Speaker 1 (00:08):
Man Man war Connor. What your back doors? Hi Ellen,
(01:23):
Welcome to Treasure Vortex Podcast with Gypsy Jewels from YouTube's
zero Discrimination, as well as her website gypsydigs dot com,
and myself Amta Digger Degauze. Tonight, we're just gonna catch
on up because we have not talked in the last week,
and I know that we've both had multiple adventures, including
(01:43):
dealing with this heat. So, hey, Gypsy, how are you
this evening?
Speaker 2 (01:50):
Hey, I am doing great. I just got home. I
think it's been a couple hours ago now, and so
I'm trying to play catch up. You know how it
is when you've been on the road and traveling and
there's always catch up to do. You feel like you
need a vacation from your vacation. You No, it wasn't
(02:11):
really a vacation, but you know what I'm saying. And
then yeah, heat wave, definitely trying to beat the heat.
Right now, I'm sitting by my air conditioner talking to you.
Speaker 1 (02:29):
Nice. Nice, Yeah, what you were saying about. It doesn't
feel like a vacation like last weekend. I detected in Vermont,
you know, all weekend and had all that and we
traveled back and it took me the entirety of the
week to feel it could, like, to feel human again normal. Yeah,
(02:51):
I had to work every day, but I mean it's
even then, it still felt like, oh man, it took
a lot out of me. And I'm like, all right,
I guess I'm getting old where it's the heat or whatever,
but yeah it does. And then you're like, oh, you've
got laundry to do from when you're away. And I
realized I still haven't touched the fines are still in.
(03:14):
I think that might be still be in the back
of the car, like crap.
Speaker 2 (03:18):
Right mine, I know. I just got back today and
it's the same thing. I mean, I hit the ground
running as soon as I ran into the house to
go to the back room you know how it is
with the road trips, and then went back out grabbed
as much of my dirty I had my dirty clothes
like in a bag, and then went and started a
(03:40):
load of laundry, and then went back out got more
A second line. So much close because when you're you know,
when you're treasure hunting, you know how it is, and
especially if you're dump dump digging or like me, I
was dump digging. Your head hunting and metal detecting and
(04:01):
other stuff too, So I had nine days of clothes.
Speaker 1 (04:08):
Anyway, the dump, digging or like near like the mud
or anything like that, I honestly would come back so
gross and just be like, hose me, just hose me off.
Just get the dirt off out here. It's not even
worth throwing it in the wash at that point. You
have to get that.
Speaker 2 (04:29):
And it's it's mud too when you're so I was.
It was so funny because when it's not muddy, like
it was dry because it was hot as heck. And
so I'm digging in the dump and do an arrowhead
hunting and I'm sweating to death. So I've got sweat
all from my arm, you know, and neck every everywhere everywhere,
(04:53):
and I look down and and all that dust, so
it looks like I've had a mud bath. I've got
this layer of dirt on top of my sweat, so
it looks like I've been digging in the mud. It's crazy,
isn't it.
Speaker 1 (05:11):
It is?
Speaker 2 (05:12):
It is, But I did dirt last for us.
Speaker 1 (05:16):
It does, it does. It's even funnier when you know
I did. I threw something on the passenger seat today
and in the light, I could see like the dust
and I know it's from all the dirt in the truck.
I'm like, before the end of the summer, I definitely
have to like detail my truck, get it clean and
clean it up.
Speaker 2 (05:35):
Yeah. I was saying that exact same thing to my
son today because he drove back with me. He had
went too on a little vacation with his friends where
he graduated from. So the reason why I went down
to South Texas and then anyway, I was like, oh, man,
(05:56):
I gotta find a way. But I don't know, maybe
too soon. You had my vehicle detailed, you know, yeah
that's car. Yeah, yeah, because you know when Paul hits,
you know how that's gonna be starts going down.
