(00:49):
it ranked. And then I'm gonnagive you my tiered preseason top twenty five,
and we may dabble into a littlebit of Colorado in Tennessee. Hit

zero six and let's don't just thinkof the show. We would love to
get your strongest opinions, and possiblywe may end up on one of these
episodes. So hit us up fourthree, zero, nine, zero,

(01:11):
one one nine oh six. Man, man, I gotta say, oh,
Week zero was of course of excitement. We are in football, baby,
we are headed into week one,so we've got to recap what happened
in the first week. And so, as I told you all before,
as we're building up this show,my Unfair Sports Podcast, the YouTube channel,

(01:34):
the podcast itself, my goal hereis to give you under an hour
of just solid content. We're gonnatalk through hopefully seven to eight minutes segments
on each maybe four to five differenttopics, and we're gonna fly right through
it. But today, the lastportion of the show will definitely be longer
because we're really gonna go through thepreseason tiers that I have. I'm not

(01:57):
doing a Top twenty five. I'veprofessed this before and told everyone I hate
any poll that comes out before weekfour, so mine will be teared out.
I'm gonna have four tiers of thirtyteams that will tell you who I
think are the best teams in thecountry. We're gonna keep it at that.
Every week we will tear them outbased upon who I think can make

(02:19):
the college with all playoffs who's playoffbound, who can make a New Year's
six playoff, as well as whodo I think it's gonna make a bowl
game? And which is going withthose thirty eight teams, and that's it.
I mean, it's of course there'smore than that, but we're gonna
look at the top thirty teams inthe country there. But we're gonna lead
off this entire conversation. We've gotto talk about week zero. Man.
Week zero was great. You hadsome excitement coming from the noted game Navy

(02:45):
game, and there's reasons why thereshould be excitement there, and then we
got questions from the USC and SanJose State game. If you watch my
boy Tie Haze from around the Tablessports Hiss through the Haze on Monday morning,
he really he broke it down well. And there's a few points he
made that I definitely got a touchon. And so we'll be diving into
all of that. So let's startoff with the first game here on week

(03:07):
zero, which is Navy versus NotreDame. Of course, Notre Dame walked
in here and cooked him forty twoto three out in Dublin, Ireland.
So they traveled across the country toget drugged, if I'm correct, twenty
sixteen eighty upset Notre Dame. SoBrian Kelly felt that one, and Marcus

(03:28):
Freeman sat night it's not gonna happen. And so when I watched this game,
there was a couple of things thatjust that jumped out to me.
First and foremost, it appears thatNotre Dame has a quarterback. Now,
granted, if you went on thereand looked at Twitter or any social media
site, basically everybody was saying heHartman's won the Heisman. He went out
there nineteen for twenty three, twofifty one four tuddies. He looked good.

(03:51):
He looked good. But he's alsogot like with three thousand snaps for
his career. I think that's whatthey said on the broadcast. He's a
super senior. He has played sixyears of college football. He leveraged that
COVID year. I mean he threwfor four thousand yards is what technically senior
year in college. So we've seenhim go out there and play. I

(04:15):
mean, he missed his second yeardue to injury and was able to add
that additional year. But we've seenSam Hartman put up numbers and The good
thing for Hartman is is that he'swalking into a team that really needed a
quarterback. Remember they lost their offensivecoordinator, Tommy Rees, and so for
Notre Dame, the biggest thing wasfiguring out their identity, figuring out what
they want to do. And nowthey have a to me a captain in

(04:39):
Sam Hartman that's gonna make a differencefor them. The best part about Hartman
for them is this he's old.And it's no shade to him being twenty
four years old in college football.I mean, it feels like what an
eternity. But the good thing forhim is, I mean he's what a
year younger than Jalen Hurts, who'sgoing into his second NFL contract, and

(05:00):
roughly about the same age as HendonHooker, who is an older quarterback in
the NFL right now, he's notgoing to really play much this first year
because of that knee injury that happenedright before Rose at the South Carolina game.
So Hartman as an opportunity too.I mean, he'll be an older
player and some teams don't mind enemysteps and bendets out there doing some things,
and so it depends on what thoseteams feel like they they want in

(05:25):
the NFL. But outside of that, this gives Notre Dame to me a
good advantage in in just the fieldplay. They've got an experienced quarterback who's
seen just about everything, so heshould be prepared every single week going to
see these games. And so Ican't even sleep on Notre Dame anymore.
Like I mean, I got thatNotre Dame came in here ranked number thirteen

(05:46):
in the country for the most part. ESPN's pole and I questioned, and
of course I'm just like m We'llsee what they look like. But getting
Sam Hartman to me makes a difference. Audrick estimate, Yeah, yeah,
that he's bowling balld five and ahalf yards per carry, had ninety five
yards in a touchdown. If NotreDame's smart, that one hundred and ninety

