they need to do next. Hereon Unfair Sports, where we take a

(00:28):
give us five stars. You don'tthink we deserve it, just give
us five anyway and gifted. Soon today's episode, I told you y'all,
I'll keep bringing them back to yourown the Tuesdays and Fridays, we're
gonna dive into all the big thingsthat's going on in the NBA, like
the Nuggets falling against the Wolves, and then the Pacers took out the Knicks,
and I think the Knicks has anice future. Why are we not

(00:50):
talking about the Celtics right? It'skind of funny how we kind of think
they're just gonna win it all. Then we'll talk Thunder. I want to
see what the future looks like. And there's one God is very disgruntal,
and I think it's disturbing that ofall people, he's disgruntled. Hit us
up on the unfair fan line fourthree zero nine zero one one nine zero

(01:10):
six and let us know what youthink of the show. Give us your
strongest opinions. We would love tohear from you all, because, yeah,
we're trying to bring this bad boyback. So hit up on an
unfair fan line four three zero ninezero one one to nine oh six.
What's good, my people, what'sgood? What's good? Thank y'all for
pulling up. I told y'all we'regonna try to get back to it,
so just bear with your boy.I'm getting back into the groove of watching

(01:34):
a whole bunch of NBA because thisis the best time to watch it,
right. Playoff basketball is the best. And it's funny because when you think
about a lot of these teams andhow they come out there and ball and
how they come out and play, you recognize something that's very interesting. Right,
everybody's got that one player that justtakes over and goes out there to
win the game. Right. Thesupporting cast still, of course, has

(01:57):
to do their part. No playerwalks out there and scores a hunder points
and win the game because it's Imean, we have never seen it.
Sure there are words that Wilt Chamberlaindid it, but there's for some reason
no film of him actually doing itin said game. But I digress.
Every team has that one star playerthat's superstar that won that jumps out to
everybody. And so yeah, forme, I am definitely in the place

(02:24):
of I need to see a starjump up, take over and win the
game. And so that's gonna leadus into this first one because we gotta
talk about how the Wolves went outthere and Anthony Edwards said that he was
gonna win this one. Now torunning joke here, of course with the
Timberwolves is that you know who theirsquad is, right, You got Karl

(02:46):
Anthony Tals as well as Ruly Gobert, and there's a lot of questions about
whether they're good enough to help win. Right. The big trade that Minnesota
did for really Gobert's him for first, bring him in, put him next
to the cat, and you're like, yeah, this should fortify everything and
everything should be good. Then lastseason they get eliminated for the playoffs,

(03:08):
and so we asked the question, was you know, was that a good
trade, right, There's been athere's been questions ask if that trade that
they made for Karl Anthony for RudyGobert was good to pair him with Karl
Anthony Towns because you know, lastseason they were eliminated in the first round,

(03:31):
well the Western Conference first round, right, it was gone first round,
and you're like, okay, Idon't know, but they made a
big jump, you know, wentfrom forty two wins to fifty six wins,
and then we got the emergence ofprobably one of the most unique and
interesting players in the NBA right now, and our boy, Anthony Edwards.

(03:52):
And so I say that because whenI watch Anthony Edwards play, I'm just
like, yeah, man, he'sa different breed of who he is,
definitely somebody that cares. He startedthe game off and he kind of sucked
in the first half, right,He finished the game six for twenty four,
two for ten from three. Feltlike he really wasn't that good.
He only had sixteen points. McDanielswent out there and had his twenty three

(04:15):
and Kat gave you twenty three. And you know, of course, like
I said, the running joke behindthat is with those two is wondering if
can you do it with him?Right Cat is considered tall man, not
big man. He doesn't like playingin the post because he considered himself the
best three points shooting big man inthe league probably, So I don't know
if that's a title I will wantas a guy as size he as him
as well as a former first rounddraft number one pick. Right Kat seven

