Gearnetwork dot com. The following is a presentation of the
Gear Radio Network.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
I believe it's a big challenge for our building to
keep things in perspective and to if we're going to
get addicted to anything, let's get addicted to the process.

Speaker 1 (00:21):
And with that we welcome you to Trust the podcast
powered by Better Live Than Dead and the Gear Radio Network.
This year's episode.

Speaker 3 (00:28):
One seventy four, Episode one seven four opening the twenty
twenty five NFL season. Hello, my fabies, if you can
believe it, it is September twenty twenty five.

Speaker 1 (00:44):
As johnnob it flew, I you know it's it's I'll
get into that in just a second. As John mentioned,
we are opening the twenty twenty five NFL season and
more importantly, the twenty twenty five Buffalo Bill's season. You
can hear us on Better Live Than Dead dot Comgear
network dot com, whatever else you listen to podcasts. As always,

(01:04):
with a season rolling up, if you haven't already hit
that subscribe button, make sure you do to stay up
to date on the latest podcast. I am Ryan Wolfe,
joined by my co host as always John Simino and
John to go based off of what you said, Hello, Yeah,
it's weird because the older you get, and this is
something that always was kind of like a little bit
of a of a brain bender for me, maybe just

(01:26):
because my brain is a little slower than some people's.
But when you're a kid, a day feels so long
because it's such a big chunk of your life. Whereas
as you get older, days, weeks, months, they don't feel
as long because it's a smaller chunk of time than
the overall picture of your life. That's about as deep
as I'm going to get today.

Speaker 3 (01:43):
That's a very, very very accurate way of describing that.
That's absolutely picture. I couldn't end anything more to that.
You're absolutely right. When you're a kid, your biggest concerns
are doing your homework and going out and playing or well,
I mean, at least back in my day. Now it's
like roadblocks and stuff like you.

Speaker 1 (01:59):
Yeah, you're sitting in class and you're like, oh man,
it's been forever and you look at the clock and
it went from eight thirty to eight thirty five, and
you're like, dude, I'm gonna I'm gonna go chew on
some lead here. I'm trying to keep it. But then
here isn't.

Speaker 3 (02:11):
But then here as an adult, it's like, you know,
you got to fit this in with when do I
take the garbage out?

Speaker 1 (02:16):
When I do the wash? Dude, unpaid Chris down. You'll
call me and I'll be like, oh, it's been fifteen
minutes and it's a forty five minute to an hour
long conversation. I'm like, damn, where'd the time go?

Speaker 4 (02:25):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (02:25):
Right? Exactly, That's why you you slow yourself down with
stuff like this, with with podcasting, with watching the bills,
with you know, paying attention to your kids and growing
up with I'm not I'm not gonna lie.

Speaker 3 (02:36):
That's exactly the reason why there's not very many podcasts
coming my way from the JC Money Show or whatever,
because it's just I don't have the time any longer.
It Yeah, seems I barely have time to executively produce.

Speaker 4 (02:48):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (02:49):
I mean, I want to hang out with mister Perez,
but I feel like every time it's like the time
he has free, I'm like, oh I got a birthday
party or I'm going on the town or whatever the
situation may be. So like, I mean, if I haven't
seen that bastard in a long time, but.

Speaker 3 (03:02):
I know I will if don't feel bad because I
haven't either, and and and he's family, so it's like,
come on, man, but no, it's just adults are adulting men,
and and that's you know, largely why I haven't really done.

Speaker 1 (03:15):
I haven't. I haven't even had space for wrestling.

Speaker 3 (03:18):
And now that's a different subject. I think maybe either
later on or a different podcast as far as my
wrestling journey is concerned right now. But I haven't really
had a whole lot of time for that. But my
roles kind of expanded behind there then we know, we
talking about the JC money name has recently expanded to
different avenues as well, and only that's bringing in a

(03:39):
lot of traffic. I wish brother, no one wants my feet,
my feelings.

Speaker 1 (03:44):
But but I.

Speaker 3 (03:45):
Mean, just so, it's been a lot of girl. It's
it's not been for you know, being lazy. It's just
so there's only twenty four hours in a day.

Speaker 1 (03:55):
It's the same reason. It's the same reason that you've
not seen much on Better Live than Dead dot com.
You've not seen much on my I mean X, I
don't I use X to go check the sports news
to make sure I'm up to date. Still because a
lot has come over to Blue Sky, but there are
still things that it's very easy to pull all the
information we need from X and you know, throw tantoes
at me. I deserve it whatever, But I don't post

(04:17):
a ton. I don't post a ton on Facebook, don't
post a ton on Instagram, because again, I'm out there
living my life and I'm not I'm not dogging on
anybody who does it a different way. No, that's just
I think John and I get together. Sorry, John, we
get together to do this every year. We love doing it.
We're gonna do it for as long as we feel
we need to. Uh, We're happy to be back. I'm

(04:39):
happy to be back. And I feel like John, you're
you probably are happy to You're moderately fine with being here.

Speaker 5 (04:44):
I am.

Speaker 3 (04:45):
I am moderately fine. I this is where I stare.

Speaker 1 (04:49):
At my my fate pen and I'm like.

Speaker 3 (04:52):
This is not b LTD after dark, So I get
I have to keep keep it tray. Although I will
tell you if you ever want to see site pertaining
to the Buffalo Bills game, like, I love our nucleus
that we have here. You are the best in the business,
stat guy wise, and we got the unpaid intern that
will hit up all the you know, different areas of

(05:13):
the NFL. And then you have your resident freaking pothead
in me that what that just gets completely baked and
watches the Bills games. And coming from that angle, it
seems to work very well.

Speaker 1 (05:24):
Hey, hey man, they legalized it and now we talk
about it. It's great.

Speaker 3 (05:28):
Now I'm openly listen, marrild this is another podcast for
another day. But all you Bills fans out there that
can feel me, you'll feel me when I say this.
But this damn that damn thing going legal save my life.

Speaker 1 (05:41):
So I'll tell you what. I know you. I know
you use bait pens, but I wish, and this is
maybe more of an off top. I use everything. Dude.
I'm gonna have to get you on Etsy every time
I go on to like buy c gifts for my
wife because I love Etsy's great. You can get the
coolest stuff there. Yeah, someone has made and if you're
out there listening, please let me know they have made
a chicken wing bowl that you can smoke out of.

(06:05):
You can smoke out of. Take that.

Speaker 3 (06:08):
I also myself, listen, I do the flower brother, So
I'm all good with.

Speaker 1 (06:13):
H with that stuff too. I'll have to send you
a picture, John. I bought one night. I was just
you know, perusing the internet as I do and buying
dumb stuff as I do. I bought myself a chicken
wing drum necklace good luck necklace for the for the
season coming up. So I hope it brings a lot
of luck. My wife said, what the hell is that
you do? You know what I've been. I'm such a

(06:33):
shit here, sorry, mister missus Downey. I have fallen.

