Paul Anthony (aka Paranormal Paul) has been podcasting for years, covering different topics from sports to general interest. But nothing seemed to stick, until he launched PARANORMAL AMONG US in March of 2023. Since beginning his journey into the paranormal, he has experienced a wide range of anomalous phenomena: From being scratched by invisible entities and catching EVPs, to witnessing strange lights in the sky and hearing disembodied voices.

Catch Paul on YouTube on Saturdays at 7pm CST and Tuesdays at 630pm CST, here:
https://www.youtube.com/@paulsparanormal-lk9bt

Visit Paul's official website, here: https://paranormalamongus.com/

Paul visits with Talking Weird to share some of his anomalous encounters since beginning his paranormal journey. Including the powerful experience he underwent when experimenting with a "God helmet"; a device originally invented by neuropsychological researcher Stanley Koren and neuroscientist Michael Persinger to test the effects of electromagnetic stimulation of the temporal lobes. Now it is used by some paranormal researchers to elicit paranormal experiences.

They also talk about the upcoming Crossing Reams conference, that takes place September 19-20, in Richmond Missouri. Both Paul and Dean will be there, and Dean will be screening his multiple award-winning short documentary THE SHAVER MYSTERY, as well as speaking about some of the later aspects of the "mystery" not covered in the film.

This is a fascinating, and at times creepy show!

It feels like falls.

Speaker 2 (01:39):
Actually here today the temperature dropped considerably. I think it's
getting down to like forty degrees tonight, or maybe a
bit less, which is the first I think we've had
that lowest temperature since probably early on in the spring.
So we're actually feeling the beginning of the change here now,
which is a wonderful spooky seasons upon us. My pumpkins
are ripening on the vibe, and I'm looking forward to

(02:01):
carving those jack at lanterns. But I'm not going to
babble too more much about me because we'll get into
some real spooky stuff in a moment with tonight's guest,
So I'm super excited as joining me. He's been podcasting
for years, covering different topics from sports to general interest,
but nothing seemed to stick until he launched Paranormal among
Us in March of twenty twenty three. Since beginning his

Speaker 4 (02:42):
Greetings, Greetings, guys, how's everybody doing. Thanks for having me

Speaker 3 (02:49):
It's so great.

Speaker 2 (02:49):
And as people are already have been saying in the chat,
and I was going to do the same thing, people
are wishing you happy birthday, Thanks for spending your birthday
night with them.

Speaker 3 (02:59):
No problem.

Speaker 4 (03:00):
I mean nine o'clock at night, everybody's getting ready for
bed here, so you know, hey, I'm good, I'm good.

Speaker 2 (03:07):
I'm honored that you would spend it with me because
I've been meaning to chat with you for a while,
so it was great to have you on before we
launch into your series and incredible experiences you've had since
you've got into this space. I thought maybe we could
talk about an upcoming conference which we're both which we're
both going to be at, and that is the Crossing

(03:28):
Realms Conference, So did you want to plug that a
little bit?

Speaker 3 (03:31):
And i'll the trailer for us.

Speaker 4 (03:34):
The inaugural Crossing Realms Conference is going to be September
nineteenth and the twentieth Richmond, Missouri.

Speaker 3 (03:42):
That there's going to be a ghost hunt that night.

Speaker 4 (03:45):
Unfortunately, the ghost hun's all sold out at the Ray
County Museums. That's the place I got scratched, actually, But
it's going to be a fantastic weekend. Friday night is
going to be like a meet and greet. Saturday is
going to be the conference and ghost hunt and everything,
and you know, I'm.

Speaker 3 (04:04):
Just so thrilled to do this.

Speaker 4 (04:07):
I can't you know, I don't know if I'm more
excited to hear the speakers to meet some of the
speakers in person. I've met a lot of them, you know,
over here, and or see the people from our chats
meet them in person too. I mean, it's just it's
going to be such a fun weekend. I I just

(04:28):
can't wait for it. I'm super excited about it as well.

Speaker 2 (04:32):
I always say that when you have an interest in
something which might be a little bit, you know, out
of the ordinary, whether it's the paranormal or perhaps it's
independent film, both spaces I'm in. When you go to
a conference sort of a festive with like minded people,
you can make friendships for life, like even if you
don't know anybody going into it. Most of my friends

(04:54):
today are because of the film festival World, and there's
ones more recently. Because of going to power normal conventions
it have become literally lifelong friends because in our day
to day lives, we we're not often you know, having conversations.
I mean, you might for fun, like what do you
think of bigfoot or something? Right, but you're not actually
talking to somebody who's reading books and you know, following

(05:15):
the news stories about it and really deeply into.

Speaker 3 (05:17):
It and interested.

Speaker 2 (05:19):
So it's such a wonderful experience to go to an
event like this. I'm looking so forward to meeting people there.

Speaker 4 (05:27):
And you know, I completely agree with that comment that
you know, it's I too, have met so many wonderful people.
And I was just watching Blinds and Booze earlier and
Christy even made the comment that some of her best
friends she's made through this platform, and you know, I,

(05:47):
you know, I'm I'm right behind her. I mean, I
completely agree. There's so many really cool people that I've
met and become friends with, and I've met already and
you know, I will meet again, and I'm looking forward
to continuing that friendship, you know, for many years to come.

Speaker 3 (06:04):
Great.

Speaker 4 (06:04):
There have been some stinkers along the way, but you know, uh,
you know, that's just some people are like that, but
you know, yeah, I mean it's it's but you know,
for the most part, everybody has just been so great
and accommodating and you know, just you know, wonderful to
wonderful to talk with. And I'm looking forward to meeting

(06:24):
you in person, and you know, everybody else. It's just
going to be so much fun. And I'm looking forward to,
like like you said, years of friendship to come from
from this stuff.

Speaker 2 (06:36):
And I'm looking so forward to meeting you in person
as well.

Speaker 3 (06:39):
Paul.

