And why is one team worse thanothers? We're gonna talk about Colorado

(00:52):
and ask the question is coach Primeyou know, is he cooked? We'll
talk a little bit about Texas Aand the hiring around in the coaching carousel,
and we'll wrap things up and askthe question did Oklahoma make the best
move? And can USC get JimLeonard? Hit us up on the Unfair

(01:15):
know what you think of the showlove to get your strongest opinions, and
you know we love to hear thatand spit it back at you. So
if you want to potentially hop onthe show and make some noise, hit
us up on that line. Fourthree zero nine zero one one nine oh
six. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know, I know. I've

(01:36):
been owing y'all this for a while. Told y'all was going to try to
get the show back up and running. Then life happens. But you know
what, we're putting together our actualschedule. We plan on following get here
in twenty twenty four, so thesewill still remain sporadic, but we're gonna
get you guys some content where I'mtalking all of college football and not just
my favorite team. So thank y'allfor pulling up as usual, we always
appreciate the support. The channels growingover twelve thousand subs and we're pushing four

(01:59):
to twenty thousand by the end oftwenty twenty four. Actually we can meet
that by the summers. Really thegoal, so we'll be dropping a lot
of content, tons of college footballstuff. I want to talk a little
bit of NFL and NBA down theline as well, probably doing that once
the college football season is completely done, and kind of talk NFL playoffs as
well as talk Super Bowl and thenNBA and all that jazz, because that's

(02:23):
how we stay busy around in thesestreets outside of recruiting. But there's a
lot going on in the college footballworld, and I wanted to dive into
the first and foremost thing that droppedlast night, which is our college football
playoff rankings. And these rankings,of course, per the usual, got
everybody losing their minds. So it'sfunny. I've seen a few people talk
about the logic behind what the committeehas, and to be absolutely honest,

(02:46):
I don't think they really use abunch of logic. And when I walk
through what they have, I askedmyself the question of did the team with
the best win, not the worstloss, but the best win actually get
what they deserve? And I'm gonnabe honest, they didn't. And I

(03:06):
hate to say it because it's arival of mine, but yeah, I
don't think that Texas got done rightin this entire scenario. So let's dive
into what this looks like. Socoeowall playoffs went up your top eight.
Of course, you know it's gonnabe you know, one, two,
three, and four of Georgia,Michigan, Washington, and in Florida State.

(03:29):
Florida State moves up because Ohio Stategot knocked off and they lost at
Michigan for the third straight year ina row. So he had to ask
the question, is Ryan Day gonnaget fired? He ain't gonna get fired
Ohio State. Ain't that ridiculous,But there is some fireball offenses in there
because he lost to Sharon Moore andnot Jim Harbaugh because Harball is on suspension.

(03:52):
So when Harball comes back to playagainst Iowa this weekend and they just
thrash the Hawkeyes because they can't scoreon offense, they're going back to colleg
football playoffs. And I said thisat the beginning of the season as a
joke, but not kind of jokinganymore. Michigan's gonna win the national championship
and then they're gonna vacate all oftheir wins. That sounds so like the

(04:14):
NCAA that it's not even funny anymore. It feels like it's gonna somehow do
that. It's annoying. Yes,I'm annoyed by even the thought of it.
But guess what's probably what's gonna happen. So after Florida State, you've
got Oregon, Ohio State, Texas, Alabama, Missouri, Penn State,
Ole Miss and then Oklahoma. That'syour top twelve, which I think matters.

