Global entrepreneur and Chef Lillard Royal Lewis Jr. (aka Chef Jay) chats with Nan about all things entrepreneurial, why he traveled to Ghana in 2019, and why we need to change the way we talk about veganism.

On finding success: “You have to project. You vibrate at a certain frequency and you become what you want to see in your life. For me, that vibration was success,” he says.

On what being an entrepreneur means: “An entrepreneur is somebody who is intricately involved in all aspects of their business—at least when you first start,” Chef Jay notes.

On evolution and growth: “It’s foolish not to be nervous about change; however, it’s also foolish to be scared about what you’ve been manifesting,” he points out. “So, if you’re manifesting success, you’re manifesting growth and then you’re scared of growth—now you’re ‘anti-manifesting.’ Think about it.”
