First of all, man, welcome back. Glad to have you back,
Glad to be talking to Buffalo Bills. Do we have
a lot of stuff to talk about?
Speaker 1 (01:18):
Well, a lot of stuff that I feel like i've
I've been away for a long time and also not
a long time. But again thanks to the Holy jack
Wagon there uh for for covering for me. In in relief.
At this time of year. Man, it's it's it's it's
it's difficult. It can be difficult at times. And last
(01:39):
week with Thanksgiving, which, by the way, I hope everybody's
Thanksgiving was as rad as mine was. Everybody should, everybody should,
you know, deserves that. It's been turbulent times of course,
but you know, because of that and the abbreviated week
that we had, it was very difficult for me to, uh,
to commit to it. So I'm glad that you guys
(02:00):
got together and we're able to put it out, pump
something out. We had great numbers, of course, thank you
to the Bill's Mafia for that and breading on the.
Speaker 2 (02:08):
Fourth Wall, breaking on the fourth Wall real quick.
Speaker 4 (02:09):
John.
Speaker 2 (02:10):
It's also something to where it's it's I mean, I
don't know if I've ever told you this, but I
always feel like it's kind of unfair to you as
the week goes on to be like, well, you know,
we'll try to aim to do it on you know,
Friday or something, and then it's like, okay, well now
it might be like, oh, I'm comfortable with that decision,
but then you're like, well, I'm up against a wall.
(02:30):
Because I can only do it, you know, this specific timeframe,
and it just creates a ton of stress. So I'm
so glad it is.
Speaker 1 (02:36):
It doesn't need to be stressful.
Speaker 5 (02:38):
Man.
Speaker 1 (02:38):
We got a three person team now, which is pretty cool.
So you know if you if if you can't hear me,
you'll hear someone else. So it's it's all good, no
worries man.
Speaker 2 (02:49):
Or you get to just listen to me ramble on,
which I know, judging by the fact that this is
the one hundred and sixty fourth episode, at least somebody
doesn't mind it.
Speaker 1 (02:57):
Well me mainly, I appreciate hit that.

we mentioned our rundown here, Buffalo continues. They're winning ways
with a thirty five to ten victory over the San
(03:21):
Francisco forty nine ers and by the way of the
Green Bay Packers, thank you to the faithful out in
Green Bay. The Green Bay Packers defeat the Minute or
the mist of the Minnesota Dolphins the Miami Dolphins on
Thursday Night football Thanksgiving Eve evening, which then made Sunday's
game for the Buffalo Bills win and not only are
(03:41):
you in, but winning you clinched the division title, which
again as mentioned, they did. And John, we absolutely love
a good old fashioned snow game, which is exactly what
we got on Sunday.
Speaker 1 (03:54):
What a game, What a game to watch. Visually, it's
you know, okay, when we've been fortunate and lucky enough
to have now two of them in as many weeks,
with the Cleveland game happening before that, I mean, that's football,
that's pro football, you know what I mean? Really really
a great game to watch and a really fun team
(04:15):
to watch. This Bills team continues to prove to be.
Speaker 2 (04:19):
Absolutely I mean it's looking at it. You get worried
immediately because you're looking at the statistics, which we'll talk
about here in a few minutes. You get a little
worried because these are the types of games that can
really get away from you. I mean, you saw early
on it was the first couple of drives, was each
side feeling the field out feeling each other outfield, The
weather out and then there was a clear cut Hey,
(04:41):
Buffalo figured it out very quickly. Before we get to
those stats, though, Buffalo moves a ten and two on
the season, their best start since nineteen ninety one. The
Bills became the NFL's eighth team all time and first
since Indianapolis in two thousand and nine to clinch a
division title of five games remaining. It's the second earliest
clinch state and team history. Technically tied for the earliest
(05:02):
clinch state and team history if you not counting the
AFL so in the modern era, but the Bills clinched
the AFL East on November twentieth, nineteen sixty five, and
the AFC East also on December first, but in nineteen
ninety one. So again, Wow, we're seeing some pretty impressive
stuff fro the Buffalo Bills. And every time John, excuse me,
(05:23):
I think back to and I started to do it
as well, kind of like with your with your little
spartass flick to it, you know, where the Bills do
something crazy and I just go not bad for a
rebuild year, huh, Because.
Speaker 1 (05:35):
Again, yeah, yeah, I think I go back to my
point that I made a few weeks ago when I
had said that, that alone, I think was what makes
this Buffalo Bills team that much more fun to watch
and easy to root four because they were not supposed
to be in this position at all. And in fact,
(05:57):
I do believe that it was discussed in the game
itself on Sunday, where it might have even been Collinsworth
in between of course orgasms and finding a way to
weasel Patrick Mahomes into the conversation, of course, but it
was not bad for rebuilding year. I'll tell you what
(06:17):
that Josh Allen guy, you know, Patrick Mahomes, I love you, uh,
and you know, but it's it's really cool to see that,
and and so I love I appreciate that you have
adopted that little sort of j C. Money snark, if
you will, with that the.
Speaker 2 (06:33):
Things I throw out usually when I'm watching the game
with with with Aubrey for those who don't know, my wife,
and I'll say, not bad for a rebuild year, and
she'll just chuckle a little because again, uh, Bill's Bill's fever.
I mean, I'm I'm always there wind loser draw, but
Bill's fever has taken over the house. I mean, my
my daughter loves loves watching the Bills. I've sent the
(06:54):
videos of you of to you and and Chris of
us jamming out to the shout song when the Bills
score touchdowns because my can pick it up and it's
it's actually pretty funny. But uh we we love sitting
down and watching the watching the Bills on TV. It's something.
It's something great too about like one o'clock games are fantastic,
but I'm really starting to love and maybe it's just
because the Bills have played a lot of them lately.
(07:16):
I'm really starting to love the idea of that four o'clock,
four five, four twenty fast start because you get your
get your whole day to do what you need to
do getting ready for the game. Throw your jersey on
about three o'clock for your little bit of your mental pregame.
The game starts, you sit down, you turn the fireplace on,
uh and then you just relax, you know, with a
(07:36):
nice cup of coffee or hot chocolate, if you have
a beer a beer and watch the game. I mean,
it's it's great.
Speaker 1 (07:42):
It's always going to wind down really cool. The Bills.
Speaker 2 (07:45):
The Bills games have not been very stressful recently, although John,
I must say I finally figured out on my on
my Apple watch how to check my uh my heart rate,
and it was really funny because the bye week my
heart rate was resting at sixty eight. The Sunday before
when they played the Chiefs, my resting heart rate for
the day was eighty four. So you can definitely tell
(08:07):
by looking at my watch when the Bills play base
heart which is really kind of funny.