(06:06):
one yards say, rushed for inthis game is not going to be the
last time they do it. They'regonna get They're gonna pound the ball.
But Sam Hartman gives them an edgethat really helps them this coming season.
And so I'm not here, LikeI said, I can't knock what they
did. I can knock their performance. I can't even question how were they
performed, but he's out here balland that's gonna be a big deal for

(06:27):
them going forward, especially because thekey thing that Notre Dame is gonna need
to do is in order to besuccessful this season is make sure they got
some competent quarterback play, which wequestioned after Tommy Reese left, they made
a promotion from within at the offensivecoordinator position. So oh, you know,
letting said Grod Parker move up andreplace Tommy Reese probably was one of

(06:51):
the smartest things that they did.And Tommy Reese going out in Alabama,
you know, we're gonna see whatthat looks like. And and he took
the old quarterback buckner and so becauseof that, we got to ask the
question is can Notre Dame move forward? And so I'm excited to see I
asked the question on Twitter. Imean, people have laughed at me about
it, but I asked the questionbased upon the way they played in this

(07:13):
game. Well, they give USCproblems. I think they can give Ohio
State problems. It's just the wayHartman plays with so much confidence. So
they look good. I believe thatthey're one of these teams that we cannot
sleep on this coming season. Theirschedule is quite favorable as well, and
so when you look at who theyhave to play over the next couple of
weeks, you have, let's seepull up Notre Dame schedule. They go

(07:36):
Tennessee State next week at home, which will be easy. When they travel
to North Carolina State, which Ibelieve they'll win that game, Central Michigan
should be a win. Ohio State'sgoing to be a challenge. I don't
see them winning that game, butI would not be surprised, especially because
Ohio State has to bring in anew quarterback. I'll talk about that in
my meaning behind that when I gothrough my tears, because there's a reason

(07:57):
why I feel like with a lotof these traveling the Duke traveling Louisville,
they should be able to win those. But USC coming to town on the
fourteenth of October is gonna be afascinatingly fun game because we'll talk about them
on the other side. But we'vealways got the same question about USC,

(08:18):
what is that defense gonna look like? Lincoln Riley will put together some of
the most fantastic offenses in college football, very creative, very well executed,
but we have to ask the question, what are they gonna look like playing
defense, and luckily for us,Notre Dame has shown us what they're gonna
look like on the offensive side.Now. Granted, the most you get

(08:39):
out of a week zero game, especially playing a team like Navy who just
got a new coach and it's notstarting off very well for him, is
you get an understanding of what theidentity is gonna be. Notre Dame walked
out there and took the lead twentyeight to nothing to start the first half.
They walked in to dominate and finishedthe game forty two and somehow gave
up a field go to the fourthquarter, in which I'm kind of intrigued

(09:01):
as to why Navy actually pat kickthe field goal, Like, why would
you even do that when you're losingthat bad There's no reason kick fiel don't
over points and so yeah, theybasically waved the white flag, let's put
it that way, And that's kindof disappointing to me. Go for the

(09:22):
tuddies. You gotta go for points. Even if you don't. I'd rather
you lose, honestly, I'd ratheryou lose. Take zero points in it,
take three points in the fourth quarterif you to kick that field on
the first half. I wouldn't besaying anything, but they kicked that in
the fourth quarter, Like what's thevalue in that? But no. But
the thing about it is is NotreDame walked in there and gave us a
dominant performance, something you're supposed todo. And I know, granted we're
all saying, oh, it's Navy, They're supposed to do that. Yes,

(09:46):
they did what they're supposed to do. They execute it on the game
plan and made it happen. Believeme, we're gonna talk about another game.
You're gonna ask questions of yeah, did they do that right? And
that's what it is. So Ithink Notre Dame's gonna be fun to watch.
Hopping the comments, let your boyknow what's your thoughts. Do you
feel like Notre Dame can give ussomething good this coming season? Of course
I look through all of these commentsand I'll be chopping up with you all

(10:09):
on that. We definitely need totalk about what Notre Dame looks like coming
season. Are you do you feellike Notre Dame is someone to keep our
eyes on, because based upon theirschedule, will being quite favorable with the
veteran quarterback We've got three games. It's gonna be fun from Ohio State,
USC and Clemson this coming season. It's gonna be fun. Okay, let's

(10:33):
jump into the second game. Okay, game number two, we have USC.
San Jose's stating, of course,I know I had to talk about
it. I'm a Suitor fan.We had to dive into this game because
everybody was topping noise, like everybody'sbeen losing their mind on this game,
which is even more hilarious to me. But everybody has been losing their mind
because if you watched this game, you've got more questions than answers about USC.