Speaker 2 (06:40):
For those of you who don't know, and all of
the regular listeners and viewers of the show, will I'm
I'm going to be presenting there. I'm going to be
a talk on the Shave of Mystery, but I'm going
to be talking about the latest stages of the Shave
of Mystery. And for those of you who don't know
what it is, it's basically a store a series of
stories which became prominent in mid nineteen forties science fiction

(07:06):
and pulp magazine caught amazing stories. They were so popular
they drove the magazine to record circulation numbers. But unlike
the other stories in the magazine. They were meant to
be true. They were meant to be about somebody. Richard Shaver,
the author of these stories, his engagement and involvement and
harassment often by these underground I guess, for lack of
a better term, alien beings. And I'm also screening my

(07:27):
short documentary First, which has done the first circuit now
for almost a little bit over a year actually, and
it's won multiple awards, and I think I'm not saying
that's got I'm a wonderful filmmaker. Why I do think
has won so many awards is it's such a weird story,
the shave of mystery everybody's forgotten. But it's the precursor
to modern euthology. You literally wouldn't have many of the
tropes of modern euphology without it. It set up a

(07:49):
lot of those things that was really prescient. And it's
also just a super weird, bizarre story. So please, if
you're anywhere within the cooey distance of Missouri Kansas City,
what's it in Richmond, Missouri, isn't it?

Speaker 3 (08:01):
Which is outslutely it's in Richmond.

Speaker 4 (08:02):
It's right outside of the city, so it's pretty close
to Kansas City.

Speaker 2 (08:06):
Or even come in for the weekend. I mean, I
know people who coming in for the weekend, who watch
this show, who've already contacted me, and it's fantastic coming
and watch my film, listen to all the other wonderful speakers.
Hang out is going to be a blast of a weekend.
And I'll play the teaser trailer and then after that,
I think we're going to jump into some of your
incredible experiences, Paul. And this teas and trailer was made
by Doug Hychek, who is the head of this network.

(08:29):
You probably many of you probably watched this the flagship
show Untold Radio here on Wednesday nights, and Untold Radio
is I think one of the main sponsors of the festival.

Speaker 3 (08:39):
So here's here's the trailer.

Speaker 5 (08:41):
Crossing Realms Conference is coming this September nineteenth and twentieth
to the Eagleston Civic Center in Richmond, Missouri. Tickets to
this landmark event are on sale right now at event break.
The powerful speaker lineup will cover topics from Bigfoot, UFOs
and aliens, so you will not want to miss attending
this amazing to day a non dura ben again, that's

(09:01):

Speaker 3 (09:13):
That's awesome. I can't wait.

Speaker 4 (09:18):
You know, it's it seemed like just yesterday we were
coming up with the idea and trying to figure out
a name for the conference that was back in November
December last year. And I remember a meeting that we
all had and by we, I mean the Island of Misfits, Techs,
BMR and Blinds and Booze me several other ones, just

(09:41):
trying to come up with the name. And when Christa
was given us all the speakers that she kept coming
up with and kept booking and stuff, and it was
it just got so big and all of.

Speaker 3 (09:54):
A sudden, it's what.

Speaker 4 (09:57):
A little more than two weeks away, and you know,
like we said, you know, I can't say it enough.

Speaker 3 (10:02):
I'm just excited to do it. I can't wait.

Speaker 4 (10:04):
We're going down there Thursday, having like a so every
every conference has a post conference party, we're having a
pre conference party because it ends on a Sunday.

Speaker 3 (10:15):
I guess. So it's it's gonna be fun. I can't wait.
I just can't wait.

Speaker 2 (10:20):
Yeah, I'm I'm super pumped about it. I'm so excited
to be to be a part of it. I know
you you've helped put the conference together. Are you presenting
there at all? Are you speaking it there at all?

Speaker 3 (10:31):
No?

Speaker 4 (10:32):
No, I'm just I'm going to be the guy running
around like it's like a chicken with his head cut off,
trying to get everything taken care of and stuff. So
we're just talking about who gets uh, we're coming up
with a schedule and who gets bathroom duty at what time?
So like, Okay, I'm going to be doing that. But
you know, it's you know, you know what, I I

(10:53):
really don't care. It's it's gonna be fun to be there.
I'll do bathroom duty, I'll do trash duty.

Speaker 3 (10:58):
I don't care.

Speaker 4 (10:59):
I'm just meeting all kinds of cool people and hearing
all kinds of great presentations and everything, and it, you know,
whatever it is, it's it's gonna be fun.

Speaker 3 (11:09):
It's gonna be fun.

Speaker 2 (11:10):
It's showed business is the Paranormal con, which is amazing.
Speaking of the Paranormal cond maybe maybe let's let's jump
in there now, because I know you haven't been in
the paranormal space forever, so maybe can you talk about
your transition into the space and then the experiences you
had or started to have.

Speaker 3 (11:33):
Growing up, I was more of.

Speaker 4 (11:36):
Believing in aliens and you know, the Patterson Gimblin film
and everything. I just wasn't that big into Bigfoot, and
you know, I believed in ghosts and everything, but I
think aliens were more of my speed there. I always
believe that, you know, the universe was so big, how
can we be the only life form around? And now

(12:00):
I'm almost one hundred percent certain that we're not. But
you know, I've been doing podcasts for a long time,
sports and stuff and things that I thought would stick
just didn't. And you know, I had a new replacement
surgery back in January twenty three, and you know, I

(12:21):
was thinking about doing a paranormal podcast and I was.
Somehow I got to meet a guy named t Krulos
who's an author up in Milwaukee, and he did a
book on the Mothman and I was reading it and
I never do this. I saw in the back of
the book that, you know, his email address was there
how to contact him or something. And I contacted him,

(12:44):
and we started talking back and forth and I told him,
you know, I'm thinking about doing a show on paranormal
and he said.

Speaker 3 (12:53):
Why are you thinking about it? Just do it?

Speaker 4 (12:55):
And that that pretty much stuck with me, and like, okay,
I'll do it. And you know, I had the microphone,
I had the computers all set up and everything, so
what the hell, I'll just go ahead and do it.
And it started out kind of slow, you know, meeting
some people and talking some ghosts and stuff, and then
I got more involved, and then I met the Blondes

(13:18):
and Booze and they got me hooked up with the
rest of the gang over there, and it's just snowballed
and so many different topics. I've learned so much more
about Bigfoot than I ever thought I would, and so
much more about dog Man and all kinds of other
cryptids that I ever I mean Frogman really, but I

(13:41):
mean yeah, I mean it's it's been really cool. And
I went on my first investigation at Ashmore Estates over
in Illinois, which which is about two hours away, and
actually one of the guys in the chat who lives
near me in Saint Louis here out to me and
say Hey, you want to ride to Ashmore And like, okay, cool.