(04:38):
Then you've got Louisville, I meanLSU, Louisville, Arizona in your
top fifteen. And I'm gonna behonest with all of you it I have
one question around this. So inyour top four makes sense. Georgia,
Michigan, Washington, they're all undefeated. Same thing in Florida State. If
all of them win, they're allin. They're undefeated. Can't argue the

(05:00):
top undefeated teams in college football areall up there right now. Some people
want to make an argument for Liberty, but Liberty does not deserve to go
up there right now, just offof strength of schedule. But Liberty does
deserve to probably be in a NewYear six Bowl game because they're undefeated,
and being undefeated in any conference it'sreally hard to do. You could say,

(05:23):
well, they play was cupcakes, they play cupcakes, they match up
with their own teams talent. It'shard, like that's why teams don't always
go una defeated. It's very rarethat you get undefeated teams because it's really
hard to do so. But youknow, Tulane's gonna get one of those
New Year six Bowls. But I'mlooking at this and that those four makes

(05:44):
sense. Your five through eight confusesme. And this is the reason why
Oregon lost on the road and theydon't really have a signature win. They
don't Ohio State similarly, now theybeat Penn State, who's number ten.
In Penn State lost to both thetop two teams in Michigan and Ohio State.

(06:05):
It lose to them every year,So that's you know, parts of
the course. Texas lost to Oklahomaat a neutral site in their rivalry game,
and Alabama lost to Texas. Sothe only logical thing they did here
is they put Texas above Alabama. But I hate this argument and hate making
this argument for them, while atthe same time, you know, we

(06:26):
make up to a pensive approach tothe sports conversation here. Texas deserves to
be at number five. I saidit, they do. I said it
because Texas has the best win incollege football right now period. They went
to Tuscaloosa and won by double digits. They have the best win. They

(06:47):
lost to number twelve Oklahoma. Theybeat Alabama by double digits on the road.
They have the best win in collegefootball. You could try to argue
that Michigan does by beating Ohio State, but old Michigan beat Ohio State at
home this year. Last year Michiganhad that argument's while they were in They
beat Ohio State in Ohio State makessense, right. Washington beat Oregon at

(07:12):
home Florida State, who have theybeaten to be LSU neutral site still pretty
good win because LSU is thirteenth.LSU has been up and down, but
LSU has still been a solid team. But Oklahoma, but Texas beating Alabama
on the road deserves them to moveup. That's my argument for the long

(07:33):
Corns being above everybody else. Now, the thing that Oregon wins in that,
and I think the committee even saidthis themselves, will remind myself is
that Oregon actually has like one ofthe best point differentials. They basically just
blow out everybody which is supposed todo so that kind of gives them an
edge. I don't think that Texasshould be below Ohio State though, the

(07:56):
way this is lining up, Texashas no chance of making the playoffs zero
zero. They have no chance ofmaking it. They need all four teams
up top to lose all four.Georgia has to lose to Alabama, Michigan
to lose to Iowa, Washingtons tolose to Oregon, and Floridasa has to
lose to Louisville. That's the onlyway that Texas gets in. All four

(08:18):
have to lose. I only seeone of them losing, maybe two,
and that's Washington and Florida State. They have the most challenging going ahead.
Florida State has Louisville with backup quarterbackthat they're playing with, and Louisville struggled
against Kentucky in which tells me Idon't think they're gonna really get Florida State

(08:41):
as much of a problem. ButFlorida State's still playing without their starting quarterback,
Jordan Travis. They've shown that that'snot their entire team. But at
the same time, again, FloridaState has to play without their starting quarterback.
Oregon beats Washington. Depending on howclose of a game it is,
Washington may fall very far. Theymay just flip flop spots. That is

(09:05):
where Texas is gonna run into aproblem. And even if they beat Oklahoma
States soundingly, which Okahoma States eighteenthin these polls, they probably won't make
it. They're gonna be bamboozoo, hoodwinked, led, astray, straight up
deceive by the look of them beingat number seven. And if Alabama beach

(09:26):
Georgia, Alabama ends up having thebest win in college football because they beat
the number one team who's been who'snot lost in three years. Now,
Bama gets the knod is the bestwin. And so that's the way that
Texas has a chance of getting screwedin all of this is because if Alabama
beach Georgia at that neutral site, which is in Atlanta, so I mean,