Speaker 1 (06:12):
I just went by a couple of my the hay farms,
and they they did the they hate it, and I'm like,
oh gosh, but I think maybe later on in the
week we're looking at a possible cool down and maybe
I can get out for a little bit. It would
be nice. But before all of that, I do want
to hear about your adventure. I want to hear about
(06:35):
like I know that. Well, let's start with the beginning
of the adventure because you texted me almost right when
you got there and you would hurt yourself.
Speaker 2 (06:47):
Yeah, so let me preface that. So I just uploaded
a video on my dump digging, which a lot of
you heard about it last last Monday, because I was
traveling last Monday. So I was on the road and
you and I recorded the podcast while I was driving
and I was talking about that dump dig Well, after that,
(07:11):
I drove down if y'all remember, to Kerville, Texas, and
I was going to be trying to help, you know,
find some of the last missing people. As soon as
I got to my friend Missy's, I getting stuff out
of my car, and I have sandals on. You know,
I usually wear boots or high tops or something you
(07:34):
know like that. Well, because I was wearing sandals and
it was so hot, because I was wearing shorts, and
I was like, oh, you know, i'd be comfy to
travel in. I'll just wear my shorts with my sandals
and my little you know, I'm not used to wearing
the sandals, and I don't know, I just stepped wrong,
and sure enough my foot went over my fan and
(08:02):
I it wasn't as bad as my I don't know,
if you remember, you remember when I broke my ankle.
I know we were doing the podcast then it was
during COVID.
Speaker 1 (08:14):
I remember you seriously hurting your ankle. I don't remember
if it was broken or.
Speaker 2 (08:20):
Yeah, it's pretty much broken because it took too long
the heel. But do you remember how bad that? Oh man,
I was on one of those scooters for the longest time,
and then it took me forever before I could even
put my foot in one of those boots. But I had, luckily,
my friend Missy. After it happened, I hobbled into her
(08:40):
house and then we uh, she had a wrap wrapped it.
We went out to eat and here I was hobbling
around on this foot until the next day. And she
called around and found me a boot, and so I
went and picked up boot and luckily, you know, like
(09:04):
the previous time. It just made me think of something though. Okay,
so way back when when I very first started my
YouTube channel, I was. I remember I started in like
a July. That's been what almost ten years ago now,
I guess it's gotta be over. I don't even remember
(09:27):
how long it's been now. But my very first YouTube video,
if you go back and watch. I think it's a
second video. I was metal detecting this part, and guess
what I'm wearing on my ankle. So this is like
the fourth time I've done this to the same right ankle.
(09:47):
And you know how metal detecting you have a more
dominant foot that you dig with. Well, of course, yep,
that's my shovel foot too. So anyway, luckily this time
I only had to wear I guess the boot what
five days? I guess, And right now I am Yet
(10:11):
I had to drive back to Austin from Kerrville. I
had to. I got to take the boot off. So
but I am wearing a las up boot with pinkle support.
So but I am limping around and it's still slowing
in bruise, but it's ten times better.
Speaker 1 (10:30):
Yeah, and you've got no I like the breeze on
it to kind of make sure it doesn't get worse.
So that's good, right, right.
Speaker 2 (10:39):
So I'm lucky that I can do that because I
remember that last time, even after I took the boot off,
or when I took the boot off, I still had
to wrap it and furtherlng. I mean I couldn't even
It was forever for me. To actually get back in
the actual shoe last time. So I'm grateful that it
(11:00):
isn't worse than what it is, but it did mess
me up with my boots on the ground and what
I had planned on doing while I was there at
my friend Missy's and Kerrville, so Missy and I go
way back. We were discussing how long we've known each other,
so she was like, in this, I think she thinks
around the sixth grade when I met her, and so
(11:23):
that would have put me like in maybe the ninth
grade somewhere in there. Anyway, that's how long we've known
each other. And she has a middle detector too. She
has the garret at Max that she bought for many
years ago, and she did a ring recovery too, so
that's pretty cool. But long story short, it prevented me
(11:51):
from doing a lot of what I wanted to do
while I was there, So I ended up working remotely
with my friend Melissa the psychic, and she PenPoint two
of the missing and we were able to get a
report out to the local people that are search you know,
out searching search search team, And so I did see
(12:16):
something yesterday that I think they're getting closer where they
think that they might have found the possibly the girl.
