me,

(06:39):
I didn't actually do that. In my head, I thought
it like, this is why you don't leave, And it
was just it was like a Rinston repeat weekend, except
for different locations. And on Saturday there was the big
benefit for KK and Autumn City played and Dan Parks

(07:01):
and John John actually like they called him the headliner.
He ended the show, which is which is pretty funny. Yeah,
he did really good. It was fun to want. But
you know, I am his biggest fan, so.

Speaker 3 (07:20):
I love it. That was so awesome.

Speaker 4 (07:23):
I'm so glad he got to play me too.

Speaker 3 (07:26):
Did he Metal Detectio?

Speaker 2 (07:28):
Yep, yep he did. He got out Friday, so everybody
got out basically all day Friday and then Saturday morning,
mid day Saturday, because the benefit was Saturday night. We
went back early and John Flex and his wife Tracy,
they headed out on their own because it was their anniversary,
but everybody met back up later for the show. And

(07:52):
then on top of it, because we headed out early
and Charlie Harley and Raymond and Teresa were still all
digging and there we're going to meet up with us later.
While they got back and John was taking a nap,
so I looked at Teresa and Judy, which is Charlie's wife,
and I'm like, hey, there's a big Crystal Mineral and

(08:12):
Fossil show down the street, like six minutes down the street.
I'm like, will you guys come with me? And they're
like okay, Yeah, So we went there and killed about
an hour. Yeah, it was so much fun. It was
a lot of fun, a lot of fun. Picked up
some cool stuff. I got a it's called blueberry something

(08:32):
and it looks like a blueberry and it's a gem
that instead of forming like a crystal in a pocket,
it forms like a round blue around blue ball and
it looks like a blueberry. So I got one of those,
and yeah, so that was a lot of fun. And

(08:53):
then we got out to another home that Saturday morning
and I think KK ended up digging a nineteen forty
you walk her half dollar. John dug a rosie. And
this is a there's a story that there's you know this,
The woman back who owned this home shot a man

(09:16):
trying to steal her tomatoes from her garden, and it's
been known that she hunts, u haunts, haunts her garden.
And so we were there and the gardens are gorgeous,
absolutely stunning, and John ended up dating a toy pistol

(09:37):
in the garden. It's a it's a cast so it
is like a nineteen forties yeah toy, yep, three yep,
it's intact. He dug it intact. It's it's a pretty
little thing. But yeah, we were all joking that must
have been the gun, you know, joking around like, oh,

(09:57):
there's the gun that and then what else. Oh. Yeah.
So we dug Sunday morning before I hit the road
back home. And it's crazy because the state there, you know,
Vermont is really not that big, but it seems like
half the state's gotten a lot of rain and the
other half hasn't. So the where we dug on Friday

(10:22):
and Saturday was like cutting into butter and where we
tried where we dug on Sunday was like digging concrete.
And they were like, yeah, we haven't gotten rain in
like eight weeks. I'm like, but your neighbor like an
hour away. It's like. That was pretty but walking in

(10:43):
this field, the soil was so dry and it's and
we're I think we're closer to New York and it's
clay like that. It was cracked. You could see these
just long, deep cracks in the dirt and that's how
dry it was. That's pretty crazy, it is, But yeah,

(11:05):
I had a great time. I think we ended up
raising I think they said twenty five hundred or twenty
seven hundred just the night of the fundraiser and I
don't think that includes the actual I think there was
a GoFundMe as well.

Speaker 3 (11:20):
Wait yeah and fantastic.

Speaker 2 (11:24):
Yeah. So then we drove back last night and got
home like and managed to unload the car ten minutes
before the ginormous storms came in. So we lucked out
on that. Oh wow, but I did see you sent
me some pictures.

Speaker 3 (11:38):
You're always getting.

Speaker 2 (11:40):
Yeah, absolutely, uh my favorite of types of keys.