(14:03):
So I got my first I don't want to say fan,
but the first person from the chat that I ever met.
So we went out to Ashmore and I actually did
a presentation there and we did the investigation and stuff, which,
like I said, was my first investigation.

Speaker 3 (14:19):
And we were.

Speaker 4 (14:21):
In there's a boiler room down there and it's supposedly
haunted by a guy. I think his name is George
or something like that. He pretty much just stays in
the boiler room and he doesn't like women. So it
was me and this other gal who were both on
our first investigation. That night, we went down in the

(14:43):
boiler room and I had one of those dead bells,
which is the bell that you have at the hotel
lobby or whatever, ring for service, our doctor's office, whatever.
I had one of those, and that kept going off,
and you know, we'd be asking questions and everything, and
it's down a few steps.

Speaker 3 (14:59):
She didn't go to there. She stayed up at the
top of the steps.

Speaker 4 (15:02):
And I went down there, and I was kind of
surprising myself because I was pretty deep into the boiler
room and I'm like, wow, I'm really I'm really doing this,
I'm really getting into it, and I really I wasn't
afraid at all. So I'm asking all these questions and
stuff and the dead bells going off, and as I'm

(15:24):
walking out earlier that night, somebody said, somebody told me
that if if you feel like you're walking through a
spider rab you're not, You're you're walking through a spirit.
And I felt that right as I was going back
up the steps to get out of the room. And
I didn't hear anything that night with my ears there.

(15:47):
When I went back and I played the footage, and
you know this, everybody said how important it is to
not speed through your your your video that you take
that night, just you take a time with it, you know,
watch and listen to everything, mostly listen to everything. And
that rang so much, so true. As I'm walking out

(16:11):
of this place on video, I heard somebody say and
I didn't ask that. I didn't ask any questions about anything, really,
just are you here?

Speaker 3 (16:20):
What your name? Stuff like that.

Speaker 4 (16:23):
And as I'm watching this back on my computer that week,
I hear a very faint voice where that freaked me out.
I'm like, wow, my first investigation.

Speaker 3 (16:36):
I hear that I heard growling. You know.

Speaker 4 (16:40):
It was just an amazing, amazing experience at Ashmore. I mean,
we did a few other things. We did the esd
This method there, and I actually my name came through
the uh somebody was doing the es this method, and
paranormal pal came.

Speaker 2 (16:58):
Just quickly because I know what the Yesters method is.
But maybe because I know there's a lot of cryptid
people are interested in cryptozoology on this channel and other
folks who mightn't be as immersed in the paranormal, well
maybe you could tell people the what that is and
then continue your story just so they know what the
Esteras method is.

Speaker 3 (17:15):
So the Estesce method is I don't have with me.

Speaker 4 (17:20):
You have a spirit box and you plug headphones into
the spirit box so you alone can hear it. And
you usually have noise cancelation headphones on, and you're usually
blindfolded or close your eyes, but it's probably better to
be blindfolded so you can't hear or see what's going
on in the room. And all you hear is the
static that's going on through the spirit box, and people

(17:45):
are asking questions and stuff. And at this point I
got on there. I really didn't hear too much. But
when I was not doing the Essence method, I was
asking the questions. Somehow my name came out and the
gal that we when when you're under the Estes method,
you're supposed to say everything that you hear, and a

(18:08):
lot of it you're it's scanning them frequencies, uh, for information.
So you're going to be picking up a little bit
of radio station crossover, I guess, so you can tell
if it's you know, you can hear a DJ or
a commercial going on, a couple of words from a commercial,

(18:28):
you can tell, that's pretty obvious, But then you hear
some Garby Gook voice talking to you through it. So anyway,
I was asking questions and we were doing a live
on Somebody show and I was filming it on my
phone and I can't remember the question that was asked,
but the gal that was under the ess method said
paranormal Paul. And then I'm really hoping it was the

(18:54):
spirit that was saying this. She said paranormal Paul, and
then a few seconds hitter, you're so boring, like, okay, great,
thanks appreciate that. My first one, I'm so boring, but
you know, you know that was that was pretty cool.
It was kind of funny, but you know, we did
that a couple of times, and you know, it was cool.

(19:17):
I had a I think I was doing my show
from there as well, and we had a rock. We
were inside the building in like a little conference center,
and once all the speakers were finished, everybody was walking
the building and Christa and I were sitting there doing
the show and a rock hit the wall, like a

(19:37):
little pebble hit the wall, hit the wall, so that
that was kind of cool.

Speaker 3 (19:41):
And there was nobody else around.

Speaker 4 (19:42):
Us, and it was just just me and her there
and we didn't do.

Speaker 3 (19:45):
It, so that was cool. And then.

Speaker 4 (19:53):
So nothing really much else happened there. We slept there
that night, which I was kind of leary on at first,
being my first investigation to know how Pam I'm boring.
I know, I wasn't sure how it would be sleeping
in a hunted location and stuff. But they have like

(20:14):
bunk rooms and stuff, and that was fine.

Speaker 3 (20:18):
So then.

Speaker 4 (20:20):
I don't I don't know if anybody's familiar with the
God's Helmet. Some of the some of the people in
chat I know Mickey and Pam, I know they've probably
heard the story God's Helmet is it is a contraption,
and and Terry Moseby has one. I saw her in
chat earlier. She has the one I was using, and

(20:42):
it's it looks like a transformer's helmet and there's lights
all around the inside of it. And what it is
is it's it's shooting electrodes into your brain and to
kind of help you relax and kind of get in
more of a meditative state. So this was at a
place it's called Arcadia, which is about two hours away

(21:04):
in southern Missouri, I believe, and we were doing it
was used to be an old Civil War hospital, I think,
and Terry was doing the God's Helmet. I was filming.
We were on BMR show and I was filming it,
and she was sitting on the couch. I was facing her,

(21:27):
she was facing me, and off to the right there
was like a there was a washer and dryer room
there now, but apparently there was something else there before.
And she kept seeing while she was under the helmet.
She kept seeing a guy over there in period of clothing,
just kind of watching us, kind of eighteen hundreds, you know,
looking at us, like, you know, what are these people doing?

