Oh, hallelujah. Let's give him my handwave, give him my handwave. Now,
give him my hand praise. Come on, clap your hands
for Jesus. Clap your hands for Jesus.
Speaker 1 (16:34):
Oh Yes, Glory to God.
Speaker 3 (16:36):
Hallylujah. Lord, We thank you, We thank you. We can't
thank you enough. You may be seated in the presence
of the Lord. We think and praise God for all
his many and countless blessings. Most of all, we thank
the Lord for being saved, sanctified, and fell with his
precious holy ghosts. Amen. Amen, waste the sentiments of you all.
(17:02):
Jail Break twenty twenty five was awesome. It was brought
better felt than told. Sorry, you had to be here,
even if you watched it. You had to be here.
Praise God. We think and praise God for all of
those that participated, those that helped Lord Jesus, and we
just thank God for just showering down on us. Amen.
(17:26):
Some of us was brought out of Lodabar, a place
of obscurity, a place of hardship, that salty place, you
know when people say you salty. Praise God. We just
thank God for that. Amen. Praise God. We thank God
for all the speakers. It was like they pivoted right
(17:51):
off of each other. And I appreciate the cohesiveness within
the body. Amen. I couldn't ask for anything more and
ask for anything more, and I just think and praise
God just for all that has tr transpired. My prayer
is that we don't lose it.
Speaker 10 (18:07):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (18:07):
And since the helper said, we can't lose what we got,
we can't keep we can't get keep circling that mountain.
We can't keep circling it. We gotta keep on and
keep on and keep on until God does what he
does and did what he did. Amen. So Amen, we
(18:29):
thank God for our interactive Bible study for those that
are listening, and m wan the will maybe watching and listening.
It's a little bit different because we are allowing the
(18:50):
saints of God to tell of the goodness of God
through his word and what they see in his word. Amen.
Cause you know, the preacher don't have it all the preachers,
don't we He that's the reason why he said he
gave some if if if if it was us the apostles,
he wouldn't added anybody else. If it was just pastors.
(19:12):
He wouldn't have added anybody else if it was just teachers.
But we are have a five fold ministry, and we
are helpers one of another. No one person has it all.
Paul even said, I have not had my skind myself
apprehended I had. I don't know it all, but this
one thing, one thing I do know. Praise God. Amen.
(19:34):
So I'm been doing a little talking. So we're gonna
do a a rehash of Proverbs twenty two. It's been
a while cause we were in revival, but you all
know when we do this, we're gonna do a rehash.
Speaker 1 (19:52):
So what.
Speaker 3 (19:55):
What did you take back or what did you get
out of Proverbs chapter twenty two. Nobody wants to speak
praise the Lord. We knew it was coming. I'm'a stick
my lip out. The teacher is sad. Proverbs twenty two,
(20:27):
Chapter twenty two talked about a good name, good reputation,
eve it ch What would child training up a child?
The slowful man said, there's a line without and I
shall be slaying in the streets. That was the thirteen.
(20:48):
That was the thirteenth, first is bad.
Speaker 15 (20:53):
And the heart of a child that was fifteen. The
rid of correct correction shall drive it far from 'em.
Speaker 3 (21:04):
Okay, if we don't have any body that wants to
say anything in twenty three, I mean twenty two. We
just gonna start with twenty three. But I am sad, right,
so y'all gonna have to do better, amen, Amen, alright.
Chapter twenty three, verse one in two. Now, s I'm
(21:31):
I'm gonna preface this with some of these are the
same we's talked about. Some of this already is just
spoken in a different way, and some of 'em are
some of the scriptures our are uh connected, So we
should get through this real quick, amen, Amen alright. Chapter
twenty three. Proverbs twenty three, Read verses one and two.
Speaker 15 (21:57):
When thous it is to eat with a ruler, consider
diligently what it's before thee, and put a knife to
thy throat. If thou'll be a man given to appetite,
oh three two, be not desirous of his dainties, for
(22:19):
thy are deceitful meat.
Speaker 3 (22:21):
Now we know who's talking, Solomon, right, right, So he
knows when you deal with certain people, there's certain characteristics certa,
certain things you have to watch out for. And so
i'm i'm i'm led to believe that.
Speaker 1 (22:35):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (22:36):
The easy read says, when you sit to eat with
an important person, remember who you are with. Never eat
too much, even if you're very hungry, don't eat too
much of his fine food. It might be a trick.
And all I can think of is Solomon being a
(22:57):
king and having dealings with a lot of people, and
this is something he picked up. He noticed. Amen. So
we gotta be careful when we're dining with someone in
position and power. Sometimes, especially if it's a person, we're
gonna be talking about discernment, especially when it's a person
that's never, never talks to you, and all of a
(23:22):
sudden he's they're talking to you and they want to
take you out to dinner. Be careful when dining with
someone in position. Don't get so excited that you are
not aware of manipulations disguised as generosity. Hey man, Sometimes
(23:45):
we get excited when with the invitations you get, but
they you don't. You know, apostles, you used to always
talk about the intent. Why why did they why they
ask let alone me? So that's when your antennas need
to go up and watch. Not to say everybody that
everybody in position, you know, that's just like the scripture
(24:08):
we talked about, when we do our work, do it
diligently because other people are watching. The president of the
president of a company may be watching you because of
the way you work. That's the reason why we're saying
we have to have to be able to descern people's attitude,
recognize the hidden agendas. There's a lot of hidden agendas.
(24:29):
People get in trouble because they didn't see it coming. Amen,
But he wants us to be wise and be aware
of over indulging. Sometimes you just be eating and eating
and eating and eating, and and it might make you sick.
Speaker 16 (24:45):
Eating at the king's table.