(09:48):
I mean it's not that it's aboutthe same, not too far but
distance from Tuscaloosa. But still Bamabeach Georgia. Yeah, they're gonna give
them the nod of the best winbecause they beat it team that hasn't been
beaten in three years. What's theargument against that? Now it wasn't on
the road, but what's the argumentagainst that? Right? That's where you're

(10:09):
gonna have to try to figure outhow who do you think is real and
who's not is can Georgia not loseto if Georgia loses to Bama, Like,
does that make Bama more real downthe stretch? Because everybody's argumenting Texas
in the Alabama game is that Texasbeat them in the second week of the
season and Obama isn't the Obama thatis today. But none of these teams

(10:31):
are who they were week two,so it's gonna be confusing. But the
last one on here that confused meis Oklahoma at twelve. So you have
Missouri, Penn State, o Missand Oklahoma tied for two losses, right,
and your argument could be that, well, Oklahoma lost to two unranked

(10:52):
teams, Oklahoma State's now eighteen andKansas is no longer ranked. I can
totally understand that good argument. Whohas the best win of those four teams?
Oklahoma, they have the best win. So if you're going off resume,
all these teams lost. Ole Misslost to Bama and Georgia, Missouri

(11:16):
lost to LSU and Georgia, andPenn State lost to Michigan and Ohio State.
So we asked the question of whosewins are better? Right, Oklahoma's

(11:37):
the only one that's got to winin the top ten. They've got the
most wins out of it. ESPNeven wrote this up, which I thought
was very fascinated that they actually showedsome pro Oklahoma neus in this, because
nobody ever shows pro Oklahomas in this. It's kind of wild to me because

(11:58):
based on pulling the way that theBig Twelve does their rules, there was
a really good chance that Oklahoma wasgonna play in the conference championship game.
But now of course they're not.And so but when you look at things,

(12:22):
Oklahoma is higher rated in just aboutmost of the advanced metrics as Missouri,
Ole miss and Penn State. PennState's best wins are against Iowa and
Northwestern. I don't think Penn Stateshould be that high. They've not shown

(12:46):
a single thing. And so ESPNhas their Quad one opponents, so opponents
in the top upper echelon, andOklahoma has more wins versus those top teams
than Mississippi or Missouri, and weall know that Penn State's schedules paper thin.
So I make the argument here thatOklahoma should be probably higher at least

(13:11):
ten. They've got the best winout of all four of those teams against
Texas. They beat Texas at aneutral site. The other ones lost games
two they lost home games in roadgames. But what about I mean,
for oh miss they lost both theirgames on the road, one of them

(13:31):
was both of them was a doubledigit loss on the road. Missouri's two
losses were one was a double digitand New Georgia one was a little bit
closer. But I don't see anythingabout Penn State that tells me that they
deserve to be where they're at.They're combined for what, twenty seven points
against the two rivals, twelve pointsand fifteen points against Ohio State and then

(13:58):
Michigan at home. They didn't loseby double digits in either one of those
games, though, We'll give themthat, but it's also the Big Ten.
They don't seem to score a lotof points. So I asked the
question, what is their best winbesides blowing out Iowa thirty one to zero.
And the only reason why Iowa wasin the conference championship game is because

(14:18):
what i was on the other sideof another paper thin schedule resume, So
I asked the argument, how canhop into comments? Let me know what
y'all thoughts. I'm a little annoyedon that portion of it. But at
the same time, you know, the committee didn't have logic. I don't
know why we think they do,Like why we even argue towards the fact
that they have logic, because they'veshown us for the last what four years,
that there's a lot of non logicin any of it. So yeah,

(14:43):
we'll see what that looks like goingforward. So let's flip the switch
over here and let's talk about someof his coaching carousel. Right, So
Texas A and M got their guy, they went ahead and hired Elko,
and I thought that was the besthire. Now it's funny to me because