(21:50):
What's that in their hands. What are they wearing? What's weirdos?
And then she kept seeing, you know, spirits behind me,
kind of watching my screen that I had. And it
was a hospital that we were in, so a lot.
There was a lot of nurses running back and forth
into a different room, I guess the operating room or whatever,

(22:13):
taking care of patients. That's what Terry All saw. And then,
you know, God's Helmet sessions usually last like fifteen minutes.
You don't want to go too long because of all
the craziness that's going on in the flashing lights that
are in your eyes practically. So Brian Bowden was happened

(22:34):
to be in Chat that night and we finished the
Terry's God's Helmet session and jokingly BMR said, Paul, why
don't you get get under the helmet and see what
you see?

Speaker 3 (22:49):
And I kind of wanted to.

Speaker 4 (22:50):
Do that before, but I hadn't really seen too much.
You know, I've seen a few things out of the
corner of my eye and that voice that I had
at AMAS, so I was kind of leery about doing
it because I didn't want to get under it. And
nothing happened to me. So Brian Bowden was in. I'm sorry, sir.

(23:15):
Brian Bowden was in.

Speaker 3 (23:17):
The chat.

Speaker 4 (23:18):
He eventually came on the show and he kept saying
he's a remote viewer and he was picking out locations
in this place.

Speaker 3 (23:27):
He had never been there. He was picked.

Speaker 4 (23:29):
Okay, you guys have to go in the priest room,
which is in the other building across the driveway. You
have to go in the door that has the awning
in it. I mean, he was spot on. There was
a priest building with an awning there, and he had
no idea that it was there. So we wrap up
Harry's God's Helmet session and we walk over there and

(23:52):
I put the God's helmet on, and right before I
did that, Brian said, Paul, take a deep breath. Something
very amazing is going to happen right now. Just take
a deep breath, Relax, get into the moment. It's going
to be fine, but you're going to have a fantastic experience. Okay,

(24:14):
this is new to me, so you know, I'm little nervous,
but you know it's fine. So we were sitting in
a room that had a long table, probably about six
or eight foot long table. I was at one end,
one head of the table, there was nobody else at
the other head of the table, Terry and somebody else.
We're standing or sitting to my right filming me, and

(24:37):
with only three people in the room. And on both
sides of the room was a tall door, probably about
a seven eight foot tall door with windows on top.
I guess those fire windows that they used to have
on top. And I put the helmet on and it's going.
And you know that the white noise you see on

(24:59):
t where you don't have a TV signal bick in
the day when the TV show the TV stations would
go off the air, you have the white noise and stuff.

Speaker 3 (25:10):
That's kind of what I saw. But I couldn't really
pick up figures.

Speaker 4 (25:17):
So but I sent something that something else was in
the room with me besides Terry, and I can't remember
who else was in the room with us. Something else
was in the room with us, but it wasn't bad.
And then but I couldn't see him, and he was
sitting on the other end.

Speaker 3 (25:38):
Of the table. I keep pointing, like I'm pointing at
the table.

Speaker 4 (25:42):
They were sitting at the other side of the table,
and I felt something walk from my left around behind me,
and I'm like there's somebody else here in this room. Again,
I couldn't see anything, and and Brian and everybody on
BMR show could hear this. There's somebody else in here.

(26:03):
I sent somebody excuse me at the other end of
the table, and somebody behind me, and Brian said, there
is an older gentleman sitting on the end of the
table across from you, smiling so bright.

Speaker 3 (26:19):
And so big and so happy to see you. I
knew right then it was my grandpa.

Speaker 4 (26:26):
And every time I do an investigation go someplace, I
always pray to God to protect me and everybody to
protect me. I always pray to my mom and dad,
my grandparents to protect me because I know that they
would not let anything happen to me.

Speaker 3 (26:42):
So I did that going in there. I'm getting goosebumps
talking about this. Now.

Speaker 4 (26:47):
I sense my grandpa right there. I still didn't. I
never saw him, but I knew he was there. I
knew there was somebody there. He said it with somebody beaming.
And I remember when I was in college, I used
to do news on the radio and my mom would
tape it and take it up to him at the
nursing home and play it for him. Or have the
station on or something, and he would just get so

(27:08):
excited and be so happy. So I know that was
him over there, and he then Brian said, well, there's
like a fatherly figure standing behind you, has his hand
on your shoulder.

Speaker 3 (27:18):
That was one my dad. So I had this incredible.

Speaker 4 (27:25):
Family experience while under the god's helmet that Brian was
even saying that it's nothing else was in the room.
Things were just staying out of the room. He said
he could see things trying to get in, but they

(27:45):
wouldn't let him in. I guess my other family's family
members were there too, but they were kind of hidden.

Speaker 3 (27:52):
In the in the shadows and kind of away.

Speaker 4 (27:55):
But I felt Grandpa there and I felt my dad there.
People might be seeing some shadows back here behind me,
so that could be them too. There's back here, there's
a shadow from my keyboard. That's the red light. But anyway,
I've had them in shows before. Brian also said that

(28:18):
there's something else that's kind of creeping in the room.
My chair is actually moving right now, actually.

Speaker 3 (28:25):
Yep.

Speaker 4 (28:27):
So so I'm focusing on the room, trying not to
break down and get emotional because I haven't seen my
Grandpa in twenty thirty years and my dad in like
five years or whatever.

Speaker 3 (28:44):
I'm looking up in the corner of the room.

Speaker 4 (28:47):
By the window had to have been ten feet in
the air, and there was an alien head, a gray
alien head, up by the window the door. And I
told Brian, I'm like, I see a gray alien head,
and He's like, yeah, there's there's there's more things trying

(29:09):
to get in, but that one's that one's there just
to try and see you. So, I mean, that was
totally unplanned. I wasn't planning on doing the God tellent.
I wanted to do it, but you know, thankfully be
Amr suggested and like, okay, what the hell, I'll give
it a shot and see what happens. It's not always

(29:32):
a positive result that happens with this. I've seen other
ones where spirits will show different scenes to people and everything.
We did one at a mayas with somebody else. I
haven't done it since I don't know that I want
to do it, kind of like winning the Super Bowl
or winning the Stanley Cup or whatever and then retiring

(29:54):
right away.

Speaker 3 (29:55):
You know, I know that I want to.