Speaker 17 (24:46):
It made me think about Daniel and the Hebrew boys
when they refuse to eat the king's meat because.
Speaker 16 (24:53):
It's a lot of stuff.
Speaker 17 (24:54):
You know, you're thinking, like somebody is really doing something
for you, but it's some things attached to it. Yeah,
they just may want you to bye later on down
the line, so you yeah, and they d he just chose,
They said, well, they just chose.
Speaker 16 (25:05):
Well, we not. We refuse to eat the king's meat.
They just let us eat the beans.
Speaker 17 (25:09):
So it's like, think about it, you know a lot
of times, cause people be like, oh, well, this and that,
and they want it. But but they not doing that
for nothing. They not doing that for nothing. And I'll
just think about a uh. One of the stories Apostles
used to always say, he said, you uh get locked
up or whatever like that, and they being all nice
to you and buy you that snicker he said, but
(25:29):
then when night time coming and be like, I want
my snicker back, you know. So uh, but just think
about it like choices and consequences. Think about it, you Green,
It's no money, yes.
Speaker 3 (25:40):
They ooh everybody like me. No, they like you for
a reason.
Speaker 4 (25:43):
Hey man.
Speaker 3 (25:44):
Some people are get used because of what they have.
You may not have much, but they might like what
you do have and want it. It may not be
it maybe be your husband, It may be your wife,
it may be your child. We have to be very
(26:08):
It's sad to say, but Solomon was very wise, and
some of us we get lost in Like I mean,
I was raised where it's you're tr you're trustworthy, you
you trust people without question. But we're living in a
day and time that sometimes you gotta question people's motives.
(26:30):
Why did they do this? Ay man? So we have
to be careful when we're dining with someone in position
and power, and don't get so excited that you're not
aware of the malipu n manipulations that they're doing. And
it might be disguised and i'm'a give you this, i'm'a
buy this for you. Okay, W what's w W? What's
(26:52):
hung on? What's what's the catch on that? M The
catch may not be right then, but it'll come later. Yes.
Speaker 15 (27:03):
I was also thinking about you know, also in the
house of God, you know, everybody is not safe right
or in in in everybody that portrays to be is not.
And so you have to be careful who you around
because you be like, oh, that's a man of God.
(27:23):
You know, people are going through that for years in
the church. Oh well, I wouldn't have thought the choir
director would have done that, or the youth pastor would've
done that.
Speaker 3 (27:35):
So a because he's the youth pastor, because he's the apostle.
Speaker 15 (27:42):
So you know, watch their signs.
Speaker 3 (27:45):
That's what even in the church, Yes, even in the church. Amen. Uh,
let's read four and five together.
Speaker 15 (27:55):
Labor not to be rich, cease from thy own wisdom
willout setting thine eyes upon that which is not for riches.
Certainly make themselves wings, they fly away as an ego
toward heaven.
Speaker 3 (28:11):
Toward heaven, Easy Read says, don't ruin your health trying
to get rich. If you are smart, you will give
it up. In the blink of an eye. Money can
disappear as if it grew wings and flew away like
a bird. He's advising us not to be not to
overwork ourselves to get rich. He said, be satisfied. Be
(28:35):
satisfied with what you already have. Amen. It's not wrong
to be rich. No, it's not wrong to have money.
But if that's all that's in your mind, there's limitations.
Speaker 9 (28:53):
And place.
Speaker 3 (28:54):
Sometimes we placed getting rich over everything else. Relatelationships are families,
and it's not worth it.
Speaker 15 (29:05):
Come on, I was just gonna say, don't find yourself
chasing a dollar. Get to a point to where God
can trust you. Then you ain't got to chase It'll
chase you, and then say tag, you're it, got it
caught caught up with you. So don't don't don't chase
the dollar.
Speaker 3 (29:26):
Amen. The scripture said, for after these things, the gentile
seek for your heavenly father knoweth what you have, Amen,
But seeky first. The kingdom of Heaven and his righteousness,
and all these things shall be added unto you. Some
people can't handle money. Amen. Solomon uses imagery, the imagery
(29:51):
of a bird or eagle. Amen, if it's here, and
it could just how many knows when the stock market
it falls? And and lord knows when when when they
gonna change over the dollar bill to bitcom and whatever
else they gonna change it to. And your dollars don't
(30:13):
mean anything, Amen.
Speaker 16 (30:16):
I was just thinking word he said, don't.
Speaker 17 (30:17):
It's not like you said, it's not a a sin
or or to have money, because they tell you if
a man don't work, neither shall he eat. But it's
like saying, don't like chase after riches because the scripture
lets us know too that where your treasure y, where
your treasure is, that's that's where your heart is gonna be.
And they uh kind of remind me of that rich
man when he said he had these the bass or whatever,
and then look he said, I'm what am I gonna do?
Speaker 16 (30:39):
He still wasn't satisfied with what he had.
Speaker 17 (30:41):
He said, I'm gonna build me bigger bards, right, So
that's chasing after riches.
Speaker 4 (30:45):
And then he it it.
Speaker 16 (30:46):
It gets you in the wrong headspace.
Speaker 17 (30:48):
So then now he's saying, then I'm gonna tell my soul,
soul take dying ease, So you have to uh to
watch it it.
Speaker 16 (30:55):
It's not the money, it's the love of it. That's
the root of all you, Luke.
Speaker 3 (31:00):
Twelve and fifteen says, and he said, unto them, take
heed and beware of covetousness. For a man's life consists
is not in the abundance of the things which he possesses.