Speaker 1 (08:12):
Well, I can't look at your watch, but I can
certainly look at the Trust the text message group chat,
and I can pretty much determine what your heart rate
is during during those chats, especially during the game. It's
very funny too because I was actually watching yesterday's game
with Brandon here at my house and he's a Packers
fan and he's in a Packers group chat that it
(08:35):
closely resembles Trust the podcast, just without the podcast and
the roller coaster of emotions in that chat, and also
watching him go through it because he's a Packers fan.
I sat here and I'm like, this is right. Here
is appointment television. So these group chats, these team group
I've never been in a Jets one, and I don't
(08:55):
want to be in one because it will probably just
be dooming gloom, but watching you know that the Packer
won live and then show enough living color, and then
of course being a part of the trust the text
message won during Bill's games. It's I can't lie. It
makes watching the game that much more enjoyable because of
seeing the roller coaster of emotions and judging by how
(09:18):
Brandon was, I imagine his apple heart his apple Watch heart
rate was through the roof during points of time, especially
when they were getting those little cute dink and dunks,
which I know will once we get to talking about
the Lions game when it's time, you know, those little
those little cute gimmicky things that that Dan Campbell was
(09:39):
calling up yesterday against a very depleted Packers defense. Don't
think they're going to be able to get away with
a whole ton of that against Buffalo.
Speaker 2 (09:47):
Absolutely, And I mean we'll we'll roll back to to
the to the text message thing really quick. I also
think that, you know, I mean, I didn't think the
podcast quality was poor before, but I do think that
our text message group has helped increase the quality of
the podcast because as I watch the game, it gives
me a better idea of what to watch for or
(10:08):
what you're seeing or what Chris is seeing, which makes
me pay more attention to it and point it out
and discuss it. And then it's kind of more of
a fluid conversation when we get of just throwing.
Speaker 1 (10:18):
In fairness, most of the time, the things I see
are on a little bit of a delay from the
things you guys see. And I'm not talking about just
because of the you know, internet and and and you know,
me watching through streaming versus perhaps watching on over the
air television. It's because I'm thoroughly enjoying my Sundays.
Speaker 2 (10:42):
That's fair. Speaking of enjoying their Sundays. Man, the Buffalo Bills,
they clinched the division john without playing the New England Patriots.
They became the first team in NFL history to clinch
their division more than one week prior to playing one
of their division rivals for the first time in the season. Now,
I know the schedule is weird. Yeah, that's a fun stat.
That's like a new high. It's calls it a Lebron stat.
That's a Lebron stat right there where. It's like, yeah,
(11:03):
I never would have thought of it, but we'll take it.
Buffalo extended its run of scoring thirty or more points
to six straight games, the longest such streaking team history,
also the fourth team in NFL history to beat both
Super Bowl teams from the previous season and consecutive games,
joining the nineteen eighty two Chargers, the nineteen eighty five Lions,
and the twenty sixteen Falcons. Also, John Vibes continued to
be immaculate in Orchard Park. During an ESPN postgame interview,
(11:27):
Shaw McDermott challenged Josh Allen to do snow angels on
live TV, to which both of them laid down on
the snow and did snow angels. And I'm thinking of myself, Man,
this team is as tight of a knit group as
I can remember it being.
Speaker 1 (11:41):
I mean, he's he's got he he's a good coach.
They just know if sands or bus about it, he's
a good coach, you know. After the whole nine to
eleven thing, the last year of the year before whenever
it was everybody thought that that was kind of it
for him, But that team rallied around him, continue to
rally around him. They the message he gives. They buy
(12:03):
what he sells. And that's the most important part of
being a head coach, being a coach or being a
leader in any avenue, in any business, if you can
get if your message resonates with the people that work
for you, they're going to work for you, and they're
going to enjoy working for you, and you're gonna get
a lot of things done. And McDermott has he's just
(12:26):
that dude, he's that coach and and this team is
that team so very very cool to see and hear
these types of you know, those types of things, see
those vibes, see how everybody it's just it's it's such
a cool it's such a cool thing really to see.
And it translates into other different things too. They what
(12:47):
was the name of that you sent me yesterday? Or
you sent the group chat yesterday where he was doing
like who is it that was laying in the snow
without his shirt on and all that and he's doing
workouts and stuff. Mac Collins, Yeah, that's it, that's it.
But like that type of stuff, if the coaching wasn't
you know, if those vibes weren't there, that video probably
(13:09):
isn't being made and people are probably not making snow angels.
Speaker 6 (13:12):
You know.
Speaker 1 (13:13):
It's just it's a real cool time. It's a real
good vibe. And this this team has, through whatever adversity
happened in the previous offseason, has has just gel like
very few other teams do and it should be commended.

John having watched the game, that should come as no surprise.
A lot of wrapping up the offense is just fawning
over Josh Allen because even though we have been talking
about Josh Allen out for what seven seven years, m
(14:07):
H still blown away by what we get from this
guy every single week. Josh Allen in thirteen of seventeen
passing one hundred and forty eight passing yards two touchdowns
with two passing touchdown, was with three rushes for eighteen
yards and one rushing touchdown. And also, oh, we'll talk
about a second, no receptions for seven yards and receiving touchdown,
and also one successful marriage proposal during the bye week.
(14:31):
Everything right now, John, coming up, Josh Allen pass absolutely
Perseth Walder on Twitter. Josh Allen posted a ninety five
point two QBR in the snow Game blowout victory over
the forty nine Ers, the eighth highest QBR game by
any quarterback this season and the second highest by Allen
his twenty second career game with two plus touchdowns and
one plus rushing touchdown tyan cam Newton for most such
(14:53):
games all time, John, before we talk about what everybody's
probably waiting for us to talk about, what were your
thoughts on Josh Allen's performance on Sunday afternoon.
Speaker 1 (15:03):
I it's hard to really put into into words continued words,
the same, you know, the same thoughts that that everybody
else had and that we've had in the past few weeks,
which is damn. I mean, you know that that zero
reception for the receiving touchdown, that that backwards lateral, that's
(15:26):
just that was like an accident. I feel like I
feel like Joshua's just kind of coming over to inspect
the scene there, and then Amari, being the experienced guy,
he is kind of like, yo, here you go, and
then it was like beat it. Just those those little
things he's he's really connected the dots on several isms
that maybe he didn't before, and it's really translating very well.
(15:49):
You know, you can look at the thirteen of seventeen,
one hundred and forty eight passing yards and two touchdowns
that way and be like, well, it's not three hundred
yards or it's not four touchdowns to the air and
all that stuff. He doesn't need to do all of
that anymore. And I think when you talk about MVP
and what that means, a lot of it is, yes,
it's a quarterback essentially, it's a quarterback award. More often
(16:12):
than not, it's a quarterback award. But in the same
what the MVP means that team like josh Allen doesn't
need to put the team on his shoulders. All the time.
He doesn't need to run all the time. He doesn't
need to be the be all end all everything. Now,
he just needs to make sure that the team knows hey,
(16:35):
or at least the opposing teams know, we trust each other.