(15:05):
you saw that they first was gonnahire Stoops, Mark Stoops from Kentucky,
and the rumor came out that theonly reason why they didn't hire him is
because the board didn't approve it.Now, what makes it funny is that
they basically said they wanted Stoops andthey passed on him because the board decided

(15:26):
that they didn't feel like he wasthe coach for them, right, And
I get it, I guess. But the funny thing is is, you
know, the running joke is nowthat they decided that they didn't want a
seven and five coach from a basketballschool Kentucky Mark Stoops. So instead they

(15:48):
hired a coach, a seven andfive coach from a basketball school that also
wears blue Elko and Duke. Becausesomebody explained the logic to me on that,
and it's funny because I looked atElko's contract and I am very,
very very very disappointed in Jimmy Sextonin the utmost way. Jimmy Saxon let

(16:10):
this man go there on a sixyear, seven million dollar contract forty two
mil. He took half of whatJimbo Fisher got in his extension. And
I'm guessing a booster said, well, the school decided that they wanted to
do the Jimbo Fisher thing. Weain't touching it because I heard the booters
are ain't even paying to buy outat school has to do it. Okay,

(16:33):
that makes sense, But Jimmy Sexon, what are you doing? What
is this Jimmy, this is nota Jimmy Sexton contract. I'm a little
disappointed. I'ma be honest, Iam hardcore disappointed that this is what we
got out of this. But oh, it's okay. I do think that

(16:56):
the Elko hiring was a really goodhire for them. That was probably one
of their better ones. Right, you can't beat hiring Elko, who spent
time at A and M as adefensive coordinator. And the smart move about
that hire is that he actually willmost likely retain majority of the staff,

(17:22):
especially on the defensive side. Ifhe keeps Elijah Robinson Texas A and M
loveses. None of those big timedefensive line and they had and to be
honest, the way that that Duketeam played, they were super physical.
Now, the question is gonna beis who's gonna be the offensive coordinator and
does he get himself a quarterback similarto Riley Leonard that can light up college

(17:49):
football? Or can he convince rightA Leonard to transfer. That's what they're
gonna need. They're gonna need aquarterback. They're gonna need a quarterback and
need the offensive court that's gonna beable to make this quarterback do his thing.
Now, So if honestly, ifElkos smart, he goes in there
and he hires his OC there atDuke, bring him over and they convinced

(18:11):
Leonard to follow right like, that'sthe way it makes the most sense.
I think that that that's the logicalone. So if unless Duke decides to
keep Kevin Johns, I think thatElk cole be smart to snatch that man
back up and say, hey, come over here, bring Riley Leonard and

(18:33):
let's do it again, but doit in the sec this time. Ain't
just be healthy and Leonard will behealthy by next season. That's the most
logical move. But I'll tell youthat was a good hire by Texas A
and M. That was the hireI said they should have done. And
the reason why I said that isbecause the retention of the talent that they
currently have should be the most importantand the number one thing on their list

(18:56):
of things to do is that. And so shout out to them for being
smart and keeping and retaining talent, because not very many teams are smart enough
to actually do that like you're supposedto. They did it. They did
everything that you are supposed to dowhen hiring a coach. They found the

(19:21):
guy that made the most sense, that has the most continuity with everything they
have going on there, and enoughsuccess to where there's some realisticness there like
A and M. I don't knowwhat makes them think that they're a Tier
one team. They're not. I'llsay this though, I will agree with
Josh paid they are one of thebest jobs in college football because you get
paid a lot of money and you'regonna get fired and take home a lot

(19:45):
of money. But the other thingis is when you look at this,
like they populated his Elkos contract,Texas did as well as his salary pool.
He got eleven million salary pool tohire his assistant coaches, analysts,
operations and everything. He got elevenmillion. Pretty good if you really think

(20:06):
about it, right, He's gonnabe able to bring in some of the
best of the best to do thingsdown there. That's a good move,
right, Yeah, It's definitely whatwe would have not expected from Texas A