You could have a y' I've heard a testimony of
people that had everything they needed or wanted and still
wasn't happy. We have to find security in God, amen,
(31:25):
because why why focus on something that's only temporary. Those
that are in the banking system, they know how quick
money can leave, or how the interest weight can go up,
or the interest weight can drop, or you lose money
because of this, that and the other. A man our
security should be in the Lord. For he he he advised,
(31:47):
he he's he's asked. Solomon is asking us to be
have a balance in our life, because you're not balanced
if that's all you seek, and wealth cannot be our foundation,
for it is not stable. Wealth is not Amen, is here,
here today and gone today, not tomorrow, here today and
gone today. Amen, Amen, all right? Six and seven.
Speaker 15 (32:14):
Eat thou not the bread of him that hath an
evil eye, neither desire thou his dainty meats, for as
he thinketh in his heart. So is he eat and drink,
said he to THEE, But his heart is not with thee.
Speaker 3 (32:35):
Read eight two.
Speaker 15 (32:37):
The morsel which thou hast eaten, shalt thou vomit up
and loose thy sweet words.
Speaker 3 (32:45):
Don't eat with selfish people. Eat the bread of the
man with the evil eye. Control any desire you have
for their finest food. They might tell you to eat
and drink all you want, but they don't really mean it.
(33:07):
They are a kind of people who are only thinking
about the costs. This is an evil person. This is
a person that's selfish, And this is I'm reading the
easy read and it. If you eat their food, you
will get sick and be embarrassed its motive and intent.
(33:30):
Knowing that a person is selfish may make you feel uncomfortable.
If a person is selfish and they're inviting you to
do a whole lot of stuff that's out of their norm.
Another time where we need to be have some descernment
what it's work being said. Yes, we're meek, but we're
(33:55):
not weak, and we're not stupid. But people feel that
people that are in God, God, God is just love
and and but we have to be careful of the
wiles of the devil. Amen y. Verse seven and eight
are also in v UH advising the character of a
c SEF selfish person. This is telling you what a
(34:16):
selfish person will do. And sometimes we overlook it because
of what they doing for us, or what we think
they're doing for us. What someone says or does may
not be what truly in their heart. And that's that's plain.
We already know that. How many of us has been
(34:37):
bamboozled by sweet sweet nothings, sweet words, Ben bamboozled by
a man, Ben bamboozled by a woman, Ben bamboozled by
your friend, so called friend. Amen, Amen, alright, nine is
by itself.
Speaker 15 (34:58):
Speak not in the ears of a fool, for he
will despise the wisdom of thy words.
Speaker 3 (35:06):
Don't try to teach fools. They will make fun of
your wise words. We've had this before. They look at
you like they because a fool already knows well they
think they know, but in their mind they already know.
A fool will not receive Wise's counsel because he's a
(35:26):
he's a fool. What's the other word, He's brutish. He's brutish.
He's characterized as someone unwilling to listen. The Hebrew word
for a fool is keyseal, someone morally deficient, stubborn, and
(35:48):
resistant to wisdom and correction. So that's something new added
to a fool. We have to understand that everyone will
not be receptive to wisdom. So time is precious. So
if you know it's a fool, don't invest your time
with someone that will not adhere to wisdom. Give that
(36:10):
which give, not that which is holy unto dogs. Neither
cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample on them.
Under your feet, under their feet. They laughing at you,
they scoffing, Oh, I'm not gonna do this, and then
turn it again and wrent you talk about you? Are
you you foolish? I don't believe what you say. They
(36:33):
don't believe that, mes creasy. Don't waste your time. The
scripture also said if they don't hear you, shake the
dust off your feet, because that dust is gonna rise
up in the in the judgment as a witness. I
tried to tell the dust is gonna say. I tried
(36:53):
to tell them the dust is gonna talk. Amen, all right,
ten and eleven, let's read. Anybody have anything to say
on that one. We already talked about the food.
Speaker 15 (37:05):
I wanted to say. The The other scripture was, uh,
what was it? Proverbs nine and eight reprove not at
scorner lest he hate THEE rebuked the wise men, and
he will love THEE.
Speaker 9 (37:17):
So that was.
Speaker 3 (37:20):
One of the ones we said before. Amen. Alright, ten
and eleven, Together.
Speaker 15 (37:26):
Remove not the old landmark, and answer not into the
fields of the fatherless, For the redeemer is mighty. He
shall plead their cause with THEE.
Speaker 3 (37:41):
We've already talked about this again. We talked about this.
Never r removed an old property line. And don't take
land that belongs to orphans, because an orphan is somebody
that can't protect themselves. And we have a lot of
people taking advantage of the misf people that don't know
they have land, and they get around where they can
(38:04):
just take their stuff from them. Amen. So we's talked
about we do not rem remember not to remove the
ancient boundary boundaries back in the day with stones, you know,
and you move it so far, you say this is
my land. No you lying? And I thought about when
he said that the lord would plead his cause. I
thought about the story of Ruth and Boaz. These verses
(38:28):
are expressing justice and compassion when dealing with others, especially
those who cannot defend themselves. She couldn't fit defend herself. Uh,
being a woman, she had to find a kinsman that
would get her money huh, her land back, and it
worked in her behalf. Amen. Amen. So we did go
(38:52):
over this uh very extensively when we first had it
in Proverbs.
Speaker 8 (38:57):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (38:58):
Let's see twelve.
Speaker 15 (39:01):
Apply thy heart unto instruction and thy ears to the
words of knowledge.
Speaker 3 (39:09):
Listen to your teacher and learn all you can. We
must have a teachable spirit. And we've talked about this
and the willingness to learn from others. You know, we
live in a day and time that people don't wanna
learn from each other.
Speaker 16 (39:28):
They know it all.