(10:58):
Because as I mentioned, and whenI talked about the Notre Dame Navy
game yes week zero, doesn't tellyou much except for what these teams could
potentially be or look like. Andso when I look at this game,
of course we know that Caleb Williamsis it. Caleb Williams is Caleb Williams.
He threw for two seventy eight elevenyards per past four tuddies. He
did what he was supposed to do. Hell, they didn't brought in Miller

(11:20):
Moss for a while. He threwfor sixty three yards. Now like Kai
Nelson threw three passes in the gameand only completely one of them. But
that's not the point. They walkedin there and did what we expected him
to do on the offensive side ofthe ball. You want to know who
the truth is. I'm gonna givethem their praise right now. Zacharya brich
zee Bridge. Yeah, that thatkids truth. He is everything advertised and

(11:43):
more like. I don't have aquestion at all about him. He literally
walked in there and looked like,Yeah, the best player on the field
outside of Caleb. I mean,he was everywhere. I think what all
purpose yards he had had almost twohundred yards of all purpose yards. I

(12:03):
didn't write down the exact number, but he had sixty six yards on punts,
nineties six yards on that kick returnedtouchdown that he made, and then
he went out there on the offensiveside caught four catches for fifty eight yards,
and then he ran the ball fortwelve yards. Yeah, that's about

(12:24):
two hundred yards of all purpose yards. Plus. He's gonna be it like
he's gonna be the offensive weapon thatLincoln Riley has dreamed of. He's really
good at everything, and that's afreshman guy's true freshman. So USC's got
a weapon on the offensive side.Running game was okay. You know,
Austin Jones got his fifty four kids. I was wondering who's gonna really carry

(12:46):
the low But it looks like Kimand Marshawn Lloyd are gonna be your your
backs. And I was hoping tosee more Releak Brown, but he had
one catch in the game. Hemoved wide receiver. But we know we've
got talk about the defense, rightlike, we've got to go ahead and
address that. And boy did Twitterexplode about alex Grint's defense the speed d

(13:09):
First of all, bar a Alexanderdropped with twenty something pounds. He's he's
just over three hundred pounds now he'sgotten smaller. I don't know how many
three hundred pounders they actually have onthis team. If I'm correct, they've
dropped our third of them. Butthe most important thing with the entire conversation
is that USC defense is gonna bea problem. And this is why I

(13:31):
say that. Now, I knowUSC fens will jump in here and say,
oh, you're oklahomapha, you're ahater, blah blah blah. It's
cool, yes, throw all thatat me. The score was twenty one
to fourteen at the half against SanJose State, twenty one to fourteen at
the half, that was your score? Is that a good thing? Like?

(13:56):
And I'm and I'm I'm one hundredpercent I'm keeping it in a buck
without it's at a good thing becausethis team only lost four games last year,
so they were at four. Theyweren't bad, was that? Uh?
At five? Seven and five?Actually they're sending five last year.

(14:16):
I mean maybe had a bowl game. They weren't, you know, awful.
But I'm asking the question, isit a good thing for USC to
give up twenty one fourteen points inthe first half and only be up twenty
one fourteen because at a certain pointin that game, San Jose State ran

(14:37):
out of gas. Second half, they basically were cooked, and then USC
exerted their dominance on it. Andyou know, I was looking at some
of the PFF scores or whatnot, and bar Alexander didn't how to solid game.
He was disruptive the entire time.He just didn't get very many stats.
So I don't look at stats fully. I go and look at the
analytics on that because I want tounderstand how many hurries they had, how

(14:58):
much pressure they put on the quarterbackand how often did disrupt plays? And
Barrett did not have a bad game, but overall that defense did not look
good. And so it's funny becauseI'm looking at this, USC was what
a thirty point favorite in this game? Let me give you the exact numbers
so I can remember they were thirtyone and a half point favorites at kickoff,

(15:18):
thirty one a half point favorites, and they won the game. Fifty
six is oney eight. That's notcovering the spread at all. And so
I thought that was funny because Isay, okay, let me look this
up. And of course, assoon as I'm thinking about what this spread
looks like, George Story of fromOn three Sooner writer put up Lincoln Riley's

(15:39):
against the spread numbers. Lincoln Riley'steams are thirty nine and thirty nine,
thirty eight and one all time againstthe spread, thirty nine, thirty eight
and one all time against the spread. USC finished. You tell me hop
in the comments? Is that agood thing? At Oklahoma? He was

(16:00):
thirty one, thirty one and one. It's about fifty percent, as in,
don't bet on Oklahoma at the timewhen he was there to cover the
spread, and it looks like ashe's going into his time there at USC,
what's that eight seven, eight andseven against the spread since he's been

(16:22):
there? Should I bet on USCgames? Because this is thirty one and
a half point spread and it wasnot covered, and it was mainly because
the defense was just given up yards. Like George who was a George Sports
over from Fox Sports, had hebasically ripped up the defense. Jeff Shorts,
I'm sorry, Jeff, he basicallyripped up defense because of that third