Y'all need to prepare for every one of us. But
if you happen to not prepare for me, we're gonna
make you feel that. And that's like the difference there
where you know, historically coaches will try and go take
out the best weapon. So like the Bill Belichick's of
(16:56):
the world would have probably prepared to take out Josh
Allen and focus a bunch of things on Josh Allen
and then let everything crumble there. You can't do that
with this team because you've got James Cook, who is
you know, running very very well and opening up all
of that. You've just got the the offensive line. I mean,
you've got everything Josh Allen doing Josh Allen things. That's
(17:18):
what he does. Now you almost you're almost at a
point now where you kind of expect nothing. You're not
surprised when he performs like he does.
Speaker 2 (17:28):
I mean, when the Lake Effect lateral as it's been called, happened,
I did audibly start laughing.
Speaker 1 (17:34):
I just I like that. That's that's you know, in
a in a in a game, and in a business
where names like that, you know, are are always attached
to something. You know. I hate to bring up bad memories,
but think of the Music City Miracle, right, that's you know,
it's kind of Lake Effect lateral perfect. If you want
to say, el Murray for the Hail Mary, that that
Kyler Murray through that one day, right, you know those.
Speaker 2 (17:56):
Yeah, what what will get Josh Allen the MVP to
play like that?
Speaker 1 (18:00):
Absolutely? Absolutely? And that ties back to what I was
saying about. Okay, look at the hundred. You know, if
you're thinking of if you're looking at the stat line
and seeing thirteen to seventeen one hundred and forty eight
passing yards, you're like, whoa, whoa, Wow, Really there's other
quarterbacks strouring two three hundred yards or whatever. But it's
not just that, it's the other things. It's the auratualrisence.
(18:22):
He's like the shink, the more of his freaking of
his team.
Speaker 2 (18:26):
It's the management of the offense, the growth of the
maturity to take what the defense gets you, to be
able to go up and read and say all right,
this is what we're getting, so we're gonna switch the
we're gonna switch this, or to have the wherewithal to
run over to just to make yourself available, just to
see if something's gonna happen. And I mean again, I feel.
Speaker 1 (18:44):
Like he's, you know, as part of those connecting the
dots thing. I think it's I think he finally feels
comfortable to be able to say, oh, yeah, I am
one of very few in this league that can play
like this, watch me, instead of being humble about yeah.
Speaker 2 (18:59):
Well in another thing too, John, we've seen the game
kind of transition back this year to being more like
in the trenches, where it's more of a run heavy.
You're not going to pass for three hundred four hundred
yards a game. You may time and time, you know,
on and off, or if you're Jameis Winston, you just
throw for six or seven hundred combined passing yards because
you throw to the team other teams so often. I
(19:21):
love Jamis Winston, but that was that was great. Josh
Allen is just giving what the defense is taking, taking
what they give him, sorry, and not trying to do
too much. And I think that is that to me
is what's making him even more valuable because again, instead
of turning the ball over, you know, two times a game,
(19:44):
in allowing the other team to have two extra possessions
right like, it'd score fourteen points. It's it's protecting the ball.
It's it's making better decisions, it's relying on the short
passing game, Ray Davis, Ty Johnson, James Cook, Khalil here,
stuff like that. It's not a ton of just we're
not Madden over here, and just you know, let's go
(20:05):
run all streaks and just eat the ball as far
as you possibly can every play. While that might be
fun on a video game, in real life, it's not
very logical. But I think that's again the Lamar Jackson
statistically is having and Chris and I talked about this
last week, but Lamar Jackson statistically having a great year,
Joe Burrow statistically having a great year, Jamar Chase having
(20:26):
a great year, say Kwon Barkley having an incredible year.
But at the end of the day, Josh Allen continues
to put his team in the best position to succeed.
And it not that those guys don't, because I'll probably
get someone yelling at me for that, But it's it's
very much the if you take Josh Allen away, how
good would the Bills be if you take Lamar and
(20:46):
how good would the how good would the Eagles be?
But also you look at the record as well, and
you go, all right, so Lamar Jackson has won the
MVP before by himself. Now he has Dereck Henry and
he has the defense is poor, but like there's that
the Eagles have Jalen Hurts, I mean in a really
good defense. I mean, yes, the Bills also have a
very good defense as well, and I get that, but
(21:08):
you're looking at I can't imagine the NFL would give
a running back the MVP when they've clearly the owners
have clearly tried to collude to not have to pay
running backs, right yeah, And I don't think they want
a resurgence of having to pay running backs a lot
of money.
Speaker 1 (21:28):
I don't agree with that. It's it's sad, but true
quarterback is what sells the you know, sells the proverbial tickets.
So I think that's that. But you know, when you
go back to the record, you talk about Buffalo being
ten and two, the argument could be made that you know,
we'll look at the division they're in. You know, Miami
at five and seven, the Jets at three and nine,
(21:50):
New England at three and ten, all not playing to
the best, and you know, Miami having their issues that
they're having. But I will see that point and raise that.
Aside from Miami, the Buffalo Bills have allowed ten points.
The defense have allowed ten points in six of the
games so far. That in six games they've had only
(22:13):
allowed of ten points. One of those was to the Dolphins,
the others outside of the division, one of them being
the Ravens. So yeah, I can you know see that.
You know, people may be like, yeah, but yeah, but yeah,
but but this is the model of consistency. There's they're
scoring thirty thirty points, are above just in every game
(22:36):
I think except for maybe like two that they've passed
either hit or passed thirty points scoring and then six
of those games allowing ten, you know, ten points less
than I would say, yeah, no, ten, ten was the
lowest and they did that six times. So they're good.
(22:56):
They're a good team. Like, they're really damn good team.
I don't think it matters what division or who's playing
on what like, you have to start looking at the
Buffalo Bills and saying, Okay, there's no excuse aside from
the fact that this team is coached very well. This
team has a great nucleus, It has an MVP caliber
quarterback top three in the league for sure, and they're
(23:20):
just they're They're just good. They're a good team, and
they're fun as hell.
Speaker 2 (23:26):
To watch if you're not kidding there, they've got they've
got the right personalities, They've got the right like Sean
mcdermots at the locker room, is is very tight.
Speaker 1 (23:34):
It's it's it's and I don't want to be like
the you know, the guy that says, you know, I mean,
I made the joke. Steph Diggs was the problem. Ha ha.
But in the same like, I don't feel like the
vibes were this vibe when Diggs was on This is
there was the best they have been.
Speaker 2 (23:51):
This is the best.
Speaker 1 (23:51):
But this is like the most the closest knit that
I feel like I have heard from this Bills team
since before Diggs came to the team, So there may
be something there.
Speaker 2 (24:06):
Absolutely, And going back to this Lake Effect lateral, John
it was a short pass to Mark Cooper, which ESPN
described as corralling a short pass. The catch alone was impressive.