So I don't know yet. I haven't heard an update.
I want to probably send the one person main contact
that has the cadaver dog and everything. And I was
really hoping that I would have been able to uh
(12:36):
stay or go out on some searches or possibly even
come back next week or this, you know, weeks this week.
But now that my ankle's better, I could possibly do that.
So I don't know. I'm waiting to hear back something,
but we'll see what happens. But I'm grateful that we
(13:00):
were able to do that. It was so sad, and
I know that a lot of people have been After
the all the search stuff or is done, a lot
of metal detectors will be going out there. I mean
already people are finding stuff on the ground, you know,
in the water along the water, and stuff that they've
(13:23):
been you know, posting in these vocal Facebook groups and
the other groups, trying to find the families that you know,
they belonged to. So I'm hoping I'll be able to
at least go back and maybe do some searching with
the metal detector and return some items because so many
people lost not only their lives but also lost their
(13:46):
homes and stuff and go to a lot of the flooding.
So anyway, we'll see what happens there.
Speaker 1 (13:53):
Yeah, like a week a week, In a week or two,
maybe the weather will crack a little bit and be
cooler too. Maybe.
Speaker 2 (14:01):
Yeah. Well the good thing if I do get in
the river. Yeah, but you get in the river, you know,
that's a very very cold river. So it's perfect time
of the year actually for hunting in that river. But
you just dip down in it cool often then you
know keep you know, there's some deep parts too. But yeah,
(14:24):
so that all happened. And then so drove back after
that for the weekend and met up with my friend
Zoa and Farren and we went one day. We went
and did some metal detecting and then we did some
(14:47):
jump digging back at that same dump that I posted
my video last night for so if you haven't checked
it out, go check it out. We found some really
cool stuff that's found.
Speaker 1 (15:00):
On unearthing Treasures and you uploaded it when Sunday.
Speaker 2 (15:06):
Last night, yeah last night. Yeah. So yeah, so it
was a watch to the end because I mean there
was just so many fines so many fines and be
sure and hit that subscribe button. I appreciate it. Every
(15:27):
bit helps and comment on the videos because it helps
with the monetization and stuff because it Toobe doesn't do much,
so any any anything helps any kind of interaction. But anyway,
so yeah, I got that video uploaded, and then we
(15:49):
went back with that and brought our friends Barren Vola
and I and we all found some cool stuff and
so that'll be my next video. We get some metal
detecting that day too, and of course it was hot
as heck, so it was good to kind of get
more in the shaded area and dig a little in them.
(16:11):
Not that it was all in the shade, but you
know what I mean. And then then the next day
we went or no, it was the next it was
the following weekend. That's okay, that was while I was
still there. After that was the very next day after
the video that I posted. Sorry, I'm getting my days weekend,
(16:36):
it's so busy. And then the next weekend, which was
Saturday this past Saturday, we went on a paid arrowhead
no dig. Now, it's quite pricey. I've never done one
of these, but Darren had mentioned doing one in a
(16:57):
while back and he wanted to try another one then,
so Zola got online and found one that wasn't too
far away. So we got up early, ex sure early,
and Joe picked up there and along the way and
then drove there, got there about seven thirty a m.
(17:18):
And started they go and they have this big back
hole thing and they go grab some dirt, throw it
up on this giant metal table, and Zola and I
stayed on one table, and then Darren was on the
big table by himself, and we just you sit there
(17:40):
and you had to go back and forth, back and
forth raking that dirt over because it's not like a
regular sifter where you're the one shaking it. You're basically
pushing that dirt through the holes, you know. So me
was to say, my arms are still for I got
(18:02):
the workout of a.