(16:49):
and twenty two that was given upin the quarterback ran for thirty yards and
it was all because it was likean exotic defensive play with a whole bunch
of blitzing and it just left andhole. It looked like they were supposing
to the quarterback spot, but itappears that they was actually spying the quarterback.
And Jeff lost his mind, likelost his mind. He's like,

(17:11):
what is this? Like why wouldyou do that? They did it.
They gave up the yards. AndI mean, I know that all y'all
are going to defend. Man,I'm looking at y'all's message board now,
man, and y'all have been flamingyour DC and that's definitely not a good

(17:33):
thing. And I talk about this. USC gave up one hundred and ninety
eight yards and one of the runningbacks for San Jose State actually rushed.
For hold a second, let megive it to you. He was averaging
five point two yards of carrying.Overall, the team average seven point three

(17:55):
yards to carry. One running backsix carries, quite Conley carries one hundred
eight yards eighteen eight yards per carry. As long as it's fifty seven quarterback
fifty two yards rushing. The pointis you could have scrambling quarterback, a
good scrambling quarterback. Problems show upfor USC. So I'm hoping schematically that

(18:17):
changes. But I'm just telling y'allnow that's my concern if this, If
if San Jose State had they hadone hundred ninet eight yards pass, ninety
eight yards rushing, so they hadwhat three hundred and ninety six yards total
in the game, I would notfault fat. If USC was up twenty

(18:37):
eight to nothing at the half,I cannot be mad at y'all at that
point because in the second half they'vegot to just they're just gonna be throwing
the ball NonStop and at some pointyou're gonna be converting. But three hundred
ninety six to five hundred and onegiving up twenty four first downs to your
twenty five. Everybody's tried to telly'all, man, y'all gotta be concerned

(18:59):
about that defense. Week one cando nothing but tell you that you're executing
like you're supposed to, or you'redoing really bad, or there's a sign
of worry. And I'm gonna tellyou now, I'm worried about USC.
That's just me. Top of thecomments that your boy know what's your thoughts?
Do you? Are you all worriedabout USC's defense. I would love
to hear from you all now,the moment you've all been waiting for before

(19:23):
we do that. If you've madeit this far, hit that like button,
if you knew to the child subscribe, we would love to have you
join this college football Families. We'retalking all college football all the time on
this channel, mainly a lot ofOklahoma stuff, but we are branching out,
especially with this podcast as well asthe videos coming down the line.
So the more of y'all that showup, the more I can dedicate time

(19:44):
to building more videos, and sowe're gonna dive into my preseason top twenty
five tiers. We're gonna preview thegames that are coming up on Friday,
so you'll have my preview of theweekend games. And we've got the Florida
Utah game on Thursday. Oh mygoodness, college football is back based.
I am so excited. So Imay talk about that game. Actually we'll

(20:06):
talk, we'll recap that game insteadof actually talking about it. But let
me dive into my top twenty fivepre season tiers. Now there's my disclaimer.
I do not like poles the firstfour weeks of the season because it's
two reasons. One, you reallydo not know unless it's the number one
team in the nation. And Isay this, I'll even extend grace to

(20:30):
the four teams that did make theplayoff. They should probably be ranked in
the top four just because they madeit. I don't mind extending grace for
that, even a fluke season likeTCU. They deserve to be up there
because they did make it. AndGeorgia should be number one because I ordered
to be the man, you gottabeat the man. So if there's one
team that's a definitive it's always anumber one, and I think that the

(20:52):
playoff team should be loaded around them, regardless of how many players leave and
all of that. I think theyshould just to start. But that's also
why I hate any poll before weekfour. The second reason is this is
used as the measuring stick for whenthe Costball Playoffs comes up. So if
you beat a team in the topten, and by the time the rankings

(21:17):
come out, they're not ranked, you get credit for beating them as a
top ten team, and I don'tlike that. I think that you can
give people credit for beating ranked teamsafter week four's rankings come out and you
see that teams are ranked. No, am I wrong? Am I crazy?

(21:44):
Y'all tell me? But I don'tthink I'm crazy. I don't think
I'm crazy because that is one thingthat I have always professed. So we're
gonna talk about what these polls looklike. And so I went through I
did a video on the Sooner orLater sports show other Pot and we talked
with Brian Clinton over at Heartland CollegeSports and they had their top twenty five

(22:08):
pole. We went through it,we talked about it and what made sense,
and so from there that laid meto make my tears. So here's
the tears, the start off.You can see it. I'm gonna put
them all up here and i'm gonnatalk to you through why I picked them.
So Tier one is my title contenders. These are teams that I feel
like can win a national championship thisyear. And a lot of my factors

(22:30):
that come into play is the quarterbackposition, and they are veteran presence or
we're looking at new quarterbacks, andin some situation a new quarterback based upon
historical value, they definitely get somesort of leniens. I do extend grace
for teams that have top ten recruitingclasses, and I'll explain with some of
them that I have that are evenconsidered playoff contenders to where you'd be like,