(20:29):
and M. Now I'll just keepthat a buck. I didn't expect that
Texas A and M to actually makethat decision. That was probably when they're
smart ones. So that coach isa good hire. Now let's look at
the other two coaches that got hired. You've got Jonathan Smith going over to
Michigan State and then Jeff Levy takesthe Mississippi State job. And when I
saw the Jonathan Smith hire, Iwas like, man, that sucks for

(20:49):
Oregon State. You got a homegrowndude, and he bounces to take another
head coaching job because they're gonna payhim a hell of a lot more money.
More so because you guys don't havea conference right now. I feel
bad for the Beavers on that one. That that was kind of that hurt
me for them. I would havethought that they would have found a way

(21:10):
to retain that man, and unfortunatelythey did not. Their guy just wasn't
gonna work out. And but himgoing to Michigan, Michigan State pretty good
hire. Michigan State has the moneyand the capabilities on the talent pool to
have successful seasons. We've seen it. We've seen the level of seasons out
of Michigan State. They they havedone a lot more with a lot less.

(21:38):
So that that was a smart hire. And I think that so far
the Highers that we've seen have beenthe best. And then of course Jeff
Lebby going to Mississippi State, andso, you know, I've had my
qualms with Levy as a Oklahoma fan, but the one thing I always pointed
out is that he has one ofthe best offenses in college football. He
did quite can consistently. Right. This may have been his first time really

(22:03):
running the place here at Oklahoma. But Jeff Levy was a hot name when
we hired him, right, Like, you know, the rumors around Georgia
and Alabama calling him to come there, legit, they had interest because of
his offenses. And what did hedo this year? Put up a top
five offense again, So miss STEEPIState's gonna get a guy that, you

(22:25):
know, first time he getting ahead coaching job. We just gotta see
if he can handle it as ahead coach and offensive coordinator. People think
that it's easy to do with thelane train's done with the lane trains also
done in three jobs. Takes timeto be able to be an offensive coordinator
and a head coach. Really makeit work, you know. I think
the bigger thing is is that whodepends on who Lebby hires as his offensive

(22:48):
coordinator. Because Levy's gonna be themain play caller. He's gonna be the
one that veatos it. But he'sgonna have an OC that's gonna run someplace
for him. Right, He's gonnamake it easy on themselves. And there
was the rumors that he was tryingto pull a couple of Oklahoma coaches tried
to get his boy Joe John Finley, which I really thought he was gonna
go with him. That was theone coach I said was probably gone.
And then you're bringing Seph la Treillup. He takes over tight ends,

(23:10):
but it appears that Seth Latreill andjo John Finley will be the offensive coordinators
now, so it's not gonna happen. And then DeMarco Murray was one that
was rumored to go potentially well.He had been offered as well as been
beaten bow and they're all Oklahoma guys, so it's like, nah, I
don't think they want to leave thatjob, which makes a lot of sense,
right, You don't want to goeven though the opportunity to be an

(23:32):
offensive coordinator is, you know, pretty fruitful for you, especially if you
have aspirations of being a head coach. They're like, nah, we'll be
good. And it's funny because youknow, depending on how good your your
room is and how good your playersproduce, and how much of an up
and coming you are. I've seenguys get head coaching jobs out of being
a position coach. I mean, hell, Syracuse is about to hire the

(23:53):
dB coach over there at Georgia, right, So it can happen, it's
just not very often. But JoeJohn Finley was an up and coming guy,
so it made sense for Oklahoma togive him the offensive coordinator CoA spot
with Seph Latrell, who has runoffenses and run a team. He was
the head coach at North Texas andso because he has that experience, it
makes the most sense. And soMississippi State taking in Jeff Levy's gonna do

(24:17):
nothing but keep the type of playersthey have on roster are built Ford Levee's
type of system because they basically playedunderneath Mike Leach, you know, rest
in peace. So that's gonna keepthat continuity they needed right there on the
spot, which shout out to MississippiState for that portion of it. Think
that that was actually a smart deal, right, And so I like the