Speaker 3 (06:40):
Victim to the TikTok uh shop. And there was one
thing that jumped out at me at TikTok shop and
I'm like, okay, come on, you know.

Speaker 1 (06:51):
And we always and they're all like all those ads.

Speaker 3 (06:53):
On the TikTok shop TikTok shop are the same. They
start with something that like a subject that has absolutely
nothing to do with the product they're selling, and then
they go into this like crazy, like oh wow, look
at this beautiful this this thing, it just works magnificently.

Speaker 1 (07:06):
Imagine that.

Speaker 3 (07:07):
Where'd you get it? I got it on the TikTok shop.
But it's all stupid, right, And but the wireless car
Play adapter I had to get. I had to try
it because it was like ten bucks and I have
I don't have wireless car.

Speaker 1 (07:23):
Play built into my my Rav four. So I said,
screw it.

Speaker 3 (07:27):
I'll spend the ten dollars and if I'm out ten bucks,
I'm out ten bucks, you know whatever, right, Sure, I
ordered the thing. It comes God dang Ryan if I
if it didn't work exactly as advertised.

Speaker 1 (07:39):
I love that. It's freaking great.

Speaker 3 (07:41):
I was blown away by it. I'm like, Okay, the
stupid TikTok shop commercials aside, like the kids are like
they're They're like, yeah, I mean, why wouldn't it work?

Speaker 1 (07:51):
That's why we're selling it?

Speaker 3 (07:51):
Type deal, like almost as if to say, why would
we in this generation give a crap about scamming anybody
that this is a product that works by And I
was like, and I bought it, and.

Speaker 5 (08:02):
It sure shit did what it's supposed to do. So
I was like, oh that for you?

Speaker 3 (08:06):
So hell yeah, man, I have wireless car play in
my car now. Thank you, TikTok.

Speaker 1 (08:12):
I love that.

Speaker 3 (08:12):
I love talk dot com slash. I am JC money.
For those of you that want to follow my shenanigans
on TikTok which aren't really anything, but I don't know
random fair.

Speaker 1 (08:21):
Hey, I don't have TikTok anymore, but I did find
a way to watch TikTok's on my phone without having
a log in, which is pretty cool because I can't.
I can't seem to do that with X. You got it?

Speaker 3 (08:31):
Like, there are some things in X that you and
Chris will send me that I can see, and then
there are other things where no.

Speaker 1 (08:38):
Matter what trick I try, I can't see it. You
just tell me and I'll record my screen and send
it to you next time. Oh awesome, perfect, Thank you
our rundown here, You're welcome. I run down here. The
preseason is complete. The final episode of Hard Knocks drops
this evening in the NFL season opens on Thursday night
in Philadelphia, John Before we jump into our three big
things we were going to talk about Hard Knocks. We're

(09:00):
gonna do like an episode by episode, but honestly, it
has been relatively tamed. There's been some good stuff, but
I believe, I believe the issue here is that I
feel like, and I've not heard anything about this or
seen anything about this, but it seems like the Buffalo
bills are were willing to do hard knocks to get

(09:21):
it out of the way, like you know, a nice
breaker at a new job with like who wants to
go first, We'll just do it and get it done
and over with, right. But it feels it definitely feels
like the Bills. I don't know if they agreed to
it or pushed hard for it or whatever, but the
final edit is very Buffalo Bill's friendly, and I think
and there's always a tie back to Buffalo, but ex

(09:42):
Buffalo Bill, I believe it was Assistant General manager now
GM of the New York Giants Joe Shane, who showed
his entire bare ass on an off season episode of
the off season Hard Knocks with the New York Jets
or the New York Jets New York Giants, I'm sorry,
where they openly talked about he can't afford to bring
Saquon Barkley back, blah blah blah blah blah. He goes

(10:04):
on to have one of the greatest seasons the running
back has ever had, and they have like a bunch
of horses asses collectively, So teams don't want to do
that anymore. It seems to be very common at MetLife
there Yeah, it runs.

Speaker 3 (10:17):
It's something in the water, like if you're a team
at MetLife, you're kind of like doom, like the Jets,
the Giants. He can even go back to when the
XFL rebirthed and it was the New York Guardians. Remember
those guys. Yeah, they they all were just I don't
know if it's like well MetLife Stadium just in general,
like it's it's it's it's nice when I went there,

(10:38):
But I don't know.

Speaker 1 (10:39):
If it is definitely because they are in New Jersey
but claim to be in New York could very well
be it too. Now John, once again for another season
our friends over at Buffalogo. They are sponsoring our three
Big Things being again brought to by Buffalogo. They're a
Buffalo based marketing and merchandising company that specializes in screen printing, broidery,

(11:00):

Speaker 3 (11:24):
Let me let me just say this because I did
get some feedback about the Buffalo Go Co instagram, So
I'm going to spell it out for y'all so that
way you have it. It's b U F F A
L O g O c O one word that is
the spelling for the instagram for buffalogo.

Speaker 1 (11:42):
And trust the trust the processes, Trust the process. Two
t's after not one T. Just to make sure if
you have.

Speaker 3 (11:49):
Any problems U E T H E p R O
c E s S. We could probably put that in
the episode descript p H A n K S. That's
you know what that that should be that I think Ryan,
I'm making an executive now.

Speaker 1 (12:02):
We can make we can update, we.

Speaker 3 (12:03):
We'll pop it in that, We'll pop it in the
episode description.

Speaker 1 (12:07):
Let's go for it. Well, hey, our first of the
three big things here, fifty three men on a roster
as it happens to be. That's how football teams are built.
UH wide receiver Tyrrell Shavers I had arguably one of
the best camps of all the Buffalo Bills in at
Saint John Fisher Training Camp. Absolutely off season, thirty year
pro breaks camp on the fifty three man roster for
the first time after a banger of a training camp

(12:29):
for Rochester's Democrat and Chronicle quote. In the three games
as Shavers caught six passes for one hundred and twenty
three hours and a touchdown. Just as important, the coaching
staff tested on special teams because the non starting receivers
have to contribute in that area. Shavers played a total
of twenty four special team snaps, split between all four
core units, kickoff returning coverage, part returning coverage, and he
was involved in three tackles, which was a good sign.

(12:51):
Now that actually, John is one big reason why when
the Bills lost Maxwell Harrison, which we'll talk about here
in a little bit and Tredavious White, which we'll talk
about here in a little bit. Uh, cornerback Russeuell Douglas
was not brought back ended up signing with the Miami
Dolphins simply because Russeell Douglas only plays cornerback with guys
like Tyrrel Shaver's young guys who are nimble, athletic, et cetera. Uh,

(13:17):
They're not gonna He's not gonna play. He's not gonna
be a guy. I mean, if if he does, he
probably could step up and do it and get you know,
fifty and I don't know, fifty and five hundred or
five touchdowns whatever, But m hm, he's going to have
a role. But he's gonna be playing special teams as well.