(04:38):
foot two fifty and he doesn't likeplaying in the post, but he was
in there in the post in thisgame. Now, granted you know he
was going up, they didn't nobodyhere Denver could really guard him and Rudy
right you had to make a choice, like for Yoga, she had to
choose who was he gonna guard andthey got absolutely no help. And I

(04:58):
think what impress me the most aboutthis game is the Wolves were down like
twenty points, similarly to what Dallaswas against Oklahoma City, and then they
just turned it up and said, now we're not losing this game. Like
I said, Anthony Edwards was notvery good, but he went out there
and hit some of the critical bucketsin the game and said we're not losing
this. And then when Rudy Gobertyhit that little floater where it just hit

(05:21):
all nets. I turned my TVoff and said, yeah, his game's
over. I just started tweeting throughit because there was nothing about this game
that told me the Denver was gonnawin this, because they looked like they
were just gassed. Right, MichaelPorter Junior is giving you seven points,
one for six from three. Yolkiswas two for ten from three, but
he was in there in the paint, thirteenth for twenty eight, had his
nineteen hit, nineteen rebounds, thirtyfour points, nineteen rebounds, seven assists,

(05:44):
and then Jamal Murray gave you thirtyfive. And what I think was
funny was is that Anthony Edwards wassaying he was all up in. You
know Jamal Murray. You know JamalMurray dropped this thirty five. But he
was four for twelve and three. They weren't hitting the shots that then normally
would twenty four percent from three inthe game, eight for thirty. That's
bad, right, that's awful. That was an awful game for them.

(06:05):
But as shout out to Minnesota, they played some good defense. Right,
they didn't shoot good from three. They were twenty nine percent from three.
They weren't good, but down thestretch, they went down there and they
looked like the veteran team. Theylooked like the team that wanted to win
this game more than Denver. Theylooked like the team that was better organized
and honestly better coached. Now,I'm not saying much about Malone alone got

(06:27):
a ring last season, but it'salso interesting that we ain't got no back
to back, you know, finalsappearances from champions and why don't seem like
we gonna probably see that anytime soon? Either. Well, there's a chance,
right this season may be the onewhere you'll see two in a row
because we don't know what Boston's gonnalook like. But there's a good chance
of that. But shout out toMinnesota. They walked in there on the

(06:50):
road, hostile environment against the champsand took it from them. Anthony Edwards,
that man is the truth. HeThe beauty of the NBA today is
that we're now at the point wherewe're starting to see all the new faces
of the league show up. AndI'm gonna keep it a buck. There's
plenty of reasons for us to beexcited, because, man, the NBA

(07:13):
future is brave with Anthony Edwards, which your shake Gills is Alexander's right.
Even with Yokic still being pretty young, you know, he's about to hit
his peak. I mean he's gotI'm gonna give him about a well,
he's a shooter, so it shouldhelp him. But still, at the
same time, he's twenty nine yearsold, so he's probably got two to
three boy years of really really goodnessbefore things start to fall apart, being

(07:34):
that he's six eleven two eighty, right, they could have twenty They denver
allowed themselves to lose a twenty pointlead. They lost, and rightfully so.
So I guess if anything I cansay in this is that Yokich is

(07:55):
looking at it like, Yeah,I really wish I didn't win that MVP.
You should have gave it to Shay. You gave it to Shay,
I probably would have been able tobe mad and played at a more of
a mad level and knocked out theWolves and pushed myself for another title.
Be the first back to back we'veseen since the Wolves did it, I
mean the Warriors did it back inwhat back with Kevin Durant. Yeah,

(08:16):
that's your opportunity there, he missedit. It is what it is.
But I'll say this, YO,still gonna they'll be back. They just
gotta figure out a couple of littlethings need another defender. But hey,
if anything, the Wolves may haveemerged. I cannot wait to watch them
play Dallas. All Right, wegotta talk in here and dive in on