(24:48):
coaching higher so far it looks likeSean Lewis. And that transitioned us right
into the next topic of discussion,Colorado. Let's talk about Colorado real quick.
So Sean Lewis got demoted, andbecause he got demoted, we have

(25:15):
to ask the question is Colorado doingthe right move? Right? Well,
that was the right move is Coloradocooked? I guess you can ask the
question. And so they demoted SeanLewis. Tim Brewster just left. He
decided to resign, and that shockedme that he stepped down because Tim was
a Jackson State coach. Like TimBrewster followed Prime from Jackson State here and

(25:42):
I would have never thought that hewas gonna be the one that's gonna go
step down. He felt like hewas a you know, he was a
coach. Prime guy. Shocked mewhen I saw that, right, So
now he stepped down. There wethee Sean Lewis is about to get a
head coaching job of San Diego State, which granted he deserves it. He's

(26:04):
a really good coach. If youput the right talent in front of him,
he can do it. And goingto San Diego State, they've got
some pretty solid talent. I thinkhe's going to be successful there. His
offense is shown to be very innovativeand successful. Hell, he did a
really good job at Colorado with shoulderingthem offense. Passing in Temple wasn't their
problem. Their problem. The offensiveline was really bad and their defense was

(26:26):
not very good. And it happensright, but Colorado's also dealing with a
lot of other stuff. I meanfrom there's an article that came out that
Colorado did not have insurance for likedisability insurance. How do you not have

(26:52):
that? So they weren't insured.Saw this article at the end of September
from Yeaho's sports was slipped through thecracks. I'm gonna be honest. Travis
Hunter gets hurt. They found outthat they did not have any type of
live ability insurance. So they needtotal disability and critical injury coverage and income

(27:12):
protection for their players. They didn'thave any of that in place. Now
I think they've secured it since, but how did they not have that in
place when you have players like ShaduraSanders and Travis Hunter. Travia Hunter gets
hurt. Coudn't fine out you andgot it now? They gotta get it
just in case, you know nota Hunter's back healthy and Shadure has a
fractured back. Geez Louise. SoColorado's and shambles. And then they lost

(27:40):
what five d commits. They hadfive players de commit in the last month,
so they lost Danny O'Neil the quarterback, which makes sense. He was
a Sean Lewis guy. They lostAntoine Hill, the quarterback in the twenty
twenty five class, makes sense.Sean Lewis is gone. They lost Talon
Chandler out of Missouri decided to stayhome and go to the University of Missouri.

(28:03):
And then they lost Winston Watkins juniorin which he said he don't know
if Coach Prime's gonna be here, and Jamrie Wilder out of Venice, Florida
three star running back also decommitted. So they've seen five players in the month
of November de commit, three fromtwenty five. So their entire twenty five

(28:27):
classes de committed in twenty twenty four, and that begs the question is there's
signs that Coach Prime might be goneafter this coming season. If Watkins decided
that I don't want to go committhere because I don't know if he's gonna
be there, are has the shineof Prime been rubbed off. I'm gonna
be honest, I don't still doubthim. They won four games this year

(28:48):
after only winning one, and hereplaced the entire roster. Now people lost
their minds when he did that, but I was like, that's what you're
supposed to do. They went oneand eleven last year, like did you
think he was gonna go four? And with the same players they went one
and eleven. Last year. Youclean house, You try to find the
best players you can, and thenyou let players go. Now, as

(29:11):
approach might not have been the best, but I mean, if you've been
in the locker room with coaches andplayers, they'll tell you that's not uncommon.
What he did is not something that'sjust oh my gosh, mind blowing.
Can't believe that it happened. No, that's usually what happens. That's
a very common way that has beendone. I don't know what to think
about Colorado right now, but Ido still think that they have a bright