Speaker 3 (13:32):
Yeah, as long as as long as he can catch
the ball and he's serviceable and any any you know,
protects it, he can make any any of his shots count.
And I can tell you just having seen some of
him in the preseason two he should. He has signs
you know he could.

Speaker 1 (13:47):
I mean, he won a job with that that catch
and Tampa Bay exactly. That's what I'm talking about.

Speaker 3 (13:52):
And it's and it's like, so he he shows that
he has that ability and it's just gonna be up
to him to make the most of whatever opportunities come
his way. This being the type of offense that it
is under Josh Allen, you know, he's going to get something.
He's going to get some opportunities. So if he makes
the most out of those, he may get more. You know,
you look at some of the other receivers that have
come through the system and they all kind of started

(14:15):
very similarly, where you know, they did the best they could,
They did what they could, and they expanded their roles.
As the season goes on, It'll be interesting to see
how he develops and what that passing attack starts to
look like. When injuries, you know, heal and they start
getting back to full strength again and things like that
and make their runs that they usually do late season

(14:37):
into the playoffs.

Speaker 1 (14:39):
So that's one thing for me this year with the
Buffalo Bills, and I did not pop up their depth chart,
So I'm doing that right now. I also want to
mention too that if excuse me, I sound stuffy, you
probably should know by now that podcast season for Ryan
means I'm going to have a cold season because John,

(15:02):
I'm not kidding you. Last week this showed up and
I thought to myself, God, damn it, why does this
always happen to me? I think last I think last year,
like seventy for the entire season, seventy five percent of
the episodes. I sounded like, I don't know, if you
know comedian Dan Soder, He's got a very deep, very
noticeable voice, recognizable voice. I felt like that where I'm like,

(15:24):
I'm gonna listen back to these podcasts in the future
and go who was that guy? Because that definitely wasn't me.
I know, I don't have the deepest voice. But looking
at the bill's depth chart right now, I mean wide receiver,
You've got Khalil Shakir who's returning from a high ankle,
Sprain key On Coleman, Joshua Palmer, Okay, great. There's then
Elijah Moore, Curtis Samuel, and Tyrell Shavers. That's it. So

(15:48):
there's opportunity there for a guy like Tyrell Shaver's to
step up. I mean, Curtis Samuel, I feel like he's
getting another shot because of guaranteed money. Elijah Moore I'm
pretty sure has guaranteed money, which is a big reason
why he stuck around as well. But again, uh, there's
I would love on a rainy day, John to sit

(16:08):
down and go through all of the wide receivers that
josh Allen has thrown to, like completed a pass two
in his career. Just break down to just break down.
There's never been like a I mean again apples to oranges.
But he's never had a Travis Kelce to fill the
ball to. He's never had a I don't know. John,

(16:29):
Tom Brady had Julian Edelman like stuff like that, he's there.
There could be that guy. Khali O Shakir could be
that guy. Kean Coleman could be that guy. Dalton Kin
Kid could be that guy. Sure, but there's there's never
been a guy where it's like, oh, you're really good.
That guy's also really good. Awesome. I love to see that,
so again, opportunity to step up for a young player
like Tyrrel Shavers. I. I feel like the Buffalo Bills

(16:53):
don't like to waste roster spots, so if he's here,
he's gonna play in some fashion. I don't know how much,
but we always love a good story. Especially. The one
thing we overlook John is that because the Bills return
so many starters and so many depth players and have
roles pretty much cemented for a lot of guys going

(17:13):
into camp, it's not easy to break the roster in camp.
Seeing that Sure running down literally running down the offense.
Josh Allen, James Cook, Khalil Shakir, Keon Coleman, Dalton Kin, Kaid,
Reggie Gilliam, Dion Dawkins, David Edwards, Connor McGovern, Osirus Torrents
and Spencer Brown all were starters last year. The only
difference is Joshua Palmer, who is I believe, looking at

(17:37):
this depth chart, essentially wide receiver three. But I believe
he will, as we know, probably line up outside and
you'll put a Shakir in the slot or whatever they
decide to do. But again, there's a lot of guys returning,
so you really got to step up and step out
and show up, which he did, which Tyrrel Shavers did,

(17:57):
and and good and good for him.

Speaker 3 (17:59):
You know you'll love to see those types of things happening,
you know, I mean again, he had a chip on
his shoulder and earned his way on his roster.

Speaker 1 (18:08):
That's the story you love, you know, you love to
see it for him. And he's been around since he
since he came out of college. He's he's been on
the practice squad, been taking his lumps and learning and
growing and finally did enough to again earn a spot.

Speaker 3 (18:19):
Well, that's how you car out a career in this league.
You gotta be flexible, and you got to be able
to kind of next man up and do whatever's asked
and do it as best you can as possible.

Speaker 1 (18:28):
Again, Yeah, for every Josh Allen, there's there's ten guys
that are just literally, hey, I'm going to go play
my quiet career and you know, get money and make
make a life out of this. Right. Absolutely, Defensively, there
is a bit of a log jam. The Buffalo Bill
started the season with ten defensive linemen and but two
of those defensive linemens, so they have twelve, but they
got down to ten because Larry Ogunjobi and Michael Hoit.

(18:51):
I always have to remember because there's there's Yokin Hash,
which they're both spelled. I'm pretty sure either the same
yokin Hash is spelled differently, but that's how I thought
the name was pronounced, because you know me master of
name pronunciation on this podcast.

Speaker 3 (19:04):
Something like that, I couldn't. I read that a few
times and I'm like.

Speaker 1 (19:08):
I have like a four percent success rate when it
comes to pronouncing names. So Michael Hoyt currently job oken joby.
I love. I always just to love when you see
the Steelers play and you see that name, I'm like,
that's a that's an all time name. Both those players
are serving a four game suspension.

Speaker 4 (19:24):
Now.

Speaker 1 (19:24):
When those suspensions are served, hard questions have to be
asked John, because there have been rumblings that Ogajoby could
be released post suspension, but that's just conjecture at this point,
because my thought would be like if they were going
to cut him out when they do it before the suspension.
But I digress. But looking at the current defensive line
prior to this weekend, I say that because again little

(19:45):
nugget coming up here. Current defensive line Daikwon Jones at Oliver,
Dwayne Carter, rookies T J. Sanders and Dion Walker at edge.
You've got Greg Russo, Joey Bosa, Ajpanessa, Javon Solomon, and
rookie Landon Jackson. Now Dwayne Carter heading to the season
ending IR with a torn achilles, which could likely save
ogun Jobi's job if there was any doubt, right, But

(20:08):
kind of where I was going with that too, I mean,
there's there's gonna be because the bills. They have not
made a movie yet as far as I've seen. But
I also again don't pay much attention. It's I don't
pay I don't start paying daily attention to the news
really until Thursday. Yeah, I meme, that makes sense, But well,

(20:29):
I guess this week I really like probably tonight at
once we get off the podcast, I'll probably start perusing
the internet and combing through things like I always do,
release the.