Speaker 1 (18:03):
Lifetime, I'm sure.
Speaker 2 (18:06):
So I totally understand you coming back from your trip
and taking a week to recover. It's probably gonna take
me a week to recover. So I not only had
was trying to still, I had my boot that the
boot for my ankle in the day we were there,
so I had to put I'm balancing on mainly one
(18:29):
foot most of the days, so my foot does are
twelves and I can't, you know, not in pain. And
so I'm there and then my arms feel like jelly.
Literally that night I had a hard time going to
sleep because it was just that teenly jelly feeling. And
they're still today because I had to drive and you
(18:49):
know how it is gripping the steering wheels. So people
think we don't get a workout, But we get a
workout any kind of treasure hunting, don't we.
Speaker 1 (19:00):
And by you not putting any weight on it, you
basically worked the entire like all your muscles, everywhere else
in your body.
Speaker 2 (19:09):
So like my whole neck was for my just everything,
my my back, my lower back, every part of my
body was just like oh my gosh. But uh, you know,
I made it home. I drove home.
Speaker 1 (19:27):
Wait time out. Do you think it's worth paying for
one of those haunts?
Speaker 2 (19:33):
Good questions? Good question. It's kind of like, Okay, I'll
put it this way. Are you guaranteed that it's even
a seated hunt and you're gonna come away, you know,
finding stuff exactly? So I will tell everyone it's about
the experience. It's about the camaraderie and yeah, you might
(19:54):
get lucky. Like the first time that that my friend
Thearren went, he came home with zero whole ones or zero.
He had some little partials, but like nothing, and so
he ended up selling. He goes to a lot of
seated hunts, so he sold a bunch of his silver
(20:17):
to go to be able to pay for this, and
but he came out on top. When you watch the video,
he got a really nice point, very nice, the nicest
point any of us found. So for him, I think
it was just worth because that's his first whole one ever.
(20:40):
So me, I found whole ones before, so it wasn't
quite as exciting. And it's not as exciting. I mean,
you are finding it in a while because this is natural.
They're digging down to get this. This is a natural hunt.
So it's definitely not seated, like as if we go
to a seated but you're not guaranteed. So it took
(21:03):
me the longest time to find my first almost whole
one and the tip was broken off, but I was
so excited about it when I found it, and I'm like,
well does that still warrant that two hundred dollars? You know,
would I do it again, maybe, but I think next
time I'd probably go just to the sixty dollars dig
(21:26):
they dig at the other location and take my chances
on sixty dollars as a versus that. But yeah, but
you know, the the two guys that were next to
us were there the weekend before, so there was quite
a few people there. They had like fifteen tables. I
(21:49):
mean there was a lot of tables, and there was
probably only like maybe a total of eight people there.
A lot of them were sharing tables, like Zoah and
I were sharing our table because they put a giant,
giant dump of dirt on your table, So it takes
(22:10):
you a long time to sift through it. And you
think it would be as We got faster too, as
we learned, But the first type they just had, you know,
a lot of rain, and so the soil where he
was getting it from wasn't it was harder, It was
still moist, so it was hard to gift. But the
(22:30):
second we got faster and more proficient, and finally towards
the I think Darren found his first, and then I
found a couple decent ones, and then Zola found hers,
and then that was pretty much our thrill. And then
(22:53):
the guy billy next to us got to know him.
I think he wants to buy a metal detector. He
said he's been thinking about it forever. So really nice guy.
He'll be in the video. And then his friend that
he was hunting with, and it was kind of funny
because every time he found one, he would crack open
(23:15):
a drink of adult beverage. He would like it celebration time.
So you know, when he found an area, if we'd
go over there to celebrate and I'd video him and
it was fun getting to know, you know, other people.