(29:33):
future. Now. They're struggling ona recruiting trail. Right now, they're
twenty four classes sitting what in likethe sixties, on two, four,
seven, forties and on three. They got a lot of work to do
in home visits over the next monthbefore early signing day, because if Prime

(29:55):
was to be successful there in Colorado, they're going to want to have these
kids in in January to really startbuilding them up. The question now is
gonna be who their offensive coordinator.I hope it's not gonna be Pat Shermer.
I hope he doesn't stick to theold head coach from the NFL.
He's great to have as an analyst, someone that can help facilitate things and

(30:17):
help people understand what makes the mostsense. You don't need a major offensive
coordinator. You need a different playcaller. You need somebody that's gonna work
and leverage that altitude to the highestlevel. I mean, someone like Sean
Lewis did. And I honestly thoughtthat Sean Lewis was gonna stick around.
I thought Sean Lewis was gonna bethe next head coach Colorado when Prime left.
I really did, But doesn't looklike that. Now he's gonna have

(30:44):
to get his class going. Imean, he told his boys he's proud
of him. He wasn't disappointed. He won four games. Love it,
I mean they did. I thoughtthey were only six and six, but
they lost two games that they shouldnot have lost. And so now we
have to beg the question of canColorado bounce back and go to a Bowl
game next year Misha dur comes back. I can see it with Travis Hunter

(31:07):
and them, you know, CaimartiMcClain and I can see it they just
gotta go do it now, right, They gotta go do it, and
I don't. Yeah, I'm notfighting with the fact that coach Prime did
what he did. I mean,he's he's building something there Colorado, and

(31:29):
so yeah, I'm still one ofthe optimistic people. A lot of y'all
hate him. He felled in youreyes that he's supposed to. He didn't
fill in my eyes. He wonfour games and he b TCU on the
road start the season off. Theymost they were the most most watched team
in college football. Gotta give himthat. They did something they were supposed
to do, right, And soPrime's gotta figure this out. If he

(31:51):
figures it out, he'll be fine. That's gonna be. The hard part
is figuring out what to do withthese players that ain't coming there right now.
Hopefully they still coming because I'm stillgonna be rete. Okay, So
we talked about Oklahoma a little bitin the coaching change carousel, and we
have to ask the question, Oklahomamake the right move now. I'm being

(32:12):
honest. I like the move thatOklahoma has done with Seth Latrell and Joe
John Finley because it makes the mostsense and continuity Wise. Right, So
we talked about in another video.Got more detail on that. I'll let
you guys check that one out,but I want to talk about USC and
what they've got next. Right,So, there's reports going around that USC
is looking at Jim Leonard as theirnew defensive coordinator and did some digging on

(32:39):
it or whatnot. And the onething you got to remember about Jim Leonard
is that Jim Leonard has like notleft the Midwest. But I'll say this,
The thing that helps USC is thatUSC is moving too what the big

(33:01):
ten. So there's gonna be alot of games that direction for him,
right. You know, it's prettygood because when you look at the job
wise, he came back to Wisconsinafter playing in the NFL in twenty sixteen.
He was at Wisconsin as the dBcoach, then he was the decoordinator
there and then he was the interimhead coach and now he's at Illinois as

(33:24):
an analyst. I know at onepoint he was looking at doing a defensive
coordinator job in the NFL, andI think he pulled his name out of
the Eagles running because he was Ithink he had surgery and so because of

(33:45):
that, he's never really left hisarea, right, So I think that
he's potentially looking for an NFL job, which is one thing that I've read
in a few places. But USCwould be smart and they the genius move
would be to hire him. Andthe best way to do that, honestly,

(34:06):
they would need to go ahead andlet that man bring in his entire
staff that he wants to bring in, let him hire his own people and
all of that. I know thattraditionally in the Riley way of doing things
is that he would want to havethat coach retain his staff or certain people.