Speaker 3 (39:30):
And see your cousin to a fool, a brutus person
if you think you know it all and can nobody
tell you anything? And this is the day and time
that we live it in and I see it in
our young people. I don't only see it in my
the young people. I see it in the age people
because they've been here a while. And you know, I'm
(39:50):
learning that even though I'm the age that I am,
I'm still learning some things and we should all still
learning some things, and especially you know I when I
love talking to Pastor Penson because she's got these old
sayings that Pop Paul used to say and Mama used
(40:11):
to say. It ain't Nail used to say. And I'm
trying to figure out what does that mean? Many times
my mom would tell my uh brothers, don't take any
wooden nickels. I said, wooden nichols, what is a wooden nickel?
It's not real, fool it's it's not real. And you
(40:33):
you so foolish and brutish, you t you don't see it,
and they giving you wooden nickels and wooden nichols, don't
spend instead of saying wooden nickel, don't take no counterfeit
money it it don't even what not not that cleanly? Look?
Have have you all felt the pennies lately? Sometimes when
(40:54):
somebody asks me for chance for you know, uh, when
I'm paying and I give 'em the pennies, I be
feeling a pennies. I said, what pennies? Don't feel like pennies.
It's so lightweighting. I said, is this a penny? And
they just be laughing at me. I said, it just
doesn't feel that way. Amen. So we can't be hearers only,
but we have to also apply our teaching to our lives.
(41:17):
Wisdom requires intentional choices. And I thought about our uh
uh jail break thing. Amen. We have to know what
was right, but the choice is to apply it. We
know sometimes, but just because we know it doesn't mean
we're doing all that we're supposed to do right. So
(41:39):
we have a choice. Amen. Amen. Alright? Did I hear
haimd see a hand uh thirteen thirteen and fourteen.
Speaker 15 (41:53):
Withhole not correction from the child. For if thou beatst
him with a rock, he shall not die. Thou shall
beat him with the rod, and shall deliver his soul
from hell.
Speaker 4 (42:08):
Hm.
Speaker 3 (42:10):
Amen. Corporal punishment somebody gonna call CPS. Always correct children
when they need it. If you spank them, it will
not kill them. In fact, you might save their lives.
(42:30):
It ain't no might if they ad here, right, you
teach him why they're young. And we've had this one too, aymen. Up,
it's a d the importance of parental guidance and discipline
so that they will grow into reasonable adults. They still
have choices to make, cause the scripture says, train up
(42:52):
a trial and the way it's your good go. And
when you're training sometimes you have to get that back hand,
or you gotta get that belt or that that uh
they say rods back in the Eastern country countries they
use rotting cause they take the scripture for what it says, right,
the Torah for what it says, beat them and they
(43:13):
shall not die. And I don't believe those young folks
that went over there from the US that got beat died. No,
but I bet you they won't do it again, right,
ay man, If you punish them, they won't die. As
we discussed before, the punishment must fit the crime. Just
(43:34):
because the scripture says beat them and they shall not die,
don't mean that you all you beat up every time
your child does something, you beat them. You got some
children that, uh, they don't require a beating. All you
have to do is look at 'em. Want funny, right,
some of 'em just talk to 'em. I know Apostle
used to talk to some of the kids and and
(43:56):
he was the kids would tell me, Mama, just tell
him to beat me because you're gonna talk me to death. Amen.
So the discipline should be consistent, yes, and appropriate, huh.
And if a belt is needed, if it's needed, it's
not always needed. A stern look, time out, sometimes time
(44:20):
out of the electronic devices TV, some things that they like.
That's enough, that's killing them. Beat me, mom, and so
I can get back on my iPad. No, you're not
getting down that iPad, yes, ma'am.
Speaker 17 (44:37):
Scripture says withhold not correction from the child, which means
so if it's telling you not to withhold it the correction,
it means that they need to be corrected.
Speaker 10 (44:45):
Right.
Speaker 17 (44:46):
But a lot of times that's what's in this day
and age, the society that we're in, a lot of
parents are withholding the correction. Like you're saying, the iPads
and all that type of stuff go to your room
or whatever they got every Yeah, they'll go because they
got everything in it. And then when you say, like,
you don't always have to beat them, and you don't
always have to beat them. But if every time you
(45:06):
keep talking to them, if they're talking ain't working, It
ain't working.
Speaker 16 (45:10):
It's whooped them behind. Yeah.
Speaker 17 (45:12):
Yeah, But a lot of times parents don't want to
do it because they they softies, they softiest, But when
you don't do it, you're actually hurting them. I'm telling
you all the whoopings that I got from my daddy. Oh,
I was like, I could not stand my daddy because
he he wasn't He wouldn't let us get away with anything.
And the reason I say that because when you thought
(45:33):
you got away with it, you wasn't getting away with it.
Speaker 16 (45:35):
It was just adding up.
Speaker 17 (45:37):
Because when he finally got you for something, when he
whooping you, he named it all that other stuff that
you thought he let slide.
Speaker 16 (45:43):
But he didn't let slide. You just getting it.
Speaker 17 (45:45):
So he didn't withhold correction from us and what it's
and I'm telling you, I think he's been a long one.
But I thank my daddy for that every day because
I've seen so many people that we grew up with
they locked up, they walking around somewhere crazy or whatever.
So when you don't when you would hold correction from
your child, you are not helping them, you're hurting them.
Because when you send them out into society, you sending them,
(46:07):
you sending them to school and everything. If you don't
make them sit there behind down at home, they gonna
go to school and they ain't gonna wanna sit down.
Speaker 16 (46:14):
So you got God gave us.
Speaker 17 (46:16):
You know, we're talking about training them up and everything.
It's a way that we have to do it. But
you got to do it while they're young, right, because
then you if you don't know why they're young, you're
letting them loose out on society and all all this
killing and all this stuff. We're gonn somebody wasn't was
withholding correction man, because they want to be their friend, right.