Speaker 4 (29:56):
I don't think I could top that, so I haven't
done it yet. I've seen other people do it and
get varying results. They see what spirits are showing them
about a place or something or something evil can show
themselves to them a couple of times at Ray County

(30:20):
where we're going to be in September in a few
weeks at the Crossing Rooms conference September nineteenth and twentieth.
Get your tickets out event right now before they go out,
before they sell out. Sorry, shameless plug. Greg Ogeles was
seeing aliens when he was doing the God's Helmet at
Ray County. Terry was in the basement there and she

(30:44):
was seeing people in another room, spirits in another room
doing stuff, and I think she saw aliens too. I'm
not sure, but I know Greg did. So that is
definitely a easy piece of equipment to use. And like

(31:05):
I said, it's really no more than fifteen minutes you
get in there because excuse me for one second here,
thing you get kind of kind of weird. Yeah, with
the drums, you get kind of weird if you're in
there too long.

Speaker 3 (31:25):
So, I mean, it was fun.

Speaker 4 (31:28):
I would certainly recommend people at least trying it, but
not too terribly long.

Speaker 3 (31:37):
But those were my.

Speaker 4 (31:39):
Big cool experiences, minus the scratch that I had done too.

Speaker 2 (31:46):
It's also fascinating. There's so much to unpack in there,
My goodness. I've always been been fascinated. I've never used
the god helmet or a god helmet, but I've always
been fascinated with the concept of it because originally, of course,
it was an invention of two essentially neuroscientists, right like

(32:08):
Michael Persinger and Stanley Koran, and they were more interested
in manipulating i think, the temporal lobes and seeing what
kind of religious experiences that they could elicit and other
type experiences that they could elicit. And since then paranormal
investigators have used it to actually try to have experiences

(32:31):
with the other, right, whatever that is, Like in your case,
it was all kinds of things, you know. But I
think there might herein might lay some of potentially a
window for us to see what is behind so much
paranormal manifestation, because I do think that a lot of

(32:53):
these things come from the same source, and maybe this
lets us access that same source, because it's that there's
this like you were talking about seeing grays, and there
was you know, dear departed and all of these things
coming through or do you ever suspect some of these
manifestations might be related, and not just in your own
experiences with the God Helmet, but generally that there might

(33:17):
be some because this is my wheelhouses what fascinates me
that there might be some similarity or there might be
some common source that everything from gray extraterrestrials to Virgin
Mary apparitions to Bigfoot to you know, everything in between
might somehow be it, you know, emanating from.

Speaker 3 (33:38):
I think it's certainly helps, it might.

Speaker 4 (33:45):
What I think the God's Helmet might do is for
people who might not for people who have a harder
time seeing what's on the other side, seeing spirits, seeing
aliens or whatever, it helps them to relax and the
meditate and get in that state where maybe in their

(34:08):
realm you see a different realm and you see what's
going on on the other side a little bit.

Speaker 3 (34:15):
I mean, that's just my thinking. I'm not sure.

Speaker 4 (34:19):
I mean, I again, I didn't really see anything. I
just felt the presence of something and it was all
like white around me. It was it was It wasn't
even the static from a TV or anything. It was
whiter than that. So maybe it's it's helping people along

(34:41):
to see the other side and maybe show them what
is out there, what could be out there.

Speaker 2 (34:48):
There's lots of people in the chat who seem interested
in trying the God helmet. There was a question from
paramedic asking will they be using the helmet at the
Crossing Realms conference. I don't believe so, but maybe maybe
you know something I don't know.

Speaker 4 (35:01):
So Unfortunately, the ghost hunt that night is sold out.
I know Terry's going to be there. She's going to
be kind of leading the ghost hunt. She is probably
going to bring the God's Helmet with her. She usually
does on investigations like that. So I'm you know again,
I'm I don't know for sure, but if I were

(35:24):
to bet on it, I would bet that it would
be there. I'm not a gambler or anything, but I
would bet that it would. I bet it's going to
be there, and I bet she's going to have it
out for the ghosts of the investigation that night.

Speaker 2 (35:39):
That would be fascinating for those people who've already bought
their tickets for that.

Speaker 3 (35:44):
Mm hm.

Speaker 2 (35:44):
You guys did a great promotion as well. I can
see why it's already sold out. You guys have been
plugging this thing well and hot.

Speaker 3 (35:53):
Yeah, we hit it. We hit it pretty hard at first,
and uh we're hitting it hard again.

Speaker 2 (35:57):
So well, it's important thinking the lead up to any
event to let the people know who haven't you heard yet,
or who might be hesitating to to to race out
there and buy there, buy their tickets back to back
to you though, how much is this? Then this must
have changed you, like I'm guessing at a very deep level,

(36:18):
getting in.

Speaker 3 (36:18):
With the paranormal.

Speaker 4 (36:21):
It has, you know, Like I said before I went
to Ashmore, I don't even remember when that was August
or September last year or something. Terry just said in chat,
the God's helmet will be there.

Speaker 3 (36:34):
So there you go. There's the answer. I wish it
would have.

Speaker 1 (36:39):
Bet on that, damn it.

Speaker 4 (36:40):
Anyway, before I started doing this, ever really saw anything,
didn't really think anything of hearing knocks on the wall
or anything. But now looking back, and we've had something
happened here at the house that you know, has me

(37:02):
kind of questioning what's going on here too. I think
I brought something back with from another investigation. I had
my wife's little hair clip or hair ties move on
the on the bathroom sink while I was in the shower.
We had and I keep thinking, I see things out

(37:23):
of the corner of my eye around here, and I
know things are are visiting us too.

Speaker 3 (37:29):
So we actually.