But that's what I was saying. He had come the
weekend before and he had more luck that weekend or
(23:37):
that Saturday. And then then we found out the next
day they were going to have a discount, and he
was like fifty percent off or something like that. But
so maybe check online if you're going to go to
one and see if they were run any specials out
now and then, but they'd waited the last minute, I guess,
to announce that they were going to have a special.
(23:58):
But anyway, yeah, great, great time. And it's just if
you've never done I mean, and you want to go
pay for a dig and you can afford to, And
I mean, I would recommend trying at least once, but
are you guaranteed no, you may tap out? Like how
(24:19):
many times do we go metal detecting and we get skunked?
So here's that chance lose Only she said it wasn't
worth it for her for me? Is it worth it
for the video? I'm grateful to have a video out
of it, so I'm you know, it'll be fun. It
(24:43):
was a fun experience and to experience that with my friends.
So anyway, we'll have to wait for the videos. So
let's see what all I am.
Speaker 1 (24:52):
Yeah, I can't wait to see it. That's exciting. I
could say that I actually did get out. I went
to one of my mothers spots that I haven't I
honestly haven't been able to get out in forever, so
and I what I did is I found so much
stuff at just the part of it that I was like,
(25:12):
I'm gonna leave the other beaches for another day, because
I was like, you know, you never know, especially since
it had seemed before that other people were going there
and it doesn't appear to be so anymore. But I
think I found like three clay marbles, four beads, bottle stopper,
(25:32):
a couple bottles. I found a couple neat, Like, I
got a metal plate that says jet on it, and
I was like, I don't know what this is, but
I ended up looking it up and it is a
radiator plate. So it's a nineteen twenty two nineteen twenty
(25:53):
two to nineteen twenty six radiator badge. Like I guess
it would go on the radiator.
Speaker 2 (26:00):
I went on the radiator of one of the old cars.
But yeah, so cool.
Speaker 1 (26:04):
Yeah, and it's actually not in that bad a shape,
so I'm like, oh, I can't wait to clean that up.
Speaker 2 (26:08):
Probably yeah, bra yeahs cool.
Speaker 1 (26:13):
But it looked like it was enameled, so there is
still like flakes of the like white enameling on it.
And then the other piece, but it, yeah, very neat
to find, but you know, anything that you find that's
got writing on it is always exciting. And then like
I was so intrigued by everything I was looking down
at that I kept hearing weird noises like coughing and stomping,
(26:37):
and I just didn't pay much attention to it. And
then I realized I must have gotten super close to
a deer. So all of a sudden, there's like crash, crash, crash,
and I'm like, oh, what the heck? Can I look up?
And it's this deer running away from me and I'm like, oh,
I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I didn't even see you, and
(26:57):
like talk to it for a little bit and then
it like actually hung out. Well, I continued, I'm like,
you're fine, I won't hurt you. But I couldn't get
video because it's just so like the forest is so
thick right there. So I'm like trying to take a
picture to do a video. Look a look at who
you know on top of what I found? Look at this,
(27:17):
and I'm like, nope, you can't see him. I was like,
all right, what you.
Speaker 2 (27:21):
Found that met?
Speaker 1 (27:23):
Nope?
Speaker 2 (27:24):
Well that was okay, wow, So there was a deer there?
Is that that area that you brought me. You took
me a couple Yes, the one where the woods is okay, okay, gotcha, yep, yep,
I think, and the other one doesn't have woods. So
it's like trying to puture a deer there.
Speaker 1 (27:45):
Okay, yeah, no, it's it's near near woods. Yeah, I
don't know what I'm gonna do. With the other one.
They're supposedly going to be building up on it soon.
I gotta again, I haven't gotten down. The tide is
finely like in my you know, my wheelhouse of being
able to do anything where it hasn't been most of
(28:06):
the summer, so like it get done work and it
would be like it's high tide the next hour. So
I'm like, oh crap, you know, you can go out
and search. But it just makes it it's it makes
it different, not yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2 (28:20):
Yeah it does. And then one of your videos it
was very it had that murky, reddish brackish Yes you
were on it.