Speaker 3 (20:38):
Podcast first before you do that, because every time you
do that, the podcast becomes obsolete.

Speaker 1 (20:44):
So taking the podcast back and do it. I agree,
taking a step back working on my mental health because
my physical health, my physical fitness. I'm gonna get myself
a bit of a bit of a tap on the
back here. I've am down almost twenty pounds. I got
some sick muscle. Bro, I'm looking look toy, right, So

(21:06):
I've got my physical Thank you. I'll take a picture
of myself with all my clothes off later I'll send
it to you.

Speaker 3 (21:11):
Oh boy, on my own nap.

Speaker 1 (21:13):
You didn't even have to ask. I'll do it for
your your That's how close we are. We're good friends,
we're family over here. It's like I don't know, uh,
but mentally, like, how can I get my mental health
and order? You gotta sleep good? And with a house
with a three year old, almost a three and a
half year old, almost four year old, and a one
almost one and a half year old, sleep is a premium,

(21:34):
right because they climb into bed, they wake up whatever
you sleep like hell and a half. Wouldn't trade it
for the world, though, But how can I fall asleep?

Speaker 4 (21:41):
Better?

Speaker 1 (21:41):
Don't play on my phone right put my phone on
my little nightstand charger gimmick. Uh so I hear my
alarm go off, which fat chance of that ever happening.
And I'm reading books at night, even though it's on
a tablet, I'm reading books at night. So I'm trying
to make sure that I'm winding down, kind of letting
my brain slow down to the point where I'm like, Quoma,
go a sleep. So I've been trying to do I've

(22:01):
been trying to do that lately. So I will I
will long story short, start to put more sports stuff
in there, just to kind of get before I start
to read run through and go yeah, cool, great, awesomely
takes notes, awesome, whatever fantasy.

Speaker 3 (22:14):
To your sports stuff before the wind down, keep the
wind down, practice going, because honestly, you know in hearing
about how young your kids are and they're climbing into
the bed and stuff like that. And now I'm at
a point where I have someone my oldest is going
into high school and my youngest is almost in middle school.
If they were in a different district, they would be

(22:35):
they would have been high school or middle middle school
like today. But you know, obviously now at this point
in the game, that doesn't happen anymore.

Speaker 5 (22:45):
So you know, it kind of stinks.

Speaker 3 (22:49):
I mean, I'm sure that I don't have to, you know,
kind of wake up in the middle of the night
all the time, you know, but there's a there's a
part of me.

Speaker 1 (22:56):
That misses that.

Speaker 3 (22:57):
And but you know, being where you are in in
in your you know, stage of parenthood right now, any
possible bit of wind down time that you can give
yourself that's going to equal sustainable mental health throughout the

(23:18):
growth period until the point where they're finally not dependent
on you or doing that type of stuff at night
and then and then once that happens, then you really
can get on a real good game plan for sleep
and stuff. So Good News Health Talk Weekly again.

Speaker 1 (23:35):
We're we are we are just ramping the thing back
up here because you know what's gonna happen now. Not
only I didn't give everybody the chance to say what Ryan,
So you can say what Ryan out your to your
radio if you'd like to what Ryan now to your radio,
if you'd like to thank you. Uh, is that John
and I will now talk throughout the week like we're podcasting,
because that's just what happens. Like we get on this,

(23:56):
John and I we talk a lot in the trust
of the podcast text message chain, in the Gear network
text message chain, but it's a lot of just quick
back and forth snippets blurbs, Hey John, check this out.
Hey Chris check this out. Hey Lewis check us out.
But then once we get started, and it literally like
right after this podcast, I'm already I'm already starting to
feel it now where I'm like, we're just right back on.

(24:17):
We just got off the highway. We just get back
an easy pass and or get back on the HOV
lane and we're just cruising and cruise control here. Indeed,
so we will again, We'll bring you everything here, we'll
talk all about whatever. But what I wanted to say
was that perks of the unpaid intern is that Chris
will actually come to your house, tuck you in bed,
and lay in your bed with you if you'd like
him to. He doesn't know this until he hears this,

(24:38):
but I did volunteer him, So please make sure you
use that to your advantage. So yes, he loves the
spoon can either confirm nor deny cornerback Maxwell Harriston, Harriston
starting the season on the io or the designation of
maternal miss at least the first four games did have
a knee injury during camp. I don't know necessarily because
again breaking down the fourth wall, have only kind of

(25:00):
been paying attention. I believe he's getting closer, but we
all know it's it's like my wife's grandmother asked me
over the weekend, how do you feel about the Bills
this year? And I said, look at make the playoffs,
stay healthy for the playoffs, and then go from there
like there's no worry about because again, even if the
Bills face plan, it's very hard to miss the playoffs

(25:25):
in the NFL because there are so many teams now
in the NFL playoffs. Yeah there's seven, there's seven teams
like you, The Bills could, for lack of a better explanation,
step on step on their nuts and still make the playoffs.

Speaker 3 (25:39):
Right like well right because they I mean they're in
their division. Their division is not very strong right now anyways,
So long think that you know, at minimum a wild
card spot for them is very very attainable.

Speaker 1 (25:51):
Long story short, Maxwell harriston the first four games is
not the most important, right, it's getting him in, getting
him healthy, yeah, and working from there and having a
guy like to Davis White, as we've seen in Hard Knocks,
but also just from the interviews from from the people
reporting on it, low key brilliant move because again, you

(26:13):
see a guy like t Davis White come in, He's
torn his achilles, he's blown out his knee, he went
through a rough time in La, came back, went or
went over to Baltimore in a trade, and finally started
to understand how he could play again with his older body,
with his with his recovered but injured body. Because again, John,
you know, and I'm starting to understand as well that

(26:34):
even though at an older age, because you know you
and I at this point, I mean, you are a
retired NFL player. I'm like in the back nine of
my quote unquote NFL career where if I hurt myself,
I'm I'm quote unquote one hundred percent in four to
six weeks, but I'm feeling that for like ten.