(34:27):
No, no, no, no, you don't do that. If
you bring in Jim Leonard, youlet him do what he wants to do.
You let him take who he wantsto take. You let him bring
in who he wants to bring in, because the last thing you will want
to do is bring a coach likehim who's really good at defense. And
I mean he was actually was funny. He was Reggie Pearson's coach while was

(34:50):
that Wisconsin. You don't let aguy like him not have his own staff
members. If he wants to cleanhouse, let them clean house. They
don't bring in the guys he wantto bring in because he produced a good
defense in Wisconsin. He did. They were like efficiency wise, they top
two in the country. So now, granted we talk about how the Big

(35:13):
ten and their cupcake schedules and youknow, all of that jazz, and
he produced some really good defenses thereat Wisconsin, and so you let him
pick who he wants. And sothe question is gonna be, is USC
gonna allow that is Lincoln Riley gonnalet this man just come in there,
bring in fire everybody on the defenseside of the ball, and say this
is who I want. Possibly,But the other question is is what USC

(35:36):
is gonna do about their strength andconditioning situation, because we've talked about how
the players just they look smaller, they don't look very strong, and they
get pushed around, and their defenseshave given up a lot of yards every
single season he's been head coach somewhere, a lot of points, a lot

(35:57):
of points. Now, I telleverybody, when when it comes to a
defense, if you give up abunch of yards and you give up no
points, it's kind of a goodthing about your defense. Like you're letting
people get stuff in between, butyou're forcing them still to either punt the
ball kick field goals or he's stoppingthem on fourth down or red zone.
Pretty darn good, that's what youwant to do. And so for USC

(36:21):
sake, they gotta stop letting peoplescore, and I think Leonard can do
that for them. Right. Hisdefense is, like I said, they're
pretty good. He's done well onthe defensive side of the ball, and
he's been a finalist for the BrowsAward. So you can't beat that for
a young coach, right, yougotta let this man pick who he wants.
And mean, he's forty one yearsold, so he's still very young

(36:43):
and around the age of Lincoln Riley. If you want to see success,
you bring in Jim Leonard, youlet him do his thing. I don't
see USC letting him do that, though. I don't see Riley letting him
do that, which is a mistakeon their part. If USC wants to
see success in the big they needa guy with the mind that can handle
the Big ten. And you've gota guy that's had success defensively in the

(37:05):
Big ten. Why would you notfind a way to get Jim Leonard and
give him what he wants. Youneed to open the check book up and
Honestly, I put to you thisway, make the man head coaching waiting
period. Just do it. Youknow that at some point Lincoln Rally's gone.
Lincoln Rally is not a lifer atUSC, He's not a lifer in

(37:27):
college football. He's going to leave. Let the man be your coaching waiting
and tell him now you've got thejob. We'll give you, however many
years to do it, because Iknow Leonard was upset that he couldn't get
the job there at Wisconsin and he'sinterim head coach. He ran it for
a year and they didn't you know, you know, he ran it from

(37:51):
what basically the entire season from Octoberto the rest of the year, and
they didn't retain them. He deserveda little bit better. But the same
time, Lou Fickle was a reallygood hired for Wisconsin. So I'm wondering
if Jim Leonard is gonna be thehigher that USC can close. Y'all think
he can do it? Hop inthe comments let me know what y'all thoughts.
I'm curious to how y'all feel aboutthat. I don't know what USC

(38:14):
is gonna do to be successful thisyear, but you know, they got
a lot of stuff to fix internally, but one good way to put actual
you know, needle to skin andclose up some of those wounds instead of
putting band aids on them. JimLeonard, he'd be surgery. Let him

(38:35):
just cut out all the staff andbring in who he wants, or even
retain who he wants, but lethim have control on defensive side of ball.
Promise you y'all see a lot moresuccess. But since he hasn't signed
on the line which has dot ityet, I'm concerned. I have concerned
about that hiring. So let meknow you'all thoughts. All right, we'll
wrap this bad boy up with abowel, and thank y'all for pulling up.
