Speaker 1 (00:00):
You ever think about what's gonna happen if the city
went dark, if there's no power, no water, no help
coming anytime soon. Most people don't, But that's the kind
of thing that I personally prepare for. Urban survival isn't
about fear, It's about living ready. Today, I'm gonna break
down five urban survival gadgets that every single person should own.

(00:21):
Trust me, when things get real. These tools could mean
the difference between being stuck and getting out alive. But
before we begin, I just want to say welcome to
the Urban Warriors Survival podcast, where street smarts meets primal instincts.
I'm be Rock, your guide to mastering self defense, survival skills,
and the mindset to thrive in any situation that life
throws at you. If you're ready to level up and

(00:43):
take your game to the next level, join the tribe
of Warriors preparing for the real world. Head over to Patreon.
Link's gonna be in the description below. There you'll get
exclusive tips, gear breakdowns, and behind the scene content you
won't hear on anywhere else. Now, let's get into it.
Number one, you're gonna need a multi tool with locking blades,

(01:03):
so when you're walking around day to day, you can't
carry a whole toolbox with you, but a quality multi
tool is basically one in your pocket I'm talking about.
You're gonna get plyers, screwdrivers, scissors, wirecutters, and a blade
that you can actually trust. The locking blades keep you
from cutting yourself when you're applying a lot of force,
and the more solid the build, the more abuse it

(01:25):
can take in an emergency. In an urban setting, this
could be the tool that gets you into a locked
utility box, cuts through a seatbelt, or fixes a busted
strap on your gear. So when you get a chance
to make sure that you pick yourself up a multi
tool with a locking blade. Number two. Believe it or not,
you're gonna actually want a compact water filtration system. Clean

(01:47):
water is survival one oh one, but in a city emergency,
the tap might be dry or contaminated. So a pocket
sized water filter lets you drink safe water from sources
you've never trusted Otherwise us like public fountains, rain water barrows,
even questionable sinks in an abandoned building. Get one that

(02:08):
removes bacteria, parasites, and chemicals. Because city water isn't just
about germs it's about the stuff leaking from pipes and
old infrastructures. So yeah, make sure you pick up a
compact water filtration system and keep that in your EDC.
Number three, you're gonna want to have a solar power bank.
With everybody having cell phones, I do not know why

(02:29):
everybody does not have one of these. Maybe it's because
people do not know these exists, or they live in
such a sheltered world that they never run into a
situation to where they're really gonna need this. But when
the grid goes down, your phone isn't just for TikTok.
It's your map, it's your flashlight, your emergency contact device,
and survival library. A power bank keeps you alive without

(02:50):
an outlet. Don't be the type of person who ends
up in the horror movie hanging on to deer life
because they only have one percent left and no way
to charge their phone. Urban rooftops, balconies are even sode
walks on a sunny day can become your charging station.
Get one with multiple USB ports and enough capacity to
charge your phone several times over. Trust me, you definitely
want one. I carry one every day, and even if

(03:12):
it's not an emergency It has allowed me to charge
my phone while I was out and about in the park,
in a mall, or just in a grocery store. You're
gonna use it way more than you actually think that
you're gonna use it. Before we continue, I just want
to say, if you want to go beyond the podcast,
make sure to join my tribe, catch me live on
Twitch for real time survival talk, q anda's and training breakdowns,

(03:33):
and step into discord to connect with other warriors like yourself.
All of my lengths are gonna be in the description,
so don't just listen, make sure you get involved too.
Now back to the content. Number four is a tactical flashlight.
A cheap flashlight will fail you when you need it
the most, so you want one that's waterproof, impact resistant,
and blindingly bright. Bonus points if it has a strobe

(03:55):
light for disorientating threats. An urban survival light is both
vision and security. It helps you navigate dark stairwells, basements,
or even streets. It makes you a lot less of
a target in dangerous areas, and it's super nice to
have so you don't have to be trying to stick
your phone under the seat when you drop something. Underneath
the seat or in between the seats, or in the trunk,

(04:16):
or if you were to get like a flat tire
or something and you're searching through your wheel well or
checking underneath your car. And if you live in Florida,
it's nice to be able to shine that thing in
the grass and look out for them gators. So make
sure you pick yourself up a tactical flashlight. And lastly,
number five, a portable emergency radio. When the cell towers
go silent and emergency radio keeps you plugged into reality.

(04:38):
Get one that works off multiple power sources that like
hand cranks, has a solar charger as well as batteries.
You'll get weather alerts, evacuation notifications, and updates that could
save your life. It's not just about hearing the news.
It's about knowing where the danger is and where the
safe fones are. And it's super nice sometimes if you're

(04:58):
at the park just to be able to break it
and like listening to the radio. I do that all
the time when I'm at the archery range. So grab
yourself a portable emergency radio. So in conclusion, I just
want to say survival in the city isn't about being paranoid.
It's about being prepared. Every one of these gadgets is
small enough to carry or stash, but powerful enough to

(05:19):
save your life when the streets gets unpredictable. The truth is,
emergencies don't wait for you to get ready. They hit fast,
and the people who make it through are the ones
who already have the tools that they need. So start
building your kit now. Even if you can only add
one gadget at a time, each one is another layer
of protection between you and disaster. When the lights go
out and the water runs dry or the streets get dangerous,

(05:41):
you'll be glad you took this serious. Before I get
out of here, I just want to say thanks for
listening to the Urban Warriors Survival podcast. But your training
doesn't stop here. Make sure to join me live on
Twitch for real time survival breakdowns. Jump into discord to
connect with the tribe and grab exclusive gear at Urban
warriorsurvival dot Com. Have everything from customized target or you

(06:03):
can actually even commission custom targets for archery as well
as the gun range. I have survival inspired holiday cards
as well as t shirts, and if you want behind
the screen access and bonus content, make sure to head
over to Patreon, where I'll be offering bug out Bag audits,
the Urban Warriors survival magazine, help building your own business

(06:25):
so you don't have to rely on the system. So
until next time, stay sharp, stay ready, and thanks for
tuning in. This is b Rock signing out peace