(22:52):
why are they up there? AndI'm be like, there's reasons that
a lot of them, it's it'shistorical that they are consistent Stanley up there,
and until they're knocked down. I'mnot gonna go off of tradition.
I like going off of history andwhat we've seen how they perform recruiting classes.
Because your national championships are traditionally teamswith top ten recruiting classes over the

(23:15):
last couple of years. That isof utmost importance. Then I'm gonna look
at quarterback. Quarterback is in thatmix because you can win a nation championship
in college football with a great quarterback. We've seen it done, and that's
usually the most important position anyway. If you've got a quarterback, you can
have one that can carry you throughcollege football because you play enough teams that

(23:37):
don't have enough great players that youcan do that. And then the last
thing that's a factor for me inmy polling, it's just if I like
you or not, and it's thoseshade most of my like and not like.
It's all based upon your historics. Is how historical of a team you
are, how many wins you've gotten, how you've played. I am very

(23:57):
particular about that for that particular reason. So let's dive right into Boomshaka Laca
our preseason top twenty five tiers.First off, Tier one, we have
Georgia, Alabama, LSU, FloridaState, Michigan as well as Ohio State.

(24:19):
Michigan Ohio State battles back and forth. Who's gonna make playoff because anybody
else in the big tam gonna beathim. I like Florida State the LSU
this year because of the last season'splay and the players they brought back.
I then then the best parties theyplayed each other week one, and so
we're really gonna have a measuring stickfor them to understand exactly what teams they
are. And then of course yougotta put BAM in Georgia up there.

(24:40):
Now. It's funny because everybody thinksBama is done, is over Bama.
The dynasty's probably falling apart, andeverybody's thinking George is the dynasty and George
it's not. George's got two nationalchampions in a row. That's awesome.
Very few teams can do that.Saban's been doing this since what oh eight
So until I see Bama lou winonly seven games in the season, there's

(25:04):
zero reason for me to ever thinkthat they're not They're not gonna have a
contender. Heck, if Bama doesn'tlose, doesn't win more than ten games,
if they win nine games, maybeI'll have some concern. But I
think y'all have to understand something aboutBama. And this is why Bama's gonna
be up there next year. Bamais my number one. I'm just gonna
tell you right now, I don'tcare what the season looks like. Bama's

(25:26):
number one next year. They hadnine five stars in the last recruiting cycle,
yet they landed nine of them basedon two four seven. They'll all
be sophomores in saving system, andthey should be terrified. You should all
be terrified at that. They'll havea quarterback situation finally figured out. But
you should be you should be terrified. Oh and even outside of that part

(25:49):
of it, ninety percent of theirrostar blue chips four and five star players
ninety percent. They're higher than Georgiathis year. Georgia was that last year.
I think Georgia was in the ninetieslast year. This year, Alabama
leads the nation. They're ninety percentblue chips. Obama's gonna be really good
next season if they're not good thisyear. Those players are locked in.

(26:10):
They were pissed off about going eightand two. Eight and two is bad
for Obama. Remember that, y'allsay the dynasty's over at ten and two.
So those are the teams I feellike you're continued. That's just six
in Tier one Tier two. Thisis fluid too. Remember this is gonna
change as we go through the season. Tier two, This is when it
gets fun. My playoff contenders. These are teams I think that if they

(26:33):
put the season together right, they'regoing to the playoffs. And he's in
no particular order, Clemson, Texas, Oklahoma, Oregon, and Tennessee.
I know I've got teams in thearea I got questions about, especially after
last year, and some because ofhistoricals. But I'm gonna tell you this,
all these teams have been pulling outtop ten recruiting classes over the last
couple of years, at least topfifteen. Top ten's the most important.

(26:56):
But I think Oregon has a conferencethat is winnable that could lead them in
a schedule that's winnable, that couldlead them to the playoffs. That's what
Oregon's got going for themselves. Tennessee. Tennessee looks really good last year,
and I don't think that they sloweddown with Joe Milton. Joe Milton has
been a three years. That's whythey're up there. Oklahoma very badly year

(27:17):
last year, but they were soclose in every game. All they gotta
do is get across that line andguess what it looks like they should have
gonna cross that line. Vegas hasa nine and a half and I'm betting
that over that under is a trap. They won six games last year.
Why did Vegas give them nine anda half points? That to me is
a trap because Texas, who elseI have on here, was won eight

(27:38):
games last year and they're also nineand a half. That makes sense for
Oklahoma, it should have been sevenor seven and a half. They gave
them nine and a half. Thattells me that Vegas knows something. That
tells me Vegas thinks something and theywant everybody to bet that under Texas.
I have Texas in here because theirtop ten classes have gotten better the last
two years. Sark has actually beenrecruiting a lot of trench players, players