Speaker 1 (28:32):
Yep, it's still that way. It's gross. Parts of it
are okay, and then other parts are just like that.
It's that red thick mud. It's like slug like but yeah,
like I don't know, I think I might. I might
have already posted or I'm gonna post it. And I'm like,
I need to find my gloves because I'm not touching
(28:54):
this stuff. But yeah, it gets gross. So I'm always
upset if I do forget my gloves. But I've been
really good about going, Okay, I need to grab these
and try to throw them in my bag. Before I leave,
but I wanted to update you on one of the
fines that we found when we were at our favorite
beach in New York. I had found what we said
(29:19):
was probably a gold denture or like the gold.
Speaker 2 (29:24):
I remember that. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (29:26):
Well I did bring it in and get it tested
and it was fourteen carret gold. So I was pretty excited. Yeah, yeah,
pretty excited. And then they said that the tooth is
like a plastic tooth, and I didn't know that. I
thought it was a real tooth.
Speaker 2 (29:43):
Oh wow, Yeah, that's interesting.
Speaker 1 (29:46):
But I figured i'd update you, So yeah, if you
find I mean, I know for a lot of people
finding teeth is not pleasant, but there's the possibility of
finding them with gold in them. And I know I've
got an actual I think I found a couple teeth
like individual tooth that has a gold filling. This was
(30:07):
and I don't know, I've got to find those, but
this was an actual partial like it had it so
it would attach around two teeth on either side and
then it was all gold, and then it was attached
to a tooth. So yeah, crazy crazy hmm.
Speaker 2 (30:26):
Wow, that's cool. Yeah, those crazy weird vines that turn
out to be good.
Speaker 1 (30:33):
I know, right, I'm glad, you know I do. I
just set them in a like you know, I set
them in a tray or set them in one of
my collection holder things and and yeah. And then I
started going through it and I'm like, oh, this is
this is actually gold. This was actually gold. This was
actually gold. I'm like, oh my god, I got actually
(30:53):
a lot of gold. I think I have found more
gold mud larking. Then I have metal.
Speaker 2 (31:01):
Detecting, metal detecting.
Speaker 1 (31:03):
Yeah, and that's so my my eyes versus a machine.
I thought that was pretty funny because once I found
out like this was gold, this was gold, that was gold,
this is gold, I'm like, oh my gosh. Yeah, because
I found three gold rings now metal detecting, and a
gold half of a locket. And then all my other
(31:24):
gold fines have all been mud larking or dump digging.
Speaker 2 (31:29):
Wow. I have to say I never found none that
I can think of gold while med larking over uh,
dump digging. I'm trying to think. I can't recall it's
(31:54):
all either been silver or costume.
Speaker 1 (31:59):
I'm trying to because I thought you got cold when
we were a gold shape. I thought you got part
of a gold chain when we were in New York mudlarking.
Speaker 2 (32:08):
I can't remember, it's possible. Well, I have to say, yes,
I think I have found that. Besides that, I did
another time found a gold chain like that. So yeah,
but other than that, most all of my gold has
(32:31):
been met de technical so I found a lot of
silver though, But yeah, maybe I would have to think.
You know, it's been doing this for twenty seven years,
so I really would have to think. The good thing
about having a YouTube channel is I can go back
and I'm like, you know, people will ask me stuff.
(32:51):
You know, have you ever found this or have you
ever done this? I'm like, you know, what about five
years ago, I've got that in a video you know
where I documented you know, finding that because it was
funny as though. We watched our dump digging video last
(33:13):
night while I was still at her house and she's like,
now you know, people are gonna go she planted that
other skeleton key something like that, and I'm like, well,
good thing that my you know, my followers and the
people didn't know me that know that I would never
do anything like that. And you could even see the dirt,
(33:34):
you see where I pulled it out you know. You
know that's a good thing about video, you know, But
still it was funny, you know how you always get
a try to key just crap, even though I did
have one person yet it was last year. I might
(33:55):
have been on a TikTok video and it was when
I was hunting. Uh, I was sounding like a it
was a tot lot and I've done like a gold
pennon or something, you know, and they're like, oh, yeah,
sure you put that there or something like that, like gosh,
give me a break. People are so.