Speaker 3 (26:53):
To twelve, feeling it for a while, and you know
it's it's honestly, you're one hundred percent right there. So
I earlier I alluded to my wrestling journey and and
the in ring portion of it. I haven't wrestled since
March in ring because I had a foot injury that
took forever forever to finally get cleared, and then once

(27:18):
that happened, being old, the other foot started acting up.
So that's kind of kept me out there. Not that
I'm angling to get back in the ring right now.
I'm pretty kind of content with where I'm at. But
you know, as you get older, these injuries they they
they take, they take, they do take its toll on you.
So I mean, like you know, going back to Maxwell
Harriston here, it's a tough break for him, but to

(27:40):
be honest, it's better to have him healthy later in
the season when that when the depth truly matters. Like
we talked about earlier about the legendary runs that this
Buffalo Bills team tends to go on kind of midway
to the end of the season where they're just destroying everybody,
Like that's when you want him healthy for this over
lining I suppose for all of this though, with his injury,

(28:03):
is that you know, young, young guy, younger guys can
actually have some reps a little earlier on during meaningful
games to build up that equity so that way, you know,
next man up type thing. So it's not the worst thing,
especially being earlier in the year. It still stinks for
you know, Max, Kurt, you don't want to you don't
want anybody to be injured. But in the same you know, organizationally,

(28:27):
now would be the time for to have something like
that happen in the beginning of the season as opposed
to the end.

Speaker 1 (28:32):
And this is something too again we're going to talk
about real quick, getting the band back together. H cornerback
Dan Jackson was waved off of the seventy five whatever
man roster, ninety man roster, whatever was at the time,
but he was added to the practice squad. The Buffalo
Bill signed safety Jordan Poyer to the practice squad. These
are these are those tredevious White type moves, these low key,

(28:54):
brilliant moves where Jackson and Jackson employer still want to
prove that they can play. They feel like they still
belong the National Football Again in some sense of the
of the of the word, they do. But there's not
a spot right now in the Bills roster, but they
they want to prove that they are still capable to
play in the NFL. But at the same time, who
knows this team is defense better than guys like Dan

(29:18):
Jackson and Jordan Poyer. The Buffalo Bills have a young
safety in Cole Bishop who's when healthy, been okay. But
there's there's some growth you want to see there. A
guy like Jordan Poyer can help out with that, and
god forbid something comes up there he is.

Speaker 3 (29:34):
This is one of those low key, like under the radar,
brilliant moves, just because you're basically bringing in player coaches,
their player coaches at this point in time, like they
still want to be able to prove that they're capable
of playing at a high level, and they probably can.
But in the meantime, like they're mentoring the guys in

(29:54):
that room, and that right there from a coaching perspective.
As you know, I'm sure McDermot would probably tell you
if he calls into our podcast at some point, he
probably appreciates that very much. You know, you hear about
these veterans coming in. You know, Aaron Rodgers, everybody loves
to rag on him. But the same thing with Joe

(30:17):
Flacco even like you know, you can you get like
those older quarterbacks that are going to these different teams now,
they're kind of going in under the player coach role
type deal. Seem punkin the WWE affectionately refers to himself
as a player coach right now, where he's you know,
helping kind of behind the scenes as well with some
of the younger talent while still performing. This is one

(30:38):
of those types of situations too. I think it's a
great move for them to do.

Speaker 1 (30:41):
That, and it's I feel like it all started with
Michael Hyde last year that went pretty west yep, and
you continue again, it's thinking, it's thinking outside the box,
it's weaponizing the of the the the resources that you have.
Team captains Josh Allen was the offensive captain to El
Bernard named the defensive captain. It's Allen's seventh year row
being name team captain, Bernard second straight year being named

(31:02):
a team captain, and it's his second time overall. Before
we move on as well, the top one hundred players
of twenty twenty five was released. Finally, the final ten
was released. Josh Allen was voted the third best player
in the NFL by fellow players. As you may know,
this is something the NFL has done for a while now.
Only Baltimore quarterback Lamar Jackson at second overall and running

(31:23):
back for the Philadelphia Eagles Saquon Barkley first were voted higher, which, okay,
that's no argument for me. The top one hundred players
of twenty twenty five as voted on by their I
guess coworkers, their friends, whatever, their peers. Patrick Cirtaan the second,
was voted tenth, Justin Jefferson ninth, Miles Garrett eighth, Derrick

(31:44):
Henry seventh, Joe Burrows sixth, Patrick Mahomes five, Jamar Chase four,
Josh Allen three, Lamar Jackson two, and Saquon Barkley one.
As mentioned again, no arguments there.

Speaker 3 (31:53):
No, not at all. I mean him getting Josh Allen
getting voted the third best player in the league by
his peers honestly says it all. I mean, when you
think about how many players are actually in the National
Football League and then you condense it down to one hundred,
and that out of those one hundred players, you're your
top three. Like I hope that there aren't people, Oh
Josh aones should have gone number one, Like, dude, three

(32:16):
out of one hundred, you know, out of how many
are in.

Speaker 1 (32:19):
Remember that old TV show, Remember that old TV show,
best Begevern VH one. I feel like that was Saquon Barkley,
except like best season ever. He just he just he
really stuck into the man.

Speaker 3 (32:31):
That was like Saquon earned not that he didn't have
a lot of like you know, respect and credibility going in,
but like that solidified him as total freaking stealing an
old Jim.

Speaker 1 (32:44):
Rome bit man's game right there.

Speaker 3 (32:46):
Man for him to do that, so yeah, that you
had to give him number one just for that. And
also you'd love to see the Giants kind of get
you know, kicked in the ding ding. But I mean
going back to the top one hundred, But then you
think about Dion Dawkins, massive respect him going from ninety
six to forty two. Massive respect for one of the
most underrated tackles of the game. James Cook, you know,

(33:09):
get all the hoopla aside from the beginning. He he's
really helped this team and him being on there for
the first time huge milestone for him. And I'm sure
we'll probably see more of him on on that list.
Inching upward and upward. Just you know, let Jim cook,
let Enim Cook his brother. On the other hand, not

(33:31):
on the top one hundred.

Speaker 1 (33:34):
He's in the top one hundred to something else. But
it ain't that all right. So now, for the first
time in the history of Trust the Podcast, we have
decided to do.

Speaker 3 (33:44):
Some hold on, hold on, hold on, let me give that,
let me give the news, let me give the news.

Speaker 1 (33:48):
The news thing ready, he knew. The first time in
the history of Trust the Podcast, here on the your
radio network, we have done something new. You can give
us a call and leave us a voicemail seven one
seven one six two eight nine three oh two. That
is seven one six two one eight nine three oh two.

(34:10):
We will put that in the show description as well. Yes,
and well, John, I'm a little bit worried about this one,
but I we've received our first phone call from my cousin.
Right you're Dan Wolf. Dan, I have not listened to
this until right now.

Speaker 3 (34:28):
Okay, So well here we go seven one six two
nine three oh two, Dan Wolf, you are on the
air with a voicemail.