Speaker 3 (11:49):
Yes, I indeed. So I had to drop my youngest
son off. He was going on vacation with some of
his buddies. You know, graduated school from so when popped
him off in the Austin area, then hollered at my
friend Zola, which I'll know her from the podcast and

(12:10):
probably some past hunts and stuff, and I said, hey,
I'm and I had to head to Austin. You want
to go dig in somewhere and she's like like yeah.
So stayed at her house two nights, and that first
evening got in. I met her at a local little
hotspot that I used to go to where I had

(12:33):
found an old dump and I had found the dump
while I was meloditating actually in the river, and then
I had seen where there was something I kind of
followed it up the side and then I stumbled upon
the film and I think it's possibly an old railroad
dump because of stuff that I've found in there.

Speaker 2 (12:56):
Well.

Speaker 3 (12:57):
Anyway, so I had showed her a couple of years
back where that was, and she went by herself, I
think once or maybe twice. Usually was always with me,
and looks like, you know, some other people had discovered
it before as well and had come there several times.

(13:19):
But I've been a lot of flooding in the area,
which is not the area where there was a bunch
of people that passed. I'm actually headed right now. I'm
on my way to Currville and I'll tell more about
that in a minute, but where they had the big
flood disaster there. But anyway, yeah, we went out there,

(13:43):
and turns out, you know, with the water that the
rain that they had had, it washed a lot of stuff.
And so literally she was standing right in front of me,
and I looked over by her feet seat and there's
what appears to be a key, the end of a

(14:04):
key sticking out, and I'm like, oh my gosh, and
so of course I video it, and then she's freaking
out because it's a whole big giant grass skeleton key
and she's like, oh my gosh. Anyway, and she's like,
I hate you, you know, joking of course. But then

(14:28):
I turn around and I find another one. So I
found two right there, and it was just quite amazing.
And then I ended up turning around and finding two
toys cast iron well what one was the half of

(14:49):
a train? And then another one I think I think
you's a photo of that one I found. I think
it's a h policeman. Yeah, it's a policeman on an
old motorcycle. I think it's a policeman because there was
a touch of blue paint on the top of them

(15:10):
in the way his hat looks I'm guessing a policeman.
And I haven't looked any of this up yet, so
I don't know, so anyway, uh yeah, and then I
found part of a wind up one that was torn
to shreds. There's probably some car, but anyway, you know,
the wind up toys, one of those, I found parts

(15:33):
of one right by where I found that toy, So then, yeah,
it was just wonderful. And then Sola dug some emboss bottles,
got them on video, and I dug a few bottles.
Nothing that exciting because I was really looking for a
metal because that's what I do. Not that I don't

(15:57):
love fun in the bottles, you know that.

Speaker 2 (16:00):
Yeah, it's funny. We were just talking about the fact
that with bottles you have to have a lot of room.

Speaker 3 (16:07):
You really do, and she was in a good pot
spot for that, and I was just kind of more
or less scraping. I was just scraping. I wasn't digging
like she was. So anyway, yeah, and some other little
great little items found the clay marble, and it was

(16:28):
just an epic or to me it was epic. I mean,
I know there's not gold or silver found, but to me,
it was just a very fun great to get back,
you know, with my friend Zoa and just get out
and dig. And so we had a blast and we
were filtering from head to toe and went back to

(16:52):
her house and I stayed the night. And then the
next day we got up and we had messaged our
friend Barren and met up with our friend Darren, and
we went metal detecting, kind of be bumping around, found
a few odds and ends, and then we found we

(17:13):
went to another little small dump and I dog like
a button and a few odds and ends, and then
after that we kept going, well we should head back
to back to the doves Warzola and I had been
if Saren wanted to go, and he's like, yeah, but
before we go up the road, they had totally demolished

(17:37):
this old place Gape and it was just kind of
the ground where it had kind of where they had
ripped it all out, was still you know, all torn
up and everything. So we decided we wanted to go
hit it, and so we before we went over there,
and we did and I found a silver plated spoon

(17:57):
there and so did she. All they've been in there while. Yeah,
we found of course marn coins, and then we kept
finding pieces of the old placecape that originally was there.
And anyway, we were getting ready to leave and I'm like, hey, there,

(18:17):
and you want to try out my vortex and we
were just gonna walk to the car. I mean, he's
just so he could at least swing it and get
a feel for it. He got a hit right before
you get to the car, near where the gate is,
and he's like, well, it's hit to low tone, but
who knows, it could be gold or you know, and

(18:39):
I'm like, yeah, it's probably his trash, you know. But
he dug it and it was this little charm and
it did have gold gilding on It wasn't gold, but
it did have gold guilding on it. So he dug
a little charm with the vortexs. He was so excited
and so it got that on video. And anyway, after that,
we drove over to our other dump and had a blast.