(08:39):
the paces and next game. AndI'm gonna tell you, man, that
game what's electric. It was rockingthere at Madison Square Garden and it's something
that we all miss. Right.Of course, there's the reason why the
mainstream media is talking heavy about theKnicks right now because we ain't seen the
Knicks be very good in a while. And I'm gonna be honest, you
like, when the Knicks are good, it's fun, right Nicks? If

(09:01):
anybody, I would listen to afew people talk about this, and I
notably I mentioned Bomady Jones when Iwas listening to him talk to forgot who
it was on his show a weekago as a guest, but he pointed
out, ain't nobody had more funthan Knicks fans? And I totally see
it. They're like relevant again andthere's a chance that uh, you know,
the Knicks. I'm gonna give usyou know, the Knicks are uh

(09:24):
yeah, man, they are relevantagain and hopefully if they keep this going.
I mean last year they won whatforty seven games, So they went
from thirty seven to forty seven andnow fifty. And if they can stay
just in the fifty range every year, they got it. And it's the

(09:45):
best part about the Knicks, rightbefore we get into the winners. The
best part about the Knicks is they'vegot that guy, that one guy that
you have to have that's gonna goout there and get you buckets and win
games. And Jalen, Now,this is something that I've said, You've
heard a lot of other talking headssay this, and I try to emphasize
this a lot. It's no shadeto him, but it's really hard to

(10:09):
win when you're a star player. Is six to two? I mean,
the last one is that we've hadis who is it? Probably Steph?
He been with six y three ishguard that can actually lead the team to
a chip, but he had alot of help on the defensive side.

(10:31):
And he also is on the greatestshooting team in NBA history. But besides
Steph, and yes Steph, beforehim was Isaiah Thomas. You don't get
very many guards that jump out andlead their team and everything and win games.
Right, you don't get that verymuch. That's that size, you

(10:54):
know, six three and under. You don't get that very often. Right.
Alan Iverson led the seventy six Hitsto the NBA Finals. One won
a game against the Lakers, butnever went back. Right. We also
had six man a year there anddefensive player of the Year, so he
didn't have an awful roster. It'sjust your top player, the one that
needs to get you buckets in thosecritical moments. Can't be six to two.

(11:15):
Indiana didn't have that. Indiana hadHalliburton. Halliburn walked around six to
five. That's about what you need, right. But their team played overall
very well, So I say that, and it's good to have a guy
like Jalen Bruntson. You just gottaadd to it, like Devincenzo was giving
us something. He was giving usa little bit over the over the entire

(11:35):
series, which was fun. Butthey shot awful in this game, like
it was just the Knicks just nothingwas falling for him for the most part.
Me from three to forty two fromthe field, but man, the
just lea needy ina go. Ithink that that big league again. Right.
So it's funny because I was jokingonline that I can't trust Indiana with

(12:05):
a lead. I couldn't nothing abouttheir game and what they do made me
trust them with the lead. Andit showed every game because they would start
off with the lead and then theKnicks would take over and win the game.
But then the last couple of gamespace to shut your boy up,

(12:30):
give mad props for that, right. They won those last two games after
blowing some big leads, and I'mlike, all right, we may have
a chance here, we may havesomething here. But that was the biggest
problem. They kept blowing leads, and so now they decide to they clamped

(12:52):
down, figured it out, sayI'll come showed up for you, right,
NIMR showed up. Nate Smith goteither I mean double ditch from everybody
in the starting lineup right, andthe TJ. McConnell came in out the
bench, gave you a plus twentyone twelve points. You showing out.
Now we got to see what they'regonna do against Boston. If this team
in this setup can make it happen. I don't know how I feel about

(13:16):
Indiana in this series going up againstBoston. But I'll tell you this,
they gave them and the Knicks gaveus a very fun series. Something that
we've been missing in the NBA isa fun seven game series. We got
that out of them. It wasa good battle back and forth, similar
to what we got on the otherside with the Nuggets and the Wolves.
Basically, everything that the NBA couldhave wished for, they got it in

(13:37):
these last two. In those twoseries, Oklahoma City should have went seven.
They would have went seven and playMonday Night. That'll been even more
icing on the cake. But thecake itself was built with these two series
and Haliburton's out here. Man.Look man, I like to you know,
pickt players. He was just kindof in the last two games.