Cooper immediately wrapped up by two San Francisco defenders. Josh
Allen ran over in Cooper's direction while Cooper was being
wrapped up. Wrapped up, Cooper said postgame quote, I was
wondering what he was doing over there. I figured he
(24:28):
was over there because he wanted the ball, so I
gave it to him. Alan then ran the ball in
for a seven yard touchdown. He was credited with a
passing and receiving touchdown on the play. Msn dot Com
points out per NFL Guide for Statisticians, quote, the only
touchdown considered touchdowns passing are those that result from a
completed forward pass from a teammate, which explains why Alan
receives the passing touchdown rather than Cooper, to whom he
(24:50):
completed the first pass. However, as he was the player
in possession of the balls across the pilon, he also
has the receiving touchdown the guy. The same guid states quote,
touchdowns should be noted in their respect categories according to
the matter made. While Cooper's pass was backwards and therefore
could not be considered a touchdown catch, Allan claiming possession
still counts as a catch, explaining why he was given
a receiving touchdown. The NFL rule book states, quote, A
(25:13):
catch is made when a player inbounds severear's possession of
a pass, kick, or fumble that is in flight. I'm
glad that they made that very easy to define. Allen
is the first NFL quarterback since the AFL NFL merger
to register a rushing, passing, and receiving touchdown in the
same game. Second player in NFL history to record at
least two passing touchdowns, one rushing touchdown, and one receiving
touchdown in the same game, joining Green Bay Packer quote,
(25:34):
back that was his position, Tony Canadio. I believe is
how you say the name. In nineteen forty three, Josh
Allen also the fourth player in NFL history to record
a receiving touchdown on a pass eight three. In per
NFL Next Gen Stats, Josh Allen accelerated from nine point
seven miles an hour to sixteen point six one miles
per hour in one point eight seconds to beat San
(25:54):
Francisco linebacker de Winters to the pylon for the touchdowns.
Sometimes freaking you don't got to be just that's just silly.
Speaker 1 (26:03):
That's silly, Ryan.
Speaker 2 (26:04):
Sometimes you got to be lucky, sometimes you got to
be good, and in this in this case, both lucky
and good. Because again it's that, it's that, it's that
meme with the dog. I'm fast as I'm fast as
f U c K boy.
Speaker 1 (26:16):
You know, I don't want to be I want to
be mister and missus Downey for that.
Speaker 2 (26:21):
I want to be. I want to be considerate to
our listeners here exactly. I want to be considerate. I
don't want to curse. I'm it's it's it's Jesus' month,
it's his birth month. I don't want to ruin any vibes.
Speaker 1 (26:33):
Hey sus Yeah, yeah, you say Jesus, I say, hey, Sus, Well,
I understand that.
Speaker 2 (26:40):
Josh Allen, after Sunday's win, has now scored two hundred
and forty eight career touchdowns. That's one hundred and eighty
seven passing, fifty nine rushing and too receiving to break
Hall of Famer Jim Kelly's franchise record of two hundred
and forty four. It's really funny, John Josh Allen now
officially has one reception in his career for two touchdowns.
Josh Allen was named the the AFC Offensive Player of
(27:01):
the Week for the fourteenth time in his career and
FedEx's Aaron Grond Player of the Week alongside Pittsburgh quarterback
Russell Wilson. Now we've talked a ton about how this
team adjusts, John and moving to our next point here,
dashing through the snow and adjusting to the pace of play.
Tried to be real cute here. Wow, well playing words,
thank you, I'm really adorable. Thirty four total rushes, removing
(27:24):
the four neel down attempts for negative three yards. They
had two hundred and twenty three rushing yards in three
rushing touchdowns, a six point six yard per carry average. Essentially,
the right studs on the shoes. The equipment staff gets
a kudos this week for that, because again, both teams
struggled to figure out who's doing what when, and then
Buffalo just seemed to figure it out and go from there.
(27:45):
James Cook fourteen rushes for one hundred and seven yards
and a touchdown, one reception for one target for thirteen yards.
His sixty five yard touchdown marks a career best, the
longest run for a Buffalo Bills player since twenty sixteen.
Per Next Gen Stats, James Cook reached top speed of
twenty one point eight five miles per hour, the seventh
fastest played by a ball carrier this season and the
(28:05):
fastest by cooking his career. Cook has had one hundred
plus rushing yards in the first half of a game
for the second time in his career. No other Buffalo
Bills player has rushed for one hundred plus yards before
halftime since twenty seventeen. Cook is also the tenth player
and team mystery, the eighteenth time this has happened overall,
with eleventh rushing touchdowns in a seasons.
Speaker 1 (28:25):
Unbelievable. And you know what, forever got to give kudos
to the team there, and you know the general manager
for hitting on James Cook like he fits like a
perfect glove on this team.
Speaker 2 (28:41):
We'll have to talk about that in the offseason because
there have been some There have been some big I
wouldn't say I mean there were some big swing and misses,
but it reminded me when I was listening to Sean
McDermott talk on the radio on WGR on Friday as
I was driving home from Target. Have the day off
today know as one does goes to target and they
(29:03):
mentioned that Dean Dawkins was Buffalo's choice for Walter Payton
Man of the Year. Congratulations that well deserved. They had
mentioned in your first draft, Sean McDermott, you drafted Uh,
my head just stopped working there because I was reading,
as I'm talking, you drafted Dean Dawkins. And I'm like, damn, dude,
(29:24):
what what a pick? Like? What a pick to hit
on your franchise left tackle in the first draft, the
first draft. As as the head coach of the team,
I mean, that's again.
Speaker 1 (29:36):
When he can't we and may may I remind you
and all our listeners what the state of the team
and the dynamic and the fan base was at the
time that he took the job. It was not in
a very good spot. Yes, Buffalo Bill's fans and the
Bill's mafia always show up for their team, but you know,
(29:56):
remember the trust, the process, chant unit.
Speaker 2 (30:00):
Yeah, at least podcast, I means in just in, just
like wow, that first draft, Tredevis White, Zay Jones, Dean
Dawkins in the second, Matt Mulano in the fifth. Obviously,
our Lord and Savior, Nathan Peterman in the fifth round too,
don't want to disrespect him. But then obviously you've got
(30:21):
Josh Allen, Tremade Edmonds in twenty eighteen, they Harrison Phillips
and the third still very good player in the league,
Tarn Johnson, the best corner the best slot cornerback in
the league in our opinion, Whyatt Teller in the fifth round,
a very talented player as well, Ray Ray McLeod who's
still sticking around in the league. Twenty nineteen at Oliver
(30:41):
Cody Ford who's still a serviceable player in the league.