Speaker 3 (46:34):
That's it right there. They wanna be friends. They don't
wanna be the mean person. When we discipline our children,
I'm gonna say it again, we do it out of love.
Remember the brother said, uh, I don't understand. You know,
when we say it, it's hurting. It's gonna hurt me
more than it hurts you. He said he didn't understand.
I said, you just wait till you get a child.
And I think he's he's seeing it. Amen. And uh,
(46:57):
but we discipline our children out of life and the
desire to teach them. Like you said, when you put
them out in society, society don't care. Now they gonna
get us for beating our kids CPS. But then when
they go to jail, what do you think that billy
club and that those uh tasers are for other us?
(47:19):
I know the adrenaline much ms is good, but yellow
is real bright Amen, Yes, so yes, I.
Speaker 15 (47:29):
Just liked how you emphasize on the when you chastise
or you it's out of love. And that's the thing
parents say they love they children, but when you don't
correct them, that's not loving them. It's not loving them
at all. And then, like you say, they go out
(47:49):
in society or they go into the school, and a
lot of them that's all that they need is somebody
that's gonna be consistent and give them structure, let them
know what they're wrong, tow the line with them, give
them that expectation. But when you don't do those things,
you're not loving them, because it's like you know, alright,
(48:13):
well just go to your room, y, you just let
them do what you want. Let you don't wanna be bothered.
And then it's it's and then it goes back to
the point of being selfish. There's a you have to
as a parent. That's a job. That's a job that
they didn't ask to be here. You birth them in
this world. So as parents, regardless of whatever the cause
(48:37):
you are dealt with, you have to correct your children.
Speaker 9 (48:42):
Again.
Speaker 15 (48:42):
Correction comes in different facets, but it has to be done.
Speaker 3 (48:47):
Yeah, all this talking, it's it's not gonna work with
some kids, that's right. And the kids we have now,
these COVID nineteen kids, they they have a lot to
say and they only two years old. I have one
(49:07):
that know, and I think every time he does that,
I think about chicken little when they s he was
talking about the sky's falling, say, and he tries to explain,
and then he they d think he's acting crazy, and
he said, we we what were we talking about?
Speaker 4 (49:23):
Again?
Speaker 3 (49:25):
He deflected, Oh, we not gonna talk about what you said? Well,
what were we doing about? I have one that he'll
you know, you telling him to do something and and
he get in trouble and then he he's talking about
I got a party, I wanna can I eat?
Speaker 1 (49:45):
No?
Speaker 3 (49:45):
We not talking about eating right now? I'm hungry. No,
we not talking about hungry right now. Yeah you're William, Yeah,
you're William ay Man. And we gonna be talking a
little bit about this down through these scriptures. Let's read
fifteen and sixteen.
Speaker 15 (50:06):
My son, if thine heart be wise, my heart shall
rejoice even mine. Yay, my rain shall rejoice with thy lips.
Speak right things.
Speaker 4 (50:18):
My son.
Speaker 3 (50:18):
It makes me happy when you make wise decisions. This
is what we're trying to do. Raise up children that
can make wise decisions. But if you don't put it
in them, train up a child the way it should
go right. If we don't put it in them, there's
nothing coming out. How many run across people saying that
I never knew that, my mama didn't teach me that,
(50:41):
my daddy didn't tell me that. And when you when
they don't, when they're not told, it's like something foreign
to them. You're right, And it amazes me because some
of us know what our parents put in us. And
then when we run across folks that are in their
thirties and what huh. I used to have to tell
(51:05):
Apostle all the time. Everybody doesn't raised like you. And
sometime I say, everybody wasn't raised like us. So that's
where the compassion come in. That's where you have to
think and say, well, wait a minute. That's just like
coming to church sometimes, ki people come to church and
looking any kind of way. There used to be a reverence, right,
(51:25):
whether you were saved or not, you always reverence the
house of God. People would go across the street to smoke.
They would never break y d Did you not know?
Church doors used to be open. You can come in
cause it was a place of safety. Don't do it
(51:49):
now they breaking in and taking yourself out. Amen. It
brings joy to a parent when their children take heed.
When you see that they've done you know, oh you're
doing really well. I see you're learning. They brace, embrace
the teachings. It makes a parent happy when their children
make wise choices. I hear some of my kids say
(52:11):
when they when they're taking their kids to school, they pray,
they say, make wise choices. Parents must also lead by
example by being in a being a positive You can
be an example, but you can be a good example
or you can be a bad example. You have to
(52:34):
have a make a positive influence in order to be
an effective disciplinarian. You why you're gonna beat them for
something that they've seen you do. All right, well you drinking. Well,
I'm old enough to They don't understand that because we're
(52:54):
talking about young children. And then when they get older,
get them two numbers again. You sure can't tell him
nothing cause they said, well, mammy you, mammy, you doing it,
Daddy you smoking. I remember that that that little commercial
where this father took his it was either his, I
(53:15):
think it was dad to the nursing home, stopped at
the store, got got him a coke and took him
to the nursing home, and the little boy was just
watching everything he was doing. Daddy. When I grow up,
I'm gonna take you to the nursing home and I'm
gonna stop and get you a dr Pepper cause I
(53:37):
know you like doctor Pepper's. That father turned that car
around whatever that's that's called reaping and so on, Amen,
so and all of us. Sometimes you can't whoop your
kids for you wanna whoop them, but if they've seen
you doing it. There was another commercial I saw where
(54:00):
this young man was doing some kind of s I
guess he was drinking or smoking or whatever. And uh,
the father was just fussing at him. This is an
old commercial, and he said, why did you d d D?
He's just fussing at him, saying, why did you do this?