(14:00):
First game he was awful, butthen he came back, you know,
get thirty four to thirty five. Then you know, twenty thirteen, fifteen,
then each twenty sixth ended six totwelve and three. He came out
fifty eight from the field, fiftypercent from three and missed his one free
throw, which is kind of weird. But he gave you something. He
decided to show up. I mean, that's what you need. You gotta

(14:20):
have that one player again. Itold you gotta ad it one player to
go out there and get you abucket when you really need it. And
he was giving some critical buckets.Shout out to them, Shout out to
what Indiana's doing and what they're building. They may have themselves something that can
keep them competitive for the next coupleof years. I think that they do.
I mean, Halliburn's only twenty fouryears old. They've got themselves a
young guy, just like you know, my thunder half Shay. We got

(14:41):
young players, we got everything weneed to go forward. So shout out
to them, and yeah, I'mreally intrigued to see what comes next in
the next series. We'll preview them. I mean Game one is tonight,
so technically we could dive into themat the end of the show, so
we'll do that. So we gottatalk Thunder, so the okahma see Thunder
have some things they have to considernow and after the exit interviews, it's

(15:05):
kind of fascinating with some of theterminology used by one player about how they
felt about their role with the team. And I'm gonna be honest, when
I heard it, I was like, it's got to be like the stupidest
thing I've probably heard in a while. While at the same time, I'm
just like, well, should Ibe that surprised. Let's dive into some

(15:28):
of these exit videos as well asyou know, just what made no sense
coming from it. So Oklahoma City, of course lost to the Dallas Mavericks.
You know that. You know onseventeen one, sixteen, we dropped
video on that on the channel, and I had my big thing was,
and you know, listening to hereon the pod, if you listen to

(15:50):
the audio or the video or whatnot, my biggest thing has been you gotta
have that one dude that takes overthe game and be willing to do it.
Now's my thing with Shape, like, look, this is the year
you need to be selfish. Youneed to go out there and take it.
You all are young, everybody isstill learning, and it's okay for

(16:11):
you to go out there and say, nah, I got this, put
the team on the back and go. He tried, He got us thirty
six. I needed more than forty. Got more than forty. Probably would
have won the game. I'm justsaying it would have probably kept the league
going. But you gotta have adude, willing to do that right.

(16:33):
Well, the struggle we ran intothat is that, Okay, welcoma city
didn't make any trades, and peoplewere very, very critical of that,
and in a way I kind ofget it. But at the same time,
there was reasons Presty wants to seewhat he had. We talked about
this before. Presty wants to seewhat he had for one specific reason.
He needs to determine who he needsto move if he needs to move on
from people, Like you don't findthat out if you just have people sitting

(16:56):
around and you never play them ornever really get give them in the situations
where they need to go for it. Like everybody thought you gotta go all
in. Now, you can't goall in all in every single year because
it doesn't work that way, right, especially when you're going through a quote
unquote rebuild. This team went fromplaying to the number one seed. They
jumped some they jumped some steps. So now what the team needs to do

(17:17):
is figure out who do who needsto be around, and who doesn't.
They've got a lot of picks inthe future, which is awesome, and
I promise you Pressy's gonna use thempicks to not draft people. He's going
to trade them off to get otherstuff, right, He's gonna do what
makes sense for the future, andso trade they made. They brought in
Gordon Hayward, right, brought theold man. He's the most senior person

(17:38):
on the squad in the league thirteenyears and they brought him in to try
to, you know, help, you know, spark some things right.
And it's funny because if you ifyou ever follow you know, the Gordon
Hayward track and lifestyle. We kindof got an idea that you know,
he kind of fits the culture ofOklahoma City, you know, just playing
at Butler's small school, you know, spending time in Utah, then goes