Speaker 4 (34:35):
Hello, Hey Ryan, Dan, Yeah, thanks for taking my question
on the pod. That was really cool. You what else
was cool. Hearing via your show that I won't see
you in Carolina. Yeah, definitely awesome. Oh and finding out
also from your show that I won't see you in
Cleveland too.

Speaker 1 (34:52):
Yeah? Really cool, dude, I love that.

Speaker 4 (34:55):
Thanks for the heads up. You think I want to
sit in downtown Cleveland in the middle of December. You're
telling you can't nut up and make a weekend trip
to Ohio for me. I have to live here, man,
think about that. Hey, I'm also one of the Bucks
game in Buffalo. You want to commit to that and
back out the next show too? Thank you? Oh my?
Oh and another thing, Tell that unpaid intern or whatever

(35:16):
he is. The next time he flat out ignores my
trade proposal, I'm gonna kick him. It is unpaid dick
and fall geez. Oh yeah. Won't see in Charlotte, won't
see you in Cleveland. Won't see if the Thanksgiving or
Christmas Happy New Year. We'll try again in twenty twenty six.

Speaker 1 (35:33):
Mister and Missus down show. Oh I love you, he
loves you.

Speaker 3 (35:38):
Oh my goodness, mister and missus Downey, I apologize again
to you and you Bryan.

Speaker 1 (35:45):
That was absolutely incredible, John.

Speaker 3 (35:47):
I got to take what do you what do you
say to your cousin? In response there he text me
about that and your cousin that called in not mind.

Speaker 1 (35:57):
He said, I may have I may have gone a
little off the deep end. You know what for the
podcast that was that was tread and water right there.
I really appreciate that because, you know, the last time,
the last time that we went to Cleveland, my wife
and I, uh well, uh, breaking down the fourth wall,

(36:19):
we ended up going out the night before the game
got really really really really really drunk. Me not so much.
Aubrey a lot. I know she you know, she's she's
very good about keeping a lid on. But at one
point she called me, I believe, to my face, a
little bitch in front of everybody on the train because

(36:39):
I wouldn't give her phone to call one of her coworkers.
She was definitely she had a couple.

Speaker 4 (36:44):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (36:45):
But you know then the next day, yeah, the next day,
you know, next day she's got her sunglasses on her
hat and everyone's like, wow, man, you are a warrior,
and she's like, yeah, I feel awful.

Speaker 3 (36:55):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (36:55):
But that game was freezing cold because it's Cleveland, it's
on the lake. The mistake by the lake. They redid it,
you know, but the bills ended up losing late. It
was it was just a slog. It was it was.
It was rough. But but yes, Dan to respond to you,
I love you as well. I appreciate you calling. Uh
Chris Downey does have a pension for ignoring trade requests.
That is correct. Uh So a good call out there

(37:16):
for sure. He told he said he was going to
kick him in his dick and bowl, unpaid, unpaid, He
don't don't get a twisted. That was really good. I'm
very happy that I did not listen to that unil
I got it.

Speaker 3 (37:28):
And I'll tell you what in wrestling terminology that popped me.

Speaker 1 (37:32):
That was freaking hold. That was a shoot. That was
straight up a shoot right there for sure. I mean,
I'm sitting over here, is a okay by me cracking
a smile because that's the other thing too, is he
said something on the lines of like is that too
Do you think it's too much or do you think
you know it's just gonna be? What is it going
to be? And I said, you know, probably just a
normal wolf conversation because we tend to go off. John,

(37:54):
You've been around long enough we go off the rails,
We go off the rails book. I'd love look at it, Dan,
I'd love to get to a game. Okay, I'm trying
to keep an eye on ticket prices, but also be
logical about all of this because I don't want to
leave my wife home with the two kids. Carolina really
wanted to do that, but to fly down there to

(38:15):
maybe go to the game, I don't know. I know
Chris is also going to be disappointed to hear that
as well, But like, I have a lot of guilt
and don't want to just leave my wife and kids
home by themselves. It's not a character flaw. It's the
opposite of a character flaw. Because there are some people
and I know or know of that are just like kids.
Screw them, who cares? They can infend for themselves. It's like, cool,

(38:36):
your kids are like fifteen minutes old. Okay, great, awesome,
I love that for you, all right.

Speaker 3 (38:42):
Well, like there's a there's a balance. There's not a budget.
There's a budget to everything in life. The theory of
budgeting extends just even beyond finances. Time is also something
that you have to constantly work a budget out for.

Speaker 1 (39:00):
And to put it into Dan to use to use
a phrase that Dan said. So I don't feel because
again I'm trying to it's it's about them. I'm not mad.
I'm trying to be calm, cool, collected, but look it,
I don't want to freeze my dick and balls off
for uh. I don't know. It's don't get me wrong,
it's worth it, like going tailgating all day, going to

(39:21):
the game, coming home, it's worth it. I don't want
to do that. I don't I don't mind it. But
what are some of your favorite t what are some
of your favorite tailgate eats? Well again, John, the last
time I went to a Bills game was the weekend
before my birthday. I'd have to find the game, but
Mark Sanchez clapped the Bill's cheeks. It was like forty

(39:45):
one to ten or something like that, and it rained
all day, but it wasn't a heavy rain. It was
like a light rain, missed drizzle. So it's like you're
just miserable and wet there and you're like it's not
raining hard enough to be soaked, but like it won't stop,
just kind of like.

Speaker 5 (40:00):
Get you get soaked over over time.

Speaker 1 (40:02):
Yeah, and then you leave the game. It's four o'clock.
You don't get on until seven. You gotta go to
work or school the next day, whatever it was, because
I can't. It's spend a long time. She was like this,
I can watch on my couch and if the bills
get their asses kicked, I can just go to the
other room and move on my life, right right right, Yeah,
I watched. Not to justify this, but I watch the
game with with my with my girls, and we have

(40:23):
a great time, and we get wild and I throw
them around the house and we sing the shout song.
We have a great time.

Speaker 4 (40:28):
Good.

Speaker 1 (40:29):
But I'd love to get to a game, Dan, And
you know what, I'm gonna take you up on that.
It may not be this year, but you know, why
don't we Why don't we plan something out where I
don't care how much the tickets cost? All right, you
can't John, John, our budget. John, You can't put a
price on family.

Speaker 5 (40:43):
Brother.

Speaker 1 (40:43):
Okay, Well, I mean let's get to there's there are
some people. Let me let me talk to you about
my brother real quick.

Speaker 3 (40:51):
What you what you what you can't I heard that one? Well,
you can't put what you can't put a price on
on is your own mental health and well being.

Speaker 1 (41:03):
Sometimes I was gonna say, I actually can put a
price on bills, tickets. They're pretty goddamn expensive.

Speaker 3 (41:07):
They're expensive, dude, especially the last season at the Ralph
Like that's those things are like you're gonna pay top
dollar to witness bad you know, the bad bathrooms one
more time.