Devin Singletary Dawson Knox in the third round. But here's
here's where it starts to get a little wild. In
twenty twenty aj Epanessa, Gabe Davis, Tyler Bass and then
looking at you look at a draft like, I mean
twenty one Greg Russo, Spencer Brown, Tamar Hamlin. But in
(31:02):
twenty twenty two, excuse me, that's the draft I wanted
to look at, because again there's some big misses, Kayer
Elan being one of them, right, looking like a bust
at at twenty three overall in twenty twenty two. But John,
do you remember who else was drafted in twenty twenty two.
Let me write you do not second round pick James Cook,
third round. Oh there is morel Bernard, fifth round pick,
(31:25):
Khalil Shakir, sixth round pick Christian Benford. There are four
The Bills drafted four starters in that draft. Five if
you consider Matta Riza, who's the starting punter for the
Kansas City Jews. But we don't talk about him. We
don't want to start trying.
Speaker 1 (31:40):
Yeah yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2 (31:41):
But again four that's how you build a team from
the ground up.
Speaker 1 (31:45):
Absolutely, that's how you get to a point where you
can be ten and two or eleven four.
Speaker 2 (31:50):
Four not even just not even just starters, like four
really good starters.
Speaker 1 (31:57):
Yeah I know. But what I'm saying is, yeah, you
and you when you hit on the drafts, like like
this team has, with as many players as they have,
you're going to be ten and two during a down year,
you know what I mean. Like they they've really done
exceptionally well in the draft, and not only in that,
(32:18):
but you know, picking up you know, to picking up
free agents and things in to build depth and all
of that. They've just been doing everything right. And that's
what you need to do and sustain and continue to
do to keep a football program in the winning program category,
and the Buffalo Bills for the last seven years have
(32:41):
had a winning football programs as evident by their five
back to back to back to back to back AFC
East championships. You know this, this this team is in
nucleus from top to bottom. This is what I think
Ralph Wilson would have loved to have gone out with
with knowing that you know, his team. If he built
(33:03):
this team like this, like woo, imagine how happy he
would have been. I mean, I'm sure he was happy,
don't get me wrong, but because he had a lot
of money. But in the same like, he also loved
the Buffalo Bills, and I think this would have made
him very, very happy to see how well the team
that he loved so much was doing so looking.
Speaker 2 (33:24):
At speaking of drafting good or being good at drafting,
the Bill's fourth round pick from this year, Ray Davis,
another strong game, eleven carries for sixty three yards to
a touchdown with one reception and one target for four yards.
John at the half. Next Gen Stats reported on how
snow is affecting play. It was the slowest average max
route speed of eleven point eight miles per hour, the
(33:45):
fourth slowest combined pass rush get off of one point
one seconds, and thirty percent of runs for ten plus yards,
the highest in the NFL. W g R sal Capaccio reported,
and again talking about adjustments, that's what this Bill's team
has done differently, where before offensively it was just hammer, hammer, hammer,
hammer hammer, or defensively it was well, our game plan
(34:08):
is to do this, but we're getting our asses kick,
so we're just going to keep doing this. Buffalo ran
fifty six total offensive plays on Sunday night. The first
six they ran all out of shotgun, gain twelve yards.
Of the next fifty plays, they ran only twelve out
of shotgun, thirty under center and gained three hundred and
sixty yards. Offensive coordinator Joe Brady said, essentially, footing was
(34:28):
one of the reasons for the adjustment. Running straight ahead
and downhill versus having to go lateral and start and
stop helped nine surprise.
Speaker 1 (34:36):
Joe Brady's a head coach next year somewhere.
Speaker 2 (34:39):
I can't imagine that he would at least get interviews,
but again, we will will see because we've seen guys
like Ben Johnson in Detroit say I want to be
a head coach, but I want to see this through first.
We'll run across that bridge. We get there. Nine different
players are recorded at least one target on Sunday the Bills. Again,
we're without tight end Dalton kin Kaid who has a
knee injury, and wide receiver Keyn Calemen with the wrist injury.
(35:01):
Wide receiver Mac Hollands one reception on one target for
seven yards and a touchdown. His seven yard touchdown catch
was his fourth of the season time a career high
set in twenty twenty one and twenty twenty two. And yes,
for those who did not catch a pregame mack Hollins,
a man of his word, showed up at one Bill's
drive with no shoes on, walking through the slush and
snow barefoot. Wide receiver Amari Cooper, this is a fun one.
(35:25):
Three receptions on three targets targets for twelve yards. Still
looks like he's recovering from the wrist injury of his own,
but he played it. His one hundred and fiftieth career game.
John His lateral catch to Josh Allen for that rushing
touchdown was the seventh hundred catch of his career very memorable. Wow,
makes Cooper the sixty second player in league history with
seven hundred plus receptions. His career stats are as follows.
(35:45):
One hundred and fifty games played, seven hundred and one
receptions on one thousand, one hundred and forty four targets
for eight hundred and seventy two yards and sixty three touchdowns.
Not bad for at all.
Speaker 1 (35:58):
That's that's you know, that's insane to me. And then
you know, we talk about all of the different stats.
I mean, you know, how many players have played in
the National Football League since inception.
Speaker 2 (36:11):
To be a lot of sixty two.
Speaker 1 (36:12):
Not many people, right, And to be number sixty two
on that of all of the people that have played,
that that's something pretty special. So, you know, kudos to
Amari Cooper for modeling consistency there and bringing that with
him here to Buffalo as well.
Speaker 2 (36:29):
Quickly running through wrapping up the defense and special teams
before we take a commercial break, Buffalo had one sack,
three fumbles or covered, five tackles for losses, one pass defended,
and one quarterback hit. They slowed brock Party to eleven
completions for ninety four yards. Christian McCaffrey was running having
a field day, essentially seven point six yards per carry,
but left with a PCL injury and looks like he
(36:49):
maybe out the rest of the season. Defensive end Greg
Russo recorded a sack. He has six and a half
this season, leading all Buffalo pass rushers and taking it
away for at my time on Twitter. With three takeaways
and no giveaways. Buffalo now has a turnover balance of
plus seventeen, the highest through twelve games in team history.
Buffalo has only finished the season once with a higher
(37:12):
turnover balance. That was plus nineteen in nineteen sixty five. So, again,
going back to the Josh Allen conversation of why is
he the most valuable player before he was a turnover merchant,
we know that, but as we've talked about ad nauseam
at this point, John, you take the good with the
bad because the good is really good and the bad
as an arm punt. Where this year the good has
(37:34):
been really good and the bad hasn't been really bad
at all because he's been much smarter with the football,
which has allowed the team to grow and be much better.
So again, I'm not going to die in that hill
because we got to take a commercial break, But just
keep that in mind when you're talking about your most
valuable player in the National Football League. Put some respect
on Josh Allen's name.
Speaker 1 (37:55):
And I don't know too many people that I don't
know too many people that aren't putting respect on his name.
But yes, they should have, absolutely be putting respect on
that man's name. Give that man his flowers now while
you have him, you know.