Speaker 4 (37:34):
This was funny story. Actually, I'd say about fifteen years ago,
maybe longer, I don't know. But I was working overnight.
We had just moved into the house and I was
working overnight. We had two cats at the time, and
I don't know if anybody in Chad has cats. You know,
the sound of a cat trying to puke in the

(37:56):
middle of the night, you hear that, you're up out
of bed real quick. So my wife heard that out
in the hallway right outside this door here, and she
was cleaning up the catfuke and she turned around and
she saw this black figure coming up the steps on
we have a two story house steps landing and steps

(38:18):
come up to this level. And she saw it coming
up to the first set flight of stairs, turn and
come up, and as it got closer to her, it
kind of just dissipated. So again, not knowing what we
were dealing with, we just thought it looked like an
amish guy coming up to steps, you know. She was

(38:39):
black trench coat, black hat. We didn't think anything of it.
So it was the Amish guy to us for a
lot of years. And then I'm doing a show last
year talking to some medium I don't remember his name,
and he was telling me about a man experience that

(39:00):
he had where it was hovering over his bed and
he explained it what the guy, what the hat man
looked like, and he explained the top hat, the black coat,
no facial features, and just darkness. And I'm sitting here
doing this interview and I think I was looking like

(39:23):
that the whole time. And I don't like doing this,
but I was texting my wife when he was telling
you this, and I'm like, oh my god, you got
to you got to turn this on. If you're not watching,
you got to listen to this. So after the after
the show, I talked to my wife and Honey, you
saw the hat man and the hat man was in
our house. So we just accept nothing else has happened

(39:46):
since she saw that. So this year we went on
vacation and I just found this out last weekend. Actually,
we were on vacation. We had one of our neighbor's
kids stay in the house and keep our dogs and
watch our dogs, watch the house and everything, so that
she slept in our bed and everything. She was telling
us that she had and she never had this at

(40:09):
their house. She had a dream twice that there was
a guy standing in the stairwell right where my wife
saw the hat man standing in the stairwell watching her.
And she explained it just like my wife did. It
was but it just stood there, didn't walk up the steps.

(40:31):
It was just standing there watching, no facial features, no
red eyes, just top hat, black coat. So she is
she saw that she had a dream that the hat
man was there, and I asked somebody else about the
dream and they said that it wasn't a dream that

(40:52):
the hat man was there watching her. So somebody else
other than us had the hat man here watching them.
And she said that she had never had that experience
at her house, which is just a couple of houses
down from us. So possibly have the hat man walking

(41:12):
around here. Still kind of crazy. You're muted.

Speaker 2 (41:23):
Just as well to have a pro on with me.
It's interesting because when when it's interesting, because when you
look into these kind of things, I do think that
windows open up. There's a if you've ever seen the
Mothman prophecies. There's a there's a great quote in that
fielm not and that this is from the film, not

(41:44):
from the book. But the character who is the character
who's kind of playing one of the John Kill versions.
There's two. There's the there's the Richard Gear character who
kind of just stumbles into West Virginia and has to
do the investigation. Then he goes and seeks out you know,
the author. I think it's Alexander Leak, which is you
know Leak is killed backwards and when he bothers Alexander

(42:08):
Leak about you know, all these phenomenon he's experiencing and
what's going on in Point Pleasant and you know the
rest of it, Alexander Leak tells the Richard Gear character.
He says, you notice these things, and these things notice
that you notice them. And I wonder if that is

(42:28):
an incredible insight. And John Kill that might not be
a quote directly from John Kill, but he certainly said
similar things. People who were haunted by an excessive amount
of demonic or poltergeist type activity, who had begun to
investigate the paranormal or eupology or any of these things.
Kills advice to them would be you just have to

(42:50):
burn all your books. You have to stop thinking about it,
you have to stop, you know, focusing on it, and
it will go away. And I think that's a that's
great advice. I think it also indicates that Keel understood
through his own engagements, probably with the weed. Yeah, the
more attention you paid to these things, the more they're

(43:10):
going to tap you on the shoulder, the more they're
going to notice you. It is the character in the
film film said, the more they're going to notice that
you noticed them.

Speaker 3 (43:17):
Do you feel that.

Speaker 2 (43:18):
Happened to you? Do you think by you becoming more
interested in this stuff that it kind of sowned in
on you as well.

Speaker 4 (43:26):
I mean, I had never seen a ghost, heard or
you know, I probably heard the knocking and stuff and
just you know, laugh it off as the house settling
or whatever. But I've never saw anything. I've I've heard
voices here.

Speaker 2 (43:44):
Now.

Speaker 4 (43:46):
I was watching football one day last year and no,
I was watching football. My wife was behind me in
the kitchen making dinner, and the dog was on the
couch with me, and like right here, up in the
corner of the room, I hear, Oh my god.

Speaker 3 (44:08):
And I looked and I said, honey, did you say anything?
All right?

Speaker 4 (44:11):
I asked her what she said and she said, I
didn't say anything. I thought you said something, so we
both heard it. So, you know, I think me getting
into this is you know, I don't know if it's
bringing things here or it's helped it's my wife is
also opening up to the stuff. But you know, she
said that, you know what, you know a couple of

(44:33):
times with my son. My son's named after her dad,
who died like right before our wedding. He's seen him
in the house when he was a little kid, and
she said she's kind of bumped in. She felt like
she bumped into him one one time when she was
cleaning or something. But it's one of those things where
you could smell his his cologne or whatever and stuff.

Speaker 3 (44:56):
But it seems like.

Speaker 4 (44:59):
She's a putting up more to this stuff too, And
she doesn't go on these investigations with me. She's interested
in the stuff and she doesn't but she doesn't go
on this. She watches the show and everything, and she's interested,
but she doesn't partake in any of the activities that
we do. Oh shoot, I was going to say something else.

Speaker 2 (45:21):
There's there's so much. Yeah, when when when we're at well,
it becomes I mean there's an emotional element as well
to talking about some of this stuff, because I think, well,
it's easy to break down on an intellectual level when
you when you're when either you're talking about your own
experiences or when somebody else is telling you their experiences,

(45:43):
it becomes a very personal, subjective thing. And I think
often we're so determined to somehow in whether it's the
cryptos orological world or the ghost hunting world, or you know,
the euphological world, where there's often this real impetus on
people to try to, you know, find out the truth

(46:06):
of these things, to prove they exist or whatever. But ultimately,
I think most of this is just very personal experiences
with some other with some numinous reality, some some non
human or apparently non human intelligence or non human force
which affects us at a very profound level. And I

(46:28):
think sometimes we're so focused on finding some kind of
you know, secret, you know, approving something that we that
we overlook this personal aspect of encounters.