(28:04):
that that move the needle for whatTexas is trying to do. And they're
not just skills guys like the othercoaches like Herman and Strong. That's a
difference maker for Texas and Clemson's Clemson. I'm not gonna be ever bet them
out. They have a quarterback. They had clay A. K. Clupnick
who played last year. Clupnick gotsome game last year and we know what
he can do and now that they'vegot him as the end, They've got

(28:27):
Garrett Riley, little Lincoln's brother, lincolns little brother, who can draw up
some stuff. He's gonna make itso easy for Club Nick. Yeah,
I'm betting. I'm betting on Clemsonto potentially be able to make the playoffs.
They're gonna be a contender. There'ssomeone that has a chance, So
I'm not betting against them on thatTier three New Year six Then this one

(28:49):
is the most important, I telleverybody's because these are the teams I think
can make it to one of thebigger bowl games at large as all of
that stuff, they'll have just enoughwins to make a New Year six game
Cotton Bowl peach whichever one is notthe playoff that year. This year,
I have a feeling that these teamscan do it. And I have Utah,
USC Washington three pack twelve teams, which is crazy, Notre Dame as

(29:14):
well as UNC. I know UNCis the weird one. And it's all
because of Drake May. Drake Mayis really good, really good, and
Notre Dame showed me something in gameone. I think of Game zero and
week zero Game one, they kindof cheated in this one because I wasn't
gonna have them this high. ButI think Sam hard. But even though
I did believe in Sam Hartman goingthere, I was like, No,

(29:36):
they got a veteran presence who's thrownfor four thousand yards, three thousand yards
and seas. He's got a lotof yards, a lot of miles.
He knows how to play this game. He's got a lot of snaps.
He probably can go in there andbe really good. Yeah, I think
that they have a chance. WashingtonMichael Pennick Junior has to be healthy period.
Usc they gotta figure out that defense. They would be playoff contenders if
I believed in their defense. Andthey're stretched, they're stretched next season.

(30:03):
Yeah, they've got a So theyplay what's this four? They have five?
One? They they got one two, three, They got three games,
play Nevada and Stanford. They geta bye week, and then they
got nine straight games, nine straight, No built in bye week in between
there and from there, and soafter they play Arizona, they travel to

(30:25):
Notre Dame. Utah comes to theCrib. The California games a travel,
but it's not really a travel becauseCal's right there. That's a trap.
Because they're gonna overlook them because thenthey have Washington coming into town, and
then they travel to Oregon and theyfinish the season up with UCLA. Ucla
is not ranked right now, whichis fascinating. That's seven straight games of
work work. That defense is gonnabe pushed to the limit. So I

(30:52):
gotta put them new year six untilI can see that they can their defense
can actually do something in that stretch. I don't I'm not believer until you
show me. And I've seen withsome of these teams and what some of
these coaches have done. One thingI tell you I've never seen with Lincoln
Riley and Alex Gritch is them actuallyhaving a defense that stands up through the
test of time of a season.Go look at the history last one.

(31:15):
We've got bowl bound teams. Theseall teams I think can make a bowl
game. And you know this isfascinating, it's the biggest of them all.
But I honestly think that you canget a bowl game out of Wisconsin,
Ole, Miss, Texas Tech,TCU, Texas A, and M
Oregon State. I know Texas andM's right, I'm talking about them.
In a minute. Oregon State twolane can keep the party going, Kansas

(31:37):
State, Miami, right, we'rewhen they're two UCLA, Iowa, Nebraska,
Colorado, and Kentucky. I thinkall of these teams can make a
Bowl game. Yeah, I knowthe Texas A and N one is the
one that I know people are gonnaballk AT and even Miami. Both of
them had some pretty, you know, crappy seasons that they shouldn't have had.
But I'm gonna be honest, Ido think that they could potentially make

(32:00):
a Bowl. It feels like theyare in a situation where a bowl game
is possible. Not saying they willmake it, but it feels possible.
And I'm not gonna even shy awayfrom the fact that I think that they
can do it. I mean,it's gonna take them some work. They've

(32:22):
got to do some stuff right. And I don't know what this Bobby Petrino
and Jimbo Fisher relationship is gonna looklike. But if they can get past
their egos and actually coach up allof these five stars that they have left
were the ones that are left therestill, and all this money they send
on players, they should be fine, just as long as it's not as

(32:43):
super toxic I do believe that there'sa chance that they can do something this
season. We just gotta see ifthat doesn't implode. And then Miami,
I mean granted, Miami is Miami. Historically, they you know, they
figure out some stuff, if youknow, in the early two thousands.
We just haven't seen anything since. And it's just more as other school doesn't

(33:04):
care about football, but now theydo. Everybody looks like they care.
They've got investors, quote unquote, they've got boosters, they care. We've
got to see if they can makethat happen. The Nebraska and Colorado ones,
as well as Wisconsin are the onesthat are really intriguing to me the
most new coaches. You've got LukeFickle at Wisconsin, you've gotten that ruled
up in Nebraska, and Dion sayingthere's coach prime over there at Colorado,
And for me, it feels likethey might be able to turn those teams