Speaker 2 (38:08):
But that being said, we'll be back right after this
quick commercial break with more Trust the Podcast here on
the Gear Radio Network. And we're back here on Trust
the Podcast. Around the NFL brought to you by Go
Frost Yourself. John, take it away.
Speaker 1 (38:22):
Oh, this is one of my favorite, favorite, favorite, favorite
favorite moments of the podcast. To let you all know
that this Around the NFL segment is brought to you
by go Frost Yourself. They are located in Rochester, New York.

Speaker 1 (39:07):
Or how to try one of their incredible cinnamon rules?
What can I do? Glad you asked that question, buddy.
If you're local, you can visit Go Frost Yourself storefront
at twenty five forty four Ridgeway Avenue or at go
frost Yourself dot com. And now now what now.
Speaker 4 (39:24):
Where we're going?
Speaker 2 (39:24):
We're going to go for Yourself.
Speaker 1 (39:26):
No, we're going over to our unpaid intern, the Holy
Jackwagon or Elvagon, the Holy jack Chris Downey for around
the NFL.
Speaker 4 (39:35):
Take it away, Chris, Thanks Ronning John. Now here's a
look around the NFL. Beginning on Thanksgiving Thursday, Detroit thankful
that Chicago does not know how to manage a game clock.
Late in the game, Chicago had a chance to drive
down and kick the game time drive or potential game
winning touchdown, but the lines escaped twenty three twenty as
the Bears left the timeout on the board. The Cowboys
(39:56):
at twenty seven to twenty win over the New York
Football Giants, and the Green Packers beat the Miami Dolphins
thirty to seventeen in the night cap. With the loss,
it gave the Bills the opportunity to clinch the AFC East,
which has been discussed. Beautiful opportunity was taken. Thank you
to the Green Bay Packers. We go to Black Friday
and the Chiefs escaped with a win, similar to the
(40:17):
Lions on Thursday. The Chiefs escaped with mismanagement late in
the game, botched fumble, botched snap returned to a fumble
for the Chiefs to recover. You know, a couple of
questions on the call. Should have been a false start
which would have given the Raiders the ball back, or
should it have been the illegal formation which is what
it was called. Chiefs escaped with the win again, improved
(40:39):
to eleven and one and hold the first seed in
the AFC through twelve games. We look down the scoreboard
on Sunday, Panthers barely lose to the Bucks twenty six
twenty three in overtime. Chargers seventeen thirteen victors over the
Atlanta Falcons. The Steelers forty four to thirty eight winners
(41:00):
over the Chicago excuse me, Chicago Cincinnati Bengals. No, the
Bengals are not relocating. The Colts escaped with at one
point victory over the New England Patriots twenty five twenty
four Texans, one of the two losses for the Bills
this year. Twenty three twenty victors over the Jacksonville Jaguars.
They've had an up and down year, the Texans have,
(41:21):
and barely escape with the win. On Sunday Night Football,
the Eagles beat the Baltimore Rings twenty four to nineteen
what some say could be a potential Super Bowl matchup.
Who knows, well, we'll soon find out, but Battle of
the Birds goes to the Eagles on this brisk day
in December, and then Monday night back and forth game
the Broncos forty one to thirty two winners over the
(41:43):
Cleveland Browns. Jamis Winston threw for five hundred yards of
offense almost seven hundred total yards with a pair of
picks sixes. Famous Jamis continues to thrive in the cold,
the winter, the snow, and bless it it'd be for
Jamis Winston. Now we look at the playoff picture, the
Chiefs and the Bills are the only two teams to
(42:05):
have clinched a playoff spot. The Bills are the only
team in the AFC to have clinched their division. Looking
down the board for teams that are in the hunt
and still currently in the playoffs that they will start today,
three seed the Steelers, the Texans sitting at four. Your
wild card spot's taken up by the Chargers, Ravens, and Broncos.
Now you look at who's in the hunt and on
(42:27):
the bubble, you get the Colts six and seven and
second in the South, a couple games back of the Texans.
The Dolphins five and seven, second in the East. They
cannot catch the Bills. The Bills have clinched the Cincinnati Bengals,
not the Chicago Bengals. Cincinnati Bengals four and eight, and
they sit in third in the North. Onto the NFC,
(42:47):
the Detroit Lions are the only team to have clinched
the playoff spot as it stands, sitting twelve and one
in the North. Second place in the North is the
Vikings at ten and two, which is also the same
record as the Eagles. Who sit in second in the
NFC at ten and two, but they have not clinched
their division yet, but have greater than ninety nine percent
(43:08):
chance of making the playoffs. The Seahawks at seven and
five and the NFC West. They are the only NFC
West team currently in the playoffs, as the Cardinals sit
at six and six and a couple games back of
a wild card spot. The NFC South is led by
the Atlanta Falcons at six and six. Both of those
South and West are the mediocre divisions of the year
(43:29):
for the NFC Falcons at six and six in South,
as well as the Bucks at six and six. The
next closest team is the New Orleans Saints at four
and eight. The Commander sit at seventh of the NFC
playoff picture right now at eight and five. Well, the
Packers third in the North, but are nine and four
at the sixth position. The NFC is gonna have some
(43:50):
fun wildcard matchups, as it's slated right now. The ten
and two Vikings would go to the six and six Falcons,
the nine to four Packers would go to Seattle to
face the seven and five Seawk, and the eight and
five Commanders would head to Philadelphia for NFC East battle
against the Philadelphia Eagles. Now, looking ahead to this week
(44:11):
in the NFL, we have some doozies, as you know,
John and Ryan here coming up talking about the Bills
taking on the Rams. You get an AFC East battle
between the Jets and the Dolphins, and the Chargers, who
are eight and four, go to the Kansas City Chiefs
go to Arrowhead, and that could be a potential as
(44:32):
you look down the schedule for an opportunity for the
Bills to take over that top AFC spot. You know
the Bills is they'll talk about they go to the
Lions next week and then they get the Patriots Jets Patriots.
The Chiefs don't have an easy route either, as they've
shown to struggling most games this year, So it'll be
a tight one down the stretch for both the Bills
(44:53):
and the Chiefs. The Bills looked at least hold onto
that number two spot, seeking the number one seed going
into the playoffs. Have the AFC go through Orchard Park. Now,
this has been your on the NFL, John and Ryan
back to you.
Speaker 2 (45:06):
Thanks Chris. We appreciate that.
Speaker 1 (45:07):
John.
Speaker 2 (45:07):
I Every week, man, you you you never cease to
amaze me. I was not sure what you expect there.
Speaker 1 (45:13):
I have to have you, have you begun now. I'm
not looking at the at the at the video board
while I'm doing my whole stick with Go Frost Yourself.
Are you at the point where you're muting now, just
shaking your head saying this guy's an f an idiot.
Speaker 2 (45:26):
No, I love it, I love I love how excited
you get for it. Because again, we're big Frians, big fans,
good friends of Go Frost Yourself, and we love what
they do and we need to continue to support them.