Speaker 9 (54:12):
It?
Speaker 3 (54:14):
I learned it from you, dad. So what you gonna say?
They have something to say, do as I say and
not as I do.
Speaker 16 (54:26):
That's not working.
Speaker 3 (54:28):
That's not working anymore. Amen. Amen, So we have to
leave you know we we we're saying, our heart is wise,
our heart is is joyful when our son and daughter
and and do what they're supposed to do. But they
have to have some examples. Postle used to say, you
can't you leave the examples out in the world. Football
(54:51):
players and and basketball players, all these people. You have
to be an example in your house. And the problem
is that we don't. I don't have men and women
in the house to teach their kids. Right, You got
grandparents weren't raising kids while you while you would wild'n out,
(55:12):
while you you doing what you wanna do. And it's
leaving the kids to defend for themselves.
Speaker 9 (55:21):
That's right, so true.
Speaker 3 (55:23):
And sometimes the grandparents don't wanna handle it, and they
if they do, they might be abusing them. Then they
end up being on that show. Six hundred pound, my
six hundred pound life. So my mom watches that, and
and and they they tell what happened to 'em? Why
they they gotta fetish for food? The trauma they were
(55:47):
traumatized in the past. Amen. So there are consequences to
the choices we make. Don't let it be said too late,
too late. I shoulda did this for my kid, I
should have did this. We give them everything in the world,
but what they need, and that's discipline, because we don't
(56:10):
want them bothering us. Turn the TV on? Sit here?
Why does child gotta sit here all day watching TV
while you sleep? You don't understand that part, all right?
(56:32):
Seventeen and eighteen.
Speaker 15 (56:36):
Let not thy heart enyvy sinners, but be thou in
the fear of the Lord all the day long, For
surely there is an end, and thine expectation shall not
be cut off.
Speaker 3 (56:52):
Neither envy even people. But always respect the Lord. This
will give you something to hope for that will not
disappoint you. In the first scripture that came to me
was one of my favorites, Psalms thirty seven and one,
fret not thyself because of evildoers. Neither be thou envious
against the workers of iniquity. It look like they just
(57:14):
flying high. They got everything they want, They got money,
when they can go out when they want, they can
go on cruises, they can do this, they can do that.
And you saved sanctified fear with the Holy Ghost speaking
in tongues. You pay your tie, you given offering. You're
very dedicated to the church, and you struggling. Fret not
(57:38):
thyself because of evildoers who probably neither be thou envious
against them, the workers of iniquity, for they soon Yeah,
God is the creator of time and he handles time,
so he soon may not be your soon may not
be ours. Soon they will soon be caught off, cut
(57:59):
down like grass and wither as the green herb. Solomon
is advising us to UH prioritize our relationship with God
instead of temporary worldly things. Yes, we're we're we're human
an And anybody that has a Facebook UH page, and
(58:22):
you see your friends doing all kinds of things and
you wishing you could have done it, and you can
do it. And then you see people that don't even
think about God doing so many things. Go to that scripture,
fret not that self because of evil dealers. Neither be
thou envious. Don't envy them against the workers of unique.
(58:45):
They don't think about God and God is just.
Speaker 10 (58:47):
They just.
Speaker 3 (58:49):
Look like they prospering. They are prospering in this world,
you said, But don't count gain as godliness. And they
and they love to talk about God. God, God bless
me with this, and God this and God that, and
then they start cussing and then come back to the
Lord Jesus. Thank you. That vexes my spirit. I'm not
(59:10):
envious of that. It vexes me. Amen. All right, let's
see what was that seventeen and eighteen, that's to nineteen
twenty and twenty one.
Speaker 15 (59:27):
Hear thou, my son, and be wise and God in
thy heart in the way, be not among winebibbers, among
roteous eaters of flesh. For the drunkard and the and
the glutton shall come to poverty, and drowsiness shall clothe
(59:49):
a man with rags.
Speaker 3 (59:51):
So listen, my son, this is this is Solomon talking
to his son. Listen, my son, and my daughter. Be wise.
Always be careful to follow the right path. Don't make
friends with people who drink too much wine or eat
too much food. Those who eat and drink too much,
(01:00:11):
become poor, they sleep too much, and they end up
vising us about who you associate with, making wise choices
to avo avoid negative consequences. Sometimes these consequences is death.
Birds of a feather flock together. If you don't wanna
(01:00:33):
be labeled with the prostitute, stop hanging around 'em, cause
you gonna get collected up with them when they get arrested. Right,
let's bring it up today. Those who indulge in reprenate
recreational smoking of the marijuana, the pot, the reefer and
(01:00:54):
the grass and the doobies, think all that row in
one cause I noticed those that do the uh. I
forgot the uh vapor I f I I noticed that
those that do that, they like to sleep, and they
like to they like to eat. Some of 'em do,
I got. I know some that don't hardly eat very much.
(01:01:16):
But there's some that like Munchie, they got to have
the munchies, snacking all the time, sleeping all the time.
So this scriptures up to day. It's seeing wine, the
saying wine, aymen.
Speaker 8 (01:01:34):
It just made me think about when I was, when
I was in the world, and I I remember I
had UH, I was doing the marijuana and the black
and mouths and stuff. And then you know the world
they be like, oh, try vapor, it's.
Speaker 16 (01:01:49):
Uh better for you.
Speaker 8 (01:01:49):
You know, it ain't help you curb your addiction. And
I remember no doing that, and then you know it
make you more adifdent cause they got all them flavors mm,
like you'll go to the go to the s oh,
and they got all these different like you can get butter,
scarch up vanilla and and it just keep you buying stuff.