(19:04):
I found two more clay marbles. I think Zola found
a clay marble. Zola found one of her favorite little
she likes. She collects the embossed what do you call them,
the sample size bottles, and so she found a sample
size bottle and so that made her she was happy camper.

Speaker 2 (19:31):
And what else.

Speaker 3 (19:33):
We all just found lots of stuff. We picked up
a reuranium glass. All the uranium glass I found I
gave to Baron because he didn't have any and he
wanted some nice so he could make him a little
glowy glowy something. So gave that to him. And then
I did end up finding part of some more cast toys.

(19:57):
I found another half to a train, which I'm hoping
it fits the other piece. That would be amazing you
never know, and I haven't checked yet. And then I
found part of a half of a car that has
a driver on it, but he's headless, so I'm calling

(20:19):
the headless driver. But anyway, it was fun. It's still
cool to find. And I know we've talked about this before,
but it's like, you know, John finding that toy gun.
It's it's something so cool about finding the toys. Oh
and I did find a creepy doll arm, which is

(20:41):
part of a toy. But you know, there's just something
so cool. Think about the last kid that played with that.

Speaker 2 (20:48):
Yeah, Teresa got a doll arm as well.

Speaker 3 (20:51):
Well.

Speaker 2 (20:52):
I actually really there was a dump and I was like, nope,
I'm here to meddle detect, And really I should have
gone over to the dump for a little bit, but
I always do it in reverse because you know, if
it's somewhat cool out, i'd rather detect, and then as
it gets hotter is when I want to go, you know,
play in the dump, right right. But yeah, those doll

(21:14):
arms always fun to find, Always fun to.

Speaker 3 (21:17):
Find, all arms, doll eggs, the paces heads. I still
like it when you can find a whole one though.

Speaker 2 (21:25):
Oh yeah, Charlottes or something.

Speaker 3 (21:28):
Those are fun to find.

Speaker 2 (21:29):
Absolutely absolutely. I know that some of the videos are
already getting posted over on TikTok. I think FLX already
has a video and that's day one morning of stuff
people found. So that was fun. So I know that
there'll be there'll be more videos coming out soon of
different finds that we found, and eventually I'll edit my

(21:53):
I do feel like I don't know. I I think
perhaps because I have I had kicked energy drinks for
like over a month and then basically odd on energy
drinks this past weekend and then the lack of sleep
and then just beating my joints, like beating them that. Yeah. Yeah,

(22:18):
I'm like, oh my gosh, my shoulder and my knees,
what the heck. I will definitely be getting out again
soon because I can't get this rusty again because this
is this is no bore.

Speaker 3 (22:33):
Yeah, it's miserable trying to get back when you haven't
been out in that long because especially to you know
what the older we we are, but you've had these
surgeries and stuff and yeah, sippers, it's rough on the

(22:53):
old body.

Speaker 2 (22:54):
Mm hmm. Now I have a question for you, and
I don't know if if Karen's talking about it or
if you know anything or whatnot, but I'm seeing all
of the other manufacturers are are going to have to
be increasing their prices on everything.

Speaker 3 (23:10):
The tariffs.

Speaker 2 (23:11):
Yeah, how have you heard anything from Garrett on it
or anything you're you could share? Are they still everything
good there?

Speaker 3 (23:20):
So everything's good with Garrett because because they are made
in the USA, so we don't have to worry about tariffs.
If you're ordering you know, of course within the USA,
you won't have to worry anything about that now. XP
is one of the main ones, and I think also
well all the others if you think about it, the

(23:42):
brands that have come up and are bigger now everyone
is made overseas. So you have Garrett made in the USA,
then you have XP, you have Turkey, Docta and Nocta,

(24:06):
and then you have mind Lab which is made in Australia,
so they're all imported. So yes, those will go up.
I think it's a good thirty percent.

Speaker 2 (24:17):
So if you.