Speaker 1 (45:39):
And really quickly before we go to the look ahead,
I have to channel in b l t D for
this because I really want your opinion on this. I'm
getting a phone call now, f you. Oh wait, I
wonder if it's I wonder if it's a scammer. No,
I'm not gonna. I'm not gonna. I'm gonna. I'm not
taking the bait. But I wanted to bring a little
(46:00):
bit of b l t D flare. And this doesn't
have to be very long winded, just bullet points a
couple of quick feelings on here. You're a baseball guy,
golden at bat rule, What are your thoughts.
Speaker 2 (46:15):
Mister missus Downey, please cover your ears. John I, I
don't even have to say dumb as dumb at its
just dumb as hell, dumb as hell, dumb as hell
O talk about it.
Speaker 1 (46:28):
I thought about it when I heard it, and I
can only summarize it. I can only summarize it with
this thank you.
Speaker 2 (46:37):
Yes one. One picture I saw on TikTok mentioned that
Trevor may Old old old Mets and Athletics picture. Hey,
what if I walk show Heyo Tani and they use
the golden at bat to bring show Hao Tani back
up and we just keep spinning back and forth. I'm
just gonna walk them. I'm just gonna walk them. I'm
just gonna like that's exactly what's gonna happen. But anyways, right,
it's it's it's it's silly or look ahead. Return of
(47:01):
the Micah like return of the Mac game had to
be again cute here on Wednesday morning, The long rumored
We've talked about it on the podcast here as well,
the long rumored signing of safety Micah Hyde the practice
squad took place. Hide can be signed by other teams,
but has long said it's either Buffalo or nothing for
the for the remainder of his career, and he did
(47:22):
confirm that after this season that's it. Retirement papers will
be filed. Now, how did this finally happen, John, because
we've been talking about it for a while. Per The
Sporting News, Michaeh Hyde said he texted Jordan Phillips recently
when he resigned with Buffalo just a few weeks ago.
Phillips asked Hyde when he was coming back, quote, if
they ever need me, give me a call. Hyde replied,
he said, quote, I'm gonna give credit to Big Phil.
(47:43):
He got the ball rolling, and then mentioned quote the
goal has always been to bring a championship to Buffalo.
Speaker 5 (47:49):
So again, now you really want to see it, even
if Michah Hides doesn't that be considering everything from post
Kellierra to the Josh Allen era, right, all of the
talk and all of the things and all of the
low points and all of that to now being a
team to be able to say, you know, what goal
is always to bring a championship to Buffalo.
Speaker 1 (48:10):
I'm coming back for one more. Let's freaking go, and
the team rather like that's something that this team that
already rallies behind itself, can really rally behind too. I
think this is a good thing. Welcome back, Micah Hyde,
Let's get this shit done. Sorry, mister and missus.
Speaker 2 (48:24):
Downey, It's okay, I understand that. And again looking at
because the other thing too here real quick is and
I didn't realize this. I didn't realize it was such
a big number. But it's like it's either fourteen or
sixteen players since leaving Buffalo and signing elsewhere have come
back to Buffalo to play with the Bills against all
(48:45):
Capaccio again of WGR said really good enlightening answer from
Jordan Phillips when I asked him yesterday why he always
seems to be better with Buffalo versus elsewhere. Quote. They
let you do what you are here to do. There's
no outside nonsense. There's no U to worry about making
this person happy. You got to put on a certain
face to make Sean McDermott happy, be on time, be respectful,
(49:07):
and play good football, and you're gonna thrive here in Buffalo.
And that's a real culture thing. It's not about you know, money.
I guess you know you're here to win football. End quote.
Speaker 1 (49:16):
And boy, if you're here ready to win the game.
Speaker 2 (49:20):
If you are not ready to run through a wall
after that, dude, m.
Speaker 1 (49:25):
Home, got nothing for it, man.
Speaker 2 (49:27):
I I again, you hear the things we are hard
on Sean McDermott, because we've we've been through the highs,
the lows, the nines, the elevens, we've been through it
all together here on Trust the podcast. But to hear
players say like, no, the culture is why we're coming back,
like a hide saying I'd rather be in Buffalo than
you know, somewhere warm right now we're retired, I want
(49:51):
to be here. He lives and he lives at home
in San Diego. He came back to Buffalo. He wants
to be here with the team. That's incredible.
Speaker 1 (49:57):
But you know what, that's the thing, and that the
same could be said anywhere in any in any business,
in any you know, and any place of employment that
you're in. If the culture is good, people are going
to want to work with you, People are gonna want
to work for you. People are going to want to
be there, regardless of what else is going on at
(50:18):
this point, at this point in you know, especially in
football now in comparison to maybe when I was growing up,
and the contracts weren't as large and lucrative as they
are now right now, you know, where some geographical challenges
thirty forty years ago would have maybe kept people in,
you know, in programs in warmer weather that may not
(50:41):
have been the best personally for them. Now, with contracts
being what they are, with the NFL printing money like
they are, and people being able to be paid how
they are, you can be in San Diego, living in
San Diego and come to work in Buffalo for you know,
and and people will do that if they won have
a good chance of winning. But in order to have
(51:02):
a good chance of winning, you have to have too
a very very good work culture. And that just has
proof positive of what they're doing off of the field
at or in Orchard Park, off not the not just
the on field product, but behind the scenes where cameras
aren't where when when the normal you know, the normal
world part of what they do comes into play. It's
(51:26):
it's it's all good from top to bottom here.
Speaker 2 (51:29):
So the one thing, maybe it's.
Speaker 1 (51:30):
Just because I'm covering the team with you that I'm
seeing this. I always hear about these types of things
when programs are going well, you know the Patriot way. Right,
at one point in time, it was like this is
what we do. What you know, it's it's like, this
is how we do. You know, the Niners growing up,
and and and the Cowboys teams, you know, those dynasty
teams like that, right, even the Bills in the nineties
(51:51):
had a very very good culture. You know, like this too.
You hear about it. But I guess perhaps for me,
the reason why it's so you know, great to see
and uplifting and fresh and awesome is because it's happening
here and we're actually covering it as it's happening in
real time, from the beginning to where we are now.
So I think there's a little bit more emotional attachment
(52:14):
to me, for me at least with this.
Speaker 2 (52:16):
Yeah, I'm not gonna I'm not gonna jinx it by
putting it out there, but John, I'm just gonna say,
in February, if what happens what we think could happen happens,
I hope you got it. I hope you got some
PTO because you're coming with me.
Speaker 1 (52:32):
Yeah, yeah, I will. I will be making sure to
make the appropriate arrangements and uh and and and be
there for that and possibly podcasting from there would be fantastic.
Speaker 2 (52:44):
We'll we'll figure something out. We'll pull some strings here.