(18:02):
to Boston as the savior gets hurt, goes to Charlotte. I mean,
honestly, if you go look atthe directory of where he's played, places
that fit him personally right, asa personality and as a person so to
see, he said, Okay,we're gonna bring you in. So he
brought him in and he didn't reallycontribute right now. He was upset about

(18:25):
that, and this is what hesaid in the exit interview. Let's listen
to Commissioner Gordon and what he hadto say about his usage. Some of
your career, you have been givena smaller role on a team. Can
you describe the ups and downs ofthat for you? Yeah, I mean
obviously disappointing with kind of how itall worked out. So what I thought

(18:48):
it would be certainly frustrating, butkind of it is what it is.
You know, they have they havea great team here with great young players,
a great coach. So futures right, what did you think it would
be or what do you think itcould be? I feel like I,
uh, as a player, Ihave a lot to offer, and uh,

(19:11):
I just wasn't really given much ofan opportunity to do that. And
I kind of thought I was goingto get that opportunity. But you know,
like I said, I get andwe were we were rolling before I
got here. I've said that before. And it's hard to bring somebody in,
you know, over the season.I think especially a player you know

(19:33):
like me who's been has had youknow, responsibility and and lots of it
and been through a lot. Souh, is that in terms of like
kinds of touches that you're getting rightamount of minutes? Like what does that
what what would what does that looklike for you, Like what would like
the ideal like role look like foryou? Yeah, I mean, I
I mean I think, Uh,the minutes were certainly down and sporadic,

(19:56):
and you know, obviously to awhere it was non existing. Uh.
Now then just when I was outthere is eliminated touches. I would say,
so, all right, I heardthat. I look at Turd,

(20:18):
right, I understand he's frustrated, don't feel like he was used right or
used enough and all of that. But I'm gonna say this, there's film,
and I love that. This videohas been going around this this audio
has been going around from Twitter.I'm not sure who's from, but it's
been going around. Pointed out thereis film. We've seen you on the
court, We've seen what you didor tried to do. One hundred percent.

(20:38):
Here's the biggest problem I ran intowith Gordon. With Commissioner Gordon,
he played in the second game againstthe Pelicans. He gave us ten minutes,
shot the ball one time, right, that was the blowout Game one.

(21:00):
They played him in games one, two, and three. He got
seven minutes in Game one, fourminutes in Game two, three minutes in
Game three. The entire series heshot the ball three times. So let's
look at this. He played sixgames, averaged about six minutes per game.

(21:25):
He took three total shots. Soto me, and this is what
everybody points out, the opportunities werethere. He just never, you know,
put in an air. I onehundred percent agree he didn't. He

(21:48):
didn't, which is embarrassing in itself. The opportunity was placed in front of
him. He did not take advantageof that opportunity. So to me,
it's like, Okay, what amI supposed to Well, what are we
supposed to do? Right? Wasolkome we're supposed to do? Leave you
in there for thirty minutes a gameand you not shoot? Like when you
were in there and we needed aspark on the offensive side of the ball,

(22:11):
you weren't giving it. Now,granted, in you know against you
know, the Pelicans, you hada plus twelve and a plus ten.
The teams were going on some runs, but you still wasn't shooting. He's
getting rebounds a little bit. Butwe saw all those two losses that you
weren't even trying to go out thereand put up shots or make I mean,
it's a lot of passing it tosomebody else, and that's kind of

(22:32):
what bothered me about Olkahoma City throughoutmost of the series. It was a
lot of just hot potato. Sometimessomebody's gotta grab a ball and just go
And that's kind of what I thinkMark Deckno wanted out of Hayward. He
wanted him to go out there andjust do it, Nike, but he
didn't, So he gave that one. And then of course you can see
the other side of the spectrum. You see the maturity that the Thunder was