Speaker 1 (34:15):
Anyway, yep, I agree. Oh. I have some advice if
I didn't give it already on this. If you have
a riker case with a glass like glass cover on it,
be careful not to hit anything on the glass because
or drop anything on that glass because even if it's
(34:37):
light like anything like making that glass move will hit
into your metal fines, which will then shatter the glass.
Speaker 2 (34:47):
Oh that sounds like you experienced that recently.
Speaker 1 (34:51):
I did. I did, Yeah, And you could tell where
it hit because there's a there was a musketball in
there and something the muscle land perfectly and it looks
like someone through like it looks like I threw a
rock and hit that one area and made it shatter
where the musketball was or or throw the musketball at it.
(35:14):
And I was like, oh damn, I guess I got
to get rid of this lid. And the glasses glued
to the cardboard around the edge, so it's kind of
a bummer yep.
Speaker 2 (35:25):
So I'm like, yeah, I've had a few rocket cases
break on me, but not quite like that.
Speaker 1 (35:30):
But yeah, because you can't. I was like, oh, maybe
I could sat the glass off and just put plexiglass.
But the minute I started trying to separate it, it
was ripping the edges of the and I'm like, yeah,
all right, yeep. I was like, well this one's is uh,
count this one out, count this one out. But yeah,
So that's my word of advice that I learned. And
(35:53):
then the other word of advice is I didn't have
I really never burn and I sunburned this last week.
And I heard a little birdie said you did as well.
Speaker 2 (36:07):
Yeah. When we were out airhead hunting, there was we
were no shade, no shade which you'll see in the video,
and it was supposed to be partly cloudy that day,
and I had a tank top on but I wore
a shirt over my tank top, but of course it
got so scorching hot. I'm like, okay, yeah, I'm shidding
(36:29):
this shirt. I tied it around my waist and so
of course I was. I once I get in the
my whatever, my zone, I'm not stopping to put any
sunscreen on. And I know that Zola had brought sunscreen,
and she had sunscreen, and she offered me some, but
(36:50):
I wouldn't take it because by the end I'd already gotten,
you know, going, and I you know, I stopped, of
course for water breaks in a little snack, but that
was it. And so, yeah, my shoulder still looks really
especially you know, more in closer. Oh gosh, yeah, really burnt.
(37:15):
So I'm sure I'll be peeling. But yeah, I hadn't
burned in a long long time. Fought summer.
Speaker 1 (37:24):
Same and I covered myself on sunscreen.
Speaker 2 (37:26):
Too, I was did he get there?
Speaker 1 (37:28):
Though?
Speaker 2 (37:29):
Do you know?
Speaker 1 (37:30):
I think it was a real feel. I don't know
they say real feel of like I think it was
supposed to be one hundred. We were in like heat, okay,
yeah warning or heat yeah, yeah, well heat, but then
they say heat advisor or heat warning that you're not
supposed to. Yeah, and I did.
Speaker 2 (37:50):
Rebel your rebel with the cause.
Speaker 1 (37:56):
Yeah, find the same.
Speaker 2 (38:00):
Finding treasure is your cause. Yeah, same for me. So
I know when we left, when we finally left, it
was about four point thirty and it was ninety seven
at that point, so I don't know how hot it got.
And yeah, the clubs weren't participating very much, so they
(38:21):
weren't hide in the sun.
Speaker 1 (38:23):
So yeah, it must have been hot. Yeah, and even then,
you can still sunburn when it is cloudy. Actually they
say that you'll probably burn worse, yeah, reflecting.