Speaker 1 (41:23):
Hopefully those bathrooms in the new stadium are very pristine.
There is you know they if they do sell things
from the stadium, John, there is one thing that I
really want to get my hands I know. Is it
seats other than parisats, other than Para seats I have
in the bathroom I have not been. I knew it.
I knew it.

Speaker 3 (41:42):
There you were going there.

Speaker 1 (41:44):
There's the troughs. Right, there's a sign on the wall
that says, please do not pee in the sink. Oh
that you want if I can get my hands on
that sign, one of those signs that if they still exist,
that would be the piece of memorabilia I would want.

Speaker 3 (42:02):
All right, Well, listeners, Bill's mafia out there called Arms.
If you see it and it's available rabbit.

Speaker 1 (42:11):
For us, Yeah, give me a call, Give me a
call at seven one zero two, and Dan feel free
to call back. You are more than welcome to call
back anytime. Be mad about the bills. Hey, maybe this
just becomes the segment where Dan calls and gets mad.
I'm cool with that too. I don't care.

Speaker 3 (42:27):
We want more people than Dan call.

Speaker 1 (42:29):
Dan has been a Dan has been a very consistent
and uh great listener. Always will text me about the show,
give me tips, tricks. Hey love to hear more about
this stuff like that, so that way I can go okay, cool,
It's good to It's good to hear from people that
don't just want to hear us ramblin about Dixon balls.
So I love that.

Speaker 4 (42:48):
Dan.

Speaker 1 (42:48):
Appreciate your call and love you, buddy. We will we'll
figure something out.

Speaker 5 (42:52):
Dan.

Speaker 1 (42:53):
That was a great That was a great voicemail.

Speaker 5 (42:54):
Though.

Speaker 1 (42:56):
With that being said, we'll take a quick break after this.
We will be back with more t the podcast here
in the Gear Radio Network. And we're back here on
Trust the Podcast. It's the third of the three Big Things.
And if you have forgotten about it, John, let him
know what time it is.

Speaker 3 (43:10):

Speaker 3 (43:59):
Mel Gibson, Can I get a hooray for that?

Speaker 1 (44:02):
Thank you?

Speaker 6 (44:02):
And now over to your unpaid intern, our unpaid intern,
The Holy One, the Unholy Jackwagon. God dang it, I
gotta stop reading it word by word, The Unholy Jackwagon
Chris Downey for Around the NFL, Take It A by.

Speaker 7 (44:16):
Chris Ryan and John We Are Back is the first
Around the NFL weekly edition took a little break during
the offseason. A couple of things have happened since we've
last talked. First up on the list, a big trade happened.
Michael Parsons is finally out of Dallas. The twenty six
year old linebacker was traded to Green Bay. With that

(44:40):
comes a massive four year, one hundred and eighty eight
million dollar contract. He is the highest paid non quarterback
in the NFL. Just days later, though Cowboys did make
a signing. They re upped Deron Bland four years for
ninety two million. Makes you wonder what was happening with
the Michael Parsons contract to, you know, not give him

(45:00):
a lot of money. Jerry Jones being Jerry Jones, you know,
good for Michaeh stays away from the AFC. Bills really
won't have to see him much unless they're playing Green
Bay now. So obviously we hope Buffalo would have gotten him.
But obviously four years, one hundred and eighty eight million
is a lot of money. Coming into twenty twenty five,

(45:22):
we have a few rule changes to get ready for
as we get ready for football this week. Touchbacks now
to the thirty five yard line, helping to encourage more
returns instead of just waving the hand and getting at
twenty five. Now, the overtime rules. Overtime rules in the
regular season used to be first score wins. Now both

(45:44):
teams will get possession regardless of what happens, so first
team scores a touchdown, the other team.

Speaker 1 (45:50):
Gets a chance to tie.

Speaker 7 (45:53):
Again, a rule change that happened a few years ago,
unfortunately from instances in playoffs. We don't want to talk about.
That happened for the playoffs. Now it's going into overtime.
Another thing that, unfortunately is a result of the Bills
being on the wrong side of a situation. First downs
are being checked with the Hawkeye technology similar to what

(46:17):
you would see in tennis, is now in the NFL
for first downs. We saw a little bit of it
in the preseason. We'll see how it works in the NFL.
Should be pretty close. Again, you still have the human
error of spotting the ball, but one step at a
time and looking ahead, the NFL has been told no
Friday games starting in Week one next year. There's an

(46:42):
old federal law about broadcasting during high school and college
football seasons, and there was a loophole that was able
to They were able to get around for the foreseeable
recent history, I guess, which allowed Friday games for the
NFL and beginning next year that has changed, and so

(47:05):
no Friday games to start the season next year.

Speaker 1 (47:09):
Now, let's look ahead.

Speaker 7 (47:10):
Week one of the twenty twenty five NFL season kicks
off this Thursday, eight twenty pm. NBC and the cock
Cowboys just talked about them going to Philly to take
on Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles and in early conference
divisional battle Friday. We's talked about it last Friday game

(47:34):
for the foreseeable future. To start the season, Kansas City
Chiefs and the Chargers face off in South Paolo, Brazil,
an AFC matchup, NFC matchup. Before Sunday, we look ahead
to Sunday. Of course, you got the Bills Sunday night
against the Ravens. Monday night you have the Vikings and
Bears facing off again. Football is back. Way're back, Ryan

(48:00):
and John as always back to you.

Speaker 1 (48:02):
Thanks Chris. We appreciate that. Man. I'll tell you what, dude,
I may have to say thanks Chris again because I
said a little too loud there. I may have to
cut that. So thank you Chris, because it'll it'll ruin
my overall editing ability. But yeah, I was not expecting
Mel Gibson to make a podcast debut. Congratulations, Welcome to
the world of Trust. The podcast. Yes, yes, ma'am, Mel
Gibson now exists in our cinematic universe.

Speaker 3 (48:26):
I'm slowly incorporating things elements from the JC Money Show
that I haven't been using for the last year into here.
So so yeah, Mel Gibson, welcome.

Speaker 1 (48:35):
I'm also trying to find ho Ray. I love that.
I'm also trying to find a nice little soundboard, So
if anybody out there listening to the podcast has any
ideas on a soundboard that doesn't cost nine hundred million dollars,
I found one, but it costs six hundred ninety nine
dollars and I don't really want to do that right now,
not really my budget. But anyways, Our look ahead, Our
look ahead Week one Buffalo Bills first to Baltimore Ravens, Sunday,

(48:55):
September seventh, on Sunday Night Football. That's eight twenty pm
Eastern Time on ENV. Storylines are as such. John last season,
Week four, September twenty ninth, the Baltimore Ravens absolutely embarrassed
the Buffalo Bills thirty five to ten. It was awful.