Speaker 3 (24:18):
Need to purchase one, especially while we've got stuff in stocks,
I would do it like asap because it's it's I
don't know it maybe before the end of the month,
so you've got to uh, so free to message me
and I see what kind of price I can get
you before. But from what I know, all the other

(24:39):
brands will be going up because of the tariffs.

Speaker 2 (24:45):
Okay, good to know. I figured definitely touch base on it.
I know it heard I'd heard word. I forget which
machine it was, and I'm like, well, if that's the keys,
then these other companies probably as well, because they're also outside.

Speaker 3 (25:03):
Yeah, and one thing I have heard through the grape vine,
and I'm sure it's okay to say here it with
the new you know, the Vortex v X nine and
everything has another update that's going to be releasing soon
as well as the five by eight coil. They're in

(25:24):
testing mode, but it sounds like they've done some amazing
stuff with it. So I cannot wait to get that
new update to It should be coming out shortly, so
if you are considering getting Vortex, you might want to
wait until the new update comes out something I think about.

(25:47):
So excited about that as well.

Speaker 2 (25:53):
Awesome, very cool, very cool. Now going back to dump digging,
how are your joints feeling today? Is it just me?

Speaker 3 (26:02):
Am? I? My neck is very sore. My neck is
very sore, and my arms are very short, quecially my
right arm because I was and you know how that
is because you're repetitive, and I do.

Speaker 2 (26:21):
I do have to say. Our friends got to hear me.
Our friends got to hear me experience one of my
shin splints, like leg cramps at like two in the morning.
So we had the I think the furthest room away
from the kitchen, and I remembered this time and I
brought mustard. So in the middle of the night, Oh yeah,

(26:46):
it always does. But I got I woke up in
excruciating pain with like the cramp running up the front
of my shin and my top of my foot to
my toes. So I like, I get up, gotta remember
where the heck I am. I trip over my flip flops,
get to the door, open the door. The hallways are

(27:08):
all dark. I got to the kitchen, went to grab
the mustard, and like, there's no handles on this fridge.
You have to grip it from the top of the
fridge to open the doors up. So I did that.
As I was I use using my right arm to
open it up. As I used my left arm to
try to grab the mustard, and I dropped the mustard
and I hit the floor and it went sliding. No,

(27:32):
it didn't break, but it went sliding across the floor.
So of course obviously super noisy at like one thirty
or two thirty in the morning. So I find it
and it's almost empty. So you get that like the splatter,
the pat noise, and it's not working, Like it's not working.
It always works there, There's never been a time it
has work. So it wasn't working. Really, I'm like, oh

(27:55):
my gosh, I'm gonna have to take this back to
the room with the brand. No, No, it was no,
it was the same I brought from home that you
usually works. I think I was just so dehydrated from
having energy drinks that I have had. So I'm like, fine,
I'm gonna take it back to the room with me.
Well I forgot again. I'm in a place I don't know.

(28:16):
The hallways are all dark, and then so I kicked
the table with my good leg that was in the hallway,
Like what the heck? What the heck? So I ended
up pounding some water and some more mustard and finally
it went away. But holy smokes, I was like, I'm
so sorry to everybody. The next morning, I'm like, I know,
I was so laughed.

Speaker 3 (28:42):
Oh that's the sorry those crams.

Speaker 2 (28:46):
No, it's you know. It's funny though, because talking to Judy,
Charlie's husband, she she's like, oh, yeah, mustard. I was like, yeap, mustard.
I know a lot of a lot of runners do
pickle juice, but I just it's the I'm pretty sure
it's the vinegar. But I can't do juice at like
three am, I can't do it. You can't make me.

Speaker 3 (29:09):
So do you rub it and the skin?

Speaker 2 (29:11):
I mean I drink it? What? Yeah? I like shoot mustard,
like drink it, like spray it down the back of
my throat mustard. And that's why I'm like, ok, I
can't do it.

Speaker 3 (29:26):
How long does it usually take?