(33:29):
around quickly. Colorado, for example, over fifty something transfers in. So
with all those transfers, can theyget the continuity needed in order to make
it a run. And to behonest, looking at their schedule, I
don't think they're schedules that hard Idon't think they're schedules one of those that
will make it to where, oh, it's impossible for them to have a
good year. I actually like whatColorado schedule looks like. I do think

(33:52):
the TCU game is gonna be toughfor them, but that Nebraska game is
gonna be fun. It's gonna betwo new coaches duking it out. And
then of course from there. Imean, they've got two tough games in
Oregon and USC, but I thinkthey can be Arizona State. I mean,
they're dealing with a bunch of problemswith you know, they impose they
self imposed one year band of thebowl game, which I think was stupid,
But I digress. That'd be anotherconversation for another day. Stanford,

(34:15):
Yeah, Stanford exactly. But outsideof that, I mean, I think
they have enough here to win one, two, three, four or five.
I got I got six games,I got a bowl game, I
got bowls, I got a bowlGA, I got six game, I
got six wins in here. Theycould do that. They'll be fine.

(34:36):
Six and six leads into a bowlgame, that's not it matters. They
could particially win seven goes seven andfive. But I think they can go
six and six. I don't thinkthat it'd be that hard for them to
do that, especially having players likeTravis Hunt. They got first off,
they got a quarterback in Shandour Sanders. Don't sleep on how good coach Prinze
kid is. Shandour was a fourstar quarterback in high school. Shandor is
legitimate. He can actually play quarterback, and so if he goes out there

(34:58):
and shows out, there's a chancethat Coach Prime is gonna have themselves something
special. So that's one to keepyour eyes out for, because I do
think that that one is a realisticone. So those are my tears.
You see them. We're gonna leavethem here for right now. Hop in
the comments, let your boy knowwhat's your thoughts, how you feel on
it. If you think I'm crazy, I don't mind if you tell me

(35:20):
I'm crazy. But at the sametime, don't negate what I say and
why I say. I have mylogic behind it, You have your logic
behind yours, And a lot ofthese situations for most of us sports fans
is the eye test, and Idon't always do that. I need to
throwing additional factors, but I dothink that a lot of these teams here
can make it. This is mytop what thirty teams roughly. So this

(35:45):
is how I feel. If youhave made it this far and you like
the content, hit that light buttoninterview to the channel, subscribe. We
would love for you to join us. I plan on doing this every week.
Like I said, every Wednesday, you'll have this. I'll break down
you know, the last week's gameis going into New I do a live
stream for Sooner fans and college fotballfans. Will probably talk more college football

(36:05):
on top of our Sooner stuff everySunday at six pm Central Time. I
may move that up to five oncethe NFL season starts, just to you
know, keep it INFL. Sojust pay attention to the alerts and stuff.
Just hit the bell notification that whereyou're alerted on it. And so
I also, I'm gonna wrap thisbad boy up. But the one more
segment that I forgot I did notair last week was talking about Jim Harball

(36:25):
and his suspension, and I thinkI need to go ahead and add this
to the show and that i'd beour wrap up. So Jim Harball,
he has now self well him inMichigan have decided to self impose a suspension
for the what's that first three gamesof the season, and so let's talk
about that. So for those thatare uninitiated, Jim Harball was suspended recently

(36:51):
by the NCAA for violating for lyingto them. Basically, he lied,
he said they lied to him,and that was why he was suspended for
the first four games of the season. Him as well as Charon Moore,
which is the offensive coordinator slash offensiveline coach, they're both supposed to be
suspended. Well, then all ofit changed that he wasn't suspended at all,

(37:15):
and then things just just changed onMonday as it was announced that Harbaugh
and Michigan has decided to do aself imposed suspension of himself for some weird
reason to say that they are goingto, you know, just do it
themselves. I got it. Michigandid an investigation decide that it makes sense

(37:35):
to suspend him for the for thefirst three games of the season, which
are for East Carolina UNLV and BowlingGreen, who a gauntlet of games that
Michigan should be terrified about. Thatcould possibly they're not gonna lose any of
those games, but the self imposednessof this is fascinating to me because why

(37:58):
does Michigan feel like they need todo it the way this is going In
the conversations with the NCAA, itappears that this is going to drag along.
They are investigating still there. It'slevel one violations, and the violations
that they're being accused of is thisand that is the mission. This is
from the NCAA. Derek Crawford. The Michigan infractions case is related to impermissible

(38:23):
on an off campus recruiting during theCOVID nineteen dead period and impermissible coaching activities,
not a cheeseburger. Now, we'vegot to point out the cheeseburger portion
of this here because when I putout a short about it, and you
can check it out here, itwas funny because the whole thing about Harball

(38:44):
and its suspension was over at cheeseburger. At least that was the rumor he
had bought a recruit of cheeseburger andhe wasn't supposed to during a time that
he wasn't supposed to be really interactingwith them. Sure, a cheeseburger,
I mean, it's not as badas Tennessee giving players money in a McDonald's
bags, my bad Chick fil Atbags, and getting themselves put in trouble.