Speaker 3 (49:15):
It was as vincemickmhnon would say in the old WrestleMania
game Arcade game in the nineteen nineties.

Speaker 5 (49:21):
It was a total debacle.

Speaker 1 (49:24):
Yeah, it was. It was just the worst. But then
the Bills got the revenge. They exacted their revenge twenty
seven to twenty five in the AFC Divisional Playoffs in
January due to a let's be honest here, let's call
a spade a spade, Mark Andrews dropped the ball which
allowed the Bubble Bills to win. I mean because it
was as that game went on, as we've seen in

(49:45):
the past, the Bills get a leader early and then
kind of just hold on for dear life because their
defense it could have been a little better, could be
a little better. Hopefully we're going to see that coming
up this season.

Speaker 3 (49:54):
They definitely displayed that they played down to their opponent
that game.

Speaker 1 (49:58):
They worked their way down. Yeah. I'm not gonna spend
a whole lot of time talking about this because we've
already spent a whole lot of time talking on the podcast. John,
what is your prediction for Week one for the Buffalo
Bills And also, mm hmm, what's your prediction for the
Bills this this season. We don't have to we don't
have to do playoffs. We can just do regular season.

(50:19):
Bill finishing this year.

Speaker 3 (50:20):
Oh my goodness, I had it. I know we talked
about it a while ago, and it escapes me. So
it might have changed. I'm thinking based on the injuries.
You know, when we're looking at Baltimore's injuries, Isaiah likely
is out or he's questionable with the foot, jay Ara
Alexander new acquisition out of Green Bay to the to

(50:41):
the Ravens, he's questionable with a knee. I really, honestly,
this strikes me as one of those things that Baltimore
may win the regular season game, but Buffalo may have
their number in the playoffs. I think the Buffalo Bills injuries,
particularly on d defense, may show itself a little early.

(51:04):
I would believe Josh Allen to be Josh Allen enough
to keep them in the game and everything, but I
think ultimately the defensive injuries may spell a zero to
one start for Buffalo this week. So I've got Baltimore,
not by a whole lot, and not because I think
that they're the better team. I just think they're the
healthier team, and that may be along with being at

(51:28):
home on Sunday night. In that atmosphere, Week one energy
is amped. I think that that momentum may carry Lamar
Jackson and squad to depleted Bill's defense of victory over them.
I don't think the offense is going to have any issue.
We've seen how Josh Allen makes things happen, as well

(51:50):
as the team around him in that offensive line pretty stellar,
so I'm not concerned about that. It would be defense
kind of power for the Buffalo Bills course the last
couple of years. Anytime I have I feel a Bill's
loss coming, usually I'm looking at the defensive side of
the ball. There's something wrong there. I think that's what's
gonna happen here. I take Buffalo. I take Baltimore for

(52:13):
the win on Sunday. But I believe I had Buffalo
at twelve, sixteen, twelve and five or thirteen and four,
I can't remember. I'll have to go back, but I
have them winning the division. There's nothing in the division,
even with Rabes in New England and excuse me, what's

(52:35):
his face got? New York Jets coach Aaron Glenn Glen Glenn,
Aaron Glenn, you know they're like you know, the Jets
rebuilding again pretty much status quo. You're going to be
looking at them kind of towards the bottom there, the
bottom of the barrel there. Miami's always going to play
them tough, but they're just not where McDermott is in

(52:56):
terms of the coaching staff and coaching that team. So
I see Buffalo winning the division at either twelve or
thirteen wins.

Speaker 1 (53:03):
I've got with the Buffalo Bills opening the season at
home on Sunday Night Football, it being the final home
opener of the long, storied, illustrious career of Heimark Stadium,
New Ara Field. It's the Ralph. It is the Ralph.

Speaker 5 (53:24):
Actually I go back to rich Rich Stadium.

Speaker 1 (53:26):
Yeah, even that, I mean, I feel like John, I
feel like you're probably right that Baltimore will likely take
this game very close.

Speaker 3 (53:36):
But I think that home element is gonna is gonna
help with the momentum piece.

Speaker 1 (53:41):
But yes, like well, because I think if the fans
can get into the game early and the players don't
get too amped up, and Buffalo really needs to make
sure that they control the line of scrimmage, control possession,
keep the ball out of Lamar Jackson's hands. So if
they can get James Cook running, if they get James
Cook going, if they can get Ray Davis going, if
they can get the short pass game where you just

(54:02):
again continue to chew that clock down and limit Baltimore.
I think the fan the fans being rowdy as hell
because you know they are going to show up and
show out. It is going to be one hell of
a time to be at at high Mark Stadium on
Sunday night for Sunday Night football. I'm going to say
Buffalo twenty seven to twenty four, but I won't You
won't hear me be surprised if it's the opposite next week.

(54:27):
I'm not going to come again unless it's like forty
nine to three is the final and the Bills lose.
This is one of those games that could go either way.
I mean, I I John much like you win the
Division thirteen and four. That's my prediction. Very simple, I think,
very easy, very basic. Yeah, yeah, it's kind of want
to step up. People will step out, people will get hurt.

(54:49):
But we all know what the Bills play for the postseason.

Speaker 3 (54:53):
Yeah, and I would agree on that twenty seven to
twenty four score could be either.

Speaker 1 (54:57):
Way in that one. So I'm in agreement there.

Speaker 3 (55:00):
I'm thinking Baltimore because of the defense, but you're right,
it could, it could really swing that way. The home
field advantage again, playing the Buffalo's very very very very
very very very tough.

Speaker 1 (55:11):
You know what, I've also got I've got something here,
a thought, because the Ravens are no longer with kicker
Justin Tucker, who turns out he's auger Justin Tucker. Yeah,
and that's the first gup bomb you're gonna get. I'm
I'm gonna say, I may I'll bleep it out, but
uh probably probably will forget to do that. So if
you heard that, congratulations. The counter is now at one
for the season.

Speaker 3 (55:31):
Oh so right, I mean your cousin Dan's already in the.

Speaker 1 (55:35):
Lead, Like, oh you know, what if what if it
ends up being like twenty one to twenty bills because
the Ravens rookie kicker, young kicker. I think he's a rookie.
This is again very hard to kick in Buffalo. Hilarious,
This is a field goal, very apropos. We gotta go there,
you go, Yeah, we gotta go. I got I got
I got things to do, places to go, babies to kiss, whatever,

(55:59):
but John, you know what to do.

Speaker 3 (56:03):
I know what to do, But oh my goodness, where
are you?

Speaker 1 (56:06):
Berman? Berman?

Speaker 3 (56:07):
Berman, put the chicken wing down? Will you get over
here and do your thing?

Speaker 4 (56:12):
No One circles the wagons like the Buffalo Bills.