(22:55):
showing with our guy like Josh Gidding. This is what Josh Giddy said.
I'm gonna get the quote out firstand then I'm gonna go ahead and tell
y'all. Let y'all hear him talka little bit about it. But he
said this, and this is RylandStyles over there from Locked On Thunder.
Shout out to him for getting thisquote from him. But this is what

(23:18):
he basically said. Cut when hegot benched, because they benched Giddy for
the base of the last series. So here you go, Coach Jward was
best for the team, And tobe honest, I probably agree with them.
That's a sign of maturity. Hesays. He agrees with him I
kind of agree with him. Probablyshould have benched because I wasn't playing very
well. And this is what madeit even better for me, is that

(23:38):
Giddy even went in and talked abouthis excitement for his teammates getting to play
and how well they did and allof that. Let's remember Giddy's twenty one
years old, and I understand everybodywants to just rip the dude and jump
them, you know, you know, jump all over them for it.
He is twenty one years old.He is a young dude. He's still

(23:59):
trying to fit out. He's justtrying to figure out life. Right,
he went through the whole little incidentor whatnot that a person that looks like
him, who is literally looks likehe's still like nineteen, you know,
he went through. But he's young. He's a young dude. He's still
trying to figure it out. There'snothing that he can do. He's young,
He's still trying to figure it out. And so I appreciate the fact

(24:23):
that he did that. And soa lot of people think that, Okay,
Okolmski needs to go ahead and moveon from him. I don't disagree
there. I think they'll probably bein the best interest for the team to
go ahead and move forward with anotherplayer, but he, as a player
himself, can't contribute. He's justgot to get out of his own head

(24:48):
and do better. It's like hissophomore slump came his junior year, right.
His third year in the league iswhen the slump really kicked in on
him. Right, last season,he was pretty solid, he gave you,
but he's also shot a hell ofa lot more. Right. He
was shooting eleven times last season, where now he's only shooting seven. And
I think that you know, whenyou look at that, this team is
literally Jada, Shay and Chet andthen Giddy's your fourth fiddle. That happens.

(25:15):
The four fiddle typically just kind ofis there. I think if Giddy
was a lot stronger on the defensiveside of the ball, there will be
less to say about him. AndI think that that's where he's gonna have
to play, right, He's gonnahave to play a stronger on the defensive
side. He's got to hit histhrees. Now, he doesn't need to
be a three a D guy.He could be a three three ball ball

(25:36):
handler, a three in ball handlingtype guy. And I think that that
would be very successful for Oklahoma Citygoing forward. But you gotta also remember
when you get into his half courtoffenses and things get like stressed, especially
when you get into the playoffs whenthe game slows down a lot. That's

(25:59):
where Oklahoma City has to get better. Now, they were really good in
the half court for the most part. You started to see some complacency in
that last game. And I thinkif you have a point guard that will
continue to keep not only the ballin a way moving, but get dudes
to their spots so they can getthe shots they want. That's what's most
important. Gotta cut the hot potato, and in some situations, Giddy has

(26:25):
to go out there and get thetop of the key, orchestraate, move
people around, get the bob on. But I like the Maturity Show because
that Gordon Hayward quote pissed me off, Like, come on, man,
they brought you here to be themature dude. The dude just been deep
into playoffs. The dude to kindof point out, hey, Shay,
go out there and get them buckets. Dog. You know what, forget
it, give me the rock.I'm gonna go out there and get a
bucket. JW. You're not gettingus enough buckets. I will go get

(26:45):
the bucket if I need to.That's what they needed out of him they
didn't get. That doesn't seem likethey got much of the leadership thing that
they thought they was gonna get either. Kind of bothered me there, right,
So that quote got into me kindof even threw off what I was
gonna even talk about. But I'llsay this, the youth at Oklahoma City
and the way they love playing witheach other and they love each other.

