The Rococo period, which emerged in the early 18th century in Europe, was a highly ornamental and elegant artistic and architectural style that replaced the grandeur and formality of the Baroque era. Characterized by delicate and asymmetrical designs, pastel colors, and a focus on frivolity and pleasure, Rococo art sought to create a sense of lightness and enchantment. It celebrated the aristocratic lifestyle, depicting scenes of leisure, love, and nature, often incorporating elements of fantasy and mythology. The period's intricate decoration was seen in lavish interiors, furniture, sculpture, and painting, reflecting the tastes of the ruling elite. However, Rococo's emphasis on opulence and superficiality also drew criticism for its lack of substance and excessive indulgence, leading to its eventual decline in favor of more restrained Neoclassical styles.

Unlike this description, the game of Rococo is no more superficial and is incredibly full of substance. It is, however, an absolutely excessive indulgence, especially the overtly lavish deluxe edition.