And then I I found myself that wasn't doing it
(01:02:10):
for me because what it did, it made you wanna
do the real thing because it was just a substitute.
And yeah, like it was nice and cool, it's social thing,
but you gonna end up it's not gonna be good enough.
You gonna want they real they real kick so and
also to that vapor and it's killing a lot of
folks too, cause it's a lot of chemicals in there
and you getting all them different flavors and stuff, and uh,
(01:02:32):
you know it. They they'll seen a billboard recently where
they were telling like people to stop doing it. But
but that's true though, because it's a spirit to go
with that, because like what you do. Yeah, you'll be
eating snacking it n you up all night, laughing and
keykiing and all that, and then next thing, you know,
life can pass you by.
Speaker 4 (01:02:51):
Mm. You ain't dead nothing, you ain't.
Speaker 1 (01:02:53):
Yep.
Speaker 8 (01:02:54):
That's all I was doing. And I would spend my
money on my l ow. I spend my last just
to have something to small and and yeah, Reggedy, it
didn't even know. It's smelling like weed.
Speaker 1 (01:03:06):
Didn't even know.
Speaker 8 (01:03:07):
And now when I go in the store and I
smell people that got we know, I'd be like God,
I was like, I was, that was me. I was like,
I was walking around, I said I and I'm just
thinking that I'm just just just just just cool and
walking in hind out and I'm like, man, I'm like yeah,
I like I said, you don't You don't know when
(01:03:27):
you're in that thing. That's why I feel like I
can really be able to tell young people like, man,
you just don't know how bad you are until you
come out. Yeah, so I think, I thank God.
Speaker 3 (01:03:39):
You know, Uh, commercials, commercials get me. Uh when you
walk into like even in somebody's car and they have
a dog and you smell dog, but they don't smell
it because their nose is blind. They call it nose
blind or you have a haloitosis in the house. Care
nobody smelling you? They fine cause they used to it.
(01:04:01):
But you walk into the house and smell like dog like.
Don't y'all smell it or smoke, don't and don't realize
what the smoke is doing to your house until you
get ready to paint or you move a picture, or
you move a picture. I had a uh, a friend
(01:04:21):
that didn't realize that, and and then she told her
husband that you smoke. You smoking outside when she got
her house redone. She she said, you smoke outside. And
that's what they do. They smoke outside. And and where
I used to work at seven eleven, they they smoked
outside in the concrete. You don't even they don't. Somebody
don't have to be smoking out there. You walk out
(01:04:42):
there and you smell smoke, right, And like you said,
you don't smell it, You don't. You don't understand it
until you get out of it. Cause I mean, that's
a trigger for me. Uh years ago when I turned fifty,
they said I had asthma. But certain things trigger it.
I stay away from the triggers, but sometimes you can't
(01:05:03):
help it. Somebody come past you and that w that
air hits it. Yeah, they stuffed in that car and
all of a sudden, that air hits it. I rem
I'm telling it off on somebody, but she may not
know who it is. But when my daddy was alive,
one of my brothers was was recreational smoking, and but
(01:05:25):
he was up in his room. Now, all my brothers
were upstairs, so she don't know which one it was.
But anyway, he they would come down and my daddy
would say, what do y'all whatchu burning up there? Smell
like weeds? And I tell my brother, yeah, weed, he
(01:05:48):
don't know, but it smell like weed. And and I mean,
I didn't really realize how bad that stuff smelled until
one of my nephews. I thought he was just he
had just had body o and I was giving him
soap and stuff and and uh. And then somebody came
to the house and wanted apostle to pray for him.
(01:06:08):
They said they was, you know, hung up on this
weed and stuff. And and he brought the weed to
the house and the postle gave me the weed to
to to flush down the kimo, I'm s I'm thinking
like the the police is gonna come to get and
getting it raided the house cause I got this wee.
I went to take it, taking it and trying to
(01:06:31):
put it out in the kimo, and it got a
w whiff. I said, Oh, he wasn't stinking from body odor.
He been smoking. See, I mean, I'm seventy now now
I know what it is. If I never I didn't
know what it was. If you don't know, you just
don't know. You just think people got body odor and
(01:06:53):
the and like you said about the vapor, and and
we we gonna end right here. When you said about
the vapor, how that the commercials used to go out
about you know that's what you need to do vae
vave fape. But I've did some research vapor. If you
have some certain uh mental conditions, it heightens that. It
(01:07:14):
if if you if you got terror, you're afraid of stuff,
and it's just a lot of things that's going on
in your mind mentally, it heightens it. And then it
says with all the metals and stuff like that. So
now they're they're pushing you against it. Back in the day,
they were saying that's the thing to do. And it's
just amazing how they they they whitewash it, cause they
(01:07:37):
were just hyping it up. Every commercial you saw they say,
fit vapor, you know everything, instead of calling, instead of smoking,
they say, and then everybody was doing that. They and
they hushed it when they started sent to I haven't
seen too many commercials about don't vap, not the way
(01:08:00):
they was doing too. Vate. Amen, So listen to your parents.
You know we talked about they have to back up
in the other scriptures. We were saying how that we
need to be.
Speaker 5 (01:08:15):
Uh uh.
Speaker 3 (01:08:19):
Examples model examples to our kids. Amen. Now, if you
you want your child to listen, listen my son, and
be wise, always be careful and follow the right path.
You you know, as a ch as a saint of God.
When something feels funny, it doesn't feel right, somebody asks
you to do something, It just this just doesn't feel right.
(01:08:41):
That's another way of Uh, that's another form of discerning.
Everybody can be a just have the spirit of discernment,
cause you you're being taught to descern right. Right, if
it don't sound right, what is what did uh pass
the pens and say the other day when she was
telling her she had told her sons or whatever to
(01:09:04):
do something, and the son's kids mother, Well, friend, my
friend said, so your friend is smarter than your mama.