(27:07):
They're giving us all the best lipservice possible. I am ready to see
what they look like in three years. That's to me, when I can
really judge everything they said today isthen contract extinctions are gonna come up,
which ain't gonna be no concerns there. Well, I'm not concerned about the
contracts because y'all have been seeing allof the stuff around TNT in NBC.

(27:33):
The NBA is gonna get a biginflux, and to me, that's gonna
be a good thing for this thunderroster. Let's dive into that real quick.
Y'all wanna talk money, Let's talkmoney. I love talking to money.
I love talking about like the NBATV deals and stuff like that NFL

(27:53):
contracts. See y'all know the NFLsigned their ten year, one hundred and
like ten billion dollar. They're basicallydeal with all these networks and everything,
and so the expectation is the NFLfinancially will continue to be super viable and
that TV contract is going to goup even more in about about eight years
whenever they decide to renegotiate. Right, So, the NBA had THEIRS at

(28:15):
about like nine years to twenty twentyfour billion or something of that nature around
that of the last TV deal.So after twenty four to twenty five season,
the NBA's TV contract will be upand they'll they're right now negotiating new
sutures. And so we've all seenthat there's been conversations around there's a good

(28:36):
chance that we're going to lose insidethe NBA, which is a TNT product,
because it looks like NBC is goingto take over the spot that TNT
was holding. So ESPN Disney hasTHEIRS, and then Amazon has jumped in

(29:04):
to be a new partner for theNBA. Right, So, Amazon as
well as Apple has been busting theirtails to get in here and be part
of all of these The sports world. Right, They're wanted to getting into

(29:26):
the commodity products, the ones thatare definitely guaranteed to be great, the
ones that are guaranteed to go up, because truth be told, we love
live sports more than anything else.So right now, it looks like the
NBA the Athletic is reporting this thatthey prefer to have three companies involved,

(29:48):
and they're looking at potentially have afourth. Right they want to have they
want to have a I guess thestructure they want to go with is they
want to find a way to getall of these games out there on as

(30:08):
many platforms and stuff as possible.Right. So, for example, so
the NBA has finished up their deal. The nine year deal was about two
point six billion on average from bothESPN and Tennis NTNT nine years, right,
so they're looking to add They addAmazon. That's gonna add of course,

(30:29):
you know the prime stuff, becausethe Amazon's spending buku money to get
into television, get into sports. But NBC's right now pushing for the NBA
to jump in there and take TNTspot. Now, this is what's crazy
about it. If the NBA getswhat they want, this is what is
being I think Bloomberg put this outof what they estimate the actual money is

(30:49):
gonna look like. If the NBAgets this done, dog, there's a
chance the NBA is gonna bring gamelike a ten year, seventy six billion
dollar contract. Now, if youknow me and you paid attention to me
for years, I've talked about this, like four years ago when everything started,
right, I pointed out that there'sa very good chance that the NBA

(31:17):
will get the seventy five billion thatthey want, and i'd I've had a
few folks tell me the mass crazy, there's no chance the NBA gets that.
Now it looks like that's gonna happen. So that means that the NBA
is going to triple their revenue onthis new TV deal, triple it because
so many people want to get intosports and they've gone against companies that got
the money to do it. Sothere's absolutely no reason not to take advantage

(31:41):
of it. And so for themto be honest, I try to find
a way to keep TNT at NBC, And if you want me to be
honest, that's a good way toeven parlay in the w and getting themselves
like triple what they were making, which will also make the girls a lot
more money in TV and get peoplewatching. But the big thing is is

(32:01):
that it's it's one of those commoditiesthat if the price is always gonna go
up because everybody wants to watch livesports. We all love live sports.
Everybody loves live sports. It's ahuge deal. And so to me if
the NBA, which I think itwould be a disservice to lose T and

(32:23):
T just because I've not only beensuch a great partner for years, but
what inside the NBA means to theculture today. With Shack, Barkley,
Ernie as well as Kenny, they'veput together a product that keeps people up
at night and watching TV. LikeI've heard a few people talk about this,