Speaker 4 (46:41):
Yeah, you know, I don't mind having the personal encounters.
I mean my parents and grandparents and family and everybody
they can come and visit as much as they can,
are as much as they want. It's the you know,
the demonic and the evil stuff that I don't want
any part of. But you know, you know, that's one
time we were having my dad's side of the family,

(47:04):
all my cousins and stuff over. We do Christmas Eve
here and each October early on Cober late September, we
all get together and we all draw names for Secretana
and stuff like that. So all of my dad's family
was at our house and we were standing around in
the kitchen. Everybody seems to kind of gather in the

(47:25):
kitchen for some reason. We were in the kitchen. I
was by the sink. My cousin was sitting at the
table next to me, and we had one of those
rubber stoppers that goes in the sink to keep the
water in the sink from draining. So we were all

(47:45):
talking and all of a sudden, the rubber stopper flips
into the sink and it was and there's a good
was it six inches or whatever from the back of
the backs slash to the sink. It was right up
against the backsplash, so it didn't didn't just vibrate and

(48:08):
fall in, so it slipped up into the sink and
I looked down.

Speaker 3 (48:13):
I saw that.

Speaker 4 (48:13):
I looked over at my cousin. She was watching, so
we both saw it. So you know, right afterwards, you know,
everything that you see and you find on investigations like that,
you always try your hardest.

Speaker 3 (48:24):
To debunk it. You know.

Speaker 4 (48:26):
I was jumping up and down in the in the
kitchen trying to get it to move. Nothing that didn't move.
I put it back there and it didn't move. I
was pounding on the on the countertop. It didn't move.
I turned the garbage disposal on. It kind of moved
a little bit, but the garbage disposal wasn't on.

Speaker 3 (48:44):
At the time.

Speaker 4 (48:45):
So, you know, I'm thinking it was his dad just
coming in for a visit. He wanted to see his family,
and he was he was there. He wanted to make
sure and he was kind of a trickster, or to
he he would want to do something like that. But
actually that was about the time when I think I
brought something back. That was right when the hair clip

(49:06):
thing flipped in the sink in the bathroom, So I
mean that could have been whatever I brought back.

Speaker 3 (49:12):
So yeah, it's it's.

Speaker 4 (49:16):
Uh, yeah, he can come visit all at anytime he wants,
you know, just keep the And like I said, they
they wouldn't let anything harm me.

Speaker 3 (49:28):
I'm their only child. They wouldn't let anything harm me.

Speaker 4 (49:32):
So I think that's that's true in the afterlife, that
they're they're around here protecting me as well.

Speaker 2 (49:38):
So it's interesting you mentioned that your father had a
kind of trickster element, because to segue from that a
little bit, I wonder how much of this stuff isn't
just tricksterish by nature. I wonder how much of these
things that we encounter again wherever we want to talk
about on the paranormal space, from ethology to cryptozoology to

(50:02):
you know, specter hunting in between, where there's so much
of this stuff isn't somehow, you know, deceiving. And I
don't want to diminish anything from your experiences, because again
I mean, who the devil am I and their personal experiences,
But any of the things you any of the encounters
you've ever had with things which have seen more benevolent,
have you ever thought that maybe they could that could

(50:24):
be something else, you know, putting out of disguise or
presenting itself to me, is is what it isn't I.

Speaker 4 (50:31):
Mean, I don't know, I don't know.

Speaker 3 (50:33):
I mean it could be.

Speaker 4 (50:36):
I mean I certainly have plans, you know, the play
tricks on people in the after life, But you know.

Speaker 3 (50:44):
I mean it could be.

Speaker 4 (50:46):
But some of the things that I've seen and have
had happen, I don't think it was trickster. It's like
the voice that we had we're watching, it wasn't my
dad's voice. It didn't sound like it is my mom's voice.
It sounded like some somebody else's voice. And it could
have been somebody else taking you know, playing tricks on

(51:08):
us or whatever, just you know, playing with us or whatever.

Speaker 3 (51:10):
But I really think that.

Speaker 4 (51:14):
In that setting, that guy who doesn't like women is
down there haunting that place.

Speaker 3 (51:21):
I think that's that's them saying.

Speaker 4 (51:24):
We're watching, get out of our space something like that.
So the time that I got scratched, which was the
I don't know if it was really the more evil
thing that has had that has happened to me. We
were at Rare County Museum where we're going to be
in September, and I was in the Civil War room

(51:48):
and there was three of us in the room, like
kind of in a triangle six feet apart.

Speaker 1 (51:52):
We had.

Speaker 4 (51:55):
Spirit box going and there's supposedly a spirit in there
that likes to open and close doors. And there was
a cabinet that I had opened, and I kept asking
them to close it, and we kept getting on the
spirit box, who kept getting no, get out when I

(52:16):
would ask it to close the door, so like, no,
I want you to close the door for us, and
I was I was polite. I you know, I don't
go in and and and I'm not mean to these things.
You know, you don't get anything by being mean to somebody.
And that's true for in real life and in the
the after life. I'm always, you know, thank you for

(52:36):
showing yourself, thank you for talking with us, thank you
for showing knocking or whatever, thank you for whatever. And
I can you please open and close the door? It
kept saying, no, I really want you to. I'll leave,
but can you close this door? Like the third time

(52:57):
I said no, the guy on my right, thank you, Riley.
The guy on my right said he saw a white
mist behind me underneath the cabinets, like oh okay, and
I felt kind of a cool breeze and I looked
down and I had five scratches going up my leg

(53:20):
and like, oh, that's interesting, and I had I had
a static camera behind me kind of shoot me. So
I didn't thank you big quick. I didn't reach down
and I didn't scratch myself. So right after that we
got out of that room. But it wasn't the typical

(53:40):
three scratches, which is the more evil markings.

Speaker 3 (53:45):
I guess.

Speaker 4 (53:46):
I really honestly think it was somebody saying, hey, look,
I'm in charge here. I'm not going to close that door.
You're going to get out, and this is what I'm
going to do to get you out.

Speaker 3 (53:58):
And hey, it worked.

Speaker 4 (53:59):
We got out, and you know, I apologize and like
I'm sorry, okay, we'll get out to you.

Speaker 3 (54:06):
So and actually that with Ray Cowney.