But looking at the injury report with the Buffalo Bills
on Friday, uh there there was every Bill at practice
practicing in some capacity, which is great news for the
stretch run for the Buffalo Bills. Dalton Kincaid has participated
in practice all week in a in a full contact fashion.
(53:05):
Joe Bascalia of The Athletic points out that the Bills
previously have done it where a player will get an
injured player will get a full week of practice and
then sit out that game, but then play the next game,
so he would be back for the Lions game, which
would be huge. But also there's a possibility Dalton Kinkke
could be back this weekend. It looks like Keon Coleman
could potentially be back in the lineup as well, which
(53:27):
is fantastic news. But either way, it's it's the Buffalo Bills.
Week fourteen. The Buffalo Bills at the Los Angeles Rams
four twenty five pm on Fox. The Rams six and
six three at and three at home tied for second
in the NFC West. Last week, a twenty four to
fourteen win at the New Orleans Saints. They've alternated wins
and losses since Week nine, so they went win loss, win, loss, win.
(53:51):
Not just pointing out the obvious here, the next one
would be a loss, which is this game?
Speaker 1 (53:56):
Well, yeah, you know, if I would say, if the
Rams were playing the Jets, they might break that streak.
But I'm I'm among the uh the the numerical amount
that you have yet to uh say of America that
believes Buffalo is gonna beat Los Angeles.
Speaker 2 (54:14):
I I I have to think that you know, yeah, again,
you played it in the game. But also at the
same time, momentum is is a thing, quota, Matt Stafford.
Speaker 1 (54:24):
But then you're talking about too. They're playing at Los Angeles, right,
They're playing They're playing in Los Angeles.
Speaker 2 (54:30):
Yeah, Bills, Bills warm Weather represented.
Speaker 1 (54:33):
Sure, it's gonna the Mafia travels very very very well.
I think it's gonna be It's gonna be a it's
gonna be a good game to watch. I but I
think that Buffalo probably not that they wouldn't have already
had the advantage going in. I just think that with
the conditions, of course being what they will be in
(54:54):
Los Angeles. You're in for showtime, the showtime Buffalo Bills.
Speaker 2 (55:00):
That's fair.
Speaker 1 (55:01):
Quarterback Matt Stafford will be a very good and probably
very easy game for them.
Speaker 2 (55:05):
Twenty nine and eighty three passing yards, seventeen touches, seven interceptions,
having quietly having a really good year statistically, looking to
have the second best year he's had with the Rams
since joining the Rams. He did suffer a lateral ankle
sprain at the Saints, but that's not expected to his
effective availability for Sunday. Running Back Kyrien Williams has third
most carries in the NFL at two hundred and twenty two,
(55:26):
the fifth most rushing yards at nine hundred and twenty six,
and ten touchdowns, tied for seventh in the National Football League.
John ESPN's matchup predictor, sixty three point one percent of
America believes Buffalo will head out west to Los Angeles
and come home with a big dub.
Speaker 1 (55:42):
What are you feeling? How are you looking at this game?
Exactly what I exactly what I said twenty seconds ago.
I'm among the sixty three point one. You know, you
can't really, you can't really discredit any football team, any
pro football team not named the New York Jets. You know,
the Los Angeles Rams do plag well, they do play hard,
(56:04):
and I'm sure they will give Buffalo a, you know,
a decent competition. I just think Buffalo is just riding
such a way of a momentum. And then you take
out that, you know, even the cold elements, they were
riding very very smooth there. You take that out and
you go into comfortable elements like summertime elements almost you know,
(56:25):
or just very It's going to be very fluid for Buffalo.
I'm sorry to any Los Angeles Rams fans that may
be listening to this, but I just if the Rams
win this game, I just I don't see them winning it.
I just think everything is moving very very fluidly and
(56:46):
very very well for Buffalo. I think they have it.
They've connected those dots, and there's not any one person
individual individually. You know, Josh Allen, yes, obviously, is the
main the main event character there. But there's not anybody
else on that offense that you shouldn't be prepared for. Like,
they can spread that ball around, they can make things move,
(57:08):
they can get things done, they can hang thirty on
you very easily. They've done it all but two times
this year. You know, kind of hard to go against
the home team, man.
Speaker 2 (57:24):
I would have to think it's gonna be again the
Buffalo Bills, you know, just continuing the trend of picking
the Bills. I've got no other reason to believe that
they would lose this game. I mean again, ever, given Sunday,
you played to win the game. I don't know how
many more football cliches we can fit in a podcast,
but looking at what the Buffalo Bills have done, how
(57:45):
the Buffalo Bills have been able to adjust. Really, since
those losses to the Ravens and the Texans, the Bills
have been able to adjust to every single football team
that they've played and then subsequently beat those teams. I
don't see much of a difference here. Against the Rams.
It may be a little more difficult because again, Matt
Stafford is a wily veteran and he knows how to
(58:06):
win football games, despite the fact he spent a lot
of his career on a losing football team. But again,
Sean McVay is brilliant there. Finally, after after the GM
said quote f them picks, they're finally you know, getting
draft picks and they're finally bringing in people who can
help this team and kind of rebuild that to to
where it once was. I mean, they don't have Aaron
(58:27):
Donald anymore, so that's that certainly has depleted their defense.
But they're six and six. I mean, there's they're still
in the in the NFC West Race there they can
still win that division, so it's big for them. I
think Buffalo being eyes on, I mean, now that they've
got the the division clinched, the playoff berth clinched, the
next site is set on getting that one seed, and
(58:48):
I think that you're gonna see there's they know that
the blood is in the water, but they have to
keep doing their part. Their part is to continue to
play sound, winning football, and I think that's what we're
going to see on Sunday.
Speaker 1 (59:02):
Thirty five seventeen Buffalo.
Speaker 2 (59:06):
That feels that feels fair. Yeah, thirty five seventeen, thirty
five to twenty something.
Speaker 1 (59:10):
I'll get I say thirty five because the Buffalo's average
is thirty points, you know what I mean, So it's
not out of the realm of possibility for them to
get for them to put up thirty five and hang
thirty five on a team that's allowed that quite a
couple of times this year. Anyways, against them, as far
as the seventeen goes, I can probably see it'll be
(59:32):
thirty five. I would say thirty five seventeen. I don't
think it's gonna be I don't think it's gonna be closed.
I think it'll be played hard, it'll be wrong. I
don't think they the Rams will come in and just
lay down. But I just think the Bills are that
much better.
Speaker 2 (59:46):
No, you got to come out of the gates quick,
and you have to be able to score a lot
of points before the Bills adjust. But the Bills have
been able to adjust very quickly.
Speaker 1 (59:55):
So boy, running out of time here, buddy.
Speaker 2 (59:58):
I don't I don't think that. Where's Boomer?
Speaker 4 (01:00:02):
No One circles the wagons like the Buffalo Bills.
Speaker 2 (01:00:07):