Speaker 2 (38:35):
Yeah, yeah, truth. Well but yeah, I was still recovering
from a sunburn. But it'll be okay, I'll live, I'll survives,
not the worst. At least I didn't pass out from
you know, I had my brimmed hat on, so that
was good, you know, protect me from the sun on
my face. And just try to stay hydrated. You know,
(39:02):
most of the day I just can't drink. And even
we bought those little small water so it was just
John and there thereber five ten minutes and then you
know you're dehydrated when you only go pee once.
Speaker 1 (39:16):
Yes, yep, oh, I just finished three liters of water.
Haven't had about there once. That's not a good thing, right, kidneys, especially.
Speaker 2 (39:29):
You, especially after yeah, my one kidney, and then especially
after I drink like a full thing that.
Speaker 1 (39:39):
Energy. You drink liquid caffeine to get it in my
liquid caffeine, liquid caffeine. Well, here's hoping that the heap
breaks and we can both get out and our listeners
can get out as well. I know in some areas,
not only has it been so hot, but the ground
(40:01):
is now concrete or so I've heard. That's never fun.
That's basically the equivalent to the ground being frozen.
Speaker 2 (40:11):
For us, right, it really is. I've I've done both,
and yeah, it's basically the same. Yeah, I haven't. Well,
I did get out and middle take twhile I was there.
So the ground wasn't bad because they had had a
lot of rain even though it hadn't rained in a
couple of days. So it wasn't so bad. Well, I
(40:33):
was there, but I know usually when I go down
even further, I've detected in that cement where you can't
even you can't even put a shovel in the ground.
It's like frozen ground. Same m like cement.
Speaker 1 (40:49):
Ye, never fun. Summer sum yeah, summer, summer.
Speaker 2 (40:57):
Yeah right, oh boy, but hey, yeah, I hope you're
able to get a little cool off and get get out,
and I'm hoping I will. If not, I may see
if my friend want Megan wants to maybe go to
(41:19):
the lake. She's off tomorrow and the next day, and
maybe you go get in the water and do a
little water hunting. So maybe I'll maybe I'll do that
nice so one of the local local lakes swimming holes
(41:40):
for a little while.
Speaker 1 (41:42):
That's fine.
Speaker 2 (41:42):
So if I do, that'll probably be about it. Uh
So we'll see. Other than that, if anybody tried to
get a hold of me, I apologize. I have been
when I'm traveling like that and it's just hard for
me to catch up with personal calls like something very portant.
Speaker 1 (42:03):
Don't get to talk to you.
Speaker 2 (42:06):
I don't, So y'all need to understand if you are
trying to get hold of me, I apologize. It's just
it's just too hard and I just try to catch up.
Speaker 1 (42:19):
You probably also are like, oh, the message came in,
but you're doing something else and then it's like gone totally, and.
Speaker 2 (42:26):
It's like and then you forget when you finally do
have some downtime, Like I'm about to have a little
downtime after we've finished recording, but then I got to
go get my laundry out. Yeah yeah, you know how
it is.
Speaker 1 (42:42):
Yep, I absolutely do. I don't think I've posted any picture. Yep,
I haven't posted any pictures from last weekend, well two
weekends ago. I haven't posted any pictures from three weeks ago.
Like I sitting down and doing that, Like I got
to do a rite up, send that out there so
people can see some of the cool stuff I found.
Speaker 2 (43:05):
Oh yeah, I can't wait.
Speaker 1 (43:07):
But yeah, well, it was awesome catching up with you,
and I can't wait to catch back with you next Monday.
See what other troubles we get into.
Speaker 2 (43:17):
Right, hopefully it'll be cool and down. Well, you have
a good one and great catching up and happy hunting
and all of you as well, happy hunting, and have
a great rest of your week.
Speaker 1 (43:31):
Goodbye all, good night everyone,