(32:45):
but if you think about it,who else, who else is making
something that makes you I don't stayup after games anymore, just twofold one.
I'm trying to get myself in bettershape. And the most important thing
about exercise is you gotta sleep, you gotta get rest. And so to
help me with rest, I goto bed, but I'll go back and

(33:07):
watch early in the morning. WhenI get up, I'll go watch the
replay, I record it. I'llgo back and watch the replay because it's
super interesting listening to them jab andjoke and clown. I'll go on social
media and watch the clips. Theybe killing it. They kill it and
there's a good chance we're gonna lose. That sucks. So the NBA,

(33:29):
if anything, needs to figure outa way to get them back, or
at least find a way to bringthem together. Like I don't know what

(33:49):
the framework would look like, likehow the games will be divvied out,
But I say this with the wholesituation hap with ballet sports and how that
has become hell for so many sportsfans because not only is their product awful
as far as the stream goes.I like the people, like the announcers,
but their product and streaming is terrible. It always crashes, it's always
issues. How many people complain aboutit's hard to get access and they don't

(34:09):
want to negotiate deals with like allof the streaming services. Finding a way
to bring them all together. Heyman, there's a there's a great opportunity
here that they need to take advantageof. So to me, the NBA
needs to figure that out, figureout that relationship and make it happen.
But I mean I'm just gonna saythis. We don't know we know what

(34:30):
it's gonna happen. But all Iknow is this though seventy something billion.
And I told y'all so when I'vetalked about my thundas and their contracts and
stuff. Once all their actual extensionsneed to kick in that new TV money
kicks in. Y'all. Remember wheny'all had like the Crabs of the world
and all these more heartless player allthese players out here getting like twenty million

(34:51):
a year, you know, Austin, all of them getting breaded up.
We're back at that, baby,I gonna say, a whole bunch of
players. They're gonna be like, man, why is he making thirty million
a year? Because the NBA,and they're collective bargaining, they have to
pay these people. Maybe they'll extendthe benches. We'll see if that works.

(35:12):
Maybe start paying more down in theg which would be a smart idea,
get get get development really going andget people to want to stick around
there a little bit. But andyou know, make a career just playing
basketball, right, that'd be fun. But the bigger thing is NBA has
a good chance of trying to redothis product to make it to where not

(35:35):
only is more accessible, but getpeople more excited and it maybe do something
with the w like I really wouldprefer the WB unbundled because I think they
can get a larger deal than theNBA. But the NBA is tripling their
revenue and they can find a wayto throw them in and add additional few
billion. If anything. The womenneed to be making at minimum a millionyear.

(35:55):
They should be able to do thatin their TV deal because I think
they have enough demand for the gameto pay them that they do. The
girls do very well on television andit's been growing every year, and now
with the Kaitlyn Clark experiment, she'sbecome she's the Steph Curry because of the
fact that she shoots the ball similarto the way the guys do, even
though Sabrina an Osko does. Iswhat I digress. We're we've got the

(36:20):
exciting people hitting the league that youwant to watch. We got to find
a way to not only expand theleause you can keep more stars around,
but at the same time go aheadand pay them women. Unbundle it,
pay them get their TV deal bigger. So some'm conscious to be fatter.
That's it. That's all I gottasay. Tells y'all was gonna give y'all

(36:43):
some consistency back. Appreciate y'all pullingup talking ball. We're gonna talk NBA
playoffs the rest of the way.Nothing else really is going down, probably
some college stuff. You know. There's a bunch of rankings and lists coming
out. We'll probably dive into afew of those. But thank you out
for pulling up as usual. Pleaserate us, review us, give us
five stars. I think we deserveit. Just give a spot anyway,
and gifted. This may go upon YouTube, it may not, but

(37:05):
it will be on the podcast side. We'll have that out and yeah,
if the editing goes right, Imay put it up on video. We'll
talk soon. Pay