(39:06):
But it will suppose he at cheeseburger, and now the NCAA is saying
it's not. And so with thisas they continue, it's not uncommon for
the Committee on unfin Fractions to seeclarification on key factors prior to accepting and
so for the most part, theNCAA is still trying to figure out and
negotiate what his suspension will be.They're trying to figure out how they want

(39:28):
to do it, and by theway this looks, it's going to take
them the entire season to figure thisout. Why because the NCAA does everything
as slow as humanly possible, Sonothing that comes from this really truly matters
in the grand scheme of things, because by the time they suspend him,
it will probably be the beginning ofnext season, and at that point there's
a chance he'll be in the NFL, because every single year Jim Harbaugh is

(39:52):
going to the NFL, right exactly, And so with that being the case,
we don't know what this is gonnalook like. We don't know what
the final verdict's gonna be. Butall we do know today is Michigan decided
to do a self imposed suspension, which I guess I could commend them on.
They decided that they're gonna go aheadand get in front of it,

(40:13):
hopefully, you know, get somegood graces with the nca and say,
hey, look we're taking care ofourselves. We're self imposing, we are
following rules. And it's just morefascinating that of all people's hardball that lie
to them. Like he wants tolay it out, he says it can't.
But overall this is basically for himlying to the NCAA about him doing

(40:35):
on an off campus recruiting that wasimpermissible during the dead period. So overall,
this is a big nothing burger. It's not gonna really mean much.
They're gonna suspend on the first, like I said, he would be suspended
probably the first three or four games. They weren't going to go further than
that. And if that's going tobe the case, that was four games

(40:57):
that didn't matter because when you golook at Michigan schedule on me, did
you really think that East Carolina unLV bowling Green and then Rutgers were gonna
be four games? That was gonnareally cause a big problem for them.
No, not at all. Andthe good thing for Michigan is they brought
back a lot of players, broughtback the top running back and Blake as

(41:17):
well as their quarterback d J.McCarthy. So they're set and that Joe
Moore Award winning offensive line is probablygoing to continue to do it because your
Ron Warren knows exactly what the heckhe's doing. So that's being the case.
Let me, we'll see what itmeans. But I'll give it to
hardball. This is the quote thathe's stating, you know you can.

(41:37):
I will continue to do what Ialways tell our players and my kids at
home, don't get better, getbetter. So he's just gonna take this
in stride. He's not gonna bepissed off and fight it. And so
I get it. So the questionnow is what is his implication for these
games? So, as I mentioned, they have four home games to start
the season. East Carolina's coming totown on the second, then they've got

(42:00):
you and LV on the ninth,Bowling Green on the sixteenth, and in
Rutgers shows up on the twenty third, in which the game that Harball comes
back will be the game when theyhead to Nebraska, and so luckily for
them, Hardball can be involved ineverything in the day to day during the
week. He just cannot physically coachthem over the weekend, as if they
actually need him to coach them throughthese four games. No, because luckily

(42:22):
for them going to Nebraska and thengoing to Minnesota, these four games are
tuneups to help them in preparation fortheir run literally for the Big Ten championship
for a third straight year. Andif I was to give them a prediction,
and I'm gonna be doing my unfairsports poll, come here in next

(42:43):
Wednesday, before the first week ofthe actual season starts, because week zero
doesn't count to me. I seemissu get running through running the table again.
I think that the battle with OhioState's gonna be fantastic. The Big
Game's gonna be amazing once again inthere at the Big House this year.
Oh buddy, we're gonna have fun. But overall, what really does Michigan

(43:05):
have to do to be worried about? Like what are the true concerns?
And everybody's talking about it, andlike I said, going through the articles
looking at it, the biggest thingwith it was is they wanted to get
ahead of things and show the NCAAthat they're trying to, you know,
take care of things in a houseand make sure that they know that.
That's they were gonna suspend us.That's fine, but we were gonna do

(43:27):
our thing and make sure that wetake care of things at home. So
I guess y'all out to Michigan onthat one. We'll see what it looks
like long term, if it affectsanything. But again I've stated this over
and over at nauseam in just thissegment in the last five minutes. It
don't mean much. They've got fourfavorable games, so that'll be all right.

(43:50):
That's it. Now, that's theshow. Thank y'all for pulling up.
Please hit that light buntef you tothe channel, subscribe. We would
love to have you join this family. And uh yeah, size that we'll
chop it up. I don't knowin a few days. Peace