Speaker 4 (54:10):
If you go in in the museum, you'll notice this.
It's it's shaped in a y. There's fifty some odd rooms,
three floors, including the basement. Briefly, yeah, and all the
other wings are fine when you walk so there's like
a big room on each floor in the middle where

(54:30):
the staircase is, and when you go to the right,
it's fine on most of them. When you go into
left on the main level, it's fine on the top level.
When you go down that hallway. The second you cross
over that threshold from the center room whatever to that hallway,
you and there's a ton of annequins down there, which
are freaky at night when it's completely black. You forget

(54:53):
about them and you turn a corner and see a
mannequin standing right there. But when the second you walk
down that hallway, it changes. It's not it's not demonic
or bad or anything. It's just it changes the whole vibe.

Speaker 3 (55:10):
It's weird. It's weird, but hey, I love it. Mickey
loves it. You know, I'll do it again in a heartbeat.
So has it been a.

Speaker 2 (55:25):
Specific moment that stands out to you?

Speaker 3 (55:28):
It was particularly scary.

Speaker 2 (55:29):
Way you were like, maybe I shouldn't be doing this.

Speaker 3 (55:31):
So why am I doing this? So not yet. One
of one of the places that's actually close to us.

Speaker 4 (55:46):
It's called the Mays Village and it's like an hour
away from where I live in South Saint Louis.

Speaker 3 (55:55):
There's a.

Speaker 4 (55:57):
It backs up to the woods, and and Christa and
Terry Mosby had a weird recording out there and they
sent it around. No one can figure out what it is.
It's not a wolf, it's not a coote. They don't

(56:18):
know what it is.

Speaker 3 (56:19):
It sounded like like like a bigfoot howl or a
dog man or something.

Speaker 4 (56:26):
And a couple of times we've been out there and
we're kind of there's a picnic table, so part of
Amais goes out to the woods and we're sitting on
the park bench and they're doing tree knocks trying to
get something, and I heard something move.

Speaker 3 (56:43):
In the woods.

Speaker 4 (56:44):
Like, you know what, guys, I'm going to go. You know,
I don't want to be a part of anything that's
going to eat me like a dog man would. I mean,
that's probably the only time that I'm like, you know what,
this might not be a great idea, but you know,
if you guys want to say that's great. You know,

(57:05):
I'm I'm going back in with the with the ghosts
and stuff. But you know, really, you know, I thought
going in going into these things that I wouldn't do this.
I wouldn't walk down a dark hallway. I wouldn't sit
in a dark room with you know, nobody around me.

(57:27):
And it's you know, it's fine. I I nothing that
doesn't really scare me. Outside of the woods, so yeah,
really it doesn't answer that question. Nothing nothing yet. I mean,
I haven't really been in any place that's really demonic
in nature. It's just kind of creepy sometimes, but nothing

(57:50):
that would scare me away.

Speaker 2 (57:52):
Your stories have been so interesting to not it's been
so great to have you on the show. Where do
people watch your show and where do people like get
a hold of you? Like, can you give out some
URLs or point people at some sites where they can
find what you're up to?

Speaker 4 (58:09):
So you can find me at Paranormal among Us on
YouTube if you search paranormal Paul, you can you'll find me.
It'll take you right there. Or you can go to
my website paranormal among Us dot com. I have links
to the show, I have links to merchandise. Those are

(58:31):
probably the two best ways to get me. Paranormal among
Us seventy two at gmail dot com is my email address.
If you email me, that's fine, But yeah, those are
two big places to get in touch.

Speaker 3 (58:48):
With me and see the show.

Speaker 2 (58:50):
Oh, have your website, as I already do in the
show notes on the video stream. I'll have it in
the audio only podcast as well, both to your YouTube
page and to your website now again and I'll have
this link as well there to to the Crossing Rooms conference.
But again, tell us a little bit about the Crossing
Rooms Conference.

Speaker 3 (59:11):
Oh, it is going to be so much fun. I'm
going to get a list of the speakers.

Speaker 4 (59:16):
So so Thursday night, if you can make it Thursday night,
it's going to be a pre concert.

Speaker 3 (59:21):
Or I keep calling it a concert pre conference party.

Speaker 4 (59:26):
All of the Island of Misfit Toys are going to
be there, b m R techs Kristin Brandy Me guests
are going to be there if if they want to
be speakers, if they can make it on Thursday, they
can be there. But Friday is going to be the
meet and greet. I don't we I know we have
three speakers on Friday. I don't remember which ones. I

(59:49):
know it's going to be. I got a list here.
On one second, Miguel Ramirez from Sasquatch Theory is going
to be there on Friday.

Speaker 3 (59:58):
And who I don't remember who else is going to
be there.

Speaker 4 (01:00:03):
But it's going to be a great night Friday to
kind of mingle around and you know, meet people, have
time to walk around and talk to people, and then
the conference starts I believe at nine o'clock Saturday. You're
talking Greg Ogles, the guys from Haunted Souls and Haunted Garage,
which is a ghost hunting group here in the Midwest

(01:00:28):
that I'm part of along with Kristin Brandy. We host
events at AMAS and other locations around Missouri. Ron Murphy's
going to be there, Will Lunsford, Heather Moser, Josh Hurd,
Brian Bowden is going to be there. We have all
kinds of special guests that are going to be there

(01:00:49):
that you can meet. It's just going to be a
fantastic time. All kinds of vendors are going to be there,
so I mean, it's going to cover everything from UFOs
to cryptids to paranormal, so we have something for everybody
that wants to come out and see this.

Speaker 3 (01:01:10):
It's going to be fun.

Speaker 2 (01:01:12):
I'm so pumped. I'm so pumped for it's not even funny.
I can't wait to make the trip down and to
meet you, get to meet everybody else. Yeah, just have
a fantastic weekend. Well again, Paul, thank you so much
for visiting me, particularly on your birthday night, So happy
birthday and thank.

Speaker 3 (01:01:30):
You for being here. Thank you very much. Thank you
very much.

Speaker 4 (01:01:33):
I enjoyed being here, and anytime I'm going to have
to have you come on my show, well we're talking
about that. We're going to talk at the conference and
get you on my show and then have some fun
over there too.

Speaker 2 (01:01:44):
That's going to be fantastic. And until I talk to
you again, Paul, which will probably be at Crossing Realms
September nineteen to twenty, and until I talk to everybody
else out there, which will hopefully be the new Weird
Time Thursday's nine pm Central, but the same weird network,
Untold Radio Network. Please keep it weird,