Well no, mama, will you act like she's smarter than me.
You act like your friends are smarter than me because
I told you to do such and such, and you're
doing what your friends say. Be careful, follow the right path,
(01:09:29):
and don't make friends. I mean, it's alright to be
you know, you have associates. You can't help what they
do outside, but you don't hang around them. They're an associate.
They're not friends.
Speaker 4 (01:09:40):
I know this.
Speaker 3 (01:09:41):
Associate means I know them, I know of them, but
they're not my friend. Friend. This is not somebody I
hang around with. Cause, like I said, birds of a
feather gonna flock together. And if you acting like them,
if it quack like a duck, act like a duck,
they gonna show what they gonna say. Well, I'm safe. No,
you're not saying if you're doing what they do. There
(01:10:02):
has put a difference be clean between unclean and clean.
When you used to say clean and unclean, but the
scripture says unclean and clean. We got you put a difference.
God's not gonna do it for you.
Speaker 8 (01:10:18):
You have to do it, yes, sir, I was just
I was thinking about you saying about decernment. I can't
remember what I think. I think it's in Hebrews where
he said that those that uh, that are strong in
the word, they have they they have exercised their senses
to desern.
Speaker 3 (01:10:38):
Both both good and evil.
Speaker 8 (01:10:40):
And like the word because when you know the word,
the holy goalst can bring it to your remembrance. They
basically quicken you, so you know how to desern that situation.
So I just thought about like like the word literally,
uh word, you got hell it in you and you
exercise you beyre like you can pick up on stuff.
So quickly I thought about Apostle, how you man, he
(01:11:02):
will always n it. Just seemed like he always knew
what to do when to do it, like the Holygost.
Speaker 16 (01:11:08):
Just let him know.
Speaker 8 (01:11:09):
I say, he got s he had so much word
in him.
Speaker 3 (01:11:12):
So yeah, that word of that word that makes you
s stop dead in your tracks. And said, wait a minute,
that's and I l I laughed because you know, my
kids went to LMCA and uh it was a Bible
s I mean it was a religious school and they
had Bible study. So sometimes people will quote scriptures or
say that quoting scripture and the first thing they were
(01:11:33):
saying that ain't Bible, that ain't scripture. They'll say it
in a minute, that's not scripture. They go to people's
churches and they start s s quoting scriptures and saying
stuff wrong, and they be under they breath, but I
can hear 'em that's not scripture. Or they look at
you scripture. That's not how that scripture go. Amen. That's
(01:11:54):
is not what God is calling for in these last
and evil days. Amen. So I'm gonna stop right right
now and U unless you want me to go further
and finish it up. Oh okay, Oh yeah, babies got
to go to school. Yeah I forgot about that, amen,
even though they stay up past. Oh not Not all
(01:12:16):
the babies got to go to school. Some of the
folks got to go to work. But uh, don't feel
good when folks is falling asleep on you. Amen. Amen,
Uh thanking, praise God. Everybody's standing to their feet. I'm
praying and hoping you got something out of this. I
know some of these it's repeated, but like I said,
when her. When Solomon repeats, he say it in a
(01:12:37):
different but way. So we gonna start with the twenty
second verse and ended ended next Wednesday. If the Lord
say the same. Amen, Man, we thinking praise God for
the scriptures that went forth, and we're hoping that and
praying that somebody got something out of this on this
(01:12:57):
t this evening to just in order to do better,
we gotta be better. In order to be be better,
we gotta do better, and we can't just do. We
have to choose the rather.
Speaker 4 (01:13:13):
Yes, And.
Speaker 3 (01:13:17):
I was looking at up. When you choose the rather, you,
it says you. It indicates one's preference in a particular matter.
It's your preference. So you have to choose the rather.
(01:13:38):
And my mother in law used to always when she
would take me to the grocery store, if she'd take
me pick out something, she said, choose the rather.
Speaker 4 (01:13:45):
Huh.
Speaker 3 (01:13:46):
But a lot of older people used to use scripture,
oh yeah, to answer questions or to make statements. And
when she said, and when they when I read that,
and when uh, brother evangelist utly said that that, I said,
that's the first thing that popped up in my mouth.
When my my mother in law saying, choose your rather,
So you have to make the choice, right, I mean,
(01:14:10):
the choice is yours. You heard the word, and the
word is our security. The word is what keeps us.
The word is what molds us. Amen. And we can't
just hear this word and not be doers of it.
Speaker 10 (01:14:25):
Right.
Speaker 3 (01:14:25):
We can't just come to church and hear the word
and then when we leave we forget all about it.
It has to and we gonna learn that in the
re following. The word has to be in our heart.
We can't just hear it and not do anything about it. Amen.
So well, uplifts the hands. I'm asking the those that
(01:14:47):
are watching or listening, just lift your hands and say, Lord,
I just need you to enlighten me the more and
that that I did hear. O, God, help me be
in accordance to it so I can live a better life.
But first of all, if I'm not saved, I need
to be saved and fill with the Holy Ghost because
you cannot do this, You cannot do this effectively without
(01:15:11):
the Holy Ghost. Because some of this is gonna make
you turn back and say, no, I didn't count up
the calls. I'm not doing all that. But God can
come in and save you and fill you with the
Holy Ghost right now in the name of Jesus. And
once you get that, you need to find a church based,
a Bible based church. Not a church church, but a
Bible based church, somebody that's gonna be preaching the word
(01:15:33):
of God and teaching the word of God, not just preaching,
but breaking down the scriptures so that you can understand.
In the name of Jesus. And we thank you for
those in there here this morning tonight. If there's anything,
if some