Speaker 2 (29:29):
You've seen my house, So usually I'm I'm dying. I'm
dragging my foot behind me all the way to the kitchen.
I usually squirt it in the kitchen in my mouth,
swallow it, finish it, and by the time I get
back to the bedroom, it's usually gone. And this is
a much smaller place than up there, because that was
you know where you were five bedrooms. Yeah wow, So yeah,

(29:55):
but yeah, it took, it took, it took a lot longer.
And again it's the I swear it's energy drinks. So
I'm back the energy drinks and get back, get back.

Speaker 3 (30:11):
Uh, well before we go. Right now, I'm near let's see,
I'm near Fredericksburg. I'm headed to Kerrville. My friend Missy
was there. Some of you that went to my hunt,
my metal detecting hunt in Curville might remember her from there.

(30:31):
But anyway, long childhood, our teenage should friend, one time friend,
she has a metal detector as well. Anyway, I'm heading
there and I'm going to be staying with her, and
I'm going to be working with my psychic friends, two

(30:52):
of them, and we are going to help try to
locate some of the victims of the blood. Now, the
flood victims from Kerrville. They recently went from like one
hundred and seventy to down to like three maybe four
because there were people calling in and saying that this

(31:15):
person wasn't accounted for, and this person was accounted for
because the phone lines were down for several days after,
you know, and they couldn't get a hold of people.
But now they we went and checked solos and people
that had reported someone missing you know that they weren't
couldn't get hold of them, and then indeed they weren't missing.

(31:38):
So it was just because you know, the phone lines
and et cetera, all that chaos after the storm. But
there is surrounding area near there where there are more missing.
So I don't know how far I'll be going from
the Kerrville area, but I'll be here probably until Friday.

(31:59):
And then Friday I'm going back to stay with Sola
and Austin and then we're meeting up with our buddy
there and again and we're gonna go dig for airheads.
And it's a very pricey, pricey one and I can't
believe I'm paying gonna pay two hundred dollars apiece, but

(32:21):
we better find some good ones.

Speaker 2 (32:23):
Oh nice, you're going to a pay for pay for
dig type thing.

Speaker 3 (32:26):
Pay for Yes, this one will be my first pay
for dig, So we will see what happens.

Speaker 2 (32:32):
So let us know, because I know I've looked at
places like that.

Speaker 3 (32:36):
I'll be a video and you know I'll be a
video on of course.

Speaker 2 (32:39):
So we.

Speaker 3 (32:43):
Have pulling into Fredericksburg right now. It's fantastic anyway, but yeah,
that's what I'm doing, and I'll be picking up my
son he's done with his little Vaka on Sunday and
then probably be heading back home on Monday.

Speaker 2 (33:08):
Awesome, Well, thank you for donating your time to go
and help. That's pretty amazing and we wish you the
best of luck. And then yeah, I can't wait.

Speaker 3 (33:19):
To hear hope I'll be able to help. If anything,
I can help pick up trash and stuff. You know,
there's there's always a need or moot branches or whatever
I got to do, there's a need for help down there.
So we'll figure it out for sure.

Speaker 2 (33:36):
Fantastic. Well, it was awesome getting to catch up with you.
It's been a minute. I know we haven't gotten to
you know. It seems like Monday rules around and we
get to catch up for the first time. Yeah, in
a week, and it sounds like, yeah, next week will
be just as fun hearing to catch up on it.
I know that I've got some really good low tides

(33:59):
coming up in the weather. Looks like it's gonna gonna
play nice. And yeah, and again they're doing first cuts,
still hoping to get some detect and done too. And
uh yeah, so we'll have some fun stuff to talk about.
Plus I realized the memory came up. It was it's
been thirteen years of me metal detecting, like owning my

(34:19):
own metal detector and going metal detecting, so wow, yeah,
I figured found that out while I was away. The
memory popped up and I'm like, oh geez, that's crazy.

Speaker 4 (34:29):
And here I am. Happy anniversary, thanks full on digging,
but yeah, wishing you the best luck and uh can't
wait to catch back up and here hear how everything went.

Speaker 3 (34:44):
Thank you. I can't wait. I can't wait either, and
I'm about to leave. Uh miss left turn here?

Speaker 2 (34:51):
Oh no, oh no, all right, so we'll say good
night to everybody.

Speaker 3 (35:00):
Alright, everyone, it's been fun catching up. We'll see y'all
next time.

Speaker 2 (35:04):
